What happened to the Exton Diner? We went on a Sunday morning and the food was less than stellar, to say the least. The service was friendly, but that's where it ended. We had a party of four and the buffet was stale and dried out. There was not one redeeming quality about it. Chewy bacon, stale, cold eggs and soggy pancakes. This place used to be one of our favorite weekend breakfast spots, but it's been removed from our list.

I've only had breakfast and brunch food here, but it's good. Minella's in Wayne, the only other 24/7 diner I know of in the area, wishes they had food like this. Eggs Benedict cooked properly and with fresh ingredients, pancakes and french toast cooked well, etc.. Prompt, friendly service, too. I love this place.

I used to work here for 2 years: Pros- 24/7, menu has everything under the sun, plenty of parking, staff cares but may not seem like it when they get packed Cons- dishes, cups, and silverware have been through the test of time, and service can be slow when busy It's a diner, so you should have moderate expectations, but I think I always get what I'm looking for when I go

I didn't realize this was a diner until I pulled up into the parking lot. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I was there already so I went for it. For dinner, I ordered a ravioli with chicken and the dark side of the moon chocolate cake to go. The employees were all young and friendly, helping me make my decisions. My pasta was better than I expected, but the chicken was dry, even with the sauce of the pasta. The cake, though, MMMM. Chocolatey goodness.

Love this diner! We go here quite often. Good food, great service. Can't remember the days when they have it... But they have an older woman playing piano... She's a sweetheart (takes requests) and they also have a person who does balloon animals and he is awesome !

My husband and I love this place! We love live music, but aren't into the bar scene. On Fridays and Saturdays, there's a live pianist playing standards, jazz, etc. Family friendly, but still fun for the adults!

Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. Bistro 24 is definitely a diner worth trying. I have eaten here manny times and I have never been disappointed. The restaurant has a great vibe to it with its updated look. The food is always served fresh and is prepared in a timely manner. My favorite food order is a spinach omelet with feta cheese and a side of Canadian bacon. Give this a try next time your in Exton.

So my boyfriend heard horrible reviews from this place.. so we put off trying here. We finally decided to go here since we live in the apartments right next door. We loved it!!! Awesome staff great food... however.. I do not like the laday that plays the piano one night a week.. she makes things very awkward when I just wanna go and eat with friends. If she wasnt there, I would make it 5 stars for sure

Options are limited when its late night, not too many places open all night in the area. Food wasnt what I would expect from a bistro. I remember when this place was called Exton diner.

After eating here a year ago and having a great meal, we have eaten here many more times for lunch, dinner and brunch. Things seemed to be falling off at the wheels each time. Each time, it became harder and harder to get served, get drink refills and get food. For one brunch, I had the buffet with one child and my wfie ordered off the menu (or tried to). Since we were starving, my wife told us to go up prior to her order. We did, ate, asked for them to order multiple times, went up again, ate, completed our meal with no drinks and no service for the rest of our party. Needless to say, we walked out after paying for the buffets but wont go back.

We came here with a party of 20 for breakfast and they were incredibly accomodating. We couldn't get a table all together but they made sure to break us up into 4 different tables all seated right next to each other. The wait staff was great and brought things out quickly and always made sure we had refills of our coffe. I got the Crab benedict. It was basciaslly a crab cake in an eggs benedict. The crab cake wasn't bad, not as lumpy as I would like but still tasty. Unfortunately the eggs were a little over poached and I didn't get that runny egg I was looking for.

Terrible. Filthy dishes, had to go through 6 plates before I found a half way decent one to eat from. Then all the food was cold.

How can you screw up breakfast? Well I found out today. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, ham and rye toast. The waitress asked me if I wanted any meat and I said ham. My eggs came well done with the toast and no ham. When I asked about the ham I got attitude and she went right to the order device and said it will be a minute. It took 5 minutes no apology and my bread and eggs got cold. I took a bite and asked for the check. That's how you screw up breakfast. I will not give this place a second chance because of the poor waitress skills.

Took my (3) small kids ((2)5th grade and (1)6th grade) to breakfast this morning for a treat. Asked for them to have 2 chocolate chip pancakes, a piece of bacon or sausage and they would share a side of hash browns. I ordered the $4.99 breakfast special. The items I ordered for the kids was not listed on the menu but the waitress said no problem. I asked for small apple and orange juices for the kids and I got a coffee. Get ready for this... The bill was $46.09, with a 20% tip, cost me $55 to take 3 small kids to breakfast. Although the food was good, this was a COMPLETE RIP OFF. If you have a family, this is not the place to go. I could not have been more disappointed. The waitress could see these were little kids and did nothing to try to size the plates. They charged $9 each for a 2 choc chip pancakes and 2 pieces of bacon. $2.50 each for apple juices for the kids. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT WITH A FAMILY, THEY DO NOT WANT YOU THERE.

Will NEVER go back!! I ordered a cheesesteak WRAP, it came out on a gross dried out toasted roll and missing the marinara sauce. The manager asked if I wanted it remade on a wrap I explained that I did not have time, I had somewhere to be. When we went to pay we asked if they could at least take a couple dollars off the bill for THEIR mistake, the manager opened my to-go box and saw that I had taken ONE bite of the roll and said, well you ate it so what's the problem. We left the money on the counter and walked out. They were so rude and unprofessional!

The food is good dont get me wrong but everytime I eat here I'm popping my insides out for days. And I know it's the food here because my flatulence would smell exactly like whatever I got there. (Ex. French onion soup, eggs, broccoli) good food though

Went for Sunday breakfast. Son ordered a children's pancake and asked them to add chocolate chips. Children's pancake was priced at $2.50. Took over 25 minutes for our meal to arrive. Meal was average. I received the bill to find a charge labelled "add fruit" for $2.00 to our bill but neither of us added fruit. Asked waitress about charge and she stated this was the cost to add chocolate chips to a single child-size pancake. I asked to speak to a manager and stated that I was never informed upon ordering of the up-charge and that doubling the cost of the pancake for a sprinkling of chocolate chips was absurd. He said he didn't set the prices. I told him I would never return for mediocre food at inappropriate prices.

Over the years I have eaten here and it was just ok. Not great, but not horrible. Exton has some wonderful restaurants but we lack great pizza and a great diner. This place has never risen to the level of great. I took the family out to dinner tonight and we were the only people in the place. We even commented on that to the hostess. She claimed that they were busy just 20 minutes prior. It all started well with the waitress coming over promptly and taking a drinks order. She returned relatively quickly with the drinks. All good so far, but from there it went down hill. She took our food orders and it wasn't until a bit later that I realized she hadn't asked about things like our choice of soup or salad for the entrees that came with them. When I looked to find her, she was gone, not to be found. Eventually we were able to call over another waitress that appeared and she was absolutely confused by my question and told me the answer was on the menu. I have had better treatment at a McDonalds. If we hadn't of already ordered, I would have walked out right then. I don't pay to be treated like that by waitstaff. This all comes down to the management not training or supervising the staff right. It is hard to blame the waitstaff directly. The food was just ok but not worth the treatment I got.

This place is a friendly family atmosphere, with great food, personable servers and managers, and always very clean. They have all your typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner food but also have some specialties like sourdough French toast, crab benedict, stuffed French toast and pancakes and such. Everything is always very good. and so cheap!!

I've only ever been here for breakfast, but all of their breakfast offerings are great. The fresh squeezed orange juice is incredible. Service is consistently between great and just okay.

Will never return here again. Got seated right away, waitresses all over the place just wondering and talking to each other. It was snowing so the place was not busy at all. After waiting 15 minutes someone finally came and took our drink order, the waitress disappeared and after waiting another 15-20 minutes she still was no where to be found. We were so appalled, we got up and left before she returned with the drinks.

Meh indeed. After many years of patronage, I can say with certainty that there's nothing remarkable about this place at all. Once known as the Exton Diner, it's remodeling and reopening as Bistro 24 or whatever is bewildering. For heaven's sake, it's still a simple diner, and quite a humble one at that. The food is OK. The service is acceptable. The prices are about what one would expect. There's hardly anything worth reviewing about the place. Except that it's not a vending machine. I had one very good meal there. My long suffering spouse and I were headed home after a lengthy trip. We'd taken a redeye flight, and had arrived very early, well before 6.00 a.m. On a whim I said, "let's stop in for an early breakfast," and so we did. I had French toast that was every bit as good as you'd find at the finest of Denny's Restaurants, and for some reason, thoroughly enjoyed the meal. As we got back into our conveyance for the short drive home, long suffering spouse remarked, "that was yucky." To each his or her own.

Took the family out to breakfast on the way to get our christmas tree and didn't know why to expect. Well. I was pleasantly surprised by a nice, clean, better than average diner style restaurant with a top moth breakfast menu. All the traditional stuff. But also some unique items like stuffed French toast and crepes. I actually had the southwestern ommlette. Awesome with spicy sausage cheese and fresh jalepenos. I was pleasantly surprised and Will make the extra 10 minute drive from west Chester for a good breakfast over the typical places in town.

This is such a family friendly environment. I meet up with my grandmother here for breakfast and we have a blast. They just renovated and the new look is awesome. The food is great and the staff very friendly. Also, on occasion i am still out and about at 1am and have not had dinner. Well this is the place to go. food is always fresh and again just a great atmosphere.

I enjoyed the new Bistro 24. I went with a friend at about 7:30 pm midweek. I was happy. I got meatloaf that came with soup, salad and a side vegetable. The salad bar was fresh, there was a wonderful choices of fresh cut vegetalbes and salads. They had two soups on the salad bar, and i tried both. I took the meatloaf home after trying some of it, and it was delicious cold later as well, and a much larger portion that I would expect ( I was expecting 1 slice), My girlfriend got a salad, they brought her extra dressing when asked, and kept our teas filled. She enjoyed the salad, and everything on it was fresh. I also took home dinner to my son, a picky eater, and he enjoyed it as well. Food was very good, service was great, and when we got our checks we couldn't believe that they were as low as they were for everything we got. We will be going back there again!

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this place. It was very clean. The service was very prompt. The salad bar was almost too small to be called a salad bar, but the food was quite good and moderately priced. They even had a woman playing the piano as entertainment for the evening. I didn't get a chance to try out the juice-bar, but I think this place deserves a trip back. My only real complaint was the food should have been served at a warmer temperature, and I had to send my tea back because it wasn't hot.

I ordered two breakfast meals for takeout... I opened up the bag and they was not one, but numerous hairs stuck to the outside of the container. There were none inside, but obviously not what you want to find on your food containers. I had 2 eggs scrambled with a side of scrapple...the scrapple wasn't cooked through, the eggs looked like they took them from the buffet and threw them in a box. My wife and I both had upset stomachs after eating just small amount of this meal... Never going back.

Absolutely discussing if you like frozen store bought crap this is the place for you. No flavor extremely greasy even the bacon was nuked. They shouldn't be open 24 hrs just for public safety. It is clean at least, to bad our server was not very good she was friendly but never around.

I just had lunch there with my sister and we both ordered the falafel platter which comes with soup. The meal was very good, well presented and arrived in a timely manner. It was also inexpensive and the staff friendly.

The French Onion soup was some of the best ever at this diner style restaurant. I also had a very tasty salmon with spinach in filo with red pepper sauce that was very tasty. The vegetable sides though, were less than fresh and the thousand island dressing on my fresh salad was seemingly watered down. The butter pecan ice cream I finished with was a generous helping but still lacked taste. My server was attentive. Good service but the food was hit or miss.

My wife and I have dined at Bistro 24 a number of times over the past few months and have been very pleasantly surprised by the new decor and updated menu. The restaurant was previously named the Exton Diner but with the new decor and menu items they changed their name to Bistro 24. While it still retains many of the positive aspects of its days as a diner (24 hour service, nice breakfasts, reasonable pricing, etc.) it seems to have stepped everything else up a a few notches. The renovations have made the atmosphere much more pleasant and inviting, while the updated menu and daily specials always leave us with plenty of tempting choices. As for the quality of the food, it is always fresh and delicious. Also, unlike the chain restaurants , this is one of those local style restaurants where everything appears to be freshly prepared and made from scratch. If you haven't tried Bistro 24 since their days as the Exton Diner, give it a try...I'm sure, like us, once you do, you'll become a regular customer!
