Excellent service and very fresh. Try the Po-boy roll- sounds wierd but it's AMAZING!

Excellent food. Nice decor, parking was easy. The waitress was oriental and gave an authentic atmosphere.

Great food. Great service. Mr Johnny and his staff are the best. Best sushi in Jefferson parish. Way better than that other sushi place on causeway.

This is my local sushi spot for delivery!! I have never been to the actual restaurant, so my review is based on the food and delivery service... Both have never disappointed and it's time I share my experiences... I really like that they have a caller ID and save the callers address in their system, it makes it so much easier to order over the phone! Sometimes there is a slight language barrier when taking your order, but they have never once made any mistakes on my order (I've ordered at least 20 times in the past). Depending on how busy they are delivery times can be anywhere from 30-45 mins, sometimes even faster! To start with one of the greatest values I have found in this place is their lunch roll specials. You can get 2 rolls for $7.95 or 3 rolls for $10.95 (choose from of a list of about 20 simplistic rolls.. For example spicy tuna, crunchy, salmon avocado, fresh yellowtail, etc.) Each of the roll specials comes with a soup or salad and it will be more than enough food! Besides the lunch special rolls we enjoy some of their chefs special rolls... The summer roll, red and white roll, dragon roll, sweet heart roll, just to name a few. The fish is always very fresh and the rolls are extremely well made by the sushi chefs there (I worked at a sushi bar for 3 years and know quality when I see, smell and taste it). We rarely get anything besides sushi rolls, maybe an occasional appetizer of shumai or gyoza which are both very good. Overall, this is a very solid sushi restaurant. I would like to see some of the chefs specials change and provide a wider variety of fish, because I have found that most of their established rolls on the menu to be very similar and lacking a little bit of adventure. Perhaps when I done-in one day I will get the full experience and see if it's worthy of a 5th star!

This place is a hidden gold mine. The sushi was on point. So fresh. So tasty and not tiny rolls. We were the only people in there for most of our visit but don't let that fool you. They do plenty delivery and takeout! Only thing I wouldn't get again is the spicy tuna salad, it wasn't spicy. It was good just not what I was expecting. I'll try something new next time. If you find yourself near here TRY them. Seriously. Don't let the strip mall location detour you, if you do you have only cheated yourself!

I was in the area for 11 days & ended up at this restaurant 3 times during my stay. Yes, that's how much I enjoyed it. To be honest, the sushi wasn't my favorite (I tend to be picky about that), but there's a good selection for non-sushi items if need be. I went with the chicken yaki soba, which I would recommend! But the dish that kept me coming back was the baked mussels. You must try! Absolutely fantastic! This is how food should taste all the time!

Excellent! The Gyoza was so good the the Seaweed salad was fresh and delicious. But the po-boy roll and the Jamy's special Roll is out of this world a must try. Will definitely be back for more.

I have been here over a dozen times and the food has never disappointed. Everything that I have had has been really good. The service however can be spotty. Most times it is prompt and courteous but I walked out once after 30 minutes and no soup or salad was brought. Normally it shows up within 10 minutes (usually less) of ordering. When I got up to leave the waiter said our meal would be out in just a few minutes, I asked where our soup and salad was and just got a "Deer in the head lights Look". Just like everywhere else you need to be a little weary of the service. I guess everyone has an off day. But the food has always been very good. I will continue to eat here and enjoy a great meal.

Best sushi for your dollar. Stuff yourself with the black pepper tuna and end it with a sweet mango lover's roll.

Ordered the lunch salmon teriyaki bento box for delivery while I was at work. Let me tell you it was quick, cheap, fresh and a lot of food boxed perfectly. Will defiantly use them in the future. I used to order from Sushi Express on Division for delivery but their sushi pretty much sucks and taste pre-made. So glad this place delivers.

Ever since I discovered this place last summer, it's the only restaurant I get sushi from. It's the best I've ever tried. I've been to many sushi restaurants before and none compare to Tokyo Bistro!

Thought the food was great / not expensive / the Staff were excellent / it's a real gem at the corner of Transcontinental at W. Esplsnade

I've eaten here a couple times and just love it. There are A LOT of sushi rolls, many of which are not like other sushi restaurant's. The presentation of the sushi is also really beautiful and creative. The sushi chefs really go the extra mile in making the sushi look and taste gorgeous. The decor is contemporary and clean. And the servers are very nice. It's a great place and really convenient to the Transcontinental/West Esplanade neighborhoods. We will definitely be going back!

Tokyo Bistro just recently opened up in a little plaza at the corner of Transcontinental and W. Esplanade. The food is not amazing, but not horrible, which puts it at average/satisfactory. Shrimp Tini: Lightly battered tempura shrimp covered in a relatively sweet sauce. This appetizer was good and had a slight crunch. It reminds me of coconut shrimp. Spider roll: Fried soft shell crab, comes in 5 pieces. It was mediocre and somewhat dry. I would not order this roll again because price-wise, $10.95 is NOT worth it for only 5 pieces... Mardi Gras roll: Snow crab, avocado, and eel on the inside, among other various toppings on the outside including battered/fried seaweed, comes in 8 pieces. This roll was good without cream cheese, I would order it again. Rainbow roll: Snow crab, cucumber, and avocado on the inside, topped with salmon, white fish, tuna, and red snapper sashimi, comes in 8 pieces. Eh, this was the standard rainbow roll, nothing special. Zack's Special roll: Tempura shrimp, snow crab mix, and rice wrapped in pink soy paper, comes in 10 pieces. This was the BEST roll I've eaten at Tokyo Bistro. The tempura shrimp was lightly battered, fresh, and had a great crunch. I am DEFINITELY ordering this again. Hibachi steak: Includes salad, hibachi rice, soup, and hibachi vegetables. My dad ordered his steak medium rare, and it was okay. The hibachi rice lacked the smokey hibachi flavor. Yaki udon: Good amount of udon in the dish. The udon was a little more on the slimy texture than what I am used to. Flavor is good, mildly smokey, but not burnt like at some places. I prefer my yaki udon on the drier texture, but I would order this dish again. The service could use some work. My family decided to share several sushi rolls and yaki udon dishes, but the waitress did not bring our table any small plates so we ended up using the little soy sauce dishes for a good while until we were able to flag her down. However, she did bring my mom a banana tempura dessert for her birthday. We did not tell her it was our mom's birthday, but I think she overheard my sister telling our mom happy birthday. That was a plus!

I called & double checked that certain rolls were fully cooked because I'm 24 weeks pregnant. I also ordered a cucumber salad with ponzu sauce and went to pick it up. I got home and found roe (small orange fish eggs) in the salad which are too small to strain out. I was pretty upset since I really was craving cucumber salad. Be careful to communicate very clearly with them - I'm not sure how else I could have stressed no raw anything but at least check your food before you leave. *** UPDATE*** after calling to report this, the owner personally called back & offered us a $20 gift certificate. Very well handled. Great owners

Cute, clean, yummy, friendly place! Interesting selection of rolls! Very different from all the other sushi places in the city, and the presentation of the food is beautiful. I would recommend to anyone!

Lovely little spot, but it is tucked away in the "black hole" area which has seen its fair share of restaurants come and go. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, some of the speciality rolls were huge. Service was a bit slow (to go order, not ready when promised). But the staff was polite. Prices were reasonable and they do have a lot of lunch specials.
