LOVE LOVE LOVE! Queso dip is a must! Good quality food ,good service by the way! The host helped us with the menu from the second we walked in,considering we had the "first timers look" written all over our faces. All in all great Tex Mex spot for the location.

Visited this TEX MEX establishment while traveling on business. DELICIOUS!!! Fresh and spectacular! The tacos are addictive, and the sauce bar is awesome! I steer away from spicy, so i stay on the milder end of the table- The sauce adds that something extra to make the tacos one of a kind. I wish we had TF in Kentucky!

I love the food and the customer service. I order the chimichanga with refried beans and the queso on top. They're usually great with serving our group of 10-12 people.

What a roller coaster of a meal this was... Read as 2.5 stars. Before a Yelp event I decided, "hey, instead of being the first one at the event, why don't you go eat first?" I found this Tijuana Flats since it was right in the next plaza. My event was at 7pm and I pulled in before 6:10. The line was about eight people deep with two girls at the register. Ok, cool. Plenty of time. "Why isn't this line moving?" "This is a bad idea." Ten minutes later (6:22pm) I order. All good. Not long before I get my food, right? Hmm. I have only orders take out from Tijuana Flats so I was not sure about their dine in business model. It seemed like a Mexican Panera Bread. Around 6:23 the food arrives. Yay, I can gorge this food and then leave. There was a girl asking people if they wanted refills of their drinks. After I drank mine I waited for her to stop by. She didn't. All good though. The register is right nearby. I can do it. By this time I've eaten about 40 percent of my meal. I walk to the register, get my drink and see someone busing my table. Remember when Ross's boss on, "Friends" ate his sandwich? Yeah, well that was me. She apologized profusely thinking I was done, but then admitted she realized she goofed when she saw my cell phone. She began to take off the garbage she put on my food, almost to give me back my dirty meal, then said hold up I'll get you a new. A few minutes later a brand new meal arrived. No trash thrown on it. A complete meal I might add. By this time it was 6:46 and I had no time to enjoy my meal because I had to leave. Long story short: the food is decent, it took too long for not being busy, guard your food with its life, they have tons of sauces to choose from, and don't go if you're in a rush.

The food is tasty, but by no means will you feel the need to come back. They do have a friendly staff which is always a huge positive. I also find the prices to be a bit on the high side (relatively speaking of course); a meal for two can come out to $30-35.

Fast lines. Always fresh food. The portions are huge. Thete is no other taco place near by. I love this place for lunch :) recommend & will come again.

This place is so disgusting! I have absolutely no idea why they get so many good reviews. The food is maybe only half a notch better than Taco Bell, but you're paying double. People are friendly and restaurant is a cute little hang out place, so maybe that's why people love it. But the food is utterly disgusting, it makes me wonder if yelpers are even credible anymore. Stay away from this place! The food is beyond garbage. Low quality and super greasy. Like I said, you might as well head over to Taco Bell if this is what you're going to settle on eating.

Me and my coworkers are obsessed with this place, going once or twice a week to lunch here. Trick after your 10th visit... ORDER ONLINE. even if you want to eat it there, it cuts your wait time and your line by more than half. Plus they usually give you a coupon for this. Ive had the chimichangas, the burritos and the quesadilla. everything is pretty good. what takes the top notch are the chips, the guacamole and the sauce bar. Love taht there is a little for everything.

Our favorite weekend hangout! amazing food, I recommend the carnitas flautas. My daughters enjoy looking at the cool ceiling tiles. So creative!

Been here a few times and food isn't bad. While it's not the greatest Mexican food, I always can come back here for a taco or a burrito when I am hungry and I don't want to go far. I usually get the hard shell tacos either chicken or beef with beans, chicken is my favorite by far. It's grilled perfectly so it tastes really good with all the fresh veggies on it. Same with the burritos from this place, which are a great size though I usually have a hard time finishing them. I love that they bring chips too, which is perfect if you're eating a burrito or to scoop up anything that falls out of the tacos. Also they have great specials like taco tuesday and burritos on thursday so if you don't have a lot of cash but want a good meal this place is it. Tijuana flats is famous for their sauce bar, and they label everything so you know what you're getting. Huge fan of that too, since I always love my tacos with an extra kick. Great beer selection, while I haven't ordered a beer there previously they do carry good Mexican food companion beers (if that makes sense). Atmosphere isn't bad either, weekends you have family, weekdays you have workers from the surrounding offices (packed usually at lunch fyi) and in the evenings you have the younger crowd. Love how it has low lighting at night and the art on the walls and ceiling tiles are some of my favorite to look at while I'm waiting. Service is good too, all the staff is friendly and very informed about the menu as well as the fact they are always smiling and happy to see you. My only issue is that getting your food to go takes a good amount of time, but the food is worth the wait. So you can't complain too much about it. All in all good food, good atmosphere and great service.

When I feel like a really good taco I go to Tijuana Flats. I know that I won't have a long wait and it is one of those places that never lets down. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. I enjoy the chicken tacos and nachos. I especially like that they run specials throughout the week. My favorite is Taco Tuesday!

  • Frank A.

This place is the best on Tuesdays, 2 tacos chips and a drink for 6 bucks, can't beat that deal, Enjoy going there from time to time. Food I'd better than Lime of course. And the service is very prompt, I normally ordered for pickup, I walked in the food is already for me.

I love the Nurrito bowl with steak and the cookie dough Flautas! They are delicious and I'm never disappointed!

My sister doesn't have a yelp so I have to do this because of what I heard from today. My sister went to this restaurant a bit before closing time and the cashier/employee made my sister and her friend feel uncomfortable about them getting there. Throughout their dining they could hear the employee complaining about her patience running low and it made it very uncomfortable for the two girls dining. Lastly when they both left all the employees nicely said bye to them but that same employee said "bye Felicia". Please do not hire people who are not going to treat your customers nicely because it will bring your restaurant down. Also, their food took a while but it was good. Still not the best experience

Grat food this my secon time I have tried the tacos and they are amazing so is their chimichanga

  • Amanda J.

I ordered online and when I got to the restaurant the order wasn't fully completed yet so the manager gave me 2 free drinks while I waited on the rest of my order. The order wasn't complete because he wanted to make sure I wanted certain things on my burrito. I appreciated that extra effort instead of just assuming I wanted something and get it wrong. The food was delicious. We have recommended this place to several people and I will continue to do so.

This is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant. The seasoning on all their foods are just to die for! Especially the chicken quesadillas (my fav!) Another food that's excellent are the refried beans. Better than any 'top notch' restaurant I've ever been to. The customer service is great, never fail to greet you when you come in and always have a positive attitude! The environment is always clean and tidy. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Can't beat the price, quality and sauces especially on Tuesday with Taco Tuesdaze! 5 bucks for two tacos, chips and a drink. The staff is super friendly, too!

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Their Tijuana Chicken Burrito provides a tasty and filling workday lunch. Front of house staff is pretty courteous. I liked the faux punk-ish roadhouse decor. Entrance signage and landscaping needs some improvement. ANALYSIS: Tijuana Flats had been noted in my bookmarks for sometime based on the mention of various Yelp and non-Yelp Associates residing in the 954 zone. Working close to the county line, I took advantage of a Friday lunch hour to venture over the border for variety in my Tex-Mex dining options. For starters, I like that similar to my usual Mexican spot you can preorder your lunch online. You set up an account on their website, spec out a time and can customize theamount and placement of your toppings to your heart and belly's content. I also like that unlike most other similar restaurants they have three different burrito sizes. This being my big lunch, I ordered their mid-size Tijuana Chicken Burrito. I was a little confused by a topping called "powerlite" as I have no intentions of glowing in the dark, and liked the fact they called back to explain it was their cheese. Foodwise the portion, texture and taste met and exceeded expectations. I especially love their tomato sauce as it had jsut the right amount of kick for an extra workday oomph. Food temperature remained pleasantly hot during my fifteen minute drive back to the office. Easily a 5-star Workday lunch! As mine was a to-go order I didn't get to see much of the restaurant. However, I did notice faux old license plates, garage stickers for as previously noted, a punk roadhouse decor. Where additional efficiencies are needed are in the signage. Although located close to I-75 right on Miramar Parkway, the entry sign appears partially obscured by palm trees and I had to drive around twice. Being picky I suppose the package could be closed a little better as it opened on the road and I had a little bit of a salsa mess on my desk. However, performance was acceptable and I plan to continue to do culinary business with this location.

If you've been to one Tijuana Flats, you've been to all of them, right? Like any other chain restaurant, inasmuch as food is concerned, there really isn't much variation. I mean, sure, in comparison, one restaurant may execute a given product better than another restaurant, but, for the most part, it's all the same. So really, there probably isn't much I can say to you about the food that you don't already know. Burritos are jam packed with everything from jalapenos to cheese to lettuce to tomatoes to beans to chicken to blackened chicken to steak to a bevy of other delights. There are chips and queso and soda and beer and --- for the adventurous eater in all of us --- a great selection of hot sauces. I mean, the hot sauce bar alone gets me in to any and every Tijuana Flats. This Tijuana Flats, though... I feel that the service is just exceptional. That's what I really wanted to talk about. I know that, as a whole, Tijuana Flats offers good service. Smiles and friendly questions and whatever else entails a good service experience. Man, I don't know if management has a knack for hiring good company reps or if Miramar just has an excess supply of nice faces, but this Tijuana Flats certainly succeeds in this department, and it warrants the mention.

This place is delicious! I usually get the Bangin' Chicken Burrito (a bit spicy since the chicken has buffalo sauce) with Queso on top but their tacos are just as good! The chips with queso are awesome or you can make it a meal with beans and rice! Yummy! I come here every month!

  • Mike U.

Good place to seek a quick Tex-Mex bite with a great selection of hot sauces at their self-serve bar. From mild to hot or extreme, however you want to start tearing to your liking. Food is decent and brought to your table by the staff. The hard tacos are delicious, big and tasty with the works. Good quick bite!

  • Rae K.

I can't say it's authentic Tex-Mex, but I can say that when I can, I go at least once a week. The dos enchiladas chicken with verde sauce and everything but (sometimes) onions and jalapeños will keep me coming back without fail. Fair prices, lots of good weekly deals and specials.

Always greeted with a smile, food is consistently great - & they offer a teacher discount too, always a good thing :)

Have been a regular loyal customer at this location for the last two years. My husband and I go at least 3 to 4 times a month. After tonights experience, I will never return. I ordered a chicken salad and into my third bite a long hair comes out. It just so happens a staff member was nearby and I call her over as I finish pulling it out of my salad. Her reaction was a disinterested "sorry about that", I will make you another one. Does this happen so often that it isn't even a surprise? Within minutes a second staff member brings out a new salad without a single word. I'm waiting expecting a manager to come talk to us, apologize and produce some reaction that indicated this wasn't normal. Not a single person returned to our table. I was stunned and at this point infuriated by their abysmal customer service. I will never return to this location!

This is my favorite restaurant! They have a good selection on their menu and the hot sauce bar is amazing. You order at the counter and can select the size of your food, toppings, etc. If you're going to order a soda, definitely get your order made into a meal because the soda is included and the rice and beans are excellent. Also....try the chips and queso....it's addictive. You can even order your food wet with sauce or queso on top. They bring your order to your table and check back frequently to see if you need refills or anything. Try all of the sauces but be careful....some of them can be pretty spicy.

Love the sauce bar, from as mild as you want it to as hot as you want it. All menu items I have had have all been really good. No complaints here!

Love this place. in a small shopping center not easily scene from the street. The restaurant its self is pretty cool with the artwork and signs. Staff has always been friendly. They have a large menu even a section of healthy options. I order the "Flautas" and they are awesome, crispy and fresh. the dessert is the Cookie dough flautas ("omg" is all i can say ... delicious!) . Variety of Salsa's to choose from, and they also sell beer!. good to stop by at any time or any day of the week.

Tijuana flats has to be one of my favorite tex-mex places. The food is always great and fresh as well. They have a wide variety of sauces and when I say wide I mean over 15. From sweet to spicy to unbearable! The staff at this location is super friendly and attentive. They must have asked me if I needed anything at least 5 times. It gets pretty full around lunch time as you would expect but it's still worth it. If you're in the mood for tex-mex, this is definitely the place to go!

  • Shandi B.

This is the place to go for delicious, greasy, you-know-it's-bad-but-it-tastes-so-good food. This location is larger than its Cooper City twinnie, but the food is just as delicious. The sauce bar sets it apart from other Mexican fast food places, but I always stick to the sweet chili sauce - no heat for this gal. If you are dining in, you have to try the fried taco... It doesn't keep or travel well, but if enjoyed fresh out of the kitchen, it's a crispy crunchy flavorful delight!

Great tex Mexico food. Loved the hot sauce bar. The service was quick enough for 8 hungry folks and did not need to order a whole lot of appetizers. Great for vegetarians and best of all the price is very reasonable. Will definitely try it out again when I'm in Florida next.

I originally gave Tijuana Flats a bad review because they screwed up my order on my first visit, but I have been there many times since that experience and had to change my review rating. This place is excellent. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent as well. I especially love the assortment of hot sauces. Love this place. I eat there like twice a week.

I loved the Tijuana nearby when I went to school at UF. (Although the background story moral behind the business is: have wealthy parents to give you money to start a business. I read the story on the table and wondered what exactly the accomplishment was..the kid got handed 20 grand straight out of college to start it..cool story bro). That was years ago before they changed their menus I guess. Our first impression was weird. We get to the line, grab a menu and are immediately asked what we want to drink (while standing to decide on food). Drinks come back to us, and we now have to carry them through line before we get our food. I mean, if I were particularly thirsty this would be cool but it just seemed strange/mistimed. Looking at the menu it just seemed to be redesigned to be over-complicated. Get to the register and it seems ordering is even more over-complicated than the damn menu. I swear we answered about 10 questions during the order between the two of us. Got our food after a decent wait and it wasn't anything spectacular. I got a chimichanga (because like most Americans I feel the need to eat everything fried) and my husband got a burrito. Food came out to around $20 for us 2 and it just seemed a little much considering my husband got a burrito without a side or drink and I got the standard meal deal. Also, it kind of kills me that places like this have the gall to have a tip line. Are the waitresses getting paid a waiter wage or minimum wage? I should probably ask. But no offer on a refill or anything so I really don't see wtf they're asking for a tip for. They must really think their burritos are special. Whatever, lesson learned. Won't be returning.

Friendly staff.. The guy in the kitchen was singing loud which was hilarious! The guacamole and cookie dough flautas for dessert was the best thing we had.. Steak tacos are good. Dont order hard shell.. Stale.. Good place overall.. Awesome art everywhere. Try the Dont Be A Chicken Shit sauce from the hot bar

  • Kat R.

Not authentic Mexican food, also the attention needs improvement, after reading all the reviews I was expecting more. All the disappointment started at the time of ordering, the cashier made me feel in a rush to order, like in a fast food restaurant when It is not.

  • Nicole C.

My favorite food is Mexican and while authentic Mexican is hard to get, Tijuana Flats at least makes the best Americanized Mexican that I've had in a long time. Their burritos are deliciously stuffed. The Tijuana size (medium) is actually huge. There are tons of options for fillings, toppings, ect just for the burrito! Atmosphere is a bit annoying with the loud music and equally loud wall art so my family always does take-out so we can enjoy the food at home. I recommend this place to anyone who even remotely likes Mexican food.

  • Vanessa M.

My hierarchy of pseudo-Mexican fast food is as follows: Chipotle - Tijuana Flats - "Some place I haven't discovered yet" - Taco Bell Second place is still pretty darn good for Tijuana Flats. It's fast, fresh, and has tons of options to choose from. I had the beef and bean burrito. First of all, I ordered a "Tijuana" size (medium) and it was a monstrosity. I have a bigger than average appetite for a little person, and I was still not able to finish more than a quarter of it. Second of all, it was delicious! And third, I got a huge meal for only $7! There's a hot sauce station with about 20 different sauces to choose from. I loved trying all the different kinds of hot sauces before my food was ready. My favorite was the Dichicko's chili sauce--a combination of sweet and spicy, my two favorite tastes. Great for a bang-for-your-buck meal that actually tastes good.

What an awesome concept for a restaurant. It's alternative, cool and fun. It was started by a college student and it shows: cheeky (smack my ass & call me Sally) salsa names, vivid graphics on the wall, political stickers below the registers.... But it's not just the atmosphere. The food is great too. I ordered a burrito and it was quite tasty. I also dipped the tip of my finger into their hottest salsa and I'm glad it was just a tip; the sucker burned the roof of my mouth off. I love that kind of stuff though. I just wish they would expand and open more locations. I don't live in Miramar!

  • Kat T.

We had lunch here (take-out). It was just okay, nothing really special. I liked the burrito and that there were things on the menu without diary since I have an allergy, but I think the overall flavors were just okay. I'd probably eat here again for the simple fact that it's not hard to order a dairy free menu item but if I had another choice that was just as easy, I'd pick that one first.

  • Ann H.

Not a bad place, but with so many other options in the area, it's hard to find a reason to stop here unless you're looking for something different, quick, and reasonably palatable. The selection of hot sauces is really fun and you'll probably need to stop by more than once just to sample your way through them. The nachos were way better than I was expecting, given the fast-food vibe. They were served with lots of toppings and fresh jalapenos instead of the crappy canned variety and that deserves some bonus points. On the other hand, the quesadilla was really disappointing. It was really blah even with the sauces I seemed to keep adding. Overall, Fajita Flats is better than someplace like Taco Bell, but doesn't quite break into the 4 or 5 star level. I wouldn't seek it out, but wouldn't avoid it, either.

  • Jesse C.

I went here for the hot sauce. I heard that there were some hot fucking sauces. The ones that were served in the bar weren't really THAT hot, but then again I have no soul nor taste buds left. After letting one of the employees know that I think they should get a spicer variety, he made me sign a waiver and gave me some death sauce extract. It was very spicy, but not the worst I've had. The food was pretty good, the burrito was very big and enough to feed a normal human.

I cannot say enough good things about Tijuana Flats and this location in particular. Have ordered catered lunches twice in the past week. The food was fantastic and the service was just as great!

I'm not a fan of Mexican food but a fan of this place. They have an extensive menu with many yummy options. Great assortment of sauces and GREAT MARGARITAS and SANGRIA- Perfect for lunch as you don't have to wait for a server, you order at the register and then they bring your food to the table. Fast service, great food -big portions, great margaritas and friendly service.

I love the Tijuana Flats by my work. This location, however, is a different story. We called in an order on Monday night. We have a dairy allergy in the family and asked for no cheese on the chicken tacos. When we arrived to pick up the food, they forgot the guacamole we ordered and put cheese all over the chicken tacos. They said they were going to make a new order, which they did. When we got home, we opened the chicken tacos. They had only scrapped the cheese off. There was cheese melted all over the chicken. I am VERY disappointed with this location and will NEVER eat here again.

I love this place. The Tiajuana Trio for appetizer is awesome. I have had so many things on the menu and tried different ways as well, and I have never been disappointed. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner to anyone.

This place is in a shoping center in Miramar. The place itself does not stick out except that it is next to a drive through starbucks. A couple of weeks ago I was going to take my mom out for lunch. She loves mexican food. So I yelped places nearby and came up with this place. 1-the restaurant decor is trendy and cute. I love the salsa bar and the clever names they gave the different salas. The only thing I did not like is that they deliver your food to you by yelling out your name. 2-love, love, love the food. I also loved the fact that they have a 500 calories and under menu. I am always trying to find ways to cut calories. The best part is that the food on the 500 calorie menu was just was good as the regular food. I know because I had a quesadialla from that menu and my mom had a quesadilla from the regular menu. I tried them both and they were equally delish. Definetly recommened this place.

  • Talia G.

My favorite here are the quesadillas. It's a nice change of pace from big chain fast foods. They serve beer also! The servers are a bit weird but they're really nice and do their job well.... so who cares if they're all pierced-up or goth. Outdoor seating = Pet Friendly!!!

  • Elle K.

Great place in Broward for lunch. Salsa Fiesta is still my favorite burrito lunch place, along with Lime. Tiajuana Flats is a close third, the extensive hot sauce/salsa bar is fun to sample and scorn. The ingredients are typical of Tex Mex restaurants with re-fried beans, too much sour cream, and grease. The customer service is fantastic, make sure to get there early as the line can get long during the lunch rush.

This place always seems packed. Stopped by last night on my way home & ordered the Fish Tacos on soft tortilla with rice and beans. Very friendly and efficient staff. Foods was served quickly and I love the salsa bar. Now for the food. I ordered my food to go. I live close by and wanted to go home and eat. As soon as I arrived home and opened the container, I didn't like the smell...very rank smelling fish. I poked at it with my fork afraid to eat. It looked really good. I picked up a tiny, tiny piece to taste it. Worst thing I have ever eaten! The flavor of the fish was just as bad as the smell...VERY FISHY WITH A MUSHY, RANK FLAVOR as if the fish had gone bad. The portion was quite small also. I ended up throwing the fish tacos out and eating only the beans and rice. I won't go back! I am afraid this is the only thing that will cross my mind if I went back here...the smell of that fish! Yuck!!

Tijuana flats, what can I say? Modern, trendy Mexican Chain. The food is OK and the sauce bar is cool but its not the best quality. Service is good since they are always greeting you at the door and offering you the refills and walking by to make sure you are OK and don't need anything. Some times it does take a little long to get two simple tacos, but I don't mind, I rather it be freshly made to order any ways. During lunch time this place gets packed, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays when they offer the lunch specials so I recommend you get there by 11:55 AM to beat the lunch rush. Other than that, right on par.

Fell in love w/this place while away at college-and it's still got that kind of youngish, loud bar vibe. The food is good, served relatively quickly, and the staff get to know the regulars. I love that the sweet tea always tastes just right. Try the churros! My only complaint is that I wish there were more options for veggies- the only thing on the menu (Spinach Artichoke Quesadillas) can't be made into a combo meal w/2 spinach, you have to add another meat quesadilla. It's good for when you want a little more than fast food, but don't have time for a full out restaurant wait/meal. The atmosphere is nice, especially if you're trying to pep up before heading out for the night.

We come here about once every 2 weeks, and it's ALWAYS awesome. The staff is SO well trained in customer service, and the food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. We love supporting this local business. My favorite order is the 2 tacos, and if you go on tuesdays, they have them on special, $1.99 per taco, it's an awesome deal. The portions are huge, and so fresh. It's by far our favorite fast-ish mexican restaurant. If you haven't been, the way they work is you order at the counter, sit down, and one of the staff brings your order out to your table. They are also available for takeout. What prompted me to write a review was the service we got last time we went. We ordered online for takeout, and then I called saying we would be late to pick it up. Unfortunately the message didn't get relayed, and when we arrived, our food had been sitting out a while. The manager, so nice, offered to have our food remade at no extra charge. Definitely great service, I wish every restaurant was like this!

We were traveling through Miami and discovered Tijuana Flats. We loved it. We had meals at 2 locations and, although both were great, this one was the best! There were plenty of veggie options for me, and plenty of meat options for my husband. The food was cooked to order and, as a hot sauce lover, I couldn't have been more thrilled with the hot sauce bar. It has a vibrant look inside, the servers all greet you the second you walk in the door, and you leave full and happy. Fun place!

I had no idea what to expect when we found this place on a YELP area search through our smart phones. I can not wait to go back and it is all because of the crazy sauce bar they have available to compliment your food. From sweet to insanely hot, there was great fun to be had in sampling. We ordered the chimichangas and queso and the food was good. Since it was our first time we really didn't know what to order and once we sat down and had time to look at the menu again we saw other items we would like to try. I like the fact it is a Florida based chain, I liked the crazy art on the walls and the main fact that all of their staff were super nice and helpful, it was like they could tell we were newbies from the moment we walked in. I have this place bookmarked for a return visit, in fact just writing about it right now makes me want the queso immediately!

I'm a person who desperately seeks decent Tex-Mex food anywhere I live or go. Broward County definitely lacks a lot of options in this regard, so I was pleasantly surprised when I accidentally found this place on Miramar Pkwy. While it may never be as good as Freebirds or Chipotle, it is absolutely up there in the top five. Tijuana Flats offers a greater variety of items than Chipotle including Tex-Mex staples such as burrios, tacos, flautas, nachos, etc. in a fast-casual quirky atmosphere with really outstanding service. Quirky you say? How about graffiti on the wall that's deliberate? Hot sauce bar? Got it. They make it and sell it. For chiliheads, this could be as close to Mecca as you can get in a fast-casual setting. Service - absolutely a standout. You are greeted at the door and walked through your experience with as much assistance as you need. The manager and team members constantly make the rounds to clear tables and refill drinks, all with a positive, happy attitude. Whatever they put in the hot sauce must be working. I've had burrios, which come in three sizes and have options for smothering in different sauces. Plenty of other choices such as tacos, flautas, chimichangas, nachos, salads, etc. My personal favorites are the salad in a taco shell bowl and the hard shell blackened chicken tacos - well-seasoned and a HUGE portion. Add the meal option with rice and beans to round it off. They come with standard fixins - sour cream, tomatoes, olives, and lettuce, unless you want otherwise. Add to all of this a happy hour from 4 - 7 with $2 beer, and I'm there! The good: casual, family-friendly atmosphere with decent Tex-Mex staples and unique hot sauce bar The bad: Focus is on hot sauce, not salsa - ask if you want salsa The best: Their service is absolutely a standout

Love this place. Beats lime IMO. Large portions especially the megajuana. Fresh ingredients. Certain items i wish they put more meat, but they can add more for extra $$.

I've never been to Austin, Texas but from what I've heard it's eclectic, funky and laid back. That's how I'd describe Tijuana Flats - except it's in a strip mall in suburbia. Nevertheless, its a nice change as the interior is decorated with comic book art everywhere. A server usually greets you as you walk in and asks if you've dined there before and explains how to order. You grab a menu off the wall and order at the counter. Once your order is in you wait for your food to arrive. It's all very informal but everyone is friendly and eager to please. Even though you don't have a server assigned to your table, there is always someone walking around the dining room asking patrons if they need anything. They have about a dozen sauces ranging from sweet to raging hot. All the sauces have amusing names and drawings distinguish them from each other. The food is always good and I usually end up going with carnitas as my choice for meat. I've had both soft and hard tacos and they are pretty large. Taco Tuesdays is a good day to go as you can have your choice of two tacos, chips and salsa for 4 bucks. Cheap! A great place to go when you don't want to break the bank or are pressed for time to have some tasty tex-mex.

I was glad to see Tijuana Flats make it into this new, very small strip mall here in West Miramar. The shopping center also boasts my favorite Starbucks in the area. It feels like there was a "coming soon" sign on this place forever, so when it finally opened it's doors, we all were very excited. I have enjoyed it a few times, but am yet to be completely satisfied. Not totally sure why yet. It seemed a little flat to me, no pun intended. My food has been "almost" delicious. (which sure as hell beats "almost" hideous). The crispy quesadillas seem to be the most satisfying bet. The tortillas are actually good, and there's no taste of "old oil" which can mar a lot of otherwise good mexican output in some other places. The proteins, when in a burrito, have consistently seemed dry and lacking seasoning. I'll give them another shot some night soon when I have another craving. Go to Tijuana Flats, for sure. It's enjoyable and the Starbucks afterward will make it a nice night. If you really want a little more taste, drive one exit up (or the back way which only those of us in the Southwest Ranches seem to know, up 145th, shhhhh) to Lime Mexican Grill at Pembroke Gardens.

Placed our order on line and got home with the wrong order- our fault for not checking I guess. Most places check and double check for you. Everything was flavorless and extremely salty. Steak in one burrito had a hint of the smell of rotten beef. Guacamole was slightly effervescent like it was past it's time. The meal was void of any pleasure. $50 wasted. We hardly ever eat Taco Bell but were wishing for it. It would have been better. Positives: fresh jalapeño's instead of canned, the staff. This place is pointless.

First time here and it was so delicious! I ordered the chicken bean burrito on wheat tortilla (I didn't know places now offered wheat tortillas?! Cool) I'd recommend to anyone wanting a nice Mexican/American dish.

Hooray! We finally have Tijuana Flats in my hood (Miramar) so I no longer have to trek out to Cooper City! We came here for lunch today (their first week) and it was packed. Unknowingly, today they were offering 50% off for police/firefighters/EMTs/city employees/teachers - a very cool thing to do when making your debut in a new city! So we scored a bargain priced lunch when expecting to pay full price. The guacamole was excellent and we were given so many freshly made tortilla chips that we couldn't eat them all. I had the chicken and black bean tacos with lighter options for no extra charge (low fat cheese, low fat sour cream, and a whole wheat tortilla) and it was yummy. My friend's chicken quesadilla was also good. They have the usual Tijuana Flats hot sauce bar so you can spice up your food to your liking. The staff were clearly being trained and were so attentive it bordered on annoying. (How many times do you want different staff asking you if you need anything and if you're done with your plate while you're stuffing your face? And - I kid you not - staff members said goodbye twice while we were leaving and one even opened the door and shouted goodbye across the parking lot as we got into our car!) But we saw the trainer making the rounds, so I'm sure she was just trying to embed some good habits in the new crew. The girls taking the orders were complaining that they were tired and it was only 1:30 pm but we reminded them that they want it to remain busy and they agreed.

Arrriba Partners! Tijuana Flats is my favorite TexMex/lunch spot of all time. It's counter/table service...you place your order at the counter and one of their friendly staffers brings the food out to you. The offer excellent service, a huge sauce bar, delicious food, a charming and invigorating atmosphere, and great specials. The service is friendly, quick, and entusiastic. You get offerred a refill every few minutes and the staff is always happy to correct mistakes or improve their dishes if you realize you should have ordered something on the side. The ambiance is unique. Each time I go there's a different genre of music playing. There's a flat screen that's usually set to ESPN or re-broadcasts of great games (awesome). The walls are decorated with murals of dark fantasy-inspired figures (ogres, wizards, etc...). It's a total break from the mundane and a good place to get a little rowdy. They have a sauce bar with a huge selection ranging from mild to the tear-wrenching Endorphine Rush (yum). A few selections are changed out from time to time but the favorites are always there. The Endorphine Rush is not for the novice hot sauce eater...you have to be ready for that initial sweetness and then the BURN...ohh that sweet delicious burn. Your mind has to produce endorphines to combat the pain (hence the name and the popularity of eating spicy food). As mentioned by Heather J...the fish tacos are incredible. They offer them sporadically now so I've only had the blackened mahi-mahi and the blackened grouper. They are phenomenal...the fish is grilled perfectly and the seasoning is spicy and savory - an absolute MUST TRY. Most of all, my guilty pleasure is the Flautas with Pork and their burritos are a good choice if you want something somewhat-lite (make sure to order the low-fat Cheese and Sour cream a/k/a Power Lite). Their specials are great too...they always feature some kind of dish with a slight discount but my most-favorite thing of all is TACO TUESDAZE...for less that $5 you get two HUGE tacos (hard or soft), chips, and a soda. Tijuana Flats is the perfect place to pep-up a boring workday and still keep money in your pocket during these tough times.

Went for lunch again today - and luckily the overbearing-customer service has calmed down. Happy to see huge crowds keeping this place in business, even though that means there was a longer wait. But luckily they did offer to get us our drinks while waiting. Ordered the Tostadas - basically huge chips - and it was PLENTY. Tried a piece of a Taquito from my friend - delicious. Still very attentive while you're at the table, asking if you need refills or the table cleared. (I think even the manager was out chatting and delivering orders) Glad to see this place moving along nicely. :)

This has become an almost weekly spot for lunch when I'm at work. I've tried a few things on the menu here, salads, chimichangas & burritos... so far everything has been tasty, well-priced and filling. It would have to be a close call but I think the burritos in particular here are *not quite* as good as the offering at nearby Lime. I really dig the blackened chicken salads the most. It seems fairly healthy if you go for the salsa instead of dressing and skip the sour cream. Although, the salads come in a wheat tortilla shell that is so damn tasty it seems like it must be laced with something (it might be lightly fried I think). Sometimes it's a battle to keep myself from eating the whole shell. Also, the staff is sometimes overly attentive to guests in the dining area but this isn't necessarily a bad thing unless you don't like people or something. I counted 4 offers to refill my water during a recent lunch outing. Finally, something should be said about their hot sauce bar. Such a great idea... especially compared to the more traditional "rack of hot sauce bottles" thing that a lot of other places go with. The dozen or so hot sauces are just enough selection (and heat range) for just about every taste. No need to keep a bunch of old, crusty bottles here. Instead they keep the hot sauces in larger, condiment pump containers on a small counter area. I don't know if this keeps the sauces any fresher or whatever but the appearance is definitely cleaner than the alternative.

I'm not sure how long this location has been open, but I went here for the first time for lunch yesterday. For a Monday, it was quite packed--all tables were full except for maybe three just after I ordered. I ordered the regular burrito and love the fact that you can make it power lite (low fat cheese and sour cream) and on a whole wheat tortilla wrap! The food was fresh and the woman that took my order was friendly and read it back to me to make sure it was what I had ordered. It's definitely no authentic burrito you'd get in the Mission out in SF, but it was still tasty.

Love this place, good food, great service and better prices. The chips and salsa are out of this world. All they need is delivery, but I'd drive over to pickup food from this place anytime. I love their steak burrito! Also, their variety of hot sauces is amazing and if you can stand the heat, check them out. Not your typical Mexican, but excellente!

Tijuana Flats, my new love. Complete with Georgia Peach & Vidalia Onion hot sauce. Sorry Chipotle, your corn salsa will have to play second fiddle to the yummy deep fried, melted-cheese coated goodness of Tijuana Flats. While nothing will come close to the deep fried, post-hangover goodness of taquerias in California, Tijuana Flats does a pretty good job. Stepping into Tijuana Flats is like walking into an oasis - smiling faces, excellent service, delicious food, and a relaxed atmosphere that is most welcome during a hectic workday. Kind of like walking into a first-class section on an international flight. My most recent visit started with a smiling employee opening the door, complete with two menus in hand. Without missing a beat, my coworker and I were offered drinks while we decided on lunch options. We finally decided on flautas after some recommendations from our excellent cashier - our order was confirmed and we settled in with our Diet Cokes in hand. Oh, with crushed ice. Our food arrived within 5 minutes, and being virgins to the Tijuana Flats experience, we asked for chips with our lunch. Our server kindly informed us that they were available to order, but brought us some anyway for our lunch. Excellent. Food was piping hot and tasty, made all the better by the hot sauce choices that lined the wall. Our table was cleared and we got another thank you as we walked out back into reality. You can't beat the great food, reasonable prices, and excellent service at Tijuana Flats. A nice change of pace from the usual offerings in the area.

The food is great. There are many vegetarian options which are delicious. The queso is amazing! Service is always very friendly and helpful. The ambiance of the place is quirky but comfortable. During weekday lunchtime this place gets crazy though; I've had problems with almost an hour wait for my food (even though I called ahead) and parking is a hassle during that time as well. Other than lunch crowd issues I've never had a problem. If you place your order online call and make sure they received it because I've been told there are issues sometimes with that system but I haven't had a problem with it. Overall, a great place to have a casual meal.

I think the only Mexican place that isn't going to give you the runs is Baja Fresh in the Gables. I was intrigued to go to this place since our company was bidding on putting new AC in this place before it opened. I was like damn I want to try those yummy tacos. Well, I think I was giving it more points than it deserved. The food is delicious, but it's huge and expensive. So are the drinks... Don't get crazy with those sauces, they are so good but your stomach will not agree. Good luck! They need to lean up there menu :/

A must do for Taco Tuesdays! You get two big tacos of your own variety, chips and a drink for 5.99. The tacos are great, guac is killer and usually fast service. Love them!

went with two other friends, service was very good, the fish taco has so little fish in it I wondered if I needed a microscope! loaded with cole slaw, it was not a keeper. The appetizer of chips and avocado was very good, the salsa appetizer was good as well. would I go back, probably not

Great food and awesome service. As u enter ur greeted by a friendly hello by staff and immediately asked what u'd like to drink as it comes with ur order. The chimichangas are fantastic with the cheese on top and refried beans with the verde sauce. They have at least 12 other sauces of different tastes and spicyness. Ate a 1 in Orlando and the food was as good but service while fine wasn't as good as this Miramar store.

Living in Houston I know Mexican food and this isn't it. They specialize in burritos so that's what I got and it came with rice and beans. The burrito tasted like it came from taco bell (theirs are better) and the beans tasted like they came from a can. The service was good and they had a crazy big selection of hot sauces, which helped spice up the food.

Went again, this time with co-workers. Again, got there early, no line. Big line the rest of my stay. Got two beef and bean tacos. My friend ordered the flautas. HUGE portions. Could have eaten off the kids menu and been full. Fresh crunchy taco shell. The flautas though, were not like the flautas I am used to . Looks like they were flour tortillas. The guacamole and the cheese sauce taste like they came out of a tube. Not made here. Next time we will be going to LIME.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
