The Tap Bar & Grill

Hmmmph! It's a fun tavern where locals hang out. I guess the place gets touristy in the summer, but we were there in March. My nephew says that their ribs are really great, but we were there right before eating a large late-afternoon lunch and I didn't want to get too full. One can actually drink AND smoke here! Who knew Webster could be so civilized? The patrons ranged in age from the mid-20's to the mid-70's. There are regular dart tournaments and the ever-present pull-tabs (Mid-west lottery-like devices) were behind the bar.
Cheap drinks, greasy food, disgusting bar. If you are looking for a place to grab a fairly cold beer for next to nothing, but yet don't care a bit about how much black mold is behind the bar - this is the place for you. I can't say first hand that anything is actually growing that could harm you; but lets just say no one would be surprised if that was the case. The staff was friendly, even to us out of towners, and since I was wearing snow pants I fit right in - those two things give us two stars.
We were looking for a bar/grill with decent burgers, beer, and service and this place delivered in all three areas. The bartender delivered great service and the beer list was very impressive (especially for a small town bar). The burgers were tasty so we left happy and I decided to write my first Yelp review to give the place some well deserved props!

Best place around. Great food. Awesome specials. Fun place. The staff is great and it is worth a stop any day of the week. Mondays wings can't be beat and Sundays are always fun especially during football season.
This place is awesome! Amazing daily specials, great bar food and it's a Packers bar. Tons of TVs for sports viewing. And friendly bartenders and wait staff.
This is not as good as the current rating suggests (4.5 stars). It is standard tavern fare in this area. We came as a family group of 6. Best items by far were the quesadillas and broasted chicken. Worst was definitely the popcorn shrimp. A chicken wrap was unremarkable and the taco salad was absolutely gigantic but nothing great taste wise. The place is nice for convenience (right on 35) on the way in/out of Webster. The prices were reasonable. The service was pretty bad though. Long wait to get seated and the waitress seemed super miffed to even be there. She mentioned she was working for someone who didn't show, which I can understand might be frustrating, but still... On the plus side, a bloody mary I had was very good.

This is a restaurant bar on a lake in Wisconsin, and that is exactly what it tries to be. Pretty much everything on the menu is fried. The clienetele, especially at the bar, tend to be loud and gossipy. "Broasted" chicken is the special three nights a week, and there are exactly 0 craft beers served there. In short, its authentic. I love that it's not tryng to be more than it is, and that it caters to locals and tourist lookng for the Wisconsin Experience. The staff are friendly, and willng to explain what broasted chicken is (hint- it invovles beer). The fried cheese curds are fresh breaded, not frozen. You can tell from how light the food is that the grease is changed regularly, and the view from the patio is to die for. And wow is it cheap. My husband and I had seafood (fried, of course) and a few drinks a piece, and our total was under $30. In Minneapolis, we would've been looking at at least $50, and that's not taking into account the awesomeness that is the on lake patio. My advice, go Monday through Thursday. Its less busy, and you'll have a better chance at a patio seat. Just don't take mine!
Mostly fried food. Expect to be leaving here smelling like a deep fryer. Last visit was for the Friday night fish fry. Was expecting (being this place is on one of the best walleye lakes in the state) that maybe their fish would be walleye. Was disappointed to find out they served cod. Although cod isn't always bad, for a bait fish, it was super greasy and flavorless. No kids menu so kids eat full price meals. Eyes burned on the way home from the smell of grease fryers. Next time I visit I will be bringing a shirt to change into or waiting for a spot on the patio.
In contrast to the review above, I like this place. Yes, it is a bar with food in the middle of NW Wisconsin. No, you will not get gourmet food, but what you get is good and prepared well. If you don't like the meat raffle, stay away. The lodge itself has nothing to do with running the meat raffle other than being the venue. Carp at those people, not the Lodge or it's employees. Compare it's food to others in the area, a very few are on a par.
