Truly the best irish place in town. Enjoy their food every time I go there.

I've gone to Mo's for drinks a few times and always had fun. They have a lot of the typical irish drinks and I'm content drinking Guinness all night. There's live music often, a nice outdoor patio, and a spot to play darts. Until recently, I haven't tried the food at Mo's. I often avoid eating bar food because it's usually not very good and very unhealthy. But I had a really good dining experience at Mo's. I had the Guinness BBQ Chicken and Shrimp Boxty and it was amazing! The flavors blended together so perfectly and I was definitely full at the end (with left-overs too). I paid $13 for this meal but the bar food was well worth it.

Went with a work group of 24 people. We've been there several times because they can seat a large group. We all agree we will never return. In the past, we've always called to warn them of our large group, even though they didn't take reservations. They are usually snotty about it, but are ready for us anyway. They recently started taking reservations for large groups, so I called the day before and reserved the "library" dining area. When we arrived, they had 3 small separate round tables not in the area promised. Not only was it not what we reserved, it was not nearly enough seating, and we were all at different tables. I asked for the manager, who snottily told me that we had been bumped by a large group who promised them at least $1300, and that it was "only" a reservation. He said they called me (I was the contact), which they did not. I had no missed calls, which I told him. I also told him if I had been told, we wouldn't have come here. He told me we wouldn't be able to hear each other at the other side of the table anyways, so we didn't need to sit together. I told him he was bad at his job and I didn't care who could hear who, we came to spend time together and wanted to be seated together. We pushed the round, small tables together and had to wait for others to leave in order to get enough small tables and chairs. The food has always been sub par and way overpriced. $15 for a salad? Seriously? $20 for 3 shots of whiskey? Really? For those prices, the food better at least be good. It's edible, but not enjoyable. Their drink specials cost the same as regular price drinks at most bars. We left early and went to spend our money at another bar down the street. We usually go on Friday nights, when they unfortunately have a band. It's so loud, you can't hear each other talk, and it's usually some terrible cover band. We talk until the band starts and end up outside so we can hear each other. We've had many different servers and some of them are great, some of them are terrible. Our server that night did a good job. He was attentive. Anyway, as I said, we've only gone there in the past because they could seat a large group and were close to where we worked, so it was convenient. The manager's behavior was unacceptable. He never once apologized and was very condescending. We agreed we'd rather go to TGIFriday's instead as it's better service and better prices, and we'll definitely be checking out the new BW3.

Mo's Irish Pub is batting .500 - one aporable experience and one redeeming experience. The bad experience: we waited 30 minutes for a table for 7, our entrees came out at different times, and the waiter lost our check. The good experience: they seated our party of 11 within 10 minutes, the waiter (a very gracious fella named Gregory) got our orders 100% accurate, brought them out at once, and was very attentive to drink refills and such. The fare is decent - a good value and pretty tasty. Expect to have no idea what to expect, as far as service goes.

After hearing for years how great all the Mo's restaurants were, I was finally convinced to try one, and we visited ... mo-diocrity. The food was adequate but not brilliant. The service was good but definitely not great. The atmosphere is definitely nice, but it was a bit loud, and hard to have a conversation over dinner. For the price, I wouldn't be likely to visit often. There was nothing specifically *wrong*, but nothing to make our visit particularly memorable, either.

I am not sure if Mo's in tosa presents itself as a fine dining experience but I took it as higher quality bar food... I love going to Mo's and try to go once a month. I am a veggie so I cannot eat much there but they have good beer, good bloody's and their grilled cheese is the best ever. Dip it in the tomato soup... YUM I love it!!! And I love their cheese fries (fries with a cheese sauce on the side) and their spinach dip. Take it for what it is... bar food and you won't be disappointed. Plus they have fun Irish music! One negative, the hostess was rude.

Sports bar with an Irish theme. Meh. Nothing particularly inspiring but not really offensive either. Very much like Fado's but a bit too crisp. Even the menu was similar right down to the boxty. But it was missing the "aging" that Fado's puts into their establishments. No booths that feel like they have been there 100 years and nooks and crannies. More just standard open sports bar. The bartender was friendly and fast and had a nice crowd for a Wednesday night. Next time I'll drive a bit farther down Bluemound and try one of the more "authentic" looking Irish bars further into Milwaukee. Would I go there again or meet someone there? Sure... But go out of my way to make a night of Mo's? No way...

For those days when you need happy hour to begin at 3 pm... Mo's has become my go-to place when I make a stop in Milwaukee and am looking for a place to meet some friends out for drinks, without having to deal with the traffic downtown. It's always about the drinks here, so I can't really report on the food, but it's relaxed, always lively inside and the staff is seemingly friendly ( though service tends to be slow). If I want to catch up with friends and have a conversation, we grab a table in the dining room. If not, it's off to the bar area to enjoy the frequent addition of live music.

First couple of times here, over a year ago were a bit hit and miss but a Peppercorn Crusted Ahi Tuna dinner Dec 08 and a Blue Cheese Burger / Chicken Dumpling Soup lunch in Feb 09 yielded better and better results. Waitstaff was attentive, pleasent and helpful.. although this last visit we were only one of four tables dining. Can get crowded in the evenings during nights with live music. Nice Pint of Guinness.

  • diana S.

Boring, bar keep smelled like cologne - which interfered with my enjoying the $5.01 pint of Guinness. I just went to read the paper, have a beer and eat some stew (I skipped the stew.) Reuben quesadillas? Blech.

Always a nice visit at this location. Good drinks, tasty food, and fun atmosphere. If you get a chance try this place out for St. Patty's Day or New Year's Eve. It's busy, loud, but a lot of fun.

Keep in mind that we are in Wisconsin.... but this really is one of the besy Irish bars in the area. Try their Sunday brunch... really Great stuff!

Now, let me justify this high rating by saying "location, location, location." I'm no huge fan of the Mo's restaurants in Milwaukee, but it was a brilliant move on Johnny V's part to buy the old Ground Round on Hwy 100 and Bluemound Road. West of downtown Wauwatosa is basically a night-life graveyard, and the people of the western suburbs are flocking to this place. On a recent mid-week visit, I parked several blocks away. The main and secondary parking lots were full as well as the side streets immediately surrounding the restaurant. Considering the fun, upbeat atmosphere and lack of other, more interesting options, I can't imagine this will change anytime soon. Overall, a friend and I enjoyed our meals, a reuben and a pub burger, and appreciated the nice beer selection. The place is huge, with various rooms and a nice outdoor patio. Again, a good choice for a dinner with a group, happy hour, or a dinner out in the 'burbs.

Mo's brings back some memories. I used to own the I Can't Believe It's Yogurt shop across the street next to Edwardo's Pizza. So for 3 years I always saw a packed Ground Round 7 days a week, and due to some corporate blunders, all the GR's closed around this area. So, after many years of seeing an abandoned GR building, Johnny V took it down and built Mo's. I went there for the first time the other day for a business lunch. We switched tables once hoping for a reasonable volume, but alas, no luck. It was hard to carry on a conversation because of the noise levels between customers and TV's. The reuben sandwich I had was good and the server was prompt. Probably will go back, but not for a business meeting.

I really like Mo's. I'd say I'm a regular. I really like their food and staff. Every time I go I feel well taken care of and full of delicious Shalaylees when I leave. Other reviews say thats its not authenitic irish, I'd agree but the Sheps pie is still delicous and so are the Reubens. I don't really care that I'm not listening to irish tunes constantly, who wants that all the time anyway? It would drive me crazy! And you have to try the chocolate cookie with ice cream, its served hot and is awesome!

I wish this place had better food because it is in such a good location and has a cool vibe, but I always leave feeling like "eh that was ok" Its not bad by any means. It just gets what Yelp Descirbes a 3-star review as: A-ok.

  • Violet P.

Great patio on a nice day, $5 apps, and drink specials from 3-6 PM, what more can I say?? All Full size appetizers excluding the nacho plate and sampler are included. Bacardi, Smirnoff, and captain cocktails for $3.75 and specials on wine and beer as well. Usually very good service and great atmosphere. Does tend to get a little loud but a fabulous place to come for some after work drinks!

Trivia Tuesday bright my friend and I here. Added bonus to the trivia night was representatives from summerfest and free tickets/gear! Those were the only things we won that night. Place was just A-OK. Fairly good beer selections, and our food was decent. I'm not dying to go back, and I wouldn't say no to going back.

Went here for none other than St. Pat's Day, of course :) It was pretty busy, as expected. We were told it was gonna be 45 minutes wait on a table, so we grabbed a drink at the bar - but it only took about 20 minutes for us to get called for our table! Definite plus. They also had live music which was kinda cool. Our waiter was awesome - I wish I remembered his name. He was really friendly, in a good mood - and was even running around in a full on leprechaun outfit for some of the time (he even put it back on so my sister could get a picture with him in it) He was awesome. I also saw some green cocktail that wasn't a green beer and he found out what it was for us - green shamrock, super yum!

Went in for lunch on a Friday. Great fried chicken strips and great shrimp skewers. Service was timely and friendly too.

$10 cover for St. Patty's Day - no specials, weird/slow service, and an interesting U2 cover band. $5 for 8oz of some IPA. What. I have been here on a "regular" day and then too there's nothing to rave about. It's so average, it hurts. I would only come here if a group of friends insists on it but even then, I might have to lie about taking my imaginary pet dog to the imaginary vet for some imaginary vaccine shots. I like the fact that they have a parking lot and that the space is pretty big so there's that..

I love this place.....i just read a bunch of awful reviews and that's a shame. The food is good, i have never had bad service....hey if you want to have your butt licked, go to a bartolattas establishment...it is what it is, and it is good.

Absolutely do not eat here if you have gluten intolerance or celiacs. Asked the waitress if my brother's dish had gluten in it and explicitly told her there should be no gluten. She said that there was none and it turns out that there was. My brother is horribly sick from the gluten and it flared up on him hours before his college graduation ceremony. If you're going to reassure a customer that there is no gluten in something, you'd better make damn sure that there isn't any. Allergies and intolerances really affect people's lives and aren't just a simple food preference.

I've been to Mo's probably about a half dozen times, and I've always had good experiences. It really does look and feel like a real Irish pub. My husband and I got there around 11:30 am for an early lunch with friends. When we arrived, there were very few people there. We were able to be seated immediately. (As time went on, however, it definitely became more crowded. Especially with this being football season). The staff was very nice and welcoming. We started with an appetizer of their cheeseburger shalaylees. It is ground beef and American cheese with sour cream stuffed inside a wrap and served with Guinness barbecue sauce for dipping. I highly recommend it. For my meal, I had the Mama O'Malleys Homestyle Burger. Oh. My. God. This burger literally melts in your mouth. It is a never frozen Angus beef patty topped with a pat of butter and served on a butter bun. A fabulous burger, indeed. Talking about this burger is making me have a craving for it. I think I may have to make a return trip to Mo's very soon.

My friend and I walked into the door before two white ladies. I'm smiling, talking to my Hispanic friend, and say hi to the two white hostesses who did not greet us when we walked in. Instead, they greeted the white ladies behind us first, and they paid no attention to us. So I stood there and stared at one of them, and she literally acted like I was not there. As I was looking at her face, she knew she was ignoring me and she knew what she was doing. I felt out of place and discriminated against because I was Asian and my friend was Hispanic. I could see in her eyes just the level of discrimination and blatant racism, and she knew she was servicing them before us, even though we walked in before them. "First come, first served," right? It was definitely bad vibes as soon as we sat down. I understood that since we were going to an Irish place it would be predominantly white, but my god. I thought racism could chill for the moment cause my friend and I was having a good time catching up. My friend and I just wanted to chill, eat, and drink. Nobody has time for racism. We got our table, and the server is nice. Dude was chill, didn't bother us and sorta checked up on us. Service wasn't bad, but it could be cause we went before busy hour. The menu was honestly overpriced for what they had. I came to an Irish place to eat Irish food, and yet all they had was AMERICAN FOOD- burgers, steaks, and just food you would find at Applebee's. I honestly don't know what Irish people eat, but that's why I went to this place. If Irish people eat the same food as Americans, white people there is no variation in your foods at all lol. Overall, it was a bad experience. That racist shit just rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not going back there again. Hope this helps future goers and the business. Do you really want racist ass workers, or is that shit encouraged cause everyone in there is white?

I would like to share a recent experience my husband and I had at Mo's Irish Pub in Wauwatosa on Sunday, January 25th. My husband received a $100 gift certificate from one of his clients to Mo's Irish Pub. We planned our Sunday around having lunch at the Mo's in Wauwatosa so we could put part of the gift certificate to use. We arrived around 12:30 and were seated promptly and right by the fire per our request. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and our food was great. It wasn't until we went to pay the bill that an otherwise pleasant experience ended in disappointment. Our bill was $25 and some change. We gave our waitress the gift certificate along with cash for her tip. She said she'd be back she just needed to check with the manager about the gift certificate. She came back to our table a few minutes later and said she had some bad news. Apparently we were not allowed to use the gift certificate unless we used the entire amount. The waitress apologized and handed us the bill again and said maybe we can come back again with some friends to use the whole amount. Mind you, we were at lunch with our 4 1/2 month old son and it's a rare occasion that we can get out of the house. Not to mention we went out of way to have lunch there since it's not close to our home. My husband and I aren't ones to complain so we simply paid the bill with other means. However, looking back I wish I would've have asked to speak to the manager. I looked over the gift certificate when we got in the car and it does not specify anywhere that you must use the entire amount in one sitting. It's extremely disappointing to be told that you cannot use a gift that was given to you and I'm sure the person who gifted it would be even more disappointed to hear about this experience. To us, it would appear that issuing a new gift certificate for the reduced amount after our bill had been removed from the $100 would have been relatively easy for the manager to do, and since he/she wouldn't, the customer service for our experience seemed lacking. If this is a normal policy it would be wise to note on the gift certificate that the entire amount MUST be used at once. Also, in a situation like this, the proper thing would have been to have the manager come and speak with us not leave the server to do the dirty work.

As we drove up to this place, I exclaimed "Holy crap. It's Dan McGuiness!" For you Nashville folk, you know exactly what I mean. The signage, the decor, everything screams damn ol' DanMcG. It's a fairly large place in a stand alone building. We had no trouble finding parking, which is always a plus. I opted to try a local brew. Yeah, I know Milwaukee is like the beer capital and all, but have you heard of "Spotted Cow" Nashville Yeeps? I hadn't. I rather liked it. Once the live band starting playing, I couldn't hear a dern thing. But it sure did get a lot of folks up and boogying on the dance floor! With so many beers on draft, and plenty of space to move about, it's easy to see why Wauwatosa residents like to hang at this bar.

Very busy lunch crowd. Their food is decent, not spectacular, but good enough. Service can be slow, simply because of the number of customers here. A good place for drinks after work and a nosh!

WOW! This place is hopping! I was there on a Thursday and you could barely get in the door. The place is huge and that's a good thing. Now getting to the table was another story. I felt like I was back on the defensive line trying to get to the quarterback as I was being escorted to our table. It was very loud and looked like the place to be after a long hard day at the office. After-all it is a Pub! The waitress was very pleasant and offered the drinks in which I declined because they serve Coke products. No worries they have plenty of other good things to drink. It seemed like we had just ordered our food and the delivery server was placing it on the table in front of me. The French Dip was outstanding! Plenty of TV's for those sports fans and all in all a good dining experience.

Mo's was alright - went here on Friday around 7:00, being St Paddy's weekend there was about an hour wait. Well we saw an abandoned hightop in the bar area and grabbed it. It took almost 15 minutes for a server to come over and acknowledge us -but in his defense he seemed pretty swamped. We each got a beer and ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer. We both love them, but neither of us were crazy about these. The pickles themselves were stringy and lacked the awesome vinegar flavor that balances the batter usually. Service picked up and he was pretty attentive - not to mention that the food came out very quickly. I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The cheese was not melted at all in the middle and I had to pick out significant chunks to be able to swallow it. The soup was very good. Once we were done eating our server re-upped our beers and delivered the check promptly. I might stop in for another happy hour, but would never pick this place for food.

This place seems to always be busy. They have 2 parking lots. Sometimes those parking lots get full! But don't forget to check the back. The service is usually very friendly and welcoming. Sometimes this place is super packed, and with a packed place, the service can slow. One time we had terrible service but the manager did everything to make it right. The manager was super professional and apologized profusely for the service we had. It also can get very loud, because it's busy and because of the live music they frequently have. If you're there to catch up with friends you haven't seen in a while, I recommend sitting outside when you can. Food is pretty good. My sister swears by the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I had their buffalo chicken salad, which is OK. But I love their veggie black bean burger. AMAZE BALLS!

I went here last night and ordered the fish and chips..don't do that. I expected good Irish fish and chips not frozen fish fingers. Every where in Milwaukee has a fish fry on Friday night, this one was disappointing. I gave 3 stars because I have been here a time before this and the nachos were delicious and huge. Let's be real, you can't really mess up nachos. Nice atmosphere and a dj on Friday night's.

Good ol' Mo's. Mo's sits at one of the most busy / terrible intersections bordering Wauwatosa and Brookfield. In business for a few years now, Mo's replaced the Ground Round - an obvious upgrade for the area. Since that day, Mo's is always been a neighborhood favorite. Mo's can be great for a lot of different things which makes it appealing to a variety of crowds. What is Mo's good for? - Business lunch - Outdoor lunch during the summer - Happy hour - Live music on the weekends - Friday/Saturday nights - Outdoor drinking on a summer night - Parking (two different lots plus street parking) What isn't Mo's good for? - Brunch - Burgers - Low Prices Mo's always has a good atmosphere and its unique in the sense that you can choose what area/vibe you wish to encounter. During the warm months you can choose to dine outside and enjoy the weather. Inside you can sit at one of two bars, or dine in the main area by the bar, or dine in the more intimate/cozy area behind the back wall. Depending on how busy it is though, you might not have that choice. On weekends they usually have live music and people seem to go crazy about it dancing and having a blast. There's a good amount of craft beer and the food (for the most part) is good. The service can be slow sometimes, but that's usually because it's busy. I've been here many times, for a variety of different ocassions. I'll be here again and although it's not my first choice of bar/restaurant it's never a bad choice.

Have eaten here several times over the years Nice choice of dining rooms. Ask to be seated in the sports bar area if you like to watch tv and enjoy the raucous fans. They have a quieter green room (still w/ tv but usually no sound), and the "library" section of the sports bar isn't too bad for conversation over the tv noise. Burgers are great, reubens & rachels are excellent, salads are pretty good (not the shrimp which is always overcooked and sometimes freezer burnt), fish try is good. Soups are always extremely salty. Nice selection of tap beer. Generous gluten-free choices. Wait staff are exceptional. Ample off street parking. Wheelchair accessible.

Unhealthy American bar food done about as well as you'd expect. If you're going for predictable & generic pub fare, Mo's is fine and they're one of very few places in Tosa to be open past 11pm. Wine, however, is atrocious. At least the cutie-pie bartender let me try a bunch of wines so I could confirm how bad they all are. (Why bother to carry wine if you're only going for vision-theft wine?) if you're a desperate & hungry traveler, Mo's will do. Everything else in area closes by 10 or 11pm anyway. Sigh.

So my first time visiting Milwaukee, and am here for only 2 days on business. Traveling alone, so I wanted to experience what the city had to offer...so, went to Yelp and searched on Restaurants in Downtown and also, Nightlife Downtown. Mo's showed up on both..so what the heck..I ventured in. What really drew me to Mo's was the Corn Beef and Cabbage dinner they had..and a good selection of beers. I was hoping for a bit more action, but it was Tuesday around 8:00pm when I walked in. I guess too late for the after work croud, which I get. So I ordered a beer and the a fried Calamari as an app, and "the pride of Mo's" .. Corn Beef and Cabbage. The waitress was friendly and accommodating when I asked her to recommend a local, amber colored beer...she told me about an Octoberfest.local brew. It was served cold, and the Calamari came quickly. Both were very goos. The Calamari was warm and a bit crunch the way I like rhem..but tender inside...really good. Next came the CB&C ... I was dying for it. It was pretty good I must say. Not as good as mine when I make it at home on St Patty's Day...but one of the better I have had out...it tasted home cooked, rather than some lame dish many serve. All in all, a nice time out! I'd gladly come again!

After a Saturday afternoon of dealing with the Sprint Store (who doesn't need a pint after THAT?) and running errands, we decided to skip cooking and stop into Mo's. It'd been a while since I'd been here. We enjoy it, just don't think about it (McBob's tends to be our go to.) We had a great meal (burger and a boxty) and quick, pleasant service. It's a bit out of our price range for a weekly stop but we'll be back for sure. I appreciate a clean place to eat; great service; and interesting menu. Mo's delivers on all three. We'll also have to keep an eye on the specials to keep the costs down. Thank Mo's for restoring our faith in dining out;) juli peterson

Location is great. Parking is a bitch, a bear, a pain in the ass - take your pick, it's generally never good no matter if it's Tuesday, Sunday, Thursday, Friday, midnight, 11 am, or 6:30 pm. Doesn't help that there's construction now, too. I'm not Irish, so maybe that's my problem. Generally I can find a few things I'd like to eat on their menu (shepherd's pie, corned beef, chicken strip appetizer, wedge salad, burger), but it's the price that kills me. This place is a bit spendy for what it is, if you ask me. I do like their $1 chips & salsa special on Tuesdays when they have team trivia, though. If you are watching your calories, just leave. Everything here is insanely huge or calorie and fat-ridden, which is fine in a way because it is pretty dang tasty (and expensive), just really bad for you. Service is usually pretty decent. I would personally say this is not a good place for groups, because it's always crowded. But then I'm also usually there IN a group, and so is every one else it seems (which is why it's so crowded I guess), so go figure. I'd say its groupy-ness has made it not good for groups. That's about all I can say!

It was okay, nothing special. The chicken wings as an appetizer taste like frozen Tyson wings with some mediocre hot sauce. The pickle chips had a weird breading on them; more of a corn meal breading would've tasted way better. The guacamole was average and the chips weren't that good either. Our waitress was okay, just plain- not very exciting, kind of reminds me of my boring aunt. It was supposedly happy hour but my spotted cow was $5.......how is that a happy hour? Just a real average place to go to, I wouldn't be against going there again but definately wouldn't order those plates again. Oh one more thing, those little hamburger things on the appetizer menu are good- only thing that would make me come back.

We had been wanting to try this place for a couple of years and after we couldn't get into The Cheesecake Factory we decided to try it. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The service, which a lot of other yelpers have complained about, wasn't bad but the food was so bland. I ordered a burger which I thought was one of their speciality burgers but it had no flavor. My wife ordered the ruben and the corned beef was tough and dried out. The chicken tenders we ordered for our son was the best meal of the night. There isn't much chance we will be returning.

In town for work. Service and food were good, but I'm sorry if you call yourself a Irish pub and you have Guinness plastered all over the place. You have to know how toa make a proper Black and Tan. This place did not! They should have the "Irish" removed from the sign. That's the reason behind the 3 star rating

Had lunch with my Dad- fish and chips and french dip plus apple crisp. All pretty good with great service. Definitely be back.

Went out to Mo's with the team for trivia night. Even with a group of 15, our server was nice and professional. He came back frequently to make sure our glasses were not empty. I ordered some wings - they were Ok for bar food. Trivia night was really fun even though we came 2 (if counting backwards)

If I could give 0 stars I would. My friends and I were seated for more than 20 minutes (not exaggerating either) without a single waiter greeting us or even with an attempt to say "hi, I'll be right with you". Just nothing. So we just got up and left. And there was still no one to even ask if anything was wrong or why we were leaving. I will NEVER return. And I didn't want to pull the race card out but I was damn near about to!! Just horrible. I should've payed more close attention to the other reviews made about this place because all of them were right.. Just horrible service!

It rises out of the suburban sprawl like a bank building or a retail store with a huge wrap around outdoor patio and beer and drink prices that are higher than they should be. What to expect at this "Irish" pub? Well, it is too big to be a pub, and too generic to really be Irish at all. The small front bar has more of a pub feel, yet the "back room" (common in Irish and English pubs over in the UK and Eire) seems more like a hotel lodge main room. There is nothing cozy about this place. The beer was expensive. On average I would say the prices are $1-2 higher than they ought to be. The food was generic. We had appetizers and there was nothing Irish about these mainly Mexican-style food options. There were TV's everywhere. This is great for sports, but gives the place an "investor owned" feel. Meh. Overall, it has the feel one would expect from a suburban version of the Irish pub, but it is not a place I would make a trip to visit.

Meh, the foods ok..a little high priced for what you get. Service is usually decent. Its more "brookfield" feeling than wauwatosa-ish, even though its officially in tosa. Verdict? Its Applebees meets a vaguely irish pub meets bw-3.

It's possible I've never actually eaten at Mo's. I know I've been inside the downtown location, but I don't remember it being anything like Mo's on Bluemound. The parking lots were packed on a Wednesday night and I was worried about seating, but needn't have. The bar part was packed and loud, but when we broke free of that and entered the large dining room, it was quieter and there were plenty of seats. My friend was late meeting me, so I started with an app since they are $5 til 6pm on weeknights for happy hour. The Spinach dip was only ok, but the bread crisps served with it were pretty tasty. I had a fancy grilled cheese with tomato soup and was very happy with it. The grilled cheese comes with bacon, avocado and tomato and the soup was thick and rich. The whole thing reeked of comfort food and in that dining room with the soaring ceiling and fireplace, it was all very lodge-y and cozy. There was live music - a dude with his guitar, which was nice though maybe a little loud for a Wednesday night when we were trying to have a convo. Overall, I was impressed, which might have to do with my impression of Mo's before this visit. Not that it wasn't a good experience. It's a solid experience. The menu is big and varied and there was plenty on it I'd like to try. Happy Hour specials looked nice and drew a good after-work bar crowd. Our server was a little over-anxious. We talked for quite a bit after we finished our meals and we nursed our last drink. I understand the checking in to see if we want refills, but once we'd said we were good, I wish he'd have just said "ok, flag me down if you need me" instead of coming back every 10 minutes. It was pushy - we weren't using up his tables and I felt like he was trying to guilt us into more drinks. I'll go back, though. It's got a great vibe, it's really the only thing like it along the stretch and my food was really tasty.

Been here for drinks and dinner watching the Blackhawks in Stanley Cup Playoffs and waitress flips it to a different game to accommodate her table in the next room. Really? Won't change back even though every other screen has that game. Go somewhere else.

Ah, you know... it's a typical Irish pub. Some stuff is very average, other stuff is a little better than that. Altogether solid place to go. I can barely remember what I had if that says anything... after thinking hard, just some chicken dumpling soup, which was very good but a tad on the salty side and believe it or not, guacamole which was quite fresh but could have used some salsa/lettuce served with it. Nice big place, get's crowded though. Lots of tv's and sometimes live bands.

I've patronized the downtown sister of this place many times. The food is equally good and the atmosphere isn't better or worse, just different. Downtown has an old worn wood feel about it. This one is clearly a new building trying to have character. Downtown goes to romantic snuggles and partytown after dark. This suburban one seems like it gets the suburban-I-used-to-party-but-I-can't-go-downtown-because-we-only-have-the-babysitter-until-nine crowd after dark. This suburban one is actually probably better for dinner dining. Bonus - two parking lots! We had six people and walked in for dinner on Saturday night. We were seated right away which was awesome, but it was ragingly loud inside. There was a large patio that I have to believe would have been better from a sound standpoint, but we were inside. The server was friendly and attentive. Great job. The food was great as usual and portions are large. I had the Reuben Boxty, someone else had the BBQ Shrimp Boxty, someone else had the Irish dinner, someone else had a portobella burger, someone else had the Rueben Shalaylees. Everyone like their food and the Shalaylees got top marks. I'm happy to come here again for a solid dinner.

By the end of my burger I was quite satisfied with my meal. The fries were also tasty and unique. The only thing that didn't get Mo's a 4/5 star rating was the service we were provided. The server we had wasn't terrible but just rather inattentive. The restaurant was busy, but not packed by any means. With a better serving experience I think Mo's would be a restaurant I could frequent on a regular basis.

I am a little torn about this place. It's a "neighborhood bar" (meaning - it's in my neighborhood) but it's been known to cause so many problems (especially around St Paddy's Day) that I find myself easily hating it just as much. Seriously - they tore down a few houses and have yet to make the parking lots they promised. Anyway - I've been here a few times, the last time was to see a live band. My suggestion, if you want to get a table - get there EARLY, as people will scramble for tables and they will also be total chotches about hording the chairs. Bring your earplugs, too - the sound guy likes to crank it pretty high. Bring your voice, as the noise level makes it hard to hear or speak to anyone. Also, make sure to bring plenty of money - their drink / beer prices are high. Is it a Bluemound standard to charge $4.50 for a Miller Lite? Seriously?? Last year we attended a private event at Mo's. The menu seems decent, and I've had their appetizers, but the waitstaff was barely there, so it was tough to order anything. In the end we didn't order anything and wound up eating the cold, gross appetizers. It's so crowded that it's tough to get anyone's attention - but if you don't have to park there, I wouldn't. If we would have to drive here, to be honest, I wouldn't have even gone. The patio outside looks pretty decent, but the road noise from Bluemound would probably make it tough to hold a conversation. They do get some extra points for having a nice fireplace inside, tho. All in all, I'd say this is the "Water Street" bar of Bluemound. Not necessarily a good thing. Well, I guess it could be a good thing, if that's what you're going for, or looking for a new Chotch-Bar to hang out in. See the Urban Dictionary for a better description : urbandictionary.com/defi…

Stopped at Mo's on a whim and was glad I did. Great pub atmosphere, decent food and Good service. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it's quite noisy... But if you want peace and quiet don't go out, right?

A shout out to the fill-in manager last night at Mo's. We were told there was a 45 min wait for a large table and we would still have to pay the cover charge to see the band. He sat us in less than 30 mins at a table near the band AND stamped our hand when we paid for dinner so we didn't have to pay the cover. Everyone was happy with their dinner too! Then only thing I would suggest is the option for separate checks.

The service is the only reason they are not getting five stars. Inconsistent for sure. The grill cheese and soup and the buffalo chicken wrap are my favorites. Very good eats.

I'm use to Mo's after dark for music and fun. I stopped in for a pint of Harp and a snack after lunch lunch time. What a different place during the day. It looks like there is a patio. and plenty of light on the inside. The service is better and easy to find parking. Quesadillas are different with mozzarella and chicken. I'm not sure i did another review but if this comes out as an update the old one was a 2 star at night!

This place is always packed so I figured it must be a pretty good spot for a casual dinner and a few drinks. Boy was I wrong. My wife had warned me that Mo's was overrated. She had eaten often at lunch with work colleagues. I finally talked her into going for a late dinner. I should have listened to her.... Food was mediocre at best and seemed overpriced for what you were getting. Menu selection was boring and limited. Service was just OK - slow and not really interested in service. Other than the girl walking around trying to sell shots, waitress never asked about another drink. Parking can be a challenge. The place is really loud too. Not where you want to be to have a conversation. Probably more a 20somthing bar crowd (and a few older guys desperately trying to pick up the younger ladies.) I can think of 20 places within 10 miles that I would rather eat at. Might come back for drinks with a large group, but that's about it.

  • Erica R.

Went here on Friday night and was only happily surprised by one thing ... with the big crowd we were somehow seated immediately. The service is pretty good, I'll give it that much. Someone in one of these reviews said it's like an Applebees for Irish food and that is a spot on description. In the future I probably wouldn't come here. Even to have a beverage here would be a challenge - it's so loud it's difficult to have a discussion without leaving the restaurant hoarse.

We were visiting family in Wisconsin for the night and she said we had to come watch a band at Mo's. I'm always game for seeing a band! We had eatin at a different restaurant so got their when the band was going to be starting soon. The place was PACKED!! We paid the $8 cover(boo that) and found our way through the crowd to find the bar. We all ordered drinks and were standing around the bar waiting for a table to open so we could sit down. A group of people got up and as we were going to take the table the waitress said they were moving all the tables in the area for a dance floor, bummer. We ended up going back to the bar and standing around. The manager was passing by and I thought it couldn't hurt to ask if there was anyway to get a table for our group, my cousin is pregnant and didn't wanna stand all night if it could be helped. The manager was SOOOOO nice and understadning. She found a table for us right away and let us sit there the rest of the night, this was above and beyond amazing of her, because of her we got to stay the whole night to listen to an amazing band! Great Place !!!!

We ate here for the first time last night. After reading some of the reviews I was a little sceptical. Those reviews were way off the mark. Everything is made from scratch and delicious. The portion sizes are on the large side (be prepared to take leftovers home). Our drinks were great. Waitstaff was very helpful. I will be eating here again!

Interesting consensus thus far. Why I agree... 1) The issue of authenticity: This is a local establishment, but still a chain. If you are shopping for history with your dining experience, and not just packing food into your mouth, it wouldn't hurt to give your dollar to an independent, Irish pub. 2) More of a sports bar than a pub: Perhaps the 'sports bar' is the 21st century rendition of the local, working class pub. So if you are going to debate the finer qualities of the classic concept of 'pub', consider my previous point.

    (2)
  • Kris P.

I know this is hard to believe, but I'm not Irish As I'm not even close to being of Irish decent, I don't care about authenticity as some other reviewers do. I've only been to Irish pubs in SF and NY...and even bartended at an old Irish establishment that was "Irish" during the day and "Asian" at night. (I know...weird but you have to experience it.) So my idea of "authentic" is slightly skewed. But I don't mind pickin' up the ole Irish accent every now and then for the Laddies and Lassies! Mo's is a good place to hang out - either on the patio, in the restaurant area, in the bar, or in their library. This place is huge. Love their live music - especially Ryan McIntyre on Thurs nights. He alone is the reason why I'd check out Mo's. My man is such a fan of RM, that I was beginning to wonder if he were starting to swing for the other team. So I finally was dragged to go see him play, and now I know why the man was so enamored. Damn good and entertaining. Burgers: not bad, but pretty $$ for a dish. Chicken wings: are ok - the "hot" sauce is like Tobasco. They also have sesame teriyaki and Mo's Guinness BBQ Beer: good selection Tips: 33 cent chicken wings from 9pm-close, daily $5.55 for a pint glass of beer that you can take home as souvenir. So all in all, I'd say this is a fun place. You can dance, yell, drink, laugh and relax. If you see an Asian lass shoutin' in a horrible Irish accent...come share a Guinness :)

I have tried Mo's a few times, and I remain unimpressed. The food is okay, but nothing memorable. We tried the Garlic Cheese Fries and the Shepard's Pie the last time we stopped in. The dishes tasted no better than the average local corner bar and cost twice as much. Every time I'm in this place it feels like it's overly branded - kind of like walking into an "Irish" Applebee's or TGIFridays.

    (1)
  • Erin B.

OK, so I know that this place is about as Irish as Olive Garden is Italian, but doesn't really bother me because I'm not looking for an authentic Irish experience in Wauwatosa - of all places. And, I know that there is no way this can be considered anything other than upscale bar food. But, I still love this place. It's always a lively crowd and service is friendly and quick. The main reason I love Mo's though is that they have the best hangover food in the city. Seriously. I think most 20-somethings in the area have a favorite "morning-after" spot to fill their bellies with grease and bloody Marys, and this is certainly mine. I live just a few miles up the road and there have been numerous occasions where the only thing that will cure Saturday night's "adventures" is Mo's grilled cheese on a Sunday afternoon. The grilled cheese (made with bacon!! avocado and tomato) is one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten and the tomato soup is always hearty without being heavy. So, if you're thinking that by walking into Mo's, you'll forget that you're in the Milwaukee burbs because it will replicate some corner pub in a quaint Irish town, you're probably going to be disappointed. But, if you take it for what it's worth, the Applebee-ization of the Irish experience, with comfort food and strong cocktails, then you'll probably appreciate Mo's as much as I do (hungover or otherwise).

Personally, I never understood the whole Mo's thing. So, I was pleasantly surprised by this place when it was suggested by a friend. Although packed, the service was professional and fast. The shrimp chopped salad is outstanding.

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago because every other time finding parking was ridiculous. We did have to wait about twenty minutes for a table, but that's because it was around lunch time and on a Friday. Our server was very friendly and quick at bringing our drinks and other requests out to us. Because it was my grandma's birthday, he returned with one of their large cookies covered in hot chocolate and ice cream with several spoons for our table to eat. Great way to top off our meal! The food was good and I wouldn't mind coming back here sometime.

VIBE: Applebee's in Boston feel. On a Sunday afternoon there were Brewers' fans catching the game on one of Mo's many HD televisions. Relaxed atmosphere and quiet enough to carry on a conversation. ORDERED: Chicken Tenders - $8.99 Shepherd's Pie - $11.99 TASTED: I have to give the kitchen PROPS here. You never go into a place expecting mediocre food but Mo's exceeded my expectations. The chicken tenders are hand-battered and served with with honey mustard and Guinness Barbecue. I highly recommend this appetizer. The Shepherd's Pie came served in a cast iron dish that may have been created during the Bronze Age. Image the black pot at the end of an Irish rainbow but single serving. This cool dish is topped with garlic mashed potatoes that hide the stewed contents below. The dish contained a few pieces of tender beef and small bits of recognizable carrots but not much else. REDEMPTION: It's funny when an absentee waiter or waitress scribbles a thank you message on your receipt in hopes you'll ignore the fact you were ignored. Cutesy smiley faces and pretty hand writing will not redeem bad service. Thanks! :) Mike

Don't want to pile on the parking situation, but it is a liability for this business and should get better once the never-ending construction on the interchange is completed. Food is just generally so-so, nothing worth complaining about nor complimenting. Nice beer selection and service is very good.

The bar seems like a great place for happy hour. The food was good, but not outstanding. My wife and I may give this place a second chance, but it's not on our top restaurant lists.

Very typical (faux) Irish Pub...but hey isn't that why you would go here? It's always packed, loud and an overall fun place to be. I usually come here after work for happy hour/dinner and it can be challenging to find a seat at the bar. There is often live music or trivia going on which is a bonus for me. The bar area is large with a tall ceiling and a lot of hard surface so it is very loud but the dining/entrance area is a lot quieter. The staff is nice and service is good. The food is solid pub food. The grilled cheese and soup is by far my favorite. The cheeseburger shalaylees and chicken tenders are also very good if you are looking for something more fried and pub-like. Overall, its a good choice if you are in the suburbs and are looking for something that isn't a huge chain restaurant and has a varied menu to please anybody.

My husband and I both had the boxty. We've had it in the past so felt we were making a "safe" choice because typically it's a pretty good meal. But it was dry; too little sauce, the pancake was hard on the edges, there was barely any cheese in the top. We both are wondering if they either got a new chef or maybe served us leftover boxtys from yesterday! Very disappointing. On the plus side, the waiter was very nice.

Good bar scene, even on weeknights. Drinks are always good, I usually stick with the lady cider (strongbow and a shot of chambord). Food is acceptable, but nothing to rave about either. Salmon is horrible, but who expects good salmon at a bar? Service is usually good, out of the dozen or so times I have been here, have only once had an issue with server bringing me the wrong drink. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for drinks in the area.

Fun for a night out to listen to a band but disappointed with the service by the end of the night. Sat down for dinner before the band and we were given very attentive service. Wanted to order the "made to order" guacamole which was NOT. Pre-made! Don't label it "made to order" if you're not going to do it! The guac was pretty good for pre-made but not what i had wanted. Everyone else at our table enjoyed their entrees. As the night went on it was obvious they needed more cocktail waiters! So much time was wasted waiting for our waiter to bring us drinks or to take our order.

This restaurant has a really good reuben, as well as, fish and chips. The skillet cookie for dessert comes to the table hot, in a cast iron skillet and served with a scoop of ice cream. The cookie is really good and slightly underdone, to perfection. The food prices are a little high, but the food is good. I really enjoy Guiness on tap, and for the second round, I like a black and tan. The draft beer selection is outstanding. The place is usually very packed, and many nights they have live music. This is a true pub atmosphere, so expect to bump elbows and to shout to be heard. It's fun!

We joined a few friends in celebrating their recent engagement. I have always been on the fence with this place, but it is a very convenient location for after work gatherings. The menu has a lot of strange variety, and there should be something for just about everyone. We had the giant nachos, and they were good. We also split a corned beef and cabbage. We wanted it more of an appetizers, but it came with a slit plate. I am not sure, but I can imagine there was a charge associated with it. I had a couple drinks, and aside from being overpriced, they were good. Our server was very nice and attentive. I will likely go back., but it usually is not my first choice for going out.

Horrible service! First it took our server ten minutes to come and take our order, there were maybe 3 other tables. My grilled chicken sandwich was still raw in the middle and when I complained to he said he would get the manager. Five minutes go by no manager but the server comes back to ask if I would like something else. My response was no. He brought a new bill in which he said he removed the chicken sandwich. We just assumed he did, however when he ran the card and brought the report back for signing the sandwich was still on there!!!!! It's not about the $9, it's the extremely poor service as the manager never did come over. In my opinion our whole bill should have been comped, raw chickens seriously!!!!

Stopped in last night to meet up with a few friends and a couple just recently engaged. I will start out by telling you that it is not my first time around with Mo's...I have stopped in for bands, meeting co-workers for a cocktail and even a couple of 'ladies nights'. Each time I am left feeling that I have overpaid for my drink and wasted my time with the 'Irish' menu. Regardless, my compliments go to our waitress, Meredith, who was very patient with our group even though several of us came in later. She just left a menu in case we needed to order more food. She is the sole reason I am giving them a 3 rather than a 2. I should also mention that the "Mo's" Cookie...is pretty much awesome. Served warm with ice cream. Still don't understand what is so 'Irish' about a chocolate chip cookie but it is one of the best items on the menu, so who cares? Much of what we ordered was standard bar fare mixed with a few dinner options. Nachos were great, spinach tapenade was okay and the corned beef and cabbage plate was large enough for my husband and a friend to share. Though I am a vegetarian (more for health reasons) I did end up eating a small bite of the chicken tenders which were likely the highlight of our dining experience. Crispy on the outside, not too dry on the inside and just enough spices. As you have already noticed, we avoided most of the standard Irish fare as we have all had pretty bad experiences with orders in the past. I definitely would stay away from what they call 'Shalaylee'. Special note to bartender 'Mikey'...you are a self absorbed jerk, have little to no social skills and if I see you behind the bar next time I am in I will likely walk right back out. Overall, I suppose I have lowered my expectations for Mo's so I would not say I had a bad time, just wouldn't recommend if you are in the market for some authentic Irish cuisine or relatively well priced drinks.

It's like Bennigans got a makeover. Thankfully, the waitstaff doesn't wear "flair," or I'd have to go abuse a Xerox machine. Color me biased, but I find it silly to deem a restaurant an "Irish Pub" just because there are Guinness posters everywhere and somebody re-programmed the Muzak to only play jigs, reels and an occasional Flogging Molly track. The service is attentive, and your meal will be just fine if you decide to go to Mo's, but don't look to be overly impressed. I was never a huge fan of the whole Mo's Empire, and this just feels like another bar/grill on a busy suburban intersection.

I was a first time visitor and tried their grilled cheese and tomato soup. I have enjoyed this meal even since I was a little kid, so I was ready to be very judgmental. I thoroughly enjoyed ever bit of this meal. The blends of the cheese and bacon just went perfect with their soup. A must have stop for visitors.

My bf and I went to Mo's for appetizers and a drink. We had nachos and cheese fries. The nachos were great. They were out of mint for the mojito I originally ordered though. The waitress had to be flagged down whenever we needed something because she must have had better things to do than wait on us. There was only one other table in the restaurant area, so I can't imagine what. She took twenty minutes to bring us the check we requested.

Went Sunday night for dinner. This is a sporty place, but cute too with the Irishness. I ordered the Irish Dinner Salad with red wine vinaigrette. Very good, no complaints. I have also had their homemade black bean burger + fries in the past, and recall that being very good. This is a solid place.

You can almost always count on good good here. If you go Friday or Saturday night, guaranteed there will be loud music. Just beware, it gets crazy loud!!!! Not the place to go at night if you're looking for conversation. Good Irish food though, not super cheap though. Most apps are $10 and entrees are $$12-15+. Double rail drinks are between $8-10.

This review concerns the banquet reservations at Mo's Irish Pub. I reserved a room at this location for an alumni gathering in early May. I went through the website and was in contact with the banquet manager. Everything appeared to be fine (several emails back and forth confirming the reservation). When I contacted her again to double check my reservation in early June, I was notified that that room I had reserved had been booked for someone else that very day. The banquet manager offered no explanation and showed little concern for my situation. It is quite troubling that my reservation was pushed aside when I had established a clear line of communication and followed all the proper channels. Moreover, the only reason that the issue had been caught was due to my own diligence in checking on my reservation. This is, quite frankly, a very poor way to conduct a business. As noted this review does not concern the food at Mo's Irish Pub, but if you are looking to reserve a room I recommend finding somewhere else.

Very average food. Wings are cheap and very fast food tasting. Bloody mary is lousy. Draft beer is the only thing I would come back for. Service is decent. I'm not picky but this place didn't do it for me.

Took my parents here after an afternoon at the zoo. This place is HUGE! Everyone had a burger or sandwich and the food was tasty. Service was pretty fast and atmosphere was rustic. Server was attentive and polite. There are often bands here and they have fun during the week specials and games. We've also come here for drinks and a quick bite after work and I've had one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup I've ever eaten. Yum! It's in a decent location but could use more parking. The hostess is nice enough to ask if we wanted to be in the room with the band or without. I'd go back for a drink or another quick bite for some "bar food".

Wasn't great. I went there on September 24, 2012 for the Monday Night football game between the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks. What a mistake that was. Here is a shortened list of things I did not appreciate AND good things. Overall, Mo's was a nice looking restaurant/bar conveinently located off Hwy 100 (108th), with horrible acoustics, overpriced pub fare, and less than hospitable environment. PROS: 1. Service was fast. It took ~10 minutes to get my wings. Server provided the general accoutrements. 2. Plenty of seating. The inside was very large, tables to satisfy all group sizes. 3. Clean. I didn't second guess anything I touched or sat. 4. Nice looking and conveinent location. The building was fairly new looking, floors were clean, bar was very clean. CONS: 1. Bartender (younger female) inferred the money I brought in for alcohol was also for my buddy's, she made poor assumption erroneously breaking my cash to smaller demonations when that's specifically what I didn't want. 2. Food was mediocre at best, nothing great about it, I had the wings, they were okay, I've had better. My buddy had the burger and they served it to him w/o anything on it. I guess he had to disclose that he wanted stuff on it...stupid, ketchup and mustard at a minimum Mo's! Also, hot wings w/o celery and ranch?! Yup, Mo's doesn't do that apparently. 3. Horrible acoustics. I sat less than 1 foot from my buddy and we had to shout to one another simply to be heard. The bar and restaurant were not full either. 4. For a place that was promoting "Packer specials" there wasn't anything said or told to me. Only after taking a piss and reading the stall reading material was I able to figure out the specials. 5. Very uncomfortable bar seating. Myself and a couple of guys next to us routinely adjusted our positions on those rocks, aka: bar stools. I think the floor would have felt more comfortable.

This is a fun place for a night out. The bar area has lots of action and sometimes there's good entertainment. It's unfortunately not the best place to eat with all the action. Saturday night waits are a bit too long for what it's worth if you're just going for the food. I've been in there hearing them tell people about 1 1/2 hour waits... crazy! I do enjoy going on a nice quiet afternoon for a lunch once in a while with others that like this place. Food is ok. Last time I got the grilled cheese which comes w/tomato on it and mine was very pink and under ripe. Yuck. But the soup it comes with is always very good. I'd go back because it's fun and has good beers.
