I could kill my co-workers for not telling me about this place sooner. Unless they just didn't know about it. I guess that's possible. Coffee: tasty Food: I've tried a bunch of different things, but didn't really find anything I liked much. They have a creative menu with lot of interesting choices. Vibe: Towny local yokal. They look at strangers differently WiFi: NO! Plugs: ?. Soy Out?: No. Score: Yerba Mate!

Typical coffee shop, not warranting a high review. I'd just say average. They do like to keep people off of this internet, which is a-typical and interesting.

I went to the Steaming Cup couple of days ago. My mom and her boyfriend said that they really like it, so they took me there on my visit to WI. I was pretty impressed. I walked in and it was very busy- it looked like a popular place to eat and hang out. But we didn't have to look for a seat for too long- within a couple of minutes we were sitting in a large booth. The atmosphere was alright- it was in a very cute location in downtown Waukesha, but I think they could have done a lot more with the space to make it more of a cozy or trendy atmosphere (it seemed really eclectic and thrown together). One thing I did really like was that they had a collection of board games to play. I wasn't uncomfortable, I just didn't get that cafe vibe. I had tea and a sandwich/soup combo. They were very good, I would say definitely better than Panera. I hear they make all of their own bread. I also tried my sister's pulled pork sandwich which was amazing, and my mom and her boyfriend raved about their prime rib sandwiches. I wish I could say more about their coffee and hot drinks, but I didn't try them. They serve Alterra coffee, though. If it were a little better of an atmosphere, I would give it 5 stars based on my experience. But that is very important to me in a cafe/coffee shop. And I hope to try the coffee soon so I can give a more educated review.

Honey latte. I visited Waukesha a year ago, had this latte with soy, and thought about it for an entire year, attempting to recreate it. This cafe is awesome - total home-town feel, very comfortable and quirky. A must-visit for coffee/tea lovers!

Looking for a little piece of awesome? What about good live music, interesting complex/strong coffees/n-a-drinks, off-the-wall flavored tea, good homemade soups, awesome sandwiches that vary from the norm, and breakfast fare/desserts to die for? Yep, the Steaming Cup delivers all of that, plus a non-franchise local feeling you can only get from small town coffee shops. for adventurous tea drinkers, I recommend the lapsang souchong butterfly tea; it smells *just* like a bonfire with burning leaves, and is very low on the sweet-side. See live fantastic folk acts like Chris Koterba, Franchesca Brown, Jerry Dank and more local talent than you can shake a stick at. Enjoy coffees, teas, chais, blended frozen drinks, soups, sandwiches and more. --oh, and my boyfriend from out of state *always* stops in for their cinnamon roll when he visits. Its just *that* good. Ask for it warmed up with the frosting and the carmel. Trust me. :)

Great place for a quick and tasty meal in company of good service and decor. The owner operators are particularly pleasant company. I've been a patron with my wife for several years and will be for many more.

This is my current favorite place for a couple reasons. First, it's usually really easy to find parking on the street nearby. Second, the staff is super friendly. Third, the sandwiches and coffee (Honey Latte especially) are amazing. The lack of WiFi isn't a big deal to me. I think the atmosphere is neat. When you sit there and look out the window at the older buildings across the street, you don't feel like you're in Waukesha. It can be awkward waiting for your food/coffee if it's busy, but I don't mind it being busy if that means this place will stay in business.

Amazing food! Hubby & I both had Prime Rib sandwich-truly one of the most delicious sandwiches we have ever had! Very large and tasty, excellent "special sauce", wonderful potato salad! We have been here before and have never had anything we didn't love! Great desserts, too!

Very quaint place with a varied selection of coffees, teas & sandwiches. Had a lot of reading materials and crayons, etc for the younger set. Cross between a cafe and a coffehouse. Good food. I will be back!

Great place...if you're used to living in the mountains somewhere...back in 1978...cuz that's exactly the feel you get here...the food is great (sandwhiches that is...if you're looking for bakery go elsewhere because their bakery case is slim and dull) and the coffee drinks are of good quality...the place is packed on weekends so may find yourself standing in a corner...my gripe about the place is it offers no Wi-Fi and it's decor is just plain cramped and honestly far too ugly for being the most popular coffee joint in Waukesha...REMODEL!!!
