Pfudpuckers

I *do* know the folks runnin' the place now so i realize my review will be a little biased. ;) So I'll just tell you how I came to find the place and why I kept going back so long that I ended up where I'm at now. First off-- if you go to Waukesha looking for "Pfudpuckers," you won't find it. It's now called "The Salty Toad" and anybody in the downtown area can tell you how to get there. Friends of mine had been here a few times in the past, so I dropped in one night to see what it was like. It was a slower night, but I had a good time. It's a great place for groups of all sizes and interests so we had fun. :) A short while later I went back with other friends and our bar tenders were awesome. Friendly, personable, remembered our drink favorites. Very cool. The drink specials are good, as are the regular prices, and I've never known anybody there to give somebody a bum deal on running up their tab at the end of the night. It was because of these bar tenders I kept going back. Now I'm there regularly and like it more and more every weekend. Friday nights there's a good sized crowd and the music tends to run towards classic rock, different kinds of techno, and KISS FM type stuff. Saturday nights the place is packed. The music starts out like Friday night music, and then shifts to primarily hip-hop around 10 or 10:30. The lower bar is long, the upper bar is fair-sized but intimate, the dance floor is about 20' across with effect lighting and fog and all that. There are two pool tables, an arcade style dart board, and a few arcade games. There's an ATM machine there, and a change machine for playing pool. I am *definitely* biased about this place- I know! But it's only because I went so many times because I had so much fun there. ;D

I used Panetta's for my 25th Anniversary party. We are from out of town and hosted our party at a house we rented on Lake Beulah. From beginning to end they helped me select my menu and stayed in touch with me over the next few weeks. On the day of the party they arrived promptly and handled every detail. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh and home made. All my guests raved about it. Thank you for making our day special.

I was completely blown away by the professionalism and quality of food Megan the owner and chef of this local, small town business exhibited! I had Megan, cater my wedding to my wonderful husband, Mitch. Being Irish we were looking for a seasoned caterer who could meet the demands of our Irish heritage and present our guests at the wedding with some splendid Irish fare! We pretty much have her carte blanche to use her creativity to craft something delicious, and fit for our special day. The presentation and taste of the food was simply exquisite! Her Shepard's pie in addition to her unique take on corned beef and cabbage really was a great addition to the wedding. I would recommend this business to anyone and everyone. And as of late I have begun to stop in occasionally and pick up some of her food in her display freezer which is take and bake meals. Her creamy and rich Mac and Cheese is a household favorite and her signature "Brookie bars" are to DIE for- a wonderful treat after a hearty meal!

My friend and I discovered this place while trying to hide from the wives. We were hosted by an intelligent and engaging bartender named Phil. The drinks were cold, the prices low. The music was good and the mascot was adorable. We have found a new hideout.

I was stunned and felt strangely under-dressed when I entered this beautiful restaurant for lunch today. Excellent food, friendly service. Not a fast food experience, more of a hang out and enjoy the meal type experience, and why wouldn't you want that with such a beautiful place and great food! The cafe is part of the larger organization, La Casa de Esperanza, whose mission is to provide opportunities for low-income individuals to achieve full social and economic participation in society, with emphasis on the Hispanic population. Yay!

My first time visiting, but won't be my last! I had a delicious chai tea latte and a blueberry scone! The atmosphere is wonderful also!
They have excellent coffee that's freshly roasted right in the store.
One of the best coffeeshops in the nation. Terrific service, excellent menu, truly fresh coffee. You won't regret trying this place out.

Well butter my rump, and call me toast. This place is awesome with all the questionable colored hot dogs and delicious rootbeer you could ask for!
I have so many fond memories of this place. My parents used to take me here after swimming lessons or as a treat on a day off. (I'm old enough to remember when there was a second stand on the west side of town on Summit as well, called Mike's. I used to bike to that one when I was a kid.) I came back recently with my dad, about 20 years later. The root beer is still the most delicious root beer I've ever had, and the food is still greasy and perfect. Cheap, too. For anyone visiting Waukesha, this is a must. Ask around to find out when classic car night is too!
Love!! John's has the Best rootbeer!! Get a jug to go for your house :) only down side is you can't bring your dogs in the outside sitting it's understandable and I understand but on those long walks with the pup that rootbeer stand is a tease!! Lol

Burgers and onion rings are the attraction for me. You can get a mix of French fries and onion rings.
I see the reviews. 5 star ratings? Really? Makes me wonder if I should give them another chance. Makes me wonder.... My two small custards to go were not impressive. I'd rather get custard at any of the other multiple custard joints in town.
Big Juicy Delicious Burgers !!! I've always loved their Curly Fries Too !! Yum Yum in the Tum Tum !!!

Great custard! Great service. Very friendly staff. Large portions. Clean. I highly recommend stopping here.
We eat here almsot once a week. staff is always nice and orders are almost always correct. I would recommend.
Oh how I wish we had Culver's back east. This is fast food the way it should be done. Culver's is exceptional among fast food eateries and they put the mega burger joints to shame.

always make a point to visit this gem anytime i am back in Waukesha--sometimes even at the expense of catching up w/the friends and family who are the reason for the trip home in the first place! they have millions of gelato and sorbetto flavors, are right next to an awesome riverwalk, and leave you feeling great for supporting local businesses if you are into that kind of do-gooding (plus discount liquor is right around the corner~) can't say i have ever tasted any of their coffees or foodstuffs b/c my body would rather its week's calories come from gelato, but what i have had is better than at any other gelateria i've tried in the US, Germany or Spain. [i admittedly have not been to Italy yet, though i've sampled enough from Italian-American purveyors to feel Divino could hold their own.] i only wish their spoons were biodegradable or could be washed & re-used somehow since i usually go through 3 or 4 per trip trying out new flavors, but i am learning to live with the guilt ^_^
Loved Divino Gelato 1.0 way back about 10 years ago. Divino Gelato 2.0 is a love hate relationship unfortunately now. As mention in my first review second owners. Recipe changed, atmosphere not as warm and inviting and prices up/portions down type management. Plus the owners are focused on 3 other shops and it shows. This original store was a place we could go all year round and our kids love it. Unfortunately this store was closed most of winter. The Brookfield Square store is open though. I guess the patrons and original store served its purpose. Waukesha patrons are captive audience in a way and no where else to go for gelato unless you go to the mall. It's too bad because downtown Waukesha needs good businesses and this was wonderful as all the newspaper articles suggest that are posted throughout the store.... Back during Divino Gelato 1.0.
I've been here a few times, but hadn't written a reveiw. There prices are a bit high, but they do overfill your dish by about x2. There service on this day was bad-the server dropped some icecream in a different flavor twice, had an angry and annoyed look on her face that put a damper on my mood. My friend loved her apple crumble flavor, my other friend enjoyed mint and I was delighted by the strawberry flavor considering I am not a fan. I would check it out and hope you don't get the same uninviting service.
