I saw the great Yelp reviews and thought, this place will be awesome! No, it was not. My Philly Cheese was really gross, and my friend had a burger that was also really gross. We were starving when we went in, and that usually means I finish my plate and then some. However, due to the poor quality of the food, I only ate about half my sandwich. And that was really hard, because like I said, it did not taste good. Another thing that bothered me was the cleanliness of the place. Like they hadn't vacuumed or taken a bucket of soap to the interior in like, months. There aren't a lot of lunch places in Rhiney so I was really hoping this place would work out. Nope.

Not a very long wait even during the busy Hodag weekend. The food was filling and very good. A good place to take a family, and it's connected to a gas station so if you need gas before you head back out you're all set! Also the free wifi was a good little perk for the hodagers! And the AC was on the full blast which was very refreshing! The wait staff and cooks were very nice! Would defiantly come back!!

What a pleasant surprise for a Sunday morning breakfast. This restaurant is a tiny part of a Shell Gas Station. We went for breakfast. There were four adults and a 2 year old. This is a regular spot for the 2 year old. She received a huge stack of 3 pancakes loaded with strawberries and topped with whipped cream. From all accounts this was amazing. The rest of us had an omelet-4 eggs, and egg sandwich, delicious and 2 "bowls" These were full of 2 eggs, crispy hash browns, meat and cheese. The portions were huge. Everything was delicious. Service and cleanliness was excellent and it is definitely family friendly. This is the only place I've been that refunds money when you ask for substitutions or deletions! Amazing. We will be back.

Convinced the family to stop here instead of a Culvers chain and we were so glad we did! Don't let the fact that this place is connected to a gas station deter you. The service was fast and friendly, the prices more than reasonable, and the food very good.

Was so very impressed with the Dinky Diner! Food was delicious and the service was impeccable!!! Had cheese curds as a breakfast item, they were soooo good! Would definitely like to try for lunch and dinner! Highly recommend this diner if you're in the Rhinelander area.

I have no clue how this place has a single positive rating. The food was atrocious. We stopped here (2 families, 5 adults and 3 kids) on our way out of town one weekend for a quick breakfast before hitting the road. The service was OK, not exceptional but not bad. About what you'd expect for a breakfast at a diner. Nobody in the group was happy with the food they were served. I can't speak for everybody, but I ordered the biscuits and gravy. My "biscuits" were dinner rolls from the previous nights dinner (I assume). It wasn't even a biscuit. It was cold and hard. The gravy was mediocre and did nothing to warm the cold "roll" beneath it. Very bland, curdled gravy with no black pepper bite. Heck even my glass of tomato juice was warm. My wife's over-medium eggs were runny, the sausage was flabby and not rendered at all. If they can't even get breakfast right, the easiest meal by far to prepare, than I am frightened of what lunch and dinner must be like. Stay away, don't fall prey to the convenience factor.

We have driven by this corner numerous time and today stopped for breakfast. Cute place. only 8 tables, so could have a wait on busy days. I had the variety stack; 1 egg, 2 pieces bacon and 1 pancake. A deal at $3.79! Good coffee that was refilled as needed. Hubby had a huge ham and cheese omelet with hash browns and toast. Really good food at a good price here!

Went for family breakfast. Met the owners today. What a great couple. The diner really reflects them. Being Sunday morning, it did not surprise us the place was full. The staff handled it well. They acted like it was just another day and gave superb service. Taste of food was awesome. Most important they cooked the eggs perfect. Not all can do over easy that well. I gave the amount of the coupon savings as tip. The price was fair and worth it.

OMG!! We were on our way home to Milwaukee from Minocqua, after a few days up north. We needed coffee, a little nosh, and a rest room! We found this gem of a diner driving through Rhinelander. Amazing service! And great coffee. The food looked yummy. We split a large bagel..THE best bagel I've ever eaten in my life! I would eat here everyday if I could!

Service was OK and friendly. But my omelette was dripping in butter. The well done home fries as requested were so dripping in butter I could only eat the top crispy part. The rest went in the trash. I won't go back here again. I took a bite of husbands pancakes. Not the greatest either. Oh well.

Good food. But even though they say they close at 2:00 PM most days, if you are not in the door by 1:45 - you won't get fed.

Amazing food and value that you can't compete with for breakfast or lunch anywhere else in town. They don't look like much from the outside as it is joined to a gas station but I promise it's worth overlooking the attached business. I have been told they have sandwiches for sale in the gas station. Smart and quick. Pancakes are great. Stuffed French toast is awesome. Daily specials are a really good deal. BOTTOM LINE!!!!! It's a must try!!!!!!!

Looking for a great breakfast in a friendly, clean environment? Look no further. The Dinky Diner is exactly 2 minutes from the Americinn in Rhinelander. We had a large party of 9 on a Sunday. We walked in and were seated within 5 minutes. As luck would have it another large party was leaving. The menu is large. There were many breakfast and lunch items to choose from. We each ordered something different from Mickey Pancakes for the littlest to omelets and french toast. The hash browns were crispy and delicious. My egg sandwich beat out the fast food sandwiches by far.One of us ordered chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. She was very happy with her choice. The coffee was hot, the juice was cold. The portions are generous and the price is right. The waitstaff was pleasant. This was our second visit there and we will make this a regular stop as we travel to Rhinelander each year! Hope you do,too.

In Rhinelander for a week and we've eaten at several good restaurants -- Fireside, Pub, Pizza Haven, but the cream of the crop is the Dinky Diner!!!! service is great. short order cook fabulous. we really felt at home. Be sure to order eggs and patty sausage for breakfast. for lunch haddock in beer batter with killer potato pancakes. Patty melt and Ruben also to die for. we ate there three times!! too bad they were not open for dinner! It lives up to it's name only in the number of tables. the food was as ample as it was delicious!
