I was practically eating here every day for lunch and for dinner for like 5 weeks while working in the area. green and red curry with seafood are great. just enough heat. they can adjust if needed. their fried rice is too sticky for me to really be fried rice. I think Chinese fried rice are the best. I think rice should be at least a day old to dry out. so when fried, they don't clump. they have big soup pot. it was too spicy for me. so the next time I'd ask them to lower the heat. my only critique is the temperature of the food. sometimes when the food comes out, some of the veggies are lukewarm while others are hot. it is like they were all frozen when they went into the dish. and for some reason they were not all heated evenly.

As many reviewers have already attested.. Sticky Rice was great!! Best Thai I have had! Get the sampler plate since it has many different items on there from the eggroll to a fresh spring roll. It also has a crab rangoon that is very rich and creamy as well as i believe lemongrass grilled chicken. It is big enough to honestly be a meal. If you do get this you will definately be taking home your meal as leftovers. My girlfriend and i both had the Pad Thai, which you can set the level of heat/spice that you want on it. She had the mild with tofu, while i had the chicken with a two star for heat. They go up to three stars for heat, but don't recommend it. I love super hot/spicy food and two stars was perfect for spice since it didn't take away from the flavor or the dish. Honestly though if you can't handle spice just do the mild or one star for your dish. Heat levels can be adjusted on any dish. The portions are large. We both pretty much took almost all of food home. The sampler did us in. Also do get the Thai iced tea!! It is delicious and refreshing!! Honestly glad that my girlfriend suggested here because it is just that DARN good!! Pricing was worth the quality and amount of food received!! Not a flashy place, but really the food is truly what you come for.

This place is actually quite good. We just tried a Thai place in Milwaukee, but liked this better. The appetizer sampler was delicious. So was my entree. Mai Tai was too sweet in my opinion. I thought it was a little pricey for what it is... probably because I am used to the many high quality extremely inexpensive Thai restaurants in Chicago. Friendly staff.

I had a customer take me here for lunch (who am I kidding... He suggested it, and I paid) earlier this year, and it changed my opinion of the food scene in Racine. The Red Devil curry is one of the best red coconut curries I have ever had, and the crab rangoons are amazing (homemade, creamy... YUM). Seriously some of the best Thai food I have ever had. In addition to the food, the service is also great.

I was so happy to find Sticky Rice in Racine! Great service and some of the best Thai food I have ever had. I highly recommend this place. It is just lovely!

I'm an out of towner with an intense love of thai food. I was hesitant to head into this restaurant, but I really wasn't let down. Their red curry was fantastic, really warm and rich without being overpoweringly spicy. The tum yum soup I ordered wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad. The service was so friendly that I fell in love with this place. Everyone in there seemed to be enjoying themselves. Even now I dream of their curry!

We eat here all the time. Why? Because everything's good, and that's impressive with a menu this size. Sometimes they can lag a bit on service, especially in the very beginning of your meal. It's crap, but sit thru it. Totally worth the wait. By the time you've gotten drinks, your apps are on the way, and holy Thai basil, batman, this is good. The potstickers are stupid, and I mean stupid-good!!! But the real piece of resistance is the WATERFALL BEEF!!!! Ya know when something is rip your face off hot, and you just can't stop eating it??? Here ya go. We want them to make it an entree, with a pile of rice in the middle, and call it a day! The curries are delicious. I could drown in that creamy curry coconut cure-all!!! (Good for hangovers!) Plus they have Tiger & Beerlao, so...

I'm really surprised to have found an actual Good local restaurant in Racine! Went there twice already and I would like to say they have good authentic thai food and I've had tons in Chicago(land area). The wait staff is okay, I don't know if it's just me but sometimes they seem confused and theyll forget items each time. They don't really make it up except for apologizing, but the food is already good that I don't mind. I'll definitely be going there while I'm living in racine.

My husband and I stopped in here on a whim one Wednesday night. We ordered the crispy tofu with the vegetable fried rice. The tofu, crispy indeed, came with a peanut sauce which was a little thick for my taste. I ordered a side of sweet chili sauce to dip it in, which was much better! The rice was very sticky and so yummy! We took the leftover rice to go and I finished it in the car. We arrived an hour before closing time (9:00) and were the only customers dining in at that point, but service was still very good and our food was prepared hot and served quickly. I can't wait to go back!

Had an excellent dinner here with my wife and two small kids while visiting from Chicago. Excellent service and delicious food - waterfall beef and green curry and spring rolls especially. Glad we saw all the positive reviews here.

Great food! Love the Pad Thai!! Only complaint is the fried tofu has no flavor so it is like eating tasteless foam rubber. Everything else is amazing!!! Staff is also very friendly!

Came to this storefront restaurant for lunch. It doesn't look like much, but the food is really tasty. The service is also excellent. I had the Volcano Chicken Combo, which comes with soup, spring roll, and the chicken dish itself. The soup and spring roll in particularly were really flavorful. If I had one criticism it is that they overstate how spicy spicy is. They were very reluctant to give us a spice level 2 on their 3 point scale, but 2 seemed pretty reasonable. Could be a comfort level based on where they are. This place is on our lunch rotation now.

One of my favorite spots in downtown Racine. The waterfall beef is simply amazing, very spicy but addictive. It's served with cucumber slices to help beat the heat. The pork potstickers are delightful. My absolute favorite dish is the red curry with slow cooked pork. It is one of those dishes you don't want to stop eating. I'm not a big fan of coconut, but the coconut milk and richness of the pork combine to make a flavor out of this world! Not to mention a velvety texture that coats your mouth with every bite. Heavenly.

It makes me sad that we've lived in the area for 10 years and it took us this long to discover Sticky Rice. I have no idea what "authentic" Thai food tastes like, and frankly, I don't care -- Sticky Thai is good, plain and simple. I admit I haven't explored the menu thoroughly because I love their curry dishes too much (the Red Devil Curry is my favorite). Portion sizes are generous, especially when preceded by the appetizer sampler. I agree with other reviewers to be cautious about how much heat you request for your meal. I generally order extra hot with a side of pepper flakes at other restaurants, but this is not the case at Sticky Rice. Think twice about going above 1-star. The atmosphere is pretty uninspiring, so it might not the spot to plan a romantic date. Service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is a manageable walk from the marina, but bring quarters if you're visiting by car, as parking in the area is metered.

Fast service & food! It wasn't more than 5 minutes that we had our appetizer & were barely finishing the appetizer when the entrees came! So much food - split it if you can. I ate 1/4 of dinner! We'd never had Thai food before and were a little nervous. The food was awesome! The flavor was outstanding. We will definitely be back for more!

I was happy to find out that there is a Thai place in downtown Racine. The location is not fancy by any means but can be easily overlooked. The food is pretty good, I tend to order the same dish (Pad See Yew) at every place I go to baseline the food. I would be careful of the amount of heat you request, depending on who the cook in the back is, the one star can be extremely spicy for the uninitiated. The wait staff is always attentive and has great table side manners. Sticky Rice is one of our go-to places for work lunch.

This place is decent for Thai and a pretty good portion for lunch. I like how they have some vegetarian options - tofu and veggies. However..... 1) I asked for soft tofu. They gave me deep fried tofu instead. 2) I asked for extra veggies in my jungle veggie dish, and they charged me $1 but I did not really get extra veggies compared to my dining companion, who had the same amount of veggies as I did without paying extra. 3) I want brown rice, but they only have white rice.

    (3)
  • Mc K.

    - Service: FANTASTIC - Food: Okay... Not my best and not my worst, but okay. My jungle veggies (panang curry) was NOT THE SAME AS MENU PICTURE, my Tom Kha Gai soup was not the same as menu picture either, but good. My mom's Pad Thai noodles were over cook

  • Jackie J S.

Sticky Rice... Sticky Floor... Sticky Menu And Yet, the food is so good ,somehow I overlook the cleanliness issues. Jungle veggies are quite good. I love the fresh taste of the spring rolls, not to mention the perfectly balanced dipping sauce. My hands-down favorite dish is the Tom Kha soup. I have eaten this soup in many places and no one does it quite as good as Sticky Rice. I order it with veggies, "Thai spicy" with a side of rice and it is perfection. But please, please, give this place a good cleaning!

Food was great but service not too happy waited about 25 min before anyone came to our table and once order came no one even really bother to come refill our drinks

My wife and I visit Racine fairly often and somehow had missed this place. I'm going to give it a rave review because the food was excellent and the server was friendly and efficient. When the bill came I laughed...it was about twenty dollars. That was for two meals and with a leftovers to take home .

Tried sticky rice for the first time...!ts nothing special. My high school BFF was Thai and I have authentic Thai Foods from Hong Kong, Bangkok and Chicago. This is going to be my first and last time stepping foot in this restaurant. I was expecting a much higher standard when I saw the 4 stars on yelp. I was wrong!!!

During a family visit to the area the night before the Carthage College indoor track meet, with the help of Yelp we found Sticky Rice. We enjoyed the grilled chicken and accompanying sauces, pad seeyew, Summer vegetables with peanut sauce, and spicy red curry. A few service hiccups as chicken accompanied a dish when tofu was ordered and white rice was delivered when fried rice was requested. Great service responded to correct the issues as well as make the experience even more enjoyable. A true gem in downtown Racine.

  • Tabitha H.

They are nice but unfortunately the cook has long hair hanging down and they don't serve many true vegetarian options. I won't be returning but I wish them the best!

    (2)
  • Rain T.

Chicken was added to our vegetarian dish after advising we were vegetarians. The price on the receipt did not reflect the price on the menu. Apparently prices had been changed in system, yet not on the menu yet. Vegetable Fried rice was pretty good.... Overall I will stick to my regular Thai restaurants in Chicago...... I was definitely NOT impressed and wouldn't make that 35 minute drive again..

The food can not be beat! The sampler is simply amazing! Crab Rangoon and yellow curry chicken strips are addicting! I had the Slow Roasted Pork w/ Red Curry and it was perfect. Perfect spice, perfect cooked pork and the basil offers the perfect balance of spicy and cool. The service is great! Very friendly staff and each time I have gone in, I have asked for recommendations and have never been disappointed. The restaurant itself if a little basic and not the most appealing. The food is plated to perfection, like a 5-star restaurant. This is truly one of Racine's best dining location.

I work close to it so I frequent this place (about twice a month). But lately the service and quality have gone down the drain. I was asked by the server how many star of heat 1, 2 or 3 so I picked medium. And the food was SUPER hot. The server didn't come ask if everything was alright. Might I add that I am Asian and am used to heat anyways but this was unbearable. I asked for the manager who was very rude and disrespectful. Furthermore, my water had stuff floating in it when asked for a new glass it had a lipstick stain on it. The manager didn't apologize and on the contrary very snippyly said "this time" I will redo it, you have eaten here many times you should know how hot "our" medium is. Meanwhile my co-workers had already ate, so I left the restaurant without eating. Being degreed / working professionals I WILL NEVER GO BACK!

Great authentic Thai food at a reasonable price. Very friendly service and always willing to accommodate good sensitivities or preferences. One of the best Racine has to offer!

One person at our table had stuff floating in her water glass. When she got a new glass, it had lipstick stains on it. Manager did nothing to compensate or apologize for the dirty glass.

This is a hard review for me to write. I absolutely love their food and was one of my favorite places to eat. However after suffering food poisoning, its not a place I want to run back to. They only reason I write this is because after having the food poisoning I've learned that other people have experienced the same thing. So this review merely serves as a warning for everyone!

In Racine for a quick visit. We loved Sticky Rice. My 4yr old son quite possibly ate the most I've ever seen him eat. We had spring rolls, green curry, chicken pad Thai and waterfall beef. Recommend all of these items

Best Thai food! Of all the places, I find the best Thai in Racine,WI! I've had Thai food all over the country, and this is one of the best! We stop by whenever we are in town but I wish there hours were better. They are often closed during the day and weekend hours are goofy. Love, love, love!

Best restaurant I have been to in years! Every time I go to Sticky Rice, the food is impeccable and the service is so friendly and prompt. Every dish that I have tried has been so well seasoned and delicious. HIGHLY recommend the Egg Rolls. Best I've ever eaten. My absolute favorite main dish is the Pad Thai. So many different flavor profiles on one plate. Perfection. Spice level can be adjusted to everyone's liking, whether you like it mild or flaming hot. Can't recommend this place enough. You have to try it.

Delicious food and friendly service. Definitely a hidden gem in Racine. Be sure to try the Spring Rolls and the Noodle Basil Stir Fry. They were both excellent!

I love Sticky Rice. My family and I live in Chicago, and we travel to Racine just to eat at Sticky Rice sometimes. Seriously, it's that good. Unfortunately, it's often closed on the weekends, or closed early. I realize that this is kind-of a normal occurrence to all businesses in downtown Racine, but it is still inconvenient. That caters to those native to Racine, but not to those stopping through on a weekend. Also, they raised their prices which is tough. It was always the best "cheap-treat". I also LOVE spicy food, and if you look them in the eye, and tell them you REALLY want to have your dish "native", you will get a very spicy dish. They may look at you like you're crazy, but just make sure to assure them that in fact yes, you are.

Great food, great service. I've been going to this place for years and I've never been disappointed with the food or service. I crave the curry from this place. The food can be native hot or tamed down. I go here with friends, my boyfriend and children, it's always been fantastic.

This was my first taste of Thai food, so I'm unqualified to offer a comparison to other Thai restaurants. What I am qualified to say is this is one of the better meals I've had in awhile. Got an appetizer of egg rolls, which came with a garlic sesame sauce that was a great compliment to the rolls. We decided to order one entrée of Pad Thai, since we figured that was a requirement for first timers, and that was excellent. We let our friendly and helpful server (the proprietor I think) guide us in a second selection. She steered us toward a seafood curry, which was amazingly good. Had a strong but flavorful heat in the sauce, and the varieties of seafood & noodles added perfect flavor and texture. Saved room for dessert, and the only disappointment was the special offering which was a rice custard with mango topping. Just didn't like the texture or temperature, but that's quite possibly more of a commentary on personal taste rather than the quality of preparation, so not really going to hold it against them. Key lime pie was very good. Business was a little slow for a Friday peak dinner hour, though they seemed to do a fare amount of takeout business. Hopefully things pick up, because it's nice to see some unique (and delicious) establishments in the old hometown. Will definitely be back.

Great Thai food! Sticky Rice is a centerpiece of the 'Racine Revival'. Great place to order a variety of food options and share amongst your meal companions. One of the best thai food locales in the metro Milwaukee area. The downtown location is perfect for a post-dinner stroll along the revived Main Street or the lakefront.

We've been in at the restaurant twice and did not disappoint. I ordered Seafood Red Curry and the sauce was the bomb! My kids ordered fried pork dumplings and Pad Thai. They finished it in seconds. My kids are picky eaters so that told me that the food was awesome!! My mom ordered Thai version of Surf&Turf and it was good. We will be going back for more!! :)

Wonderful and flavorful food with lots of vegetarian choices with a willing staff to take or substitute special orders. I've taken my students here for group lunches on Saturdays and everyone loves it. Highly recommended!

Very good food, and they are not messing around when it comes to spice. Unlike a lot of Thai places that dumb down their spice for an American pallet these guys held no punches for our dishes.

    (4)
  • Lisa C.

I have tried Thai all over the US and this is as good as it gets in terms of Americanized Thai. The pad thai is bright in flavor and you can identify every spice. You should definitely try the Spicy Garlic Stirfry. One thing...it can be pretty spicy if you order any dish native style. Get there to enjoy.

So me and my brother went here and didn't know what exactly to expect. It's not a huge space, but It's big enough on the Main st. strip to do fairly well. The Decor is simple, and not overly done, Making it quite comfortable. The Tom Kha was very good, not too salty of too garlicy like I've had at some other places, plus it was loaded with veggies in the pot. The Portions for the main dish left us both with leftovers. My main dish was a Jungle mixed veggie with chicken which I ordered native hot. I really liked it. and I suppose based upon 12.50 for the huge portion it was priced right, because I basically had a serving for the following day. We went on a monday, and it was not busy. Maybe they do better on the weekends? Hopefully word spreads, b/c I'd rather keep this and lose Culvers but I'm sure I'm in the minority. However it is in Racine, so I don't know how long a very good ethnic place like this will stay, when people in Racine don't want venture their taste buds into dishes outside of Pasta, Mexican, Burgers, and Steaks.

Sticky Rice is housed in a pretty unique spot--it's the second floor to what is (was?) the Historic Century Market in Racine. (I say "was" because it looked as though it was undergoing renovations when I was there. But I digress...) It's in a loft-like setting with plenty of space--a bit loud and echo-y sometimes, but still a cool set up. My brother and his lady live in Racine and eat at Sticky Rice at least once a week, so I was excited to try it. Nick and Angela were shocked at how packed the place was when we visited--it's not like there was a line out the door, but tables were full and the waitstaff was clearly stretched very thin. My only real complaint stems from that--our service was craaaaaap. The regular servers know Nick and Angela by name and were sure to say hi as they ran by, but our table was staffed by a 15 year old busboy who had no freakin' clue what he was doing. Once we got our food, though, all was forgiven--curries at Sticky Rice are delicious and whatever pineapple dish my brother had was yummy as well. Angela learned she does not care for wide rice noodles, but Nick ensured her plate didn't go to waste. Serving Thai favorites, beer and cocktails, Sticky Rice is a casual place just blocks from Lake Michigan. Since there aren't competing Thai joints on every corner in Racine, prices aren't as cheap as they are in Chicago, which stinks--but if you're in town and craving curry (as I am wont to do), Sticky Rice is the place for you.
