The food is delicioso. You have to mix the mild salsa and hot salsa together to get that perfect taste! But be careful. Don't do what my daughter did. The food came to the table, it looked so good. The meat tenderizing, the sauce sizzling, and the jalapeno grilled to perfection. She grabbed the pepper and chomped on it without taking out the seeds inside. Oh boy did she suffer. Make sure to cut it in half and extract the seeds before you eat the terrific food!

I go here least once a week. I usually get the green enchiladas, ceviche, or pork tacos. The service is quick and courteous.

My husband and I dined here a couple of weeks ago. It was around 7pm on a Saturday, and the place was empty. The salsas given when you are first seated were not very flavorful. They were too heavy on the cilantro, and the hot salsa wasn't very spicy. I ordered the pork tacos, and they were ok. Again not very flavorful. You can designate how you want the tacos dressed, "Mexican" or "American " and got a little attitude from the server when I chose American. The flavor, again, was nothing special. My husband's order of Chile relleños was OK, but again, not great. I asked for water, and it was very rusty tap water, they should seriously consider getting a filter. One thing I didn't understand was that my tacos were a la carte, and if I wanted refried beans and rice, it was $2.00 extra. There was nothing in this meal or service that made me want to come back again. It was adequate.

We went there last night and the service was excellent, the food was great, and we loved the atmosphere. It was hands-down the best chili relleno in Racine. Loved it!

Stopped in here after someone told me that it was a nice place. I didn't even know it was there, relatively new. Right on the corner of Spring and State street. Lots of parking on the side (Spring street side). I was very surprised at how nice it was inside, actually borderline trendy AND old world Mexican style. I had take out that day but will go back soon for inside service. Menus is fantastic and extensive. Food is very reasonable and WONDERFUL!!!! The service was great (I had never been there before and they were helpful). Don't miss this place. We need more nice sit-down places in that part of town.

First time here at El Rodeo. My wife is visiting her family here in Racine about a mile away and I snuck out craving a Burrito. To my luck, I found one real close, and it was absolutely delicious. I am pleasantly surprised, and will be coming back again for sure. Atmosphere is fine, the staff was really nice, the wait time for seating and being served we're very short. A+.

We dig this place, so it's hard to understand why nobody I know has been there, or why it's always empty when we go. I've told people, so I'm doing my part. I know I'm only giving 3stars, but ITS A REALLY HIGH 3stars, so... Anyway, the couple times we've been there, it was quite good! We probably both ordered combo plates, as that's generally what we do when we start going to a new Mexican place. I don't remember anything specific, but remember that everything was great, I think once there was a chili relleno involved. The 1st time we went there, we tried the ceviche. It was super cool, cuz where else in Racine can you get a ceviche? It was good; we both enjoyed it. They serve it with chips for a nice crunch with the cool, citrusy fish. Speaking of citrus, when you go a little heavy on it in a ceviche, as they did here, it leaves the impression that perhaps the fish was not so fresh, and you're trying to cover something. In fact any time I receive seafood that's a bit cloying of lemon, I worry about that. No bite seemed fishy, and the dish was good. But the overt over-lemon lemon-poaching was encroaching... a bit of a lemon.

Good authentic mexican food with friendly service. Chille Relleno was cooked to perfection. Flautas were also good. Great refried beans. They have traditional jarritos and coke.

We stumbled on to El Rodeo by user comments. We were not disappointed. We ordered Enchiladas Mexicana al pastor, chicken tacos, and BBQ beef tacos. The seasoned pork in the enchiladas was top notch. The chicken tacos were phenomenal. The BBQ beef is what held this back from being 5 stars. The tacos were not as flavorful as the rest of the meal. Would definitely eat El Rodeo again.

Very nice service. Excellent salsas and guac to start. Fajitas and Bistec a la Mexicana were both yummy and flavorful, but the steak tacos were just ok and chile rellenos weren't very good.

Love it! If you like Mexican food, a restaurant to yourself, and good prices. It's a great place to go.

There really isn't much to NOT love about Mexican food. It has everything you could ever want in a meal and then topped with sour cream. I have a co-worker who loves Mexican food even more than I do, and so when I asked her what would be a good lunch spot, she said El Rodeo. It's definitely worth a visit. The service was wonderful. The food took a little bit longer than "normal" but it was humongous portions and wonderfully prepared. The decor is a bit questionable in the realm of good taste, but this is a perfect little lunch spot for sure!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
