$40 Tenderloin medium rare was microwaved to well done. Unable to cut with a steak knife. Barely any Gorgonzola sauce( dried up) and the crab mixture was dry and crusty. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. The seafood chowder was very thick and cold...we believed it was yesterday's nuked soup...cream or some stock would have helped.

One word to describe my wife's and my experience - disappointed!! The best part of the dinner was the wine and Brussel Sprouts. The BSs were delicious with bacon and cut up peppers, but this is rated as a 4.5 star rated restaurant. My wife said she will give the Vintage another chance, but I won't. The price/value/quality was simply not worth it to me, there are way too many other options. She pointed out that we were there on a Monday, which is one of their slow nights and we were early so perhaps it was an off night. That said, you could tell the soup was nuked and our steaks were not good. The atmosphere was great, the wine selection is outstanding, but considering we were going out to celebrate something and heard a lot of good feedback, we expected more. The celebration turned into disappointment. Good thing the Packers won on Sunday night! :)

I lived in this town almost a year before I was even aware that this restaurant existed, which is a shame considering what wonderful cuisine they serve up. They do virtually no advertising and little self promotion, so word of mouth is about the only way to stumble across the establishment. I have visited the Vintage over a dozen times now and it has yet to disappoint. This place is, hands down, the best dining I have experienced in Oshkosh. It is relatively pricey to be sure, but the food, service and quaint ambiance make it a more than justified choice. The menu is diverse and changes quite frequently, but it has something to accommodate just about any palate, including vegetarians. I normally go with the specials they are featuring on the night of my visit, with my most recent selection consisting of poached garlic and rosemary Salmon with capers and truffle oil. It was accompanied by asiago au gratin potatoes and steamed asparagus. It was simply fabulous, and with a nice Pinot from their ample wine selection, it was a meal fit for the food network. Did I die and wake up in Manhattan or something? The atmosphere is quaint and eclectic, and the wait staff here are impeccable. They know the food, they know the wine list, and, most importantly, they know how to make sure your needs are met without being a nuisance. The bottom line is this, If you live anywhere in the Fox Valley and are looking for a decadent evening of great food, good atmosphere, and a change of pace from your typical WI night of dining out, this is your place!

I so struggle when writing reviews for restaurants in NE WI. There seems to be a NE WI five-star standard that differs dramatically from the 5 star standard I am used to. Sigh. That said, I gave the Vintage 4 stars: 5 stars for Oshkosh Wisconsin Dining, 3 stars for most everywhere else. The good: nailed the chowder and the mushroom stuffed escargot with goat cheese in a garlic butter sauce - although had the bread service come with more than two pieces of bread, we could have sopped up the garlic, butter goat cheese delicacy. The Vintage blew it on the buffalo mozzarella raviolis- over cooked, therefore rubbery. The ginger lime glazed snapper sounded great on paper, but also fell short of my expectations. The fish wasn't marinated or cooked in a ginger lime marinade- instead there was a ramekin filled with a sweet, sticky take-out Chinese style "sauce" for dipping (?) or maybe spreading on the fish(?). See photo. The carrot cake was stole the show. The atmosphere is lacking as the dining room appears to have once existed as a Denny's or Perkins attached to the hotel, as evidenced by the cheesy mural and the booths that have a faux wood top, which the Vintage covers with white table cloths. The bathrooms are outside the restaurant and located in the hallway which is shared with pool patrons, so it is hot and humid. (Weird). Also, I found it off putting that Japanese screens were used (instead of say, a wall) to separate the dining room from the server stations.

Great fine dining restaurant in Oshkosh. Probably one of the nicest fine dining restaurants in the entire city of Oshkosh as far as food quality and the waitstaff is very professional. Intimate seating areas so may need to make a reservation as tables are limited. Although it is located inside of a Hotel it is by far one of the best state-of-the-art restaurants in the Oshkosh area. Although the prices may seem a bit high it is worth the quality of food that you are served. The proportions are fair for the price unlike other fine dining restaurants that serve smaller proportions. Had a restaurant.com gift certificate so this is why we tried it for the first time but will definitely go back for a special occasion!

thevintagedining.com Located off of 41 going south of Oshkosh in Hawthorne Suites Hotels, this restaurant is well worth the trip. Intimate, clean, upscale this is a lovely little dining experience. We have been there twice and I would have happily given this glowing review based on our first experience. When we went they did not have a gluten free menu. I have looked online and still do not see one, however the Chef, (Katie?) came to our table and based on his restrictions (Celiacs sprue, which is a disease, any gluten he ingests makes him seriously ill.) and preferences (Vegetarian no peppers) she whipped him up a delicious meal. She was great! We loved it so much we purchased a gift card for someone, she refused it and promptly sent it back, (she disapproves of my relationship,) he is a bit younger than I... Well, a Lot Younger than I. This judgmental sentiment sent us (happily) back for a second time. We were not disappointed. The staff is top notch, service is excellent and the ambiance is cozy. I highly recommend this place.

Let me start by saying yum. The good was terrific. We had a little bit of a problem finding the restaurant because it is actually located inside the Hawthorn Hotel. Nothing against the Hawthorn but I would except a high end eatery like the Vintage to be in a Hilton or other high end hotel. The waitress was very helpful, and other than the slow greeting from the hostess when we first arrived, the service was top notch. The good is exceptional. The calamari was cooked to perfection. The soup is worth having as dessert if the carrot cake wasn't so moist. We will be back.
