Several colleagues and I stayed here during a professional hiring conference [Oshkosh Placement Exchange]. I don't think any one of us could put into words how incredible our stay has been with Brayton Bed and Breakfast. Nicole and Scott's hospitality, paired with a cozy place of serenity kept us feeling refreshed during a long, chaotic (and fun!) work weekend. Seriously. Staying here would be the best decision anyone could ever make under any circumstance at any time. :0)
My husband and I just returned from celebrating our 1st anniversary at Brayton's, which was our first B&B experience. Initially I was unsure if Oshkosh would be a fun location for our anniversary, but I can confidently say that this beautiful B&B completely changed my mind! We have nothing but positive things to say about this place. We stayed in the Brayton Suite. Our room had a large tub, fuzzy robes, wonderful soaps/bubble bath, a cozy bed and extremely soft sheets. The room was immaculate! While the rooms are updated and modern, Nicole and Scott have preserved much of the "older character" of the house as well which made it comforting and inviting. Upon arriving we were invited to join the other guests outside under the pergola for wine and cheese provided by Nicole and Scott. This was only the beginning of their excellent hospitality. They were both very helpful with checking out local attractions as well as providing suggestions for food venues. We were also able to rent their pontoon boat for cheaper than the places located in town. If all of that wasn't enough, Nicole also made excellent breakfasts each morning (homemade waffles, breakfast burritos, pancakes...just to name a few). We were able to meet the other couples staying there, socialize over breakfast, snag a few coupons for local attractions, and overall enjoy our time together. I highly recommend staying here; you won't be disappointed!
Feel like your home with family, without the stress. Great location, very comfortable. Highly recommend - Leon

Delicious pizza! Happy that they got the order right. It seems that whenever I order pizza, it always gets messed up. The crust is like a delicious garlic breadstick and they also delivered to our hotel with 25 minutes after I called. I was really impressed.

Lowbrow places that stand out deserve to be recognized. In this case, the experience last Saturday morning was outstanding for me. Here's why: 1. This BK has the super mixer pop dispenser. So you can get peach, vanilla, etc. infused into your Mello Yellow, Dr. Pepper or whatever else you come up with. Fantastic, worth coming here for just that. 2. They took discount coupons without a hassle- workers on duty were fantastic, the floors were cleaned even though there was a snowstorm outside & people were tracking in the snow. Bathrooms were clean, so were tables. They even gave suggestions on what flavors to mix in with my drink. Sweet. 3. Had the big screen TV tuned to Harlem Globetrotters. A great choice at 11am. 4. Oh, and the food was hot and decent, which is always a bonus. But add it all together and the fast food experience was top notch for both my 9 year old and myself.

Outstanding food and price. We started with curds, I had the prime rib sandwich and my wife had the burger. All were tasty. Plus the beer was cold.
Definitely one of the liveliest dive bars I have stumbled in (or out) of in a long time. We were in fairly early on a Saturday night, and it was pretty full. There was loud music (not too loud for conversations though), lots of friendly yelling, a good sized patio out back, some combination of yahtzee rolls for shots going on at the bar, and change being flung between bartenders and regulars. The crowd covered all age ranges, definitely regulars, and not a lot of lightweight drinkers. We had a couple drinks & appetizers and a ridiculously low tab. What's not to like?
If you're looking for the best burgers in town look no further buddy you found em. Pete's has some of the best food in town and the prices can't be beat. Drink specials are ridiculously cheap. The regulars are class acts and boy is that Ryan a little sex pot.

Great selection of beers - try the blueberry beer! Nice crowd and beautiful lake view - my friend and I took our beer outside and took turns sitting in the GIANT chair. Great times!
Right on the lake with a great selection of beers available. Happy hour is the best time to come (weekdays 3-6) because alcohol is half priced. The food is good too. Staff is willing to talk to you about anything and are a lot of fun. This is worth being a regular at.
We were visiting my daughter at UWO and found this place and was very glad we did. There is fine dining and a sports bar. I won and we ended up at the Sports bar but they gave my girls menu's from the Italian Restaurant so they were happy. Beer was excellent, my burger was out of this world, and the girls liked their pasta. Can't wait to visit in warmer months!

Rhapsodies Gourmet Frozen Custard

1226 Oregon St

Reviews:
This is our go-to spot for out of town guests to try custard. It's a cute little place, though I have no idea how they close for the winter and are still in business... The custard is excellent (though very rich). However, it is also quite expensive. Just a small dish with one topping runs about $4, which seems kind of steep. They also go back and forth between taking orders and making them, so I'm not sure how the line works when they get super busy (hard to tell who is waiting for their order, and who has yet to order). While they have signs offering soups, sandwiches, etc., I don't know that I would ever think to come here for lunch. The parking lot is a bit cramped, so pay attention to the signs showing which way to go! They have a nice little patio out front. Honestly, I don't eat many sweets, and I don't find Rhapsodies mind-blowing, so I don't really come here that often.
The Rice Krispie frozen custard was amazing! So good in fact, I went back a few hours later to get seconds :) I highly recommend!
Spending several days in Oshkosh for an event. I always like to scope out the local treasures, and this is definitely one of them. The turtle sundae was ahh-mazing, definitely superior to Culvers. Parking is limited, but that is a small price to pay for the fantastic frozen custard, and the fast, friendly service.

Parnell's is a family favorite. From JUMBO fried shrimp to fantastic blue gill, Parnell's delivers on a consistent basis. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the ambiance is just fantastic. It does have an incredibly small dining room, but they move through people very quickly.
A classy 'up nort Wisconsin' place. Great for a Friday fish fry, but I wouldn't hang out here. Smokey and lots of scary locals. The fish fry was GREAT though! I would go here for dinner, but definitely plan on going elsewhere for the rest of the evening!
food is awesome, i have never had a bad meal here. dining room is small so sometimes there is quite a wait, but there is a reason for it, it's worth it. one of our favorite places to eat.

The food was excellent. Plus you get great salsa and a bean dip with your chips. The service was outstanding as well. Such a great place!
Great margaritas, ice cold beer, fun bartender and great food. Chips salsa and bean dip when u sit down and it keeps coming. Good menu with plenty of choices. We sat at bar to eat which was fun! Had the grilled chicken breast with spinach and mushrooms with melted cheese sauce over all. Delicious. Very good Mexican rice. Burritos and enchiladas were good too. Moderately priced. Definitely will go back.
Authentic Mexican food. We enjoyed every bite of the salsa, Guacamole and bean dip and then the tamales and rice and beans, etc etc. We ate far too much but it was so good! We will be back!

Food: 3 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Service: 3 stars (sweet waitress, slow service. 30 min to get our appetizers) Stopped over here on a business trip, and yelped for an hour before finally deciding on this place. I have to say, the bright "IMMEDIATE SEATING" sign worried us. But the inside was more appealing. It's extremely spacious and could hold about 200 people. The waitresses are really sweet but don't know much about beer so ask someone else. Dishes we ordered: Charcuterie plate. Best dish of the night. The cheeses also were on point, especially the creamy one in the middle. Margherita pizza: eh. Cheese falls off. We asked for red pepper flakes, but those were so stale/tasteless. Didn't know that was possible Calzone: too bready but otherwise yummy Truffle Mac and cheese: I added sausage to this expecting them to dice it up but they just put one huge fat link on top. Which is fine I guess. Pretty good but too heavy. Enough to share among THREE people. Meat and Veggie Lasagna: Yes, you can ask them to mix the two! pretty decent Minestrone soup: I thought it was on the salty side but my buddy thought it was just right.
Wow! We visit Oshkosh once a year and found this restaurant last year. The food is excellent, portions huge, service superlative. We love the focaccia bread and olive oil dip, the soups are great and the entrees won't disappoint. My wife and I shared the Pasta Trio and still took half of it home.
First visit today and I have to say - service, atmosphere and food were very amazing! I got the Bacon Jam Scallops with caramelized onions and I'm going to be getting it again next visit. Best scallops I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. Keep up the great work :)

This is the standardbearer for the Wisconsin bar, and I damn well love it. It doesn't put on airs or try to be something it isn't, and as long as you don't expect it to be something it's not, you'll love it. The waitstaff is more than friendly - it's neighborhood friendly even when you're not in the neighborhood. (Also, their waitstaff show up as the local paper's Volunteer of the Year, or as board members of the local historical society - I learned a ton when I made an offhand comment about whether Oshkosh had, um, houses of ill repute back in the day. Turns out one of the waitresses has done archival research on it. Seriously. How great is that??) And you can't get better drinks for a better price - what they charge for premium is what other places charge for well. The sweet potato fries and fried green beans are great. Great fish fry, more kinds of potatoes than I can count (but at least they're all listed on the menu now!), good fried everything. I've had most of the fish dishes and loved 'em. (Although it's not necessarily your first diet restaurant choice, I found out that low-carb options available - I mentioned I was doing low-carb and was told they can change anything accordingly.) It's a great Wisconsin bar with great Wisconsin bar food.
Biggy Burgers, preach plates and great old fashions.... when you say Wisconsin you said it all!
Excellent food, atmosphere and drinks. Bloody Mary was awesome. I had the seafood platter and my boyfriend had the perch sandwich. Wonderful! Clams are hard to find on a seafood platter!
