I went there for breakfast and was just what I was looking for. I had the corned beef hash which was great. Made with actual chopped corned beef not deli meat like so many places do. Large portions. Excellent friendly service. Wish this was near my home and I'd be a regular.

This place seems to have a bad reputation to the other locals who live downtown like myself, thought I will have to dare to disagree here as I have never had a bad experience and the prices are very affordable. It is located inside and to the left of the Shultz Pharmacy. Most of my stop ins have been for breakfast, as it is only about a block for my apartment and they have a diverse menu of all your typical favs and also some french toast and waffle combinations which are quite delicious and creative. The eggs Benedict is my personal fav, and the sauce is marvelous. Portion sizes are also generous if you come with an appetite. I took my parents here almost every morning during EAA when they visited and they enjoyed it as well. Lunch wise, I have only tried the salads ordered togo from work on days that I am running short of time in the morning to pack a lunch. They have a Chicken and Brie salad with walnuts that is fantastic and that I would highly recommend. Yum! Never had a problem here service wise, always prompt and courteous and when I make togo orders it is always waiting for me when I stop in to pick it up. 5 star dining this is not, but great local fare with a germanic twist and low prices.

The breakfast was ok. I had a croissant with peanut butter and Jelly. Coffee was ok, not many options for lattes or specialty coffee drinks. We used a coupon on Yelp $ 10 for $20 which the waitress was unfamiliar with. She told us we needed to print it out in order to redeem it (which it does not say) after checking for a while with the owner she allowed us to redeem it on our smartphone. Also "checked in" for a free dessert which she told us the owner said they were not doing anymore but she changed her mind so it worked out ok. Eggs Benedict sauce was very good good but eggs were overcooked. I would come again, they just need to make sure they know what Discounts are being offered and inform their employees! Nice location and great Carrot Cake Dessert.

The wife and I came in today while in Oshkosh. My burger was great (I forget what they called it, it was the one with the fried egg and bacon). My wife got the fish fry, which was affordable and also very good. We both got soup, which was home-made (a big plus). They even broiled the soup in those 1970's style soup crocks with cheese on top. Nice touch. The decor of the place is a little rough, but the food was excellent. We will definitely be back. We also loved the little mention on the menu that they don't use microwaves or non-stick cookware!

The Oshkosh Bistro is actually inside Schultz's Pharmacy downtown. When you first walk into the place, the decor is not what you'd think of as a German restaurant, rather it looks like a coffee/sandwich shop. For a person specifically wanting German food, this would be enough make you turn right around and walk out. And, to be fair, it IS a coffee/sandwich shop.......But don't be fooled!! Take a look at the menu. They have some of the tastiest, most delicious schnitzels I have ever eaten. I ordered what they call the "Pomeranian Schnitzel", which has a wine/cream mushroom sauce. Absolutely amazing. Despite the awesome food, this place doesn't get the fifth star for two reasons: 1) The decor. These German recipes should be served in a real German place, and 2) The waitress took my order by memory, and came back to my table a couple of times to clarify what I had ordered.....beer, sides and such. Fortunately, it all came out correct. The bottom line here is this: If you want awesome German food at a great price and don't care that the decor resembles a Panera Bread cafe, then you should definitely check this out.
