Surprised by such a nice find on our way to Wisconsin Dells. They did a great job decorating the place. Wish they were closer to home, I would frequent the place quite often. My wife complained about slow service, but we sat at the bar and not the restaurant part and frankly I was in no hurry. The food was was made with quality ingredients, I can tell when they use the cheep stuff to make Mexican food. They also took great pride in keeping the place clean. I'm not sure the locals appreciate what they have as it was not very busy. A place like that in MSP south burbs would just kill it.

I work a lot in the Lacrosse area and Mannys is a go to for good seafood. The Salmon and Swordfish are always a good choice. The service is good, although it seems to get slow once in a while for no reason. The interior is nice and always clean. My only drawback for the place is the higher prices. For freshly delivered fish you can expect to pay a premium.

The Margaritas are good. The ceviche is not proper. They used precooked seafood instead of the lime/lemon "cook" the meat. The main course was okay but not memorable. I had the swordfish. All in all this restaurant is okay but I would not go out of my way to eat here. The staff was friendly and attentive but the food was not top class.

Oh, please don't get me wrong....the food is good. Not great but good. The prices are GREAT! They charge for chips and they charge for salsa. They charge when you take a breath in and charge you to expell it! If you want very good Latino/Americano food, go to El Rodeo in downtown La Crosse. Or, come to mi casa! You would like my food! Es muy buena!

First of all the outside deck is amazing. Not on the side of the building that has noise, so it's relaxing. The happy hour is amazing. The same fresh food and drinks. Nothing shorted or substituted. My favorite thing here is the Cajun Mahi Mahi Tacos. For the amount of food you get and quality of food alone the price is very reasonable. I eat here quite a bit and have yet to have a bad order or bad service. I would recommend this place over ANY in a 100 mile radius for Mexican food. The prices aren't a fast food joint but really do you expect cheap prices for amazing food? I sure don't. That being said the prices are not going to break the bank. Just fantastic. The house wine selections are amazing here and they do have some amazing non-house wines. The Ultimate Perfect margarita is the place to start. There are many other great concoctions of margaritas but this is the best start line My server , Kayla, was very friendly and nice to talk to. She wasn't pushy just helpful if I had questions. Awesome!

This was my first visit to Manny's Onalaska, and I am very impressed with the fast and amiable service. The freshness of the vegetables was gratifying. Seasoning was spot on. Portions were perfect.

If you expect to get lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and tomato for your fajitas......you do not. I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas and they charged me 3.75 for the "extras" that I wanted. My total bill was 27.95 for fajitas and a pop. Ridiculous!! Also, the three shrimp were not deveined and still had the tails on them. Very strange restaurant with high prices.

Absolutely outstanding. Was surprised to find such a culinary experience in WI. Mahi fish tacos, fiesta salad with tuna, and margarita perfecta were all amazing.

Best fish tacos my wife and I have ever had. Atmosphere is classy and casual. The wait staff is excellent and timely. We have enjoyed many anniversary dinners at Mannys. It is on the higher end of the dinning price scale but well worth it.

I was here only once (long drive from home) but the flavor-never forgotten, and the seafood+Mexican choices were unique, and the bit that I had makes me beg for more! Now that I bookmarked this location, it's time for a fun road trip!! I know I waited about an hour for our dinner, but the margaritas were fantastic and our appetizer came out quickly. The place was so packed we waited to be seated, and we're actually offered a little corner table so we wouldn't have to wait as long. It took a little wait (about ten min) to get our first service, I think only because we were hidden in the corner on a table That normally is unused. But once were were discovered, the waitstaff was awesome, in a crazy atmosphere on a Saturday night, everyone kept smiling and kept positive!! Will be back ASAP! In one word "yum-tactic!!"

Love this place best happy hour around you can't beat their margaritas and appetizers. They also use fresh ingredients which make a huge difference. I end up here at least once or twice a week.

I'm sitting in the restaurant right now, on a Thursday night, 45 minutes since we ordered our burrito and fish tacos, wondering why this is taking so long. The menu is heavy with seafood and steak options, but fairly weak on other Mexican food. Prices were a bit high for Mexican in my opinion, but maybe it'll be amazing. I'll update when we get our food.... Well food was actually pretty good, thankfully. Fish tacos were a fried fish fillet instead of small cut up pieces of fish. Burrito was big and full of good things. So, good food, but a bit higher prices, and pretty poor service tonight (almost 90 minutes from getting seated to getting food, and that wasn't because we took awhile to order). 3 stars.

Went to this place while staying in WI for a conference. Guac and chips were good. Bartender was hands down awesome. Food sucked. Asked for shrimp tacos. Was told no problem. Shrimp were deep fried!!?!?!?! Grilled shrimp tacos is what I wanted and expected. Food now all covered in a ranch sauce too. Pass this place by.

The food was fresh and they have really good happy hour prices on alcoholic beverages. The margarita mix was delicious, though the pitcher we ordered was a bit weak in terms of alcohol (and from what we are used too for a Mexican place). We also enjoyed being able to enjoy the weather by sitting outside.

Manny's is one our favorite stops when we are in LaCrosse. Today's visit had us trying a "lunch special" salad and the seafood linguine, both were tasty. Our server was helpful and efficient. If you have time to enjoy delicious Mexican cuisine while you are visiting or passing through LaCrosse, take a minute to visit Manny's Mexican Cocina - conveniently located off of exit 4 and I90, just across from Valley View mall, near Home Depot. You'll enjoy your visit, we always do.

The most bizarre experience. Went ther just now with two friends. There were about 10 people in bar and patio area. One couple was being served their dinner. We asked for chips and ordered a glass of beer and were told by waitress that the dining area was closed but we could get a drink at the bar. We went to the bar and asked if we could order a beer and chips. The bartender said the kitchen was closed but she would get us some chips with our drinks. HOWEVER the OWNER WAS sitting there and denied us the chips telling us the kitchen was closed. I thought he was kidding and said so. He assured me he was not kidding that the kitchen was closed. I asked again if he seriously would not get us one small bowl of chips to have with our drinks and he said no because the kitchen is closed. So we left and he could care less. I found it absolutely ridiculous ... they must have more business than they know what to do with. Crazy. And sad.

Been here many times over past 7 years..I am a little biased being from arizona but mannys does surprise me in a few features, with that being the seafood selections, other than that it can be a hit are miss..like last night ordered a taco salad, chicken was dry no flavor, salsa also no flavor, and bacon wrapped scallops.two scallops for 14 dollars and the bacon was damn near raw, like I stated earlier can be a hit are miss, which with kinda being a nicer upscale restaurant in this area it should not be..

GREAT place!! Excellent food, margaritas, and service... Most authentic Mexican around. I'm from SoCal and have been dying with nothing decent around here.. found my place!

This is one of the best Mexican styled restaurants at which I have eaten. The drinks are not very good but the food is outstanding.

In my opinion, Manny's excels at Margaraitas and seafood. Their portions are huge! One of my favorite dinner entrees is their Seven Seas Burrito which contains big hunks of fish, shrimp and scallops. My favorite lunch is their batterfried cod fish tacos. There is enough food for at least two meals. Why three stars? The service is very hit or miss. And the food can sometimes take a really long time. I also suggest skipping the patio despite how tempting it looks. There are far more bugs and flies than i am comfortable with.

    (3)

A bit overpriced, but quite delicious. The jalapeño cream sauce was the best part. My seafood burrito was filling and fresh.

Did not enjoy the food at all. Very bland tasting. Our appetizer was delivered with our main entree. My marg was watered down. Usually I feel something off of a marg after 4-5 sips, but with this one I downed the whole thing and didn't feel anything. We ate out on the patio and there were ants everywhere on the table. We moved tables and yet more ants. This would imply tables not properly wiped down after use.

The short review: Extremely poor service but the food was good. The long review: I ate dinner here with some colleagues on a Thursday evening. We were entertaining a candidate and several people spoke highly of Manny's. Trouble began soon after we were seated and waiting for two others to arrive. We were given menus and drinks but then forgotten about for 15 minutes. As we were waiting for two more people this was not a big problem, but after they arrived the wait continued. We ended up having to ask for the chips and salsa to be brought and for our water to be refilled. Our order was eventually taken and then the real wait began. After 30 minutes a large party, who arrived after us, began to receive their orders. Another 20 minutes went by but no one checked on us, refilled our waters, or paid any attention to us. After over an hour of waiting our food was brought out without explanation. My own meal had not been made as I requested but I was hesitant to send anything back. Our drinks still went unfilled and we had to flag down someone to get more water. Getting the check even took 10 minutes. Overall, I was dissatisfied and unimpressed with the service. At nearly $20 for most meals, I expected better. When we bring more candidates I will strongly voice my opposition to Manny's as it left us in an awkward position and certainly did not provide the hospitality we wanted to extend.

We stopped in for dinner on a recent jaunt through Onalaska and my overall reaction is "meh". Our server was nice and speedy, the menu was pretty big though pretty spendy, but our appetizer (guacamole) and all of our entrees (daily salmon special, daily cod special, crab tacos, veggie fajitas) were criminally underseasoned. I know that small town Wisconsin isn't the place to break out the big guns on spice, but there was very little flavor of any kind in any of our dishes. Nothing bad, just....nothing good either. I would skip this place and go somewhere else, or smuggle in your own spices.

    Guacamole!!!! Try it! Sooo good.

Terrible service. Waitress brought our food, then took 15 minutes to bring my three year old's meal. Will never dine here again.

Having lived in San Diego and having eaten some great baja (fish based menu) Mexican food, I'm always nervous about trying another Mexican restaurant, much less one in La Crosse WI. Manny's far exceeded my expectations. Great from the very beginning. Fresh chips, great salsa, incredibly fresh ceviche all were a great start. I ordered the fish tacos, hoping for a good comparison to Rubio's in SD. These were as close as I've had. Fish was cooked just right, sauce was perfect, cabbage was crisp. Great experience with great service. I'll be back again.

I thought Manny's was very good, but really expensive! We were fortunate to go during Happy Hour so we got 1/2 off all of our margaritas...actually we purchased 2 pitchers of margaritas for only $10/a pitcher. We all ordered different things, the crab stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp, the chicken plabano, shrimp/lobster burrito, and the fajitas. The stuffed shrimp was by far the best dish, followed by the chicken plabano and the fajitas were dead last (not very tasty). The chips & salsa they serve before the meal were very good...hot and crispy...like they just came from the fryer! All in all I'm glad I tried it...and would go back if it was a special occasion.

Update: Manny's continues to be one of my wife and my favorite places to eat in the area -- either on a date, or with friends, or for a casual weekend lunch outing with our 2 young kids. But be warned -- there are really only 2 things to order that will give you something delicious to eat AND make you feel like you've gotten a good deal for your $$. Those two things are soup and tacos del mar (fried cod fish tacos). All the soups are delicious -- ask the server what they've got -- and the portions are generous for something like $6. Fish tacos will feed 2 for $12 or so. If you want guacamole, order it as a side with your entree ($2 up-charge vs $9 appetizer). As I said in my earlier review, don't order soft drinks -- they are a rip off. Tequila, though, is a steal. One shot for $6 and a double for $8.25. And these are expensive, sipping tequilas -- like Centenario Añejo. Also good deals are tap beers during happy hour. People who complain about the flavor/quality of the food or the prices are ordering poorly.

It's been 3 years since my initial review and I feel that the quality of the food and service have both declined slightly in that time. The menu is exactly the same (at least from what I can tell), which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I didn't leave the restaurant feeling like I had anything beyond average. My wife and I both felt that the interior felt a bit less clean than we recall as well. I think that the differentiator of Manny's is their portion sizes, which are quite large, and the fact that they offer a large number of seafood dishes - a rarity in the La Crosse area. My wife and I both felt that we can do a better job on the same dishes at home. Perhaps I am unfairly comparing Manny's to our reference for Mexican, Frontera Grill and Topolobampo in Chicago, but I think that if La Crosse area restaurants need to stay relevant in a shrinking culinary world, they need to keep their quality and service levels high. That being said, I think that Manny's is still the best Mexican Restaurant in La Crosse that I have had (but I haven't tried them all).

Food was good but over priced. I had the coconut shrimp. The shrimp were huge but my meal alone was $50 and I had 3 beers with my meal.

After reading previous reviews I was actually excited to go to mannys, we ordered a pitcher of margaritas ($22) and guacamole ($9) both of which were ok. I can make better guacamole for a fraction of the cost. For an entree, we shared (portions are HUGE) the chicken, beef, shrimp and chorizo fajitas. ($20) First, shrimp weren't de-tailed and I had to devein the first one. There was barely any beef and only three shrimp. As for the chorizo, it was non existent. As for flavor there was none. We had to add salt to everything to make it okay. The salsa that came with the chips was good, I'm a fan of cilantro and they used an abundance :) I have to say that the service was outstanding, but unfortunately we will not be back because of the quality of the food. You want Mexican in this town (onalaska or la crosse) google a recipe or message me and make it yourself.

Takes an extremely long time to place your order and another hour to get your food. The quality of the food was average so I don't know if it's really worth the wait considering the higher prices.

It doesn't seem like there are too many places to eat in Onalaska, WI but this place stuck out due to its size and proximity to hotels. I ordered a steak after indulging in chips, salsa, and Spotted Cow, and found it to be extremely delicious. Would return if I'm ever in the area again.

Good looking venue, near our hotel, good reviews so what could go wrong? Sadly, a lot. This is a huge restaurant and there were tons of servers with very few customers. We noticed a chalkboard with some interesting specials but no prices, this became significant later on. The hostess escorted us to a tiny table for two when there were literally 25 empty tables all around us. I asked if we could have a larger table. She then brought us to a round table for six. OK, whatever, I felt like I was channeling Goldilocks (this table is tooooo small, this table is toooo big) so we just sat at a corner table for six. The hostess then became our server with about a 15 minute wait before we got my husband's diet coke, nachos and guacamole. My nada colada arrived about 10 minutes after that. However, everything was pretty good, we were relatively happy. The apps are what saved this from being a 2 star review. Our hostess/server reappeared about ten minutes later and told us about the specials. I asked her if the shrimp specials were spicy and if so, which was less spicy. On her advice, I ordered the least spicy. Ten minutes later she reappeared with the news that the other special was not spicy, OK, good to know, I will have that. My husband had the bacon wrapped scallops special. At this point we erred in not asking the price of a luncheon special. I guess we thought in a Mexican place in a retail type area of La Crosse, WI. two lunches couldn't be that much. This was a big mistake on our part. We normally frequent restaurants that tell you up front the price of specials as they describe them. Very fine restaurants all over the country do it this way! Our specials arrived. My shrimp was way too spicy for me, I had to eat just the shrimp and then some nada colada. The rice and beans were average. My husband's scallops were meh to average. And then we got the check. $72.00. For an underwhelming lunch in a really average Mexican joint in La Crosse, WI with slow uneven service. Totally not worth it. Lesson learned: don't order the special unless you know the price. Or better yet, don't eat in restaurants that don't tell the price as they entice you with the special.

The applewood bacon wrapped stuffed jumbo shrimp are one of my favorite meals of all time! Pair them up with a big blue margarita with sugar on the rim and I'm in heaven.

How do you end up disappointed at a Mexican restaurant? Uneven service and average food that is considerably overpriced, that's how. And it irritates me because I didn't let my wife go on Yelp to look for a restaurant, I said let's just go here, it's close and how can you go wrong with Mexican food? LaCrosse has to have better Mexican food that isn't 72.00 before the tip. And next time I am up there, I am going to find it.

  • Tara M.

I've been to Manny's a few times, each time hoping it would be better, but it never was. The last time we visited the restaurant was completely empty and it still took our server 10 minutes to bring drinks. When she finally did stop by she was rude and the food was way over priced. I will never be visiting Manny's again.

Amazing ambiance and great decor. The chips tasted homemade and were the right amount of salt and weren't dripping with oil. The salsa was fresh with the right amounts of cilantro, onion, and tomato. We ordered the soup of the day, which the waitress informed us was something that her mom made at home all the time while she was growing up (her parents are the owners and are from Mexico). Too bad I can't remember the name, but it was made with a special kind of Mexican corn, cilantro, and shredded chicken. We ordered a chicken chimichanga that ended up tasting like a burrito and wasn't fried, and the fish tacos, which were delicious. I'm from Chicago and this was some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while.

First off, the Oak St. address on Yelp (and Google Maps) is wrong. You'll be searching in a residential area. The correct address is 301 Hampton Court (near the Home Depot and Hampton Inn in Onalaska). The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. My friends who ate with me had two kids: 4 and 2. While they had booster seats and high chairs, they did not work well with the furniture. Thankfully the waitress did all she could to make it work and the kids ate without knowing the difference. As far as the food, it is fresh, which scores big points with me. The seafood is fairly good as well as the standard Mexican-American food (tacos, chimichangas, etc.). It certainly isn't that authentic... but that's ok, most gringos wouldn't know the difference. So, if you are looking for ginormous margharitas for half price during happy hour and average but slightly expensive Ameri-Mexican fare, or if you are staying at the Hampton Inn and don't care to drive, go. If you are looking for authentica Mexicana, I'd suggest Tres Compadres (I have yet to try Fiesta Mexicana). Will I go back? Probably, good seafood is hard to find and happy hour is quite a deal.

After getting our fill of chips, salsa, and jumbo margaritas, we usually split an order of fajitas, and never have any complaints, they make very good food here. The fish tacos and steaks are also good.

Best Mexican food in the La Crosse/Onalaska area - fresh and nummy! Guac is great, warm homemade chips, delish margs, and wonderful seafood combination burritos. The service was great. Secretly, I dream about Manny's and try to get my friends to take me:)

Manny's is our favorite place to go for seafood served mexican style. While it can be a bit loud when there is a big crowd there...it's worth it! Service is...moderate. Servers are good at what they know about the menu, but seem to be slowed by either the kitchen's speed, or maybe there aren't enough servers. So...get a good long drink from the bar...and wait your turn for wonderful "real" mexican seafood!

    (5)
  • Kristin D.

This is my disclaimer for giving Manny's a three. I have had some good meals here, but . . . I have also been really disappointed. I do like that it is a local place that is trying to do something different than the typical mexican place. It is a seafood based menu. I like the bar area, with the fireplace, the Frida Kahlo painting and the table/chairs. Its the food, that I have a love/hate relationship with. I think the key is to stick with the specialties of the house on the menu. Some of the food is just okay... it is kind of hit or miss. I think with just a little quality control, and some serious dedication to consistency, this place could become a 5. I do understand why people give it a 5, but the more you eat here, the more opportunity there is for just ok meals.

  • Shelly V.

Many people I know LOVE this place. I can only give it "A-OK"....but I feel really bad about it. Manny's is a local institution which is famous for their seafood items. After living near the Pacific coast a few years I have issues ordering seafood from a land-lock state. I ordered beef tacos and they were very good. The meat was seasoned well and they gave me three, which was the perfect amount to fill me up. The margaritas were HUGE and came frozen or iced in fruit flavors or regular. Happy hour until 6pm which makes them a reasonable price ($6 for large, $4 for small). No chips and salsa on the table. Well, I never saw them. Our waitress was friendly and nice. It's one of those places where I did not walk out with anything I could pin point as being bad but nothing I could pin point as being exceptional either.

La Crosse is NOT the cultural OR gastronomic center of the midwest, or even of Wisconsin. Ethnic places are hard pressed to stand a chance against the increasing tide of mediocre chain establishments. Manny's stands alone, in the neon glow of its home improvement store neighbor across the parking lot, and serves FANTASTIC Mexican seafood specialites to a grateful clientele. The sea bass has been called second to none, and tonight's offering of seafood nachos was LOADED with huge pieces of king crab legs and 12-count shrimp, before being drowned in the elixir they call 'chipotle cream sauce." Calories? Heartburn? Who cares when you can achieve nirvana for even one brief second. A word of advice: GO!

Easily some of the best seafood in the state. They have fresh fish flown in daily! I will drive from Milwaukee for this! The atmosphere is great and the margaritas are superb. Top notch on every way.

I've spent a lot of years in Texas and California eating my favorite food, Mexican. I was hopeful to find my future favorite spot when stumbled across Manny's menu. I was ubber excited when I saw dishes with Pollo Asado in them. Typically this is a marinated chicken with great flavor. I decided to order a Fiesta Salad, but asked them to exchange the typical meat options with Pollo Asado. What I received was a salad with a cooked, likely grilled chicken breast rolled in a type of chili powder concoction after having been cooked. Spicing post preparation does not a marinade make, instead, a miserable meal requiring a lot of fluid to choke down a dry protein. I didn't attempt to send it back because it took them a longer time then expected to get the food to us and I needed to make another appointment. My dining partner requested a burrito with a few additions to it. She ended up getting everything she didn't want and none of the things she did. The restaurant was only 1/4 full, however the server suggested the kitchen couldn't handle so many "Special Orders". She ended up just sending the plate back and passed on a 2nd attempt to make the food correctly, so I'm unable to report on the taste of that meal. Overall, the service was acceptable. Our server didn't seem to know much about the food she was serving (Explained to us she didn't speak Spanish - Not sure why that would impact your comprehension of the product you are selling), but she was friendly. When the burrito came out incorrect, we received a visit from a member of the management team and they were pretty good about the situation, but didn't attempt to create a repeat customer through the interaction. We'd likely try it again at another time due to lack of Mexican food options in the area, however I'll not go back if I find a Mexican restaurant even slightly palatable.

We waited for over an hour for food on a Sat. Night-after we ordered. The food was ok, and not very hot. Ran out of water while waiting. Maybe a complimentary appetizer or beverage when a wait is so long and it's not all that cheap.

We arrived to restaurant around 8pm and had 12 in our group. They set us at our table in less than 5 minutes - the restaurant was not very busy and had a lot of empty tables. The table was set up in a "T" shape so it was very awkward. Our waitress was very pleasant and she took our drink orders almost immediately. It took about 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive and then about another 15 minutes for our waitress to come back to take our order. She was very knowledgable of the menu and the large group didn't seem to effect her. Her service skills was very good and I did not feel neglected at all. Food was good but it took almost an hour to get, the kitchen also forgot to make one of our orders. Seems kitchen and bar slowed down the service to a crawl. Front of house did a Great Job and back of the house did a terrible job. Manny's Mexican Cocina is average at best.

Uneven service. We had to ask for chips/salsa. The waitress brought two entrees 10 minutes before the rest of our entrees. The food was fine but nothing to write home about.

I came here during happy hour. They brought out chips and salsa. The salsa was good. We ordered the the nachos that were half off. The nachos had shredded beef, monteray jack, cilantro, sour cream, salsa, and lettuce. The nachos were also very good. I then ordered Fish Tacos, Ala Parilla which was mahi mahi marinated in Mexican Garlic Sauce, brushed with Mexican seasonings and served on corn tortillas and a bed of red cabbage. Pico de Gallo Salsa topped with cheddar jack cheese and tangy ranch dressing. Those were the best fish tacos I have had. The fish was very fresh and seasoned perfectly. I didn't get a chance to order a margarita but I saw a tray of margaritas and daiquiris and they were big and looked delicious. All in all this was a beautiful restaurant with great food and great service.

This was my second time back to Manny's. the first time was over a year ago and I was very happy with the meal and service that time also. This time I took a group of 16 people to Manny's on a Sunday night in January. I had a reservation and when we arrived they had a very nice table set aside for us in a separate room. Usually when a restaurant puts you in a separate room by your self it means bad service and cold temps. Not so with Manny's. Our server was on the ball and I have to admit we were a little scattered with our food and drink orders and she handled it with ease. The room temp was also just right. Our group ordered several appetizers including guacamole, ceviche, and calamari. All of the apps were good, but the ceviche and the calamari were outstanding. The calamari was real meaty strips of squid and not those little fried rubber bands that most places try to pass off as calamari. We ordered a bunch of margaritas and mojitos. I am a big fan of mojitos and Manny's has mastered the mojito. They also have some different flavors of mojitos, some of our group tried them and were really pleased. My only gripe with the drinks is that they were a little expensive. The food was excellent. I had the ginger grilled sword fish. The flavor of the sword fish was not masked by the ginger and citrus that was grilled with the fish. As for the other 15 members of the group, they were all happy with their food, but I can't give a review on everything they ate as that would probably make the longest Yelp review ever. So all in all we all loved Manny's and will go back next time we are in the area.

Really sad. Went there for my birthday for lunch. Work called and waitress came while on the phone to take my order. She never came back. 30 minutes later, I left.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
