Chicken salad to die for is the best part of this place. Yes, they have their standard bakery food, and yes, that's good as well, but the chicken salad sandwich keeps me coming back. Open 7-7, be aware, no late night snacking here!

I am glad this cafe is in the Shops at Grand Avenue, since I live and work close by. For lunch, I usually go with the chicken salad sandwich. I like the bread, the sandwich is of decent size, and the bird salad itself is OK, but not great. If you live or work nearby this is a great place to get a bargain on day old bread which is always tasty. I like the flax bread while Mr. R would vote for sourdough. One day a couple of years ago I heard it was National Cookie Day, so I made a pit stop at the cafe to get a cookie, and it was just OK. Great stop for a quick lunch or some bread to go, and you can get in and out in just a few minutes.

Located inside the Shops at Grand Avenue, but on the ground floor (the rest of the food court is upstairs), I walked past here a couple of mornings as I was staying in the Courtyard that's behind the mall. So one morning, I stopped by for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The coffee was not so great, but the sandwich was excellent. A good amount of cheese and ham on top of an egg inside a bread roll and wrapped in foil. Melty meaty goodness. I was stuffed all morning. They also do other sandwiches and pastries. Maybe the coffee was just off that morning?

I signed up for Yelp because my experience was so mediocre. I'm sure this place is great, but today was my first time since I'm an out of towner. Whoever was working this morning at 11:30ish definitely needs to be canned. I walk up with my two brothers & order my sandwich & pay. She disappears in back for 15 mins (understandable since she was working alone, but also felt excessive), & when she comes out, she puts my brown bag on the counter & disappears without eye contact or a 'here you go', without saying thanks, or without acknowledging that my brothers would also like to order. I holler for her a couple times, no response, & my brothers are like "yeaaa, let's just go." So they didn't (luckily) even get food there. I ordered a veggie breakfast sandwich & the veggies were literally soaked in oil. Definitely wasted $5, which isn't that much but is still annoying since I left hungry.

I took me a year of working near the Grand Avenue Mall to find this gem! I ordered "The Bari," a hot sandwich that contains chicken, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato. Pretty simple but the ingredients were packed with flavor -- everything very fresh tasting. Good work.

Working about two blocks from Grand Avenue, I have walked place this place several times on my way up to the food court. I finally stopped today and got a turkey sandwich, chips and a FREE (whoot!) cookie. Only this is - the sandwich was not good. There were literally two slices of super thin turkey that was a little slimy with not a lot of flavor. The tomatoes weren't ripe at all (yes, I'm aware it's winter in Wisconsin). The only saving grace was the bread. The chips I purchased were the tiny 1 oz. bags and was .75 cents... a little steep. Wouldn't recommend that purchase, but maybe will try a salad or something else there... Disappointed... the people were very nice though.

Was here with a coupon I had. For starters, no one was out front when were in and had to wait a few minutes. We both ordered chicken sandwiches and drinks. I can't remember which specific sandwich it was, but pretty basic. Waited a while for our sandwiches which were small and not very good. Would not come here again.

Decent breakfast sandwich (egg and cheese on a roll). I wish they had a wider selection of breads to put my sandwich on... e.g. bagels but not a big deal. If you're staying at a nearby hotel, this place is open at 7am (maybe earlier?) every day, even though the actual mall is closed so a decent place to come for breakfast on the go, including bakery and coffee. There are only four 2-person tables so don't expect to eat here. When I bought my breakfast sandwich, I was given a free cookie too... which was exceptional! Very chewy unlike the hard, stale cookies you get at Panera.

The "Big Bird" sandwich. I'd rather not imagine that I'm eating a beloved character from my childhood, but what can I say? I love sandwiches. The bread was soft and fresh with a delicious chewy crust. Makes sense that a bakery/cafe would have bomb sandwich casing. The sandwich fillings were also very tasty. I got a few add-ons (cheese, onions) and was happily accommodated. The lady working the register was very friendly and remembered me from the last time I was there. Also, I like specials, and Wild Flour has them. On Wednesday, i bought a loaf of cranberry-walnut bread and got a loaf of multigrain for $2.50. On Friday, I got a chocolate chip muffin for $1.25. Nice!

Sort of yum... Was on a business trip working out at Jones Island and a few of us went searching for a place to get lunch and stumbled upon this place. It's a cute little family-run bakery with fresh breads and a pretty extensive collection of coffees and teas. I ordered the grilled roast beef. The beef was sliced too thick and it was sort of tough, but I did enjoy that it came with horseradish sauce and green bell peppers. The bread was really good though, soft and chewy and moist; definitely the highlight of my meal. There are a few seats in the cafe and there were one or two hipster looking people sitting with their laptops, typing away. Appropriately, it was a rainy day, so I would've loved to have been doing the same. The location of this cafe seemed a little desolate and shady, but that viewpoint may be based on the dreary weather we were experiencing. I only gave it 3 stars because they took a while to make our food. Staff seemed friendly but at one point, the two servers were just conversing and not really doing anything, which could be the reason for the delay in food readiness.

    Delicious bakery. Overpriced coffee drinks.

I LOVE the chicken mandarin salad. It has wonderfully seasoned and tender perfect sized pieces of chicken, juicy mandarin oranges and pineapple. Cashews on the side so you can add on your own for those with nut allergies. I recommend the balsamic vinaigrette dressing! Salads come with homemade roll and real butter. Whenever I have this salad I think to myself, wow that was delicious, so hit the spot and was healthy! They also have a salad punch card! Their muffins are huge and they have a great assortment of flavors that change seasonally and one day a week they do a muffin sale! I often bring a dozen into work for my team and they always comment on the size and flavor (everyone seems to like blueberry the best). One of the nicest things about the cafe is that there is a sweet lady who works there everyday and she is so nice that I almost feel like family. One day I forgot my wallet and she let me come back to pay later. Wow! Also the breads are free of fat/oils, sugar, eggs, dairy and preservatives. It is also locally owned (and by a woman!)

the bakery is really nice, I had a delicious cup cake, and everything else looks really appetizing. However, their coffee is expensive and sub-par. maybe if they started brewing anodyne or alterra, i'd be happy. but for a small bakery, they really should have step their coffee game up. I mean, who wants to have a bagel if they're forced to wash it down with caffenated water?

I enjoyed my inaugural visit to these folks Friday, when my colleague took me there to take advantage of their Friday $1 muffin deal. Wild Flour has a wide selection of bakery as well as whatever stripe of coffee you'd like. While I'm not a coffee drinker myself, I also noticed hot chocolate on the menu, and, if I'm not mistaken, a few tea choices. I was particularly pleased to note that the bakers are very conscious of their choices, offering vegan options, whole grain options, and organic options. The muffins alone are worth a return trip (my colleagues seem to be addicted anyway), but the breads sound heavenly too.
