I was giving out suggestions for mothers day..brunch place, French place, casino place.... Dad: "that place in the casino sounds great." Everyone loves a casino. That aside, I thought the food-service-atmosphere here was really quite good, while prices were very reasonable. There were alot of choices hovering a little over the $10 mark. My shrimp pesto pizza (not wild mushroom-I labelled it wrong) was $11. It came with a balsamic drizzle. I asked how much balsamic was on the pizza (vinegar isn't my thing) and they offered to request a light drizzle without my having to ask. We had the sweetest server (Sarah? Stacy?) who didn't rush us at all and was happy to chat away with my mom (who loves chatting up server's) They also have an extensive wine and drink list and menu, along with quite a few coffee drinks, but the best thing I had were these cream sodas they made there. it was a fruit syrup flavor, cream and seltzer --they even had sugar free. (I realize it may sound weird but it tasted delicious!) My one caveat was when they seated us at a table and we asked for a booth they said those were all "reserved". You know that means maybe two of them were filled during our time there. (If you happen to accidentally lose $10 in a poker machine on the way out of here too, its nice that you can use your city tin to offset the losses.)

Atmosphere is way better than the pictures on the Casino's website make it look. Our server was very nice and very busy. She was late on a few things but we didn't care because the food was good and served in a timely manner. Our Calamari was solid. It wasn't greasy and was crunchy good. It was cooked perfectly. Our entrees were nice too. Slightly below average in the amount of food served my Pork chop was flavorful and cooked nicely. The chop was high quality and had likely been brined showing skill by the chef. My wife have pan sauteed whitefish which she liked. The mash potatoes on both dishes was good. The spinach and asparagus were both good too. I'd like to see more menu choices other than that I can say this place is way better than the buffet.

I was thrilled to hear that Potow was getting an Italian restaurant, but my three experiences there went from great to just ok. My first time there was last year with a large party and I think I had the best Caprese salad ever. Why in the world was it taken off of the menu? Apparently, it's a seasonal item? Well, the service was decent and the wine was delicious. I shared a chicken dish and it was wonderful. I'm not sure if I had too much to drink, but I remember everything tasting so good. I went again for happy hour and had the tiniest plate of mussels. Come on. I was not pleased. My friend from out of town had the bruschetta and wasn't impressed. I was just at Wild Earth recently for my birthday. The server was very inexperienced and when I accidentally broke a wine glass and got wine all over myself, the server didn't seem to rush to get me napkins. Thankfully, the buser (maybe?) was very attentive and made my time there a little better. Let me say that the lasagna was not good and overall it was a bit too expensive.

Fine dining...I think not. Ordered the lasagna and a Caesar salad. The lasagna was awful. There is no way that this was fresh. It looked and tasted like a frozen product that had been heated up. Sauce had a fishy taste to it, as did the sauce my wife had with her spaghetti and meatballs with over cooked pasta and an odd texture to the meatballs.. I have not not finished any meal since I was ten years old. I did not finish this meal, even though I was still hungry. Although this doesn't have much to do with food, we expected a little more of a classy environment. We dressed up only to see people in sleeveless t-shirts and shorts enjoying their warmed over frozen entrees. Don't get me wrong. It is not the fault of the folks dining, but when an establishment claims to be a fine dining establishment you don't expect the Olive Garden experience although I think I would have enjoyed the Olive Garden food more. Don't go here is you want a fine dining experience.

Very impressed with the food. We had the Early Bird special for $15...pick a soup/salad + entree + dessert. Everything from the courtesy bread to the cookie in our dessert gelato was great. Would have given 5 stars but our waitress got our bill wrong, plus said she'd come back with silverware but didn't, and I ordered my steak medium but it was more like medium rare.

Went here last night for dinner with my bf and sister. I had ordered the lasagna and my bf and sister ordered the spaghetti. The potions is gigantic! It came with plenty of meat sauce. The waitress is attentive. She brought me coffee and it was like warm but she was nice to brew a new pot for me. The bread was good with the olive oil dipping sauce. Overall experienced we had a great meal for a reasonable price.

As a little kid, I remember Sally Papia pinching my cheeks, saying "gabella" and dragging me back into the kitchen and shoving piece of Italian bread, soaked in "sugu" into my mouth.. Its easily one of my fondest memories of my childhood, so needless to say.. Good old eastside "Amer-cilian" has not only tainted my view of anything labeled "Italian" but for me, it's also set the bar for all things culinary. I grew up on this shit. I don't thing I've missed a Sunday dinner at my Ma's since I was born. Food is religion for me. So I walked into Wild Earth expecting a really good Poker Face, and a shit hand. I started off with the Muscles as a starter. So far so good. The menu describes them as, "Prince Edward Island muscles, steamed in fish stock, white wine, cream, and tomato garlic, and spicy capicola (gabagoo). They were cooked perfectly, the sauce had a really good balance of creamy-sweet.. with just a bit of "bite" and the muscles themselves brought just the right amount of "warf" to my pallet. Fresh, bold, and not over-powering or fishy. Would order again. Moving on the main, I went for the most ambitious, and risky thing on the menu, the Futti di Mare (Linguine, rock shrimp, scallops, calamari, clams, and a roasted tomato garlic sauce. Oh boy. Here we go. I ate. Expecting that the next bite was going to remind me that I had just ordered a seafood dish.. In Milwaukee.. at a casino (none the less), damn. It was fantastic. The pasta was al dente, again the seafood was (almost) market grade, the calamari was "so so" but overall, with so many opportunities for this dish to go pear shaped, it ran the gauntlet and emerged a victor.. (or so my satisfied stomach, and empty bowl says). This meal was so pleasant, that just for shits and grins, I ordered a small side of the "sugu" (red sauce) just to sure I wasn't drunk on the thought of "winning big" downstairs. The consistency was to my liking, a bit thick (don't tell my Grandma), but it was also a little too sweet. To be fair, I didn't turn my nose up at it, I utabana'd the rest of my bread in the little bowl, and enjoyed every bite. I never "recommend" or "insist" that people try a restaurant, because opinions are like a$$holes. BUT.. Wild Earth definitely made me happy, and to me, that's a big deal.. because in my house, food was religion.

The bread, oh so delicious. The mussels were my absolute favorite, followed by the Fettuccine Alfredo. Can't wait to go back and try the new wild caught salmon entree. Love their new menu.

City TIn 2015 Review! Well to start we were given butter/bread. Nothing special and the butter is wrapped in tinfoil. No thanks. Were were also given some bland olive oil. Pass. Easy to fix they could create their own butter mix and add some herbs to the olive oil. Just a suggestion. I had a hurricane drink. Really good, but it was in the oddest, small glass. Atmosphere. Well, I was actually at the end of the restaurant but could still here the casino. Very stange mix of casino music (drums) and frank signature. The table was just too big for two, not meant for cozy sharing. Our server Shalita was super nice, hardworking. Thumbs up for her. She was spot on for all her food recommendations. Dinner: Sean ordered the mussels. They are good, nice and tender. I suggest less cream and more kick. Let that underlying curry flavor shine, it is good. I had something with pasta and seafood mix (sorry forgot the name). The seafood was good. I would order this again. Many places can go so wrong on seafood but it was cooked perfectly what lacks is maybe overall taste. The sauce tasted the same as the mussels with less cream. Actually pretty good but I just has this with the mussels and would have liked something different. Dessert: Peanut butter something was so wrong in texture and taste for me. Sean did finish it though. The texture had this odd gelatin on top and the taste was too milk chocolate for me. Overall I will pass on wWild Earth but I am glad I tried it.

After surfing the menu online I had no idea what to order with my gift certificate I won at the Yelp! Potowatomi event. The menu itself is pretty price with entrees from $15-40 We made a 5:15Pm reservation but really didn't need one because the place was empty. They offered a prix fixe menu for $15/ pp with the choice of Cesar salad or mushroom soup. We started out with fresh made bread and olive oil to dip in. The entrees were spaghetti and meatballs which the hubby ordered.and puttenesca and canoli for dessert. The portion sizes were ginormous! I ate about 1/3 of my dish and got the dessert to go also. All in all the food was delicious.

After hemming and hawing, I finally have come down to a 4 star rating, but really it's a solid 3.5 for sure. The husband and I went here for dinner for a few different reasons. 1. We had a City Tin Coaster burning a hole in our pocket. 2. We had tickets for the Northern Lights Theater that night. 3. The drink specials were cheap at $3.00. We decided to arrive early to take advantage of the M-F Happy Hour Drink Specials. They offer any rail, beer (tap or bottle, domestic or import) or house wines at $3.00. This offer is good at the bar in the casino, and is even offered in the restaurants. I had a nice house pinot grigio, and husband ordered a Stella Artois. Not a bad start. They do also offer Tue-Thurs Early Bird Special $15 price fix menu that looks like a good deal, but we choose to order off the standard menu. The meal started with bread and seasoned olive oil. The olive oil was of good quality and had nice fruit undertones. The bread was more like a ciabatta roll. It was okay, but not my first choice for a bread basket. We decided on two appetizers to share. First was the Fried Artichokes. The artichoke hearts were lightly breaded with parmesan cheese and deep fried. Then served with a truffle mayo. They were good, but did not blow me away. I think we would try something else on our next visit. Our second appetizer was the Sun-Dried Tomato & Spinach Dip. It was a solid dip, but too large a portion for just the two of us, as it was very rich. For entrees, we ordered the Frutti di Mare and the Lasagna with Bolognese. Of the two dishes, the winner was clearly the Lasagna. The Frutti di Mare was a solid Italian seafood dish given that we are in landlocked WI. The pasta was al dente, and the seafood was all cooked correctly. The shrimp, squid, clams and mussels were all perfect, and nothing was overdone. The sauce on the pasta was lacking in flavor depth. It could have used more garlic, wine or something. It was just a bit flat. The Lasagna was much better. The extra $2 for the Bolognese sauce was worth the upgrade. The portion size was large, and the dish as not greasy, as often times happens with so much meat and cheese on the plate. The one complaint was that the Bolognese was not quite hot enough, and was just barley warm, while the Lasagna was piping hot. We did advise the server, who offered to remake the dish, but my husband was fine with the temperature and did not want mine to get cold while a re-order was prepared. For a pre-show dinner, it was a nice option. We left satisfied and save d a few extra dollars to put in the slots after the concert.

The service was good and the staff was friendly. However, the food was eh. To start we ordered a flatbread which actually wasn't bad at all. My mom got the shrimp scampi. It was decent but to me tasted a little too fishy. I had the chicken & asparagus linguini. It was absolutely horrible. The pasta wasn't fully cooked. The chicken was chewy and processed, & the sauce didn't taste like anything. My brother got the chicken Cesar salad. The salad part was good but once again the chicken was a bust. I think it's safe to say DO NOT ORDER CHICKEN FROM HERE, unless you like eating rubber for dinner. Desert was good :) we got the cheesecake

In our I've-lost-count-we've-so-many-times tried-so-many-times attempt to find a great Italian restaurant we tried this place. Let's start with the positives, then we'll move to the 2-star reasons Pros: large and affordable wine list; nice atmosphere; polite servers; connected to casino & often has discounts mailed for Firekeeper members Cons: food was not good

This is supposedly their fine dining restaurant, but I'd say it's an Olive Garden wearing its Sunday best. The four of us showed up here at 7:45 to eat before bingo and thought we'd be able to eat and get to the bingo hall by 8:45. We had a short (less than five minute) wait and we were seated in a nice roomy booth. Our server was nice, but the service was really slow. They had a couple big parties and got backed up, so we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our food. She brought us a basket with two loaves of warm bread while we waited, but the delay dampened our plans to sit in the non-smoking section in the bingo hall. The bread was tasty with a warm soft center and had just the right amount of crunch in the crust. For an appetizer, I ordered fried artichoke tossed in parmesan with a special mayo on the side. I didn't care for the mayo, but since I like artichoke, I thought that was okay. I ordered a cesar salad with chicken for my meal. It was $6 plus $3 for chicken. There was a decent amount of chicken, but the $6 for the lettuce, 5 croutons and a few flakes of parmesan cheese was a joke. The $6 salad is their dinner size, so I'd hate to see what their side salad looked like. My friends ordered chicken piccata (which they didn't finish), spaghetti with meatballs (pile of pasta with two HUGE meatballs, which they didn't finish), and my boyfriend ordered the chicken on a pile of beans with kale. It was definitely not worth $17. To make-up for the delay in the service she offered us free cheesecake, which then ended up being gone so instead we received four cannolis. They were mediocre, but free. All in all, I'd hit the buffet before I'd go here again because at least there you have a few chances to get things wrong, but at least our server was nice.

OK, I know what you're saying..really Ron R? 5 stars for the casino restaurant? Really? Yes. REALLY. Since we moved here a few years ago, my Lasagna to Body ratio has dropped way below healthy standards for a male of German descent. I've tried several Italian places, they were good, but just not "Oh my God that is so freaking incredible!" good. That was until last night. We were looking for something to do for dinner, so we hopped on the Bingo shuttle with the intentions of hitting the Dream Dance joint - but DANG that was pricey. So we moved down the hall to the Wild Earth Cucina. We sat at the bar, and ordered drinks. Ordered from the menu, and the tender brought a nice loaf of warm, crusty ciabatta with a olive oil and oregano mixture. YUM! Then the lasagna- a nice big tall slice of pasta, cheese (God I love cheese), meat, cheese (did I say I love cheese??) sauce, OMG it was freaking GOOD. I had the bolognese sauce, that just made it that much better. Look, I'm a pretty BIG boy - but I left some of that lasagna behind on the plate. It was a LARGE hunk of pasta. We shared a cannoli - that I suppose was a "meh" moment. I think they are kinda missing the boat with the cannoli. Oh, well, I'll get my cannoli from Sciortino. But from now on, my lasagna comes from Wild Earth Cucina. Overall, the meal was very easy on the wallet! Unfortunately, the trip back to the Bingo shuttle managed to suck an extra $30 from my wallet. Oh well, I'd rather be lucky in my striking good looks than lucky in the casino.

I have lost my trust for Carol Deptolla's advice. I wonder if Poto offered her a free couple nights at the new hotel when it opens, or free chips to play the tables for a night. Either way - I'm very curious how Wild Earth was plugged into her Top 30 Restaurants of Milwaukee .. as it not worthy. Our servers, although polite - seemed somewhat inexpereinced with serving at a fine dining restaurant. It took me 3 different beer orders including 3 times the waitress came back, for me to actually get a beer. First beer they were out of, second beer they had a problem with the keg apparently. Third time's a charm. We had a reservation for 6 (only 4 showed up) and they automatically put us in our own little dining room which I thought was really nice. It was almost like I reserved a VIP area for the evening. We even had our own TV we could control or turn the TV off and have our own music in the room. The bread had been laying on the table for awhile before we arrived it seemed and I'm indifferent on this - it was nice to have the bread waiting for us to eat the second we sat down - but then again I enjoy warm bread which this was not. Besides the unavailability of the requested beers, their drink menu was ok. Nothing spectacular, but not lacking either. Ironically the women on our "double date" got the same dish and us men got the same dish. We had Chicken Picatta, they had some pasta entree. The Chicken Picatta was not good. It wasn't bad, but it was very average. I almost prefer the Chicken Picatta at Cheesecake Factory. Also, we order mussels as an appetizer but I did not try. Our group said they were good. When the bill came, it wasn't cheap and I wasn't pleased. Although our evening continuted into the Casino (and that was the plan) I would have much rather dined somewhere else. This restaurant isn't horrible - but it's definitely not Top 30 in the city. If the food and the menu availability had been a little better, it would've been okay. But I don't see myself returning here - I'd much rather spend my money and Dream Dance - which is amazing.

Let me start with the positive because it's going to be the shortest part. The wait staff and bartenders are amazing courteous and a delight. But unfortunately that's where the story ends for the positive. Before rating any restaurant poorly I like to try to give it a second chance. But they did so poorly the first time as far as the food goes it was difficult to go back. But against my better judgement I did my only regret about giving them a second chance is that I had to subject my beautiful significant other to it as well. So here goes the negatives. The management stand around yelling at servers. It did not look like a fun working environment and nor is it professional. I am convinced that all the food comes from either frozen or a box because although the presentation is nice it is sad and usually the wrong texter. So stuff that was supposed to be hard I you like toast would be mushy and things that were supposed to be soft like mashed potatoes would be hard as if they were not cooked properly. This is just another example on the way the pottawatomi does business. They make everything look beautiful from the outside but the inside its just frozen. Someone should tell them that just giving your menu high prices does not mean it gives you high ratinThe worst part of the entire experience is after this was told to management on how poor our experience was. She did not offer to adjust the bill or coupon or anything to that matter. All she cared about was who was the wait staff and why the quality of food was somehow the wait staff fault. This is downtown Milwaukee so there are plenty of great restaurants that surrounds the area do a little research and you'll save yourself from my two experiences.

I would like to give Wild Earth more Stars, I really do, but there were enough issues that keep me from giving it a better rating. What I had was OK to Good. I Started with a glass of Prosecco and an order of Fried Artichokes. The Prosecco was slightly sweet, bubbly and refreshing. The Artichokes were crispy, earthy and rich. The White Truffle Mayo they came with had very little truffle flavor. I also tried the Pasta Margherita which was Linguine with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Garlic, Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Tomatoes and Basil. This Pasta was fresh, light and flavorful. Now on to the problems. First, was the timing of service. After I was seated it took quite a long time for someone to acknowledge me. When someone finally did, they took my drink order and my app order. My Artichokes came out almost immediately, but I didn't get my Prosecco for another 10 minutes. Nothing Major...just annoying. After that there was another large gap waiting for my Pasta. The other thing that I found weird was what wasn't on the menu. There was No Ravioli, No Pappardelle and No Tiramisu for dessert. I just find it strange that a place that bills itself as, "a new take on a traditional Italian", Wouldn't have their own version of these three traditional classics on their menu. Wild Earth is Wheelchair Accessible and despite the glitches, the food was good enough that I'll be back to try them again.

Let me start with the staff was very polite, pleasant and attentive... the food, terrible... I had a Carbonara that was NOT a Carbonara more like Alfredo and the chicken was grainy, my wife had a Flatbread that was so salty she could not eat it. The wines do not seem to be properly stored and of the 4 (some even have a 2 glass minimum) I tried they all had turned to vinegar.. the staff was not educated on the Italian wines on the menu and had no idea what was what on the list . Also they do not offer sparkling water other than tonic water. Overall I blame management for the entire debacle, the staff should be trained and the food should have some semblance of the description. Unless there is a major change in this restaurant we will not return. It is very far from fine Italian dining.

I enjoyed Wild Earth as part of a MKEFoodie event, so I did not have the full sit-down experience. However, the food I did try and the service I did receive were awesome. After living in Italy, my expectation of Italian food has increased and WIld Earth more than met the bar. The Food: Wild Earth provided a tenderloin carving station, but I see on the menu that it's not an available option (unless it's a special?). The med-rare loin was succulent and dressed with olive oil and fresh herbs. Paired with parmesan olive-oil mashed potatoes the tenderloin was a great beginning to my Wild Earth experience. I also tried the Salmon Penne, which was made scratch right in front of my face. The dill cream sauce was delicate (fresh dill, not dried) and did not overpower the rest of the ingredients. We got to partake of a make-your-own-flatbread station, which was a nice treat. I made one with olives, peperoncini, and mushrooms with Wild Earth's tomato sauce. It was delicious. The biggest problem I have with woodfire pizzas is that most places don't get the crust very crispy - especially in the middle. This flatbread came out great and my friend went up to order a second. The Service: Every staff member was incredibly friendly. They worked very well as a team making sure plates, glasses, and silverware were constantly cleared as we foodies made our way around to all of the stations. There weren't any tip jars anywhere otherwise I would've made my appreciation financially known. The Bar: Wild Earth is one of the very few places I've seen serve Barolo by the glass. Their premium wines do require a two-glass minimum though, so be aware. They have an excellent cocktail menu featuring Italian ingredients and a Digestivo list that I was sorely tempted to try. I was distracted by the beer and instead ordered a Baladin Nora. The thing about Italy is that everything is terribly regional, and where I lived I was, for the most part, relegated to La Marche wines, cheeses, and liqueurs. It's nice to try something new, no? Sidenote: The gelato and italian sodas were also delicious. Pistachio is my favorite gelato flavor (though the chocolate was deliciously rich), and blackberry passionfruit was a surprisingly delightful italian soda flavor pairing.

Absolutely horrible food. I LOVE braised short ribs. The chianti braised short rib was 90% inedible fat. The 10% that actually was meat, I had to cut with a knife which is not a good sign for a good braised short rib. The cheesy polenta it came with (i usually love polenta) tasted like bland cream of wheat. Not cooked properly. Maybe this is unfair giving a review on 1 dish but very disappointing for the 25 dollar price tag.

When it comes to Italian food I am a real snob. The sauce has to be homemade and the ingredients have to be fresh. Wild Earth did not let me down. First the dining experience is of a 4-5 star restaurant with cloth table clothes. The vibe is friendly and family. My husband and I chose traditional spaghetti and meat ball, caesar salad and chicken carbonara. Healthy size portions and very reasonable priced. The server was very polite and took very good care of us. I highly recommend you give this place a try. It won't bankrupt your pocket book. I have gone back and eaten there two times since I wrote this review.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
