The soup was incredible. I went with the spicy gumbo and it was fantastic. The flavor was evident in every bite and the fresh ingredients made for an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is awesome. Quality breakfast and lunch and when I quality I mean quality. The frittata breakfast wraps are ridiculously good and inexpensive.

Great soups and sandwiches and Awesome staff. I was in one other time when the location opened near my office and the counter lady actually remembered my preferences, amazing customer service. Don't know what you want? they will gladly let you sample your top picks. I recommend the Jambalaya or the Baked Potato but you cant go wrong with any of them.

This place is great! I've tried a few of their soups and all have been good but the jambalaya might be my favorite!

Good Soups - sometimes they will have an off the menu daily special to surprise you. Always willing to let you sample a soup before buying. I've also tried the sandwiches which were ok. The pulled chicken was pretty good with the mojo sauce, the meatball was lacking spice; slightly boring/bland because its literally meat on bread - not much seasoning wise to jazz it up. Stick with the soup and you will be pleased. Nice rotation lunch place to consider if you work downtown.

Stopped in for lunch today. Each weekday features a different soup of the day, in addition to Jambalaya, Baked Potato, Chili, Chicken Vegetable, and Cream of Tomato Parmesan. Today's soup of the day was Chicken Pot Pie. It had most of the elements I would expect in a chicken pot pie: peas, carrots, potato, chicken, and a thick and creamy chicken-based broth. Instead of crunchy pie crust pieces, which I expected to find, there were a few large pieces of the bread that they serve with their soups. It served its purpose for me, but the contrast of a crunchy texture would have appealed to me more, maybe use stale bread croutons so the bread doesn't go to waste if unused. That's actually a great idea! You're welcome, Uncanny Soup Co.! The broth wasn't as thick as a pot pie, but it's a soup so it probably should not have been. I was good with the consistency and seasoning of this broth. The veggies were soft and everything worked for me. I didn't get a 5-star wow factor, but the soup was good and I will go back again to try other soups and sandwiches. Sandwiches include Mom's Meatloaf, Granny's Meatball, Pulled Chicken, and a Rolled Pork Sandwich. Soup and sandwich combos are also available with more flexible options than I usually see. Cups of soup are $4.50 and bows are $6.00, both include a large chunk of homemade bread. I want to make a note that I received excellent customer service today. I ordered a cup of tap water to drink. It didn't come with my order and I chose to forget it, since my soup didn't seem too hot. After I sat near the entrance, one of the staff members tracked me down and brought me the water. I honestly was not expecting that and wanted to make a point of sharing that experience with you. I will not soon forget that effort. You can dine in or carry out. If dining in, please bus your own table. Don't leave a mess for the next person. There is a station in the main hall for placing your utensils, bowls, and baskets. A trash can is next to it. There are now at least 6 businesses within 2 blocks of each other for soups and sandwiches. I really hope all of the businesses can be successful. This location has been difficult for the predecessors. Also, an article I read on OnMilwaukee.com mentioned that the UNcanny Soup products can be found at the local grocery stores. Katie K. confirmed today after she saw my check-in.

I work downtown and had too much work to leave my desk for lunch so I opted to try these folks since they do delivery/grubhub. The delivery minimum is $15 so I decided to plan my meals for the entire day and got two bowls of the tomato/Parmesan soup, the mac and cheese and some bread pudding for desert. Delivery was pretty quick, ordered online and my food was here in half an hour. I was really feelin' cheesy so I ate the 4 cheese mac first, and it was good, except that it was so hot that it melted the styrofoam and ended up tasting like styrofoam, too (bummer). I get that this is a downtown lunch place, but I sort of have the feeling that the mac and cheese was premade and sat around all day in a temp keeper. The soup was just okay, though I feel that it tasted more like ragu with a ton of parm, meaning that it was very thick and sweet, which is something I don't normally expect in a soup, particularly one made of tomatoes. Last but not least, the bread pudding. It was cold. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be that way or if I was supposed to warm it up, but I ate it cold. It was tasty, but I was a little disappointed that the center of the bread wasn't moist/still tasted like regular white bread instead of the sauce that was over the rest of it. Overall, I'd say it was an okay experience. I get that the styrofoam is cheaper from a business standpoint, but my food ended up tasting like styrofoam, which is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. I'd recommend switching over to something more environmentally/taste bud friendly like paper or plastic cups. I'll probably stop by in person, but don't know that I will do delivery again since I had such a sour experience....

Confused. The first time our office ordered from here, I had the tomato soup and a few coworkers had the baked potato soup. It was amazing-never before had such great tomato soup and my coworkers were raving of the potato soup. Ordered again today, and instead got horrible food. The baked potato was more cheese and scallops than potato, and the tomato soup was pizza sauce in a bowl. I am not kidding, pizza sauce....in a bowl. Maybe it was meant for their meatball subs? Except it did have shredded cheese...and given with the piece of bread. Bad chef today? Whatever the reason, Don't think I will ever risk receiving such a bad meal again and not going back to Uncanny. We were all disgusted by our meal and very dissapointed after such a great first experience and the free delivery. My stomach hurts just writing this review

They're back! Great soup, sandwiches. Just had the baked potato soup with the works. Exactly as I remembered it! Meatloaf sandwich was yummy, too. Combos are your best bet. $8 for half sandwich and cup of soup AND soda or bottled water!

First time here today. It won't be my last. The place is nice and spacious. It would be a great for someone eating solo with a book or with coworkers. The staff was very friendly and even let me try a sample of something before I ordered it. I had the jambalaya (almost perfect except that it had no rice - jambalaya should have rice) and the blue cheese slaw (fresh and creamy). They have a lot of delicious-sounding items on their menu, so I look forward to going back and trying more.

The woman behind the counter whom im assuming is the owner was more than helpful and proud to serve her food (which everything down to the pickled veggies is homemade). I got the combo with the "awesome sandwich" and broccoli and cheese soup. Let me tell you, she has every right to be proud of what she serves. Delicious.

The food here is spectacular. I have had food at both locations. They have specials all the time. My Favorite was the loaf of bread and a quart of soup deal. You will love this place.
