I wanna give it 3 1/2, but Yelp is all like "YOU SHALL NOT SPLIT THE STARS, DIAPERTONGUE!" So some of you may know this place as Marc Antony's (not the Roman General, but the Riverwest Transvestite). I was told it was closed for a bit and reopened as Treats right around the time I moved here (2 years ago). They used to be known for live music, but the back room/stage area is now a really, really nicely appointed lounge with clean, comfy leather furniture and a door leading to a pretty substantial patio out back. There's plenty of places to sit in this place, from the bar in front all the way back to the astroturf covered outdoor area. Lots of little nooks and crannies that can feel intimate even with a crowd. I think Marc is just really good at arranging furniture in a conducive manner. Speaking of him, Marc is a pretty friendly guy (his daughter tends bar there as well) who dresses, often, like one of the Mary Jane Girls. I believe him to be a genuine Superfreak, but don't let his appearance get the best of you. He runs a nice joint. Booze is CHEAP, meng. Talkin' cheapest around cheap. The crowd is different every time I go there, very diverse. It's LGBT friendly, just close enough to Harambee and the Reservoir park area that you might be the only honky on a given night, and I've seen my share of bikers there as well. The only reason it doesn't get 4 stars is that the patio is in disrepair, but not enough to discourage you from hanging out. They need to ditch the cheesy astroturf and do some general fix-up stuff that wouldn't take a whole lot of effort. Good jukebox, some off-street parking. Check it out, you'll be surprised.
