This Sbux is better than average. As others have mentioned, the service from the staff is great. Yes, it is way too small considering the population it serves but the baristas and cashiers always work quickly and efficiently with a smile on their faces. The chalkboard walls are pretty fab. I didn't study here very much when I lived nearby just because of how loud it tends to get from all the caffeine-buzzed students, but if you don't get distracted by noise, this would be a good study spot for you! I come back every once in a while and feel all nostalgic n' stuff. Keep it up, gang. Thanks for the caffeine.

This S'Bux sustained me as a Marquette Undergrad. The employees were great, and I've seldom seen the line-busting skill of these folks at any other Starbucks. Apparently it's the busiest Starbucks in Wisconsin, which wouldn't surprise me. The space is smallish, but shockingly roomy with lots of tables and chairs for meetings or study sessions. A-OK.

One of my go-to spots for meetups, meetings, and plain old studying. It's relatively packed throughout the semester, but if you do find a spot you can bet you won't be moving for a while. Just be patient with the staff there, especially during the start of the year as most of them are students.

Yikes! I've never seen a Starbucks so packed! We visited here at 9am on a Saturday morning. After driving from Chicago to Milwaukee 3 of my boys got some hot chocolate and I refueled with a much needed coffee. The line was quite long and it moved not so quickly. I visited the restroom and when I came back, the boys were in line at the same spot. They hadn't moved! I commented to the person in front of me about the length of the line and she said "This is nothing, you should see it during the week". Ok, I'm glad I don't! This place can get crowded from all the Marquette students since it's near their campus. I've reminded son #1 that coffee is FREE at the student cafeteria and he should use that option, but apparently not all parents are as cheap as me. Lots of students were here on a Saturday, so who knows how many are here during the week! I like my Starbucks coffee and am glad that I'm only here as a tourist occasionally. I could go off the deep end if I had to wait in a line like that on a frequent basis.

Mediocre coffee. Great service. This location is always busy, maybe even too busy considering its size. The baristas seem to always be working very hard to keep up with the crowds, but they do a great job. The coffee just seems chalky to me, but that is just how Starbucks has always been for me. It's also pretty expensive for just a cup of joe. That being said, it is also very caffinated, which I consider a plus. All in all, this Starbucks really just needs some more space to get a better review.

I was in Milwaukee for a convention. I always eat oatmeal for breakfast with coffee. This Starbucks was only a half a block from my hotel. I went there for my breakfast each day. Their oatmeal is really delicious with great toppings; dried fruit, nuts, and brown sugar. I did not use the brown sugar. Of course the coffee was good. This Starbucks is very comfortable with a beautiful fireplace. The servers are very friendly. I am sure they get a lot of business from the Convention Center across the street. If you are there in Downtown Milwaukee, this is a great place to get and enjoy your coffee and . . .

I'm sorry I took you for granted, Marquette Starbucks. I always appreciated the wonderful service (the baristas are so amazingly nice) despite how busy it gets. The location is too small to suit how many people it serves, but the facilities are clean and nice. And despite these huge lines, coffee came out fast and done right. Now that I've graduated and seen the world, I realize not all Starbucks are at this level of service. This place does everything right, and for four years I was very lucky to have this right on campus!

I don't normally yelp chain establishments. But when i feel the need to send some positive vibes somewhere i cant resist the urge. I stop into this Starbucks almost every morning The staff usually know what im going to order and make it as soon as i come in the door. Its good to feel like your remembered right? Its like cheers in here where everyone knows your name.Well maybe not to this extend but....ah never mind you get it. The staff are usually upbeat and chipper even at 7am. I always applaud diversity when i see it so kudos to this location. Considering that there is only one Starbucks toward the north side of town and the rest are either in suburbs or outside of Milwaukee county. This Starbucks is a little bigger than the other ones that i have visited before. It is also crowded with college student most mornings i stop in. This isnt a negative by any means. They dont bother me and i dont bother them sitting on their apple laptops! This location is right down town and accessible. If you didnt know there is a small parking lot behind the building. You can access it via either one way street either side of the Starbucks. Inside is clean, there is ample room for sitting or shooting the breeze with someone you havent seen in a while.

Oh Starbucks, how can I ever say anything bad about you!? :) This location is really cool because it has a very student-vibe, and duh, it's because it's literally on the Marquette campus. My fav part is their huge blackboard wall that people put quotes up on, I love that!! The staff are friendly, and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because they can be a little slow at times. :)

This is one of the best Starbucks locations I have visited. Best music, really the best. I love the varieties of furniture here - yes it is a big deal because they can accommodate more customers based on their varied party size. There is no shortage of outlets here. Staff is very friendly and so far my drinks have been fixed to my liking. There are lovely blackboards in the front room and sometimes the baristas will showcase their good painting skills and let you know what's good and new. On the wall, they change every now and then the art work they display. They look like they are from independent and budding artists. This just makes the whole Bux environment even more tasteful, classy and different. Don't get me wrong, it is still a chain. But it is a very bourgeois kind of Starbucks, which is becoming a more and more common theme the company is trying to deliver. One small thing but it is a universal tactic utilized by all Bux locations - it gets incredibly cold. Guess they want you to either get out or get more (warm) drinks.

Stuffs here are randomly. Some are great. Some are sucks. Today I ordered a grande green tea latte with one shot espresso. That woman yelled what's that! Than she gave me attitude, and made coffee like a poo. So disappointing.

Really Colin? You're stooping so low as to review one of the most popular coffee chains in America? Yes. Yes I am. I've stopped by this location at least three times a week (sometimes four) since July 2009. Yeah, it's kind of an addiction. But hey, when you keep receiving gift cards for Sbux... Anyway, the staff at this location is awesome -- especially compared to the other close-to-MU location (on 6th and Wisconsin), where you get dagger eyes for walking in and breaking the workers' texting-inspired reverie. It's gotten to the point that I don't even have to order here -- depending on who is working, they just know. Wow, that is sad. Everyone is super polite and the service is quick no matter if there are 7 or 17 people in line. What puts this one over the top and leads to the review? This morning, I stopped in for my customary drink and due to a minor gaffe, was given the incorrect order. No worries, it's Friday, I'm not in a hurry -- yet my drink was quickly re-made and the kind barista added in a certificate for a free drink on my next visit -- score! Kudos, you caffeinated beverage kings (and queens).

I love Starbucks and this location is one of my faves. I like that it's in an urban area and you get all walks of life. Who doesn't love the college scene; I secretly miss my college days so it's nice to see others enjoying it. You also get the downtown workers and those who live in the area that use this as their morning coffee stop. And, the baristas are great. Amanda has always been so helpful when I have no clue what to to get or what my drinks are called. Though I go to Sbux often enough, I never remember the names to the drinks. Amanda is always spot on with remembering who I am, what I like, and what my kids like when they stop in. While any Sbux is great, I prefer my urban stop with all walks of life there and great baristas.

While Starbucks employees tend to be awesome anyway, this place still has easily one of the friendliest and most polite Starbucks staffs in town. Located right on Marquette University's campus, this Starbucks is a convenient caffeine stop for students and community members alike. The menu and prices don't vary from other Starbucks shops in the area, but the atmosphere is great for studying, holding a small meeting, or catching up with an old friend. Seating includes tall tables, bar seating, low tables, and comfy chairs around the fireplace. Limited parking is available in a a rear lot, along with metered street parking all around. For the summer, they're open 5:30 am - 9 pm Mon-Fri and 6 am - 9 pm on weekends -- which is slightly unfortunate because my caffeine cravings often strike around 9:15.

I've seen my share of the 'bux, and rank this as one of the most pleasant and spacious locations to which I've been. It has so many tables (high, low, long) and comfy chairs (7!) and a fireplace. Across the wall of the "back" seating area they also have a great blown-up photo of a Marquette basketball game: love me some local color. The folks who work here seem very hardworking and friendly and on both occasions when I camped out here for a bit, there were a minimum of obnoxious folk (by which I mean none. I did not find this to be the case at the Starbucks on the ground floor of the Hilton Milwaukee at the intersection of 5th St and W Wisconsin Ave.) This particular Starbucks seems to be well-stocked on the treats as well: both times I had no problem getting one of their delicious multi-grain bagels, which at $1, is both the healthiest and most economical snack to purchase from the 'bux. Not all locations have bagels or have a good amount of them, which often leads to bagel disappointment on my behalf. But not here! The only downside: one needs to get a key from the barista to use the restrooms, which are labelled "male" and "female" rather than two unisex ones. Come on, Starbucks, let's think about the experience of trans folk, bitte.

Fireplace and cozy chairs. What more could you want in a coffee shop?!

I don't get here often, but when I do, I have always found it to have a nice feel to it, a "good vibe." I have never had difficulty getting parking here. Being in the middle of Marquette, it has a fairly young group of patrons.
