First off, this review is for the S. 27th St. location, but it's not listed here. Burger was just OK. We actually purchased 2 different burgers, cut them in half and mixed them up. Couldn't really notice the difference. We both had the onion rings. My brother and I are both big eaters, but I forced myself to finish my o-rings, and he tossed most of his in the garbage. They had a weird, almost peanut butter flavor. Do they fry them in peanut oil? I'll have to check. But I don't think I'll go back, with so many other places to choose from.

Sonic is the only national fast food chain I acknowledge, so I was pleased when this branch opened. Finally today I got a chance to test their version. The carhops were still in rollerskates (in January!) and friendly and efficient as ever. The Tots were perfectly crispy on the outside and squishy on the inside. The grilled chicken wrap was decent, though a little light on tomato. And the cherry limeade still included the maraschino cherry on top. I was happy to reacquaint myself with this old friend (and haven't yet had heartburn problems because of that late lunch).

This morning I thought I would try the steak, egg and cheese burrito. First off it was above BK and MD breakfast burritos. The steak was not what you have at home and was fast food meat but it was kind of tasty. Over all it was ok as far as fast food chains go. Grease ran down the bottom all over my arm so be careful. I would get this a couple times a year just for something different but it will not be a regular. I like to try new food even if it's chain fast food so I will keep an open mind and continue checking out other places. $3.17 for the burrito. The drive thru seemed like ten miniutes from start to leave at 7:30 am and I was the only car in the whole lot. Maby I will check out something different off the menu and update this review.

Horribly painful rediculously slow service. Wow.

Wow. All I wanted was a Route 44 Grape Slushee, a regular Chili Cheese Coney & a large order of Tots. I decided not to go through the drive-thru and just pull up to a parking spot. Bad idea as most of the cars that were in the drive-thru line are gone and I waited over 20 minutes for my order. Very. Very disappointed. If I could go into the negative stars I would.

  • Kristy K.

I can't believe I'm giving 4-stars to a fast food place, but I am a fan of their burgers and tater tots. You have to love a place that will serve burgers for breakfast. I particularly love the Jalapeno Burger.

The absolute worst dining experience ever. Took 3 times to get our order right. And food wasn't very good. And crazy expensive! They even charge for water. Will never come here again.

  • Peyton L.

We thought we'd give them another try but We waited over 15 minutes just to try to get our order through and still no answer. So we just left because we shouldn't have to wait that long just to get shakes! I would rate them NO stars if I could! Horrible service! Worst place ever especially for a fast food restaurant. We definitely won't be coming back.

Ordered a meal and a shake. Took a while to get the order cars that had bigger and smaller orders got food before me yet ordered after me! Well a while later I an order not mine... I ordered a burger and yet I got chicken strips and corn dogs. Still tasty but another 15 minutes to get the burger.

For someone who has experience multiple different sonic locations, this has to be the worst location of them all. After pressing the red button to order, it took them at least 10 minutes to acknowledge that we were there. They were very confused and slow while taking our order. The communication was lacking. We asked for a chicken dinner and he said it did not come with tater tots but the menu says it does. I had asked for honey mustard and ranch sauce and they didn't bring any. Which isn't a big deal...it happens. I pressed the button again and politely asked if they could bring me some since they had forgotten. At least 20 minutes has passed and I am still waiting here for the dipping sauces as I am typing this review. To top it off, my chicken dinner is getting cold! Until this sonic location gets its act together, I am vowing to NEVER come back here again!

  • Randi H.

I only ever go here for the occasional cranberry limeade. Other than that, I don't go. Every time I've ordered food, it's been extremely bad. Nothing beats the one time I got two ultra-cold cheeseburgers, like they'd just been pulled from a refrigerator. This location needs to fix whatever is causing them to suck so bad.

Once we ordered it took a long time to get our food. Once we got our food, we decided to take it home to eat. As I was eating my sausage and egg burrito, I noticed something tasted off about it. It tasted very slimy and there were cold parts - by cold I don't mean luke warm or room temperature - I mean cold like it was taken right out of the refridgerator.

WHY: Was looking for a Burger King. Couldn't find one so settled for this Miller Park Way Sonic location. ORDER & ORDERING: I like the novelty of the drive in. I can sit in my car, listen to their Sonic Radio playing safe pop hits in between commercials for more Sonic food. The menu is HUGE - it was actually hard to find a simple hamburger. So many colors and fonts and call out boxes that it looks like someone drank every Slushie flavor and then threw up on a blank sign. I found the two items I wanted and then hit the "Place Order Button". I was able to pay with my debit card from my car. This technology shouldn't but does impress me. FOOD: I ordered a hamburger no onion and six piece Asian Chili chicken wings. (Funny because there's a Wing Stop thirty yards away.) I saw a sign on the vomit menu that states if you don't receive a receipt you get a $2 credit for your next visit. Ten minutes later my food arrived with the receipt taped to the bag. TASTE: I like that the burger was wrapped in paper and then foil. Easier to eat in a car and keeps it hot. The burger was pretty good as fast food burgers go - maybe a little over cooked but it was also HALF PRICE BURGER TUESDAY. The chicken wings were also good, mainstream tastebuds (from the annoying Sonic commercial get it!?) won't find them too spicy. Not a bad $6 lunch. COMMERCIALS: Let's talk about those commercials. I'd probably visit Sonic more but what sticks in my head are those annoying commercials with the two morons bantering about in a car.

Can i give them 1/2 a star!! What the fuck..been out in the car waiting for about 30 min...and to add injury to insult they bring me the wrong order...man get it together!!! People don't come here...unless you want to wait an hour in your car for your order....two thumbs down....

    (1)
  • Jen M.

I only give Sonic 3 stars instead of 2 because of 1) Cherry limeade! and 2) happy hour from 2 - 4 pm where drinks are half priced is a very good idea. OK, I also have to say that if you are hankerin' for a hot dog, their two new choices are pretty darn good. Otherwise, this is fast food that doesn't stand out. The drive-ins with skating wait staff is unique, but nearly every time I've gone here something has gone wonky with the service. And I mean bad wonky, not good wonky.

    (3)
  • Melissa F.

Consistently disaapointing a d painfully slow. Even when just ordering drinks my last order took 9 minutes. Pour into cup, cover, repeat. Come on! Also had a poor experience with ice cream treats. My shake was ovbiously made after something banana flavored and the machine wasn't cleaned. Totally gross! Too bad their cherry limeade is like crack to me!

  • Melanie B.

So, their food is just okay. I like their breakfast burrito with tots and jalapenos. Hot, fried, and spicy! Yum. However, I LOVE their slushies! I'm addicted to the Route 66 (that's the biggins one for those who don't know) Power-aide Slushie!! It's also a great hangover cure or just a great hydration drink.

  • Amanda S.

I LOVE Sonic's food. I do not love this Sonic location. I've always had terrible service and I'm always guaranteed to have something wrong with my order. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? And despite the terrible experiences I still come back for the delicious food conveniently located on Miller Park Way. A new speaker in the drive thru and improvement in service would greatly enhance this location.

    (2)
  • Lauren M.

Come for the tator tots and slushies. You should probably just drive the down the street for a Culver's burger, though. I've never had a great one here - it's either been way too sloppy or too cold (like no melted cheese). Meh.

  • Anthony P.

If the commercials weren't bad enough the food is even worse. I decided to give the food a chance because they pay so much for advertisement that they must put money in to their food, they clearly do not. The food, although tasteless and bland, was far superior to the workers. I ordered a Turtle Pecan Masterblast, there was no turtle. She only gave me soft serve ice cream and pecans. She could not be understood and was in no way helpful. I'm not sure if I got a Masterblast or if I got Masterblasted by this multimillion dollar corporation.

I haven't been to sonic for awhile because for awhile the food quality went right down the crapper. I decided to try it again today and wasn't blown away by any means....but was satisfied with the burger quality. The tots were drowning in oil and nobody like soggy tots, so that kind of sucked. They've added a nice compliment of shakes for the summer including a personal favorite from when I lived in the south....the banana cream pie shake. Again, I wasn't blown away, but I do feel the burger quality was a bit better than your standard mcd's burger.

OMG... four stars for fast food from me? How can that be? I am rating fast food vs other fast food, not fast food vs gourmet restaurants, or even pubs, or taquerias or anything like that. It is illogical to expect Fleming's or Mo's quality and service out of a fast food place, and it's not fair to rate them in comparison. OK, lecture on reviewing over. This is fast food, and as far as fast food goes, Sonic does very well. The burgers are tasty, the other menu items are creative, the food is fresh and hot... And they bring the stuff to your car on roller skates. What's not to like? Not to mention they have TOTS! Tater tots on a fast food menu. Thank you. Reasonable Chicago dogs and pretty darn tasty chili dogs... As such, I should be five stars, right? Well... Sorry. I can't do it. I don't like their ice cream. It honestly does not taste right to me, and not just because I'm a Milwaukee guy used to premium frozen custard, but even compared to ice cream from Breyers, or Baskin-Robbins or any other standard ice cream shop or store brand. For quick ice cream, I'll take the soft-serve at McDonald's over Sonic. There's something I can't place my finger on, but it's not my favorite. Too creamy, maybe too aerated? Anyway... I happily order Diet Dr Pepper instead of a shake or malt. I'm quite pleased to have that available in a fast food place.

Would have been a five with better service. waited 10 minutes after pressing call button. Was told short on help. Food then came rather quick, nice and hot, good and tasty. Been going to Sonic for decades. Love it.
