Simmer Truck was parked outside of my buidling for lunch today. I was looking for something different to try, even though their awesome Beef Stew was on the menu. They talked me into the Mango Masala, which had already caught me eye, but I'm a carnivore and this was a vegetarian sandwich. I asked what was in it, and he said it was a "spread" of mango, cauliflower, chickpeas, a couple of other veggies I forget and a slew of Indian spices all mixed together. Then the spread is applied to the bread and topped with fresh spinach. It was delicious! The mango flavor was subtle, but the Indian spices were clearly present. I can't believe I loved this sandwich because there was no meat in it! It goes against everything I believe in for a sandwich, except for falafel sandwiches and grilled cheese. I would eat more veggie sandwiches if they were this good. You MUST try the Mango Masala panini!

J'adore, Simmer! Your truck is a school bus, and it's adorable. Check. Your food is health conscious, inventive, and delicious. Check. Vegan/veg options galore. Check. Super nice folks and even a truck mascot in the form of a cute puppy. Check! Simmer's out and about around town tons. They're really working hard to up MKE's food truck game/scene. They're not shy about getting out there and meeting people; you'll see 'em at all sorts of events in addition to their normal lunch hour operation. Give 'em a go when they're in your area, and make sure to tell Steve and Jennifer that Yelp sent you!

Great food option parked across from the US Cellular Center during an event. Much healthier and tastier than the food offered by the venue. I tried the split pea soup, which was very tasty. All soups and paninis sounded yummy. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options. A little overpriced at $6 for soup and a slice of baguette, but worth it compared to other quick food options in the area.

I love the three cheese and tomato panini. I have also had some of their soups and enjoyed them. My last visit, I had the ham and swiss panini with caramelized onions. I was not a fan. I'm considering ordering the mango masala panini, but haven't talked myself into it yet. Simmer Truck is not my favorite food truck, but it is good for some variety. I do think it is a little pricey for what they serve compared to some of the other trucks. I can get a half pound burger with lots of good toppings and fries for the same price as a panini and chips. They should consider lowering their price a dollar and then they would be more competitive.

Simmer was a saving grace while at the US Cellular Arena for a weekend long event. I ate there each day! Amazing vegan soups and vegan creme brulee. I will search them out when visiting Milwaukee.

Came across the very non-distinct school bus food truck called Simmer. They specialize in soups so I gave it a try. I really enjoyed the Beef Barley soup I had as the stock had a lot of depth and there was not a shortage of good things inside. Haven't tried their Panini yet, but I look forward to it as the soup was quite tasty!

I was glad to see Simmer Truck offering an alternative to the concession stands at a venue where I was recently working but wound up being quite disappointed. The ham and Swiss panini I ordered was a pretty pedestrian grilled ham and cheese on sliced supermarket bread, darkened enough that I can only be pretty sure it was some kind of rye. It definitely wasn't the focaccia pictured on their website and definitely was not worth $9.50. I also had the tomato basil soup. I won't take a firm position either way on whether or not it was homemade. What I can say in good faith is that the texture was the same as every canned tomato soup I've ever eaten and the taste was suspiciously close, elevated just a bit by basil that I do believe was fresh. I really wish I had stuck to the concession stand. I could have gotten comparable food cheaper and faster.
