I was very surprised when after my first negative review, the then-manager of Rodizio Grill contacted me and invited me to the restaurant as his guest. I took him up on the offer and made a reservation for two month's time. The night of our dinner I had a funny feeling, so I dug up the e-mail exchange between me and the manager and forwarded all the e-mails to my phone so I would have copies on the ready in case anything went wrong. When we arrived there was no record of my reservation, so I explained the situation and showed the staff my e-mail exchange. She hostess said, "Oh...that manager quit a week or two ago, " but promptly called over the new manager, who honored the old manager's invitation. We were treated very well--maybe even a bit too well. Folks checked in on us constantly, and at times we had a hard time with our conversation because of the interruptions. While the staff was, this time, quite polite and attentive, the decor and food were truly underwhelming. Our chairs were stained, the food at the buffet was tired and limp, and I had the worst lamb I've ever tasted. We ordered dessert, the specialty doughnuts (the Rabanada), and the strawberry garnish was covered in green mold and black slime. I wanted badly to write a glowing update for Rodizio. Even though the manager who extended the offer to try his restaurant again left without notice, I thought the original offer was the right thing to do. And while the staff was exceptionally attentive, the food and decor were way off the mark. I recommend skipping the Rodizio Grill until they decide they can compete in a market where local, Milwaukee-grown, food-to-table restaurants blow away chain operations.

Tuesday had only two options, which I wasn't aware of and that was all you can eat salad or all you can eat salad and meat that they bring out. I asked for a menu and was not offered one. Service was professional, but the food wasn't there for me. I rated a two only because I asked my self one question, would I go there again? It would be a No. Way too pricey for food that isn't the greatest .

I grew up in the salad bar years of the late 1980s. Sizzler. Ponderosa. Bonanza. Country Gardens on the south side, Pandl's on the north side. The beautiful breakfast buffet at the late, lamented, luscious Hartwig's Gobbler. Heck, even WENDYS SuperBar. Everyone and everywhere had a salad bar, from my high school cafeteria to the highest-end restaurants in town. The salad bar movement created healthy choice expectations that influenced my dining expectations ever since. Unfortunately, most of the restaurants I mention here no longer exist, and they've taken that gold standard with them. Until recently, the next best option was Tazino's. And then, I found Xanadu. And its name is Rodizio Grill. Vegetarians, balk no more at the idea of a Brazilian churrascaria. Your time is now. Yes, Rodizio serves uncountable cuts of delectable meats for those of us who can't break our cannibal habits, but the extraordinarily posh salad bar is more than enough to satisfy you for a week, much less a meal. Offering everything from authentic Brazilian dishes (cassava! ceviche!) to gourmet salads (the pineapple/coconut is AMAZING) to marinated cheeses to soups to traditional cheesebreads to fried bananas to traditional salad ingredients -- this might be the best deal in downtown for just $12.99 at lunch. I'll admit that I almost forgot Rodizio served meats. And you will too. THAT GOOD.

Had lunch here last week, and it was great. Maybe I should point out that I never made it out to Sabor when it was in business... that seems to be a big factor for other people's reviews. Upon entering the restaurant, my group was greeted very openly and friendly. We were seated immediately, as only 3 other tables were occupied. It was nice that they seated everyone away from each other, giving a sense of privacy. It was about 3 pm on a Thursday. Right away I was a little bit discouraged to find out that they don't have ANY beers on tap, and they don't have any premiums either (Micro Brews, Heineken, Stella, etc...), but Budweiser in a bottle is ok. Ordered the "Full Rodizio", which includes unlimited appetizers, trips to the salad bar, and various grilled meats. The appetizers were ok, I really only enjoyed the fried bananas. The salad bar was pretty good, although it mostly consisted of pasta-salad type dishes. I would have preferred a build your own-type salad bar. The hot salad bar had some killer mashed potatoes and beef stroganoff, which was very good. It also had rice and beans, which I steered clear of to not fill up before the meat came around. Headlining this event was the MEATS! Even at lunch with the abbreviated menu, they brought out 6 or 7 meats as well as grilled pineapple. This was excellent! After cycling through the meats (top sirloin, garlic beef, sweet & spicy chicken, pork loin, flat iron steak, pork sausage, and 1 or 2 others I'm forgetting... they come back around until you can't eat anymore. After sampling all the meats, they made a second round. I asked for the meats that I wanted again, and was given them without complaint. I left Rodizio completely satisfied! Overall, the service was very friendly and fairly quick. Price for lunch buffet was $18.99, which is definitely the most I will pay for a lunch buffet, but it was worth it. I can't wait to go back and show people how great this place is. The only reasons I gave this place only 4 stars is because their beer selection is terrible, and I prefer to build my own salad.

Always pleasant. I usually make it to lunch. Gauchos kept busy and came by often. They remembered which cuts we preferred and knew to bring enough of those cuts. :D The server was understaffed, though. She barely returned for drink refills. They also used to give more appetizers. It's ok, since you can always ask for more. But if you ask specifically for more pao-de-queijo, with a Brazilian pronunciation, you'd think that's hind for, bring those on. But no, I had to ask for them 4 times, and each time, she would bring back 4 pieces with the 4 pieces of fries - which we didn't touch the first time. On one occasion, I could swear the fries (not potato fries, by the way. Mandiocas, I think?) were just taken back and refried. Hmpt. So the slow service get a star taken off. Overall, happy with the selection of meat and salad bar.

I was here earlier this week for a special date night in downtown Milwaukee. My experience was overwhelmingly positive. The service was remarkable. Our waiter was wonderfully friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. We were served with delicious appetizers--fried bananas, cheese bread, and thick potato slices---the moment we sat down. We were new, so our waiter explained everything for us. We both opted for the Full Rodizio--the salad bar and any and all meats served by the gauchos. We both had drinks as well. I had the white wine sangria, which I enthusiastically recommend. It's huge, strong, and delicious. The salad bar was awesome. While there were traditional "salads," there was so many other yummy selections to choose from. I loved the ceviche, the tomato and mozzarella, and the blt salad. There was pasta, mashed potatoes, beans, rice, greens, and other selections in the warmer right off the salad bar. I didn't get to try everything, but the pasta was very good. The meat was wonderfully flavorful and perfectly cooked. I particularly enjoyed the lamb and the top sirloin. Nothing was over salted--I added just a touch of salt to mine. In addition, the grilled pineapple was unexpectedly delicious--one of the best things I ate that night. Overall, we had a delicious, meal in a gorgeously decorated restaurant and had perfect service. The price came to almost exactly $100--dinner and drinks for two, and the tip. Not a bad cost considering the amazing night we had. This was our first visit to Rodizio Grill, but I am certain that it won't be our last.

Double date night with my roommate. We had a groupon that came with two bottles of wine and dinner for four people. After getting seated and explaining our groupon, getting our wines ordered we set out to try the salad bar. There were a lot of options and I wish I could remember what they were but sadly this review is being done two weeks later after we actually went but I wasn't disappointed with anything I ate. I instead had to limit myself because I wanted try all the different meats. Anyways I loved all the appetizers they brought around, the corn bread, cheesy bread, fried banana thingys so delicious!!! There were so many meats going around and I wanted to try everything but eventually my stomach told me I had to stop, but everything we ate was good. I wish I could remember what my favorites were but definitely eat the pineapple!!! I'm going to have to come back and take some pictures as well as write down which meats I recommend but overall since three of us had never been before it was a lovely experience.

This was my first time at Rodizio and I used a groupon. The service was great, we were joking around with the the people who brought the meat around the whole time. The salad bar had all the basics covered and was done really well but I mostly just ate the different meats. The servers were around frequently and always piled it on when I would ask for more. If you didnt ask for more they would usually just give you a small cut. After dinner the server recommended a perfect dessert that we both enjoyed. Since I had the groupon the price was perfect for what we got but with out it the bill would have been a little high. I will be recommending this place to my friends.

We walked in here off the street at lunchtime on a whim, not knowing what to expect. My wife and I were in town visiting my parents, and all four of us were *very* pleasantly surprised. For eighteen bucks a piece, I was in meat heaven. Don't get me wrong, the salad bar was great too (farofa and beans... yum!), the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive, and my drinks were rapidly refilled. But seriously, the concept is "sit down, and we bring you different meats until you say stop". There's a two-colored plastic tag on the table; you can flip it to Red and take a breather, and then back to Green so the culinary parade resumes. This wasn't just any meat either. I tried the beautifully cooked Top Sirloin , some kind of spicy chicken, Brazilian pork sausage, marinated pork, center-cut beef... and about a half-dozen other things that I can't remember post-meat-coma. My only regrets are that I ate earlier in the day (less room for meat), and that my dad wanted to take a picture with and hug the gaucho (now I remember why I moved out of town, thanks Dad). Since I can't in good conscience knock off points for those things, Rodizio gets my five star stamp of approval.

I went to Rodizio grill based on the reviews which were very positive. I've been to Sabor numerous times and frequently visit other Brazilian restaurants. First impression walking in: it's 7:45pm on a Friday and there were quite a few open tables. This kind of surprised me. The salad bar was not very good. Lots of very heavy salads that didn't seem that fresh and not enough fresh veggies. The appetizers consisted of the cheesy bread (very dry), fried bananas which I didn't try and what looked like 4 French fries (party of 4). Here comes the main part; the meat. It was all very boring, not very flavorful and just bland all together. I thought the meat was cooked perfect, it looked great, just didn't taste right. It wasn't the usual salty Brazilian cuisine. I tried everything they had and was just not impressed with any of the options. The service was terrible. Our waitress apologized twice for forgetting us because she "had different tables in the other room". There were many times where we were let without water or drink refills for quite some time. There were plates piled on our table for over 15 minutes and noone thought of taking them. We didn't get any lamb until we asked the manager for someone to bring it. Overall, I was very disappointed. I was really hoping we had good representation for a Brazilian restaurant in Mke as we had with Sabor, but that unfortunately is just not the case.

We've been to Rodizio Grill twice now, the first time two days after it opened for dinner, and the second time on Christmas Eve for lunch. Our experiences have improved between the two visits. Rodizio Grill occupies the space of the restaurant Sabor used to be in. The interior is mostly unchanged, which is a plus. Oftentimes, when restaurants take over an existing space, they try too hard to establish their own unique mark and end up unnecessarily redecorating to achieve an inferior effect. Rodizio maintains the tasteful, elegant atmosphere, but still feels like its own entity. The waitstaff is very attentive, and the gauchos are great. The gauchos will oftentimes introduce themselves by name, which is something I don't remember the gauchos at Sabor doing, but it's a nice personal touch. I really enjoy the greater variety of meats at Rodizio. I don't love everything, but it's a lot of fun trying all the options. I think it's really awesome that there are more than just various grilled meats - the glazed pineapple is to die for and the Parmesan-coated tomatoes are interesting. There are slightly "odd" things that I'd recommend trying, for instance the chicken hearts with lime. I don't much care for the pot roast personally, but I think it's impressive that they offer that as well. The dinner and the lunch are functionally the same, with the lunch being cheaper. However, there might be a few small differences in the fare available to each. One of the gauchos told us that the lamb is only available for dinner, and I think the fish might be as well - that, or they didn't have any on Christmas Eve. Regardless, there were still plenty of other delicious meats, so no complaints here. :) However, if you're particular about lamb, make sure you go during dinner. The lamb is very good. The only thing that I wish they would improve is their salad bar. There are a lot of options, but the quality just doesn't stand up to par next to the various meats. Sabor had an amazing salad bar, and while I'm not sure how reasonable it is to expect that caliber given the price differential, I still think some improvements could be made. During both of our visits, some of the cucumbers and tomatoes were kind of withered. Some of the bites of salad I had were bitter, and that's not from vegetables that tend to be bitter. This is personal preference, but I think the "mushroom salad" would be a lot better if the mushrooms were cooked. Finally, the salad bar was exactly the same between the two visits. I'm not sure if this was just coincidence, but one of the things we loved about Sabor was the variety. There would be some of the consistent basic items, but then some other items were different with each visit. I'm really glad that we gave Rodizio a second chance. The first time was somewhat disappointing. If not for the amazing limeade (non-frozen is better than frozen by the way), the great service and the fun atmosphere, we would not have gone back. The meat preparation was on the dry and tough side the first time, which is understandable since it was only two days after it opened, but it was so much better this most recent time. P.S. Valet parking is now $5 instead of the $8 that it was for Sabor. Yay! :) Don't forget to tip your valets though. ;P

I've been to Rodizio Grill several times and have had good experiences every time. Staff is always friendly and food is delicious. I usually get the salad bar only (personally not a big meat eater) and my family gets full Rodizio with the meats, which they love! The salad bar is so fresh and such a big variety of food. It's hard to find a good salad bar and this is so much better than your average buffet.

I would have to agree with some of the positive comments already mentioned by Sarah W....and I would respectfully disagree with her opinion of the salad bar. I thought the salad bar selection was a step-up from Sabor and probably a step down from Texas to Brazil in Schaumburg....all in all, good though. A couple things that make this place different/better than other similar restaurants (like Sabor) is the meat is tasty but not too salty. I've gone to a few Brazilian steakhouse restaurants and most seem to add too much salt....at Rodizio the meat is salted perfectly, with a salt and pepper shaker at the table for those who prefer more. Also, Rodizio adds some unique options such as the marinaded chicken hearts, and brown sugar glazed hot pineapple. Also, the all-inclusive lunch is 18.99 compared to $25(ish) at Sabor and Texas To Brazil. We'll be back and we look forward to bringing friends.

The second we walked in (Oct 30) I thought 'crap I should have dressed up more', the host gave me a look like he couldnt believe I wore jeans and came into his resturant ...but once seated I was highly impressed with the staff , the food and the ambience ! The food rocks , tons of food on the buffet , 16 different meats come to your table on a scewer (sp) and the staff slices pieces off for you. You deal with at least 10 different staff members and I was highly impressed that each and every one of them smiled and conversated with us, not one needed a attitude adjustment ...even the host warmed up and finally flashed me a smile thru the night. I bought this on groupon and Damn Dont I wish I bought two coupons!..its pricey here but well worth it if you want to impress someone and have a whole different food experience . ( and don't feel uncomfortable in jeans, most ppl were dressed in jeans)

I was very disappointed. The meat quality was very poor, it had no flavor to it. This place was nothing like the old restaurant sabor was. Just because the cost went down, doesn't mean the food quality should go with it. I do not recommend this place for anyone looking for a good meal

Food was delicious and salad bar was good. However, the meats selection for dinner seemed to be less than many other Brazillian Grills I have been to.

Better than what I was expecting. Great appetizers and salad buffet to start. After that I was overwhelmed with delicious meats and pineapple! The meats were cooked to perfection and well seasoned. I also couldn't resist the dessert selection. I had the strawberry Brazilian cream, and it was delicious! The service was decent.

First of all, I really feel this place is a 3.5, but since there in no "3.5" and they aren't quite a 4 in my mind, I will go with a "3". Now, I will explain my reasoning: Service is good - friendly and attentive. Decor is good - it is basically the same as Sabor was with a name change. Price - good for what it is, especially since most full service churrascarias are much more expensive. The lunch was $18.99 for the full service, and the dinner service is $31.99. They also have a "salad bar only" option at $12,99, which is a good deal since it does include some hot items. Food - obviously the most critical component of a review... It is good, but not outstanding. I've tried most of their meats, almost all of their sides, and about half the items on the salad bar. Nothing really stood out as being that special or memorable, but all were decent. The meats were OK, although a few were a bit overcooked. My favorite Brazilian cut is Picanha, and it was OK here again, but I've had much better. If the Picanha was better, I would likely have given them a 4. Bottom line - OK food and decent price with good service - a 3.5 in my mind. They could move up to a 4 easily, but they'll have to up their game a bit to get it from me.

Rodizio is a great place if you're looking to go on a date that's a little out of the box, or you have a special occasion planned. The pricing is high, and if you don't plan on eating a lot of the meats, it may not be worth it. The salad bar and sangria were worth the trip themselves. Rodizio is a good place to go if you have a lot of time, it took us a solid 2 and a half hours to get through drinks, salad and all of the meats.

Went here for my husband's birthday as he has been to Sabor before. Cuts of meat were pretty plain. I feel I could get better meat at Applebees or Ruby Tuesdays. Everything was average. I would have preferred to just have gone to a nice steakhouse for a nice prime steak for the $. Will definitely not go back. For some reason our party thought dessert was included in the meal as the server brought a tray with a bunch of desserts on it. We decided to try each one and when we got the bill, we realized they were not included LOL!

Let's get this out of the way first -- any differences between Rodizio Grill and Sabor pale in comparison to their similarities. The layout is the same. I think the furniture is the same. The food is very largely the same. They ditched the huge copper decorative plates, but that's about it. If you think you can tell the difference between naturally and artificially carbonated water, Morton and store brand salt, Advil and generic ibuprofen, and a 100 vs 101 MPH fastball, you might see a big difference. Oh, and you should probably only listen to music on vinyl. I died a little bit the day Sabor abruptly closed. I was still grieving when I heard about Rodizio Grill opening. I was skeptical, doubting that it would be as good. The first time I went, it was fairly mediocre. Since it was the first week they were open, I gave them a pass. I've been back several times since then and it has been great. I find the salad bar to be very similar to Sabor. If you had particular favorite dishes, I guess they might not be there. My only purpose for the salad bar is to get little tastes of 10 or so different dishes and prepare me for the meat. If you're going just for the salad bar, I could understand if you liked Sabor better. Their salad bar was legendary. I don't notice much of a difference with Rodizio Grill, but that may be because I'm not there for salads. Again, the similarities outweigh any differences. At Sabor, I liked the lunch special with 3 cuts of meat. That's not an option at Rodizio Grill, but the full rodizio (unlimited meat) is so cheap it doesn't matter. The meat quality is also similar to Sabor. Rodizio Grill uses a little less of Sabor's secret ingredient (psst...it was salt). I loved Sabor, but they sure did like to salt up the meat. I'm happy to add more on my own if I need it (my kidneys thank me for passing). What I like more about Rodizio Grill is the variety of meats. I like steak, but I didn't need Sabor's 10 different cuts. Rodizio Grill gives me maybe 3, but then adds numerous poultry dishes, a tasty stew, chicken hearts (which I don't have the courage to try), and grilled pineapple (which is great). Sabor had much less variety outside of the beef. Rodizio Grill still has the really good parmesan pork Sabor had and linguica. I don't get dessert because the meat orgy is already causing my stomach to compress my lungs and render me short of breath. If you liked Sabor, you'll like Rodizio Grill. If you didn't like Sabor, stay away from Rodizio Grill. It's really that simple. Anyone who sees a big difference (other than the presence or absence of a very specific dish) probably just has a refined enough palate that they really notice the value of that 20th filtration of vodka over a mere 19.

Chain "Brazilian" churrascarias are in almost every major city these days. Price ranges can be from as low as $35+ (lie Rodizio) in some locations to as high as $60+ (like Fogo de Chao) in others. It really depends on the location ( city or burbs), and the clientele the restaurant is looking to attract. Higher prices at the likes of Fogo de Chao are directly reflective of the quality ,variety of choices, and freshness of the foods being offered. Chains like Chama Gaucho , Texas de Brazil, and Rodizio offer a similar experience, but the quality of the meats as well as the offerings on the salad bar are more often a few notches below the standards of Fogo. (Bottom line, you get what you pay for). I have eaten at most of the chain churrasccarias, ( and even other Rodizio's around the country) but our experience at the Milwaukee location last night was really underwhelming. Many of the selections at the salad bar were similar to the deli counter at a Pic & Save or Roundy's. Shell pasta salad, yellow potato salad, pickled beets ( from a jar), sliced compressed ham lunch meat, grated cheddar cheese & triple washed salad greens from a bag. To their credit, there were a few sliced hearts of palm. Chaffing dishes of hot food consisted of an "asopao" with absolutely no flavor whatsoever, mashed potatoes, and various other items which seemed out of place on a "salad bar". Enter the gauchos with their selection of sliced "all you can eat "red meat & poultry. Not unlike the salad bar selections, the array of skewered meats paled in comparison to most churrascarias. The Portuguese linguica sausage was bland, and the bacon wrapped turkey breast and sweet & spicy chicken breast were dry. The 3-4 cuts of beef , while cooked to a rosie medium rare, required incisors comparable to sharks teeth to chew up. The leg of lamb as well, was not juicy. So many of Yelper reviews of this place speak to the "quantity" of the food. If you are looking for lots of mediocre food, Rodizio's should be your first choice. They will deliver all the mediocrity you are seeking. However, if its "quality" food, great service , and an enjoyable ambiance I'd go elsewhere.

husband and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night. I was slightly concerned by some of the other reviews but had an excellent meal!! we love Brazilian steak houses and tend to seek them out. the $35 is more affordable than a fogo de Chao and more relaxing. I was impressed by the salad bar options...much better than what previous reviewers stated. I would agree to skip the fish though. thanks for a great dinner to celebrate our anniversary!

If you leave Rodizio hungry, that's your own fault. This is some of the best grilled meat you will ever have. They do have a large salad and side bar, and the mashed potatoes are particularly good, but honestly, save the room that those fillers take up and enjoy the endless selection of tasty meats that are continuously brought right to you. It's like living as a king.

This is an amazing concept that everyone should try at least once. To be given a little red light green light box on your table where they keep bringing you food is wonderful and I thought I was in food heaven. We had a dinner for 4 and split a few bottles of their house red wine and began the dining process. I loved sitting down and how we were greeted by our initial waitress. She was very enthusiastic and happy to tell us about the process. She pointed us in the direction of the salad bar which was pretty large, with tons of filling, starchy options before the meat comes out. Everything there was pretty delicious but again, strategically filling. Once we returned to our seats to get ready for the "show" we began to notice 7-10 gentleman walking around with large skewers of meat. All different types. One even had grilled pineapple. The options were fantastic. My first criticism was that when the "gauchos" as I believe they were called came around with the meat they cut off only slivers, samples of what was presented. I quickly ate it, enjoyed it, and looked at an empty plate in front of me. And this routine continued all evening. The gauchos were spread out in order to stop at all the tables, so maybe I could have waited for each to come by with a sample of meat before devouring it, however I was hungry and anxious. I feel the best options were the ham, the chicken, and some type of brisket they had. Some of the other meat tastes dry and old as it had been sitting a long time. The group i was with had a great time and our bill for 4 totaled 250. Not terrible for eating endless meat all evening however after a one time experience I don't think I would do this one again. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't tried it before. Come hungry.

Received a groupon for two full meals and a bottle of wine at Rodizio. Got there at 5pm on a Sunday. Street parking found one block away. They will validate parking for a specific lot nearby. We were greeted and seated promptly. The waitress was nice but didn't explain our options very well. Salad bar is okay. They state they are 90% gluten free on their menu but the salad bar didn't have too many gf options. Some of the stuff looked like it had been recycled from the day before or not refreshed from the brunch buffet. The warm items were not hot. They were just barely warm. The gauchos that brought the meat around were very slow. The meats were delicious. Serving sizes were very small. There was just way too much time in between them. Also, they served larger tables before serving tables of two. I'm not sure why. By the time they got to us, there was no meat left and they promised to come back but never did. Very disappointing. We won't be going back again. If you get a good deal on a groupon it might be worth a try if you haven't tried a Brazilian steak house before. Otherwise I'd skip it. Not worth the price.

my husband and i were in town for our anniversary, so we decided to go downtown milwaukee and have rodizio for dinner. at the end of the day, i've been ruined. ruined by the greatest, meatiest, most delicious churrascaria out there...fogo de chao. yes, rodizio is cheaper. but you get what you pay for. the salad bar is subpar at best, the meat selection was small, and the service was a little weird (i saw one server almost hit a customer in the face with his knife). our actual waiter was attentive and helpful, but some of the meat servers were downright grumpy! the silver lining: the grilled pineapple. was it worth the $35 price tag for just that? maybe not, but my pregnant self sure loved it! i probably won't be returning to rodizio, unfortunately.

If I could I'd probably give 3.5 stars to Rodizio. I had eaten at Sabor several times and loved it, so comparisons were inevitable. First, I understand they are a lower price point than Sabor, so I'm ok with some downgrades in quality and/or selection. Keep in mind, I've never eaten one bite of meat at either place as it's always been the Lunch Salad Spectacular for me. Here's how it went: Things Rodizio does better than Sabor: *Prices *Everything on the salad bar at least had a name, so I had some idea of what I was eating. *Polenta sticks with dusted parmesan were dee-licous *More "hot" items available than Sabor including roasted veg, beef stew and collard greens *Service was better for me today than I'd ever had at Sabor Things that were not better: *The fried bananas. If I had never had Sabor's version, I'd probably be cool with these but can we PLEEZ go back to the carmel-y Bananas Foster version? *The fruit salad today was kind of sad. *Sabor's cheesy bread puffs were way, way better. I guess that's kind of a good thing as I wasn't too tempted to eat 10,000 of them Overall, I tried a few tablespoons of 8-10 different salads and liked them all. Our server was nice and very attentive and the price was fair. The interior is still lovely. Not sure if the gauchos still dress like pirates as we didn't see any (slow lunch day - I think no one was eating meat)

This place is a very affordable Brazilian steakhouse. They have a great variety of cuts and an extensive buffet. This place is not top notch but it is definitely worth your money. Make sure to pace yourself though... The cuts come in FAST but do not feel the need to grab everything immediately as the waiters will come back again with the same cuts later if you missed the first round. I refused to turn away any food that came my way and I was full after a quick 10min of strenuous face stuffing.

Must have been a rough night for the staff. 30 min delay from reservation, but more importantly: no meat was seen for 35 minutes after we were seated, and had grazed the salad. Seemed like many other tables had a similar issue. A few select staff seemed apologetic, but the manager was not to be seen or found.

Went with pretty high hopes for this place honestly, thought it'd be similar to Sabor. But absolutely not. I suppose it was service that left the biggest negative impression, but the bar offerings also left much to be desired.

Went for a date night during downtown dining week and can't wait to go back. Fun experience, great selection on the salad and sides bar, and 16 different delicious meats. I especially enjoyed the cauliflower bacon soup, the top sirloin, and the grilled pineapple. I'm excited to go back but I'm hoping our server will be more attentive on refills. It's easy and not intrusive to walk past with a smile just to see if the glasses are empty or not. At one point, both water and soda glass were empty while I was eating... doesn't warrant downgrading the review but if it is consistent, I'll come back to edit to 4 stars.

Had dinner there with a work colleague on a Monday night. It was not too crowded and they seated us right away. From there it was all down hill. The server was not attentive for any part of the meal and with the exception of one "gaucho" the service was way slow. I thought that the food quality particularly for the price was not good. Oddly enough the manager approached us twice and both times I indicated that service was slow. He assured us it would improve but that did not happen We had gotten a coupon from a local hotel that gave us two complementary drinks. When the bill came only one was removed. The server told us she made a mistake and could only remove one. She should have told us that earlier. Save your money and go to Texas de.... Or Fogo.....

I went to Rodizio Grille to take advantage of downtown dining week prices! With that said, I would have paid full price to eat here for dinner, having paid Sabor pricing in the past, Rodizio's pricing seems like a bargain. The restaurant looks and feels pretty much the same - I think the meats are good, my favorite being the prime rib, but that only came once. The best item happened to be meatless, the rotisserie pineapple...omg so good you eat the whole thing. Slightly less good than sabor, but I probably shouldn't make that comparison? I'd go back but it's definitely a once a year type of place.

Went to rodizio for a celebration dinner. Luckily we went on Milwaukee's downtown dining restaurant week so it was a bit cheaper. The place is pretty spendy. None of us ordered drinks. The wait staff is friendly helpful and quick. The salad bar was a bit disappointing. They had pre-made pasta salads, some bagged greens and hot food looked very canned. I would like to have seen a lot more fresh vegetables and fruit. The good part was the meat! They brought it around to the tables, all kinds from chicken, pork, turkey, beef, and pineapple. That is the restaurants saving grace is everything is fresh from the rotisserie and still dripping juice when they cut it. I would come back if it was a special dinner again, but it was not overly memorable.

I have been wanting to try a Brazilian style steak house and Rodizio fits the bill. We went on a very quiet Monday evening, but were treated very well. The salad bar not the best term, for it conjures up less than tasty images for me. In addition to a wide variety of creative salads (and the normal salad bar items), there are dinner sides, soup, beans, etc that can accompany one's meal. The meats keep coming, in small amounts, so that one can taste everything (16 varieties of beef, pork, chicken and fish). I didn't have anything that was not done just right and was very good. Since going, we have several other couples who want to join us for a night at Rodizio Grill.

Gave this place another chance for dinner tonight..Not even a good restaurant, let alone a churrascaria..To those whi are impressed with this, go to Chicagoland and see how it's supposed to be done..Rodizio is motly and amateurish.

Pretty good deal for lunch ($20). I've had a good amount of Brazilian food before but never really experienced the whole Brazilian steakhouse set up where they bring out the meat to you and slice it. So I was pretty excited to stuff my face with as many different assortments of meat as possible. As a plus, you also get unlimited access to the salad bar, which had a pretty nice selection. In particular I really like the coconut pineapple slaw and the strawberry salad. The meat came out at a pretty rapid pace, to the point where I had a backup of 2-3 pieces on my plate. But the restaurant was pretty empty at the time so I wouldn't expect any less. Some of my favorites were: -Sweet and Spicy Chicken - Tasted like buffalo chicken, but more subtle, and the chicken was cooked PERFECTLY. Perfectly tender without the slightest hint of toughness or overcooking. -Top Sirloin - The beef that's skewered in those U shapes. Slightly over salty, but the outside is super crispy and the more inner cuts are cooked a nice rare - medium rare. -Flat Iron Steak - Also cooked nicely with a good amount of salt. But really if it's your first time you should try a little bit of everything!

Can't eat here w/out comparing to it's previous occupant, Sabor... my husband who's the meaty one disagrees with me but I prefer Sabor. He prefers the selection of more meats that Rodizio offers. But for me I feel it's a little more generic where Sabor had better handcrafted desserts, unique salad bar items and craft cocktails. Even the complimentary sides not as special as Sabor's... tear, cheese buns I miss you. The salads seem to have a bigger selection but not as many interesting ones for true vegetarians. Really only 1 was stand out where most of them at Sabor were. Our dessert, frozen in the middle. :(

Rodizio is such a fun place to eat! The gauchos are plentiful and I have never had an issue with lack of choices or the long wait between meats. Yes the portions served are small. Its supposed to be! Its part of the experience to try many, many different options. My favorite was the top sirloin. It was seasoned to perfection. Don't forget to try the grilled pineapple as well!

They have a great salad bar option if you don't want to spend a lot of money on the rodizio. The salad bar has a wide selection of vegetables and meats as well as pasta. I took a star away only because their bathroom wasn't clean. But the food and decor were top notch.

The salad bar is awesome, would be worth it to just come for the salad bar however, the meat is awesome too! Meat def has a Wisconsin twist to it, has a few cheese and bacon covered cuts. The sausage and chicken hearts were both so delicious. The meat was definitely more well done, though, and having had real "asados" in South America, I can tell you that's not how it's supposed to be done. Having said that, for being in Wisconsin this place is great and def worth trying. If you're willing to make the trip, fogo de chao in Chicago is definitely better, but it's awesome that we have this restaurant choice in Milwaukee.

Meat, meat and more meat! Cows, pigs, chickens, if it's made of meat then they cook it and serve it here. The "experts" will tell you to skip the salad bar to save room for the great stuff that the gauchos bring, but you probably won't be able to do it. Fresh mozzarella balls, roasted beets, asparagus, fresh salads and so much more, it all looks great. So I'll tell you instead - go easy on the salad bar. A few small tastes and you'll still have room. (They also do *just* the salad bar and not the meat fest and I can see how someone might be able to do that.) When you're ready, flip the little table thing from RED to GREEN and be ready. These guys are like reverse piranhas, adding meat to your bones rather than stripping it away. Don't feel obligated if it's something that you're not interested in, but absolutely do be ready to say "Yes, please" often. I really enjoyed the roasted pineapple and kept it on my plate for when the ham came along. Yum. So much sliced beef, and available in all the usual cooking ranges. It was rare for me (oh, so bloody!) up to well done for the folks that like their meat cooked through and through. For $32.99 each, it's a good amount of money but well worth it for good service and a great tasting meal. Sure, you could go to a steak place and get something for that much, but it wouldn't give you the choices that you have here. Probably not an ideal selection for a date. Reasonable beer selection. I enjoyed a Uruguayan pilsner, something I'd never had before. Yes, I would be back.

My story begins with a phone call. Me: "Hello I'd like to make a reservation for next Tuesday. I'm excited to try the wild game specials you have this month." RG: "Oh, we have supply issues so we only have that on Wednesdays." Me: "Really? You advertised it for all of April and it's only the 7th. Well let me see if Wednesday works for my friend. I'll call you back." (friend was good with Wednesday) Me: "Hello, I'd like to make a reservation for next Wednesday for the wild game night." RG: "Um. I don't think we're offering that anymore." Me: "But I just called 2 minutes ago and the guy told me only Wednesdays due to supply issues." RG: "Can you hold?"... (2 minutes later).."Sir, I confirmed we don't offer the wild game anymore. The store was sold to corporate and we can't get it supplied. We may try again in October." Me: "That's unbelievable. Let's go with Tuesday night for the reservation then." So, my friend and I arrive at 6:00 and are surprised at there is only one other table with customers. Our server, Santana, comes over to deliver the appetizers of small cheese biscuits, fried banana pieces that looked like beat-up mini donuts with powdered sugar on them, and polenta sticks. She also took our drink order. The cheese biscuits were ok, nothing great. The plantains were not good at all. The polenta sticks were actually crispy and quite good. Ok, so one out of three. The server explained how everything worked. The salad bar has cold and hot items. The cold items are various salads that looked only slightly better than the deli case at Metro Market. I put a teaspoon size portion of 10 different items on my plate (don't want to get full on salad). The best tasting was the pineapple salad. The other salads were good but underwhelming. The hot items included white rice which had an instant rice texture and bland flavor, "black bean stew" or as most people call it "black beans," and something called farofa which is described as yucca flour that is typically sprinkled over the rice and black beans. Ok, I'll play along. I liked the black beans. I did not like the rice. Mixing the rice and beans together was ok. Adding the farofa to the rice and beans did nothing for me but add a texture that I prefer not to have in rice and beans. Next up on the hot bar was a soup that didn't interest me, sautéed collard greens which lacked flavor and lacked the bacon that was described, penne pasta with a variation of creamy tomato-based sauce, also lacking a depth of flavor, creamy mashed potatoes which I really liked and beef stroganoff which had a sauce that was a shade of red instead of brown. The beef stroganoff also had a good flavor, so I enjoyed a small portion of it with the mashed potatoes. Now we're at our table with empty dirty plates. We flipped our wooden token over to green to let the gauchos know we are ready for meat. While we dined on the salad bar items, we noticed that there was only one, maybe two, gauchos. By this time, more tables were full of guests. Santana was also the only waitress. O We realize it will be a long night with long waits for meat and it makes us sad. Our table is empty because we wanted room for meat and now we have nothing. Santana told us that there were 16 meats tonight and the seafood item was swordfish. Our first 2 or 3 cuts of meat were good. Then the garlic steak arrived. It was an abomination. The meat was very difficult to cut and impossible to chew. I forgot my manners and spit it out on a plate for fear of choking to death. Turkey wrapped in bacon arrived. Yay! The turkey was dry. Boo! Chicken arrived. My friend asked the gaucho is it was white meat or dark meat. The gaucho said "yea, it's chicken (in his accent)." My friend said "yes, it is chicken but is it white meat or dark meat. I only eat white meat." Gaucho replied "yea, its chicken." My friend gave up. Took the chicken, took a bite, it was dark meat." The other gaucho was Ethan. We grew tired of waiting for certain items we saw on the menu online, so we just asked for them. Ethan's next three trips to our table were with each of those three items. Ethan was our hero! Two of those items included ham and the tender cut steak dubbed "the most tender and flavorful of all." Ethan was the only part of dinner that deserved 5 stars. He was great! Anyway, the tender cut was very good, but the ham was the best tasting meat we had all night! The HAM!!! It was delicious! This was a Brazilian STEAK house and the HAM was the best tasting meat! Come on! Grilled pineapple was up there, too. BTW, the seafood item was Swai, not swordfish. It's similar to eating catfish, but NOT swordfish! We only saw 12 of the 16 items. Sabor had better meats, better salad bar items, lots of gauchos all over you with many options, bussers clearing dirty plates and bringing clean plates in seconds, WAY better service. It cost more but was worth it. You left Sabor stuffed! I probably won't go back to the No-dizio Grill.

Its no Sabor. Salad bar was okay, not great. Meat was a little salty but okay. Variety was lacking. Had a groupon so we tried it. Won't go back. There's a lot to eat but its not a lot of good stuff to eat its a lot of average stuff. I'm a little sideways though since I've been to Brazil, a lot (married one). So I've had great black beans and rice from small tiny rest-stop type of places and they were better. The Mocuqea was really bad, everything was boiled to toughness that I hadn't experienced since I was 4 and ate a rubber eraser on a dare. I wouldn't pay full price for the experience again, and probably wouldn't buy the groupon actually. service was good though...they did a nice job with that...so you got that going for you which is nice.

Went here a few months ago a really enjoyed it. How can you not love food coming at you from every direction?! There were so many options from chicken hearts to fish to beef. I'm a red meat person so I mostly stuck to the beef. My absolute favorite was the garlic steak. Make sure you get this! And take more than one piece when it comes to you because it's soooo good! The pineapple was also delicious and refreshing between the skewers of meat. The salad bar was just okay, nothing to get too excited about. The service was great, and don't be afraid to request something from the servers. They were very prompt about bringing out anything out that we asked for. And once again, don't forget to try the garlic steak! :)

I've been to Sabor before it closed and now I've tried the Rodizio Grill. The price is less than Sabor for the full "meaty" experience. The salad bar has more variety. The meat parade includes grilled pineapple and parmesan tomatoes. I paired these two with ham and beef. I tried a marinated chicken heart which tasted like a rubbery smoked oyster. The meat options weren't overly salted like other reviewers have noted. CONCLUSION: Rodizio Grill took everything Sabor did wrong (and failed) and improved them. What's left is a great dining option in downtown Milwaukee. VALET: Finding parking here in this area can be frustrating BUT the Rodizio Grill valet is only $5 where as I paid $8 for a parking garage.

Plenty of room for improvement. The place is very nice, they have excellent customer service and the decor is beautiful. I was a little disappointed with the meat because it was a little rough and bland. They definitely have room for improvement here. This was a really good experience and I will come back. I am a firm believer in consistency. I hope If and when I go back the food will be a bit better. I will keep you posted.

MEAT! Lots of it! We took my dad here for his birthday because he is a badge wearing carnivore and thoroughly had a good time. For a Saturday night, the place was reasonably busy but not so crazy that we had to wait for a table. The fact that you can make a reservation online is a nice addition. We were greeted by very pleasant and efficient staff. Our waiter Brad was SO nice and very accommodating. He made us feel right at home. Having been to some other Brazilian grills, I think that the food here was good, not the best and that's really the only reason I'm taking off a star. Some of the cut of meat were delicious, but i found the chicken to be a little boring and the fish and some cuts of pork/beef to be too salty. The salad bar wasn't huge but definitely very delicious. Overall a very pleasant experience and prices extremely reasonable for a Brazilian steakhouse!

I've been here twice. The food is great. I enjoyed it while it was Sabor more. They were out of the linguica both times. Pretty disappointing. Owners/management: please, please invest in some better chair coverings. When I pull out a chair to sit, I don't want to have to try every other chair at the table and maybe the next to find one that isn't stained with greasy meat. Some even had bits of food still on them.

This place is a disgrace from all levels. The meets are horrible, you almost need to beg for someone to come, the buffet seems to have been there all week. They should be ashamed to call this a Brazilian steakhouse. Wait till Fogo de Chao opens in town! This place won't last a week. Till then, I guess the poor people from Milwaukee won't have a choice. Although I would rather drive to Chicago to eat at a descent Brazilian place than coming here again.

Wanting to try a new restaurant for a birthday we made a reservation for 5 on a Saturday night. We pull up to the valet at 8:45 - the side walk was not shoveled. It hadn't snowed in 2 plus days- clean up your sidewalk. Walk inside (again this was Saturday night) the place was like a ghost town. There were maybe 5 other tables - this was clearly a bad sign of what was to come. We all order the $36 Full Rodizio and a round of drinks. Drinks take forever. Appetizers were mediocre at best. Salad bar looks decent - if it would have been fresh. The food had clearly been sitting out all night. Meat comes out - very fatty and extremely hard to even chew. We saw maybe 6 or 7 different meats. None of which were any good. Clearly all disappointed we get the check. $275 for dinner plus tip for 5 people for awful food. And the WORST part.....3 out of the 5 of us got a mild case of food poisioning. Not a happy birthday spent in the bathroom for the following 24hrs.

As a Brazilian native, and gaucha, (from the state where churrasco is from), I am a little disappointed. I used to be a Sabor client, but Rodizio is not the greatest! I brought my coworkers there for dinner, 2 Brazilians who are home sick, and 2 Americans who have never been to a Brazilian steak house before, and both Americans like it, but us 3 Brazilians know that it has NO comparison to a REAL rodizio. There was only 1 waitress, so the service was very slow and I have to keep asking the gauchos, (the guys who brought the meat), to bring us what we needed (drinks, etc...). The gauchos also didn't bring meat too often, and there was not a good variety of meat!!! They told us 16 types of meat...I saw maybe 7! Disappointing!!! Also, the guaraná was a cheap brand and barely tasted like the real thing, they gave us portions of 4 even though we had 5 people on the table for the appetizers, and the feijoada (beans) had more sausage inside that actual black beans. The desserts were very good, and also the caipirinhas. Overall, it was ok. I am not sure if I would go back again though. If I am home sick, Fogo de Chão in Chicago is worth the drive!!!

This restaurant is simply amazing, it's actually replaced all other restaurants and grocery stores as essentially my only source of nutrition. Here's why it's amazing: Service: the staff is quite friendly, attentive, and pleasant, and willing to address additional concerns. The atmosphere is nice, rarely crowded except on special days or Friday and Saturday nights during peak hours. Food: 22.99 for lunch sounds expensive for one meal, but here's the thing: you are getting an infinite amount of the most delicious cuts of chicken, pork, and beef you have ever had in your life. Grilled to perfection and cut expertly by the gauchos so as to give you the best combination of crispiness and tenderness (or to your liking). The meat alone makes the experience worth it, and while I have become particularly adept at consuming large amounts of meat (enough to satisfy me for about 2 days), even my novice friends rarely need to eat again the rest of the day, meaning that you are basically paying 22.99 for three delicious meals. Aside from the meat, the salad bar is great, probably the best I have been to at a Brazilian steakhouse. They have 4 or 5 interesting different salad types (chicken salad, kale salad, roasted coconut, etc), of course the traditional feijoada (beans), farofa (yucca root), rice, and roasted garlic, and finally cold meats, cheeses, and fruit and vegetables (they also recently added beef stew to the salad bar, which is quite delicious). Finally, the appetizers are all fantastic but quite simple: the classic cheese bread, fried bananas, and polenta (the bananas are my favorite, as the staff here well know). Cost: I've already somewhat mentioned the cost, but just to repeat, if you are thinking of this as just one meal, you are thinking of it the wrong way. A meal here, if you prepare properly, is essentially worth at least three meals, all of which are filling, varied, nutritious, and high-quality. Strictly speaking, the single most effective cost-experience ratio is the lunch salad bar option on weekends at merely 12.99, but then the lunch option on weekends is the best deal by far if you make the most of the meat. The dinner adds a few meats which are no doubt amazing (such as alcatra (top sirloin variation), fish, and cordeiro (lamb, one of my favorite meats here), but unless money is not a concern I'd say it's not quite worth it compared to the lunch. The exception is if you come with a friend or significant other on Thursday evenings, and then you can get dinner for two with wine for $59 (i.e. $30 apiece), which I think is very reasonable. I lament that this place is not open for lunch during weekdays, as I would certainly come multiple times a week for that. Still, with the salad bar option during the week at 18.99 I can easily justify eating here 2-3 times a week for a satisfying and delicious experience. p.s For those comparing this place to Fogo de Chao, just a couple points on this (I think I am in a good position to make the comparison, since I have been to Fogo in Chicago, San Diego, Las Vegas, and LA all multiple times). Fogo is simply different. It might be argued that the meat is a bit better at Fogo, but overall I think it's just a wider and fancier selection (which is reflected in the price). The service is indeed better at Fogo, but then Fogo has some of the best service I have ever seen at a steakhouse. I think Rodizio's atmosphere is a bit more casual, and this is reflected in the service, which is not to say the service is poor, it's just different. Finally, Rodizio is superior in its salad bar (its breadth) and its inclusion of roasted pineapple in the meat rotation (one of the most popular items). When you consider these points and then factor in the significantly lower cost, it's not at all clear that Fogo is superior overall, just that they can't exactly be compared. I will say that for the price, Rodizio is better/more worthwhile (i.e. Fogo's lunch is not worth $10-15 than Rodizio's).

The Brazilian Steakhouse concept somewhat eludes me, so bear that in mind. I have also eaten at the Texas de Brazil chain, which had a much larger salad bar and dinner tab as well. I met friends there on Labor Day and understand that they had some sort of holiday special, which was less than the normal price. The salad bar was not very large, but the offerings appeared fresh, but not very imaginative but tasty. The meat offering were more varied than I recall at the other place, but some of them were not available that night. I found both restaurant's (Texas de Brazil and Rodizio) meats to be overly tenderized/seasoned, which is what turned me off from the concept in the first place. Some of the meat offerings were decent, others so rare that they were cold in center and others very salty. The benefit of the roaming gauchos is that if you don't like something, they will return with another offering. Others said that the service was inattentive; I didn't see that though. Both the waiter and the gauchos returned frequently and if you wanted larger potions than offered, they were happy to provide. We sat for several hours and casually dined, which I think is more of the concept, rather than gorging on meat for 45 minutes and then heading for the door. The plantains were ok and the cheesy balls hard to describe and weird. I would never choose to dine at a Brazilian Steakhouse, but would have no problem returning to one, or Rodizio if my friends wanted to.

Where to begin I don't know very disappointed. We had reservation for 6:30 to celebrate my birthday which was stated in the reservation. We were shown to our table and got situated our server Geutzie (I think that's the spelling) came by our table and you could barely hear what she was saying. I chalked it up to exhaustion or maybe she's tired, eventually we decide on which option we wanted. We got out salads and sat down we waited 10-15min before the meat cake around which took pretty long honestly, either way the food was delicious which is why they got 2 stars. The bbq beans were cold and so was the corn, I was starting to get disappointed in this establishment. Our server cake by 1 from the time we gave our decision, someone else fill our glasses with water 2. Eventually she came back to take my 2nd drink which was pretty delicious and good I got the passion fruit martini Here is where the issue happened, we made reservation for my birthday and stated so when it was done. We decided that we had our full of meat and I wanted dessert because I am indulge it's my birthday. We flag down our server I ask for the creme Brûlée to which she stated I think we are out but let me check. She comes back to the table next to us and offer them some sort of dessert with. Candle I'm guessing they were celebrating a birthday as well Still waiting ......... Nope still waiting ....,,,... About 10min later she comes and say that they have only 1 creme brûlée left. I'm like oh great I will take that thank you, she says okay we continue to talk and waiting ...... Waiting........, Nope we are still waiting ..... Another 10min she's walking by our table then stops and says I'm sorry they didn't have it. WHAT !!!!!!!! Can we just get the check please And we walked out and left, I wanted to try this restaurant since restaurant week. But very disappointed I could have went to mos steak or five o'clock for better service based on what type of reservation you make. And by the way why couldn't I have gotten my dessert like the table next to us Geutzie However the table next to us was surprise when they got the dessert, did you happen to give the dessert for the birthday celebration to the wrong table Geutzie ??? That's even worse

The price is lower than the competition ($34.99) and now I know why: their strategy is to serve you less meat. Let me explain. They don't actually limit how much you're eating, they take a different approach. They just take longer between one and the next one. So after a while, you're feeling half-full and extremely bored of waiting and want to leave the place. I don't know if there's a Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil in Milwaukee, but if there's one, pay the extra money and go there. You'll have a better experience!

For $35 you get a LOT of food. They have a veggie only salad bar for about $18. Speaking of ... I had no idea this place would have a salad bar, buffet style piece to the experience. It had various interesting cold options, such as my favorite: kale salad with sunflower seeds an dried cranberries. Also available were cheeses, Caprese salad, a beer soup (which I did not like - the flavor or the gritty texture), a pasta I was sure to stay away from and several more. As your sitting there eating all of the salads trying not to fill up (and also because they already brought polenta fried sticks, warm bananas, and cheesey, doughey, gooey, bready things that you ate) you remember all of the meat you came to try... Restraint. And you wait for meat. Finally the first meat shows up, all on skewers. Chicken bores me like crazy so I skipped those. A few pork dishes (one ham) several beef dishes, a chicken heart (that part of the chicken I did not skip as that's opposite of boring!), turkey, sausage, pineapple and even one fish. I suppose my favorite was the top sirloin that came out medium and medium rare depending on the piece. Some of the other meats showed up medium well to well and that's just gross to me, so those I didn't like. The fish was just almost inedible - so flavorless and completely mushy. The sausage was one bite worthy and tasted like salted grease. I tried the Orange turkey but it was so much salt - might've been the way he cut me the end slice which had all of the seasoning. The ham was good. The chicken hearts were better with the lime juice on it (limes accompany them on a separate skewer). The pineapple was a nice touch but with the thin slices they shave off, the appeal of the grill is soon gone unless you get an early slice. $35 isn't a lot for all of the meats. How are they making all of this gluttony work on that budget? In the end, I can see this being a fun experience for people. So go ahead and try it for yourself. But for me it came down to this: would I want one perfect plate of food for $35 or lots of average and below average smaller plates of food for $35? I choose the perfect plate of food for $35. So Rodizio isn't so much for me but I think it's cool there's a Brazilian steakhouse in Mke. I'm probably a one and done as I'd choose to spend my money at a smaller, unique, stellar meal restaurant in Mke - and we have lots of excellent options these days.

I am comparing this place to what I am use to in Schaumburg, Texas De Brazil and it does not measure up. The price difference was way lower here than Texas and I know why.. They dont have Grana Padano cheese or fresh mozzarella, no shrimp dishes no bacon on salad bar. The meats were standard minus leg of lamb, but the salad bar was lacking. Not enough choices. The chimichurri sauce was very disappointing no flavour. The staff was nice and grilled pineapple was amazing! It's my fault to compare, but in terms of pricing for quality I think it is fair.

Went there for the first time this past sat with some friends in from out of town. John was our server and he is absolutely the BEST server we have ever had. He was very fun, upbeat, on top of excellent service and even gave us a hug when we left. Food was nothing short of amazing. We will definitely be back with more friends. Awesome atmosphere, amazing food and outstanding service!!!!! You won't be disappointed.

Visited for Downtown Dining - my first experience here! I'm not a huge carnivore, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed some of the meats, especially the sweet and spicy chicken (yum). Our table found we enjoyed most of the chicken dishes more than the red meats - hm. The salad bar was a nice add, and you're able to visit that as much as you'd like to accompany your meat selections. There's an excellent variety of both fruit and veggie salads as well as some hot sides - when we visited, there were some potatoes, rice, a pasta dish, etc. For $25, and with good company and friendly service, I was pretty pleased overall. However, this wouldn't be an all-the-time spot for me. A great place for any meat-lover in your life!

This is just as nice as Sabor and other Brazilian Steak Houses that I have experienced! You choose from a wide selection of well-prepared meats and a plentiful, well-stocked salad bar. The staff is efficient and attentive. The drinks are good and the pricing is reasonable.

Wow. This place is awesome no matter what city you're in. The people are classy the place looks beautiful and the location is prime. Only knock I have on the place is the swarm of gnats flying out the urinal as I was doing my business... But, I don't eat in the bathroom so 5 stars all the way! We were treated like royalty from the Gauchos to our wonderful waitress Alyssa (hope that's how you spell it). Hope this place thrives. I've been to many joints like this, with top notch food, but so so service. This place had both.

I really wanted to love Rodizio's but I was quite disappointed. :( Highlights: Our waitress was attentive and very sweet, the servers were around a lot and my sangria was good. Lastly, the salad bar was fresh. Lowlights: The salad bar had an extremely limited selection and most of the offerings were cold...even the mashed potatoes were cold. Yuck! The meat was really salty and of mediocre quality. The chicken was down right cheap tasting. In conclusion, we will never eat here again. The quality is terrible for the price you pay. If you want Brazilian, stick with Texas de or Fogo de.

If you like fully cooked meats this place is not for you. It is expensive but worth the money if you come on an empty stomach. The salad bar has an alright selection of foods. The meat came at a reasonable pace. The only downside is there is not a lot of parking near by.

I really wanted to like this place more. But after three visits I've seen a few patterns, patterns that are not great. I'll get to the service later, but for now the food. The serve yourself bar is very much average chain food. So many pasta blends ladened with mayo that you know came from a three gallon jar. Actually the salads themselves lack so much imagination those could have come from a jar (or a can). If you come in for lunch, you'll see yesterday's leftover salads with their now darkened and crunchy pasta noodles, piled on top of today's "fresh ones". And the "hot" food on the bar fare no better than the sad salads. The warmers are lukewarm at best and vegetables are soggy, and the rice is mushy. Beware if you go for Sunday Brunch, the Rodizio version bears no resemblance to what true Milwaukeeans call brunch. One of the warmers contains sausage, what looks like powder scrambled eggs (I could not bare the thought of tasting them to confirm) and some rather good looking bacon. Don't blink though, because that's your brunch folks. That one warmer, with three dishes. The rest is the same "Old Country Buffet" but not as fresh' style buffet. There was a bit of salvation on all three trips and I wish I could say it was the meat course. The meat is fine, spicy chicken breasts and bacon parmesan coated pork loin were done well. And I can never say no to the roasted pineapple. But for me the salvation is the appetizers, and the bloody marys, quite to my surprise. I'm a big bloody fan and have tasted many all over town, and the Rodizio house mix is pretty darn good. The perfect balance of worcestershire, horseradish and celery salt compliment the well balanced thickness of the mix. And the skewer of garnish (see my photo) is a meal in itself, although all items were plucked from the cold bar. Still the drink was an oasis, and earns one full star. As is the appetizers that start the meal, which earn the only other star I can give. Parmesan coated polenta sticks are fried to perfection. Soft and fluffy Pao de Quejo (Brazilian Cheese Bread) is fresh and satisfying. And banana poppers flavored with a pinch of cinnamon and the lightest dusting of powder sugar will melt in your mouth. The yang to that yin is a very obviously inexperienced and under-staffed group of servers that seem to be hustling everywhere except to your table. Even with the bright spots, the chain food feel and the spotty service make the price tag way to high for what you actually get. A coupon (they send them from time to time) could make it worth the trip, as long as your expectations remain average.

Was not aware we had a Brazilian Restaurant in Milwaukee. Boy I am glad we found this. Having being spoilt in Brazil and Texas with awesome Brazilian food, Rodizio is right there with them. An excellent salad bar, and superb cuts of meat. Their pineapple was superb!! Great service, ambiance and wine cellar make for a terrific meal!

Totally agree with Barbara from menomonee falls. I went here around my bday June 2nd. It was a Sunday night so I was thinking that might have been the issue. The selection of meat just wasn't there and the gauchos were no where to be found. Sabor was better. But if you want a REAL Brazilian steakhouse definitely goto fogo in Chicago

My husband and I went to Rodizio Grill with high expectations. For $36 per person for the "Full Rodizio" (meat and salad bar), I think that is fair. The servers were all super nice but the food was incredibly disappointing. We started out with the appetizers...fried polenta, bananas, and some little rolls. Blah. The only thing that was decent were the little rolls. We loaded our plates at the salad bar and I honestly cannot say after tasting that there was one item that I thought was worthy of being in a restaurant, much less in one at a prime location such as Water St. The options were very Ponderosa-like and flavorless. The servers visited our table quite often with the meat selections, but when you consider the teeny-tiny slices we received, they should have! Plus, there were only a handful of people there and it was pretty early (5 pm). We were missed during one of the rounds which was surprising since it was quite empty. A couple of the meats were good such as the bacon-wrapped turkey and one of the steak options, but the rest of the meat (all of the steaks) were so rare our stomachs turned and they had no seasoning on them so were again, flavorless. We are so very sad because we really wanted to like this place. Love the concept of this restaurant but the kitchen really needs to step up their game.

I went here for brunch because I heard that they had an excellent brunch buffet. I had an interesting time. I got here round 12:30pm it wasn't packed, the hostess explained the menu choices. the appetizers weren't really my thing. I decided to try the Full Rodizio (Unlimited Appetizers, Salads & Rotisserie Grilled Meats). The highlights for me were the spinach souffle, grilled veggies, farfoa with black bean stew and rice, grilled pineapple, pork sirloin, brazilian sausage, sweet sour chicken, sauteed collard greens and pineapple coconut salad. Now to customer service, when I first got seated, I didn't get my appetizers until fifteen minutes into my meal - the busser had to find my waitress. She was really pushy 'cause I wasn't sure if I wanted the full rodizio menu she kept ASKING and ASKING - finally decided to try the meat option too but it was annoying. When it was time to pay, I was charged for two full meals - let's just say I got a free meal in the end; I'll be going back again despite the hassle.

We came here for dinner, me remembering how great Sabor was and wanting my boyfriend to experience the Brazilian steakhouse concept. The standards have since gone down. Don't get me wrong our server was great but the food paled in comparison. The salad bar variety was ok, more pedestrian than before but a lot of the items were just bland. We had the top sirloin first and it was good, when we got the one that was cooked medium rare. Unfortunately everything after that was overcooked, dried out pork loin, dried out pork sausage, boring chicken thighs, and my old favorite the Parmesan pork, was a shadow of its former self. The flavor was completely different and not in a good way. The roasted pineapple was pretty good and I liked their non-alcoholic drink options. To top the disappointment, I watched the manager go to every table around us, twice to the one on my right and ask how everything was and did not once even look our way so much as come to our table. Service like that seals the deal for me on a place I would not go back to. Too many other great options in Milwaukee, don't waste your $32.99 here!

Went here for Mother's Day on Saturday at lunchtime. I give very few 5's but this was great. Great price. Great salad bar with unique items like ceviche and tons of different salads. One of the best I've ever seen and tasted. Great service. And to me central was the meat. They brought 12 varieties of beats I found as good or better than sabor. What they also I'd better than sabor was they brought all the meats a consistent number of times. I noticed at sabor you would see the really good steak once or twice and then other meats less expensive came more often. Not at at Rodizio. Very very impressed and I eat out a lot. I wonder if reviewers on here who downgraded the salad bar saw both sides if it. It is mammoth. It's really nice daytime too the big windows give you a view outside onto water street and you can people watch. A wonderful experience. I liked sabor but I rate Rodizio maybe a half to a point higher. .

I've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before and when this one came up on Groupon, I suggested it to another couple and we both bought one. The Rodizio Grill cheerfully let us set up a reservation for Saturday night at one table, ignoring both fine print restrictions of the Groupons- way to go RG! I felt welcome already! The evening got better from there. The service staff was enthusiastically attentive and beef, chicken, pork, and lamb came at us from all sides. When we needed a respite, we inverted our octahedron to red and conversed leisurely. I enjoyed some meats more than others but all were treats. The salad bar was very good and the desserts were even better. We were in the mood for a great dinner and the Rodizio Grill didn't disappoint us.

What could be better for a bachelorette party dinner than a classy restaurant filled with tables of men, a giant unlimited salad bar, tasty drinks, and Brazilian cowboys circulating with skewers of perfectly grilled meat? (The grilled pineapple was also delicious!) Rodizio Grill did not disappoint!!

We had the worst service ever. From the moment we walked through the door. The first and only round of drinks we got we ordered from the bar. Stood there and waited nearly 10 minutes while the manager/bartender played on his phone and the register. We ordered one glass of wine and one cocktail. After being seated the food was delicious but slow coming. We ordered another round of drinks. 15 minutes later we asked again if we could get the previously ordered drinks. We then had to stop a host walking by as we didn't even have water to drink. 15 minutes later we were told "30 seconds sorry". 5 minutes later we were told the manager/bartender was on the phone and no one else was allowed to make the drinks at which we responded, forget the drinks we'll take the check. Within moments the manager came out to remove the empty glasses. After flashing a dirty look his way he offered a pathetic apology, stating with a condescending tone, he was on the phone, making it crystal clear his priority. Proceeded to immediately supply the full price check. Will NEVER return.

Most all-you-can-eats are lacking in quality, and we were hesitant to try Ridizio Grill, but after promises from our hotel concierge we wouldn't be disappointed, we gave it a try. I am so glad we did! The salad bar is what sold me; great quality and variety of delicious (even healthy!) options. My husband who regulars steakhouses in Milwaukee and Chicago gave it a pretty-good on the meaty end, but I was sold on the opportunity to try a variety of great Brazilian dishes without the guilt of disliking one after we'd paid to order it individually. Especially liked the bacon wrapped turkey, grilled pineapple, fried bananas, and the variety of delicious fresh veggie salads. Go hungry! Great service, refined atmosphere- particularly in the booth sections. Next time I'd go for just the salad bar, as the $31.99 each + wine got pricey quickly, but it was in line with the prices of many of our downtown Milwaukee favorites, without any stuffy-pretentiousness. If you can get over the stigma of an all you can eat (and this restaurant surely does with its refined atmosphere and stellar service), its a great option for all variety of diners. (Still unsure, dine at lunch for the full meaty steakhouse experience at a lower price.)

I have given this place 4 chances-I give up- it's just not very good. Service is super slow, they never have enough servers on duty so getting drinks, the check ect.. Is long and painful. The salad bar is pretty good and in fact this last time I skipped the meat and just ate salad bar items. The meat ugh- this is where things go so wrong, first of all it takes forever for them to get to your table with it. Then when they do, the steak is usually chewy and fatty, chicken undercooked and pork is dry! Also the meat server you see the most is the guy with the chicken hearts and roasted pineapple- I figure these must be the cheaper items. Desert was a dry chocolate cake. I really can't find any reason I would ever go back here, just because you can get a lot of something doesn't mean it's going to be good and I definitely don't want to waste my calories here!

A group of 10 went on Friday night for a birthday. The salad bar and meats were all excellent! Our server was very friendly. The only downside was how long it took to get drinks from the bar. We had to keep asking when drinks would be coming. The manager was wonderful and even made sure our friends birthday celebration ended on a great note! ** I do think 18% gratuity for someone to bring you drinks you need to keep asking for is frustrating.

I don't think this new version of the Brazilian steakhouse has what Sabor had. Food was so-so. Service was ok. It's missing something.
