Oh my gosh, you'll think you died and went to French Pastry Heaven on your first visit to Rocket Baby Bakery 's satellite store in Bay View! I have been interested in trying French Macarons, the delicious treat of decadent macaroon cookies sandwiched with a delicious filling. A friend who first had them in New York turned me on to them, and that set me off on a Yelp Search, uncovering them here. As I cruised through Bay View on a beautiful spring morning I stopped in for a look see and was delighted to find CHOCOLATE flavor was still in stock. It was everything I dreamed about and so much more. Light, crunchy sweet macaroon cookies with a hint of cocoa were the first thing I tasted. But oh, Rocket Baby! That decadent chocolate fudge filling! Dense, thick and rich, it was like heaven on a cloud. All I can say is mmmm...wow...I will be back!

Rocket I drive past here everyday almost. It looks closed as in not opened during the time when im out in Bay View. I decided to try it out see if it was open. Hey, it was open and filled with goodies. The selection is small, im unsure if it is the same way for the Tosa location. I ended up getting a peanut butter cookie which was de-lish. I also got a Kouign-amann. It is pronounced queen a mann. It was so good. The prices were also on point. I dont have any complaints other then the selection was small.

When at the South Shore Farmer's Market I tried the Miche bread & bought a baguette that I later devoured at home. YUM!!! I can't wait to go back & try more!

Driving past this place on a daily basis has been hurting the wallet and the waist-line. I was introduced to their main location a year ago and absolutely loved that place since you could see everything being made by the pastry specialists depending on the item. It was a no-brainer when it came to this location opening up to become my go-to spot for my insatiable sweet tooth. There always seems to be parking out on KK or the side street right next door so you don't have to park blocks away. This location is much smaller with a pastry window that showed all of their sweets and a board that has all of the macaroon flavors that they keep hidden behind the counter. They have great mugs, classes, and travel mugs with their logo next to the pounds of Hawthorne coffee you can buy. The staff is always friendly and have a ton of items to choose from. I've had the majority of the items in the case and haven't had a bad thing yet. Definitely recommend this place to satisfy your sweet tooth in an amazing way.

A Sunday afternoon post brunch walk led to this Rocket Baby location. It's not nearly as large as the Tosa location, but the pastry case looked just as delectable. A chalkboard advertised 5 different macaron flavors (chocolate, vanilla, nutella, pistachio and red velvet), but only 2 were available, at least it was the pistachio and red velvet. I purchased these and a bottle of water and found a table to share with a friend. She picked a chocolate almond croissant and a small coffee. The macarons were interesting. What I remembered from the ones I had at Tosa were a very crunchy outside shell and a cream in in inside. These were very soft on the outside, and the inside cream was almost running. They also did not have the pop of flavor that I remembered previous versions having. I'm not expert, but these fell a bit short for me. My friend's croissant was large and flaky and fantastic and she shared a portion with me. It had a hit on almond and a drizzle of chocolate, the perfect amount of both to flavor the pastry, without overpowering it. I'm am not a coffee drinker, and never have been. But my friend loves, I mean LOVES her coffee. And she commented that this blend from Hawthorne Coffee was excellent, which is good to know! It's nice to have this location within walking distance and I will certainly be back for pastry.

Friendly staff, good coffee and awesome baked goods what more could you want! The savory muffin has an egg in it... How cool! Amazing croissants and a baguette so rustic and fresh I thought I was in Europe. Amazing addition to the neighborhood!!!

As a French bakery, Rocket Baby is top-notch, offering picturesque croissants and things like kouign amann that cause me to go to Wikipedia to figure out what I'm eating. The monkey bread is also sticky sweet fun. Plus, in a location that is less than a mile from Collectio, Stone Creek, and Annodyne, the drip coffee on offer is West Allis' Hawthorne Coffee Roaster, which is just one more reminder that Rocket Baby is slightly different. The only negative, though it's a substantial one, is that you are limited to whatever stock they have on hand. On busy days this means that you might not end up ordering what you thought you were going to order. Not that you can really go wrong here.

Croissants (Chocolate, Almond, Bacon) all excellent. Fresh baked bread was perfect. Everything priced accordingly. Staff is super great.

Great little addition to Bay View. Go early, the do sell out of stuff. And it's not like they can run in the back and whip up another loaf. Great to have a satellite location in my neck of the woods (Tosa is a trek for us south side girls). Super friendly staff, they didn't even look at me crazy as I made noises straight out of When Harry Met Sally (Meg Ryan style) as I ate my Chocolate Almond Croissant. Probably happens often as they are amazing. It's a teeny tiny place, perfect for a solo outing or a casual date. A number of beverages on the menu, great coffee and good service. If you have a sweet tooth, or a carb tooth, or if you're like me and have both kinds of teeth, you'll love it.

Boy, I am glad this place is here. Finally, a place to get a true baguette. The only baguette I have had in the Midwest that was better is at Madison Sourdough in Madison, WI, and maybe a close second would be Zingerman's in Ann Arbor, MI. I love to just get a good baguette and enjoy it all by itself, maybe with a little butter. They also make a damn good cookie. I hope this place does well, it seems like they know what they're doing with the bread and baked goods. I have accepted Rocket Baby into my life.

This is an excellent addition to Bay View. While the prices are steep, they are justified. Rocket Baby has an excellent product and it costs money to produce it. While I don't think I will be here every morning (it would be unhealthy for my wallet and waistline), we will go when looking for a special treat

We have been to this location, and found it to have the best fresh bread we have found in Milwaukee! Their croissants and baked goods are great as well. Parking is easy to find.

Ok, I know they just opened and they are following in the shadow of a successful and much loved older sister in Tosa, and I can be sympathetic to that, but if this were my only Rocket Baby experience, I'd never try them again. Staff is very friendly which is huge these days, I don't underestimate that, but their selection was sparse. What we tried was not great. The Monkey Bread from the Tosa stop will be inhaled by my family in an afternoon. This one from Bayview was, brace yourselves, stale. Sorry, no hiding that and in this town, no excuse for that either. We are a bakery family and my kids can tell from stale so it went in the trash. That was a sad first for us. My dining companion suggested chocolate croissants that were also kind of blah. Not what we expected after being fans of the Tosa shop. Also, there was no loaf bread to take home, the main reason for our visit. We were there at noon so again, surprised that they had so little to offer without another soul in the house. My daughter ordered the "breakfast muffin," with cheese, veggies and bacon in it. It wasn't good. Extreme salt and grease. I don't know how she worked through it, must have been hungry--and I'd say the same as what we experience in Tosa with this heavy salty concoction--just a not great menu item. She didn't finish it, Left it in a bag and a few hours later, it was soaked through with grease. Groady. I can't say we'd try them again. If we're going to drive 12 minutes, we can make it to Tosa. For what we spent, there was nothing we enjoyed or would recommend. The stars are for the staff, not the food.

Meh! Bread sample was delicious, much better than the pasties we tried. I really wanted to love it since I had heard so many great things about the Tosa location. I found the coffee was bitter and for one of us not consumable . I'll try again - maybe it was just an off day.

The Almond Croissant is heaven, hubs likes the Carrot Cake. Haven't tried other items yet but the Chocolate and Plain Croissants look awesome. They look like the real French deal. The prices are fair for the high quality.

Their baked goods were great, but they were out of most things by the time we went in (around 10 am). Not surprising, but still disappointing. Would love to see what else they have!
