Just left RW Pizza after a great customer service experience. We ordered one pizza, accidentally ended up with a similarly-named pizza. Ended up with that pizza, an extra app, the pizza we actually ordered, and a shot on the house. The co-owner and our waiter were a delight, attentive to us, and both truly cared that we had a great evening. They apparently are re-doing their dinner menu to prevent future mishaps like ours. I 100% recommend RW24 for their great attitude and awesome food, they are all-in to be the best neighborhood joint there is.

Great pizza, service, variety, and value. Andrea and Gil (I hope that spelling's correct) really make you feel welcome and cared for. Andrea was so patient with my good friend who called with many questions and changes to our order. Andrea did just the right amount of checking in once we were served. She allowed us to eat and enjoy. The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy, well decorated and lit, and not too noisy. The wall colors and art make for an interesting and engaging space. The pizza was fantastic. I got the 18" Pierce. Toppings were abundant and fresh. My friend had a "gluten less" pizza, a term they used since their kitchen is not certified gluten free, but they do use separate fryers and utensils to avoid cross contamination. She had the Singer Circle and Pierce. It was just as well stacked with toppings and full of fresh and delicious flavor. The price is more than reasonable. Riverwest Pizza is sure to become a fixture for pizza fans and those who love quality food and ambiance. The genuinely customer focused staff, round out this excellent dining experience.

The staff is wonderful! The pizza is incredibly delicious! The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting! It's a great addition to our neighborhood! I'll most certainly be back again and again!

Food took 45 minutes. No professional should ever have allowed the food to come out of the kitchen the way it did. It was awful. As someone in the business, I would have comped the meal. They didn't even seem apologetic. I wanted to like the place....

I loved the atmosphere. Dimly lit, not loud, interesting art on the walls, cool chandelier. It's a nice date spot. We had a very attentive and enthusiastic waiter. I was there early (6p) on a Tuesday and although the place filled up the pizza did not take long to arrive. We got a barbecue chicken pizza. It was a good size- filled the two of us up and had a bit left over. It was ok. The crust was crisp but had too much flour dusted on it. There was not enough sauce. Granted, too much sauce on a BBQ pizza is gross, but the sauce on this one was just too sparse and it didn't go to edge, which left the end bites of the pizza void of anything worth eating. My dining companion didn't even notice there was chicken on it as it was very finely shredded and sparse. I appreciate the decor, the location (my neighborhood), and that they focus on local, organic ingredients. I didn't love my pizza, but I'll come back and give another one a try.

Our group rated this place an A+. We all had Moscow mules (excellent -coming from someone who was not a fan before tonight). Inside was well done but a bit stuffy on a warm summer evening so we sat outside and it was perfect. We had three pizzas and a mushroom sandwich described by my friend as "redonk." The pizzas were light and crispy with fresh ingredients and a lot of flavor. Service was top notch, definitely a highlight which is nice because the service you receive can really set the tone for the night. Our service made for a very fun evening with friends. Based on ambiance, service, drinks and food, Riverwest Pizza does not disappoint. Will be back! Oh! If you have a Riverwest address you get 25% off everything from 11-6 on Fridays.... Helluva deal!

Reallllllyyyy good pizza! The restaurant is clean and the decor is really cute. The only thing that I hope they change in the future is getting a website/posting their menu online... I know that it's on Facebook but the pictures are sorta blurry and hard to read. I want a good copy of the menu so I can order carryout and eat their pizza more often! (Cause I really need more carbs in my life)

I've eaten here three times in two weeks. Just moved to the area, and love pizza. I've dealt with 4 bartenders Eric, Ed, Tommy, and Reed These people are amazing Also the decor, wings, and pizza rock Patio is fantastic, Inside is better.

A pleasant surprise. Unique Pizza combos that are also tasty, not just trendy. Clean, upbeat fun neighborhood vibe. Décor notes: Love the crystal shaped pendant lighting & fabulous central chandelier in dining area. Bonus points for the electrical charging stations below each seat at the bar. Bartender Eric rocks. Appetizer: Try the asparagus!

I'm pleased to say that I've had back-to-back fantastic experiences at Riverwest Pizza. I'm not usually a fan of thin crust pizza, but this place makes me think twice. Monday nights are Service Industry Nights, but I don't work in the service industry and didn't feel like awkwardly lying about it to get a deal. You can, however, get half off cans which makes Hamm's $1.25. Wowieeeee! I haven't ordered anything other than pizza here, but I feel comfortable giving 5 stars since it's a pizza place. First time around, we got the Bremen (kale, mushrooms, tomato, mozz). I was thoroughly impressed. The sauce was fantastic, everything was cooked perfectly. My experience was the same with the Fratney (duck, goat cheese, arugula). This was a little fancier, but still delicious. I am totally into their use of non-conventional greens, and Riverwest Pizza really set themselves apart with this. I would venture to say these two are the best pizzas I have had in Milwaukee. Service has been great, regardless of whether or not the place is packed. The decor is not what you would expect of a pizza joint in Riverwest (in other words, it's kinda fancy). Love everything. Will be back soon.

I was very excited to try Riverwest Pizza, was here last night with friends for a celebration and we had a great time - the service was amazing and drinks were good... put the pizza... what a disappointment!! We ordered the Humboldt and the Fratney. Both soggy and undercooked. The Humboldt had absolutely no flavor, just bland tomato sauce and the duck on the other one made me feel sick all night. Now I´ll need another celebration!! :)

My girlfriend and I had just finished making some delicious Kung pow chicken at home, when the handle fell of the pan during transport and landed upside down on our floor. We scraped our dinner in to the trash and decided we would order a pizza from Riverwest Pizza, since it's only a block away. The pizza was delicious, but very expensive. Also, we couldn't find their menu online, which just seems like a poor business decision. I really want them to be successful because they are so close. Hopefully they work out all the kinks.

For their third night open, we were impressed to see a wait. Granted, that also means the kitchen hasn't quite caught their groove so food took a bit long, but I'll give them a pass this time. The menu has great options, one that makes a decision hard in the very best way. Their asparagus fries look amazing (known by creepin on other tables) so we will be back for those. Fun fact: there are nutritional yeast shakers on the table, for vegans and their yeast-lovin friends. Happy hour specials are good: a few beers available for $2.50, rail cocktails for $3. The art and vibe is good; lovin the found objects art and the repurposed tables. There are a lot of tables, but it doesn't feel packed in. Draft and bottle list has something for everyone; average beer is $4-6. So the pizza! Thin crust, tasty red sauce, and gluten free options for your sensitive friends. We had balsamic glazed duck pizza and another with chicken; creative and well done. Great work, RWP! Live long and prosper.

Wow there are not words. It would be preposterous to say anything inflammatory about RWP. Not only is the bar fully stocked but the bartender Abby is verbose in drink knowledge. Not to mention that she is an absolute treasure. Truly a disney princess walking amongst mere mortal. Always in a great mood truly the absolutely kindest person I've ever been honored to be in the presence of. She loves working here and you can truly tell. ( she loves a good pun!) Now for the food. The pizza here is to die for. Absolutely delicious other apps on the menu all have witty names and Abby can give you suggestions to truly ensure you get what you're looking for! This is truly the treasure trove of river west. A clean trendy environment there's a back patio and chairs out front to sit at. Be sure to stop by.

Betty White talked about her dusty muffin on SNL. This pizza place served us one and called it the Old Standard. Menu sounds interesting and creative, but execution was easy-bake level. Great decor but service and ticket times need significant improvement if they want to depend on anyone other than over smoked hipsters to wait over 30 min for salads and 45 for a crisp and dusty breakfast pie. portobello appetizer was comped before it was served for an explined poor supplier. Pizzas were unevenly baked/ made; salads from a bag and dressings underseasoned. Service and food quality don't deserve cloth napkins.

I really want you to succeed, because I like you, RP. But your pizza making needs to improve--a lot--before that can happen. The good things about your pizza: You load on the toppings, so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth. The toppings are fresh and tasty. The bad things: Very undercooked. There was no color on the bottom of the crust. And with so many toppings, it was soggy and gross, especially in the middle. There's also little flavor to the crust. You need to add salt. You also cook the pizzas on screens, by the looks of the pattern on the crust (I also have screens and cook some pizzas on them since I don't have a commercial pizza oven). If you have a pizza oven, you really need to learn how to use a peel and bake directly on the bottom of the oven. That's what they're designed for. It will help cook the dough all the way through and give color on the bottom. I can also tell the dough had a dried out skin on it while it was rising, which leads to little bits of hard, crackly looking dough on the bottom. Cover your dough to keep it moist. Also, the standard red sauce is incredibly sweet. It reminds me of frozen pizza. Consider using less sugar/honey/whatever. We also ordered wings, the "hella hot" ones, and they had zero flavor, let alone spice. In fact they barely seemed like they had any kind of sauce at all. They seemed to be grilled or baked, so they weren't crispy. No thanks. Sorry guys, you're a cool place, and cool people, and I really want you to succeed. But your pizza is really just not up to par, at all. Other people are having the same complaints on here, so unfortunately it wasn't just an off night. Please examine your pizza making process and see where you can improve. Try reading the forums at pizzamaking.com ; those people know their shit, and many of the contributers own restaurants as well. Maybe you can get some new ideas.

My husband and I decided to try out Riverwest Pizza as he LURVES his pizza. We went in on the first week that it opened, so I'm not quite sure what we expected. We walked inside and it was hoppin'! Despite the busyness, we were greeted and given menus to peruse while we waited for a table. As we were waiting, I got a chance to appreciate the interior. There is some stellar art work featured by local artists on the walls. If the pieces weren't so expensive, I'd love to have taken one home! When we were seated, I took a few pictures of the menu. I LOVE that the pizzas are named after various streets and places around Riverwest. The pizza we had, Gordon Court--minus the bacon, was excellent. We also had the asparagus fries--MMMM-hmm GUUUUD! Very good. I think what I love the most is the local vibe here. One of my new favorite places for pizza! :)

Best pizza in the city IMHO. Imaginative and tasty specialty pizza options. Staff and owner are very welcoming and friendly. Been here twice so far and plan to return many more times.

Alright, I went back for a sit down meal and I'll update my review. I still think $19 for a 14in pizza that we picked up is ridiculous but I realize the reason it was so expensive was because we selected our toppings (the menu was not on their website at that time). SO having eaten at Riverwest Pizza recently I will now say that I am a fan of this place. The pizzas they have on their menu are nice range of options, we decided on the 14in Fratney ($15) and the 14in Bremen ($15) for four people and had plenty of food. We also got the asparagus fries for an app and I liked the concept although the ends were still quite woody. Shout out to our server for manning the entire restaurant and the bar on a holiday afternoon. We called ahead to check if they were open and he had a table reserved for us when we arrived. So, Riverwest, you redeemed yourself and I'm sure I'll be back ordering off the menu. I would still recommend a real website but I assume you're working on that.

Went on a Monday with my 13 year old niece and 6 year old daughter. Was very busy, no one sat us (not sure if they do that or not) but saw an empty table so we sat down at it. No air from what I could tell and it was a hot, muggy day so the inside was pretty stuffy. Garlic bread came out 5-7 minutes after our pizza arrived. There was a wait but it didn't bother us. Kids were watching Ninja Warriors and were well behaved and patient. We really did not mind the wait (other than it being so stuffy) The service was poor (could be maybe they were short staffed???) and the pizza was okay but what really stuck out, was the unfriendly feeling. Would definitely say it is not really a family friendly place. Was told Monday nights are service industry nights so yeah.....probably don't come on those nights. I felt this was advised to me because I had kids with me. Won't go back. I might consider take out but I was looking for a good pizza place, in the neighborhood to support. After this experience, I will stick to Balistreri's on 68th.

We came to visit our daughter from Chicago and stopped here for pizza. It was delicious! Most places we go to outside of Chicago for pizza we are not not happy but this was was really good. I would also Suggest the fried Brussels sprout.

Pizza is ah-mahzing! Yum. Eat pizza from Riverwest Pizza. Crust is crusty and cheese is cheesy. Yummm! My last review was a little harsh but I like high standards! Especially when it comes to food. Also- the tiramisu is to die for. Eat 5 slices for a good time.

Went for the first time last night. I liked the place more for its vibe, decor, and location than the actual pizza. And happy hour until 7 doesn't hurt one bit. Main issue with the za: the crust is doughy and sort of spongy. It's thinner and less greasy than pan crust, but not crispy like thin crust. It's sort of a no-man's land of dough, yo. I tried two kinds of the specialty pies, and the names are escaping me--perhaps a website with the menu is forthcoming. One had BBQ sauce, chicken, and basil, which sounded great but was executed poorly. The toppings seemed a bit cold, and it was covered with basil leaves--seemed like overkill. The other was pretty good--jalepenos, onions, and sausage I believe. I think this place will do well if it refines its offerings a bit. Also, shout out to the waiter, he was very attentive.

Seriously delicious pizza! No need anymore to cross the river! Pierce is traditional csmo plus olives. So good! We can't wait to have one on the patio this summer that was made on the grill! Also of note is the fantastic beer offerings...really a micro-lovers beernirvana! Gets a bit crowded but that is good for the RW!

Hands down some of the best pizza in town. Friendly service and great decor. I fully intend to try every street on the menu. Quality toppings and cheeses with a perfect mix of crunchy softness in the crust. One of the many Riverwest gems.

I live nearby and frequent RWP. They have attentive service, though slow during peak hours, make up for it with consistently delicious pizza. Wing are also always worth it. Great drink specials paired with awesome bartenders. Wish them success!!

  • Reggie W.

The food (appetizers, salad and a Pierce St. pizza) were all pretty great. The beer list is very respectable. Any place that has three IPAs available on draft is okay with me in that department. I was in on their fifth night open--a Friday. They were very forthcoming about the wait time (about an hour from being seated). I believe that our server and the host both mentioned it. I'm not sure if that timing was a function of the kitchen getting up to full speed or physical kitchen limitations. Was the pizza worth the wait? It's a pretty close call, but I'll give the tie to an establishment that so recently opened its doors.

Absolutely delicious. Friendly and quick service and decent beer selection. Will return!

  • Velo H.

Just okay. Vegan pizza means they leave off the meat and cheese. Duh! Do you not realize that you are in RIVERWEST! So I know this isn't Portlandia but come on, be a little creative. Kale salad was a monochrome of bleh that they picked up down the street at pick n save--with a little cup of Heinz vinegar and another little cup of canola oil on the side--as if to say, this is Milwaukee deal with it. Amateur hour.

  • Chuck W.

The service was impeccable. The food was outstanding and the chef and owner were amazing. I ordered a veggie pizza with no cheese and didn't realize that the pizza was a white sauce style - but the kitchen caught it and not only did they send an amazing pizza but it came with copious amounts of marinara and was baked with a really tasty garlic olive oil. This is neighborhood dining at its best.

We went on open in night and held off on writing a review just in case our experience was an isolated incident. Doesn't seem like it was from what I've read. The decor is wonderful and the happy hour specials are attractive. The venue itself is inviting and the patio makes me excited to see how this place does in the summer. We were seated relatively fast considering how busy the place was. There was some initial confusion about who our waiter would be. In the end our waiter provided wonderful service. We ordered the asparagus and wings. The asparagus was limp, barely warm, and had no flavor. Seemed like a mouth full of panko. The wings were not very good as the skin was slimy and not crispy at all. It was maddening that they took an 1+ hour to come out. The hot sauce was decent. We also ordered a plain cheese pizza to see how well the covered the fundamentals. Not too bad actually. Cheese blend was good. Sauce was decent, needs work though. The crust was most disappointing. Seemed like I was eating a frozen pizza crust. It was delivered to us right out the oven. I appreciated that. The waiter and two of the three owners apologized profusely about our experience and comped a good amount of our order. They said there was an issue in the kitchen and that they would fix it pronto. So all in all I'll stop back in in a month or two to see how they are again before I make a final decision of my opinion. 2 stars for food and one for the vibe and effort.

I was hindered by reviews but ended up going with a friend who knew one of the owners. It was great. I am a harsh judge of pizza too because we make our own from scratch and I hate paying for anything we can make better. But I'll definitely be back, we got the fratney and the pierce. The crust was perfect and timing was good and toppings were yummy. They do need a website with a menu however. Not having a website is like not having a door.

As a resident of Riverwest it's hard to escape all the chatter surrounding Riverwest Pizza, anxious to try it out I went with the lady the other night. First impressions are that it looks like it was assembled from some pre-fab hipster kit. Its like they were told "Throw some Edison bulbs around and have an eclectic beer list and soon you will be swimming in skinny jeans, facial hair, flannel, and tats." and they were. We started with the shrimp corn cakes which were good, but at $9 I really was expecting more...well, everything. It was really small. We ordered the Holton pizza and it was good. Not change your life good, but edible. Like the old saying pizza is like sex, when its good it's good, but when it's bad it's still pretty good. The waitstaff was attentive and polite. In short, as a neighbor I'm glad this place is here but I don't see it changing my pizza-buying habits.

Very excited to have this new restaurant in my neighborhood!!! This is a charming venue with a great aesthetic and even better food! We ordered the bruschetta with salami (which could easily serve 6) and an enormous pizza with homemade sausage, caramelized onion, and spinach. Everything was excellent, including the Schlitz on tap which was served in a vintage Schlitz glass! The employees work together as a seamless team, so you are never want for service - and everyone is kind and knowledgeable. It would not be Riverwest without a shaker of brewers yeast on the table for vegan patrons - but they also had the full dairy parm shaker for those of us who like the lactose:) I will definitely return for pizza, and am excited to try the other items on their menu too. Many thanks to Riverwest Pizza: a great addition to our community!!!

I've had great experiences here. I do wish they had an online menu, which is the only con. I would love this place to succeed since I live steps away, and I think it will.

I would give them 4.5 Stars. Areas where they excelled: Customer Service! We went for my fiance's birthday. They were super accommodating getting our large group a table. One of the pizzas that we ordered had a mistake (it was missing pineapple) and the server quickly corrected the error. They gave us two complimentary birthday cakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and a free shot for my fiance. They were super attentive and I have no complaints about the service. The owner also gave us hugs. She made our night! The desserts were also very yummy. Areas of improvement: The pizza was great. I loved the fresh ingredients and pizza combinations. All of the pizzas didn't have enough sauce though. Also, the type on the drink menu is incredibly small, which is a simple fix. Overall, great experience and we will definitely be back again! :)

Really good Pizza in a bar that has been totally redone. We started with Brussel Sprouts that were delicious. David was our server. If you have great service - which we did - it makes the restaurant successful.

I really enjoyed this place. I went here for the first time the other day. The food was delicious and the service was good as well. The pizza was taking longer than expected and the owner came to our table to offer us a free drink. Also it was mine and my roommates birthday and they sang us happy birthday (which is mortifying) and gave us the best dessert I've ever had! I will definitely be back for more!!

Great apps..."asparagus fries" and wings were great. Came out very fast. Pizza good, not super crispy crust that I like, but the toppings were plentiful. Very attentive service and friendly vibe in this small, warm space.

Really Great Restaurant in Riverwest! The interior is well done and polished, yet very comfortable and welcoming. The service is excellent which is sometimes lacking in RW establishments. The menu was just the right size and the pizza was delicious! Love that everything is made from scratch. They were out of wings which is something I must try at every restaurant I visit to compare. The fact that they were out because they had so many orders of them previously is a good sign, I will be back. The prices and portions are good and being only a few blocks from our home, we will be back. Pizza man has enough business, I would like to promote great places like this in our neighborhood instead!! Also, I love Guiness and it isn't always available on tap at many establishments, but it is here and poured like it should be. Thank you for a great dinner.

Great vibe- filled with locals and crowded on a cold Friday night. Sat at the bar and since recommended by others, had the asparagus fries which were addicting. Then had the 'Pierce' pizza and did the gluten-fee option. Crust was crisp and toppings were plenty. Fantastic service and love this great neighborhood spot!

Had a wonderful experience in here last weekend celebrating Valentines Day with some friends. Our service was spot-on and the pizza was delicious. The owner is very hands-on & friendly. This place is great - we will be back sooner then later!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
