This is not your normal airport fare. The burgers are cooked to order with delicious, fresh, handmade beef patties. The showstring fries are crisp and piping hot. Top it off with a chocolate malt made with their custard and YUM. I would drive to the airport to eat here even if I didn't have a flight. Don't be in a rush, though. It does take awhile to make all this fresh food.

I stopped here before my flight to Vegas the other day. I ordered a Cheeseburger and a Chocolate Malt. It was actually one of the best burgers I've had in a long time and the Malt was thick, Rich and delicious. My food was so good I would eat here even if I wasn't flying somewhere!

Unexpected find in Milwaukee airport. Would recommend to anyone looking for fast, tasty, local food option. Burger - fresh, simple, hit the spot. Ordered a single burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo. You can customize your burger for no extra charge. Option to add "Northpoint sauce," which is thousand island dressing with boiled eggs. Vaguely reminiscent of In-N-Out. Overall, a solid burger. Custard - vanilla and chocolate swirl. Generous portion and authentic flavors. Didn't try the fries -- maybe next time!

Came here a bit tipsy after having a few drinks at Millers 10 footsteps away. Food is decent. EVERYTHING from the burger to the bun is seasoned which is not a bad thing. Cashiers are friendly, only one cook that makes food speedy fast & edible which I appreciate. The bottom bun was a bit hard but still ok. Vanilla custard is delicious like always! Yummm. Being a Vegas native everytime I come to Milwaukee have to get some custard. We have it on the west coast but this custard is the best. Overall will rate 3.8 because it is the 2nd best place to grab a bite before you take off besides Miller's Brewhouse. & don't forget the Northpoint sauce to dip your fries in! You're welcome...

Unlike other reviewers, my food came up quite quickly - about 5-6 minutes or so with an order or two in front of mine. Since everything is made to order I can see where wait time could be a concern during busy times. I was flying out of Concourse E which has exactly "jack shit" for eating options so I figured I'd better grab something pre-security and Northpoint seemed to be the best bet. I do appreciate that I can customize my burger to some extent - what type of cheese, toppings etc. A single cheeseburger is about $5 (1/4lb patty) and that was plenty enough for me. You can get double, triple and even quad patties. The last one is called the "killer" and comes with "free fries" because you absolutely will need a snack for the ambulance ride to the cardiac unit. The quality seemed to be pretty good - my patty was decent and the rolls are from Sciortinos. I do wish they would toast/grill the bun so it holds up a little better. My burger was "fine" - it's probably the tastiest thing in this part of the airport but doesn't hold a candle to "non-airport" food.

Loved this place. I flew into MKE from California and was starving. I couldn't even go get my bag without stopping for food, I was so hungry. This place looked cute. I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions and it was sooo good! It was one of the best burgers I ever had! The service was great and I could watch while they made my burger. Hey, does food taste better when you're starving?

This is a burger joint in an airport. You're going to spend too much and the food is going to be ok. You're going to wait a long time for it and wonder why. You're going to be upset that it isn't as good as the North Point at the lake. You're going to wonder why you're still waiting for a damn burger and nervously look at your watch and hope that you get through security quickly. You're going to get on the plane and wish you hadn't eaten a giant burger and fries. The people on your flight are going to wish hadn't as well.

Absolutely not worth the wait for their burgers. Very slow service and burger has little taste. Nice bun but not enough to make up for wait or lack of taste w their burger.

As far as airport food this place is alright. They use thin patty burgers and put it on a warm buttered and toasted bun. If you are not a local I would reccomend trying the fried cheese curds, they were the highlight of my quick airport dinner.

  • L H.

With no one in line at this joint at the airport I assumed this would be a quick stop. It took about 10-15 minutes to get a burger and fries and it was not worth the wait. The burger was cold, the cheese barely melted and little to no flavor. The fries were a little better - crispy and hot. But I will not return here on any of my frequent trips to the airport. Definitely expected much more from a Bartolotta restaurant.

I have never heard of this restaurant in the city of Milwaukee so when I saw it in the Milwaukee International Airport, I had to check it out. And I am happy that I did! It's a mixture between Five Guys and Culvers. Five Guys because it has a very limited menu to burgers, fries, and a few additional sides and the look of the restaurant. Culvers only because it also sells custard. Now, let me describe the burger..... The burger was seasoned very well and was full of flavor. The buns were buttered and actually tasted like buttered buns. The burgers were cooked to order and the buns were buttered to order. And the Northpoint Sauce... It tasted like a Spicy Big Mac Sauce and was delicious! I will definitely eat at this restaurant again the next time I am in the Airport. And just maybe I will find this place in the city somewhere so that I can enjoy the food all over again.

Stopped here Saturday night with my 5 year old son. Son had the Nathan's Hot Dog which I tried as well and was very good. I tried the special they had which was a Cod Basket. Very good as well. I got 3 pieces of cod along with some fries. Only wish I would have gotten another piece or 2 as the pieces weren't very big. Quality was very good. Will definitely eat here again as the food options in the airport are very limited.

I had lunch at Northpoint Custard (before secured area) during a long layover at MKE Airport. This order at the counter eatery serves up burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, tater tots, onion rings, cheese curds, Pepsi fountain drinks, and frozen custard treats. There is a cozy self serve seating area inside the restaurant and plenty of power outlets along the wall to plug & charge your electronic devices. You can watch the staff flame grill the burgers and make your food through the glass window. I ordered a Single Burger (with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, & Northpoint sauce) and a Cod Basket. The food tasted pretty good. The flame grilled burger with my topping choices were very tasty including the buttered grilled bun. The battered fried cod (3 pieces) and the Yukon gold crinkle cut fries were deep fried golden and crispy, though on the greasy side. The service here was very slow since there was only one guy running the register and only one cook in the kitchen. It took about 25 minutes for my order to be completed. I was in no rush since I still had three more hours ti wait to board my flight.

It was fine for a quick Breakfast before the flight. Chewy bun with well done egg and bacon and little bit of cheese. BETTER than other Fast Food options as it is made fresh to order. Staff was fast and semi-friendly. Tater Tots for Breakfast? YES PLEASE!!!! Charging strip along tables against the wall, very convenient for travelers. Clean dining room. I would definitely stop here again for a breakfast sandwich.

It was "exciting" to see an airport restaurant put up a big sign saying they have gluten-free buns. One word of warning, however: If you have a palm oil allergy, like my wife does, the gluten-free buns here must have them because she had a reaction within a few minutes after we finished eating. Luckily, we're always prepared, and she was able to take some allergy medication to stave off the harsh reaction. This isn't the fault of the restaurant, they can't put up notices for every sort of allergen out there, and palm oil isn't overly common. The food was very good for a burger joint. You choose how many patties you want, then you choose all the toppings you want, and, with the exception of a few premium toppings, they're all free. The crinkle fries were great and NOT salty, another wonderful surprise, as most restaurants love to salt, salt, salt the fries. If I'm in the Milwaukee airport again (and I hope to be, as I'm trying to relocate to Wisconsin), I'll definitely stop by. We'll just know for my wife that she can't have the bun.

Dying to try frozen custard in Milwaukee?? Here's your chance.. at the AIRPORT! It might not be Kopp's (my long time favorite and the one I have drop shipped to me on occasion), but it is dayum good. As previously mentioned, try the swirl -- the chocolate is super chocolatey, and the vanilla is rich and eggy -- like custard is supposed to be. You will not be disappointed. Ps, a small is way plenty big.

I stopped in here while my flight was delayed and was happy that I did. It was probably the earliest I have ever consumed a burger in my life. I thought it was one of the better airport burgers I have tried. This place allows a very customizable burger which surprised me as well,I went with a single patty with American cheese and Sauteed onions. The burger was just moist and juicy enough combined with the savory onions made it quite tasty. Had some Fries as well which were cooked perfectly. The service was fast and friendly. I would recommend anyone make a stop here before their flight but remember you can't bring liquids through security. But you can bring your burger and fries.

Loved the gluten free bun for my burger. What a pleasant surprise that this was an option! Their custard is yummy as well.

Stopped here since I heard good things about this place after a bad flight that ran out of food and I was late for since my connection was late... so I was hungry! Food was fresh and made to order, nice change for an airport! Loved the seeing the local WI menu after being away from home. Got myself a veggie burger that was pretty good w/the Northpoint sauce. Brought home a cheeseburger for the husband which he said was nothing special. So for airport food I guess it's pretty decent but real world, just so-so. I prefer Nonna's in the concourse... that definately holds up to the Bartolotta reputation!

  • Merlin C.

I would give this place a higher rating if the service were better, and it was faster. But on a day with no line, I waited 20 minutes to get a burger and shake. what if i had a flight.

I was searching for some food while in the airport and I saw "custard" and was sold. The prices are typical for the airport, but the food is great! I got a burger with cheese (~$4), some cheese curds (~$5) and a small soda (~$2). The burger was decent, and the cheese curds were GREAT. They even had a little squeak to them, which I wasn't expected because they were fried. Of course, I ended the meal with frozen custard (~$3). I had to get the swirl because I've never had chocolate custard before. It did NOT disappoint. It was ~20 degrees outside, but I didn't even care, it was worth it. It was AMAZING. Why don't they sell frozen custard all over the country? It's a CRIME, haha. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. Food came out in decent time, customer service was pretty nice, and I LOVED the food. I would highly recommend if you are hungry and in the Milwaukee airport!

Service was top notch...usually at the airport you don't expect much in terms of service but this was exceptional. The burger was cooked to order and was good. The strawberry shake was satisfying. Little on the pricey side but the best eats at the airport.

It's always interesting to see traditionally high-end restaurateurs attempt to put their spin on everyday fare. Things like the hamburger are easy to make well even for the common man, so unless there's something special to offer from the Bartolotta approach, it isn't probably much more than someone looking to capitalize on the opportunity. At 1/3 pounds, the burgers here are small-ish, though I like that I was given the option of having my patty cooked either medium or well done. I chose the former. Topped with some mustard, pickles, and grilled onions, the trademark char of the Bartolotta restaurants lends itself to the burgers, and while I was satisfied, it certainly wasn't much more than a pretty good airport burger. Probably one of the best in the airport, though that's not saying much. Nothing wrong with the custard, though. That, along with the cheese curds, is probably the best taste of Milwaukee you're going to find without leaving the premises. Though if you're here, you're either coming or going, so you've either have plenty of time to discover what the city has offer, or you've already missed your chance.

This little spot at the airport is pretty damn good! On our flight out to New York we decided to stop here for lunch before checking in. I had the fish sandwich with fries and hubby had the beef hot dog. My sandwich was fried to crunchy perfection and the fixings fresh and everything I wanted in a fish sandwich. Hubby liked his hot dog and the fries were good. This place will definitely be our stop anytime we are at Mitchell International.

Waited 30 minutes for a Hot Dog and there was 1 order in front of me. They did not seem to be working on any orders.

Tried this place for a second time recently prior to my departure out of MKE. Both experiences were about the same - - definitely subpar. I had custard both times, and it was pretty good (nothing spectacular). Service, however, was the worst of the worst. It took over 20 minutes to get my custard served on both occasions. The custard is already pre-made in the machine, and I had assumed that custard (ordered alone) would be served quicker than the cooked-to-order burgers and fries. I brought it up to the person working the counter, and he just told me that there were several food orders ahead of mine and that I'd have to wait. The only things preventing me from giving this place a single star were that the burgers they were making looked good, the custard wasn't bad, and they didn't spit in my custard.

My god was this bad. And I mean really, really bad. Not one thing was good. Not the burger, the shake or even onion rings. The only thing that was just okay were the cheese curds, but even those leave you feeling gross. I honestly would've preferred to eat the food on the plane. The shake was too icy. The meat was over-cooked, dry and flavorless. The ingredients tasted like GMO's. Even their ketchup is Hunt's, which should tell you something right there- even their condiments sucked. Just so bad. Did I say it was bad yet? Oh, I did? Sorry. Guess I am beating a dead horse, but that's only because it was BAD. So, again, in summation... it was B-A-D.

What a welcome add on to Mitchell! Who is sick of eating at Chili's at airports? Anyone, everyone? I've always enjoyed the other North Point on the lake and this tiny little shack at the aeroport doesn't disappoint either. The burgers are excellent and not too big. Oh and they have crinkle fries which clearly one has to order with a burger. Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb.

I was pleasantly surprised by the burgers here. I stopped in around lunchtime for a burger and fries. Ordered the double burger with cheese, lots of toppings, and a side of fries along with their Turtle Sundae. The burger was really good. The bun was toasted and buttered, and the combination of the meat, melted cheese, and sauteed onions, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup was perfect. The Turtle Sundae was good too but they forgot to add the nuts that were on the menu. I would return anytime I'm in the airport. As a bonus, the employee who took my order was very friendly.

  • Leif D.

Ordered a double burger and onion rings. Was dismayed as I observed the server cough multiple times while preparing the food, evidently sick with a cold but not having the sense to take the day off. Nervously consumed my lunch with the hope that she wasn't contagious. The burger, while nothing amazing, actually had decent flavor. But the onion rings tasted plasticky and flat. Would not eat here again.

DUDES and DUDETTES, ever been to Mitchell and are just CRAVING something besides baller coffee at Alterra or fast food... but still want something quick and delightful. Hit up NPCustard. They're amazing... Try the cheese fries if you like shoestring fries and gobble down on of their burgers. You won't be let down... and here's a secret... Shhhh! Come closer... THEY SERVE BREKKIE!!!!

So disappointing given the other reviews on this place. Even Yelped this place before selecting it for lunch on my layover. Ordered the brats with kraut and a side order of fries. Had to wait 5-10 minutes, but that was fine since other reviewers prepared me for that. The brat came out dry with literally 8-10 strands of kraut. Went back to ask them to put more kraut on, and they were out!! Why didn't you say so when I ordered? The place wasn't crowded, so it's not like they ran out after I specifically asked them if they had kraut and was told yes. What's brats if not for the krauts! This place is just one of those airport places where the employees hate being there. Big ripoff at $8+ for a small sausage on a bun and order of fries. Didn't even try the custard - didn't want to give these guys any more business given the experience.

  • Bill S.

Service was glacial. Had the hot dog. Took forever and a day. Yes, to put a hot dog on a bun. Staff seemed disorganized. Otherwise, if you have the time and want to wait, it is one of the better options at the airport. (Other options: Quniznos, bland pizza, and over-priced salads at Alterra's.)

  • Proteus D.

Great burger. Was starving and my flight was late. Sick of all the cardboard tasting stale sandwiches on sale at my gate I went back out through security to get some proper food. Service was kind of slow but I wasn't disappointed. Perfect and just what I was in the mood for. The bun especially was perfectly toasted and the burger itself very tasty. I asked for no salt on the fries and was accommodated. I nearly missed my flight for this burger .... but that's another story!

  • Lana A.

Slow food, so don't order if you're running late to catch a plane. Also a bit heavy on the grease and fat, so may not sit well in your tummy when you're flying. Overly salted by the cook. Frozen custard wasn't nearly as good as Culver's. Very pricey for what you get. Would not bother with this place again.

    (2)
  • Mike I.

Ordered a burger. It was fresh and handmade ground beef. Yes, I can tell the difference. It was cooked to order so you wait a few minutes but the payoff is in the taste, a really amazing burger! I also had the fried cheese curds which were a new thing for me but were really good. Cheese + Boiling Hot Oil = delicious , fatty , nuggets of joy! I didn't order any custard maybe next time at the Milwaukee airport I will!
