I've been craving Chinese take out for awhile, so i thought i would try this place out since it is just down the road from my house. It's divey on the outside, but clean on the inside. When you walk in you see a buffet of food choices with a welcoming staff member. I was pleasantly surprised to see an older woman who was working away on a Wok preparing food for the line. I ordered Chicken Fried Rice, Orange Chicken and a Veggie Egg-roll. The fried rice tastes just like every other take-out, and the Orange chicken was, well, orangey, however i was hoping for some spice and this did not have any. I was really looking forward to my Egg-roll to find out after the first bite that they gave me the wrong one, and i got a mouthful of shrimp. Thank goodness i don't have a seafood allergy or that could have ended badly. Overall, if i'm craving Chinese take-out, this is my place to go. I will just be extra sure that i get a veggie egg-roll next time.

I been to better Chinese take out than this. My food tasted like garbage and old. If you are craving Chinese food go somewhere else, you won't regret it.

Granted I'm a simple person who really likes the bare minimum, I wasn't necessarily too impressed with the quality of food that I received. I typically like fried rice and egg rolls. Always have. The fried rice was literally the bare minimum of protein and rice. I didn't have any noticeable egg or any other greens. Just the two. Flavor wasn't really existent, so it was a bit of a let down. The Egg roll was definitely the highlight of my order. It had good flavor, a good crunch, and was consistent with the hundreds of other egg rolls that I've had in the past. Nice tang, nice sweetness, delicious overall. The pot stickers I'm on the fence about. They seem to me to be overfilled, which decreases the quality for me immensely. Most pot stickers that I've had tend to have a nice composition of soft, crunchy, and airy. These were mainly soft and lacking severely in the flavor department. In addition to all of this, I ordered delivery. Now when it comes to service they know exactly how to do this. I was quoted with an arrival time of around 505 and it arrived at 447. Great timing, especially for a starving person such as myself. They made sure to confirm everything and asked specifically if there were any additions that I wanted (number and type of sauce packets. With that all being said, I'm still somewhat unfamiliar with the specialties of this place, so I may end up revising my opinion of them in the future. I haven't given up on them yet, so we'll see how future orders go.

Somehow i knew this place would be bad but thought I'd give it a try cause i left work to run some errands during lunch so got caught in the middle of lunch rush and all the other places around the area had long lines. I couldn't afford to wait as my lunch hour was expended. I had the 2 plate combo chicken fried rice and pepper steak. Very disappointing. I had one piece of beef that was the size of my hand and the rest were the size of ground beef! Veggies were soaked and soggy. For having such a limited menu, you would think they would perfect what they do have. If that is their perfection, I'm definitely not going back. I'd rather wait in the long lines.

I ran into this family run business with the intention of buying a three entrée combo meal, and rushing home before my previously purchased ice melted and my resupply of beer warmed up. There was only one other guy before me in line serviced by whom I presumed to be the son, and this sweet older lady had just finished up a fresh entrée in the wok which turned out to be pepper steak. JACKPOT!!! She warmly greeted me with a huge smile and proceeded to load up that Styrofoam takeout container as if I was her long lost son. *sniffles* I had a yearnin' burnin' for some shrimp fried rice; not that stuff you make at home... Only that REAL fried rice that you can only get with the addition of around a gazillion blastin' BTUs of natural gas under a blackened, well seasoned cast-iron wok that looked like it survived a train wreck. If you don't have fireballs of residual ignited peanut oil flaring up from the top of your wok-tossed food up towards the exhaust hood, it's not authentic. WAHHOO!!! "Breath of the Dragon" my friends!!! My second selection was the Sesame Chicken. It wasn't the fried chicken dough balls covered in sauce I've unfortunately had at times; in fact I'm sure they used a technique that my late mother used, and that's to marinate the chicken, toss in cornstarch, flash fry it in oil, then drain before you add the sauce. It resulted in a sweet, savory dish, yet had a yielding crunch despite being covered in the molten tangy master sauce. The third selection was the freshly cooked Pepper Steak. (Can you blame me? Last in, first out...) It was loaded with sliced-across-the grain beef, big chunks of seared, yet crisp green bell pepper, a soy, garlic, and black bean paste gravy, and loads of fried sweet onions. The daughter rang me up ($8.35+tax), and ZOOM!!! I rushed home to ice down that beer, rinse (Always 3 times) and steam some jasmine rice, (I can't eat Chinese "neat". It's too rich, I need some raw starch up in there...) and crack the lid of the takeout container as to not make the Sesame Chicken and veggies soggy. Nothing more to do other than suck some brews, "mainline" some Chinese as the rice steams... Life is good, and I'll be back! Postscript: Go during the 1-2 hour windows of rush hours of lunch or dinner for the freshest selections otherwise your experience may vary. An under-lit, out-of-focus picture to follow when I get around to it... CIAO!!!

I'd give this place -10 stars if I could. Waited over an hour and a half for delivery. The food was disgusting. Couldn't identify the meat in my chicken fried rice. I figured I'd try to eat since I'd already paid for it. NOPE! Could only manage to eat a few bites and then it went right into the trash. Wouldn't have bothered to review this place if I hadn't spent half the night on the toilet and puked/dry heaved most of the next day.

1 1/2 hours for delivery. Food awful!. Learned my lesson wont be ordering from again. I am Asian and this is not Chinese food. I would be embarrassed with serving food such as this. Hong Kong express should be ashamed.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
