There is no better gauge of a great restaurant than owners who are involved in their business's operation and this place had some of the nicest owners I have met. We just stopped in after a volley ball game because I was craving gyros and we were starving. They took care of us quickly and the food was phenomenal. I had a gyro sandwich with feta (one of my all time favorites) and the Greek fries. I really love feta cheese so the Greek fries were quite refreshing (they added fresh squeezed lemon on top for greater effect). My wife had the chicken Kebob and gyro combo. I had a bite and It was delicious! I would definitely recommend both and I will definitely get what she had next time I stop in. The gyro meat was very well made (not really burnt or hard on the outside) and had the right amount of the filling/good tasting grease from the lamb/beef fat). I usually use the quality of the meat as another way of telling how good a gyro place is. On another note, their bathrooms were really clean. I would recommend this for grabbing a quick lunch/dinner and for groups. I liked the owners so much I will make it a point to bring other people here. Definitely a gem of MKE.

We stopped in Saturday for lunch while we were in Milwaukee visiting our son, who lives down the street. We've been to Greek Village before, and just like every time we've visited, the food was fresh and very tasty. I love the home made Tzatziki sauce. It's the best I've had. The salads are excellent and made with fresh ingredients. The 1/3 lb Greek Style Burger $4.79 was excellent and full of flavor. The husband and wife who run and own the place are very friendly and they spent some time talking with us about Greece and the Milwaukee East Side neighborhood. Good people for sure. You've got to check this place out and say hello to the owners.

My husband and I were in the neighborhood yesterday and had the bright idea to stop in and see George and Amalia, the owners of Greek Village. We were regulars when they had a bigger restaurant west of Mayfair Rd. on Bluemound. It was "old home week" as we renewed acquaintances. Must say that the food in this counter service restaurant is equally excellent as their full service restaurant. My gyros "supreme" with cukes, tomato, and feta was just delicious. Juicy even without the homemade tzaziki sauce, which was delicious. Fries were crisp and hot. The lamb chops are one of the pricier items on the menu, but so well worth it. They're loin chops and a serving consists of 3 large chops. Grilled perfectly and to order, they're superb. Served with rice, cinnamon-tomato sauce and a crisp Greek salad. Too much for lunch, so our doggie bags will provide dinner tonight!!! We were interested to learn that they offer delivery via Flavor Cycle. If you live in the Brady Street area I can think of no better idea than to call Greek Village and have a terrific dinner arrive by bike!!!

Pretty good. It's vaguely Greek isles themed (read: mykonos on van buren-ish). All that's really important to me though was that my gyros and fries was ready in like 2 min and 36 secs (give or take a minute). But why does the addition of fries to a gyros sandwich always involve a "plate" and the addition of $3 or $4 on the final bill? Ah, mysteries of the universe. Because u know as well as I that that pita busting full of gyro meat won't seem like enough food at 2 am. They got me in and out in a jiffy on my sojourn from riverwests finest establishments to my eastside abode. This is golden and definately a-ok in my humble opinion.

Read the reviews and decided to give it a try, and very glad we did! The woman at the counter was very friendly and welcoming, the menu is short and sweet and just the right amount to not overwhelm. We ordered the spanakopita for appetizer and then a gyro and French fry meal- large portions we took the rest home. Very reasonably priced and extremely quick service. We highly recommend and hope the owners know how much we appreciated their smiles, service, and how clean/well maintained the restaurant appeared. We will be back to try the rest of the menu!

I come here at least once a week. The happy couple that own the place are always friendly and really fun to chat with. I've had the gyros and philly cheese steak. Both are amazing! And for the price? You can't ask for much more. Greek Village is a must try.

Def a go back to spot for me! The food was hot and tasty as well as the cleanliness of their "village". I will go here when I'm not near O.G's. I give it a 10/10! And that's big!!!

I have been a long time east side resident and I have to say, these are the best gyros in Milwaukee! The owner's are super nice as well and they have a reserved parking spot right in front of the store. Give it a try.

We live close and go here more than I would like to admit. The food is tasty, hot, quick, and the lady who takes the orders is super friendly. When I call in orders, she typically tells me that it will be ready in 6 to 7 minutes (just enough time to start walking over). Some of my favorite items are the Greek salad (if you get the large, be prepared to share), the gyro supreme, and the fries. Also, although not listed on the menu, they have a chicken gyro for those who are so inclined. Typically it is all really delicious. One time we had a chicken gyro that was a little dry, but it was nothing that couldn't be fixed with some gyro sauce. If you're in the mood for a burger, those are great too. Bottom line, the place is really a gem, and I hope that it stays in business as long as we are living within walking distance.

It's the closest gyro place to my apartment and I like it a lot. I got the gyos supreme and it satisfied all my urges, right down to the full bottle of cucumber sauce that I almost single-handedly destroyed. The meat was proper slices off a rotating chunk. Moist, flavorful, oh, everything. Fries were hot and glistening from the fryer. My dining companion had the Greek style burger with an extra patty and extra feta. Grunts of pleasure all around. Sweet grandma-type lady took our order and brought the food to our table. She was lovely. We'll be back.

Bottom Line: Huge portions, standard fare, decent prices. The owners are the nicest people; I am glad to do business there. This place is so cliché and unmemorable that it is kind of charming. Note the hilariously generic name. I mean, "Village" is really pushing the boundaries of creativity, right next to "#1 China Buffet." Nothing even remotely trendy going on here, which in Riverwest, is sometimes nice. This is a place you can go to in sweatpants motivated by self loathing instead of irony. Finally! As far as the food, it is your standard greek short order place. Not as extensive menu wise as Oakland Gyros, but does anyone really order a burger at a place like that? Come on! Gyro meat was good, but I guess I'm not really a connoisseur; and I don't think I breathe when eating gyros anyway. Our service was quick and pleasant, so if you want gyros and don't feel like being entering the land of brosephs on Oakland this is a solid place.

Visiting from out of town, stopped in with my in-laws for lunch before a brewery tour. Had really good gyros, reasonably priced, good quantity of food. Incredibly nice owners, even gave me some baklava for my birthday! Will be back on my next trip!

Very pleased. We got delivery. It is our first time ordering from here. Our food was here in under a half-hour and still hot. We both remarked how well packed the food was. My gf works for a well-known pizza delivery place, so she understands the importance of how things are packed for delivery. We were impressed that they took into consideration that it was raining out and that all our food was wrapped in plastic bags so it would not get wet. Very cool. As far as the food, like I said, this as our first time. I am a lifelong Milwaukeean and I know my Greek places. This was REALLY quite impressive. The price was right, and what I really liked was that my combo plate wasn't all rice pilaf with a side of meat. I got a lot of food. I got #3 combo and I had a lot of gyro meat and at least a whole chicken breast for the shish-kabob. At least 2 meals for under $10. The dinner also comes with a salad, which is unusual by Milwaukee standards. My salad included at least 5-6 pieces of feta, 6-7 olives, and 4-5 peppers and huge chunks of tomato and cucumber. AWESOME!!! I love that stuff, so I was grinning when I opened my dinner and saw a really nice salad. The rice pilaf was great. The sauce was one of the best I have ever had for Greek take-out. The gyro meat was flavorful. The chicken was a bit overcooked, but it was grilled, so sometimes that happens. No biggie. Also, my gf and I have very strict dietary restrictions. I have a food allergy to raw onions, my gf is a strict vegetarian. Our orders can sometimes get really complicated, and often we end up with stuff we can't eat. Greek Village got our order 100% correct. That means a lot to us. I would give it a try.

I tried out this charming corner restaurant shortly after moving into the area and very happy to be living close to this hidden gem. Had to try the gyro platter and honestly could be the best gyro in the city! Meat was piled high that could easily be two meals and juicy enough that could eat without any sauce added to (although they give you the typical gyro sauce if you please). The side of fries was another heaping portion which was another pleasant surprise. Been here quite a few times since and never disappointed with the other menu selections - salads, burgers, desserts, etc. What truly makes this place a gem is the owners - they are seriously one of the most genuine couple I've met and are typically the only people working so you know they care about their business - the wife works the register while the husband cooks. They put in extremely long hours as I always see them there when I walk my dog by their place. Plus they will always go out of their way to say hi or wave out the window which feels like they truly care about their customers and community. Highly recommend this place and supporting these small business owners who are giving it all to make it work. They have a ton of indoor seating plus they sell beer and open late on weekends which is a plus!

The chicken gyro is SO GOOD! Yes, yes I have to have chicken because I can't eat lamb due to digestive reasons. I'm sure the regular gyro is just as delicious. We stopped in for a gyro and some greek fries (also AMAZING! Real feta, not Parmesan cheese that some places use). Parking can sometimes be difficult in this area but they are relatively fast and you can phone in orders so plan according. Very clean and very friendly. Love it! I want to try some other menu items and update my review :D

I don't even remember being here. The heartburn the following morning says it was pretty good though.

I'm Greek and I love this place. Enough said? No, in all honesty, moving to MKE from Chicago has been a little tough. There isn't a big greek community or culinary scene. The city does, however, have decent Greek fast food. When I first moved here, I sampled the typical joints. OGs etc. I have got to say, every time I walk into this restaurant and see the obviously Greek owners and eat their super authentic food, I get warm and fuzzy inside. I don't get that anywhere else. Get the rice. The sauce on it tastes like my mom's.
