Came home to this airport, wanted a snack before an hour ride home..went inside grabbed a bagel and asked the girl if she could toast it and I wanted cream cheese, she seemed nice at first and went ahead and toasted it. When she gave me my bagel she said she couldn't find the cream cheese, and said they have butter. Now I only eat bagels with cream cheese so I said if she didn't have it I wouldn't want it. She picked up her phone screamed she was f'n done with today and called the manager, when the manager didn't answer she threw her phone across the counter and threw her hands up and said I can't even do an f'n refund. Not joking on the swearing! I was disgusted by her attitude, got her supposed name from other girl, she said it was cassie, I highly doubt that was her name. I will be contacting manager on how rude she was!

Rudest people in the world ! When I asked for a different Kind of bread, cashier Sighed and said we don't have different Types of bread......I said this Is a bakery right ? Then I asked If I could have ice for my drink, She said we don't have ice, you Should just leave........ Food is a joke, all the bread And baked goods are stale, But they charge through nose For everything ! Worst excuse For a bakery I have ever seen !

Moldy salad and egg sandwich. Waited 30 minutes for the manager to show up to address this, but he never showed. Got a refund, and told the workers they should check all the food in the display case. The cook shrugged and said there wasn't anything he could do since he wasn't a manager. I told them that maybe saving their customers from food poisoning would be a smart idea. AVOID THIS PLACE.

This restaurant was awful. Not only was it over priced airport food but it was barely edible. One of the sandwiches was soggy and the other tasted like something had gone bad. Trying to even get two basic sandwiches that were already pre-made took 10 minutes..... Who knows why it took so long for them to wrap them in tin foil and no one seemed competent enough to answer any questions, not even pricing. I will never recommend this place to anyone!

Meh. Had the vegan chili, but I don't know why. I like meat in it. Only good thing was a nice spice to it. One of those moments when you regret following someone else's review. And why was a small cup (which they call "bowl") about $7. I'll pass next time. The staff look so miserable here, especially the chick they had working the register. Just staring at me until I ask, "Are you ready?" Not the type of reception you want during a long day of travel. You don't want to be here, I don't want to be here, but damn girl.

The salad was spoiled and when we asked for our money back we were told we would have to wait for a manager. He egg salad tastes nothing like egg salad. Overpriced awful food.

Many airport restaurants have taken steps to up their game. French Meadow Baker is NOT one of those restaurants. French Meadow Bakery's marketing and location are first rate -- presenting a clean atmosphere at the start of the long hallway to terminal C. But that is all a facade and a sham. French Meadow Bakkery' substandard food tastes bad and it is inordinately expensive. On one visit had their bagels -- stale and hockey puck hard. The staff refused to refund the purchase or replace the bagel. On another occasion I tried the egg sandwich. The eggs were runny and it contained spinach, even though I asked them to exclude the spinach. Again -- no refund, but they did offer to make another sandwich. The muffins capped my attempt to like this place. I ordered both the chocolate chip muffin and apple muffin. I purchased two muffins in case one was bad. Surprise -- both were bad. The muffins were so dry that the first bite into each immediately sucked the moisture out of my mouth. Once I chipped through the hard exoskeleton, the muffin fell apart all over the middle seat of the airplane, not winning me any friends with the flight attendants. Sorry Southwest -- blame the French Meadow Bakers. Finally, if I were French I would be highly offended this "restaurant" uses the "French" in its name. I would start a campaign to change the name of restaurant to something less offensive to french culinary sensibilities.

Ordered, or thought I did, stood for 10 minutes until I asked where my food was and they said I never ordered, you have to go to cashier and pay... Don't just tell the lady making the food your order. Wife ordered a ham and cheese sandwich, 10.60$. A little pricey for a ham and cheese. Then they put wasabi mayonnaise on it... Never asked for that, wasted 10.60$ ham and cheese sandwich. Never again.

Stopped by to grab a quick breakfast at the airport. Service was awful. The girl at the register told me the eggs would be freshly scrambled, but I was given a thawed, pre-cooked egg patty. When I told them about the error they shrugged and gave a half hearted "sorry". The meal went directly in the trash with no refund. Worst breakfast place I have been to on the road.

This spot is a nice option if you're boarding out of of Concourse C at General Mitchell. It's all breakfast-y/bakery/fruit and smoothies, coffee, and juices to-go. They also do sandwiches, wraps, and soup, (etc). Snag something from the bakery case, or having them make something for you! Seems there's an emphasis on organic ingredients, and while you can certainly grab not-so-healthy options, no burgers, pizza, fries, or the like to be found here, folks! (Head to Chili's Too for that... or maybe don't. Your call, I guess.) The baked oatmeal looked awesome, but I ended up just snagging some fruit and some tea to-go. Pretty solid if you're rocking Concourse C!

My first thought while walking into the restaurant was 'where the hell do I go to order?' The signage is confusing and there is only one sign that says cashier. They serve the food in the middle of the counter, over the glass, so you have to interject yourself into the line, if everyone there has figured out where the line is. Customer service is non-existent. I've sat here for over 20 minutes now and the only thing I've heard is the mindless gossip behind the counter. These are airport employees for sure. I haven't heard so much as a good morning or seen a smile. Patrons trying to buy food stand around looking dazed and nobody offers to help. There is a seat in the dining room that appears reserved for employees to sit and stare at their phones, when they could be well served elsewhere. They fall well below the McDonalds level of customer service, and that's not saying much. To the food. My $9 breakfast plate included two eggs (I had mine over hard) toast 2 strips of bacon and hash browns. The eggs were cooked fine, the bacon was very tasty. The toast was more like a slice of brown round loaf bread, and was alright other than being under toasted. The hash browns had obviously been served with an scooper, there were no crispy parts at all, and were topped with cheddar cheese and chives. They taste alright but execution could have been much better. The worst part by far about the food is they don't have hot sauce! They serve breakfasts with eggs and hash browns, they serve breakfast burritos, and the food could use it. If I had known I would have skipped this place altogether. Sadly you are a captive audience in the airport and everything about this 'bakery' makes that obvious. Next time I fly out of C concourse, I will be dining elsewhere.

Service: Good but not sure if the workers were trained with what gluten free meant. So the one star goes to the supervisors training of the manager, not the workers. My partner asked them what was gluten free and they said that ALL the wraps were GF. I beg to differ, simply b/c the labeling was kinda sketch. The labeling said the wrap was whole grain. For a GF person... whole grain usually means wheat and other grains. Food: Meh. Took a bite of the "gluten free whole grain turkey and bacon wrap" and decided not to take another bite. It tasted like a tortilla. Needless to say, all the symptoms I experience when eating gluten showed up. Was hopeful but... will pack my own lunch next time. I dislike leaving 1 star reviews so sorry!

Concourse C lacks in food options. Would recommend to avoid French Meadow. Have eaten there a few times now... Lats time was this Tuesday. Service is terrible. Cashier leaned on cash register entire time I wa sthere and not once greeted any of the patrons with a hello. Took over 15 minutes to get a grilled chicken and goat cheese sandwhich. Steve's review about a $9 sandwich is spot on as it is in an airport. I too couldn;t taste the cheese and after a 15 minute the food was still cold. Teh lettuce was brown and wilted. Needless to say I will either eat before I come to MKE or eat at my connection...

About average airport food - we had a bacon, egg & cheese croissant which also had spinach and tomato. I'm a fan of spinach and tomato but my wife is not so I would have preferred to have the ingredients listed on menu board. Waited just a few minutes and it was served hot, albeit a bit expensive for this considering that this is Milwaukee not New York or Atlanta. Croissant itself was a bit mushy and not that great.

Awful. In a rush to grab some breakfast before my flight so I stopped in for a egg & cheese croissant with OJ. Spent $15 and received a burnt stale sandwich with a Naked Juice. If time would've allowed I would have gone back to get another but that just didn't work. Will be sure to never come here again.

Seeing some of the reviews and how terrible they are, I must say that moldy food is grounds for food arrest! But, the options here really are decent IF you're smart about what you order knowing these types of places. Egg Sandwich -- take a close look. Really yellow? Really rubbery? Sitting in the counter looking like a perfect 90 degree angled square? People: It's not real egg. Don't do it. And you're just going to have to figure that out. If more people thought about what they are eating at airports (and everywhere!) had standards this shit would never fly in the first place. Options - they can make it while you wait or you can buy premade crap sitting in the lukewarm cooler. Think about this ...... (trust me I almost did it, but ... then I thought) I ordered a turkey, swiss, spinach sandwich but on a croissant (which is normally on ciabbatta) and she made it there because there wasn't one sitting around already. No mold for me - thanks! The vegan black bean chili was more like veggie soup and really didn't have many black beans, but hey - it was pretty good and probably a lot better than some other choices.

Perhaps it is due to unhappiness at working on Labor Day, but I have rarely encountered such rude uncaring service. The line cook was rude and just grunted and pointed at customers who were trying to order. This is how I figured out that you need to order from the cashier. I ordered and paid for a bagel with ham and swiss. Inside the case it looked good and fresh and was busting with meat and cheese. The cashier charged me $2.99 for it. Then I began to worry that I might get a plain bagel for that price. So I again noted that I ordered a bagel with ham and swiss. She said she knew that and seemed fairly snippy about it. I placed my order and paid at 8:54am. At 9:08 am still nothing. (A large stack of these bagels were fully prepared staring back at me from the case.) Several people were ahead of me and no progress was being made. One person was puttering around behind the counter and did not seem to be helping anyone so I asked to please speak to the manager. She said "he's not here." I then asked her for her name. She said "Why you need my name?" I said that I would really like someone to grab my bagel for me before my flight leaves. What is your name please? She said I did not need her name but the manager's name was Gregg. She then asked me what my order number was and I gave the number to her. She looked up at me with a rude look and said "Plain Bagels are self serve." At this point the cashier grabbed a warm bagel wrapped in foil that had been sitting on the counter and handed it over the counter. Weird. This place is seriously lacking in management and customer service skills. Do not order anything complex and expect to catch a flight unless you have at least 30 minutes to wait.

As the name suggests, this place offers a wide range of baked goods like muffins and croissants, along with sandwiches, soups, breakfast and more. The bakery and cafe makes its own croissants and cookies. French Meadows also offers a variety of vegan, organic and gluten-free options. The Rhubarb and Raspberry Tart was quite tasty, but not worth the $4.23 that I paid after tax. The prices seem a little steep for some items, but then again...of course there's going to be an airport markup. It's nice to have this restaurant option and ultimately, I'm willing to pay a little more for something other than fast food in an airport.

Meh. Nine bucks for a sandwich: naturally, because it's in an airport. But when it's billed as Chicken and Goat Cheese I expect to taste goat cheese. It wasn't my first choice: I wanted the breakfast burrito but they stop serving breakfast at ten AM local time. This, an international airport! Maybe they have one flight a day to Canada to earn that distinction. My wife got the vegan chili which was quite good and wholesome. So, your mileage may vary.

Airport food is kinda like hospital food, it usually leaves you wishing for something else and is double what you'd pay for it on the outside. Once inside the security check point, Concourse C doesn't offer many options for a hot, solid meal. It's either Chili's Too or the French Meadow Bakery. What I would have really wanted was that North Point Custard located in the main terminal, but no way was that going to be worth another security pat down. French Meadow has bagels, scones, muffins, bakery treats (cookies, brownies), sandwiches, salads and some breakfast fare meals. All the "meal" items start around $9 and goes up from there. Now I wasn't too concerned about the cost of my breakfast, because good ol' Air Tran F'd up and delayed me a few hours. So this breakfast was on them. But without that voucher...I may have picked up just a bagel. Airport food isn't worth that kind of $ and I would prefer to eat anywhere else. I went with a breakfast burrito: egg, cheese, potato, wrapped in an organic* tortilla (so fancy for an airport) and grilled, then topped with a little of their vegetarian bean chili. To be completely honest, it was some of the better airport food I've had. The burrito was big, fully satisfying, fresh and I loved the chili topping. But it was quite the ordeal trying to eat it with those plastic forks and knives...the tortilla was tough from being cooked. I was doing a better job cutting up my foam plate with the utensils than I was cutting my food.

The vegetarian sandwich is a fallacy, it lacked vegetables. It is loaded with cheese, which is fine, but almost completely lacked the veggies it's supposed to have. Three little spindly spinach leaves, two little one inch square chunks of roasted roma tomato, and one dime size chunk of onion. The tomato had awesome flavor, just totally lacked in quantity. The ciabatta bread much more closely plain french bread. I like their offerings of natural sodas and whole grain chips, and that the breads are made from organic flour, but when the main course is totally disappointing, the rest barely matters.

First off, I wanted a sandwich, however, the grill was out of order, so the lady told me to order something else. I ordered a cobb salad with bacon, blue cheese, and dressing. I had a couple bites on the plane, and ended up tossing it. It didn't taste fresh, and this reminds me of salad that's been sitting there for a while...

When you walk in, there are hot and friendly guys making sandwiches, and taking your sandwich order. I should have ordered a sandwich. But, I just wanted a cup of soup to hold me over until I got to O'Hare. The soup ordering and receiving service wasn't warm and fuzzy, but my chicken wild rice soup was pretty good. I had a table near the concourse, and I could Yelp and see my gate. The plane wasn't supposed to board for an hour, but I looked over and saw people boarding. I went to the gate and the agent said that everyone was here( Yeah, now!), so we were leaving early. OK, see you later French Meadow!

One of the better places to eat out of the few choices in Concourse C, but it is pricey. Try the turkey & bacon croissant with salad, it costs $9.99 but tastes very good!
