So yummy! A little hole in the wall place that's pretty tiny, but the food was great! Our waitress was pleasant and always there if we needed anything. The Camarones al diabla were so delicious, just the perfect amount of spice (not as spicy as camarones al árbol). My boyfriend enjoyed his chimichanga as well. We'll be back for sure!

This place is awesome! The location on 60th and Burnham is the first Buenavista restaurant to open, so I had to check if this location is just as good. And it is!! Our whole party left satisfied. Prices are right for the servings, and they have delicious Micheladas. The location has parking and inside has ample space, it's bigger than the original location. If you want authentic Mexican food, go here! If you want friendly service, go here! This is a must check out place if you want to eat good :) We love it, can't wait to go back!

After reading the reviews online about this restaurant, my wife and I decided to give a try. We are always looking for some "mom and pop" places. We are tired of the same old plain Jane boring food restaurants that are all arond town. This place had a very simple menu. The food was very good. Not too spicy. Just the right amount of flavor. The portions are BIG. I had a shredded beef burrito and my wife had chicken enchiladas that she said were delicious. The salsa and chips were excellent. The two meals and two cokes was $20. We will definitely be going back. Very willing to try something else. The restaurant is very clean. The server was very nice. She gave us the backround on the three or four restaurants that her family runs around town. Give this place a try.

If it's seriously good Mexican food you're after- come here. We love the tacos al pastor, and everything else we have had has been delicious, too. The staff is super friendly and happy to make your meal the way you want it. Because we've got three babies at home, we usually do pick up- the one time I had to wait a little longer than usual, they gave me a free soda! Thanks :)

Super tasty! I had the steaks tacos and they were great. Everyone in my group was satisfied. Small but clean. Will return again to try the margaritas!

The big brother of the Taqueria Buenavista on 60th and Burnham (and the food truck), this is a full service restaurant with full bar coming Nov. 5th. The experience is much the same: a little divey but clean, small dining area, friendly service, and awesomesauce food. The menu is relatively small, at least compared to some 5th and National spots, but everything we've had is great. Tacos are the go-to, with doubled corn tortillas that are always fresh. Chorizo, lengua and al pastor are the highlights. There's also sopes, huraches, enchiladas, steak in various salsas, plus a ton of shrimp dishes. Shrimp in a chile de arbol sauce was fantastic and nice and hot, with just enough grease to make it rich. It's garnished with a nice little salad and avocado slices, plus a couple big fat lime wedges. The plating is very nice, and you can tell the kitchen cares. There were at least 6 corn tortillas on the side, a generous order for sopping up the sauce. You can't go wrong with their salsas either, but especially the grandma sauce in the red bottle. It's creamy, green, and varies in heat from pleasantly piquant to OMG from batch to batch. Protip: douse your rice with it. (Though, the rice doesn't really need much help; both it and the beans are fantastic versions.) If you like the truck or the other location, go here. If you've never been to the other one, go here anyway. Yum.

Dropped in for the first time on Cinco de Mayo and to our amazement the place was fairly low key. The drinks were phenomenal (try the cucumber drink) and the food, all I can say is wow! We both had camerone (shrimp) dishes and they were delicious. Definitely found a new favorite and will be returning again and again, but will make a point to update this review with pics then.

This was today's lunch spot and not a lot of reviews but all good ones. Parking is limited on the street and the lot in the back was not clear which business it belongs to because it's behind the business next to them. I didn't want to get towed so I parked on the street. The place looks small and it is. You walk in and to your left is a bar and on the right is booths on the outer wall and a few tables before your in the bar, it's small. The woman working the bar and everything was not very friendly and didn't acknowledge me at all. She was busy so I'm going to over look that. Thankfully a new server came on line and he was super friendly and paid great attention to the customers. The place had three small tables open only so I sat at the bar. The bar was ok and nothing fancy but not dumpy and strange large home locks on the lower cabinet doors. I started with a blended lime margarita while looking at the limited menu and there was no combo plate, dam. I was going to get a burrito at this point. The friendly server came to take my order and he threw me a curve ball and said I could create any combo plate I wanted, he is reading my mind. Perfect so I had a ground beef enchilada, steak corn taco and a steak chimichanga which comes beans and rice. See my pictures. First off I just started drinking margaritas so I am no expert but I did like frozen blended drink I had, it was not syrupy sweet like I see some complain about. The chips and salsa were good and for once I couldn't stop eating them. The salsa was not your norm red but a brown chunky that I kept wanting more with some heat. I used it in the meal also. My combo plate came and then a separate dish with the rice and beans, the whole bar was covered with food as my picture will show. They are not skimpy on the food at all and it was very generous. I liked everything and the do season the food so it's not bland at all. I started with the beans and rice and I am starting to come around to that orange rice because I ate it. I like the beans and they give nice heaping of it. The ground beef enchilada was very cheesy and very meaty in a red sauce. The steak taco had seasons steak and it was tasty, over stuffed and the filling fell out. The chimichanga never made it to my mouth because I was stuffed but I feel it will be just as good. The friendly server asked how the food was and I said it was good but too much and he stated that's how we do it here and that's a good problem to have. My experience started to look like it was not going to be good but the second server saved the day and he shook my hand and thanked me for stopping by and asked me to come again as I left. Over all I had a great time with lunch and my total was $14.45 with a drink, what a deal and see my picture. This review could have much been different if the friendly server came an hour later, perfect timing. Bang for the buck vs dining experience earns them 5 stars.

I heard about Buena Vista on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Great reviews. It was nothing to look at but the service and food was excellent. Pint sized margaritas and salsa with some zing! Hispanic music videos playing. Very low key. Its going to be a problem since it is within walking distance . We will be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
