There people complaining about price, but I think that's because we have a horrible culture of $5 meals and cheap beers in Milwaukee. With that, the food was great! Their meats are from clean animals (cage fed & antibiotic free), their seasoning is tasty without being overwhelming, and they have a couple tasty Sake options. On top of that, they give you your choice of delicious truffles for desert. It's unfortunate that people used price (and it isn't THAT expensive) to rate this restaurant and not food quality, aesthetics, and customer service which are all up to my standards. Will definitely come again!

Have to admit, arrived feeling hopeful with low expectations (due to previous reviews). It was excellent. Waitstaff was attentive, friendly and provided knowledgeable rec's. Had spring rolls with grass-fed beef (hello..how many places in Milw provide GFB); Orange chicken (lightly fried and sauce was light with a hint of sweetness, not overpowering with fake sugar like most); and lastly the Red Curry with chicken. The curry bowl was heaping and sorry, Thainamite, but they added real pineapple and it is waaay better. Side of brown rice was more than average restaurants serve and was perfect amount. Atmosphere is a lot of red but clean and neat. Even the bathroom was better than average. I will def come back again. It's nice to have a restaurant fighting for quality and not sacrificing for cost just to keep customers. For cheapsters, you can go to restaurant.com for a discounted gift certificate for this place, if they are still available. Give it a try!

Red curry with tofu ($12): The curry sauce was nice, with some heat to it. The veggies were carrots, bamboo shoots, and red and green peppers. I loved the way the tofu was cooked- it seemed like it was lightly fried first and therefore had a bit of a texture on the outside while staying creamy on the inside. The peppers, unfortunately, were undercooked. Buddha burger ($10): my boyfriend works in the area and this dish has become a go-to for him and his co-workers. The French fries were cooked to perfection! The atmosphere is cool on the inside, though the restaurant itself is on a pretty quiet end of North Ave. Seriously though, it's walking distance from the corner of North Ave and Oakland, so there are plenty of things to do after dinner. This restaurant is located in an area populated with college kids, dive bars (some with very good food), and fast food joints, and I believe that being surrounded by this will be the biggest challenge to this place.

They sent flyers to my apartment yesterday and it sounded like a good idea to order in. The online ordering was pretty easy and everything on the website looked very tasty. I ordered the Buddha Bowl (large w/beef, $16) and my gf ordered the Pad Thai w/chicken, $15. The food arrived just a few minutes later than expected and we were hungry so we dug in. My dish consisted of dry, overcooked (slightly tough) slices of beef that only tasted of onions, rice noodles (no flavoring), lettuce (a lot of lettuce), and a cup of a sauce that I was supposed to pour over my meal for flavor though the sauce had no flavor other than sweet. Basically sugar syrup. I ate the beef and unflavored rice noodles to get full. I asked my gf how her Pad Thai was and then tried it. The noodles were rubbery but the taste was ok (at least her meal had some flavor). One would think that for $15 they could be sure that the Pad Thai that cost them $3 to make would be made correctly. Or that my $16 meal could have flavor... Needless to say we will never order from them again which is sad because the concept of a multi-cultural Asian restaurant (that delivers) is fantastic. Maybe their Pho is good but for $16 you can buy two bowls of decent Pho at most other places. I gave them 1 star because while it is convenient the price is very high, especially for the cafeteria-style food they serve and I do not think that anybody could find satisfaction with both the price and content of their meal.

First time visit: I ordered the banh mi with pork. It came with a side of seasoned fries (not noted on the menu). Fries were good - and the banh mi was quite tasty. (Note: For those complaining about the price: everything's 20% off during lunch.) I would have liked a little more meat, to balance out the pillowy and quite tasty bread, but it was still probably the second-best banh mi I've had in town. So why a two-star rating? Because they had the air-conditioning CRANKED to ridiculous levels. It was a pleasant day - upper 60s at the time, not too warm - but the thermostat in the hallway between the front and back spaces was set at 67 degrees! Sixty-seven?!? That's insane. And this was after I'd told the server it was a bit chilly, and he said he'd moderated the a/c a bit. Get this food to go, unless you enjoy eating your meals in a walk-in cooler. Sorry - a/c set to lower than about 75 or so is ridiculous. If your silverware is cold to the touch...it's too cold.

I really wanted to like this restaurant because it's really close to my house and I love pad thai. I ordered delivery, which was very quick but the pad thai was $15!!!! That's crazy because the noodles cost like $1, and the chicken was poor quality. The dish was almost flavorless and not good!

We went here after a Bucks game to grab a bite to eat and check out a new spot. The prices were very surprising. $15 for pud Thai, $16 for a California roll, $8 for 6 chicken nuggets...???! You can call me cheap (trust me, I've been called worse), but if you look at my review history price is not usually a factor when I eat somewhere. It's the value, and when I see street noodles for $15, I'm out. We didn't even stay to eat, so I am giving this 2 stars to be fair. It takes a lot for me to walk out of a place, but this just did it for me.

So very bad. If you do end up here by the love of god do not order the sushi of any kind as well as the Chinese courses. I ordered a little of everything and everything was awful. Best part was free delivery.

The husband and I decided to order in one night, and decided that Buddha Lounge was worth trying out. I ordered laab and shrimp spring rolls. The laab was good, until the spice hit me. The beef was absolutely coated in black pepper. I'm not typically one to flinch at heat, but this wasn't really a problem of heat, or at least that wasn't the main issue. The black pepper flavor overwhelmed everything very quickly. I considered trying to somehow rinse the pepper off in the sink, and ultimately just tossed the whole thing mostly uneaten. I normally adore laab, but this was inedible. The shrimp spring rolls were at least edible, but they were incredibly bland. The filling was 90% rice noodles and lettuce, with very little shrimp. I actually didn't taste any cilantro at all, so I'm dubious of the content of the rolls. The dipping sauce was fine, but obviously the rolls need more than sauce to be a quality product. I don't recall what my husband had, but at the time he said his meal was fine, if not particularly outstanding. He's also considerably less picky than I am, though, so the vast majority of food he eats gets a pass as "okay". Not really a ringing endorsement. I'll consider giving this place another shot, but my first impression is not a good one.

I came here with my husband on a resteraunt.com discount. Like usual for resteraunt.com resteraunts, they are grasping at straws. The theme and concept are cool, but the execution is lacking. First it is weird to have a nice big doorway facing the street, with a giant cool looking Buddha, then a small tacky sign telling us to go around to the back door. We were seated in the area near the front door, on the right side. There was a very large group on this side, and two other couples, and nobody on the other side, this is a small space, I don't know why we all had to be crammed next to each other, I could hear everything my side-table-mates said, with the whole other side open. The food was very underwhelming, we ordered a few plates of appetizers for our dinner, nothing wowed us at all. We decided we were very thankful we had the discount from resteraunt.com , otherwise we would have been highly disappointed in paying the full bill. We will be sticking to the many other, better Asian restaurants in the area. Oh, and the tables are really cool, but covered up with a table cloth, why spend all that money on cool tables to just cover them up?

Love the decor of the place! The employees were nice but the waiting time was horrible.. We were a party of 5 adults and 2 kids; we waited for about 5 minutes just to be seated (the place was empty except for a couple sitting in the corner) then we waited for 45 minutes just for our food!! More people came in after us and they got their food before us. The drinks were also flat so we just stuck with water. The food was alright. Kinda pricey but great for college kids since they're right next door. No military discount offered here.

$16 for a bowl of Pho? Are you kidding me? And the rest of the prices are just as bad. Just to add some context. Here is the highest rated Pho place in NYC. Arguably, one of the most expensive cities to live in. yelp.com/menu/saigon-sha… How much is a bowl of Pho at Saigon Shack? $8. How about in Chicago? $9 yelp.com/biz/tank-noodle… If you want good Vietnamese food from people that aren't trying to rob you... then check out these other places. yelp.com/biz/pho-viet-mi… yelp.com/biz/vientiane-n… yelp.com/biz/pho-hai-tuy… yelp.com/biz/phans-garde… If you pay more than $9-$10 for a bowl of Pho then you might want to get your head examined.

I walked in and the atmosphere was nice. Clean, and fresh looking.. I was craving pad thai and I order a bubble tea along with it. Overall the staff was friendly. The food bland until I sprinkled the lime over it, then they favors really started to come out - yet still a little on the bland side. The bubble tea, tasted like bubble tea. :) Since they are a little newer I'll check back in 6 months to see if they have stepped their spice game up. It should also be stated that I just had thai food in New York, so they had a lot to live up to.

I won't be complaining about the price as the reviews did before me, because I think most readers get it. It's pricey, but if you're into food, this is a place to try. The Crab Rangoon were really light and crispy. The thought that there might not be enough cream cheese inside passed through my head, but then I remembered that I'm a fat american and probably shouldn't be eating that much cream cheese in the first place. But really, I usually end up taking out a lot of filling in normal Rangoon, so I appreciated the lightness of these little guys. The Buddha Bowl was fantastic and HUGE. The protein included are shrimp, which were deliciously grilled, and pepper-seasoned steak. The bowl is filled with cool (like the temperature) noodles, vegetables, and lettuce which make for a light dish despite its size. If you're into spice, ask for an order of the hot oil to add some kick and flavor. The little spring roll that's included in the bowl was on point and gave the meal an extra crunch. There was so much food I had dinner for the next night, too. Readers be warned: they give you mini bowl of fish sauce to add to the noodles. I like fish sauce, but if you don't, you won't be missing much if you don't add it. The boy ordered the pad thai, which is the reason I'm giving the Buddha Lounge three stars instead of four. I really disliked the Pad Thai at Umami Moto, and this pad thai was similar to that. I didn't try the chicken, so I can't comment on that, however, if you like a more sour sauce on your noodles, then this plate might be for you. The SO liked it enough, but even he wasn't quite sold on it. I wouldn't not come here again, especially for that amazing Buddha Bowl and I definitely wouldn't discourage anyone from at least trying it.

My wife and I were excited to give Buddha Lounge a try. We live in the zone, and LOVE Asian food. Tired of our leftovers for 2 nights in a row, we called BL for delivery. The person that answered was friendly and helpful. Our food was delivered in a reasonable time. Excited, we pulled our two dishes out on our dining room table; the standard Pad Thai ($15.00) and the Vietnamese Budda Bowl ($16.00). As we both began to load our plate with each dish, I had my first "ah man" moment that this food wasn't going to meet our expectation. It was like that blind date that you had high hopes to meet; great personality and funny over the phone, but the total opposite of what you'd hoped for when you meet. With the visually unappealing food on our plate, we tried the Pad Thai first. Bland, flavorless and boring; the chicken was rubbery like it was microwaved. If I paid $2.99 for a frozen Pad Thai meal like this at Walmart, I'd feel I got what I paid for, but we paid $15.00 for this dish. Ugh! The Budda Bowl at least provided some sort of flavor profile. The pork had a smokey grill flavor and the rice noodles were sticky and fresh tasting. The ONE token shrimp was damn tasty! The Budda Bowl was so much better than the Pad Thai disaster, but still just average for $16 bones. We were so disappointed over our meal. We REALLY wanted to love this place, and embrace it as our treasured neighborhood joint. Unfortunately, it was sooo mediocre. 3/4's of our $36.00 investment went in the trash. Still hungry, I nuked the remaining old school leftovers out of the fridge for the third night in a row. I'll try you guys again in three months. PLEASE work on your quality. I WANT TO GIVE YOU OUR MONEY!!!

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city.
