Wanted to update my last review, since my friend met her fiance here 6 years ago and we just celebrated her bachelorette party there last Thursday. For $50 they had a cute table set up for us, a bottle of champagne, a personal waitress, and while I'm not sure what the special was generally that night, everybody in the bridal party got free taps/rails/smirnoff drinks, and the bride got to drink whatever she wanted for free. People didn't really start showing up to the bar until around 11 so it was pretty quiet there in the interim. We had a great night, tho. Is spending the $50 worth it? Maybe. The decorations were cute (will be under the Bride-to-be's name, not whoever booked it)! That was probably the most worthwhile thing. The champagne was nice but with so much other free booze not 100% necessary. I didn't think the waitress was necessary, either - other than her bringing us our champagne, she wasn't really present the rest of the eve. This was fine, since we weren't expecting a waitress, but she introduced herself as the one to "take care of us for the evening" so the fact that she then disappeared was kind of odd. Would this be a typically good bachelorette party pick? If the bar's already your scene, perhaps. But we were working with nostalgia, and while a flock of near-30-year-olds was a little old for the scene, it was still a really fun evening.

The music drew my BF and I into Buckhead this past Saturday evening, and we (okay - not me) were more than willing to pay the $5 cover to find out what was inside. I'm not sure why this place isn't rated higher, except maybe it is just a difference between Chicago and Milwaukee. The music was loud, but the band that was playing was great. There are a lot of tables to sit at and a large dance floor area. I found the whole place very clean and nice despite being a late night spot. If the Saturday night bands are as good as this past Saturday and I lived in Milwaukee, I would likely be a regular.

Not a fan of this place. Atmosphere is kind of interesting in a rustic lodge sort of way. Lots of college kids here and everyone in my group kind of got that "douchebag" type of vibe in here. Bathrooms were disgustingly dirty. Staff was decent but not over the top either. Milwaukee has some awesome places to go out, try those before hitting up this place. I won't be back.

Apparently there are spots in the middle of this establishment that are closed on a Saturday night. Was literally just asked to leave a barstool because "this section is closed" while with a group of 16 people. We are all leaving, music is good but we didn't pay a cover to be kicked off barstools at 11:00p on a Saturday night. Also, bathrooms are gross.

So i went here when i was 21 came back few years later for a bachelorette party and guess what? The live band was playing the exact same Tom Petty songs. Lol and when i went in March they were rationing toilet paper in the womens room. I wasn't aware of this and wondered why there was no tp in my stall..twice. My sister ended up telling me that the bathroom attendant had to give you a few pieces. One more thing to detest this place. Drinks are decent hence the 2 stars.

I have to give buckheads no stars. The drinks have no alcohol in them, and you have to pay a cover to get into the bar. My boyfriend got denied because they said his Id was fake and we waited 30 min for cops to show up to verify the Id. It is his actual Id and he is above 21. No cops came, I don't think they ever did call cops but the bouncers were not only rude to us but didn't even look at other peoples Ids that were expired and paper ids work but real Ids don't.

Came here for a friend's birthday. Cheap drinks, mediocre music/dj but still had a good time.

I came here after Lucille's with my sister for her bachelorette party. They played really fun music, weren't crazy crowded and had fun people there. We had a great time. What makes me give this place 5 stars is after a full day and night of drinking heavily the women I was with were really struggling. I went to the bar and asked for a pitcher of water and glasses. The bartender happily provided it without a dirty look or anything. Let me tell you how rare that is in Chicago (1 more win for Wisconsin) so big points in my book. Thanks for making my sister's night fun and for keeping her friends from vomiting!

I use to go here a lot through out the years but it was a little hectic at times with the crowd. I do think it is one of the best locally-owned places to have a party. I have rented out their cabin-themed tables before and the staff is great and accommodating. They have a great selection of bottle service options you can choose from. This is a place you can definitely let loose for a night! They play a great selection of music from current hits, 80s, country, to pop songs (that you know and secretly love), it's always a memorable experience. I love going here for girls nights, bachelorette parties or just a night on the town. The bartenders really handle the crows well, but at night it gets packed! One of the benefits is that you can enter in every time you go to win a keg party---A LOT of fun! Feel free to dance, dance, and get crazy here!

Staff lost a debit card and Id. Charged the card $70 excess. Rude to patron who was the victim. Cards were found on floor!!!! Patron had to replace cards at their own expense on top of it. Great way to do business !!

Come on Thursday, Come smashed already, or probably don't come at all! To start, if you're going to come here, you need to come on Thursdays when it's Ladies Night and guys can avoid a cover before 10pm. The drinks cost MUCH less as well, including $10 70 oz. beer tubes and $2 miller bottles. It sure beats the $4 bottles and $7 mixers on the weekend. I rarely ever come here unless it is a Thursday because well, I'm a cheap drunk for one. Second, there is a beer pong tournament every Thursday. And lastly, there isn't some crumby old cover band singing classic rock on Thursday nights, which Buckheads loves to shove out there EVERY Friday and Saturday for some reason. Thursdays they always have some DJ spinning some beats and current Top 40 / Dance songs which really makes the dance floor more appealing. At least to me it does. As the previous reviews state, its a cabin-themed bar that is much bigger on the inside than you would expect from the outside. The crowd here is sometimes kind of sketch as well. When you're shaking your you-know-what out on the dance floor, there tends to be a lot of random dudes basically creeping on the few attractive girls that are usually dancing. Doesn't bother me too much, it's just kind of weird. Might be a simple numbers game with there being wayyyy more guys than girls there. So if you're a guy, be ready for some competition.... unless you're willing to lower your standards because then you will have no problem probably finding something. So if you want to get buck, come down to Buckhead's for some interesting sights and nights!

This place is awesome! It is so huge and on a Saturday night, the place was packed with tons of great good looking young people. Was with a group of guys on a bachelor party evening and we had SUCH a great time. Drinks were well priced. Easy to get a drink. Easy to get several drinks...I can attest.

BEST BAR EVER. I will elaborate: I am from NYC and I lived in Milwaukee for six months... the Midwest started to grow dull to me, but Buckheads definitely did not. When I first entered this bar & saw the animal heads on the wall with thongs hanging off them, in addition to hearing the live band playing 80s & 90s music, I couldn't decide if this place was being ironic and kitschy or if it was the real deal. After coming hear basically every Friday for six months straight, I decided it's the real deal. It's super cheap, and the band on Friday nights (most Fridays at least) is AWESOME!! They play Journey, Matt Nathanson, The Outfield... all that fun stuff. They made a cover of "Don't Stop Believin'" last for TEN WHOLE MINUTES one night... I was beyond thrilled. Such fun music to dance to. Also, always always enter to win a happy hour near the entrance... you'll win one every time! When you win a happy hour, you basically get free entry and $2 drinks for a few hours during the night... awesome! (sidenote: if you are coming with a big group, call them beforehand and ask for free cover... sometimes they'll do it!) This is one of the 4 things I miss most about Milwaukee!

LOVED THIS PLACE!!! Went with a few guy friends after some bar hopping. Found this place on Yelp while looking for somewhere we could dance and act stupid. We all had a great time!! The DJ was great and played a constant mix of songs everyone could sing along with. From current hits, to 80s, to country, to pop songs you don't want to admit you actually love! The decor is not what I expected...very cabin/lodge like with taxidermy animals on the wall. Definitely makes it memorable though. I will for sure stop here again next time my friends and I road trip to Milwaukee!

Good deals on weekends. Almost always packed with college age kids with the corny music to go with it. Live bands are pretty bad but they're better than the DJ's. Overall atmosphere is fun and lively. If you stop in, ask for the bartender Casey if he's working. Best guy on the staff. Funny, friendly, and knows his booze.

A $10 cover? In Milwaukee? Come on.. I do like the northwoods (and the Leinie's) theme but, it's a little too much of a meat market scene for me.

  • Miranda O.

I don't know why this place isn't rated higher. I think it's awesome. Its definitely more of a high energy bar so if you want to go out and just chill, this probably isn't the bar for you. The music is fun, the dance floor is spacious and not full of creepers, and there is space to get away from the music and hang out with friends. Bonus: the bartenders were really friendly and generous with the drinks. I've been to quite a few bars in Milwaukee and this is by far my favorite.

  • Meena V.

So the spectrum of things that are actually good to things that are shitty correlates to ratings like so: 555-444-333-222-111-5 -- where that last 5 is for things that are so absurdly awful, that they deliver instead in COMIC VALUE and SHOCK POTENTIAL that things can actually be that shitty. Ladies and gentlemen, Buckhead's Saloon gets that 5. List of things I've seen here: - about 10 bachelorette parties total - about 5 bachelorette parties with light up penis headbands - about 5 bachelorette parrties with light up penis necklaces - about 10 people get into fights and escorted (carried) out by bouncers - about 4 grandmother-granddaughter combos dancing (this, I have to say, falls under actually awesome) - 2 grandmothers get disgusting mixed shots poured in their mouths by a trashy bartender holding them from behind - 1 grandmother get picked up and removed from dancing on the stage because she was too drunk and unstable And my absolute FAVOURITE thing I've ever seen out: A DANCING BEAR!!!!! (Of note is the fact that this is a hunting lodge themed drinking/ dancing establishment. Yeah.) I have also recieved numerous awful free drinks, and a pair of flip flops here. Make what you will, no more I can say.

I have a hard time finding the words to express just how terrible this place is. It may be the worst establishment - nay, the worst PLACE that I have ever been in - or even near. Nonetheless, in an effort to spare others the horrors I witnessed here, I offer this review. The last time I was here - which cost five dollars and will assuredly be the last time I am ever here - they paused the goofy self-promoting slideshow running on all the TVs in the place and replaced it with the message "WE NEED LADIES ON THE STAGE" while the DJ loudly yelled the same thing. The stage filled up with screaming girls while one of the staff ran around pouring shots of some bright blue, presumably alcoholic, and almost certainly unreasonably foul liquid into girls' mouths. (If you think that that sounds really sweet, then we can't be friends.) A guy in a bear suit - think Chuck-E-Cheese's - then joined in, sloppily flailing around the stage while everyone danced awkwardly to the live band's bizarre country-ish covers of top 40 songs. I tried to drink the terror away but was foiled by the $6 stunningly weak rum-and-cokes. Not even the bartender girl dancing in an apathetic, I-was-paid-to-do-this way on top of a Leinenkugel's-labeled canoe could save the night. "You're not seeing the comic value," a friend told me, or perhaps, "you're just not drunk enough." I would put buckheads about on par with getting blackout drunk drinking a $7 handle of warm vodka while watching infomercials - sure you can do it ironically for a little bit, but when you look back on it the next morning, it's just sad and terrible -- and if you're doing it in earnest, well, you're probably beyond help.

Omg. I went here once for a friend's birthday because of the $1 drinks before 7 (everyone buys like 20 or 30 glasses and then hoards them all night), and I will never go back again! The music is a deafening blend of old and new - mostly old pop radio hits. The crowd is largely oddly dressed douchebags (i saw turtlenecks and not the sweater kind!) in khakis and popped collars. There is no ethnicity mix. And a great number of people here are very creepy looking guys standing around in backwards baseball caps paired with a sweater, awkwardly staring at girls, making fools of themselves on the dance floor...and packs of girls on "girls night" Lucky me, I was here on X-mas tree sweater night" apparently... There are also a decent number of 40 somethings that hang out in the corner at the first bar... The inside is what they must have decided a college fraternity in the south would look like. I wouldn't go here again even if it was FREE drinks night, but I guess, what can you really expect in Wisconsin? From now on I will go to the clubs and dive bars...the people are classier there!

Used to thoroughly enjoy this place, but it's gone downhill. Cover ranges between $5-$10, and cheapest domestic beers are now $3.75 (used to be $3). They charge significantly more on top of those prices if you use credit. Was there for a 'special event' recently, in which some MTV personality was there. They charged extra for cover, and blocked off the entire top bar. Hardly seemed worth it in my opinion... The environment is fun, but there's better and cheaper alternatives, such as Whiskey River across the street.

Buckheads is interesting. I've never gone here unless going to a friends "party." Yeah, they do this party thing here. It starts at 7 pm. You get dollar drinks from 7-9 pm. From 9-10 pm they go up to 2 dollars. I've gotten pretty trashed here every time I've set foot in the bar except once. The bar itself is gorgeous. Its really spacious with a front and back bar. It is huge. I really like the design too. I guess I go for that more rustic look. Staff is pretty good, though we tend to tip the price of a drink and drink a lot so by the end of the night we tend to have 2 or 3 bartenders bought with our tips. For most people, dollar drinks does not equal dollar tip per drink so the bartenders seem to appreciate it more. Bathrooms are a sticking point for me. Like another bar/club I go to occasionally they have bathroom attendants here. Why? For the love of god why? All they do is attempt to get me to wear their cheap knock off cologne (they never, ever have anything I'd wear in their "collection") and hand me paper towels. And for this you're supposed to tip them? It's annoying and classless. I'm fully capable of grabbing my own paper towel thank you very much. Yes, the people tend to be of the slightly slutty variety. This is not a always a bad thing. There also tends to be some pretty good looking women here. Also, not a bad thing. Diversity...well there isn't too much. It tends to be the younger set, mostly white and latino. Music wise, it starts off with one of the staff just playing music at the DJ booth. This is fine and good unless some jackass in the crowd request a New Kids on the Block song or other assorted shit. Cause he will play it! Remember that kids and slip the DJ a fiver to embarrass your friends. But later in the evening, when the bands go on......yeah..... they generally suck ass. But by this point I tend to be quite drunk so I ignore them anyway and concentrate on talking with my friends. And honestly, we leave by about 11 to go to greener pastures now that the special has ended. So, bottom line....if you can score a party from them (birthday or otherwise) by visiting their website, do it. If nothing else you'll get a hell of a good running start on your evening. Other than that, I do enjoy this bar but a lot of it is who I'm with since we always have fun.

This place is a great time and being from Milwaukee I normally insist my out of town friends at least check it out while visiting. I have always had fun here. Make sure to sign up to win a Buckhead's party which gives you even better specials like $1-3 drinks for your friends til 10 and $2 drinks for you all night long

This place is an awesome place to go to and get your groove on! They have some good drink specials and accommodate you well for a party or birthday. Cliental can get a little out-of-control but it is manageable. Short review here but it is just a place to dance and get drinks not much else to elaborate on aside from this place being ENORMOUS!

This bar has many high points but some people may see them as low. 1. Ten dollar cover, but you can get in free with a college ID or if you rsvp online or for your birthday or well pretty much anytime you want 2. Beautiful men and women every Saturday. So if you weren't endowed with the greatest body or face don't expect to be picked up in this place but at least your not getting hounded by that one guy who looks sleezy 3. Coat check. It may be a pain to retrieve later but its a great idea,no one wants to stand outside in the cold sans jacket because you don't want to have to carry it inside 3. Pricey mixed drinks. Again the way to get around this... host your own happy hour you get a significant amount off the drinks and free cover. 4. New Years party... I paid for this and it gets you into two bars free food and open bar for the first hour! The trick was getting in the doors in the first hour. Once inside I had three martinis and basically only a few bites to eat because the meathead guys crashed the table and just stood there loading their plates...real classy huh? Hey guys while you are over there stuffing your face you mind tossing me an olive?

Ok, I'm doing this review for "the team". And by that I mean all of my friends (I love you dearly) who drag me here time after time PROMISING me that after I stop complaining and just shut up I will have a really great time here, and I do. Thank you all. There is nothing else quite like this bar/club. It suits Milwaukee well, and here is why... Where else will you enter a place with wooden walls and floors (ok looks like Grandma's up north cottage) with several moose/deer/other wild life taxidermi-ed up animals, pictures everywhere of old men fishing or other outdoor-sy type activites, a live band that switches into club music (think JT Bringin Sexy Back), a dance floor surrounded by tables with buckets of peanuts on top (great for throwing into the crowd), couches by a fireplace, and an outdoor patio with a hot tub that we definately over flowed one night (to be modest). Whew. Well the drinks are cheap, the bartenders are my friends, and everyone ends up having a great time. I'm sold, and you will be too.

There comes a time in a young girl's life that she wants to go to Buckhead Saloon-- perhaps she's just turned 21 or maybe she's getting married. Either of these are acceptable reasons for getting out there and shaking it at Buckhead's. Otherwise, your motives are kinda suspect.

This is my go to place when I'm with a group of friends who want to dance and we don't want to play the "we can go to this bar, but the dancing won't start until 1:45 AM, or we can go here, but the music might suck, or we can go here and watch 40 year old secretaries get CRAY-ZAY" game. I went here Friday night and had probably the craziest night I've had in Milwaukee, ever. and I couldn't be happier about it. The $5 cover does suck, but, truthfully if we were in Chicago we would be paying $15+ for a place like this. How many other fun places are there in Milwaukee that have live music and a packed dance floor all night? I also think drinks are pretty reasonable. apple smirnoff/cran was $4.50. I was pretty impressed with how the bartender handled the belligerent guy next to me at the bar, too. Overall, I think Buckhead's is fun and I'm frankly quite surprised at how low the reviews on here are!

My tour of Milwaukee continues with Buckhead...wow. you know, as a single male thats traveled the the many states and cities and have met the hoochiest of girls and just dumbest and moronic of guys, who knew this would be their capital? its like hi tops on steriods in a cabin. its very big...very big, and offers live music. there's a cover..who knows why, its milwaukee...they should pay you to be there...but i guess if you want to take one of the creepy guys or hoochie girls home you should pay a fee. the bartenders...well, its a huge bar, there's not enough bartenders. they get busy rather quickly. at some point it gets crazu enough where hoochie guys and girls will sit on the bar, make out and drink right from the beer nozzle (im sorry Wez, i had to throw you under the bus). the band is the typical cover band, usually...not too good (unless its the Kingfish) not too bad...songs you can sing and dance to. and just like the typical drunken bar if youre a cute girl you can always come on stage and dance and sing with the band. or dance and fall...either one, you pick. there'ss enough hyped-up popped collar shirts and fraternity boys mixed with farmers to get into a scuffle if you're not careful, and if you need a babymama or looking to appear on maury that can also be taken care of. it really is a huge bar! you'll dance, you'll pee, you'll get your drinks eventually...

This place had some positives and negatives. On the positive side, there was a drink special that was $1 mixers. This was a good time as one of my friends had won a party. This deal was supposed to go until 12:30am. This is where the negative aspect came into play. At approximately 12:20 I purchased a drink and did not receive my deal. This was upsetting and I tried to speak with the bartender but he was rude and inconsiderate. If you come to this bar with a good group it is worth it. Otherwise, there are other bars in the area that are much better.

    (3)
  • Alyssa N.

The music is pretty terrible i must say; they DJ plays music that makes me feel like I am at a high school dance such as the Cupid shuffle...like every night. They have ladies night on Thursdays which is pretty nice. When they have events like bikini contests and what not it is a good time though. They have beer pong tables also if that interests you

    (4)
  • Sam H.

Never in my life has my ass been more grabbed by random girls then here... and not in a good way nor by girls that I would want to grab my ass. You get the picture. It is a fun dive bar for Thursdays though...

    (3)
  • Alex R.

Always a great spot when you want to just let loose and be a clown. Love to the beer pong Thursday! $10 and you are in. Bartenders work the bar, take care of you and make sure you are taken care of!

    (4)
  • Sadie T.

I can't say I've really experienced better... This is a college dance club. Pour Some Sugar on Me, Jessie's Girl, Brown Eyed Girl, and Sweet Home Alabama are the most popular songs. It is filled with college students during the academic year, and is a bit less packed during summer and winter breaks. There is always some broken glass on the floor, so be sure to wear closed shoes.

  • Dan V.

The only reason I gave this place two stars, was because the staff were excellent in serving me, but I didn't like this place for a number of reasons. Personally I don't like the atmosphere, mainly due to the clientele. The drinks I thought were reasonably price, but nothing really stands out to me about this place. I wouldn't go again.

  • Christine S.

Do you wanna dance with douchey 21 year olds? Ok, come here then! Best text ever... Stacy/Christine: Where are you? Ryan Seacrest: At Buckheads, come here! Stacy/Christine: Ok, we're here! Ryan Seacrest: I can't find you Stacy/Christine: we're under some antlers hahaha... Who the heck has antlers in a dance club? Classy!

    (3)
  • Corene P.

It was a free beer party! They did well. a lot 20somethings, Good music big place. Old log cabin feel

    (3)
  • Patrick D.

As the name would suggest animal heads are the theme here. If you have been to the Lodge in Minneapolis you will understand. I found the bartenders to be a bit clueless and they don't serve food at all. With all of that space you would think they could fit a dartboard somewhere. Nope. Not one. The only reason I am giving it three stars is because it does have a lot of space, which counts for something. It also has outdoor seating on the river.
