Very simple menu; remember this is a tacqueria. Food is great, selections are simple, but always look for any specials on the whiteboard. I love this place. Great food and great value.

Ehh.. I didn't eat here. We were going towards the closing time, only to have found that they accept only cash. None of us had cash, but we just went around the shop next door which they own and left.

Was traveling from Milwaukee to Green Bay and used Yelp to find this place. A true hole-in-the-wall that is attached to a Mexican grocery store. Husband was skeptical but when the guacamole came out, we felt like we were in his mom's kitchen. The chicken enchiladas were incredible and authentic. My husband got the mole and thought it was incredible. If you are adventurous, order something from the specials menu. Not much for service-- but when you eat the food-- you won't care!

Holy Baby Jesus all precious in the manger is this place delicious. The restaurant shares the store that is next door so it is a bit confusing to locate the entrance. It is a small place with only about a dozen four toppers. The decor is kind of tacky Mexican but you kind of expect that; bright colors, sombrero hat, other nick nacks. The girl working the register at the store had to walk over to seat me, next time I'll just seat myself and yell out I'm here. She ran down the specials and one of them was chicken mole. I ordered the special and a horchata. She then brought out my drink and homemade chips and salsa! The chips were not from a bag they were actual deep fried trotilla strips and salsa that was actually spicy. Once my food arrived I tasted the rice and beans, sorry that is my test for good Mexican food. They were delicious and the homemade tortillas made them taste even better. They brought out an actual ample quantity (6) corn tortillas for my dish. The chicken was ok just boiled chicken, but the mole sauce was absolutely awesome. Sweet, chocolatey, and after you swallow the mild spiciness lingered on your palate. The waitress peaked he head out a few times to make sure all was well. When you think of cheap awesome Mexican restaurant that has an old lady in the back making food fresh just for you like you are pat home, this is the place. Don't expect great service or sterile cleanings. Expect homemade from the heart food from a hole int the wall restaurant.

My second dine here, the first being last September so surprised at no listing on Yelp. I'll fix that. Bottom line: solid family style Mexican restaurant, sort of on the traditional side with tacos but also a nice selection of burritos and a few other offerings that don't offend but might be considered more Americanized Mexican (nothing wrong with that). Funky interior, no fuss, no muss (I'll upload photos if allowed), and shares a space and access point with a Mexican grocery next door run by the same proprietor. The grocery is not only a must visit, but you actually pay the bill for your meal there which is an interesting twist. Near as I can tell, everything here is prepared from scratch including the chips which appear to be made and fried locally in-house. A bit crunchy and uneven but sure prefer these to the stuff out of a bag most places are serving. A real nice salsa heavy on cilantro and onions (bravo) and on this visit they had an optional sauce bar you could serve yourself pico de gallo, pickled jalapenos, green and red sauces of varying temperature, pickled hot veggies, etc. Nice. Had the four enchilada platter meal with rice, beans and a healthy serving of lettuce and onions. No plate over-run with melted orange or white cheese, thank you. Companion had a pork burrito that was large enough to fill him and will serve as his full lunch on Monday (think big). Good service, *great* Latin music on the corner stereo, your typical Mexican painting on the wall, plastic hanging decorations, you get the drift. Meal came quick and was very tasty. This is your typical solid Mexican neighborhood joint without any pretense. Good selection of Mexican beers, priced affordable. Worth the visit. I only get in this area of the country a few times a year and this a hard choice to say no to for a solid affordable meal. Pretty sure I'll be back.

This place is so good, and so cheap, I'm considering moving to Manitowoc just so I can eat here every day. It's a fairly small place attached to a Mexican grocery, so don't expect much in the way of atmosphere. That's okay - you've come for the food! We happened upon the $1 taco lunch special. Four of us ate full meals for well under $20. The al pastor tacos had pineapple in the meat, giving it a delicious tanginess. The bistec tacos were really flavorful, with extremely tender meat. The chicken was juicy and tender. On your way up to Door County or Green Bay, or headed South? Well worth the detour to El Alamo.

Wow. If I happened to be driving by this place I wouldn't have stopped in if you paid me. The only reason we found it was because of Yelp. This place is adjacent to a Mexican grocery store. So, service can be extremely slow (same dude working the store was also our waiter) but the food was awesome and authentic. Guacamole was made fresh, margaritas were excellent and the food fantastico! BTW I am not related anyway to this place, just an extremely satisfied Yelper. Thank you Yelp another positive experience.

I saw the good reviews, had some time, so decided to try. Maybe it wasn't my lucky night. I had combo #1. Flavor was good, but meat, allegedly beef, loaded, and i don't mean a piece, I'm talking about 90% inedible, unless you're a raccoon or a feral pig. Honestly, piled with disgusting gristle and fat. I thought i saw an eyelet and part of the "Converse" logo in it. Simply gut wrenching. The waitress/cook/bartender/store clerk lady (yes, all the same person) asked me how it was, i told her not good, she apologized, said they just changed meat (maybe its adidas now?!) and said there was nothing she could do. Maybe i'll go back in and suggest getting shoes from Goodwill, they're bound to be older and hopefully more tender. The "beef" here, at least tonight, was the worst food i have ever been served, anywhere, anytime.

I was a regular customer and would literally order food to go all the time until I noticed that the burrito I had ordered had been made with an expired tortilla and meat. When I took the food back (I had to drive back) I told one of the employees there and she rudely said that it wasn't true! That they had just purchased those ingredients the day before. I told her to take a look at the meat, and the green spots on the torilla! Even so, she refused to believe it was expired. 10 dollars gone to waste, they think that a Caucasian person won't know the difference if Mexican food is expired or not but that's completely untrue. Tortillas are not supposed to have green mold on them! And if they do then guess what? They're expired! I called the health department on them and they didn't do anything about it. So now I'm just letting everybody know here what to look for if you ever consider coming to this place. The tostadas are always stale, and no matter the situation, they will never give you a refund! The soda machine that's outside takes your money without giving you the soda, and once you let the owners know they claim that the machine is NOT theirs, that it's somebody else's. And I know that's a lie because I remember seeing the owners set it up outside. I would never recommend this place! Cheap, rude, lying people! And if you're gonna buy anything from their store, make sure they charge you correctly because a receipt is something you won't get even if you ask for it.

Nothing fancy, just pretty perfect Mexican food ( great al pastor w/cebolla a y cilantro) and friendly service and our waiter rang up my card without a tip and I didn't have any cash or time to run to an ATM so someone please leave him a little extra for me, and I'll stop back next time I'm in town and hopefully make it right, but in the meantime, hopefully 5 stars are worth something to him.

Never would have stopped here if it wasn't for Yelp. Pleasantly surprised. If you don't like authentic Mexican you might want something else. My Tacos were wonderful. Staff was nice.

Went here after church one Sunday because of the rave reviews on Yelp-- and I'm delighted to say that I wasn't disappointed! Delicious, authentic, and A LOT! My wife and I each ordered combination plate and could not finish it all (happy to say we were able to take home leftovers). The pulled pork and the chicken were wonderful on our tacos & tostadas; I was in cilantro heaven! Picked up a package of sweet bread when we checked out. Delicious! We'll definitely be back!

Great value, great food, friendly service enjoyed a lunch with a group of mates on the way to Airventure, Oshkosh 2014. Stop by and get any of the combinations, the ones we had were all great.

What a yummy find!!! Authentic Mexican food that was a little slice of heaven. I had lingue (tounge) taco and a roasted vegetable tostada. Friends had cabeza taco (delich) and carne asada. Much to our surprise, we saw oysters on half shell and got them as well. Fresh and delicious! Waiter was terrific. Loved the whole experience! ! Can't wait to go back.

Most authentic Mexican food I've had in years. Brought back memories of dining in Cancun and Cabo. Service was excellent and the entire staff had smiles on their face.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
