We were passing thru and looking for a juice bar. This was the only place that came up for miles. We called and nobody answered. We took a chance drove over. The owner was there but the place was closed. He was more than happy to prepare two green drinks and off we went.

This place is truly an oasis. A rose amidst a dunghill, if you will. The cool dude who works there is a cool dude and the vibe is good. I usually just get an espresso. I always look forward to stopping in here when I'm in the area. One of the only cool things about Manitowoc.

Went with my friend on a lunch break and we got the vegetarian lasagna because my friend was a vegetarian and it took us forever to get our food, at least a half hour, and we were the only ones in there. Even though it took long it was tasty. The owner was really nice. Had a Chai Tea and it was delicious. My husband went a few times a couple of years ago and said one time he would pay one price for some thing and then the next time the prices would be different or the owner would just tell him to give him whatever. The atmosphere is very hippy and chill.

I had a super relaxed, down to earth lunchtime experience here on saturday 2/22/14.. My egg and cheese burrito was wonderful. The cheddar was tasty and local. The coffee was awesome. Friendly, quick and attentive service. I'll be back!

We happen to be in town for a reunion. While staying at a local hotel, my son did a search for a place to get a bite to eat and some good coffee, he said this place seemed to meet his meet his requirements. We proceeded to the cafe and were introduced to an extraordinary owner and had a lot of fun talking with him and his cut ups. The menu is limited but tasty and the owner is a very health conscience individual and supports renewal energy sources. To say the least he made our day and it was a most interesting and pleasant visit. At the end of our visit, I asked his name and it ended up my wife and his parents were best friends. His mother ran the boutique next door and as we were leaving she happened to stop for coffee, so she and my wife got to chat, awesome. The omelets were delicious, coffee was great and the experience was super. I highly recommend this place and for the locals to support it as well anyone visiting the the area to stop in: I don't think you will regret it! This place is somewhat a hidden gem off the beaten path, stop in! We ended up going back the next day to get a coffee to go for our trip back.

I'm pretty far from a vegetarian, but my co-workers and I decided to visit this place as a few other places we had in mind were closed for lunch on Mondays. We step into the place and it's what you'd expect from a coffee house with vegetarian cuisine - anti-establishment themes, supporting very green/fair trade causes, and very unique coffee and tea selection. I ordered the spicy veggie burger wrap and loved every bite of it. The spinach wrap was incredibly soft and actually had taste that contributed to the dish. The actual veggie burger didn't fool me in terms of taste and texture of a beef burger, though I'm sure that wasn't the intent. Richie, the proprietor of this establishment, stated that this dish was probably the most popular item on his menu. The beans had a nice, dense texture and there was a nice taste profile that blended nicely with the salsa. Richie chatted with us a little bit as we were the only people in the restaurant and stated that he's owned the restaurant for over 20 years. He told us that thought of expanding in the past, but I'm glad that he didn't because you always lose something once you have more than one location to worry about. If you're ever in the Manitowoc area, I'd highly recommend visiting this place. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

On our way tot he game-- looked like it was closed-- but we were waved in. An amazing mocha at an independent coffee house? Is there any better way to start a Packer Sunday?

I love this place and stop here every time I head up north. On my last visit we had quesadillas, chili, and my son had a peanut butter-banana sandwich, which the owner said was inspired by his dad. There were many other interesting options. I've had good coffee here in the past, but got an iced tea this time which was tasty. Nice relaxed atmosphere with a hippie vibe and interesting murals and art. My son loved taking pictures here. They also have options of almond or soy milk for beverages.

This place is GREAT. It's a quintessential, out-of-the-movies punky coffee shop, a refreshment from the usual overwhelmingly hipster atmosphere one would expect from a good coffee shop. Also on the menu are some great meals that fit all appetites: big, small, even vegetarian and vegan. The coffee is delicious, some of the best I've had. A sticker on the cash register reads "Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks." I agree with that as it is, but I also have to say that friends don't let friends get coffee anywhere else but Culture Cafe.

What a cool, unpretentious little shop. Coffee roasted on site, really good espresso (lots of crema, smooth and silky) by owner/ sole proprietor. Great feel to this place, like State Street in Madison in the 70's. Good "Spicy Veggie Burger Wrap", black bean based in a organic tortilla. If you want the opposite of Starbucks, stop here. Free WiFi, vegetarian, locally produced where possible. Really, really good.

An oasis in a town like Manitowoc. Great coffee, GREAT food. You'd think you were in Madison or San Francisco. Richie (spelling?) is the proprietor and picks all the menu items and coffees. He is often the chef, too. Free wifi. Even a drive-thru. Highly recommended.
