The Postmark Grille Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

We went here for a co workers baby shower. The service was excellent and they even brought us side plates for the cake we brought in. I thought that was really nice of them. The reason I'm giving three stars was the food. I had cannelloni and at $13 a plate I was really expecting something amazing and it just didn't seem that awesome. It was also a fairly small portion for the price. Tried a piece of calamari, it was OK. My co workers meals looked so so. The real winner was my side salad. I chose a bacon vinaigrette and it was awesome! Next time I'll probably opt for a salad with that dressing!

Very good restaurant! Awesome décor and the food is delicious. They're known for their calzones, and my girlfriend really like hers. I decided to try something new and ordered their spitini. It's steak rolled in cheese, salami, and bay leaves. It was awesome! Definitely give it a try!

The Postmark has consistently been one of my favorite dining out experiences in the Twin Cities-Wisconsin area. I LOVE the detail in the historical postal service decor, saluting the building's former occupants. Beer selection has a little bit for every taste, but it's the wine list that really gets me - the Chilean Epica is a surefire win with any meal, and super good value at only $6/glass!! I hate places that charge $11 for a minuscule splash of vino. No matter what you order, ask for a side of their pizza sauce, so you can at least taste it - phenomenal. I've read some of the other reviews, and while I have always had good, timely service, I understand that everyone can have a down day as well. Hopefully people come back & give it another shot : ) I'm bringing my friends over from Minneapolis next week!

We had a very cute, friendly server, Derrick, who made us feel like we were the only table in the room. Truly warm and hospitable. The entrée selection was a good value for our party. Sicilian family recipe steaks or spitinis with the inclusion of bread, soup, veggies, etc. Really flavorful and more bang for your buck. We were FULL. I'd come to this place again.

Friendly staff. The food came out really quick. The food was good. Cool environment as it's the old post office they did a great job preserving that. Have to say it was a good experience for our first time.

This place was so cute! We made reservations here because we had 9 people in our group. They put us in this little room off the the side so we were all by ourselves. There were some good drinks available, my favorite one had the glass rimmed in pop rocks! I got the sirloin steak, medium well and the garlic mashed potatoes. The only reason this place did not get 5 stars is because The steak came out well done and the mashed potatoes had hardly any garlic flavor in them. I'm not a steak snob, so I was fine with it, but I know others are very peticular about how their steaks are prepared. Several other people in my group got the spitini and they LOVED it. It looked very good, even though I didn't try it. But overall, this place had good food at good prices, and I would go again if in the area.

I have dined at the Postmark several times and the service has always been very good, so no complaints with the service at all. The food is generally very good, but this last visit I had the meatball sub and was disappointed. The meatballs were ok, but the sauce and sub roll were disappointing. When it comes to Italian food, I'm pretty picky since I'm a born and raised Italian from New Jersey and New York and used to homemade Italian food. So I'm not saying the food was sub-par, it just wasn't to my liking. On the bottom of the check it asks you to rate the service by circling one of three choices. I did that, rating the service at the top choice. I also included a comment about the meatball sub being disappointing and I included my name and phone number. I have not received a call from anyone asking me why I was disappointed, which is disappointing in itself.

Service was great. Very cool building but the high ceilings amplified all of the noise. It was pretty loud and it was only about 1/3 full when we visited. Decent beer selection. I enjoyed the basil limeade specialty drink and it was delicious. Food was pretty average. I had the parmesan crusted mahi mahi that came with a side of lemon butter. Decent but nothing special. The sweet potato fries were better than most places. Highly recommended. Another in our group had a pasta dish that she said was good, but again, average tasting. The portion size was generous. I think that this place has a lot of potential with the atmosphere of the cool building and location but could use a monthly special menu with some more upscale menu options to set it apart from the other choices in the area.

We ordered the Italian Nachos as a starter to go with our drinks based on a recommendation from our server. We picked at the app. for a couple of minutes before setting it aside, what a greasy mess. The server seemed to care less about why the food was left almost untouched. Have had much better food almost anywhere in Hudson.

We just had dinner last Friday and I found this place pretty interesting. I probably wouldn't have guessed it was previously a post office. However, the entrance reminds me of North St. Paul post office. They probably removed a lot of the furniture and would have liked if they kept the letter holes for nostalgia. Oh well, we got the chicken quesadilla and it was loaded with green onions, black olives, etc. The best ever and it was $1 off appetizers until 6. For dinner, I had the fisherman's platter and endless salad. My fiancée had the halibut on rizzoto which was a little cheesy but still good. Within walking distance to downtown, this grill is the perfect place to hang out with friends.

My girlfriend and I were in town for a pre-honeymoon of sorts and were looking for a romantic restaurant when we stumbled on this beautiful spot. We both loved the look of the restaurant and the availability of outdoor seating. We started off with some really good bread and a nice salad. We both wished that they had provided a lot more butter but the bread itself was so tasty and there was more than enough salad. I asked for italian salad dressing and, to my surprise, it was creamy but I really liked it. My girlfriend had the cannelloni and I had the tortelloni. Both were so rich and good and we had enough to take some back to our hotel to enjoy later. Would definitely come back to this Hudson gem, perhaps after the actual wedding!

We had a wonderful experience. Server was personable and handled all of our questions. She even offered additional information about the town. We had appetizers, pizza, and walleye dinner. All of it was prepared well and we were thrilled overall.

Service was poor. Food was cooked well, but with sub-par ingredients. Salad mixed greens were iceberg lettuce with carrots and cabbage. May try again for wine and appatizers with girlfriends, but definitely not dinner again.

Ended up here after a bad experience at another Hudson eatery. Great service and food. I had the chicken wrap which was great. Wife had the salmon sandwich and she loved it. The homemade chips are phenomenal! We will be back. It was great.

This place was a great find! They did a fine job of preserving the old post office, creating a neat atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety of options so there is something for everyone. The food was delicious. They make all of their own salad dressings. I recommend the warm bacon vinaigrette. So yummy! The icing on the cake was the fast, friendly, attentive service.

Gave a glowing review a while back, unfortunately, I must modify. Service is AWFUL! I should not be seated and wait 10 minutes before I am even greeted. Same goes for the tables around me. But there was no shortage of high school hostesses working.... SOMEONE TAKE MY DAMN ORDER! ...or at least say hi. We were 15 seconds from walking out before a nice guy came up and offered to track down our server. It shouldn't be that hard. No restaurant can succeed with decent service. Please step it up

If you are looking for great tasting food this is the place. If you are looking for great service go to McDonalds. Sat down and the server asked if we needed more time to order as he gave us our menus. Once we ordered we waited for bread which never came as well as our salad which never came. Dinner was dropped off and the server left. The server came back about 20 minutes later and asked if we wanted our salad and bread. Just a note to Postmark Grill, if you screw up that bad you just might want to offer a free drink. And the tip I did not leave, that is the first time eating out I never left a tip.

Stopped in here on our way back to Milwaukee from Minneapolis. Delicious food! I had an amazing salmon sandwich on ciabatta with tomato basil aioli that I ate every last bite of. Loved that they had the option of baked potato, hot homemade chips, fries, sweet potato fries or salad as a side. The atmosphere was very cool - an old post office. Very nice decor, friendly waitress... I'd definitely return if in the area!

Mailing this one in Not much in the way of praise Hmm...je ne sais meh. The ambience saves this place from a one. They converted the old post office building in downtown Hudson into a bar and grill. Retained much of the character of the old post office. Nice patio out front. Unfortunately, it was not patio weather today. It is been open since December 2012. A block off of the main drag in Hudson. Given the slightly off the beaten location, the service and the food, I would be surprised to see this place make it very long. Service was not nearly as bad as my most recent visit to Key's in Hudson, but it was lacking. Waitress could not multi-task. It was one table only at a time. Take their order and bring them what they want, then get around to the next table. And it was much less than crowded. Got the Brooklyn Sub, which is basically a pastrami sub. As most who read my reviews on Yelp would know, I am more of a gourmand than a gourmet. I think the Brooklyn would disappoint both. Light on the meat and the meat that was there was pretty fatty. Dining companion also said the fish sandwich was pretty light on the fish. I would give it another shot, but I am in no rush to go back. I think it could improve if they just focused on a few things with the menu. Be a pizza place or be a sandwich place, but don't try and be everything to everyone.

Have been here a couple times with mixed results. Food has been good sometimes and so so other times. Same with the service. The decor, however, is nice and they have done a good job turning an old post office into a restaurant. Many of the old pieces of the post office are still visible. This restaurant is also set off the main street a block so it tends not to be as busy. They have a small but nice patio to enjoy in warmer weather. There are many places in downtown Hudson with better food, but if you want a low key place without a wait I think this would be a good choice.

My first time here was late spring of this year. I think they must have had the new place jitters because things were not great. The service was lackluster as was the food. I went again last night with a group of friends and it was oh so much better! We sat in our own private dining room which was pretty neat - I think it used to be the Postmasters office. Our server was very good. He was congenial, checked on us often and brought out everything 'hot'. We started out ordering drinks which were well prepared and good pours. For an appetizer we tried with the Italian nachos. They were pretty darn tasty with tomatoes, cheese and little chunks of Italian sausage. I'd definitely get these again. For the entrees several ordered the sirloin special with choice of potato and salad. Everyone was happy with the special and one person declared the blue cheese dressing for the salad was maybe one of the best she'd ever had. Someone else ordered the lasagna and said it was good, but a huge portion (who could eat all that) and maybe a bit on the cheesy side. I ordered my old standby chicken sandwich. It came on a couple slices of very good toasted sourdough bread and was smothered with sautéed onions and mushrooms, along with swiss cheese and mayo. Pretty darn yummy. It came with a cup of chicken noodle soup which was just as good as my grandma used to make - sorry granny! The restaurant is in a restored post office and it is interesting just to walk around and see the old brick, woodwork, secret ladders to the second floor where they had little spy holes to check on the worker bees downstairs. The waitstaff is very friendly and will gladly fill you in on the history of the building. I would happily go back!

All day Sunday happy hour! Nice patio. Every time I go I find that I love it even more! Service is always prompt an consistent. There's only one entree item that I've tried that left me thinking it could've been better, but, the big menu with something for everyone is a little big and it can be hit and miss and also pretty ordinary. I'll have to return to try more. Love the atmosphere inside although during busy times the large open spaces can get a little loud with echoing voices. Problem solved with a nice day and a great patio!

I'm a history fan and especially like old buildings. I'm glad they decided to give this old post office a make over instead of tearing it down and building it up new, the character of the inside just adds to a great experience. We had the burgers and fries and they were very good. The burgers were hot and juicy without being greasy. The regular and sweet potato fries were crisy and tasty. The service was excellent and the waitress was very nice and knowledgable about the food. Refills of water come in wine bottles, which was rather unique. A very pleasant experience and worthy of another visit.

Service was wonderful! Our server brought out dough balls for our kids to play with while we waited for our food.....what a great idea, it worked like a charm!! The red snapper is amazing and their pizzas are one of the best in town. Ya gotta try the fried mozzarella!

Great steak for the money! Wife and I went here on a recommendation from the rents and the service was amazing! The waiter looked like the kid from Superbad....

I have now been to the Postmark Grille 3 times and each time, the food and service have been excellent. All 3 times were with friends and were for lunch. On this most recent visit, we sat outside (which I normally don't like to do). When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted promptly by a server and offered an inside or outside table. Since it was a beautiful day, we decided to sit outside. (The inside is beautiful--with a nice mix of tables and booths. This is actually the old post office building in Hudson, but has been nicely remodeled into this restaurant.) The outdoor patio is located in front of the restaurant, overlooking the street. Normally, such a patio is noisy, but because this one is slightly raised above the street and is just a half block off of the main drag through downtown, the street noise wasn't an issue at all. (In fact, the only issue we had was a pesky bee who kept visiting our table and attempting to sample our food--guess he knows a good thing when he sees it!) I should point out that there is plenty of non-metered, on-street parking very nearby (though not directly in front of the restaurant). Our server--the same one who seated us--gave us a couple of minutes to get settled, then was back at our table promptly. She told us about the day's specials, then took our drink orders and left us to look at the menu. The menu is absolutely huge--many great options and VERY reasonable prices. While our server was off getting our drinks, another server (L) who'd waited on me during previous visits stopped by the say hello. In talking with her, we found out that our server (E) is one of the owners--we never would have guessed. She was so efficient and friendly...not pretentious at all! Her greatest interest was in making sure we had a great dining experience. One of the women in our party maintains a strictly gluten-free diet, so Erica was excellent at pointing out what her options were. (One note here...though they don't actively promote this, they have MANY gluten free options on the menu--a huge plus!) Our food arrived quickly...I ordered their Italian Chef Salad which is huge. Dressing is served on the side (so it's easy to take home the leftovers--without the salad getting soggy). My friends each ordered sandwiches and loved them. Their homemade potato chips and sweet potato fries were great--and not greasy at all. Because of where I was sitting (near a corner of the patio), I was able to see that all of the other tables on the patio received the same great level of service that we did and all of the food that we saw delivered to other tables looked very good. The servers helped each other out nicely--when needed--very good teamwork! Postmark Grille is one of those rare restaurants that proves that a restaurant doesn't need to be fancy to score a rating of 5. Excellent service and food are what counts and this restaurant provides both...! I would highly recommend this restaurant...and even if you don't live or work in the Hudson, a visit to Postmark is worth the drive...!

Our entire table had some hit or miss dishes here, but the service was awful. It took us 3 hours to get out of the restaurant and we had reservations. We were seated 30 minutes late, and then from there it took forever. I had the French Dip, and it was awful. The Au Jus was thick and chunky like it had been sitting in a pot for days. It was disgusting, and I'm shocked someone would actually put it on a plate. One of my dining companions had a bun that was soggy on his burger. On the upside, some of the diners had some solid dishes, but not great enough to weigh out some really awful issues.

Went to Chapter for a book signing. They'll have lots of these events, however my fellow readers and I will not likely make it back here. I started with an average cup of chowder. I got a cheeseburger. Now what kind of a damn fool orders a burger, when an angus burger is right around the corner at Agave.I kept saying, that I wish those guys bought this place, and I know a second one would have just as much of a packed house. The bun was good. Everyone knows how I love reubens. My friend ordered one, complained how soggy it was, and the other side was barely grilled. I could see it from where I sat. It was the sliced type, always a bad sign. Service was good. Bathroom was very stylish, but hardly any water pressure. They went all out in decorating, and construction, but not the parking lot, pot holes and cracks all over. I have a feeling this won't change. As far as the food goes, I don't know what you would dare try. Please, Mr. Postman, Return to Sender.

Another large menu with nothing that stands out. Large portions of pasta, swimming in boring sauce. Sandwiches have way too much bread for the small portions of meat. Service is not terrible. Beer selection is bland. Place looks nice though.

I absolutely love this place. I had there Buffalo Chicken Sandwich about a year ago and that is all I get now. They have another location in Amery, cant remember the name, and that place is excellent too. Should have a couple more IPA's on tap though.

After reading reviews, I was a little worried about checking out Postmark Grille, but as my dad is a retired postal inspector I thought it be fun. I am SO HAPPY I didn't listen to the reviews. This place is awesome! I went for dinner with my boyfriend and parents. Seating was immediate and the place is really neat to check out. Our server was prompt and attentive and also sweet enough to take a few pictures of us with our phones. Three of us ordered drinks from the bar and I have to say that my Italian mojito was delicious. Our food came out fast - on our table we had a taco salad, a western burger and a pizza. All the food was delicious, we all raved about our meals. All in all I'll say that the place itself is well done, the staff is so attentive and friendly and the food is delish. Highly recommended and I will be back!

Decided to pick this place to meet up with some good friends I hadn't seen in a while. I got the lightly breaded walleye and a local spotted cow brew. Service in the kitchen seemed slow but that didn't matter much as the primary goal was to catch up with friends. Waitress was attentive and friendly as can be. Atmosphere was good, on the loud side but the place was quite busy. All and all a good experience!

We ate there one Saturday evening and had a good experience. My husband had the daily special, smoked salmon salad and although he was not impressed, it was okay - The dressing did not compliment the salty salmon and there was not much of that, either. I had the tomato basil capellini with grilled shrimp and it was excellent. The house pinot noir was also very good although they did not have a good dark beer on tap for my husband's preference. The service was very good. We went back two weeks later with our handicapped mom after a traumatic family event - to relax, a good meal, a glass of wine. The entire experience was a disaster. The server 'forgot' to bring one of the courses (soup). Then a different server dropped an entire tray of 5 drinks at the table next to us. There was broken glass, ice and sticky liquid everywhere but mostly on us (having spared her table the brunt of the mess). My husband's jacket did not get splashed, it was soaked. They moved the other family to an alternate table and asked me and my husband to stand so they could clean up under and around our table. They proceeded to clean up the other table first even though no one was sitting there any longer. Our food got cold. We finally took our plates and tried to eat standing up, then took it upon ourselves to sit t at a different table - leaving mom to sit by herself. We Understand that accidents happen and the poor server was mortified. We asked to speak to the manager and suggested that should it happen again, they should first clean up the table area where people's food is getting cold. He then proceeded to make excuses without apology (busier than expected, short staffed, inexperienced servers, etc) and said he would credit us one round of drinks (which would have been two glasses of wine at $5.00 each). When the bill came, he had credited a total of $2.00! I then wrote to the management and heard nothing back. Clearly, they don't care if we return or who we tell about our experience.

So my wife and I stopped into this new restaurant for a bite....They did an incredible job on the renovation of this old post office and turned it into a very inviting place to eat. Unfortunately the first thing we had was a pastrami sandwich and a roast beef dip sandwich and both were not something I would come back for....We will give it a second chance but as of now there are half a dozen other restaurants in town I would recommend over this place.....Sorry folks...

We went there today for lunch. What a fabulous atmosphere! Their Bloody Mary is superb, if you like spicy. We do! I had the Parmesan chicken sandwich which was good. My mom loved the chicken wild rice soup. Another table ordered a pizza that looked so yummy. I will be returning to try some pizza for sure. Overall, it was good.

My family was dining here other night when my brother had a fainting/choking spell. He keeled over onto the floor, unresponsive and the EMS were called. No sooner than he was awoken, staff came over to box up all of the food no one was able to eat (since it was just delivered) and threw down the bill. She seemed more worried about getting the bill paid and table cleared than if my brother was ok. Needless to say, nobody felt like eating after an episode like that and the lack of compassion over the situation sickens me.

I was so excited to try this place. Nice decor and renovation of the post office. The food was good, but not great. It was our first time and we told the server that. You'd think she would offer some recommendations or be excited it was our first time. No, she just said "I'll be back in a few minutes" and walked away. Also, I ordered a tap beer. It came to me in ice with a straw...never had it served like that. I'll give it another go this summer to let them get the "kinks" worked out.

Been here twice. Their lasagne was just ok, but the cannelloni was very good. I love the huge portions. The drinks are fairly priced and the service was friendly and efficient. The blooming onion appetizer is wonderful and I'm a fan of nostalgia which you get if you are from the area and had been in the old post office. I've heard that when its busy the service is terrible, bit it was just busy enough the 2 times I've gone and the staff did a nice job. Will definitely be returning!

My wife and I came here for our Valentine's day dinner. I was somewhat apprehensive based on the other review of the restaurant but we went ahead with the reservation anyways (normally they don't take reservations). This was our first visit to the restaurant which opened about a month earlier. We found the service to be top notch. The wait staff was extremely attentive and they knew their menu well. I appreciate that they were willing to share suggestions not only on food but how to best have the food prepared and the pros and cons of how well done the food was. We got their onion blossom and it was amazingly good, far better that we have ever had at either Chili's or Outback. I got a beef and rice soup with my meal that was pretty amazing. It had strips of steak in it and quite a bit of garlic. My main course was a ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection. I would have to say that my steak rivaled the absolute best steaks I have ever gotten at the St. Paul Grill. The only downside to our visit was the dessert that my wife got, apple crisp, which simply put was not crisp in any capacity. That was removed from the bill. I would highly recommend Postmark Grille. It is not too spendy (think around Pier 500 prices) but the food was top notch. My wife and I will be back again.

I ate there last week with a friend on Fri eve. We had to wait 30 min and couldn't eat outside since it was so busy, which I took as a good sign. We got chocolates across the street at Knokes while we waited so that was okay. Waitress was nice but very slow to get our order, and I could tell she was overwhelmed. But the food came fast and above my expectation -- my brother is a exec chef, so I'm picky. The food is really the most important thing to me as I don't eat out much. I had the veggie sandwich with an amazing sauce on soft ciabatta bread. The sweet pot fries were good too. Jack and coke was a bit flat though. They definitely still need to work out the kinks as a new restaurant.

Loved it. Ate lunch there with a group of 11, including 5 kids. Service was great. Food was above avg. We had pizza, buffalo chkn sandwich, spaghetti w meatballs, soup and reuben sandwiches. It was all good stuff. I grew up in Hudson and love what they did w the post office. We'll be back.

This is probably my new favorite restaurant. The quality of the food is incredible, service was great and the place has a really nice vibe. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the amount of food that you get. There were five of us in our party and all of our meals were outstanding. Their marinara sauce is the best I've had in any restaurant, bar none. I can't wait to go back, and keep going back, to try other items on their menu.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types.
