Bricks Neapolitan Pizza

407 2nd St
Hudson, 54016
Reviews:
Eric and I were looking for family-friendly Hudson restaurants for a late Lunch/Early Dinner with our families. We independently chose Bricks, which is no surprise; we both manage to find quality places. Bricks is on Second St in downtown Hudson, a small vibrant little town which is just over the St. Croix River from Minnesota, about 35 miles from Minneapolis. The facade is nondescript. The interior is tastefully understated. There's some marquetry on the wood walls. On to the food! Thin crust pizza, red sauce or white. Sadly the sausage is bland. The dough is perfect. Good salads, which are free 4-6 PM M-F with a pizza! Great beer selection (local stuff, like New Glarus' Spotted Cow), Peroni (Italian,) decent wines by the glass. Very good service. I'll be back and recommend it!
This is my favorite east metro pizza place... I live 1/2 hour drive from it but it's worth it! The pizza is really delicious and their salads are downright amazing. You need to try a side salad with your pizza-- you won't be sorry. And since it's in Hudson, they serve Spotted Cow too. :) If you've never had Neapolitan style pizza, try this place out. I like it better than any other Neapolitan pizza place I've tried in the metro area.
This is the second time in three weeks I ate at Bricks. Today, my wife and my 6 year-old daughter went with me. I like the warm feeling that the wood interiors bring. Today, I had the Focaccia di Robiola and the Siciliana enhanced with Pizza Fiume. I chose a glass of Salmon Creek Cabernet Sauvignon. The overall combination was a good mix. Portions were just the right size. The atmosphere of the restaurant blends comfort, warmth and family friendliness. My only recommendation to the restaurant owner is to make the person who waited on us more friendly. Fast service is better when staff is friendlier.

Breakfast until 1. Those three words together make a joyful noise.
Unbelievable menu with mouth watering flavor. Caribbean food that has just the right amount of spice. The jerk chicken is great as well as the rasta pasta. We had ceviche on our last trip and that wasn't as good as I have had in the past. This is our go to spot when we fly to MSP. Cute little town on the St Croix river.
Great/Awesome Service from Hostest, Mangment, Wait Staff, Bartenders and the Cook's. Small place, Awesome Food and Drinks, Starter Salad/Bread was De-lish. Not, for large groups or Kid's. Small patio seating out back w/no view. Added San Pedro to 1 of Our Favorite Spots

Kozy Korner Bar & Pizza

708 6th St N

Reviews:
So I'll be totally honest. I love love love Kozy and I love their fun events they hold on weekends. Everything from bean bag tourneys to University of Wisconsin marching band playing in house to party bus events !! Great environment to watch a game. I LOVE their fries and breakfast pizzas! The owners are involved with the community and I just love a good old community bar and restaurant that loves to have fun and immerse their heart and soul I their family owned business. I can go here and have a good drink and some decent food and a hell of a conversation! Not to mention they always deliver to my home and the meals are inexpensive!
The Kozy Korner has been the perfect neighborhood bar. It is the kind of place you can go to eat with a large group of friends, or sit at the bar alone for a beer and some baseball. Their pizza is the best in town, although some of the specialties are pricey. The bartenders are friendly, funny, and always engaged with the customers. The late night menu is perfect for some stomach settling munchies before bed on a Friday or Saturday night and the back room is sectioned off just enough to provided a makeshift dance floor where you can choreograph moves to 90's hits such as "My Pony" without too much shame. The Kozy hosts great parties and pub crawls throughout the year and has good beer on tap. This establishment is a true Wisconsin sports bar.
Badger paradise Very crowded on game days Go for the pizza! Gopher fans beware! If the sight of red and white makes you sick to your stomach, this is probably not the place for you. Kozy Korner is a shrine to Badger athletics. Bucky is all over the place along with a bunch of Rose Bowl paraphernalia. Maybe the Gophers will get there some time this century. First time that I was here it was jam packed for a Packers game. This evening with only garbage bowl games on, it was deserted. KK's claim to fame is their pizza. Is it the best pizza that I have ever had? Nope. Is it my favorite pizza in Western Wisconsin? Indubitably. You can get your pizza either thin, krunchy or deep dish. Went krunchy both of the times I have been here. It is still pretty thin, but with a crispy crust and sauce that is bomb-diggity. Got two Captain Cokes to wash down the za. Came in the same size glass that it would have been if it was just soda in there. Hate the sippy cups that you get for mixed drinks at most places. Not the case here. If you need any more vice, they have an entire (but, small) room of gaming machines. Did not partake this evening, but cool that it is there. The small joys of living on the eastern side of the St. Croix are many.

Culver’s

Reviews:
Culvers is an institution here in Wisconsin they make great burgers with lots of cheese. This location in Hudson is one of the better I have been to. The average age of the workers is probably 16 but they hustle and work their butts off. My order has never been wrong and they usually bring it out in less then 5 minutes. If you are going to be going East or West on I94 you need to stop at this location. My favorite things to order are the Cod Dinner $8.99, and the Wisconsin Swiss Melt basket for $6.49.
Here on business and needed a quick lunch. I have to say, they have tons of parking, the place is a nice size and it is very clean! I ordered a steak sandwich & curds. Both were pretty good- not the best. They did give me a sample of their truffle custard. I am still thinking about it today. Next time, I will skip lunch & have their custard of the day!
Don't know about the food but the bathroom is nice and clean.

Been to the Hudson Subway often. Sandwiches are very good and the service is pretty fast. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they don't deliver.

Hudson Bagel & Coffee Co

Reviews:
I worked here when they first opened, so I feel like it's probably ok for me to critique them now. Their bagels haven't changed and are still good, but I really would like to see them take the local route and make more whole-grain type things. I know they're not gunning for the natural market at all, but it couldn't hurt. Their drinks are still excellent. I was just up here a few days ago with my dear friend and we had Italian sodas that were quite phenomenal. Their coffee drinks were always really good too, as they resurrected the drink menu from the long defunct Daily Grind (shame, really! I loved that place). They also are one of the only places in town that has reliable WiFi, so I still love them for that. It may not have that funky coffee-shop vibe that makes a cup of coffee/laptop occasion really relaxing, but it's still a good local business for sure.
Love the bagels! I recently tried an iced mocha espresso and it was awesome! I will be making quite a few trips through the drive through for that!
Great place and has free wifi. You can literally sit there all day using the wifi and they won't shoo you away. My favorite are the 'fresh yesterday' bagels and the chicken or beef foccacia sandwiches. Don't forget to sign up for their reward program, every 100 points is a $5 gift certificate, and Tuesdays and full moons are double points days (triple if they coincide).

Dick’s Bar

Flashback to 20 years ago when my parents (loyal patrons for decades of Dick's) brought their baby daughter out in public for the first time. Where to? Dick's Bar, of course...and I've loved it ever since! Now before you go on thinking this is strange...give it a chance! While Dick's is a typical, grungy, riverside bar (on the St. Croix in Hudson)...the food and the traditional bar-esque atmosphere make it sooo worth it. So throw on a pair of jeans, or hop off your boat and head on in for some greasy-but-great skin-on fries and fried chicken-in-a-hubcap (their specialty). They have great specials every night and it's just the place to hang out in your comfies with your drinking buddies and food friends! For those not as comfortable with the dirty bar scene. They also have a low-key dining room and an adorable enclosed garden patio in the summertime!
Walking in I thought this was going to be a local dive bar (the 'regular' sitting in the front window didn't help), but its actually a big sprawling bar with a little something for everyone. Seems like standard bar fare - I had a fish sandwich which I don't think I've EVER ordered in my life. It was good, just a strange choice for myself. I loved that the "appetizer of the week" was Deviled Eggs. DEVILED EGGS!! The patio was super nice - very "lush" feeling. I just wish it were bigger because I bet on a nice night it is PACKED.
Good cheap Bloody Mary breakfast. Typical greasy spoon. Service was great.

The service is always good. Of all the fast food places in Hudson, DQ employs the most positive, hard working young people. Great attitude, and consistent service and food. Far better service and *consistent* quality than McD's, Culvers.
i seriously don't understand why this place is always packed. It seems to be the place to go and people just hang out in the cement parking lot at a busy light---intersection. The parking lot is tight. No drive-thru and it is dairy queen so the menu is the same everywhere. The vanilla cone dipped in chocolate is still better than most other places and they do have consistency. I just don't really get cravings for it.
Damn I can be lazy. There is no drive thru at this one. I actually had to drag myself out of the car and go in and order. I ordered the medium cone with crunch. The crunch now comes in a little cup where you have to throw it on yourself. As if walking in wasn't enough..... Somehow its just not the same. The people working there said their machine was taken away because it wasn't sanitary. OK, makes me wonder what the hell that's all about. The cone just became one big mess, not to mention the table. Trying to stuff a cone in the little container was messy and trying to pour it over the cone was a pain. They have a nice little atrium to sit and eat or make a mess of your do it yourself dessert. They serve food (burgers, dogs etc) at this one. The people working there were nice.

Wouldn't know how to rate the food because once we got our Sunday brunch menus, we didn't see the wait staff again. They were overwhelmed, most tables had no food and were waiting, so we took that as a clue to split.
I give this place 4 stars just from having the Belfast seafood Chowder. It was one of the best seafood chowders I've had and I've been all over the country and in the Deep South, it rivals Savannah, GA's She-Crab soup! It was loaded with very fresh seafood! Baby octopus, mussels YOU NAME IT!!! I had the seafood Boxty and it was also delicious. Our server was perfect. I have no clue why I haven't been here before and I live in Hudson! There are about 10 Other menu items id like to give a whirl so I'll definititely return. They could do a much better job making the atmosphere more "pub-like" on the downside.
Off the beaten path, but well worth the little drive just east of Hudson WI. great food, great beer selection. Prices are very much inline, service was attentive and friendly. We will be going back for more!
