Typical Northwoods decor: deer, moose mounts, fish mounts, and lotsa beer signs. Notty pine. Very nice. We had Bloody Mary's with Alaskan Amber on tap chasers. The Amber was delicious. The Bloody was below average, and had a lack of fun snacks. It only had a lemon slice, pickle spear and olive! But I would go back for the Alaskan Amber on tap and fun decor. They have food, we watched the cook making a pizza, which smelled good. They have a stage in the back room. I suspect the place gets very busy for the Birkie.

We really like this place but they are ALWAYS short on wait staff. Food is ready to be served but sits at the pick up counter. They have good food and a great up- north atmosphere but need more help. Hope the owner reads this and steps up the game on service and getting more help.

Can't give zero stars. No service. At all. After 20 minutes we bothered the bartender who said someone would be right with us. It wasn't busy. Servers were clearing empty tables. We could not get service. We weren't rude. We just left. Save yourself the aggravation, avoid the Sawmill.

If you're looking for a family-friendly bar restaurant where live bands play frequently, than the Sawmill is a great choice. The food isn't great, but don't forget-it is a bar. Sawmill also sports a pretty impressive collection of sawmill related decorations as well as a number of random knick knacks. Also notable is its hosting of the annual Namekagon Art and Music Festival on the weekend after July 4th. Unfortunately, the service at the Sawmill falls a little short every once in a while, but between the great bands that play, the festival, and the decor, this is a minor offense, and not one in which to judge this fine establishment.

Good place to stop. Clean place, nice atmosphere, okay for kids during the day. The fries are really tasty all burgers come with a chicken option. They surprisingly have vegetarian options. Full service bar with sports on the TV. The also offer an ATM in the bar if you need cash. The signage is a little confusing malts and floats are at the coffee shop in the same building.

Went to this place nice atmosphere, got a Bloody Mary it was good then got French dip sandwich it was not the best it tasted reheated. Would try something else my friend got wings they were great

Loved the woodsy atmosphere of this place, however the service was not up to par. There was only one other table being served so it should not have taken as long as it did to get our drinks and then finally our order in. Once order placed, the kitchen took an amazing amount of time to fill the order... Which was just 3 sandwiches and a bowl of chili. Once food arrived the fries were half cold, our sons sandwich order had been miss read and he didn't receive his food until we were about done with our food. He had just ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. When we got our ticket we had been charged $2 more for misc. food items. They were kind enough to say that was a mistake. So buyer beware here.
