Awesome experience from a Steak house in the middle of nowhere. Even though it was off season the food was fantastic. They had a server who was in playing love music which was a nice touch on the night. The server was both personable and very helpful in navigating the menu and steering us toward what was in season and of the best quality Overall Great food Great service Unexpected place for the location

Stopped on a whim while traveling the area. I had the duck. It was OK, nothing special for 29.00. My wife had the filet and send it back as it was very overcooked. The Mussels for an appetizer were very good. I think there area better options in the Hayward area. Pricing was a bit high I think. Service was OK. I thought it odd that the owner came onto the dining room a couple time to visit with some of his friends that were dining there and offered them Ice Cream drinks that were not available to other customers. While in the dining room he ignored other patrons. The decor of the Club 77 is very nice and it could be a very special place with some basic changes. Stick to the basic and offer comfort food that is priced for the area.

From the lack of AC I predicted mediocre service and meal I couldn't be more WRONG! This place does it all in style I had lots to eat and as I stuffed my face with home made( I'm talking on site fresh ingredients including Mint and horseradish from the garden at the front door) because everything was a suprise in delicate yet superb flavor. The dressing, the soup, the cheese cake, the steak, even the beef was sliced here! From chibatta to clam chowder, I was ready to love every fork spoon or knife full. If you want an exemplary dinner and enjoy real fine dining with every infinite detail defined by being made just for you, this is the place. Do not miss this gem in a world of franchise and monster distributor wholesalers.

Had our usual post Birkie ski race meal on the 21st. Club 77 fumbled the ball badly Saturday night. Had a 7pm reservation, didn't get seated until 7:40. Most of our group orders ribs, ends up that they only had 1 order of ribs left, and they looked to be only a half rack and were dried out and tough. Two people in the group ordered the Tenderloin and shrimp. Both ordered it medium, they arrived very rare and were not trimmed out very well. The beef was covered with large pieces of Silver Skin. The wait staff seemed very overwhelmed and confused. Also the kitchen seemed to be under staffed, only 2 chefs appeared to be working. Birkie night is a huge night for restaurants in the Hayward area, Club 77 did not handle this busy night well. Over the past few years we have felt that the quality has been slipping and Saturday night confirmed that thought. Looks like we will be looking for a new Post race place to eat at on Birkie night next year.

First off, Linda provided outstanding service. We had the NY Strip and the Walleye. Not rating the strip vs Ruth's Chris or Morton's. It was a great tasting steak for a reasonable price in an area where a good steak is hard to find. The Walleye was very good as well. Good food, great service, fair prices... What else could you ask for. We ate on July 3rd. It was very busy so this was a good test.

We love Club 77!! Great food and cocktails. Interesting menu with creative daily specials. Generous portions. Friendly staff and servers. This is a little gem in the northwoods!

Two words: Fon-due. Yep, how many places still serve a relish tray with fondue? Not many, let me tell you! However, here at Club 77 you can get it and the gettin' is good! Had the Beef Stroganoff and it was delicious. A must-stop every time I visit Hayward. Keep it up!!

I have honestly never had a bad experience here. It is a yearly tradition that after we ski the Berkie we have dinner at Club 77. My dad and his friends knew the old owner and would shack up in the upstairs of this place before and after the race so it has some personal ties to all of us. It is a small place but the food has huge taste. I love starting my meal off with the "complimentary" fondu that comes when you order a meal. The price is steap but that's to be expected, it definitely falls in teh category of supper club. The amount of food you get is more than enough to fill you up even after you just skiied 56km across northern Wisconsin earlier that day. They have a small bar while you wait to be seated and they pour pretty solid drinks, no complaints from this end. They're also very accomodating. Within the madness that is Berkie weekend, our reservation somehow got lost and forgotten. We showed up and they offered us a spot at the bar but we really wanted to relax at a table. They totally understood and gave us the next available table as soon they could. I'll always enjoy going here but probably will limit it to once a year. I'm a still a broke college student, I can't afford $40 for a meal and drink on a regular basis.

Fantastic food, great bar, wonderful wait staff. Family owned and operated with a great history as a northwoods restaurant. Starts out with great cheese fondu and bread cubes for dipping. Then your choice of wide selections of food. Have had seafood, steaks, salads...never been disappointed. Oh...a great bar with lots of historical memrobelea (sp?) If you are anywhere near Hayward....give this place a try!! :-))

Club 77 is now one of my family's first choices when up in Hayward. The main reason we go here is because we are always looking for the best place to get a prime rib, but they're other foods are delicious as well. We had walleye cakes, escargot, and beef satay, all delicious. Loved the cranberries in the walleye cakes as well as the red pepper aioli and caramelized vidallia onions that came with it. The soups are good and the salads with they're homemade dressings are the best. Steak is definitely a good choice here, but you can't go wrong with any of the menu items. The desserts are always great. The place has also been in operation by the same family for years, and the owner's son is a waiter (a very good waiter).

Stay away, I have been there 2 times in 10 years, stay away, 1970's style menu, untrained staff. When we complained about the food being undercooked, the waitstaff argued with us. The owner nor cook would come to the table. wrong entree, 1/4 cup of rice, small portion. You are in the northwoods, so I gave them 2 stars instead of 1, they can get away with more.

Awful food, poor service, and high prices -- not much going for it anymore. In our most recent visit my prime rib was cold (and I suspect was from the previous night), the wife's fillet was raw on the inside (even when sent back), and my side was INSTANT potatoes (no choice offered.) Prices are high for the Hayward area, but not too out of line. But the food is terrible, never going back.

Brought my folks to Club 77 for dinner, since supper clubs are as much a novelty for them as the new Beatles show playing in Branson. It's not entirely my thing, but I really do like that there are options in the area other than ala carte dining with minimal service. We made reservations the day we wanted to come in, and when we got there they had modified a six-top for our group of four. The bread & veggies had already been set out, water was poured, and we had plenty of room. It was a great first impression. It was obvious that our server was reciting a well-scripted presentation each time she visited our table. Although it was kind of awkward, it was nice to know that we were in a place that is concerned about service. The food was great! It got a little disproportionately pricey (six or seven dollars for a small bowl of French onion soup, but a decent steak was in the low twenty dollar range), but at the end of the meal we had all had the bread/veggie place, appetizers, great entrees, and desert for about $120 before tip. There are other supper clubs in the area that I want to try, but this was a pretty decent one for sure.

Celebrated my 55th birthday here last summer. Disappointed. Of course, it's probably MY fault, as I ordered a seafood entree in a place known for steaks. I'll get steak if I go again.

One of my favorite places to treat myself and guests. The new chef has made some great changes and highly recommend giving him some license to create. The specials have gone from average good to over the top! Best single malt scotch selection for many miles and they know their stuff. A side note, I was there the night that Jan L. reviewed.... not an accurate portrayal of the waiter, the owner, or the food. Customer looked like they were trying to get something for nothing, pulling BS like splitting entrees, complaining about food that they ate every last bit of and all the usual "difficult" customer tricks. You can't win them all. but Club 77 really does try to provide their diners and bar patrons with a nice dining experience. Give them a shot!
