Don't waste your time, it's NOT great or even good! I wish I could give it Zero or even negative stars. My husband thought to try this place since it had such high ratings and he thought maybe we'd find "a secretly awesome place" out in this small town. Well, he was wrong and knows it. We were looking for a place to eat with our 2 young children finishing up some errands in Hartland so we decided on the North Lake Inn for "Italian" fare. When we pulled into the gravel parking lot to this run down looking bar house we already questioned our decision. As we entered we landed inside the bar and saw the hostess sign to wait for dining seating. We were quickly greeted and seated in a late 1970's constructed/designed room addition. The walls were oak paneled and the tables/chairs were your basic square bar table and hotel meeting room style of chairs. There was absolutely no Italian character or design to the dining room at all! But there was a wall hanging of a loaf of bread wrapped in a plaid dinner napkin. WOW! We were kind of crammed into a corner next to a another family. I thought this very strange since at 6:45pm on a Saturday night we were 1 of only 3 families seated in the dining room and we could have been spread out a little better. We sat for a good 10 minutes without any server acknowledging our existence, even though several of them passed us and even cleaned up the tables around us. We had menus from the hostess so we had time to completely decide on what we wanted to order. I caught the hostess' attention and asked to please have our server come over as we had not yet been attended to. Finally one showed up and we ordered an appetizer, our dinners and drinks. We ordered the combo platter appetizer and it was just a huge pile of deep fried crap served with a side of jarred pizza sauce and bottled ranch dressing. It was pretty bad. Fried mozz sticks, fried mushrooms, fried onion rings, some other fried square cheese thing and fried eggplant. One of my kids wouldn't eat any of it and he loves crap food. I honestly hoped the food would be less like ordering a side order from a fast food restaurant but it was not. We got our drinks, I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and my husband ordered a Sprecher Amber. My wine was their "house", and it was god awful! I could barely choke it down, it tasted like communion wine. We ordered the North Lake Inn Special pizza for me and my husband and the kids had corn dogs (the kid who likes crap) and spaghetti. It literally took 45 minutes to get our dinner from the time we ordered! My children were besides themselves and completely freaking out. When dinner finally arrived I was hoping the pizza was going to be fantastic but it was just MEH! We spent WAY too much ($18) for a small pizza that was nothing to write home about. The Olive Garden would have been a better choice, unfortunately. I don't understand who rated this place so highly? These people must have never ever eaten real-authentic Italian food in Milwaukee or even Chicago. Please DON'T waste your time or money-there are plenty of far better restaurants on Milwaukee's south side! Delete review

We often get take out from there and love it. The lobster ravioli is fantastic. I have never had a bad meal there and the service has always been great.

Great pizza! We have a couple (gluten free) GF in the family and so glad they have this option. Quick service with the 3 young boys & a cozy atmosphere. We will return!

Only reason 3 not 5 is the bartender does not acknowledge you when you walk in, she has done this a couple of times. It's sad cause she is the first person you see.

Not a bad place kind of out in the middle of no-where. Not sure if i would say it was worth the drive for those coming from the Milwaukee area. We started with the Garlic cheese bread which was pretty good although a bit heavy on both the garlic and the cheese. We then got Pizza which seems to be what they are known for. The Pizza was pretty good. Nice crisp crust, good cheese to sauce ratio and good amount of toppings. Tasted like your "typical" Chicago thin crust style pizza.

Kind of a dirty dark bar, but the food is awesome. If you are looking for comfort food (e.g. pizza or pasta) go here!
