Grabbed some wings to go for the game today. Very happy with the service and friendliness of the staff. The wings, while not the best Ive ever had are certainly very good. Nice size, about 10 to a pound / order. Tender moist meat, good variety of sauces offered. You can have them breaded or not. I like mine non breaded. The skin was not the crispiest but part of that was probably them steaming a bit in the car on the ride home. It certainly wasn't rubbery. Again, very happy with such a local option in a small town in WI!

Very good food in a quaint Irish pub setting. Fish fry is excellent as well as the burgers. Prepare to spend at least an hour or more there as service can be quite slow.

Super Specials! My wife and I could not resist the Specials for today. A shrimp and pasta dinner with crab stuffed, butterfly shrimp, excellent sauce over a bed of angel hair pasta. Also a beef stroganoff dinner with hearty portions of beef and a seasoned gravy over twisted noodles. Both dishes had very large portion sizes and leftovers will re-heat for lunch tomorrow to enjoy the great flavors all over again. Tally Ho's kitchen continues to impress! Stop in soon.

Located in a building from the 1800s (1872, I think?) the dining room has a nice cozy look with dark wood paneling with dark green paint above and lovely hardwood floors. There are several TVs in the bar and a banquet room available upstairs. The dining room is smattered with historic photos of the building, which I enjoyed. The selection on the menu seemed small to me for lunch options. Knowing I would be going out later that evening, I didn't want to spring for $16 dinner entrees during lunch, so that left burgers, salads or a chicken sandwich with bacon. I went with the patty melt, as did two others in our group. Honestly I was surprised at how flavorless the sandwich was. The beef had to have had zero seasoning on it. The menu said it came with carmelized onions but these onions were just lightly grilled with a good flavor, the only flavor on the sandwich really, but since they were pretty crispy they kept pulling off the sandwich when I bit into it, or falling out. The green beans and carrots in the seasonal vegetables were good but the broccoli also had no flavor. Our server was nice enough. We got two plates of food delivered to the table, but no silverware or napkins, so when she came back five minutes later with the other two plates we ended up asking if we could get silverware. Mr. R's sandwich was listed as coming with horseradish sauce, which it did not. He asked for some and got a side of some white sauce that several of us sampled trying to figure out what it was. The consensus was that it was ranch dressing, so he told the waitress it was not horseradish and she came back with a side of the appropriate sauce. Nice place. I'm sure I would come by for drinks, apps and dinner if I lived nearby but for a first visit I dub it "Meh."

They constantly change their menu. Not a good feature for a bar and grille. They had the best Mac and cheese and now it's gone. Even the waitress mentioned she's had tons of complaints about the menu. Now it's burgers and wings. The bbq wings were bland. Bummer. Won't be back.

I've been here a few more times since my original post. Twice for fish fry. Both times mistakes were made with our orders. Was here recently for some burgers with friends. Boy, have times changed. Burgers tasted very bland, with a small 1/3 lb patty of meat. Service was still friendly.

I would eat an app or sandwich at bar after catching a buzz maybe but I won't recommend coming to Tally Ho for a dinner dining experience. The dinner entrée was written as including vegetables and a choice of side so I chose Mac & cheese with my Salmon dinner. Out came dinner (quite a while after ordering) and no vegetables. I asked my server where they were. "Oh we don't have any" she replied. That is something a server should tell a customer upon ordering. I should have been offered another side but was not. The Mac & cheese was good. It was creamy. My salmon was not bad but I wouldn't go back for it. I had a bottle of PBR and it tasted slightly old and skunky. I would have liked water refills but did not receive any.

Consistently excellent food and one of the better Rubens in the greater Milwaukee area. This is a favorite place to go for Friday fish frys. They have a wide selection of beers and a great bar worth bellying up to.

We live in Erin and had heard about all the changes and the negative comments about Tally...we've been going there for years...so when bartenders and menu changes were non stop we quit going in....until yesterday...we stopped in to get out of the rain ...glad we gave it a last shot... the changes in the dining/game room are beautiful...the menu hadn't changed that much..nor have the prices....our bartender Becky was awesome....I'd go back just to see her....if you've had a rocky experience the last 9-12 months...try it again...they have really gotten it back together!

I'm torn. I really wanted to give this place four stars, but there are two things I can't tolerate: over-seasoned foods or sauces and grease-soaked potatoes. I ordered the reuben and a side of crispy red potatoes. The corned beef on my sandwich was amazing, probably the best I've had in a long time. It was thick-cut, juicy, and tender. Everything arrived at our table hot and well-prepared, but my potatoes - wedges of deep-fried red-skinned potatoes - were soaked to the core with grease, which imbued the potatoes with the palate-squelching blandness of whatever oil they were fried in. My only other complaint is that the sauce on my reuben reeked of smoked paprika or some other mysterious seasoning I can't put my finger on. Other than those two silly things, this place is great! The service was superb and the atmosphere was friendly.

We are avid friday night fish fans and have experienced quite a few fries in the area. This has defnitely raised the bar. First of all they recently added an outdoor back patio which has a beautiful view of the fireflies rising over the cornfields. The waitress was extremely pleasent even though we were the only customers outside, she constantly checked on us. On to the food. I ordered the leinenkugel honeyweis battered cod and very much enjoyed the fish. The fries were great as well as the coleslaw. My parents ordered the special which was a mahi mahi with pico de gallo and green beans. They said it was perfectly cooked and great fish to begin with. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is the green beans were bland and tough. An unfortunate problem, but the rest of the meal makes us forget it.

I was here a while back and what a difference. I had claim chowder and walleye beer battered. First I haven't had that good of claim chowder since I was in Boston and second the fish was amazing!!! A+++

I and three buds checked the place out on a cycle ride. Great service from a beautiful staff member, great prices, food and service. Also one of the best Guinness pours I've ever had in the U.S. Food was great! Thank you.

This place has a great "Irish bar" feel. I went for the fish fry but for lunch and that was probably a mistake. I had the honey weiss cod fish fry and was not impressed. The sweet potato fries and slaw were very good. My spouse had potato pancakes and he thought they were good but I thought they were packaged. The clam chowder was good but so far no one can compare with Jordan's Big Ten's version. Many good beers on tap. They even serve honey weiss in three sizes. Sprecher's rootbeer was on tap too. I'd go back but try some other fish fry. The place does have a website tallyhoin.com .

I was home for the holidays and my best friend and I went out for dinner to catch up with each other on a Friday night. We waited about 40 minutes for a table. We were seated, looked over the menu and made our selections. Part of the menu is labeled as "Friday Menu" and is all fish, which to me means it is a segment of the menu that is only served on Fridays. Considering the popularity of Friday Night Fish Fry in Wisconsin, it makes sense that they would add fish to their Friday menu. Turns out, it is the only menu on Friday, not an addition to the regular menu, but that is not clearly stated anywhere. This was a huge disappointment to two girls that don't like fish. If you're going to limit your standard menu one day a week, A. You should tell people that before they wait 40 minutes for a table. B. You should just hand out a different menu on Fridays to avoid such disappointment. Not everyone coming into your business is a regular that knows about the Friday menu ahead of time and not everyone goes out to eat on Friday night to eat fish.
