Without reservation On two occasions we dropped in for dinner and were told the wait would be an hour for a table, even though there were clearly open tables. Both times we grabbed a seat at the bar and were served right away. While on the way out it looked as though tables were still open. Their serving of eggplant parmesan is huge and makes for great leftovers the next day. Honestly though, the tiramisu is the real reason we keep coming back...

Something for everyone. Every time I'm here the group will order different types of dishes. I do like family style so this is perfect. I get to try a bunch of different things but don't have to commit to 1 giant dish. I have leftovers every time! Also, I've had good luck with the wait staff. Very helpful and pleasant.

Went here tonight for dinner with the family and my in laws. The service was great and the food just ok. We ordered the chicken parm. and another family style pasta dish - can't even remember the name because it was just ok. The thing about Buca is the large portions but you do pay a lot and to me the sauce they use on most of the dishes is just too bland. This is not my first time to a Buca either. Our kids are usually good eaters 3 and 1.5 year old but had no interest in anything tonight. Y wife and I would go back another time and probably order more variety to give it another try. The rooms have a great decor and awesome location in the mall.

OK, yes only one star because I can't give less. Now before you think I'm just going to bash this place let me start with the pros being that I just spent two hours of my life here. Atmosphere: wonderful great decor from the old black and white photos to the red and white table cloths. The appearance of the place speaks class, fun, and good eating. The only thing I can suggest to improve the overall class of the decor is cloth napkins. Ok I really wish there was more pros but that's it. Now the cons... Staff; not attentive at all. We started our hour long wait at the bar with a bottle of wine. Yes a bottle and thank god for that as it eased the interactions with the staff behind the bar. From the conversations between them for bumping into one another to the bartender sniffing people wine before serving them, It all left me speechless. So after the hour wait we got a pub table next to the bar. Yes you have to wait for those too. We were seated and given menus then nothing for about 10 minutes. A bartender/ waitress finally ask if we had been help. Hello we just sat in front if you for a hour at the bar... Really. So she takes our order and brings us cold bread and oil. After another 10 minute wait we received our baked ziti. Hum not worth the wait that's the best I can tell ya. At least by this time the wine kicked in and we were talking over the issues. Our waitress never came back to ask how the meal was. Nor did anyone else. We will not go back that's for sure. If you're looking for real Italian food and hospitality look else where.

Came here this past weekend with our extended family. There were 17 of us and we had made reservations ahead of time. We got seated right away and were attended to immediately. The service was great! We had a couple of little kids in our group and my niece accidently knocked over my martini at the beginning of our stay. The waitress was so nice about it and immediately brought us another one and did not charge us for the first one. The manager came over and introduced himself and made small talk with the table. We felt like it was nice for him to come welcome us and make us feel like a guest in his home. We ended up breaking up into small groups and ordered things amongst our little groups. It was a great way to be able to try different dishes and really feel like you were at someone's home passing dishes and sharing meals. We were pleased with all the food we got. We opted for the dessert sampler at the end and highly recommend it!! We all got bites of the four samplers and it was not too much but just enough! It's really a great place to go with a group! You can pick small or large of menu items based on how many people will be eating each one. We did not know if we had ordered enough but once it all came we all left with leftovers! Great place and great staff! Fun to look at all the pictures on the wall--they made for some good stories as well!

Great place with awesome staff! We sat at a 2 top in the bar. Shawn was our waitress/ bartender she was very friendly and quick. I don't think we were ready for how fast the food comes out! We had the apple Gorgonzola salad(fresh Gorgonzola) sooo good! Then we split the chicken carbonara OMG carb heaven! I would highly both dishes. The dinner wouldn't be complete without homemade cannoli. Amazeballs! Management (Brandon) also stopped by to make sure everything was good. Can't wait to come back! 5+ stars:) keep up the good work bucas

Food was ok. Service was way off the mark. Server apologized many times but his service never got better and other tables had issues also.

A most definite "NO." The service was good, but everything else was fairly disgusting. The lettuce in the salad was cheap iceberg lettuce doused with salt, the bread was soggy, and the entree was over-spiced (horrifically hot). A very disappointing and rather expensive experience. We will neither return, nor would we ever recommend this restaurant to anyone else.

This place deserves 0 stars for the food! The waiter was nice and brought us our food promptly, but the food was just blah. First off I don't like how the portion sizes either come for 2 people or 4. What if the person you're with doesn't like what you like? Anyways we ordered, the lemon butter veal which tasted like....I'm not sure nothing? Maybe it wasn't marinated enough? Or maybe they just don't know how to flavor meat. For the side we did the rosemary potatoes, which weren't bad, but I'm sure I could make them better at home. We also got the fettuccine kid's meal. Let's just say olive garden's fettuccine tastes better.

I love the cheesiness, that is Buca. This location is true to all of the other Bucas that I have been to. I like the location because you don't have to spend an hour ahead stalking people for a place to park. There is plenty of free parking. This location also has faux outdoor seating, where you can watch people getting their haircut across the way. I love the decor, which is retro, Italian Americana. The music consists of my iTunes playlist of Deano, Sinatra, and Perry Como. The food is served family style and is tasty. They are heavy on the pasta and light on the toppings, but hey, the pasta is good. Get some red wine and just relax. You have to use a coupon when you come here. There is almost always a 20% or $10 off coupon sitting in my inbox. I love the theme and when I consider I could spend $70 at the supper club down the street and leave hungry, or I can spend $70 at Buca and leave full, with tomorrow's lunch, I would much rather spend my time and money at Buca. This place is fun, fun, fun!

Worst wait of my life. Staff did not know what they were doing. I can't say anything about the food because we left before being seated. We waited over an hour and still got no table. Management also was very rude to my bf.

I have eaten here twice and have been disappointed both times. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I don't understand why you have to order enough for two people and pay the extra price. I had the veal and it was tough!! I've never had tough veal before in my life. How do they ruin veal? I won't return.

bad location and idea given Olive Garden is down the street I stopped in here due to a groupon and they had a Lasagna coupon in my inbox the manager said there's a few ways to use these but pushed for us to use one or the other why? when both were totally fine to my understanding and fine print didn't say you couldn't use both the menu price was wrong on the side salad twice as much the food was bad bread was a dough ball the main dishes I get we stopped in for lunch but really for ten dollars I could of gotten a stouffer's frozen dinner and been happier no meat to be had mine was two noodles stuffed for ten dollars get out of here dessert was nice for the other person dining with me but tiramisu should NOT come in a cup of soup bowl ..tacky isn't even the word for it also the silverware was dirty they had a little step up section where we were seated and no warning as my elder mother almost fell the serve was nice but sadly this place is just bad and needs to close already I know for almost 50 bucks I would of been much happier at the Olive Garden no thank you

Southridge mall-- Terrible they don't know how to make Italian food. Service was good but overall very disappointed. They won't be in business long if they can't find a chief to cook who knows how to make Italian food. I could have my Italian grandma teach them it's really not that hard to do.

One word to sum it up DISAPPOINTING. I was excited to try Buca after seeing it's chefs on TV creating what looked to be these beautiful tasty dishes. That bubble burst when I visited and finally got to eat there. Started off by making a reservation so we would not have to wait on a Saturday night. I was told there was nothing open for the time frame we wanted so they could "squeeze us in" at a later time. That's so funny now that I look back on it because when we got there we had to wait for a table in a less than packed restaurant where they were seating people off the street with no reservations before us. That is a major pet peeve of mine. What's the point of a reservation? We were seated in a nice area, the "patio area" overlooking the mall. It was nice because it was not loud and out of a main dining area. Menu is a little confusing if you do not eat Family Style, which I do not. Our waitress was less than helpful, she didn't know much about the menu or drinks...first day maybe? To sum up the meal, this is what we got: Sangria - horrible! Just a red wine, no fruit, no brandy, etc The waitress brought me an orange - wow, its was all better then (I say sarcastically) Ordered the Chicken Marsala with the Rosemary Potatoes. It was AWFUL. I have never had Chicken Marsala that tasted like Teriyaki Chicken, someone either screwed up bad in the kitchen or they really don't know what Chicken Marsala is. Potatoes were undercooked and hard / partially raw. Waitress was missing and never came back to the table until the end of the meal and even then we had to wait for boxes because she forgot about us again. Horrible experience, Horrible food, Horrible Service. If I could leave a negative star, I would.

I was not impressed with either the service or food at this establishment. My party was near the kitchen and the wait staff was loud. When our meal finally came, the Marsala sauce was watery and too vinegary. We ordered tiramisu to go. Once we arrived home, the piece had been scooped out of the container and plopped into the bowl, then covered in cinnamon. All you could taste was cinnamon and it tasted old old.

I get that this place is busy. I get that servers are in a hurry. But to run into me as I walk in the hall towards the bathroom. I mean the waitress crashed into me zipping out of one of the rooms. She didn't even stop! Then, coming back from the bathroom, I nearly get run over. This time I was wary and stopped before I hit the banquet room. Common sense in a large traffic area...slow down. Have to say though the Caprese Salad is amazing! Not so much being hit with a tray of dishes and a waitress.

It's a solid 3 stars. Somewhat over priced, but we have found a few things we enjoy. Baked Ziti with Meat Sauce and Chicken and Sausage Ziti with Spinach. I know it's unbelievable, but I have yet to try the pizza. Tonight they are out of it, so some other time perhaps.

This was by far the worst dinning experience we have had in recent memory. Shame on us for not heeding the reviews for this location. Our reason being that since it's a chain restaurant, and their downtown location has been good in the past, Greendale should be OK. WRONG. We had reservations for 5:45 PM on NYE since our party of 6 included a 7 and a 3 year old. We were seated in their back "patio area", which is not inside their restaurant, but out in the mall's hallway. It was very cold there, and when we asked to be re-seated since there were several large open tables still in the main restaurant we were simply told no, if we wanted to sit in there we would then have to wait. The food was disgusting and as previously mentioned, way over priced. The only real edible dish was the chopped salad. The Shrimp Florentine dish was watery and consisted of 1/3 a bowl of water. The Spicy Chicken Rigatoni dish was dry with the noodles being under cooked. The garlic bread was like eating a clove of garlic. Our server was also part of the bad experience. The low light being when she knocked a full glass of water over on the 7yr old, getting her wet, and took her time coming back to help clean up the mess, with very little in a way of an apology. At one point she also knocked a plate into the head of the same 7 yr old. As my wife stated the next day, McDonald's would of probably been a better NYE meal .

Awesome food and service! The family style portions allow for you to really get a bang for you're buck &you're sure to have left overs! Italian cream sodas are homemade and to die for! Make sure you try the Italian cream cake as well.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
