Bad food, soggy grilled cheese and fries. I even asked for crispy fries. After finishing, the waitress noted I didn't eat the fries, and asked if I wanted another order made crispy as I originally asked. At the end of the meal I did not want fries. My husband ordered the Black and Bleu burger. Terrible-Ithink there was more bleu cheese than burger. The worst part was the bill. Very expensive. Won't ever go again!

This was a great place, and their pumpkin beer is incredible! I liked it so much that we got a growler to go. The bar/restaurant is huge, and has that homey feeling that so many places in this area have perfected. There's even a fireplace over towards the front. Servers were friendly, prices were good, and the place was clean. I'd definitely go back!

The only reason I'm giving two stars is because I like the atmosphere and love the beer. This is my third time at this location. I have sat at the bar once and got the best service. The nachos were wonderful and the beer really topped off the experience. I was sure to return. The second and third time I was here I had a weirdly dressed child not even greet me at the host stand and a waitress who made me feel like we were taking up four hours of her time. The third time the food and service was so bad, the only thing we finished was our beer. My boyfriends chicken Alfredo had NO CHICKEN. And my lobster and shrimp Mac had a pool of butter and three shrimp. We were in and out in 15 minutes and our bill was nearly 50 dollars. I'm a waitress so would never be one of those people who complains about everything because those people suck. But wow WSB. Hire more people like your bartender and maybe explain to your kitchen that chicken Alfredo actually involves chicken..

Egg plant fries are spectacular. Everyone should try them. Brewmasters pot pie, fish fry & fish tacos were great. The key lime pie & apple crisp were great as well. Wonderful service.

Stopped in here for lunch yesterday with a co-worker and was really impressed. My co-worker is on a gluten-free diet, and loved the fact they were able to provide him with a comprehensive gluten-free menu of food. I like the fact more places are jumping on the gluten-free bandwagon and are providing tasty, safe food for customers. I ordered a hummus platter that was really delicious and filling. Sadly, no beer was consumed, since we still had more work to do the rest of the afternoon. But this could be my new lunch spot when I'm in the Lake Country area.

Maybe it was just an off day for the chef. I've eaten here in the past and enjoyed the food, but not last night. I took my partner and my brother who was visiting from out-of-State and the food was awful!! The service was good, but we waited for several minutes before the young lady returned to the seating podium....maybe a bathroom break?? When we ordered, our waiter suggested we avoid the Jambalaya. We did, however, the rosemary chicken was simply a breaded fillet with a sprig of rosemary stuck into it and the dish was so cold, we returned it to the kitchen. The parmesan chicken was a breaded fillet cut into fingers with shaved parmesan stacked on top and a small cup of what tasted like canned sauce. My hamburger was good, but the fries were soggy and limp. And I won't even mention the pickle spear....gag. We drove several miles to show off the local restaurant, but won't make the trip again. Maybe if we're in the neighborhood, but then ONLY for a quick beer.

Do yourself a favor, get the beer sampler. Comes on a little plank with labels and all. I think my favorite beer was the raspberry ale because it had a very subtle raspberry flavor in it that tasted as fresh as if they were squeezed into the batch (turns out that they are). It's either that or their IPA, not overly hoppy but a very strong and robust flavor. Had the fish tacos for supper and they were very good. Nothing to rave about, just very well prepared.

Meh...this place freaking blows. I got a portobello sandwich and it was bland. At least my 94-year-old grandpa had a good time and that was the intent of the trip. Mission accomplished.

This is my 3rd time here, I went for a specific salad that they took off the menu and ended up with nachos. It was a giant plate of chips with melted, crusty, gross cheese, and salsa and guacamole (which was extra) on the side. My husband said his sandwich was ok but he didn't need to come back. I was a little disappointed the server didn't ask if I liked the nachos when I barely ate any. I didn't feel like complaining since I already asked about the salad. Next time I'll listen to my husband and go over to noodles or qdoba. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is they were good in the past.

Water Street Brewery has been a favorite of mine for years. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, a friendly staff, and delicious food. So many great dishes on the menu, and a solid beer selection as well. Highly recommended!

Nothing special here, we all found the food to be rather bland. I ordered the tuna which was cooked properly but the noodles it was served on could use some salt. My wife ordered the rosemary chicken and found it to be bland as well. My son ordered a Cuban sandwich which came up short of the mark. It's a shame that the food wasn't better because we did not have a chance to try their beers and it is unlikely we will return.

What can I say, basically a tortilla for the goat cheese flat bread, tomatoes on a Cesar salad and no Alfredo sauce to speak of on the blacken chicken Alfredo. This place sucks too!

After having a disastrous experience at another restaurant on New Year's Eve, my husband and I, along with our group of friends, decided to try the Water Street Brewery. What a great decision! Not only were they able to accommodate our party of 9 without a problem, but everybody that we encountered during our visit was extremely nice. The first thing that I noticed after being seated was the menu. They have the menu printed in a newspaper format. "How cool and unique!", I thought. There are actually 2 parts to the menu. The first part is their regular menu, and the second part is a "Green Sheet" menu (nice throwback to the Milwaukee Journal's Green Sheet section), which contains their specials and specialty items. They have a very nice selection of beer to choose from. My husband had the Oktoberfest, and I had the Black Lager. Delicious. As far as the food goes: they have everything, from burgers, to sandwiches, to pizza to salads and more. I had the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna sandwich. It is seared rare and served with lettuce, tomato, pickled cucumbers and sprouts. It is topped off with a spicy red eye aioli sauce. I am so glad that I ordered it. It was absolutely wonderful. My husband had the Parmesan Chicken Strips, which is a breaded chicken breast, sliced and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. It is served with roasted vegetables and stuffed new potatoes. He enjoyed his meal as well. Thank you, Water Street Brewery, for helping to turn our New Year's Eve around. We will be back, for sure,

Friendly brewery with delicious appetizers and great root beer. A friend tried the honey lager and loved it. We had the deep fried cheese curds and these were delicious. Wish we'd ordered two servings! Also the small plate of bleu cheese and potato croquettes was delicious. Main courses were just average, out maybe slightly below. We had Chicken Florentine, and it was nothing special. Side salad had some wilted lettuce, but the ranch dressing was good. The staff was friendly and we didn't feel rushed- although we were there for an early dinner on a Sunday. If I went again I'd just get appetizers and small plates.

Sat in the bar area and my server was very attentive and knowledgeable. I had a Monterey chicken pita which was excellent. I had their house brown ale which was superb as well. Price was decent, restaurant fairly clean, ambience average.

What are those horrible red chips?!??!?!!! Stopped for a late lunch. Gotta say I'm not that impressed. It wasn't totally retched. I got the ultimate grilled cheese with fries, let me repeat that, with fries. Hubby got lobster and shrimp Mac. Food came pretty fast. I had chips, not fries but hey, why not try them? Grilled cheese was pretty good. The chips seemed to be a mix of potato and sweet potato but there were these red things. They were so freaking gross!!! What is that a turnip? Hubbies Mac was just ok but had a funky taste to it. People next to us cola ones that their food tasted strange as well. Not sure if that meant something was wrong in the kitchen or not. So it was ok but for the love of god stay away from the red chips!!!!

Unless you go into downtown Delafield there are not a lot of options for food outside of chain restaurants . Water street has more options then just your typical pub food . I grew up around the area and have had just about everything on the menu . I suggest the wings , fish tacos , lobster mac and cheese and the veggie peta. You can't go wrong with their French onion soup either, which itself is a big portion ! They have updated their Bloody Mary and have a mega option you can get which includes a bundle of fried food including their fried cheese curds , fried eggplant , fried blue cheese balls , and a coupe others. Their only down fall is the staff . We had a great waiter Matt yesterday , I suggest asking for him . Even while sitting at the bar they can be very inconsistent and stand offish at times . Sitting at a table I have often had problems with inconsistency as well , and bad basic waiter skills. The worst of which checking back on the table to see how their doing . It's quite a big restaurant and they may just need more staff on at a time to handle the customers needs . They have a nice outside patio that's seated by a man made pond . For the first time in over ten years yesterday I was informed of something very neat ! They sell their own brewed beer and root beer in half gallons . If you bring back the container refills are only 9 dollars !

Good place for craft beers & decent food menu. Growlers are a must have carryout. Had the patty melt paired with Victory Amber ... delish. The onions made that sandwich. Only 4.75 stars because I didnt get enough of the house made RED chips. There is something about those red chips. I do like that they now have a huge sign-board hanging in the middle of the restaurant that displays the ABV and also the IBU of their beers, and some of the same cool staff at the bar since my last review. Did I mentioned on display is the most comprehensive & best beer can / memorabilia collection I've ever seen in my life?

Always get good service here, and my recent visit was no exception, waiter was exceptionally friendly and approachable. Food is pretty tasty, and affordable. Though nothing particularly earth shattering. Bizarrely, this is the only Water Street Brewery Location I've been too - I still haven't made it to the Milwaukee location yet. If you're looking for a tasty place just outside of Milwaukee to grab a meal, particularly if it's convienent to you on I-94, this is a great stop.

Fairly diverse menu for a brewery. I've been here a few times and have enjoyed the food. Quality is consistent and served quickly. Service is efficient. Be prepared for a wait on the weekends, since there are not a lot of options on the west side.

I met a few friends here for dinner last night. If was my first time at this location. The hostess was friendly and seated us promptly. The place is clean, good lighting, reasonable music volume for comfortable conversation, I ordered a quinoa salad. Ya, vegetarian is not their forte. Bland and undercooked. My friends enjoyed their meals ... can't remember what they ordered. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us often. I'd come back for drinks, but probably not for dinner.

Sometimes you just need a place that has a wide variety of food options that's not too far away. That's usually why we end up here. The food is better than what you would expect for a brewpub, but nothing extraordinary. Good burgers, but sad fries; tasty salads, but way too much cheese (even for Wisconsin!). They burned the pizza my father-in-law ordered, but the manager was there right away to make amends, as he should. The new pizza was great. The same goes for the beer -- it's fine, but not amazing. I would order something brewed off site if nothing piques your fancy right away. That's not to say their own stuff is bad, it's just not really anything worth bottling and selling in a store. It does come in a nice half-liter stein, but if the mug is right out of the dishwasher as mine was, you'll end up with room temperature beer in no time. The atmosphere is cozy and rustic, like an old beer hall. It gets really crowded on weekends, so plan on making a reservation. Otherwise, the service is fine, if a little slow. Finally, if you come with children who need a diaper changed, bring a female companion because there is no changing station in the men's room. This is the reason for me only giving the place 2 stars instead of 3. We live in 2014. Men change diapers, too. If you don't bring a woman with you, you have to make do with the filthy floor of the mens room or find someone to help you clear out the ladies room and stand guard at the door while you take care of business, which is frigging awkward. This is a place that is targeted to families, but apparently only families from 1970.

Their skinny mojitos were fantastic and the risotto and chicken with prosciutto was excellent. The waitress wasn't necessarily the fastest to get back to our table, but we were not in a hurry, so it was alright. We were very happy with our meals and service.

Pretty cool place. I had the wings as an appetizer and the blackened chicken alfredo for dinner. Both of which were very good. The Punch in the Eye P.A. was good (not as happy as I normally like IPAs to be), but the Honey Lager Light was incredible. I was apprehensive about the lager at first, but was surprised by how good it really was. Definitely worth visiting. I know I'll be back.

This Water Street Brewery location definitely went downhill since my last review. I'll start by saying, they have an excellent selection of micro and house brewed beers. They have a special that allows you 6 house beers and 2 seasonal brews for only $9 which is a pretty good deal, by all accounts. I have what some might say is a "less than exquisite" taste when it comes to beer, so I have yet to partake in any of their specialties, as of right now. As for the food, I ordered the same thing i had last time I visited (Cuban sandwich and fries, November 2013) and was almost disgusted by the taste of it. I'm not sure if they changed ingredients, have a different cook, or one of the other hundred variables but, WSB did not meet the mark of quality tonight. Told the waiter, (an older gentleman who seemed visually less than pleased with the direction his life has taken him), of my discontent with the meal and was told to simply "not order that anymore". Gee, thanks for the tip. I could just as easily not return to your establishment. I think I'll side with the latter.

I've had really good and really meh experiences here, but they seem to be getting better. Food is typical pub food and is really good. They have a nice outdoor seating area, but decor inside is really comfortable and appealing, as well. Service is fine.

I was disappointed in my recent bar experience. I ordered a Bloody Mary. It arrived looking like your average Bloody Mary and tasted just fine. I was even happy that I got to select my own chaser from their wide variety of beers... but then I happened to see a drink menu and came across the listing for the Oktoberfest Bloody Mary. For just $4.50 more, I could have practically had a meal in a glass and enjoyed their feature. I guess it was my fault for not looking at a menu before ordering, but you would think they would have asked me "Do you want our traditional or do you want our special?" Just pretty disappointing, especially since I was there to review it for my Bloody Mary Blog. Full review at outforbloodies.com .

It happened. I'm not certain it'll happen again. Nothing with our evening was bad necessarily. But nothing was standout awesome either. Our server was a little odd, but were were able to find some humor in that. I give them points for their sampler which includes 8 4oz pours for 9 bucks. It sure meant I could try a lot, but if I'm being completely honest there wasn't much differentiation between beers. The menu is pretty typical of what you'd find at a pub, I wish they would consolidate and do a few things really well instead of a bunch of things kinda meh.

Overall I'm a fan. My entree was average but I was very impressed by the ambiance and beer flight! I ordered the Southwestern Wrap. I asked for red pepper aioli -- which does not come with it - on the side. The aioli made the wrap. Otherwise it was bland. My meal came with sweet potato/potato/beet chip. I wasn't brave enought to snack on the beet chips but the sweet potato and regular chips were fab! Now for the beer flight review - wonderful! 4 oz samples each of 8 different types of beer for $9! I was very impressed with the pricing and was a big fan of the Pale Ale and Oktoberfest. I did not like the Raspberry and Seasonal Darker beer so I left those on the table. I plan to head back here for the atmosphere, beer and would love to try their pretzel appetizer with cheese! FYI - This location is celebrating 25 years in 2012.

Way downhill. Salad was lettuce, cheese cheese cheese and some chicken. Nothing else. Veggie pita was supposed to have tabouli but did not. Chips were weird burnt things that my kids refused to eat and they love veggies. Took a very long time. Too bad, we used to like it but maybe because it was a late lunch the regular cooks were gone?

Tried the Brew Tons. They were not wontons. They were really really deep fried raviolis with no sign of chicken inside. Pretty gross. The beer was pretty good. Both the Weiss and the stout, although the stout was fairly thin. There was a Sesame Crusted Tuna on the Pub Specialties. Do not get this. It was gray in color and overcooked. My mistake for ordering this at a brewery but the bartender recommended it and I didn't want anything fried because I saw how the "wontons" came out. There were also fruit flies everywhere. The best part is the venue. The bar has very cool wooden architecture. However, I would not go back here to eat. Maybe to grab a couple beers.

    (2)
  • Nicole P.

They make their own beer but also carry other brands. I had some sort of weiss that was good and fish tacos that were very good. Four of us stopped for a late lunch around 3pm and had the place almost completely to ourselves. It's big with lots of polished wood and your beer-making equipment, as expected. The price was fine, the food came out when you'd expect, and the noise level and temperature were good. I'd eat there again.

I've been here twice in the past month. The first was for brunch and the second for dinner. The service was great both times. I had eggs Benedict which was wonderful. When I went for dinner I had the chicken salad sandwich and it was delicious. It comes on grilled sourdough and they don't put weird stuff in it like some places do. Just good old fashioned chicken salad. They even let me substitute a side salad for French fries which I really appreciated. Two people I was dining with ordered the sausage plate with German potato salad and sour kraut. I had a taste and I must say that was excellent as well. I will definitely be back!

  • Nathan W.

Disappointing, even for bar food. For a place that makes it own beers, a lot of the food looks and tastes like it comes from a box. How hard is it to make you're own burgers or cut your own fries? Give me a real potato! The beers are not that exciting either. Many have sweet flavors of honey, banana, raspberry, caramel; not many things I want to taste in my beer. Could be and should be better. Overall, this is an airport-caliber experience.

    (1)
  • Adam B.

I'd have to say the best part of the water street experience is the craft beers they offer. Their food service leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered Blackened Chicken Alfredo, which is an exceptionally easy dish. This should not have been hard to make properly. The first two words in the title of the dish were not present. First of all the entire bowl of pasta contained not one sliver of chicken. Hard to believe right? This took any sort of spice out of the equation because the chicken would have been blackened Cajun style. It was a bowl of noodles with a few mushrooms and peppers and a below average Alfredo sauce. I strongly do not recommend. Service was not terrible, although I felt a bit rushed especially for a Sunday night watching football in the bar. The atmosphere here is cozy and comfortable, the beer is great but the food needs a lot of work for me to considering returning.

This place is dope! The food always good. The servers have personality. The hostesses are hawt. Good to go! AND, THE BEST CURDS IN WI... that I've tried. Greasy, flavorful and with a spicy ranch - Good to Go!

  • Stephanie M.

The service was great. My friend and I were very indecisive, but our waiter was extremely helpful in giving us great options that we were satisfied with. I got the grilled cheese with bacon. It may sound like a simple, childhood sandwich but it was far from it! It has avocados on it, which make it incredible! And it comes with your choice of fries or chips. I usually don't like fries much, but their fries are really, really good.

We were seated right away and that was it. No one acknowledge us so after about ten minutes we got up and left. Granted it was about 8:30 on a Saturday night but they were not busy so they should have welcomed a couple of hungry customers. The lighting was awful. I had to turn on the flashlight on my phone in order to see the menu. I won't even attempt to go to this place again.

After many years of being a loyal customer to water street brewery I feel that I will no longer select this restaurant for a night out. On two separate occasions we have gone and had the same waitress. The service was absolutely terrible. This waitress does not introduce herself at the beginning of the meal, checks on the table maybe twice during the entire meal, and worst of all drops the check off without first asking if the customer would like anything else. This is perhaps the most rude thing I have ever encountered in a restaurant. I do not appreciate feeling like I am being rushed out of the restaurant. The first time this happened I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking that perhaps it was the end of her shift. However the second time this happened was in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. On the last visit I ordered a cheeseburger with sautéed mushrooms. My burger comes out without mushrooms. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and brings it back with cold, raw mushrooms. It was disgusting. When I spoke with the manager she apologized and credited our bill. I appreciate her attention to the matter but overall these poor service interactions make me not want to return there again. The beer and food are usually great but the service definitely has room for improvement.

We stopped by on our way from Milwaukee to Madison. The stop was not planned. It just looked like a good place for the whole family. It was about the lunch hour on a Friday and seemed to be not very full. Lisa mentioned the clientele and I noticed the same thing. That doesn't make it wrong or bad, just different. The decor is that of a normal brewpub type place. All wood with the brewery throughout the restaurant. They did have beer memorabilia all over of many beers. The case near the front door housed 500 taps from all over. I thought it was cool. The food was OK. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great. I had a salad and everyone else had standard fare, burgers, fish and such. From what was said, everyone agreed that it was good, not great. I did not have a brew as we were on our way to a wedding recital and dinner. I wanted to taste their offering, but could not. If I happen to be in that area again, I will check it out. However, this will only be done AFTER I check out New Glarus and their brewery. From what I can tell, they are a leader in beer, world-wide.

  • Shelley T.

Ordered a Crispin Cider, but the waiter recommended the house cider. Yuck. Too much carbonation and not sweet, like other ciders. Appetizers of eggplant sticks and cheese curds were disappointing. The breading is too heavy. Best thing about the place is the decor.

Love beer, so decided to give this place a shot. It was a Monday night and we sat at the bar and watched the Bucks game. Brent, the bartender, was really knowledgeable about the menu and took really good care of us. We had a honey lager and an Octoberfest for beer and they were excellent! For food, we ordered cheese curds and they made Wisconsin proud. We also had the Portobello Pizza and BBQ chic Salad. Both were excellent and fresh. We will be back!

  • Richard S.

No real complaints, but nothing to brag about, either. I had one of their burgers on a pretzel bun, and it was OK. Fries were not soggy, but limp. Service was great, love the atmosphere. But it's sort of a combination of a brewery and Applebee's.

  • Bernard W.

The numerous parties waiting in front of the hostess's station for a table at which they might consume mediocre food and beer suggests that the economic recession never touched Delafield. So there's some good news. Nice looking place inside, and the staff was competent and pleasant. But these two things I could get at a free art museum. Burger was fine, fries dry, apparently unsalted, and tasted faintly of dirt (not filth, but earth -- so not entirely out of place on a potato, I guess). Draft beer list heavy on the lagers...should have taken that as a hint that the ales are a sideline. Mediocre pale ale (this is a memory of a past visit about a year ago), and a distinctly substandard scotch ale -- thin, over-carbonated, served too cold, and with noticeable root-beer taste...tasted adulterated, or maybe too much non-malt sugar in the wort. Worst example of the style I've yet had. Wish I'd stopped at Rock Bottom when I was in Milwaukee; much better food and beer.

I live near Water St. Brewery and I am happy to say that this is a consistently well-run establishment with fresh food. I'm writing this review because we go to Water St. so much that last night we decided to try something different and we commented throughout our dinner that we should have gone to Water St! Try the fish tacos with dill rice - amazing! When out in Lake Country area, Water St. is a nice option and dinners do not taste "factory-made."

  • Daniel M.

Admittedly, I used to basically boycott the Lake Country WSB. The way I see it, you have two micro-breweries in Delafield that are one Brett-Favre-hail-Mary apart, and you cannot love two competing micro-breweries... I felt sort of a magnetic loyalty to the Delafield Brewhaus, and refused to give Water Street a chance. I was a Mug Club member, and we didn't talk about the competition, they weren't worth our time. Times have changed. Due to circumstances that have soured my taste for the DB, I have broadened my horizons and accepted Water Street as a legitimate restaurant and brewery. Yes, I paid them money for food and beer. So, here's the deal. The beer across the freeway is still better, but I was pleasantly surprised by Water Street, especially their pale ale. It had the mouth-watering bite of carefully selected hops without losing its balance. The fruity beers in my beer sampler were not good, but I drank them. The food was just "eh." I had a Usinger's brat with sauerkraut and chips, while my wife had a spinach salad with chicken and hot bacon dressing. My favorite part was the chips, specifically the homemade beet chips. Delicious, and I found out that for a dollar more, I can have just beet chips, no potatoes or sweet potatoes. Nice! @Max V. - the raspberry ale is not at all subtle. I would never sip that and think, "is that a hint of raspberry I taste?" It's more like a burlap sack of raspberries to the face.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this review. I have the Philly Cheesesteak which was small, had no taste and the meat was like rubber. Ordered chips - got fries. Normally I won't give a short review as this and I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but this sandwich was one of the worst I have ever had. Ever. Ate at the bar and the bartender wasn't seen until it was time to pay. Plenty of other places around - no need to come back.

I previously didn't post a review because I was doing business with Water Street Brewery, but now that I'm not, I can let it fly and tell you what I really think! I think it's pretty good.I lived and/or worked near this location for the last 4 years, and have had many meals here. It's not the greatest meal I've ever had, but it's consistently good, and there's something to be said for that. The staff is accommodating enough, and I've never had any bad experiences that I can remember. I've also visited the location in Downtown Milwaukee, and had similar experiences. I'd rate it a solid "good" and feel confident in saying so.

Not gourmet- but has a decent salad and the service is kind and quick. Great for a quick eat before a movie.

I had a lovely experience here despite the fact that I slept in a car in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin the night before, and that happened as a result of laziness due to camping/partying/traveling/concerts that I had been doing for the 5 days prior. Le sigh. I think it was lovely mostly because it was trying (and succeeding) to be as inoffensive and bland as possible. Like hospital food, sometime bland is good for recovery. It was your standard Wisco-style brewpub with blond wood and historical trinkets. The service was really fast and seemingly accepting of the appearance of four folks that probably didn't look or smell very good. Thanks for recognizing that our money is as green as the goo under or fingernails. As a vegetarian, I was surprised at the amount of fare I could gobble up here. I got a pasta salad, and it the pasta was perfectly al-dente and the dressing was nice and tangy. There was a lot of it. I washed it down with a very large Weiss and a nice view of a little stream. It was all very nice, and possibly a great place to have your grandparents take you to on a sunny day. The sum of the clientele was all in their golden years, which was impressive as they were pounding back brews at 11am with as much gusto as us whippersnappers. Oh Wisco, how I miss your scwhilly ways.

Nothing to complain about. Basics: Good food when you are hungry, good wings, fries, portabella sandwich. My wife had crab melt and said it was 4/5. Decor is very cool with hundreds of taps and beer bottles. Music was a little loud and our group of 7 had trouble hearing each other.

We have eaten here several times over the years, have only gone back twice in two years of late. The ambiance is rustic/brew style and lodge-like with fireplace. There is outdoor seating as well and right near the mini-strip mall in Delafield. As far as the food goes, it's a varied menu. The only thing I can say is really exceptional are their home made chips. Everything else is pretty average. I disagree with another reviewer about the crab muffaletta - it is imitation crab/pollock which I dislike. It would have been good if actually crab. DON'T LIE AND CALL POLLOCK "CRAB." Just don't.

I went to this restaurant because it was so close to the hotel I was staying at - the Holiday Inn Express across the street. I liked the atmosphere - it's a local brew pub with wood walls and a roaring fireplace. There's something about the Wisconsin chill that make's a brew pub a great place to have a few drinks and relax. Part of this atmosphere is the hospitality of the wait staff. I've traveled to many states throughout this great country, but there's something special about Wisconsin. The people there are just so nice. Anyway, forget about the food. It's exactly what you would expect from such a place. A little bit nicer than standard dive fare for a slightly higher price, but nothing special. I had the fish tacos, and it's simply impossible to make them poorly. They're like pancakes - if you can somehow mess them up then you shouldn't be in the restaurant business in the first place. I wish I had varied my beer selection, but you know how it is. It's easier to tell the waitress to give you another round, and before you know it, you've had three pints of the same beer. No problem here because the pale ale was mighty delicious. An establishment such as this takes a risk by making a beer this hoppy, but that was no problem for me - I like my beer to have taste, the hoppier the better. I give this restaurant four stars, mostly for the atmosphere and selection of micro-brewed beer. The food was average, but then again, if it was too good, it would lose the unpretentious atmosphere that makes Wisconsin's restaurants so great.

The main beers I tasted were good, better than I was expecting. The Bavarian Weiss was very enjoyable, nice clove/banana action. Wife had the Amber. Ambers are usually bland to me, but this had nice character. The irish stout was prickly on the tounge, big carbination bubbles. Food: I had the German sausage platter. It was fine, but not super authentic or anything to write home about. Our server was a bit of a slouch, missing our appetizer order and general inattentiveness. Decor: the brewerania collection is cool, as is open beam architecture. I'd come back if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to get here.
