HIBACHI: For the past three years, my oldest daughter has requested Hibachi for her birthday dinner. So as in the past, a few days out from "the big night" we made reservations. (Trust me if you don't make a reservation for the hibachi table, they will not seat you there. Apparently they only schedule chefs for this area around the reservations. Last year we were turned away, and had to make it up to our daughter a few weeks later.) At the time that I made the reservation, I made a point to say that this was for a five year old's birthday. I did not expect a giant mouse or bright lights, bells, and whistles, I could have gone to Chucky Cheese's, but all we got was ,"oh, this is for her birthday?" when we checked in. We were sat right away, and we're the only people in the hibachi room. The service was not exceptional, but fine. The first course was the soup. This may be my favorite part. The soup is light, with just enough onion and mushroom. If you've never had hibachi, this is a standard. The second course, salad, we were offered a selection of dressings, but we all went for ginger. The salad appeared to be a blend of iceberg and romaine with a slice of cucumber and tomato. This too is a standard hibachi salad. After being served our salad, our chef appeared. He was great. We all were laughing by the time our dishes were prepared. I had scallops, average, my wife split her chicken with our youngest, not that good, and the birthday girl had shrimp, yum. Along with your main course, you also get fried rice and and assortment of vegetables, which usually consist of onion, broccoli, mushrooms, and zucchini. For the most part everything tasted the same. The dipping sauces left much to be desired. They were both way too salty. So dipping an already over salted chunk of meat or broccoli into liquefied Morton Salt was less than satisfying. We have definately had better here, and for sure at other hibachi restaurants. Its good enough if you dont want to travel too far for hibachi or sushi. SUSHI: The sushi here is maybe the best served between Madison and Milwaukee. The menu is large enough to please everyone. Even if you are dinig with someone who is not a fan of sushi, they are sure to find someting. The prices are average for sushi, and like most sushi or seafood restaurants, the price increases along with complexity. Overall, the dininr room is the way to go. The only thing keeping this from being a 3 or 4 star is the Hibachi. If they could figure that out, this place would be much better

I had Las Vegas roll for $17 and Grasshopper roll for $16. Expensive for rolls & it was terrible!! So not worth it!!!!

The sushi here is pretty good the few times I have had it. Hibachi was entertaining and good. Hibachi experiences I have had at other restaurants typically end with the meat over cooked however this turned out cooked very well. I am not a big fan of the rest of the menu as I feel most of the dishes are to Americanized. Considering the dining options in the area I will be back.

Best fish for my wife and lemon grass pork for myself we have ever eaten. I was surprised to find this wonderful restaurant in my own backyard. I will return . The service was exceptional and the waiter was very friendly. The atmosphere was inviting. We will spread the word.

10/10 perfect. Great sushi, amazing mango coconut chicken curry, and perfectly cooked sesame chicken. And our waitress Jamie could put all others to shame. Not cheap, but the quality was well worth it.

Happened to stumble across Pacific Bistro on our way back to Milwaukee and was very pleased with our experience. Based on our server's recommendation we tried the special drink which was green tea with cucumber vodka (and maybe something else) which was very delicious! Great summer drink! I selected the beef and broccoli (level 2 spicy) with extra mushroom and it was delicious. Plenty of beef, broccoli and mushrooms with a very nice sauce. A friend tried the Badger roll based on the recommendation of an employee and was very pleased with the selection. He also tried the lettuce wraps mentioned he would not order them again. Overall, very good food. Great service. Would definately visit again.

Their rolls are delicious but a bit pricey. The servers seem tired and fed up all the time, I wish it didn't seem like they are making their customers a favor by working there and they were more organized as they don't know what waiter serves what table

Terrible service I am writing this while I'm here, it's been a half hour since we were seated and all we have are drinks... Never coming back

I found the food great and service very friendly. My wife,16 year old son, and I stopped in after a shopping trip. Wish I had known of this restaurant sooner great food, Well worth the prices. We will be reserving a habachi table in the near future to try the "party service" as our server called it.

Tried out Pacific Bistro last night. Sorry, the Moscow Mules were so good I forgot to take pictures! Overall, the table was really happy with everything. The four of us shared the Grasshopper roll (no grasshoppers were harmed in the making of this roll) and the Green Bay Packer roll. Both were really good. They forgot to bring ginger and wasabi, but rectified the problem fairly quickly. Overall, the table preferred the Grasshopper roll. It was very loosely rolled so it fell apart, but the flavor was there. One weird thing about the Green Bay Packer Roll, they used smoked salmon instead of fresh as the description indicated. It was still really good, but it may have overpowered everything else on the roll. No biggie for me, I like smoked salmon. For the main entree I had the Chirashi Sushi which is an assortment of sashimi over rice. Everything on the plate was really good, and I really loved their sushi rice. There was octopus, salmon (fresh this time), tuna, and several other selections along with the sweet omelet and some avocado. Beautiful presentation, I'm so mad I forgot to snap pics. Once again though, no ginger or wasabi. My husband enjoyed the green curry. A nice level of heat and a good coconut flavor. A nice sized portion, too. Someone else had the hibachi, steak and salmon combo, which was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. Our server was very nice, and kept us updated when the bar fell behind and took a bit longer to get to our drinks. Overall a great experience with a couple minor issues that did not detract from the experience. I would gladly return again.

Lunch review: I come here for lunch every few weeks as it is a good value and great food. Lunch entrees include soup, plus ginger salad or 1 egg roll or 2 crab rangoons. I usually enjoy the pad thai or sesame chicken for the meal - which ends up costing $10.51 not including the tip.

I've been here twice whenever I'm in the area and have enjoyed my experience. The food is tasty, but the prices are a bit high. Which is why I LOVE their happy hour (4-7, I believe) during weekdays. Largely discounted sushi rolls and drinks have $1 or $2 off. Friendly staff and fast service. Nice ambiance for date night.

We had our annual Holiday party there tonight- 26 people- 3 full hibache tables. The reservation was placed well in advance for 7:30 pm. At 10:30 pm table 3 had not even been started yet. 3 tables and only 2 chefs. We gave up on our food by that time and the whole table canceled their orders. So I can not comment on the food quality. What I can comment on is poor management and planning/ Terrible!!!

I work near Pacific Bistro and on occasion when we've got a little extra time for lunch we'll stop here. They've got a decent sized lunch menu which comes with soup and/or salad and a side. I've always been quite pleased with the food - the sushi is good but on the pricier side. Service is always very attentive and helpful. Only thing keeping me from 4 stars is that it is a little on the pricier side for lunch and it's definitely not a quick meal, understandable given the nature of the cuisine but it sometimes can take over an hour even without it being anywhere near busy.

we live minutes away and since this is our only option for take-out thai in delafield we tend to eat here a couple of times a month. unfortunately, the food is incredibly overpriced for what you get (especially take out portions). we miss living in milwaukee where we could get much better curry for a fraction of the cost, excellent customer service, and decent portions to boot. the last time we ordered our bill totaled somewhere near $65 for 4 orders of curry and when we got it home one of the lids of the containers had snapped down the middle and flooded the entire bag with curry. while the restaurant did remake our food and gave us a $20 gift certificate for next time this is not a new issue for us. we've had pretty sub-par service when we've eaten in almost all of the times we've eaten here. we believe that they get away with this sub-par service and overpriced menu because they have no competition. so please someone... maybe thai kitchen? come out to delafield! we would love to have another option. in other news... the curries are delicious so there's that.

Pacific Bistro is my "go to" when I need sushi. I have turned into a bit of a sushi snob over the last year or so and this place delivers. Sue and Lam, the owners, really seem to care about making you feel at home while also delivering when it comes to fresh, delicious sushi. Their willingness to customize the rolls to suit my palate has been an adventure, yet always a home run. John always remembers my order and makes me feel welcome. Great staff, great food and a reasonable price for good sushi.

This I think is the best sushi in the Waukesha area. Asiana is a close second. Service is great and I like the cozy atmosphere. At times we will even order take out. They have never messed up or been of on taste. I am surprised about the low star average given on Yelp. Even people that like the sushi rated it low in my opinion. You won't be disappointed.

We are regulars at Pacific Bistro, so keep that in mind when I tell you this place is consistently great, and has been for years. We're big fans of the Sushi...Why you ask? Its always fresh, prepared by people who care about what they do, and care about the customers. When you eat a roll for example, you can really taste all the ingredients, especially the fish! I travel for work and enjoy great food (love Sushi), so I have the opportunity to eat at some great places coast to coast. I compare other Sushi places to Pacific Bistro all the time, including restaurants in and around the Milwaukee/Waukesha area, many other places tend to be heavy on rice and sauce, or lack the freshness of Pacific Bistro. Besides Sushi, we've had just about everything on the menu...again, consistently great! Hibachi, again great! A solid staff both front and back of house. We bring our young ones 95% of the time, so its both great for date night AND family friendly. My advise for new comers...stop in, get a drink at the bar with some Sushi to start. Then get a table, order a few different items to share. You'll be back.

I was part of a group of 7 to visit Pacific Bistro for dinner. Unfortunately, they were understaffed and really popular that evening, so service was very slow. The servers were working so hard to keep up; there just weren't enough of them on the floor. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. There's a nice big bar, a hibachi grill area, and table seating. The folks in the hibachi area sounded like they were having a ball, and the restaurant staff was really nice about letting the child in our group stand in the back with a grown-up so she could see some of the show during our long wait. On the menu, there are lots of choices. I would say the menu leans more towards the Thai and Vietnamese style of dishes overall. The starters include some of the typical favorites one would expect to see at an Asian restaurant in the US - crab rangoons, chicken satay, edamame, egg rolls, and the like. In addition to the aforementioned hibachi grill, there is also sushi and sashimi, soup and salad, curries, noodle and rice dishes, and a variety of entrees featuring meats from chicken and beef to seafood and duck. They also offer a kids menu and a gluten-free menu. Some of the folks in my group ordered crab rangoons to start, which were enjoyed. One amusing thing was that one of the rangoons had apparently exploded in the fryer and arrived empty - just a shell, no filling. Our waitress was apologetic and brought a new one, and the kitchen even went to the effort of dressing it up on a small plate with all of the garnishes, which was a nice touch. Three folks went with sushi, which they all enjoyed, although the usual side items like wasabi had to be requested - not sure if that's standard there, or if it was just the chaos of the evening. Kiddo went with the Sesame Chicken and rice, which she loved. The portion was generous, and she had plenty left for lunch for the next day. Two people ordered the pad thai, and neither of them liked it. It was described as being too sweet and the flavors not quite blending as expected for that dish. The gluten free menu had a nice range of selections, including a few items from most of the categories. I settled on the Red Curry and opted for chicken. This came in a large serving bowl with plenty of the sauce and a separate bowl of rice so I could put it together myself. I thought this dish was quite good - had a wonderful little kick and a good blend of flavors, plus plenty of meat and veggies. The portion was generous, and I had leftovers. The staff was really nice, and it may have been an off night with the combination of understaffing and so many customers, so I'd certainly be willing to visit again and see how it goes.

I had dinner there for a friend's birthday with a group of 10 people. I was greeted exceptionally well by the manager's and the waitresses, consider how busy they were on a Saturday night, they were still able to deliver great customer service. I had ordered the Lobster roll and Flaming dragon roll. The lobster roll is one of best rolls I had in along time. I have lived in California for several years before I moved to Wisconsin, but never had a real good sushi roll like the one I had in Pacific Bistro...you can really taste the freshness. I definitely would want to go back again. Overall I would say it was a wonderful experience in terms of service and the quality of the food.

I went on a Tuesday night around 7:30, and it wasn't very busy. I was impressed with the variety in there menu, including the 6 or 7 cooked options they have for sushi. I love sushi, but I am not always in the mood for raw fish, so it was nice to have the option. All of it was delicious! I highly recommend the volcano roll, the golden california roll, and the special crunch roll. I was surprised to find this place tucked away down the road from the movie theater. It is not the easiest spot to find, but totally worth it! The prices were reasonable as well.

I went here with a group of 7 and the experience was awesome! The Chef was very entertaining and the food was great. He even grabbed a club soda for the wifey when she spilled sauce on her shirt. Back to the food. The filet was great and the chef was able to cook a medium steak. ( Hard to find for me). The veggies had enough sauce on them to not be too salty. I recommend coming here, for sure. I'll be back.

What a great time we had last night at the Pacific Bistro. Normally we eat the Hibachi but wanted to try the other offerings. The service was great from everyone. The meals were absolutely fantastic thanks to the recommendations from our server. She was delightful and quite helpful. We will definitely be back.

I am surprised by the people that say this place has good sushi. My family and I are avid sushi eaters, and trust me when I say there are better options in nearby Brookfield. Pacific Bistro is closer to our house so I wish I could recommend it, but even the Chinese and hibachi options are bland and overpriced. We've had some good, some bad experiences with the service. On a positive note, the décor is nice.

Had to wait over an hour for food and it wasn't even busy! Decided to try the fish fry. Only came with two pieces and and entire plate of chips. Not worth the price. Nothing special at all. The rolls are fine but the wait for food was unbelievable. Never again.

Food was expensive and bland. Not what I expect from Thai food. Go somewhere else, you'll thank me.

My fiancé and I chose the Pacific Bistro for a recent date night and we were not disappointed. Our server Jamie was extremely helpful, offering suggestions and insight for my first venture into sake. For dinner we had the Las Vegas roll, the Hawaiian Roll, and the Winter Roll, and all three were delicious. We ended the night with champagne and the delicious Banana Ice Cream, another recommendation by Jamie. Though not our first visit here, it was one of our most enjoyable and we'll certainly be back.

Been going here for over a year. Food was good service was good until tonight. 1 hour saw our waiter once. Had to go to bar to refresh drinks. When talked to manager said he would take care of it. Never did. Then waiter became rude when we asked for the bill for our drinks that we were leaving. We will never go here again. Try Asiana in Pewaukee!

Try the walnut shrimp appetizer and a rainbow roll. You won't be disappointed, and apps are half price from 4-6. YUM

To start, my favorite restaurant for sushi is Kiku in Milwaukee. I absolutely love their Yummy Maki roll. So, when I was craving something similar while in Delafield, I ordered Pacific's Crunch roll, which uses the exact same ingredients. For using the same things, the two could not taste any different. The sushi here was incredibly small in size by comparison (for the same price), there was hardly any shrimp in the rolls, the crab offered was minuscule, and there was hardly any sauce on top. Kiku's rolls are at least three times as large and they are not stingy whatsoever on ANY ingredients. In fact, I have a difficult time finishing my rolls there. With all this in mind, I will not be ordering from Pacific Bistro again.

  • Scott C.

This is one of the best and most consistent Restaurants in Delafield. We're visiting 2 to 3 time a month. Sushi is as good or better than that in larger cities, even on the coasts. I had just about every item on the menu...solid!

  • Jason H.

For being land locked, the sushi here is top notch. This is the number one stop in my wife and I's go to when ever we get a night out. The customer service here is amazing too. The drinks are a little pricy, but there specialty drinks are well worth the larger price tag. There Vegas roll is our favorite. But we have tried them all and never been disappointed. My only complaint is they recently closed the doors on Mondays... Otherwise I would recommend to anyone.

  • Julie M.

It's not bad. It's just very generic Japanese and Chinese food.

I love the sushi, and strongly dislike the rest of the menu. The atmosphere is uncomfortable and the drinks are just ok. Nice selection of sake.

  • Carolyn F.

We have gone to a lot of sushi places in the Milwaukee and Waukesha area and this is our favorite. The rolls are so fresh and not mushy. The crunch and jalapeno rolls are favorites. I prefer Asian dishes over Chinese or Japanese so I really liked the rest of the menu too. My husband's favorite sesame chicken is here too. Friends have raved about the duck. They have a selection of local/Wisconsin wines which is a bonus.

    (5)
  • Gretchen P.

Food is pretty good, considering it is probably one of the only choices for Asian food in the area. I have been here a few times. My only complaint is the service is terrible! They must have a hard time finding waitstaff.
