Been here about 3-4 times, and every time the service sucked. Food is below average and staff is rude and unfriendly.

Each year, we go to the Hilltop for dinner at least one night during our weekend up North. This is a very typical small town supper club. The Hilltop has been a favorite of ours for their drinks and supper club salad bar and entrees. The salad bar is delicious, a very traditional Wisconsin Supper Club feeling with pasta salads, cheese and crackers, delicious deep fried breadsticks, and soup. I've always enjoyed their tenderloin steak and never left hungry!

Right on the corner of two main streets in the boonies of Wisconsin, the Hilltop Inn has big signs and supposedly great food. Hearing the food was good I convinced all of us to go out and dine on our last night up north. Apparently known for their pizza, we decided to come there for that. The odd thing about this place is there's a bar with basically nowhere to sit and then a dining area that's completely separate and almost hidden in a different room. When we arrived they were overwhelmed, but it wasn't overly crowded and they didn't seem understaffed. The drinks were normal price for up north - hovering around $3 but the pizza seemed more on the lines of the prices you'd see in the city. The pizza smelled amazing from other people's being brought out, so we ordered two larges. Pepporoni and Sausage and Sausage and cheese. It took forever for our food to be ready but when it was about to be ready they gave us a heads up so we went into the dining area. Kind of an odd way to do things, sit at the bar then get shoved to the dining area when your food is about to be ready. The breadsticks came out first, and they were piping hot and delicious hard to not spoil your appetite on them. The sausage and cheese came out first. It was huge as expected but the cheese was white and the sausages were gray like you'd see on a chain pizza. It was somewhat undercooked (as indicated by the white cheese color) which we assumed was because they were in a rush. The pepporoni and sausage came out shortly after and looked equally unimpressive with a scare amount of pepporoni approx. one piece of per square slice. We all kind of agreed the pizza didn't taste good. It wasn't terrible, but definitely not what we expected for a place known for their 'za. And that didn't help considering we ordered such a big amount. Disappointed for our last meal up north, we packed up the leftovers and head out the door. Maybe it's the big signs that get people in the door at Hilltop, because it's definitely not the food.

We have driven past Hilltop many times in the last few years, but have never stopped, but on Monday night we decided to check it out & had one of the specials...a 16" 4 topping homemade pizza w/ a pitcher of beer (choice of any beer on tap) for $15.50, what a deal!!! It was not only a good deal, but the pizza was absolutely delicious!!!!! The bartender & Wait staff were very friendly also, to add to our wonderful experience. We will definitely be back on our next camping trip up here.

We came here on 2/20/15 for dinner and our "first round" at the start of our ice fishing trip. The bar was pretty packed and the dining room which is hidden off to the side was dead. The servers were ok but the service for food was horrid. While in the bar this is your typical northern Wisconsin "get your own drink" when your sitting at tables in the bar. The food is ok once you get it but not good enough to warrant this place being at the top of your list for places to eat.

The pizza is good. Beware that the posted dining room closing time of 10 pm is not always followed. We showed up on a Friday night at 915 pm and the dining room was closed -- pizza st the bar only.

Only have been here to eat; not stay at the resort. Been in on a dead Thursday night and a hopping Saturday night. We always have the pizza. It is awesome pizza. Fresh toppings and a super thin and crispy crust. It's an up north bar, so don't expect much decor wise or service wise. Staff is friendly, and know all the locals. Love that you spend very little for a lot: large deluxe pizza, 5 garlic bread sticks, 3 SoCo Ol' Fashioneds, 2 bloofy marys, and 1 highlife for only $45.
