Yummy dinner! I'll be back. Atmosphere: For seating they have booths and seating at the sushi bar, or separate bar area with a TV. It's a bit dark but I like the feel of this place. Food: I always start with my standard seaweed & house salad. The ginger dressing is awesome. I got the Alaskan roll with fish eggs added. I love the my rice to other stuff ratio. (I very much dislike rice heavy rolls) Also had the spicy scallop, sooo good. It's spicy and has tempura flakes in it, amazing, never had it before, but I'll order 10 next time! Great place and super close to my hotel, might be my new go too when I'm in town for work!

Good Prompt Service, love the atmosphere. Food is fresh and appealing to the senses. Great place for a date - or to bring the kids. Lunch prices are great , dinner prices a bit more. Fine selections of spirits and beer . Keep up the good work

A terrific Japanese restaurant. Been going there for the past three years and thought I had completed a review. Their food is excellent, sushi, tempura, hibachi all first class. Great service, without being obtrusive always a wonderful experience. They do not have the Hibachi hotplates and the "show" which is fine by me, most shows are second rate and painful usually spoil the food I came to eat. Fujiyama is just GREAT!

My experience here was very good. It was quiet when we walked in (not even any music playing, which I did find a little odd) and we were seated immediately. The decor was pretty traditional, nothing out of the ordinary there. Our server was polite and attentive and the sushi was tasty and nicely presented. We especially liked the Firecracker and BMW rolls. I do wish that they had pictures of some of the specialty rolls on the menu. Overall, Fujiyama was a good choice for sushi Sunday!

I tried a new sushi place for dinner last night. Well it wasn't exactly new, just a location that I hadn't been to before. Looking over the menu didn't offer me any level of confirmation that this would be a good experience; they had absolutely NO pictures of their food. I don't know about you but I definitely eat with my eyes so it was a bit disappointing that I only had descriptions to go off of. I was adventurous and ordered the Love Boat For Two $54.95- 16 pieces sashimi(tuna, salmon, yellowtail, whitefish), 12 pieces sushi (shrimp, salmon, whitefish, yellowtail, tuna), 1 Dragon roll (eel, cucumber, avocado wrapped in seaweed and rice), 1 California roll (crabmeat, avocado, and cucumber wrapped in seaweed and rice), and 1 Tuna roll (tuna and cucumber wrapped in seaweed and rice). It also comes with soup and salad for 2. The soup and salad was delicious as always and the majority of the boat was delightful. The sashimi was cut a little too thick for me to indulge. As a matter of fact, I have it in the fridge and I will be cooking it and eating with a salad. lol The Dragon roll, California roll, and the shrimp pieces are sushi standards for me but the whitefish sushi and the tuna roll were awesome surprises! I haven't decided if I would order this again but will definitely continue going to both locations and I am definitely glad I ventured out of my comfort zone. Service was outstanding as always! Until next time...eat well!

I lived in Milwaukee for 6 months while working and this is the best sushi place I could find. It is a bit away from the city but it is worth the drive if you're looking for a good place. They had so many different sushi rolls to choose from. BMW roll was great! There was 4 of us and we all got several and there was not a bad roll in the mix.

Clear soup had very little flavor. Was more like hot water with a couple of thin mushrooms, a couple of diced green onions and a couple of noodles. Hubby said adding a little soy sauce at least fave it some seasoning. Hibachi was very good, as was the salad. Coke was watery. Waitress was very sweet. I've had a much better experience at other Japanese restaurants, though.

Overall, I was very pleased with my experience at Fujiyama! First off, I would never guess this place is as spacious from the outside. The inside is beautiful! We ordered miso soup, seaweed salads, and three specialty rolls. All were fantastic and displayed to perfection! We topped off the night with a green tea ice cream - delicious! Our server was quote the gentleman - friendly, professional, and displaying good manners. Finally, I think it's worth noting the portion sizes were substantially more than I would have expected. We are sure to return to this wonderful place!

Fantastic. Large variety of maki rolls. $1.00 extra to add cream cheese to any maki roll. They were flexible and concerned about our happiness throughout the meal. Good food is rare in these parts and great sushi is a treasure find. I struck gold toady and will definitely return.

Sean and I stopped into Fujiyama after we leased a new car from Wilde Honda. So it was a celebration dinner, sort of -- our experience at the car dealership was stressful, so we were looking forward to unwinding at Fujiyama. Right away, I will say that what sets Fujiyama apart from other sushi restaurants is their service. They bring you hot wet wipes as soon as your seated, so that you can wipe away the germs from your hands before eating. A really nice touch. Plus, our server was very attentive but yet did not hover, which was great. The house salads were meh. Both of us weren't fans of the dressing -- too mayo-y, not enough flavor -- but the greens were crisp and fresh. We ordered the Angel Roll and the Sushi and Sashimi Dinner. The Angel Roll was a m a z i n g. It was a perfect harmony of crunchy and soft, and the flavor was out of this world. Best sushi roll I've had in a long time. As far as the sushi/sashimi is concerned -- they give you thick slabs of fish, but I really was not a fan of the taste and texture. I didn't like the sashimi at all, even though I typically prefer sashimi to rolls and sushi. The fish was tasteless, which was unfortunate. We're not ruling out Fujiyama -- we'll be back for their rolls and their impeccable service, but we'll stay away from sashimi!

Went here for the half price rolls on a Tuesday for lunch. My boyfriend and I have very picky tastes about sushi and are partial to another sushi restaurant in town. I was skeptical of this place but figured we'd try it since it was close to work and half price. The rolls are almost half price. They have a monday and tuesday lunch menu that has the pricing for the rolls and other specials on it. The prices were still less than normal but not quite half price. (ex: 14.99 roll was 8.50) We ordered 4 rolls to share. The server was very nice and attentive. The place was moderately busy but they seamed adequately staffed and we only waited about 7-10 minutes for our rolls to be made. The rolls were really good! They had a great texture and the sauces really made it for me. Each one was unique and the presentation was beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised that Fujiyama matched my favorite sushi place. We had plenty of sushi for 2 people and actually ended up taking about 1/3 of it home. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick sushi lunch on a Monday or Tuesday.

Always immensely satisfied with both their sushi and hibachi! Their fish is always tasting fresh and has good texture. I usually get the tuna and avocado, spicy tuna, and salmon and avocado rolls. The creaminess of the avocado fits perfectly with the tender fish and their spicy tuna is delicious! Their steak hibachi is always cooked perfectly and the shrimps in the hibachi are HUGE! it's always nice to be served by their nice staff. Also I never have to wait long for my food to come out. I've multiple sushi restaurants in Milwaukee and outside and this Fujiyama is one of the best!

Staff was nice and the food was pretty good. Had an eel, dynamite, and spicy tuna roll. The eel and dynamite were good but the tuna was exceptional. We also ordered the chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu. Both were ok, however the vegetables that come with the chicken teriyaki are definitely previously frozen which is dissapointing. We'll be back to try other sushi but won't be having the chicken teriyaki again.

One of my favorite sushi places, I always get the cooked sushi. They have a Monday and Tuesday lunch special that is such a good deal! If you are not into sea food the cucumber roll is really good especially with the spicy mayo!! The employees are all very nice as well, made sure we enjoyed our meal and as soon as our drinks were getting low they would ask if we wanted another.

I'm sure I'll end up saying what everyone else has said... I concur! ...Okay real review time. A favorite of some friends of mine - we always go for the sushi - mainly the special rolls. Similar to any other place where the rolls have Americanized flavors with strange names, but what can I say, they're my favorite. I also like that the rolls are pretty significantly sized, even though you end up embarrassed as you try to either eat a piece in two bites, or as I always do, the unattractive attempt at stuffing the whole thing in your mouth at once. Hey what can I say, I like all the flavors all at once! I also like that they're pretty accommodating, as they've taken certain ingredients out and added other things when dining with my friend who has gluten sensitivities. Is it my favorite Japanese place, definitely not, but will I go back, definitely.

Fujiyama in Brookfield is a solid sushi selection for the Milwaukee area. As others have mentioned, Monday and Tuesday nights offer discounted rolls. However, stopped in on a Thursday evening and was pleased to see some "Happy Hour" specials - including drinks and discounts on some apps. We arrived early, 5 p.m., and the place was nice and quiet...just a few other tables grabbing early dinner with us. Our server was polite and attentive, and some warm towelettes prepared us to order. We started with a Gyoza (delicious, nice sear on the bottom) and a seaweed salad (my first time...good flavor on the dressing). I ordered a Rock N Roll (specialty, so tasty I'd order again) and a Sweet Potato roll and was very happy with the taste, presentation, and serving size - my rolls were generous without being too large. My plus one enjoyed the Spicy Scallop and the BMW and was very pleased with both. For a beer, two apps, and 4 nice-sized rolls, we made it out for less than $50 with very full bellies...a good value for quality sushi and a nice dining experience.

I've never had such jumbo-sized sushi in my life. The sushi here is HUGE. And pretty delicious. Lunch specials are great. I had the bento box, you get to pick what you want in your box. Green tea is free. They have special prices for sushi rolls on Monday and Tuesday, they also have happy hour prices. The sushi here isn't too authentic, lots of fake rolls, but nevertheless, delicious.

One of the better places I've been to for sushi. Lot's of variety and choices. Good descriptions of the sushi on the menu for novices like myself and the staff is kind when explaining the sushi, as well. Beautiful presentation. I need to try their hibachi sometime as I've heard they are great.

I consider myself to be rather new to the world of sushi... I only started actually eating sushi about 3 years ago and really in the past year, it has become one of my absolute favorite foods. Fujiyama has become my absolute go to place for sushi. I've tried many places, including some of the more pricey downtown joints, but none compare to Fujiyama. Some of my favorites include the Tuna Amazing Roll, the Milwaukee Roll, the Angry Bird Roll, the Crazy Tuna Roll and the Dynamite Roll. Anything with their "spicy sauce" is incredible. The fish is always incredibly fresh as well. I've come here a few times with a friend of mine who is gluten free and they are always able to accommodate changes to the rolls to make them gluten free and have gluten free soy sauce for her as well! The servers are always quite attentive and friendly as well. Every time I have been, even if I don't order desert, they bring some sort of fruit (usually with whipped cream) out at the end of the meal. I would highly recommend this place to anyone over more expensive and "trendy" sushi places in the Milwaukee area.

At 2:30PM reservations for a party of three at 6:30PM that same evening. Whilst making reservations, I told them we would be celebrating my fathers birthday. They assured me they would be prepared and do something "special" for his 58th birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were a little surprised by how small and casual the place seemed. This may not necessarily be a bad thing, but we were hoping for something more upscale, and the single photo you can find on the Internet seems to misrepresent how formal the place is. Even though I made an earlier reservation, we were sadly sat in the middle of the small room. There is only a foot's distance between the end of your table and the next table. The staff also use these narrow passages to move around the room, so I found myself slightly irritated by the lack of privacy. I felt like I was eating in the middle of a kitchen to be honest. Also, as I said we were celebrating my fathers Birthday. The table next to us seemed to be having a very quiet dinner and I saw them glaring at us for talking a reasonable volume. We were by no means loud or yelling, but at such a close distance is was angering the other table who seemed like much quieter people. A good thing was the staff was very kind. And they certainly hustled. A drink was never empty before offering a refill. She constantly came back to assure the quality of the food. She was extremely friendly. The basic rolls were extremely affordable, but any special roll was way overpriced from my sushi aficionado experience. NOW, as for the quality of the food, let me release a disclaimer that I just moved from LA where sushi establishments are plenty. This can not compare. I've also eaten at ten or so Japanese restaurants in Illinois, and they had better sushi than this place. The sushi here was good, but that's because I truly love sushi. I have actually worked in a sushi restaurant. I finished all my rolls happily, but I would never say the sushi was amazing. It's better than an all you can eat sushi buffet, but bottom 3 sushi restaurants I've experienced in other states. I wouldn't mind going here again, but I would want to try somewhere else if it was my decision.

I go to Fujiyama all the time. I admit to being addicted. They have great sushi and if you go on Monday and Tuesday, the prices are lower so you can get even more great sushi. If you haven't been there, you should. I like so much.

A great deal on Mondays and Tuesdays! At least 30% discount on many menu items. Gets very busy around 6pm, so try to get there earlier. Enjoyed the Sake Maki and the Naked Girl Roll. Wished the Seafood Tempura Roll was more flavorful. The servers kept bumping into our table as they ran around to other patrons, so we'll request a booth next time - none were available when we showed up on Tuesday at 5:30.

1st impression was not the best, greeted by a sullen and grumpy Asian girl, she was not happy, i sat at sushi bar, alone, 6:45pm on Wednesday, not busy at all. 2 sushi chefs, Kani salad, huge helping , very mild, not bland, but close, could use more flavor. Then a spicy tuna bowl, baseball size ball of spicy tuna and tempura crunch surrounded by BBQ Pringles, but not spicy, I asked them 'how spicy' they say not very, so I say spice it up, he mixes in a healthy shot of Siracha hot sauce, and still it was not spicy? Then a Lexus roll, loaded with spicy tuna and more tuna, pretty good roll, all the fish looked and tasted fresh. I suspect the "spicy" mixed fish was a prepared item, maybe from a Japanese restaurant food service place. Special Roll prices were 13 to 20$$, but good size rolls. They don't overload you with rice rolls. A fellow diner was having a birthday, that got load and obnoxious, not the dinner, the staff, load music, disco lights etc, could have done without that. 1salad, 1 app, 1 roll, 2 cocktails, $48.00. I should have come on Mon, Tues, for the discount rolls.

Amazing sushi!!! So filling and delicious, this is always an amazing sushi destination for a celebration or family event or just a night out. The rolls here are delicious and the sashimi is also amazing. I have never gotten sick off of the food and the staff is kind as can be. That being said this place is a little pricey, but the food makes up for it. Congratulations to the staff and chefs for creating the best sushi in Milwaukee!

This is by far my wife's favorite sushi place. Unfortunately we just don't go often enough! The fresh fruit after the meal is always a nice treat.

I think I like this location better than the one on Hwy 100. It's smaller, (somewhat) quieter and the food is just as good. We had heard they have good sushi specials on Monday & Tuesday and stopped to check it out. First - the sushi specials are no secret - it's a small place and gets very crowded so come early or be prepared to wait. Second - it doesn't look like it's really "half price" but many rolls are discounted by a few dollars. Even if you don't make it on M-Tu, they offer "happy hour" prices on many rolls during the week. There are also specials on drinks and bites, so it might be a nice place to hang for a few drinks if you're not too hungry. Third - despite the crowd, the sushi guys were hustling as were the servers. Our stuff came out fairly quickly and drinks were consistently replenished. No complaints on service. Fourth - the sushi was pretty good. Not the greatest or most creative, but I wasn't paying those prices. My overall complaint about Fujiyama (both locations) is that the rolls are too large and loosely rolled. It's hard to eat a piece in one bite and many times it just falls apart. That said, there was plenty of "stuff" in the rolls and not just rice. This Fujiyama location is a solid performer and a good go-to for a sushi date on a budget.

love this place! Their rolls are amazing. It gets better and better every year. The chef comes up with unique menu. Portions are generous and price is reasonable. The girls that work there are friendly and service is always great. On your birthday they will make you birthday balloon hat, turn on the music and disco lights and sing happy birthday to you with a special fruit cake with candle. That is very special!! Love it! I Highly recommend.

This is the second time I eat there. Everything is great! The waitress can remember me, even she was not the one who served me last time. She even knows what I ordered last time! I placed a special order that they do not have on the menu. They paid enough patient to understand what I want, and then brought a great thing just like what I described. I have to say their work is efficiency, and you even don't feel they are in a hurry.

Never would have guessed from the outside that this place would be so nice! I'm a fan of the Happy Hour Specials. Attentive wait staff Annoying birthday display which lasted about 30 seconds too long. Rolls are big and kinda hard to eat because of size.

We ordered teriyaki tuna, which was supposed to come with vegetables and it was served with minced tuna steak- over cooked with a side of frozen mixed vegetables- corn, carrots and peas.. Yuck! We sent it back telling them we wanted the tuna cooked medium and wanted real vegetables. The revised meal came 20 minutes later, overcooked tuna, again and a few pieces of broccoli and onion. Very disappointing for $17.00.

Sashimi was awesome, a little cold in the middle (almost frozen) but it tasted great, and was quite fresh! Service was awesome, had 2-3 people waiting on me and needed nothing the entire evening. Great experience, I'll be back for sure.

This is my third visit to Fujiyama and I can't say anything bad about the place despite my misgivings about a Chinese run Japanese restaurant. Bottom line up front, this place is consistently mediocre. The rice in the rolls and sushi is always a little on the mushy side. The variety of rolls is pretty good if you like lobster salad -- they put it in nearly everything. They are pretty skimpy on the seaweed salad which is otherwise tasty. Service has always been their best quality. Overall, the value is a little on the low side given their relatively high prices. I would go back but I can't say it's Milwaukee's best.

I stopped in at Fujiyama on a Sunday afternoon at 3:30PM for some early-dinner/late-lunch sushi. I had just moved into the area, and had been meaning to try this place out. There were only 3 or so other tables occupied, and we were immediately seated and had an order in within 10 minutes. A short time later, our four rolls were served. We ordered two common rolls (a Philadelphia and a Spider) and two "Specialty" rolls off of a separate menu (a "2012" roll and a "BMW"). All rolls were delicious and presented beautifully, but the specialty rolls out-shined the others by far. The Spider roll has always been a favorite of mine, but I will not get it again when I have the option of one of the specialty rolls! Highly recommended. All in all, the sushi quality was very solid for what I'd expect from this area, and very reasonably priced. The Philadelphia was $5.50, the Spider $8.00, and the specialty rolls were $13 and $16 (WELL worth it for their size and contents). The service was evenly paced (We didn't feel rushed at all), and our waitress was extremely accommodating. She even brought us a small dessert of fruit and creme to share at the end of our meal (we didn't order it... we're not sure if this is standard practice or not). I'd also like to note that other reviews have indicated the noise level at "loud". I didn't think so. The sound of the Chefs making sushi was present, but not obnoxious, and the overall noise level of the restaurant was very normal, I thought. The only time that it seemed loud was when they sang someone happy birthday (complete with sparkling candle, balloon hat, and Polaroid!), which was brief and humorous. I'd definitely recommend Fujiyama, and I'll definitely be visiting again.

This place is great for a sushi lover's lunch! The food is outstanding, the service is prompt, the prices are great, and the best part is they are actually fast to bring your order out. My colleague and I come here often for a sushi fix during work hours and we have been pleased every time.

A great experience! I usually on go on Monday or Tuesday for half-off sushi, but my boyfriend and I went on a Saturday for date night. Started the meal with miso soup and salad, both delicious. Ordered 4 rolls for both of us to share, which was more than enough and allowed us to take home some leftovers. We were too full for dessert, but they brought out some orange slices and pineapple cubes with our check- a nice touch! Bill was reasonably priced; so I am no longer locked into visiting only on Mondays and Tuesdays!

When I travel on biz it usually takes about three days to start getting a weird stomach. It is just so hard to eat healthy on the road and stay away from back to back drinking when you are getting together with friends and colleagues. My fix is usually a night or two at Fujiyama which I have found to be the best sushi in the Brookfield area and even the downtown MKE area. It is well lit and has nice atmosphere including service that is always excellent. The Miso soup always hits the spot on a cold WI day as does a nice cup of green tea to take care of the belly. The sushi is good but I have not been blown away by anything after about ten visits. The prices are very good for what you get and they have a reasonable variety on their menu of fish. I have never had any issues with the quality of the fish but sometimes find that their Hamachi (yellowtail) has a little extra fishiness to it. Everything else has been quite good and many of their rolls on special are excellent as well. I have never tried any of their cooked food so I am unable to comment there but it does seem a bit overloaded with Teriyaki with only a handful of other items. Despite the very friendly and sweet wait staff, the sushi chefs do not interact with the bar customers much. They are kind and always greet you but that is about it until you leave. Perhaps there is a language barrier but even the ordering is done through the staff rather than the chefs directly which I always find a little weird and unnatural.

Superb! Absolutely superb! I love this place, go there as often as I can, which has been anywhere from a few times a week to every few weeks, for their sushi, at the sushi bar. I've become quite a discriminating sushi fan during my life, and have had a lot of it. And I can say quite confidently that the sushi I've had here has ranked near the top of my list for value for the money paid, and for taste, as well as for a delightful experience. The wait staff is excellent, attentive, and very courteous. They always start off with a nice hot hand towel to wipe off your hands. Soda refills are anticipated, and free. The sushi bar is a pleasant place to sit and eat, and enjoy a zen-ful, tasty experience. Fujiyama's sushi portions are large, fresh, and very tasty. I have not ever been disappointed in what arrives on my tray. Consistent goodness is what I have found. Most of the time after ordering the deluxe sushi, they offer me a orange and pineapple treat at the end, stating that it is "on the house'. Much appreciated, and a nice way to end the meal. A true treasure of a find; go there for the sushi and you won't be disappointed!

Busy, you say? Well not today during lunch. I think there were customers at two tables, and my take-out order was ready in about 10 minutes. Today I went for the Fujiyama roll, as well as the California and Philadelphia. Looking back, I should have got something besides the Philadelphia, as the Fujiyama is pretty much a Philadelphia with spicy tuna on top. No worries though, as all three were really good with super fresh flavors! Like others have said, the serving sizes here are huge. Thank goodness I had lunch at home because these were not quite one-bite rolls, and things got a little bit messy.

My goto place for sushi. Their Monday and Tuesday specials are awesome. The staff is friendly and the sushi chefs can make anything you can dream up. My family love their hibachi dinners. The perfect place to celebrate your birthday and get your picture on the wall.

I love this place! Small but usually packed during lunch, friendly staff, and best of all, great food! A little far off for me, but still go back often because their food is so good. I've had their udon, which is really good. Actually, I've had it about 4 times. It's a hit or miss, though. For some reason, it's not as good on some days. I think it depends on who is working the kitchen that day? Their spicy salmon and spicy tuna is outstanding. Always packed full with fish. And the shrimp tempura... yum...! All in all, they are not stingy with their ingredients, which make for good food. One of my favorite places in Milwaukee.

Went to Fujiyama for a Birthday Celebration. We ordered the sushi dinner for 2 (~$40). The 18 pieces of sashimi 1/3 of them were okay and the rest really were not up to par. The sushi rolls were way too big - too much of a party in my mouth, really biting a sushi roll in half is a disaster so going for the one bite is all that you are left with. By the time you get the roll in your mouth there is sushi roll bulging each cheek like a chipmunk. Reviews said that the size of servings is good but really to savor a good sushi roll there is an adequate size, Fujiyama is beyond that. Free birthday dessert was provided: fried bananas with cool whip and pineapple BUT most importantly a goofy balloon hat, flashing lights, and a funny birthday song played over the PA system! Interesting music choice.... did not help set up the Japanese atmosphere

Above average Japanese restaurant with tasty food and reasonable prices. Favorite dishes include, Seaweed Salad, Beef Negimaki, Nabeyaki Udon, Tofu Teriyaki, and Salmon Teriyaki. Favorite sushi/rolls include, Eel/Avocado, Alaska Roll, Futo Maki, Spider Roll, and Dragon Roll. Fujiyama is great for lunch or dinner. They have a nice lunch special menu. Hot green tea is always free! Only complaint is the inconsistent service experiences. The newer waiters or waitresses are not trained properly, leading to poor customer service. However, the experienced waitstaff is always excellent.

I was greeted and seated right away, and this was a plus, as I just got done training. I was pooped and hungry, and I got my water and tea with the quickness! Not only that, the sushi chefs were actually Japanese. This makes the place great! Some ones I run into are anything but Japanese sushi chefs, which I think does not make it a good sushi place to begin with. I picked out my sushi and was served pretty quick too. I sat at the bar and everyone that sat down was pretty friendly too. Even one guy offered me to try one of the sushi rolls he got as it was a special, but I kindly declined, as I did not want to ruin someone's dinner. I definitely would come back, once a week if I could, but I don't live here. But a great sushi place in my book. And I am so picky, but THIS place, you definitely have to stop by and see for yourself. Thank you to Kaycee from Doubletree for recommending this place too! =)

Delish! Visiting from out of town and the place is great. Loved the options and settled on Pink Lady Roll - YUM. Will definitely come back when I come back to Milwaukee.

We went last week for lunch, and I was blown away by just how good the food and service was. First, our server was outstanding. He was very nice guy who was friendly, attentive, and helpful. I have been here before, and I have also been to the West Allis location. It was always decent, especially on half-price days. They seem to have really stepped their game up in the Brookfield location. I am going to the West Allis location for dinner tonight, and I am interested to see if that one is also better than ever. Now to the food. I had no idea they offered a 3 roll lunch special every day for under $12. Not to mention the fact that they let you order a Philadelphia with the lunch special, which other places in the area do not allow (Takara/Tokyo). The rolls were expertly prepared, and very large. They did not have too much rice, and there was a ton of filling, no matter the roll. I couldn't even eat all three.

Been a regular here for years, the best sushi in the Milwaukee area. Nice staff and Tuesdays with half prices rolls is a great deal!

Great place worth coming back to. The staff extremely friendly and the food is delicious. I always recommend the spicy rolls and the basic rolls. The uni sushi is good. The green tea has more flavor than many.

I was very impressed with the service and quality of food. We started with a firecracker roll which was amazing. Then we ordered hibachi and the food was very well cooked. Service was impeccable and the martinis were delicious. I will be back for sure.

Not a happy camper. I have always had good sushi at this Fujiyama location but an experience today has left me with a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. The rolls Fujiyama servers tend to be on the larger side of what you receive at other Sushi restaurants, so for a Milwaukeean that is a good thing ;) However on my two roll maki lunch today was a long black hair that laid across both sets of rolls. I brought this to my servers attention and she promptly took them back. I was surprised when she came back so quickly with "new" rolls. However when I looked more closely it appears the Sushi cooks, just flipped the rolls over and served them again them to me, because none of them took the time to remove the hair, which was now on the bottom of the rolls, instead of the top. Although the manager was apologetic, she only offered to charge me 50% off the cost of my $9.75 meal. That was not satisfactory to me, especially when it happened twice. I know stuff like this happens, but to try and serve the same food to me is very bush league and I expected more from Fujiyama. Sorry, but that was my last visit to this location.

Yeah, I know - sushi in Milwaukee? After having spent months in the Seattle area (never mind that there's basically no sushi to be had in Port Angeles)? But it sounded so good as I drove past. Very reasonably priced, with an enormous menu of specialties, and the place was packed, to boot. I grabbed a seat at the sushi bar (the only bar seat I really like...I've never liked eating at the bar, even though I also hate taking real tables from the wait staff when I come in as a single diner) and browsed the menu. I wasn't super hungry, so i ordered a simple spicy yellowtail roll, and the "mars roll" - spicy/crunchy lobster salad inside, and tuna and salmon outside. The spicy roll was good, and as I mentioned, really reasonably priced. Nice flavor, good spice, and a little crunch in it too, which I didn't expect, but did appreciate. The Mars roll was enormous, and a bit pricier although I think there was a special that night, so it was a bit cheaper than listed), with a ton of crunchy and very mildly spicy lobster salad (could have used more heat, to my taste) and nice salmon/tuna slices on top. By the time I finished, I was stuffed. Good thing cooler heads prevailed and I passed on seaweed salad, which I can rarely resist. Anyway. Pleasantly surprised. Very nice looking menu, perfectly serviceable food, and pretty decent service too. No complaints, especially in suburban Milwaukee - which may have a booming sushi culture...but isn't really what I expect the area to specialize in.

Our go-to sushi place! Consistently delicious food, great service, very friendly staff. Prices are also fair. We always leave stuffed. Eyes are bigger than our stomachs!

I had the shumai for an appetizer which were done very well and the sauce was nice. I then had the sashimi with a roll for dinner. The assorted fish was fresh but the roll was a bit plain that was included. Overall I would return and I think it is a solid place to grab a good dinner.

House salad was a little heavy on the iceberg lettuce, a couple spinach leaves would've helped. The house dressing was awesome. Soup came after (in the middle of) my salad. Upgraded to seafood soup, good but too big of chunks (or spoon too small). Teriyaki Tofu & Veggies, the sauce was good but could have used more veggies and less tofu.

I LOVED Fujiyama and their half price Monday and Tuesdays. I've even gone there on days other than that, I liked it so much. The rolls at Fujiyama are awesome. My experience recently has forever made me hate Fujiyama. We came during a busy lunch rush. Okay. We understand your busy. It took us a half hour after ordering to get our food. Okay. We understand. What I don't understand is why the table next to us was seated after us, ordered 15 minutes after us, and got their rolls 5 minutes BEFORE us! We complained to the waitress who informed us that she 'wasn't going to deal with this'. Her manager or the owner came who never apologized, but instead gave us excuses about their order being smaller (it was one less roll) and the cook being slow. I was not offered a discount or apology, either would have sufficed this regular customer's bad experience. This is clearly a lesson in what not to do in customer service. I don't write scathing reviews, and this almost pains me to do so, but I need to get the word out about the customer service (or lack thereof) here.

My husband and I go here often on Monday nights, when much of the sushi menu is discounted. Over the years, we've ordered many different rolls, and I can't ever recall one that was not fresh nor flavorful. We have always had good, quick service even when they are super busy. The one downside is that the dining room is tiny and cramped, and can get quite loud. I prefer my dining experiences to be a little more spacious and relaxed, but the food is always so good I'm willing to put up with it. We've never had to wait for a table, but then again, it always seems like we get the only open table. Fujiyama is my go-to for Sushi.

  • Anne D.

My husband and I go whenever we are in town! Service is just ok but make a reservation if it is Monday or Tuesday night because of their specials. Rolls are HUGE, we had BMW roll which is awesome and 10 pieces, and the saki maki is awesome too! Sashimi is very fresh and large pieces (also part of the special). Seaweed salad is also delicious. Defiantly recommend!

Again, it's all about perspective. This place is very average. What I don't understand is why isn't chirashi sushi available at lunch? EVERY sushi joint on both coasts serve chirashi at lunch. In fact for many places it's one of their best sellers. So instead we ordered the sashimi lunch. Pretty much the same amount of fish as the chirashi. It came with. Chirashi has rice. With either you get miso soup and a salad. But the sashimi lunch was a few bucks less than the chirashi. Stupid decision to not sell chirashi at lunch.

I've been going here since my college years. Love the half price sushi days! Monday and Tuesdays. It does get really crowded though, so your basically sitting next to a stranger. But what can you do. The newer staff are very attentive and respectful. The older staff did not speak english well, and would make weird comments. But that has all changed. Would recommend!

Fujiyama's in Brookfield is good. Not amazing, but good. On my most recent visit I had two of my favorite rolls- a Philadelphia roll and a Spider roll. The salmon in the Philly roll was really fresh. I like how they offer you a warm hand cloth at the beginning of the meal and orange and pineapple at the end. The service was decent, but nothing special. They should add some plum wine to the menu, it's a shame they don't have any. This Fujiyama's is not my favorite sushi restaurant but it's a fairly solid choice.

I love this place! Every time I've gone, the service has been awesome, the food and drinks have been great, and I leave very satisfied. It's a pretty busy place, but I've never felt like I got the short end of the stick going here. They have awesome deals on Mondays and Tuesdays and the quality of the food never declines as result of how busy they get or how affordable it is!

As someone who eats out at restaurants all the time, I am SHOCKED at how rude and horrible the service is at this restaurant. In an effort to make plans for a nice family dinner, my mother called the restaurant ahead of time to ask if they had any dinner hibachi specials on Monday. Not only could she not understand what the person was saying, he hung up on her in the middle of one of her questions. She asked me to call back, and I must have reached the same person. Do you know what he said to me? "Why you call me three times?!?" I calmly explained this was the first and only time that I, myself had called him. He then barked on the phone that he had caller ID and that he did not have time for this, asking me "What do you want now?!" I didn't even get a chance to ask about the specials, as the person who answered the phone was just so rude! As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry and retail industry, I am shocked at how horrible the service was. Having eaten at Fujiyama before, we thought it would be nice to have a nice family dinner since I am back from law school, and my sister is back from Texas, but after being hung up on and barked at, needless to say, we will NOT be eating at Fujiyama anymore. The food is not the best sushi and Japanese cuisine in Brookfield, and while their specials are pretty good, there are plenty of other better sushi restaurants in the area with much better service.

Love this place! They have deals on rolls on Mondays and Tuesdays which make them super affordable. They have quite a selection of rolls and lots of vegetarian options too! They start your meal with a hot towel to clean your hands which is so nice. My only complaint is that if you go on Monday or Tuesday when they have the deals it is so busy you will get rushed out the door. Dont go if you expect to chat with your group for a while. As soon as you're done eating a manager will come around and ask you to leave the table so they can seat someone coming in. It's fair since they are so busy, it's just not a place to relax and hang out.

Such a warm welcome. The server provided warm sanitizing towels before eating. Sushi was so delicious. It was priced very well for portioned sized. My friend and I usually eat 4-5 rolls at RA Sushi and here we had 4 and couldn't even finish. Very excellent!! The atmosphere was also awesome, would definitely recommend and visit again soon!

Fujiyama is a regular lunch stop for me & some of my co-workers. Prices are good, food is solidly consistent, service is quick and pleasant. Appears to be under different management than the West Allis location. Menu is slightly different but the food is just as good. Menu items may be typical fare but they do it well at Fujiyama. Cant go wrong here.

First time EVER with a bad review of this place, but I think the 'attitude' of the staff prompted this more than anything else. Have eaten at this location and West Allis for years and have recommended to others countless times. Have had take-out multiple times. This time, placed order and took home to eat. Sashimi salmon had more texture than we like but ok. The Benz roll, which features salmon, had pieces that were inedible. Brown or silvery (sinewy) strands running through it. Either a poorly cut piece, or a lesser quality piece. The sushi chef's knife hadn't even been able to separate the two pieces of the roll. Called and received a defensive reply about the quality of the fish. Yeah, we know, we were surprised too. Had we lived closer, we would have taken it right back to show them what we meant. Was offered a replacement roll next time we come, but really, the attitude was not cool. Don't defend a bad piece of fish, or a poorly cut one-offer your apologies to the customer, who understands that these things happen, but don't risk losing 2 long-term customers, which you may have done. It's made me rethink Fujiyama, and in doing so, I have to agree with another reviewer that the rolls are just getting too big, and loosely rolled. They should not fall apart like they have been; they're a challenge to eat gracefully! And were are the days when sitting at the sushi bar was an experience worth tipping extra for? No crab salad anymore? In hindsight, it may be time to break up with you Fujiyama....there are other fish in the sea.

Toot toot - all aboard ! Sushi at Fujiyama is very good. I highly recommend the Love Boat for Two. This actual wooden boat is loaded with Sashimi and Sushi Rolls, and is typically the Dragon Roll and one Chef's choice, which is a great way to try new rolls. Ate there last night with two other people, and we got the Love Boat for Two and added one additional BMW Roll......on the boat of course. BMW roll was fantastic, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The restaurant is smaller, located in a strip mall off Bluemound and Calhoun, but what they lack in ambiance they make up for with delicious food ! I need to try it on Monday/Tuesday nights as they have select rolls 30-50% off.

Fujiyama is amazing. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Their rolls are outstanding and the portions are huge. I have tried well over a dozen different rolls and each time I end up having a new favorite. The service here is great. The server I always seem to get is always attentive and makes great recommendations so I've tried many different rolls that I may not have otherwise. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Brookfield and try to eat here whenever possible. Thinking about it now makes me hungry for sushi! Even sushi-snobs will find something to love about this place.

I don't think all the obviously sushi illiterate people that gave this place a good rating know what they're talking about. Fujiyama is sub-par. Their hamachi sushi looks sick...as in it looks ill. The color of phlegm and breaking down, I put it aside when I saw it. That alone was enough to deter me from the roll. The miso soup was fine, but then again, I've gotten better miso from a street car in Chicago. It's too bad I got take out or I would've returned it. Unfortunately, I don't have time for that. Needless to say, I'm never eating here again. For all you Cheeseheads in the Milwaukee area. Check out Izumi's.

BEST sushi special you can get on monday and tuesdays! Be careful when you go tho, the wait after work can be insane. I have been to both locations more times than should be allowed in a lifetime, but I crave sushi all the time! I have had better sushi rolls, so I feel like this is a good place for sushi beginners, but their Vegetable gyoza is unbeatable! If you don't know what that is, order it next time you go, it also comes with meat if you choose. It's cheap, yet does the job. Addicted!!

LOVE this place. Excellent sushi and soups, really nice staff that remembers you, and amazingly cheap prices (compared to what I'm used to.) I've been back FOUR times (whenever I visit Brookfield) and will continue to do so. High-quality, delicious, healthy food at a reasonable price.

Extremely busy, but I was eating alone so I was seated right away at the sushi bar. Wait staff was very fast food was excellent. I'm only in town for a week, but I might have to go there again before I leave. Sushi was fresh beer was cold, the rice was sticky and the wasabi was blistering hot like it should be. What more can you ask for. I found the prices to be reasonable. 7 peaces of sushi and a California roll plus a Sapporo for 23.00.

Very good! My coworker and I ordered from here on two separate occasions. Each time the food was excellent and well-packaged. The service (for take-out) was on par. They did forget to pack one of our entrees and when we called back, they compensated by making a brand new one for us and gave us another entree, free-of-charge. While we waited at the bar for our orders, they offered us some Japanese cookies to nibble on. The interior is beautiful and clean, ample parking.

Went on a Tuesday during the special with a couple guys from work. We received a large amount of good quality sushi for a small price. The value is incredible and thr service was very good. Never wanted for a refill of drinkage. I will definitely be back.

So I just tried their fried ice cream and it was well worth the calories. A little sad that they don't offer green tea ice cream for their fried ice cream but I got over it. Definitely worth it to get it to share with 2-3 people.

Fujiyama's newest location on Bluemound in Brookfield is a great addition to the chain. Very bright, very clean, pleasant staff. And it's nice and close to lots of coffee and dessert places if you're looking to stop elsewhere before or after you eat. It's pricier than Yokoso in the Westpoint Plaza a couple of blocks farther west on Bluemound, and about the same or slightly cheaper than Kou You (now... Takami?) a couple of blocks farther east on Bluemound. The serving sizes are about average for a sushi restaurant in this area. Which is to say: disappointingly small for the price. But they do offer some mighty tasty dishes, and you'll be paying only a few dollars more per serving than you'd pay for most other meals at a Bluemound restaurant, so it all works out in the end. My faves there are the rainbow roll and pretty much any of the sashimi offerings. The fish is fresh and tasty and presented very simply but beautifully.

Well, my boyfriend and I have been going to both locations for quite awhile now and the food and service has been outstanding... Until last night. We waiting 45 minutes for 4 roll and soup, our waitress only came to our table twice and that is if you count giving us the moiste towelettes. The other waiter served us our rolls and soup while the waitress was just wandering around the restaurant. I cannot tell you how horrible it was. To top it all off... One of the staff, whom I do not believe was working, was either being arrested or charged with something. A cop escorted him into the back and one of the sushi chefs ( this probably account for the wait time) Went to the back room with the police officer and the other guy. I love getting sushi from the Brookfield since it is close to home but I guess I will be going to the other one from now on...

This is the best sushi restaurant in Brookfield. We have eaten here about a dozen times. The Monday and Tuesday special is the best, its like half off. The service is very good, parking is easy and the cost is very reasonable for what you get. Enjoy!

I decided to try Fujiyama for lunch today after hearing many positive reviews of the establishment. I ordered take out so I cannot give a fair assessment of the wait staff, although, they were cordial while placing my order and offered me tea while I waited. One thing to keep in mind is they do not have any Sunday lunch specials. Now, on to the meaI. I ordered a spicy tuna & dynamite roll (yellowtail, tuna) along with Red Snapper sashimi. The sashimi was outstanding. It was a quality cut, good texture and tasted fresh. It left me wanting more. The spicy tuna roll was good, nothing mind blowing, but an overall decent roll. I could not even finish the dynamite roll. The Yellowtail in it tasted as though it was days old and left out on the counter overnight. Unlike the sashimi, it had a very fishy, old taste to it that just did not seem right. I have eaten Yellowtail many times and this was not the typical flavor. I would be willing to give Fujiyama another try, but had to give it three stars based on the poor quality of fish I received in one of the rolls.

I consider Fujiyama located hidden in a strip mall a good find. I may only speak from my experience. The place is average size with clean, more modern furnishings and of course a sushi bar. I decided to start with their Shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer and ordered a Dragon roll as well. The tempura was excellent perfect texture and flavor. As for the Dragon roll I was very satisfied, flavor, texture and portion size. May I not forget they also have a full bar. I had the usual Asahi beer. As far as cost for the beer, tempura and roll I paid under $24 minus tip. I recommend this place and look forward going back really soon. Check out their website it has a full menu.

Fujiyama is my favorite restaurant to get sushi. The quality of the rolls, sushi, and sashimi are amazing. The staff is extremely friendly! Go on Mondays and Tuesdays for discounted prices. Also, try their fried ice cream and green tea mochi for dessert. Both are delicious choices.

Fantastic. Large variety of maki rolls. $1.00 extra to add cream cheese to any maki roll. They were flexible and concerned about our happiness throughout the meal. Good food is rare in these parts and great sushi is a treasure find. I struck gold toady and will definitely return.

One of the better places I've been to for sushi. Lot's of variety and choices. Good descriptions of the sushi on the menu for novices like myself and the staff is kind when explaining the sushi, as well. Beautiful presentation. I need to try their hibachi sometime as I've heard they are great.

It's a pretty busy place, but I've never felt like I got the short end of the stick going here.

Good food. Loved hibachi steak. Very good. But very expensive too.

There are no Hibachi grills at the Brookfield location, fyi.

You have to try the transformer roll!

One of THE best places to get sushi. We like to go for their Monday/Tuesday specials. I always manage to eat more sushi from this place than any other sushi places b/c they are that good.

Tried this location for the first time today. The atmosphere feels better here but the food is still the same, great.

Very nice atmosphere for a local sushi restaurant. Great selection and very good service. It's our favorite on the west side of Milwaukee.

The service here was really good. My waitress was very attentive but unfortunately, the food wasn't that fresh. I don't know what else to say? Japanese food has got to be fresh!
