A unique little bar. Was really quite surprised. Haven't been bar hopping for several years. More like decades. Maybe I am turning into a teenager again. That's right you have to 21 to legally drink now. Gee how times have changed. When I was 18. Oh well who wants to hear ancient history. One drink and home.

We used North Star Catering for our January wedding at the Pritzlaff Building, in Milwaukee. From the beginning, we were truly impressed by both the food and the service Kelly and North Star provided us. They gave us two tastings: one before we committed to a contract just so we could learn about their catering options and be confident in their food; and then a second tasting to choose our specific options. We were very appreciative of how flexible they were in accommodating our budget, guest count, and food choices. North Star allowed us to have a wedding reception full of a vareity of food "events." We had several passed appetizers, a buffet meal, and a hot chocolate/coffee bar (which was a beautiful touch to our winter wedding). We also had late night food, which all our party-goers appreciated. Furthermore, the catering staff showed exceptional service to all our guests throughout the reception. Several family members made it a point to tell me how impressed they were by the food and the service. Would absolutely recommend North Star to cater a wedding reception. Thank you, Kelly!

I was able to try these homemade enchiladas at a food/wine event in Milwaukee. Everything is homemade and then frozen. Simply heat in the oven and you have some of the best enchiladas in town...at home. Favorites include the black bean and spinach enchiladas (vegetarian and very tasty) and the "Manchiladas" (with steak and blue cheese). There is also cheese, chicken, shredded and ground beef, pulled pork, cheese, bacon cheese, steak, and tri pepper enchiladas. They offer sizes varying from 2 enchiladas all the way up to catering trays for 20 or so people. There is also homemade salsa, guacamole, soups and salad. If you have not already, give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.
I purchased these previously when I was an Outpost Owner. Today I was at Sendiks in New Berlin and they were offering samples. Well, I forgot how awesome they were. Well, not kidding, these are better than any Mexican restaurant that I've "ever" eaten at. They have $1 off at Sendiks on their products until Tuesday and I'm going back for more. It's extremely rare to find a product that you can reheat from frozen at home and it's better than the homemade thing but these folks do something awesome. I'd love to suggest that they open a local restaurant but that might put a strain on their incredible frozen grocery business. Keep up the great work peeps, tastes incredibly homemade from frozen!
The owners have South America in their family background and passed down cooking traditions. They have cage free chicken enchiladas and several options for take and bake tasty items. Our enchiladas made at home were delicious and I could tell were thoughtfully prepared. MUCH better than your average frozen Mexican fare. I appreciate the thoughtful cheese and salsa that comes along with your purchase. I enjoyed talking to the staff and happy to see them at the Tosa Farmer's Market.

LOVE the Brookfield Farmers Market. We went in with a pretty modest budget and left with a bounty of delicious bites. We scooped a pack of both cranberry and honey mustard brats from Cedar Road Meats, along wtih some canadian bacon and cracked pepper bacon. Then off to get some of the most spectacular strawberries that I've had all year from Door County Fruit Markets, and some fresh herbs and tomatoes to plant in my garden from Krokowski's Farm and Maggie's Herbs and Heirlooms. The live music was great, the people were friendly, and there were plenty of pastries, sandwiches, and ice cold maple root beer to keep you refreshed while you shop. Will definitely be back!
Have to say that I was pleasantly shocked during my first visit earlier today. Who would've figured that one of the better farmers markets in the Milwaukee area would be in Brookfield! The vendors are equally split between produce and already prepared foods. There was an abundance of fresh produce, and the strawberries I picked up were some of the best local Wisconsin ones I can remember having. Prices are excellent here, and the vendors are super friendly. One word of advice, the drivers in Brookfield make the ones in Orange County look like Danica Patrick......so be patient. Also, parking at city hall lot can be a cluster#u@k, so try parking at the high school and walking over. It'll save you from the frustration. This also is a great market to bring the kids. They tend to have special events on different Saturdays. For instance, I was studying at the library next door one day, looked out the window and saw some random cow out there!!!!!! Now you all have one reason to visit Waukesha County!
Visited the Bkfl farmers market yesterday. I work Saturdays so don't usually get there. I got some amazing strawberries, pea pods, tomatoes & cukes. Plus great dog watching.

It's nearly impossible to find a healthy meal in a mall so this place is a gem! More malls and food courts need Grassroots. I live for the salads. Please add red wine vinegar to your dressings selection, the only thing that my heart is missing. :)
While shopping at the mall, my friend and I were discussing places to eat in the area. An employee at the particular store we were at, suggested Grassroots in the food court, and said it was "really good". Ok fine. We aren't food court people, but we were short on time, so we gave it a shot. Totally exceeded my expectations, and I want to go back...now. Their problem is that they're stuck in a food court, and I think this place is original enough that they belong in their own building...or even a strip mall. And when that happens, serve some alcohol with that local fare! Local wine would be a great pairing!

FANTASTIC food! I travel for work and was thrilled to find an organic and wholesome food cafe. The rainbow quinoa salad was the best meal I've had all week and the vegetable soup was also amazing. I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very friendly staff too.
What a perfect stop for breakfast and coffee! I was pleasantly surprised that they had much more than just cupcakes and pastries! They had eggs, fresh fruit, HOT (warm, delicious, yummy) granola, soups and a great little selection on their lunch menu. Did I mention that they are brewing Colectivo Coffee! I had their breakfast burrito and it was exactly what I was looking for. Salsa, sour cream and jalapeños on side and I was sold. Ambiance leaves a little bit to be desired but overall I will have to remember to stop here as I'm going through Brookfield. Keep an eye on their hours though, they are closed on Sunday's.
This my fourth or fifth time here and as always-AMAZING. Decaf caramel latte - to the temp I wanted - grilled cheese special of the day was outstanding - but this cookie... Goodness me. Make an effort to find this place when you have time to savor the difference of whole foods!

Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza

First time Blazin. Loved the pizza. The thought of build-your-own pizza is a great idea. It was so tasty. Crust was great too(and I don't usually eat the crust). I like the process of it as well. Pick out your sauce, toppings and that's pretty much it. They also have salads and specialty pizzas for people who want everything done for them. It's a good sized pizza too. It's pretty much sliced into 6-7 decently sized pieces so it's just enough to fill you up and to not leave you(to hungry). I will definitely be returning.
I've been wanting to try Blaze for a while, and I'm glad I did. It's an interesting, albeit confusing concept- fast food pizza. I ordered the red vine (not to be confused with the delicious red candy) which had red sauce, chunks of mozzarella, basil, cherry tomatoes, and olive oil drizzle. It was AWESOME. Super thin and crispy crust, very flavorful ingredients... I devoured it. The size was perfect for one very hungry person. The only complaint is about the sauce- a tad too sweet for my palette. The Gorgonzola side salad was also fresh and flavorful. I will definitely be returning to Blaze for some delicious fast fired pizza!
Hands down best pizza (aside from Chicago style of course) ever. Why? Because you MAKE IT YOURSELF. So many options await you once you step into Blaze- including a gluten free crust and vegan cheese. Fad dieters are welcome. It's 7.95 for a thin crust pizza with unlimited toppings (trust me, you'll find great joy in piling 'em on there). Enough for two people, but what's the fun in that? My greatest stressor when getting Blaze is whether to get the spicy marinara sauce or the white sauce. Little did my amateur brain know that the workers are so understanding they'll make a half and half. And don't forget the pesto drizzle on top- I highly recommend! One of my friends likes to go the unusual route and use the pesto as a sauce. It gets pretty messy with all the oil, but hey if you're a pesto aficionado like she is, you can get a kick out of that option as well. Because they make the pizzas on the spot assembly-line style, you'll get your food in no time and it's perfect for a quick lunch break. If you want a pizza, come here. There's no other option quite as satisfying.

Kopp’s Frozen Custard

18880 W Bluemound Rd

Reviews:
Always love stopping here for a burger. Great custard as well. Only thing to be aware of is unless its a nice day outside, there isn't a lot of seating (not at a table anyway). It can make going with the kids a bit more difficult if you can't score a table.
I absolutely love Kopps and come every chance I get (which is a lot considering I live like 10 minutes away). Their burgers are huge and juicy. I always get mine with ketchup and raw onions. I tried their fried onions once and wasn't a big fan of them (not enough onion flavor that comes with raw ones that are cooked with the heat from the burger). For some reason, there's always 1 or 2 pickles in my burger or the bottom of the bag even though I never ordered them. I don't really mind since I like a couple of pickles here and there. Not a big fan of their fries though. I like really crispy fries but theirs are thicker and meatier with the skins on. Just a preference though. I normally order their onion rings instead which are super crispy and really big. They come out piping hot though so be careful! Now onto their frozen custard which is to die for. I've had almost all of their flavors ever. It's super rich and super smooth. The flavors of the day are very yummy and true to their word. I always order mine in a dish because you get a little cute side waffle cracker chip thing. I'm a big fan of Summer Passion (passion fruit + raspberry), German Apple Streusel, Macadamia Nut (salty from the nuts + butterscotch custard), Butter Pecan and Mocha Chip. Clearly I can't pick just 1 favorite. The list goes on and on. Their malts are very rich and thick and delicious as well. I trie the oreo malt and I would definitely order it again if it was a meh flavor of the day (which is rare). Word of warning though: I tried their watermelon shake thinking it'd be cool and refreshing. It tasted a lot like medicine and looked like pepto bismol too.
Amazing custard. Creamy, smooth...incredibly delicious. A fantastic treat on a warm day. 1-2 scoops are all you'll need. Chocolate and vanilla are both great. I prefer the vanilla by a narrow margin. Imagine the smoothness and silky texture of gelato with the incredible flavor of a high end vanilla ice cream. Get yourself 2 scoops and enjoy an evening on their patio benches. Wish we had anything like this in SC. Super fast service, decent prices... phenomenal custard. What's not to love?

I love potbellies and this is a nice location. The staff is always very friendly and even crack a few jokes with you when the line is going out the door. I always get a big wreck on white and it's very good every time. But the main reason I come here is for the dream bars. They really are a dream! Chocolatey caramel crumble goodness. I love them. I also like that during lunches they have a local musician playing in the dinning room. It's a little something extra that I haven't seen at other "fast food" sandwich shops. Makes it seem less corporate. Keep up the good work Potbellys!
I've kinda been obsessed with Potbelly lately. They make giant, cheap, delicious sandwiches so what's not to like? This place is definitely better than Subway/Quizno's/Jimmy Johns and is pretty much the same price as well (~$6). The veggie toppings don't taste artificial and retain an excellent crunch to contrast the tenderness of the meat, which seems to be of a much superior quality compared to other fast sub shops. The bread is nice and toasty and doesn't get soggy or smell gross (Subway). The hot peppers give every sandwich a serious amount of heat as well. The big sandwiches are super filling and definitely hit the spot for my post-Adventure Rock meal.
Good subs and live music Fridays for lunch. I'll be back.

Opa Gyros

95 N Moorland Rd
Brookfield, 53005
Reviews:
Very cool that Brookfield Square has added a gyro place to the food court! My mom and I honestly picked Opa Gyros because they had the shortest line, but I'm extremely happy we went here! The staff were super nice and the food was GREAT. My mom and I both had the supreme gyro and made one a combo (drink + fries). It's a lot of food and a lot of good. Given the choices at BSquare these days, I will most likely come here again!!!
If you're in the mood for a gyro this is a solid choice. They went a little heavy on the seasoning when grilling my pita, so it was really salty. Other than that the meat was actually pretty good. Not much else to add here. Food court food at it's finest!
I was having a serious craving for salad. Probably my bodying saying, "Give the grease a break!" I happened to be headed to the mall to get my brows threaded, so I thought I would scope out the food court and see if there were any possibilities. I spotted Opa Gyros and instantly knew a Greek Salad was happening. You can have a Greek Salad without meat, with chicken, or with gyro meat. I decided to go with gyro meat on top of my Greek Salad. The staff weren't particularly friendly, but they were efficient. And... when you order a small drink, you actually get a small drink, not half a bucket of pop! Yes, I think drink sizes in 'merica are too big, but that is a different matter. They also offer a fish fry! On my tray there was a large, clear plastic container with my salad and next to some warm pita bread. The salad is huge! Lots of beautiful green Romaine lettuce, thinly sliced onions, sliced tomatoes, Kalamata Olives, chopped cucumber, crumbled Feta cheese, warm slices of Gyro meat, and Oregano sprinkled on top. If you are not a fan of Oregano, you might want to have them go easy or not at all. With the salad comes two containers of Greek Dressing, one container of Tzatziki, and warm pita bread. Typically I don't like Kalamata Olives, but the saltiness was great with the salad. My one criticism of the salad... not enough Feta Cheese. Maybe that's why I took to the Kalamata Olives, to replace the saltiness that I was missing from the Feta. The Greek Dressing was great and I used both containers. The Tzatziki was great and I wished I had more pita bread to dip into it. That said, I'm not sure that I could stomach much more food... I didn't finish all of the salad because it was too much food and I was stuffed to the gills. Looking forward to trying more dishes next time!
