We did the work lunch thing here and had no idea what to expect because this was a new spot for us. We placed a large order to go and the service was great, they did forget the no mushrooms in one order. Other than that they labeled every meal and organized them in a way like no other so it was a breeze getting the food to the right person. They also threw in 6 free crab Rangoon with free marked on the bag which was nice and I will get to that later. Everyone liked the food but I can only comment on what I had. I had the special combination plate of hot and spicy beef, c14. You get hot and spicy beef, chicken fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll was above average with fresh ingredients that still had some crunch. The spicy beef was not very hot so I asked for extra hot and I got a side of a spicy pepper paste. The beef was good with fresh ingredient, thank you for not cooking the vegys to mush because they had the right amount of crunch. The combo fried rice is usually not very good from most places but here it was very good. Once again cooked perfect and not mushy but firm. The rice was that separate grains and not all stuck together and mushy with peas, moist fresh pieces of chicken and onion. The fried rice was very good and the fresh juicy pieces of chicken really impressed me. Crab Rangoon is something I can take or leave because it never really does anything for me. When I took the first bite I was instantly slapped across the head by how dam good it was and thought this is the best dam Crab Rangoon I have ever had. The shell was lightly crisp on the soft side with a luxurious creamy filling that just blew me away. Over all Asian chef was a winner with the quality and freshness of the food. I asked the crew if we should add them to the rotation for the Friday lunch and it's now in the rotation. Asian food is probably the third most popular ethnic style in the U.S. and Asian Chef really stands above most so we will be back. This was a great find in Brookfield. I did post pictures.

Best crab rangoons ever! They serve them with a dark sweet sauce. We also ordered house special wonton which was pretty good. Chicken with broccoli combo platter was pretty solid. General tso chicken combo also very good. White meat chicken and fried rice could have had a little more veggies and meat in it but it was fine. Great choice for takeout while staying at the nearby Sheraton

We've never been disappointed with anything on the menu. Delicious food , friendly staff, and quick service. We usually call our order in ahead of time and it's always hot and fresh when we pickup. The menu offers a TON of choices, but the singapore mei fun, beef w broccoli, and potstickers are our go-to favorites. Hands down, best location for Chinese food around New Berlin/Brookfield.

This time I had carry-out because I wanted to check out the restaurant. The tiny restaurant was rather clean. It was quick and fresh--however, I prefer my white rice instead of their fried rice. First, they gave me a small scoop of it. And second, the fried rice had giant pieces of white onion in it...since when did authentic fried rice have white onion in it? Thought it was green? Otherwise, everything else was good.

Food is great but service is spotty. I've been here several times but found myself frequently being offended by how their front end employee responded and treated myself and other people. She interrupts you (I've actually told her this before) asks questions and expects you to know your options, and is generally unprofessional (I've heard her whining about her hours). I stopped coming because I found myself so irritated by her. The last 2 times I came she wasn't working so I figured the owner must've finally figured out she may be hurting business, but alas, that is not the case. And again she exhibited poor service. I don't know that I'll be back although I enjoy the food. I find it interesting that other reviews that speak to be customer service are in the not recommended section.

I always order the mixed vegetables (753), never have been disappointed. The vegetables always have tasted fresh. Sometimes I will order an extra rice and the portion can be enough for 2-3 people. Can call your order in ahead of time and pickup. Their late hours are also great, since not many places are open past nine in Brookfield.

Having just moved to the area, we needed to find a good go to Chinese restaurant. My first order was a take out order of sesame chicken combo. The chicken was cut in to easy to eat bite size bites. The sauce was spread evenly & the most importantly the chicken was not drowning in the sauce! The combo came with chicken fries rice & an egg roll. The egg roll was more of a spring roll. Everything was very tasty! I'll be back!

Descriptive phrase: go-to choice for Chinese takeout. If I'm in the Brookfield area, Asian Chef is my undisputed Chinese takeout choice. This small place on the corner of a strip mall near Pick N Save on Greenfield does have a couple tables, but I always order ahead and grab at the counter. I always order the General Tso's Chicken (chef special, $9.35). They do the spicy/tangy sauce right, and give you plenty of chicken for a solid two meals. They always include a humorous amount of broccoli; literally 2 or 3 pieces. Comes with white rice. Their Pork Fried Rice ($7.75 qt) is a solid choice as well, and I've been known to get their House Special Wonton Soup ($5.25). They have all your standard Americanized Chinese, with plenty of legitimate options as well. Don't forget to ask for your 3 free Crab Rangoons if your order is over $20, but I don't recommend their Egg Rolls. Always check the bag before you leave, as they've been known to forget a thing or two. Don't bother with other Chinese places, this is the best in the area for takeout.

We just recently found this place. I like the fact that they make things spicy when you ask them to. The food is good and plentiful. People there are a little haphazard and un organized but the food is good. They are always putting in some extras when you order. I had a pleasant surprise the other day when we got free egg rolls. The prices are a little more than other take out places but I think the food is worth it.

I was visiting Milwaukee and wanted some Chinese food. I chose this place because it was on my way to my hotel. I decided to eat in since I had other errands to run before I got to my hotel. The girl at the counter spoke little or no English. I wanted to order the combination fried rice. I usually substitute something for the shrimp because I find that seafood in Chinese restaurants usually is not fresh. However, the girl either did not understand what I wanted or was not willing to do the substitution. After having two credit cards declined, the girl noticed that the handset on her fax machine was off the hook. This was causing the declines. The food was very good. The shrimp did not have a very fishy taste like I expected. The two eggrolls I ordered were also freshly fried and had a flaky exterior that I found very good.

Asian Chef is nice addition to neighborhood. It's a great place to pick up a quick meal of good, freshly prepared, Chinese food. I've only ever been here for lunch and both times I've been impressed enough to add it to my list of places to get take out. It's a small place at the end of the strip center next to panera which makes it easy to miss. The crab rangoon and the kung pao shrimp are tasty without being overly seasoned. The hot and spicy beef isn't really hot and could use a bigger kick, but even so, it still hits the spot. I usually notice msg in chinese food and therefore am cautious in trying new places, but I've had to problems with the couple times I've been here which is another reason why this will stay on my list for takeout.

Asian chef is right down the street, so it is our (my husband and me) favorite place to get take out. I really like how the food to go is in plastic containers that are sturdy and keep our food really hot till we get home and set everything up to eat. We always order over $20 so the three free rangoons are a nice freebie. The seating area in the restaurant is small, we have yet to dine in. The food itself definitely tastes msg free unlike other places that say msg free but then make me incredibly sick afterward. Asian chef has never made me sick and all of the food tastes delicious and fresh. I like simple food, so my favorite dish is the chicken chow mein- chicken, celery, onion, bean sprouts with brown rice on the side. Yum! :) Overall, I love Asian Chef and will continue to order takeout. I'd give them five stars if they were easier to understand when trying to order (out of over fifteen times ordering, we've only understood one employee. Tip: order by the number, not the name of the dish) and if the prices were a little lower.

Living in Waukesha, we haven't found a better asian take out place near here than Asian Chef. The meat they use is good quality unlike other places and it is cheap for the quantity they give. Definitely one of the best places I have had beef lo mien and beef mei fun. Their general tso chicken and other beef stir fry dishes are also delicious. Try their shrimp egg rolls and crab rangoons!

I had a craving for Chinese food and stopped by for a quick lunch. I ordered the moo goo gai pan (chicken and veggies) and a small order of wonton soup. Not bad. Lots of fresh veggies, including snow peas, mushrooms, carrots, bamboo shoots with slices of white meat chicken. Wonton soup was okay - there were about five dumplings in a hot broth. The dumpling wrappers were a bit doughy, but everything was fresh. Service was fast!

Glad to have Asian Chef in the neighborhood. Food is great and staff is very willing to make substitutions or accomodations. Love the shrimp with broccoli (spicy) - very good. Will definately return!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
