I've been coming to the Doubletree for meals off-and-on for a few years now, and I gotta say what started out as predictable hotel restaurant fare has really improved itself in recent months. I've been told the restaurant has a new head chef, and he turned the menu on its head. Everything I've eaten there in the past 6-8 months has been quite impressive. The bacon cheeseburger is very good, and the fries (beer-battered maybe?) they serve are some of the best and most addicting I've eaten in years! The seafood pasta served with scallops and prawns is fantastic...scallops cooked to perfection, succulent prawns, and a delicate cream sauce to tie it all together. I've sampled the Vietnamese beef ribs, which are served with rice...while they are flavorful, I think I still prefer the barbeque pork ribs they had on their old menu. Vietnamese ribs are worth trying, though, just so long as you aren't expecting to eat traditional ribs. Also, last week I ate probably the most amazing salad I've ever tasted. It consisted of field greens tossed with strawberries, mandarins, feta, edamame, and bacon in a strawberry-balsamic dressing. Oh, and did I mention it came with a cooked-to-perfection piece of salmon resting on top??!! The salad was quite big and a little more than I should have eaten, but I finished it anyways because it was THAT good. I normally only eat there on the weekends, and I always see the lady bartender, Luba, who works during that time. She is wonderful....very friendly, funny, and attentive. Sit at the bar and get to know her if you're there on the weekend...you'll have a great time and surprisingly good food.

Excellent breakfast with great service. A buffet was available, but we opted to order off the menu.

This is your standard hotel restaurant...and I should know, as it sometimes seems as though I spend more time in hotels than my own house. The food is pretty good, the prices are high, the service is OK. My two most recent experiences (I've stayed at this hotel a lot) involve a Reuben/fries and a Salmon with mashed taters. The reuben was pretty decent, and the fries were standard. The salmon tasted excellent and fresh, was cooked and seasoned well, and came with a generous helping of potatoes. All in all, I don't have too many bad things to say about Northwest Landing.

January 25, 2014 My wife and I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening. There were very few diners in the restaurant ..3 tables to be exact. I suspect that they don't get much local business on weekends. The waiter got us menus and water fairly quickly then left us for about 10 minutes. The menu is small but intriguing. I selected fish and chips, my wife selected grilled chicken. Eventually the waiter took our order and our meals arrived in about 30 minutes later. Both were very nicely presented. my fish had a nice light and not greasy coating. The coleslaw included sprouts and a very tasty light dressing. My wife found her chicken nicely seasoned and tasty and was impressed with the french beans (they look like small regular beans). Overall we were not impressed with the service but the meals were excellent

Two words: Ca ca. This is located in the Southcenter Doubletree. Surprise! It came highly recommended by the front desk staff. This is now in my top five of the all-time worst restaurants. My sister and I met our brother here for dinner because he was staying at the Doubletree. He asked the front desk for a restaurant list and they handed it to him saying, "but our own restaurant is quite outstanding." Outstanding? Outstanding, yes! Outstandingly awful! My brother ordered the ribs. The first time they arrived they were actually frozen. He sent them back and they arrived for the second time cold. I ordered the seafood Louis. Sixteen dollars. I coulda picked up the exact same salad at a 7-eleven or from a lunch cart for three bucks. It might have been made from fresher ingredients had it come from a vending machine. My sister ordered the crab cakes which tasted so old and fishy we thought they were tuna cakes disguised as "crab cakes". Did they offer to comp even my brother's meal that wasn't even edible? Nope. So this is what galls me: first, we were tricked by the low-life front desk staff into going to a lousy restaurant that was overpriced and shitty. Second, that in our two hours there we were the only suckers that they managed to lure into their stinky trap. Third, I had explosive diarrhea for like sixteen hours to remind me what suckers we were. Caca.
