Great hotel. Have stayed at many W hotels and never had any issues. Both times we have been to Seattle we stayed at the W Seattle hotel downtown. It is in a perfect location, close to everything you want to see and most things are walking distance. I had a package sent to the hotel and they were so helpful with having it delivered to our room once we arrived. Definitely would recommend this W hotel and will be coming back! Thank you W!

The hotel lobby was typical for the W. Decent drinks with a happening scene on the weekends especially. The rooms of the hotel were just meh. The bathrooms were old inside and the tiling was discolored. Room is a bit on the small side. While I initially thought I liked the bed due to it being so soft, I woke up with a sore back. Definitely not the most kid friendly hotel, not that I was expecting it to be. There is a kids menu for room service and they do offer cribs to use during your stay, but there is no pool and the lobby isn't the most appropriate place for a kid to be running around. The hardest part was walking into the lobby late evening on a Friday with the music pumping and having to put my toddler daughter to bed in our meh hotel room. In my younger days I would've stopped by the bar for a drink without hesitation. Front desk was great and the concierge was helpful. Parking was a whooping $61/night for valet at the hotel. There was also an option to self park in a garage just a block away for $40/night. Location was perfect if you are new to Seattle. Pike place market is about a 10 minute walk away. Public transportation was all right there. My husband and I got tired of walking on our last day and walked a few blocks to the monorail, one stop away was the Glassworks Museum (highly recommended).

Going Down ....hill. The W used to be a first rate in place to stay but seems to be slipping. We stayed in a corner room for 3 nights at the end of July and were dissatisfied. -At $350 per night we expected great accommodations. -Only 1 bath robe was supplied for two guests. -We left the room at 9:30 AM after our first night and returned 6 hours later to find the room uncleaned. My partner ran down a member of the cleaning staff who tidied up while we sat around. There is no coffee maker in the room, I am guessing that the management feels that fixing hot drinks in the room is déclassé but that would be far preferable to the 45+ minute wait for coffee to be delivered by room service. Disgruntled

W's are always hit or miss. This one a miss at the moment. At this price point shouldn't be the case but there you go *Mold on the shower curtain. Really? *Room was "tired" with big gouges in the furniture. *Difficult to get the front desk on the phone. "Special number" given on a business card by your check-in person didn't work. Card was cheap in appearance. Plus: Food in the main resto. was perfect. Valet guys were pleasant.

These beds are smaller than my my bed at home. Two full for $599+ night. When I call. That's all they have. Can I R least get a queen. Nope. I tell them I will review one star so here you go well deserved one star review of a crap hotel that's over priced. Starwood you should know better and have better customer service. Crap hotel stay at hotel Monico

You cannot beat the location. It is walking distance to Pioneer Square, Pike Place, the Monorail and a handful of shops. It is in safe neighborhood. There were many people walking about when we walked the neighborhood around 11 pm. The lobby is definitely modern and trendy as most W hotels are. Our room was on the 25th floor. If you can, request a room that has a view of the Space Needle, the ocean or Mt. Ranier. Our room faced the freeway. I think this W has had better days. The walls and desk had nicks, and the bed skirts were frayed. Aside from that, it had a nice window couch and a very spacious desk unit. Unfortunately, the water pressure in the shower was weaker than ideal, and the water temperature was lukewarm. At a certain point, the elevator was not working. We called and were told that they were taking care of the situation. We discovered it was fixed without a call back from the front desk. We had a room credit and breakfast vouchers, so we ate at their hotel restaurant Trace twice. Details in a separate review.

Ok, let's start with the pros. The W Hotel is conveniently located in Downtown Seattle. It's very close to nearby restaurants and pikes place. It has a nice lounge where you can get drinks and some decent food. There's some music playing while you're at the lounge and it's nice if you reserve a room for the night so you can drink away without any worries of figuring out how to drive back home. With that being said, I came with my husband and friends to the W Hotel. We reserved tables and part of a couch at Trace Lounge and service was 'meh.' My friends were more disappointed than me because they drank more than me and said the service was slow. After retiring to our rooms, me and my husband found that our 300 dollar room was stuffy, smelled liked sweat, and the whole room was just clammy. The bathroom was mediocre. There was a basic tub, toilet and mirror. Nothing special, but for 300 dollars we expected more. We also paid for the 61 dollar parking fee so that didn't add to our great experience at the W Hotel. The next day we checked out and went to The Grand Hyatt on Olive and 8th because my brother and sister-in-law suggested it. For a cheaper price we got a great updated room, fabulous bathroom, nice view, comfortable bed, and a room that smelled clean. We thought "Yes, this is what a 300 dollar hotel room should be!" So to say the least, we will not be going back to the W Hotel any time soon.

We love the W Hotels and stay there anytime we travel somewhere. This W Hotel was old and outdated. I heard they are going to remodel it, which is good because it needed it. Their rooms views are nothing great. My buddy and I got rooms at the same time while on vacation. He ordered from a third party site and got a way better room. Their staff is nice and the location of the hotel makes it a convenient place to stay.

Upon arriving at 10:30pm on Thursday, June 11, 2015 there was nobody to help us with our luggage to check in. With 2 toddlers in tow and a stressed out hubby, it was difficult not having a bell hop. They stated they we're understaffed----that was their continued excuse unfortunately. The hotel was located centrally and it was nice but service was ok. Neither the staff nor the concierge service was not very helpful with restaurant recommendations with young kids. Room service was outrageous, I would pay $18.00 a night for 2 glasses of milk and a pitcher of tap water, delivery fees were outrageous. I live in south florida where its very expensive, this hotel took it to another level of price gauging. Another sad note was there restaurant, no kidding we waited 30 minutes just to get coffee and water. I can't believe we waited that long but with young kids its hard to start traveling--looking for food. Food was good but service was very very slow. Ugh! I feel bad giving bad reviews but its the truth, wanted a better experience visiting Seattle for 1st time.

I have a love/hate relationship with this hotel. On the one hand, it's absolutely stunning. I mean seriously. Stay here if you get a chance. It's beautiful, roomy, and in a great central location. The reason it doesn't get five stars is because of some of the run ins I've dealt with for the staff. They haven't been the most hospitable. Otherwise, great hotel. It's so good, that despite the staff, it still gets four stars.

Rooms are beautiful, the mattresses need to be replaced both husband and I awoke with back aches, parking ridiculously expensive at $64 a night. Staff friendly and helpful. Bar area gets loud like the hard Rock and a glass of wine and one beer will run you $20 so drink elsewhere lol.

  • Chelly Y.

I enjoyed this hotel. Staff was friendly, and the location was great. I didn't find anything especially unique about the rooms, as a huge fan of the W brand the decor was a little bland compared to other locations. I'm between 3&4 stars for this one, just because past the lobby / lounge area it felt like any other generic hotel. Bumping it to 4, because of the great service & drinks at the bar. If anything needs to be changed, it is the layout of the lobby/front desk. I visited over a holiday weekend, so it was busy whenever I passed through, and with lines it is difficult to navigate to the exit or elevators, or to tell who is or isn't in line. They also did not have an SPG gold/platinum line, which was a drag considering the long lines.

  • La D.

The room is nice and clean, but totally turned off at the fact that parking is $56 for one night!!! Uhh...we're guests staying at their hotel! Seriously? Then, wifi is $5 an hour? You'd think the least they can offer is free wifi...smh.. Lol..one thing you do get with your expensive room is a free bottle of Dasani water. Haha..

The w is awesome. When I checked in Jayne was great and very helpful. A day later I got the best service ever from Joaquin at the bar. Just extraordinary people and great down to earth experience. Awesome!

Stayed at the W Hotel over a weekend and started both Fri & Sat at the W Hotel Bar before heading out. They have a happy hour menu from the afternoon to midnight, which is great, especially if you are staying at the hotel. The happy hour drinks are quite limited though, with a few cocktails, well drinks, and a small beer selection, but it is a full bar. There's a DJ on the weekends, and playing some pretty good music. Around 11pm or so, the place was actually pretty packed, mostly from hotel guests.

Dim lit swanky modern bar. A number of folks lounge around, but not much happening. Good enough if you are too tired to venture outside. Priced reasonably.

We love this place. Great location, very modern and cool atmosphere, great room sizes, awesome bar and delicious food. This is one of our favorite places to stay in Seattle and is even a cool place to just swing by for the bar/appetizers.

I am a local but you can ALWAYS find me at Trace drinking or lounging around. Anyways I was here for the 1 night celebrating my anniversary and I tell you the staff was wonderful. Zachary who checked us in was wonderful and helpful. Anything I requested it was prompt. Thank you for the wonderful stay W

This hotel is a nightmare. They made my first and only stay in Seattle literally awful. They overbooked the astonishingly high priced room that I had pre-booked. They told me there was no where else to stay in the City and offered to put me up at a very low end hotel in TACOMA. I was in town on business, so this was entirely unacceptable. They refused to offer me any alternative and agreed to pay my cab fair to my meeting the next day after I had to intrude on a friends couch to rescue me from the nightmare the W hotel created for me. Thanks for the few dollars you threw my way W.... Would have been nice if they offered to also cover my $90 in cab fair to and from the airport, but when I inquired they refused. Way to treat a guest when the mistake was yours. I would never recommend or stay at any of their hotels. I was treated horribly. Please do not give this hotel your business.

I love Starwood Hotels but this was the first time I stayed at the W in Seattle. I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful desk attendant. The room was spacious, very modern in style, upscale, awesome city view, and super comfortable. Great location too! Food, drink and Starbucks just out the door! Highly recommend!!!

Just one of those decent W hotel. However I am wondering, if those room service people never communicated each other and the front desk. They have been knocking my door all day and some just opened the door without knocking, even though I told them I am doing late-checkout. Seriously very annoying.

Got an email from the hotel after filling out their customer satisfaction survey with similar comments that I have on this review, and even the email was a fail. Apparently they're going to remodel their rooms next year, and will speak with the chef to make sure no one else has the same experience, but nothing by way of an apology or attempt to make it right. My parting thought is that this is just a poorly run hotel. Will be avoiding the W from now on.

Decided to host my girlfriends birthday party at the W's TWIST lounge. This place has really set the bar high in the Seattle classy bar list. The ambiance was perfect as well as the attentive staff that went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 30+/-. The new GM Drew really put effort to making sure everything was perfect which really helped me as I was kind of all over the place. We ordered appetizers , lots of drinks ;) , and was very happy with both. I will add a photo of the cake that the cooks made within a few hours notice that had a cool sparkler candle and included the birthday girls name on it which made for a great picture. Also our server was very good, I will include her name once I remember. Hats off to you guys, was a great night to remember.

We arrived in Seattle after a long day driving. We were greeted by William, who welcomed us with a friendly smile and attitude that was above and beyond. . It was our 20th anniversary and he gave us a corner room on the 9th floor. He even escorted us to the elevator. The room was perfect, with complimentary water for each of us. We had no problem at all with noises, and had a terrific nights sleep. Every request was answered immediately with courtesy. They went a step above expectations in every contact. There is free coffee in the lobby each morning. I spilled mine as I was trying to open the door to the room. They immediately came up to clean it up, and brought a pot of coffee with him. The food was delicious, the drinks were outstanding and prices for them as reasonable. Can't wait to come back.

+ One of the most comfortable beds ever. + Moveable couch. Yes, you can shimmy it over to the mirror for... uhm, different sitting views. + Located about a mile away from Safeco to watch a baseball game, roughly a half mile away from Pike Place Market. +

Was gonna give a 1 star but I will be nice and give 2 since I've had good experience with other w hotels. The Seattle W was the worst W experience I've ever had. Service was ok. But the hotel itself isn't like other W in terms of quality and standards. My wife and I lost a whole night of sleep due to extremely poor quality pillows and we asked for options and they had none. Then we tried to catch up on sleep during the day but the hotel rooms are all in a war zone like sound quality. Perhaps due to the W's inherent old building structure which makes sound barrier - zero. You could hear EVERYTHING next door, outside street, and the hall way. It was like sleeping outside in the open. The service was decent but all else failed expectations. The best W we've stayed at is W Taipei.

Nice bar scene in the W Hotel. Music always pumping no matter what day of the week. Easy place to unwind if you're in town for business. Asian restaurant next door is quite good too.

  • keith K.

I stayed at the W hotel and really liked the lounge downstairs. The music was loud but I didn't hear a peep once I got upstairs. Coming from the biggest city in the world, I can appreciate the sound proofing. I also liked that the lounge was trendy and seemed to have different things going on. It seemed like an upscale environment that I was comfortable with but I always had my choice to go to one of the dive bars down the street. I spent time at this lounge on Fri and Sat night. I like the assortment of drinks and the DJ was very good. There were some tourists and some native Seattlites. It was a mixed crowed but everyone was nice. The drinks were pricey and the food and brunch were mediocre.

Well this place is classy lookin'. You can definitely tell they put some dolla bills into the design of this place - I guess that's typical for a W Hotel but it was my first time in one so I was kinda impressed. Service was spot on, the bartenders had full knowledge of their tap list (thank God) and their prices were fairly reasonable, and even more so during their HH. Minus the $10 shots that were the same price as their mini-bar airplane bottles! Back to the layout - wide open, plenty of places to sit - bar, table, couch and fireside. Not a bad way to end or start an evening.

  • Celeste T.

I've been here a few times. While the atmosphere is lovely, and the drinks are tasty, I feel like the W Hotel Bar suffers from the same problem that many hotel-affiliated restaurants and bars do - while room service prices can easily be 150-200% of standard market rate due to convenience, the menu items in the affiliated bars and restaurants are still price-inflated to the same level that the room service items are. There are many other places in town to get a better cocktail at the same price, or many equivalent cocktails for less! That being said, this is a very cool place to see and be seen.

    (3)
  • Matthew A.

TEN DOLLAR SHOTS. WHAT. Okay, I had to start off with that because $10 shots! We stayed here for our anniversary and came here before and after dinner for some drinks. $10 shots guys, $10!!! Other than that, this place is swell. Service is great, prompt and helpful. During happy hour, beers are $4.50 and the bartenders know each beer on tap very well. Always helpful when you're looking for suggestion. Layout is very hip-ish, with comfy seats, fireplace and tables.

I gave 3 stars as it's a nice hotel, but as a Starwood member will go with the Westin or Sheraton in Seattle from now on. Reasons are - no coffee in the rooms. I actually grabbed a cup at 10 in the lobby as they were just putting it away for the day, so no coffee after 10 there either! Our mini bar fridge had one lonely Gingerale, no coke or even second soda at all, nor any wines at all. We ended up having a rum with Gingerale for a drink. The fridge was pretty empty actually. Although very nice staff, I got no answer on my calls to the front desk on two attempts when trying upon departure.

One of the best W hotels I have ever stayed at And I have stayed at the W Hotel in New York which was alright... I am very pleased to say that this hotel went out of their way to help us and were very attentive to all of our needs . They were very organized and professional. The staff is very kind they smile with a good morning, good afternoon, good evening... Every time they see you . Room was cleaned upon our returns ... We rented a car and chose not to park at the hotel over night but guess what ... Right next to the hotel there is overnight parking for $35 dollars... Everything is walking distance ... Room service sushi is amazing .... Kid friendly menu too . Safe , only access to your floor is with your key card, huge plus!! We had a higher up room and the view was amazing, it was clean and huge . Let me just finish by saying .... Our sheets were changed everyday ... I wore white socks on the carpet and they are still white ... Goes to show how clean it really is.

Great looking bar with friendly service. The sushi was not even close to what I get back in Ohio, I am in Seattle right?

I was fairly disappointed when I found out that the W hotel in Seattle does not have a rooftop lounge...or a rooftop period. I guess I am too spoiled by the fact that most nice hotels in downtown LA has a rooftop place to chill at....but it's Seattle, not LA, so can't complain too much afterall right? However, the place is normally EMPTY...I was surprised that no one really come here after work for happy hours. They have pretty good happy hour menu, and we had garlic teriyaki edamame and fresh oysters. They were pretty good, but no one really orders them at the bar. Also I went to Seattle for NYE 2013, and we all thought that it will be crowded around 10pm on 31st, but when we were walking back to the hotel after the countdown, we only saw a small crowd gathered around the bar...and still seem a little dead for such a nice hotel compare to what it would be like in the W hotel in LA. So fairly disappointed at the W in seattle, but overall, it still holds the standard for food and drinks :)

The Best sushi ever. I never tried anything like theirs. Their sashimi the most fresh I ever had.

  • Janet O.

Damn cozy. Sweet location to just chill and sip your favorite drink. Caught up with a very good friend before heading out. She loves the place too :) Lots of soft couches to just plop in sit close and just forget about passive aggressive people. For some reason this Seattle trip and the comfy couches clarity set in. I don't like P n A people. Glad my friends aren't like that at all. That was our topic while sipping our drinks. We say what we want and we never leave without saying what we want. There you go! I digress. Great service here btw. Of course! What do you expect? It's the W! So boo for P n A type. You suck!

Champagne Cocktail all the way (includes blueberry)! The chicken & mushrom flatbread wasn't too flavorful but it was light and did the job. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Ambiance is fantastic and they have a live DJ, which is always a plus.

    (4)
  • Lyndsey D.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. WORST SERVICE EVER!!! The waitress spilled a drink on me and my friends. My hair is sticky, my dress will have to be taken to the dry cleaner, and they only comped us the drinks they spilled. Never go here. It's the worst.

  • Elizabeth L.

3.0 stars. Pleasant, accommodating staff hosted bday for girlfriend, took care of our party with corner private seating by the fireplace, good drinks. Not as sleek, chic as the other W's (Chicago, Scottsdale), which is core to the W premise/promise. Would return for Wed. happy hrs.

If you spent your night drinking wine flights and eating cheese at Purple WIne bar and want an even more laid back atmosphere after your're done, then the W Hotel Bar is a hop skip and a jump away. I didn't want to go crazy on my birthday so after Purple, we came here for drinks and sexy fries. There was a DJ there so the atmosphere was clubby without the dancing but not too loud that we couldn't have conversation. All in all, it's a great place for a chill drink and I would definitely return again.

I'm trying to figure out why Yelp deleted my review of this place from 2005. Perhaps it got rancid? Past it's prime? Aloha expiration date? Whatever, here it is reposted and updated: I like the fact that Seattle has a place that is sophisticated, in close proximity to shops that count, and exists in the lobby of one of Seattle's more upscale ID'd hotels. A bar which feels it's meant for locals as much as anybody else. Apart from this chic bar being on my regular stop prior to taking the bus home from work; where else can you sit down and chat with a complete stranger (from Paris of all places) only later to find out that stranger is Emmanuelle Seigner, then get invited to dinner at Zoe to boot? Where else can you manage to get a date with the Marketing Director of an internationally renowned chain of couture hair salons; through which you obtain her employer as a client? Or arm wrestle one of the Seagalls, only to end up in a 7th floor room, wearing nothing but a Seahawks girlie-t wondering what the hell happened. Ah, I see now why they deleted this review. 'W' bar -yes, it's that good. In a discreet, expensive, excruciatingly sophisticated sort of way.

The W Hotel was a perfect stay for a night in Seattle. We were in town for the Trey Songz and Usher concert. By in town I mean in the city. This was when I lived in Tacoma which is only a 45 minute drive south of Seattle. It is very close but just not as hectic. The room was definitely worth the money at the W Hotel. It was very cozy. The room had a good number or mirrors. I think that by far the W Hotel has the best Hummus and Pita Bread as well as the Chicken Shish Kebabs. The chicke shish kebabs were so juicy and favor full! And the bar downstairs was very low key and very chill.

I came here to meet my wife for happy hour, which runs from 4-7 p.m. When I arrived at around 4:30 p.m. on a Friday it wasn't too busy. The bartender was attentive and made a great Martini. Food is reasonably priced, and the sushi from the happy hour menu was great. Decor is modern, with a steel and glass theme - which I felt detracted from the warmth of the place. Overall, a good experience.

  • Melissa F.

I think I came here on slow season. Will try it again. But really..I don't get it. I just don't... get. it. Yeah it's fancy. but that's just about it. Probably come back with friends when it is busier?

    (2)
  • Nelson Y.

Not impressive. While the decor is pretty garish, the lighting was way too bright and the scene at midnight on a Saturday night was dead and terrible. The W Hotel needs to learn from their national counterparts and really fix things up. Ambiance and vibe is everything. Turn the lights down, make the mood more sexy and modern, and play some better music.

    (2)
  • Jen B.

I went here on a first date which was a tad uncomfortable anyway because we went at 8:00pm on a Saturday an the music was really loud & techno-ish..which is probably ok other than we were like TOTALLY alone (haha!) Ok, enough of that mess... We just had a couple of martini's: Me- Stoli, dirty, olives..it was ok but I like 3 olives and not 2, C'mon don't be stingy! He- Had Kettle One w/ lemon. He said it was watered down..Don't really know because I didn't try it. All in all, not a bad place, but definitely not a date place (the chairs w/ the tall backs were SO hard) but the atmosphere is nice and modern, service was great, drinks ok.

  • Kim-van T.

I am confused by this place... people seem to flock to it! Yes it's chic and cozy on the inside but how is a hotel bar so popular in Seattle?? For me it was totally convenience - the bf and I were too tired to venture out downtown so we decided to give the W Bar a try since we could stumble back upstairs if we needed to. The signature cocktails are definately pricey at $10 - $12 a pop. Some of the drinks are tasty - others.... not so much. If you look at the menu that's on the website it has changed since then. I had a drink that was similar to the Secret Martini (citrus vodka, lychee liquor, lemon and grapefruit juice) - that was probably one of the best drinks and came highly recommended by the bartender. There was a drink called the Bee Sting that did NOT come recommended by the bartender. I also had a cucumber-midori cocktail and I was not a fan - I just chugged $12 to get it over with... I do like that they have wasabi peas as the bar snack =). We also decided to try the W Sexy Fries (for $8 ::cry::). I'm going to have to agree with the other yelpers that although they were yummy - I'm not entirely sure what made them so sexy or worth $8... If you want to try the bar bites I'd say wait for happy hour. Seating is comfortable and cozy and if you sit in the lobby of the hotel you can also get bar service. Definately saw a couple snogging on the couch though - take it upstairs man, I'm trying to eat my Sexy fries.

Wonderfully comfortable beds!! The bed was the best part of the hotel stay. I stayed here on a business trip, and my company also held our training in the conference rooms at the hotel and had catering service. I'm sure there are many options for catering packages, but the breakfast was disappointing. The food was decent quality, but the selection was limited. Again, I'm sure there were better choices, but my employer went with something along the lines of continental breakfast. I'm not a know-it-all when it comes to the standard cost to rent a projector for a conference room, but I believe the hotel staff quoted some ridiculous amount, like $200. In addition to the cost of the projector, we inquired about wifi, and they said it would be $300! That's a bit much even if it wasn't coming out of my pocket. I like that the W carries Bliss toiletries in all their hotels. I was disappointed by the front desk staff who seemed slightly incompetent and unfriendly. I went down to the bar for a bite to eat and the bartenders weren't exactly chatty either. Everyone sitting in the bar area appeared to be over the age of 30. The equipment in the gym was nice. This hotel lacks a swimming pool.

I love coming here! They have two of the best bartenders in town! John and Josh! If you are ever in the downtown Seattle area and would like to talk to a couple of bartenders who know their S**T! Than this is the place for you! It can get quite busy on the weekends... I don't mind waiting for a good drink!

I'm not a Seattle native, in town for 10 days, and got invited to "Sip and Sin" at the W Hotel Bar (their special Wednesday night happy hour event). Not sure what to expect, the invitation came via Facebook, and from the photos it looked like a nightclub scene, but being the person I am, always down for a good time, I get to the bar and am pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere; much more laid back, ample group seating areas, cozy fire places, DJs spinning hot music (at a volume conducive to good conversation), and a pretty decent extended happy hour cocktail menu! My group was definitely rowdy, but everyone at the bar was happy to laugh with us and super friendly in general. We parked about 3 blocks away and walked the short distance, but I know that there was a parking garage attached to the hotel. All in all, a very good experience, and if I were a local, I would definitely come back for Wednesday night Sip and Sin! Enjoy!

Warning: do not expect this hotel to be like other W hotels. Their recent renovation makes the extrerior look modern but does not meet the standard W hotel expectations.

Finally my status at the SPG hotels actually work! I was upgraded to top floor which gave me a wonderful view of the city. The bar was great though a bit on the smaller side, of course you have a semi lounge style type near the lobby. The room was wonderful, I think this is the one that had a toilet paper roll in a little pouch that said "The Backup Plan" or something along those lines. Service was great, better concierge then some other hotels I have been to. Centrally located which allows to just walk to your destinations. I know this is Seattle, but I was just disappointed when there wasn't a pool, however they eventually told me that I could go to the Sheraton with a quick call. I really didn't want to walk there with my swim trunks on though. Restaurant was a bit subpar, more overpriced than other restaurants in hotels.

My bf and I are staying at the W hotel so we decided to have drinks down at the bar as our warm up before going out..The waitress was very unfriendly and very quiet, you can tell she didn't want to be there, I ordered a Bloody Mary and I couldn't even make a dent cause of how bad it tasted! The atmosphere and the decor Of course was beautiful but they didn't have music playing, really dull and boring. We've been to the W in brentwood and hollywood, always had a great time but this sure was a down grade from back home.

One of my local favorites. Why? It's upscale, relaxed, and excellent place to catch up with friends. Wednesday nights: hip-hop music -1 star for overpriced valet. I love my city of Seattle, but it's not NYC.

I usually avoid hotel bars, but there is just something sexy about being seen here. Drinks are a little spendy, but appropriate for the area and are tasty for the most part. Come down from your room for a drink during happy hour and bank on the fact you'll find something delicious. If you have questions, ask the bartenders, they seem to be knowledgeable about what liquors they have and how to combine them into cocktails...

good drinks small though, I think they have a happy hour but not sure when. The general scene here at night is cool.

Me and my ladies got dressed up and went to The W Hotel Bar last Friday night. This place is definitely swanky and be prepared to come dressed to impress! On a cool side note...Fantasia Barrino was sitting in a back table with her entourage crew (I tried hard not to stare too much). =) The drinks can be pretty spendy, but luckily happy hr starts at 10 pm Mon-Fri so we enjoyed some tasty apps. Definitely try to sloppy joe's...there more like pulled pork sliders. Warning to all who may be intrigued by the 'sexy' fries....there is nothing sexy about the "sexy fry" breath you'll have after devouring them (I like to limit my garlic fry intake for a M's game at Safeco Field)! Needless to say I was a bit paranoid the rest of the evening for getting too up close and personal with anyone :)

Had a few glasses of martinis/wines there while our stay at the hotel. It's not a big place but it's nicely decorated the W style. Truffle fries were pretty good. We only stayed for the drinks and headed off to dinner.

I brought my dog, Dolly, to the W Hotel Bar for CityDog Magazine's MuttMixer. It was just delightful to see all the dogs enjoying treats while their owners sipped on delish cocktails. Way to go W Hotel for being pet friendly!

I'm torn between giving the W Bar three or four stars. They have 2 below on tap (!) but the happy hour bar snacks were only okay. Crab and lobster fritters with orange dipping sauce sounds good, but the concept of eating them was really unappetizing. Imagine a sweet donut with the smell of lobster and crab, without any of the texture, with a sweet orange flavored icing. The "sexy" fries were tasty, but I don't know anything sexy about shoestring potatoes with truffle oil and parmesan (unless you're one of those people that considers pastrami to be the most sensual of the cured meats.) Dumb name, but tasty snack. The ice cream sandwich, was yummy, but also extremely small for 5 bucks (I would probably get it again, but only because I'm a sucker for ice cream sandwiches.) I don't do much happy hour after work, but I would probably give this place another try only because 2 below on draft for three dollars is a steal.

Happy Hour review: I was hesitant to go to the W for Happy Hour as I have been there on very crowded nights and its a bit too "sceney" for me, but a maintenance closure at Shuckers put me next door at W hotel bar for a ladies HH. I was surprised to find it very quiet on a Tuesday evening, but the Seattle Sog was pouring down, so maybe it was a quiet day. My friend and I ordered 2 specialty Cocktails (The Pear one) for $7.00 each (usually $12). And they were juicy and yummy. For bites we had the WINNING brisket sliders which come 3 to a plate (a new addiction for me), the Falafel (also 3 of them) which were a bit dry but still tasty, and finally the chicken skewers (3 of them) which seemed tasty but could have used a little dipping sauce on the side. We closed it out with another Specialty cocktail, the Chai one, but I had the bartender mix it up with some 1/2 n 1/2 to make it frothier. Honeyed and sweet. Overall the prices seemed pretty good for a HH, and the only complaint I had was no wine on the HH menu, and a dessert is always the item that is missing on happy hour menus. They need to have a sweet chocolate item on there! Fun, but quiet for this particular night, which may have worked in our favor as popular HH's run out of table space and can make it hard to order and eat the nibbles. Largest seating arrangement would have fit maybe 7-8 in the bar. The service seemed prompt enough and the bartender came out from behind the bar several times to check on us, which I always appreciate.

I don't normally frequent fancy places, but I like the W lounge. Great atmosphere. Nice staff. Usually a nice crowd of people from out of town who are looking for a conversation. Although, one time, there was a big brawl between some nicely dressed women -- no class. Killer DJ music. Progressive house sort of music on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The bar food is really good. Every item is tasty. Pricey and small, but tasty. Forget about the waitresses, you'll never see them -- just go to the bar and order something.

Someone's review on here stated that the W Bar is pure sex. Yeah, sure...really BAD sex. If W were my lover, he/she would be a one, maybe two night stand. The cocktailers are total teases, first of all. Yeah, I said it. They walk around, all sleek-like, hiding from you when all you can think about is them, knowing that they have what everyone wants... a cocktail!!! We sat for 20+ minutes at one point without a menu. And, although we were there for several hours and the bar itself wasn't full, we only saw our cocktailer a few times. Maybe she was too busy stalking Chris Rock (he was there), or maybe she was admiring herself in her Michael Kors designed uniform. I'm not sure. I only know that there were plenty of decent looking beverages on there, but they--much like those who served them--were apparently the unattainable type... I may consider seeing the W Bar again, but if they don't even TRY to get me drunk, we don't have a future! The W is a see and be seen lounge and I can appreciate that, but hip and good looking can only take you so far.

When I entered the Hotel I was greated right away by the staff. They really Wow'd me as far as making me feel comfortable and welcome. I did not eat dinner or drink here. But as far as the emenities, this is the best!

Interesting in drinking a mediocre $14 glass of wine? Boy, have I got a bar for you! My friend's $13 cheeseburger looked pretty good although I do not eat the cute animals, but not $13 good if you know what I mean. What was he paying for, the miniature condiments? I'm not sure. Overdone, oversexed, overpriced, and frankly - over. I'm adding a star because I wasn't paying. That always puts me in a better mood. ;)

God bless the W - room service has 14-frakking-dollar french fries and $2X burgers + automatic 22% gratuity + $4 service fee. The sheets and pillows are great. so are the views. You meet the most interesting people in the hallways. Trainwreck. Good for a stay-cation but the Ace hotel is waaaay better $-for$ and the Cyclops blows the doors off the W's bar.

Great Space Layout to have a drink or two to start off your night. Or meet for an after work drink. The price is high but I kind of used to it since these are the everyday prices you see in Boston. Also - ALL Hotel bars have to add a surcharge to make a profit, so you're going to pay more. If you don't want it crowded, have a cool dj spinning tunes and have a very darkly lit setting with unique cocktails, with slightly uncomfortable seating, this is you're place.

Cozy, and shiek with high back sofas and comfy leather loungers. We wanted to have appetizers but ended up only having wine. This is a definite go back on my list for more sampling of both food and drinks. I went on Sunday evening and it was pretty calm on the homefront. Wait staff were super friendly funny and the energy reminded me of bars on the Westside of Los Angeles. This is not your typical TGI Friday's place to go for food and drinks so if you want something different, check it out! This place gets a thumbs up from me!

When you walk through the doors to the W Hotel Bar you leave Seattle. I think they call it a portal. Try it the next time you're bored and think you might want to leave the dreary NW for sunny California. The results will be interesting.

On Wed, there is a DJ that plays till midnight. The atmosphere is cozy and comfy. Drinks are pretty stiff. Modern, shabby chic & trendy. Service was excellent.. My only issue is that it's coined as upscale. They need to google "upscale", instead of redefining it for them selves. i personally didn't feel that it was that upscale. Trendy, chic- yes but not lavish..

Great atmosphere (small and cozy), the food was so-so at best and WAY overpriced. I was in town for work so thought the W would be a nice place to relax, have a drink (or 2) and grab a quick bite. Decent service. Be aware that if you are a young female dining alone at the bar... old men will try to talk to you.

I wish I could rave about this W hotel but my experience wasn't the best. My bf and I went here for V-day for one night. When we got upstairs to the room I tried putting my key card in several times. We got the red light that the key wasn't working. I was so frustrated after a long road trip I just wanted to relax in the room. Then to top things off a really large and tall man open the door. He asked why I was trying to get into his room! I've stayed in many, many hotels for years and this has never happened to me. How could the front desk mess this up! My bf and I then went downstairs to change rooms and they appoligized over and over for the mix up. Then gave up 2 free drink cards for the bar area. I felt better at that point. The drinks are pricey and after that we kinda needed to drink. Then we get to our room and it was horrible! We faced a brick wall. All that money and we get a crappy room with a crappy view. I'm really not sure I'll ever stay at this location again. I did like the bar area though...

I thought I was back in San Francisco when I visited the bar in the W Hotel. I was welcomed by great music, diverse and happy crowd, and a spicy pomegranate drink that was made by Hideki "Dank" Anpo a great bartender there. I will definitely come back here on a weekend night If I'm in Seattle!

great staff, very knowledgeable, friendly, and great with the small talk. full bar and they can make just about any drink you can conjure up. really nice place for a dates, never gets too loud that you have to yell over anyone and therefor a good place for double dating as well. dim lighting, fancy drinks, candles, and rico suave style gives it a romantic feel. my only complaint really is the price, not too bad but a little pricey for what you're actually getting. if on a date you can easily rack up a bill of $150 and up in a couple hours so be weary of what you order. definitely recommend to anyone looking for a night out on the town. below is a chart of how the yelp rating system works. i think everyone should know how tough it is to be a five star company. 95% and up = 5 stars 85% - 94.9% = 4 and a half stars 75% - 84.9% = 4 stars 65% - 74.9% = 3 and a half stars anything less, useless example: 20-5 stars 5-4 stars 3-2 stars 4-1 stars 124 `/, 150 = .826 (4 star)

Stayed at the hotel here on business a number of years back. This was my first time in Seattle and was exhausted from the time zone difference and not really in the mood to explore the city like I would normally, so I headed downstairs to the bar. They poured me a couple of nice stiff martinis (real ones; none of this vodka business). And even though I'm not really a hamburger person, I ordered one. It was actually quite good, although not worth the price (not that I was the one paying). Even the drinks seemed overpriced, despite being nice and strong. Anyway, I suppose you're really paying for the trendiness of the place. If you're not looking for a trendy sort of scene, there are places downtown with far higher bang:buck ratios.

We really enjoyed the hotel. Love the underground valet parkng for your vehicle, felt very safe leaving it there. And the price for valet with unlimited in/out service was great! The hotel is very swank and fun. The room was gorgeous and the bed was soooo soft. Loved the bliss products, will buy them in the future.

It's dark, hip, chic and sexy. And it's in Seattle. Huh? Yes, it's the W Hotel Bar and this is my kind of place to lounge. When I have money to dispose of, I will gladly come here, sip myself silly on $12 cocktails in my Manolos and run up a tab that is worth more than my car.

The drinks here are sexy. The glasses on the frou frou drinks are rimmed with sugar, perfect for licking off, licking your lips of that sweetness. My favorite one being the rose drop. Pair that with sexy fries.. the saltiness of those fries paired with the sweetness of the drink.. Makes you feel like you just had a mouth orgasm. I love coming here every once in a while as it's not cheap but its fun to live the life of someone from a different city say... NYC, say... SATC... but once you leave, you realize you are still in Seattle.

My tab was paid for via expense report, so I shant complain about the prices here. I had no idea that Seattle was such a chic place. We came on a Wednesday night during the happy hour - thankfully got there EARLY and got a table, otherwise we would have waited in a huge line. Drinks were strong & sexy, and snacks were chi-chi and delicious. Thank you, W Hotel, for making me feel sort of like a celebrity, even if for 2hrs.
