Worst experience with a bartender ever!!! Rude! Asked me what I wanted and then straight walked away! I came in for a drink not to yell across the bar! He came back a few minutes later and asked me again. I started to talk and he walked away again! Both times were too far out of earshot for me to even try to yell out an order! Not coming back! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Meh... Boring beers, lifeless ambiance, and so so food. I had the Margarita steak, asked for medium rare, and it came out well done. They did have an IPA but it was out.. of course. They've been brewing the same lineup of German beers for 10 years. Give the brewers the freedom to get creative. Boring mall food.

Just like every other chain you aren't getting 5 star food but you know what you are getting. The prices are a bit high for what it is and I'm not a fan of the fact that it costs 4 bucks to sub a salad for fries with a burger. The beer is good not great as well.

I like their wedge salad here and it's usually a good spot to work for an hour or two on my laptop - just make sure you sit near the front to use the mall's open wifi.

HORRIBLE service, we stopped by for a quick drink and snack while waiting for our parent's train to get in. I saw the server twice and she was very short and abrupt each time. After years of working as a waitress and bartender I tend to be more understanding, but there was no excuse for this service! We were one of two tables in the area with staff sitting near by laughing and joking. With the disappointing service we decided to pass on the food and leave after finishing our drinks. There are so many places near by which provide great service and food to waste time with a visit here.

I love hitting up Gordon Biersch before a movie at Pacific Place, especially if you can get there during happy hour (M-F 4 pm to 6:30 pm). I highly recommend the HH tacos, you get four small tacos and they are weirdly filling and easily shareable. They also have a lighter side menu which is great if you are trying to stay healthy. The beer comes in larger than normal size glasses, which my beer loving husband loved! The servers were friendly and attentive. However, I feel some of the entrees are priced a little high but if you can catch happy hour it's worth it!

The Merlot by the glass I had was terrible. The $5 happy hour garlic fries was half the size I thought it would be. I don't like this place and only come here when meeting friends before a movie if they suggest it.

I would like to know what happen here... I was here last week after seeing a movie with my boyfriend and his son. We walked in a got a table very quickly. That of course is awesome. We got our menues and orderd. I got the stirfry and they both had burgers.Nothing complicated. Our food came a little slowly (maybe cause we were hungry it felt slow). His sons burger looked very sad. The burger was barely on the bun. The bun looked almost soggy. The fries weren't hot. This kid is not a picky eater by any means and he looked very disappointed. My boyfriends burger looked a tad better but barely. It was semi warm and the bun looked greasy. The garlic fries looked like there was just a bunch if minced garlic lobbed in top. His fries weren't hot either. My stirfry was the worst. I know this isn't an asian place but come on. It was barely edible. The rice was way undercooked and the veggies were probably steamed to an inch of their life. The sauce tasted like sugar. It was like a bad home ec mistake. We didn't complain but we barely ate anything. I used to like to come here after a movie and grab a beer and burger. I would have rather gone to McDonalds. At least their "food" is hot. I give it a two for our server and my boyfriends beer

I love Gordon Biersch because they serve the best draft lager in Seattle; it's a lager oasis in a desert of IPA. The ambiance is pleasant and the service has always been very good. Today was an aberration. It is Gordon Biersch's 25th anniversary and they are running a great promotion: $2.50 Tuesdays ($2.50 drafts all day long). The first special Blonde Bok draft they brought out was FLAT. It was like apple juice; obviously the dregs of the keg, and to give them credit they changed it without hesitation. The second round was good, but not as great as the Boks I have had here in the past. So I switched to the stand by "can't go wrong" lager: their Marzen, which was fantastic. The big disappointment tonight was the food and to a lesser degree, the service. While our server was a good guy, who was trying hard it seemed he was a bit overwhelmed (10 minutes to clear our table....another 5 or 10 to take our order.) The food was a C-. Fish tacos were pretty bad. The tapas and flat bread were not much better. The pasta "jambalaya" was also not very good. We will go back, as I love their beer, and because the food has been much better in the past; but It seems they have compromised a bit on food to subsidize the costs of serving $2.50 drafts.

Gordon Biersch Brewing Co. gets a big fat "1" for customer service today from our family. Their food was palatable, so I will give them a "2" for the food. Average the two scores and round up, hence, a "2" overall. We walked into their restaurant about 20 minutes after they opened their doors for lunch today. The host sat us at a table. Nice view of part of downtown Seattle. A few other tables with patrons were there. Menus were handed out as we spent about 5 minutes looking at the menu before deciding. About 8 minutes later, we were still waiting to be acknowledged by our "waiter" named Mark. No show. Three minutes later (and without water, mind you), our daughter popped her head over the booth's high walls to see if anyone was WORKING and WAITING ON TABLES. Finally, a man who we suspect was some type of manager came by and asked, "Have you been helped yet?" He then goes to find our waiter. Another 8 minutes pass, before this waiter named Mark, comes by to acknowlege us. If you add up the minutes of waiting, we are onto 21 minutes before Mark gave us water. Finally, we placed our order w/ him. Requested to have the burger well done. The burger shows up pink in the middle. Do we dare say something and have to wait, heavens knows for how long, before getting another burger cooked just right? No. We chose to just eat around the pink meat. Ugh. The fish and chips were pretty good and so was the grilled chicken, but that did not convince us that today was a good dining experience! If you have alot of time to spend waiting and you don't mind watching their manager sit and talk in another booth to the employees and those working the kitchen, then by all means, drop by. And I don't think the manager was talking "business" as their laughter could be heard all the way over to our side of this fairly large restaurant. We were hungry and desperate. Next time, we will just be more patient and find a different restaurant. This establishment won't get another $55 out of us!

We stopped in here for Happy Hour the other night before going to a movie (thanks to Yelp!) They have good HH prices- $4.95 for pretty decent sized dishes. We had the Housemade Chips - potato chips covered in blue cheese, bacon and onions, Crispy artichoke hearts, and Tapas. Between the two of us we couldn't eat it all. All were nicely done and no skimping on toppings because the price was less. Plenty of blue cheese and bacon on the chips (I asked for no onion), the artichoke hearts had a nice lemon aioli with it but they were pretty damn good just plain. As for the Tapas - can you go wrong with roasted garlic & olive tapenade? The Tapas also have bruschetta and hummus but when I have roasted garlic I tend to eat that up until I am full. Yes, I love the garlic. (Note to self: next time bring breath mints!!). I didn't drink any alcohol but they have $5 margaritas, mojitos and martinis - you can't go wrong there. Next time I go for HH I will definitely have some drinks.

Good beer and the service was good when we were able to commandeer a table in the bar area. Went here during an event, so the wait was very long, like everyone else waiting we kept our eyes on the bar and got a table there. The food was pretty standard and probably slightly overpriced. I would prefer this place for appetizers and beer prior to a movie or as a break from shopping. Maybe that's why it is ideally placed in a shopping center :-P

Over the years I've never had any issues or complaints about Gordon Biersch. I wouldn't say it's my favorite Brewery to go to but it hasn't been so horribly bad that I've been scared away either. That is a good thing. Well, today I went for lunch and was kind of disappointed with the service though the food was still pretty good. The server had no clue what was in the salad I ordered nor offered to even find out for me so I took my chances and ordered it anyway. As I said, the salad was pretty good so I can't complain too much, but still. Just a little more help or reassurance by the waiter would have been nice. So in conclusion, if you're in the mood for a $14 lunch salad and a clueless wait staff, come here! Don't worry, you'll still get good food so it won't be all that bad.

Yes, it's a big chain and I would rather give my money to establishments from the Northwest (keep the local economy local) I see a lot of people posting how the beer is mediocre. GB brews traditional german styles and they have won many awards at the World Beer Cup as well as GABF. I believe when people say "boring beer", they mean there are no IPA's, Cascadian dark double IPA's, or barrel aged vanilla porter IPA's, which is what dominates the northwest. The GB beer selection is truly unique because they specialize in lagers. Few NW breweries make lagers and very very fewer make lagers as well as GB.

I came to Seattle for my Birthday this year. So I actually tired Gordon's 2 times while here. My first experiance was not the best, so i wanted to give them a 2nd chance. I say the first time was not that good because, we waited for ever to be helped. THen we had to ask for the check so we could leave. Good thing we had a lot of time. The fish we got was alright, not really fantastic for Seattle though. My girlfriend got a salad that she has ordered many times in other Gordon Biersch 's. One of her favorites really. She was disappointed because, it had a lot of white lettuce and rine in it. Sort of ruined the whole salad for her. Since it was my Birthday they did bring me dessert, which was very nice. So that is why i gave them anohter shot. My second time there, the food was better. I go t a nice burger that was good along with some soup. Again I waited a time for service and the check. A good places it just needs some attention to the detail. I walked over here both times, it is upstairs in a shopping center. Parking here could be a major problem. I was staying at a great local hotel.

It's a big fat corporate watering hole aimed mostly at...well, anyone. There's not much happening here. The beers are indifferently made, though no doubt they taste better than the typical Bud, Miller, and Coors offered most places. The bartender made a point of emphasizing that the food here is scratch made every day, but that seems positively outlandish given the taste and consistency of the sliders, potstickers, and fettucine we had tonight. The garlic fries were...alright. Everything was...alright. Service was cheerful and friendly and nice and slow and scatterbrained. We just wanted to hang out and drink and eat while we waited for the movie to start, and it served us reasonably well in that capacity. Not sure I really need to come back, but, then, I said that ten years ago, and here I am again ten years later. Sometimes life is funny.

This is a really odd location for a Gordon Biersch. I have been to a few across the United States and usually they have dedicated ground floor spots. This location we visited on a weekday and the mall was deserted. As we made our way to the 4th floor, we were not sure if they would even still be open as everything else was closed at the mall. Once we sat down, found out that they were "between seasonals" and completely out of the seasonal beers. Ended up trying the Schwarzbier and it was very good. Being a bit hungry, sampled the sliders of which a few were Kobe and the other Pulled Pork. These were awesome! The scene was quite dead for a weekday so we ended after having one pint and made our way back to the hotel.

This place makes great pear salad. As for the rest of my food. it was just ok... nothing to write home to mom about. The service was great. The Martini's are just OK. not enough choices for Gin.

Not bad for a large chain restaurant. I like the burgers and the garlic fries are very delicious. The beers are just okay if you ask me. It's on the top floor of Pacific Place and there's usually a crowd. Just getting into the restaurant or bar is sometimes a challenge.

I have had a long and checkered history with this staple in Pacific Place. I liked it when it opened years ago but it they have suffered a slow, steady decline. It's too bad too because there is a lot I like about this place. The restaurant is large with a nice bar and good ambience. It also offers the best variety of food of any restaurant in the mall. The problem for me is their complete lack of consistency in almost every area. The service is always unreliable and the food quality ranges wildly, not just from visit to visit, but dish to dish. Their beers are generally excellent but they have been known to be out of my favorites on more than one occasion. Then there are the lines, which, are ridiculous for a restaurant of this quality. I'll never wait for more than 10 minutes for a seat here which is actually disingenuous to say because I'll likely never eat here again.

Super strange dining experience. The only reason I'm giving it one star is the lady in the bar was nice while we waited a half an hour at the bar while they got a table ready in a place that was maybe a quarter full. As we walk through the large dining room toward our table by the window, (which was a nice view) most of the tables were empty and hadn't been busses, the room was a mess, while the manager and two other wait staff chat. The waiter came over took the kids order then didn't come back for 15mins. We then ordered, he said the soup of the day was really good, so we all ordered a cup of soup salads, and only one entree chicken sandwich. 38 mins later we got our Luke warm soup which looked and tasted like ragu spaghetti sauce out of the can. House salads sub par, a lot of white bitter part of iceberg lettuce. The chicken sandwich with brown avocado was bland and pointless with sweet potato fries over coated with sugar. Bizarre it was like French pixie stix's. 10 mins after our food we got our waters. Hearing the lady behind us asking for her check 4 times we got ours. After being there for an hour and a half still none of the tables had been cleaned off and the manager seemed to be wondering around doing nothing. All 5 adults were disappointed with the whole experience. Skip this place.

Its actually 3.5. We were there for late dinner. We received a warm welcome. The food was nice. But, it could have been a little warmer. They had a nice collection of drinks. I appreciated the fact that everything is made from scratch in-house.

I'm on the fence about this restaurant. My last visit was AMAZING. Our waiter was super cool (forget his name but he was very passionate about wine and beer) and very knowledgeable. Made us feel all classy which is always a treat. I had the fish and chips (garlic fries) and a beer. All of it was delicious and just enough food to walk away content. But their happy hour leave a lot to be desired. The menu is pretty slim and the offerings are not very appealing. Not my ideal happy hour spot with that menu. Also the lounge is not very big and they don't have a lot of places for parties of four or more to sit together. I'll give GB one more happy hour to pick up the pace and catch up with the amazing dinner service. So if you're in downtown Seattle and looking for a solid dinner, you can't go wrong with this place. Tips: Pacific Place's parking on the weekend is a nightmare. Don't even bother with their garage. Find one nearby. You may have to wait a bit depending on the night but the little alarms they give you have some range on them so you can still go browse around Pacific Place. Don't expect much to happen at Pacific Place after 9pm. We left the restaurant on a Saturday night at 8:56 pm and everything was closed. LAME!

  • Marc M.

Located on the upper floor of Pacific Place shopping center, this restaurant is ideally located for dinner or happy hour after a day of shopping or a night out to the movies. Speaking of happy hour, they have some good deals on both food and drinks especially when you can get any item from their specialty cocktail menu for $6.00 instead of $9.00. The food is good, but nothing I have had here has really stood out in my mind as exceptionally good, but then again nothing has been bad either. Overall I'd say this place really hits that solid middle ground where you're not going to go out of your way to either go here or to avoid it, but if you are nearby, it can be a good place to walk in to without much fear of being disappointed.

First time I was here was during the 2013 PAX event that was going on over the weekend. I was expecting kind of an expensive menu but boy, I was surprised. BEST burger I ever had, and for only $10. We came back here twice over the weekend for lunch. The staff was really friendly and helpful, didn't forget about the ranch that I asked for to supplement my meal.

I had a very weird experience here about a week ago. I came with a friend to get drinks and burgers. The food was decent, no complaints. However, apparently there was something "horribly wrong" with the ice maker, from the words of the waitress. She took our ice waters away and brought new ones without ice. However when we got our mixed drinks they had ice. I'm not quite sure what was wrong with the ice maker... Then a couple nights later I checked my bank account and someone had taken out an additional tip (I paid cash tip) from my card. So if you go here I'd advise to check it out. I'm sure it was just a mistake, and I filed a dispute with my bank to get everything corrected. The waitress was nice and everything, but I don't think I'll go back. I could get the same kind of burger at red robin for half the price...

Meh.... The drinks were 9 bucks for sugar and mint. Even though my drink claimed to have St. Germaine in it, I couldn't taste any. It was pretty much a $9 cup of juice. The garlic fried weren't as garlicky as I remembered, and I know I can get better and fresher from the Ram restaurants. Our servers were genuinely nice, and after my friend and I dropped where we worked (service jobs, woot!) it was nicer, but once we got our food and were ready to pay we literally had to wave to get our servers attention. The thing this place has going for it is the convenience factor for its location, especially if you're going to see a movie and want a slightly more upscale experience than Johnny Rockets. You WILL get out faster at Johnny Rockets, though.

This place has a great atmosphere and I love the GB club w/e-mail specials they send out! They are always tapping a new brew or sending something free! I enjoy coming here than any of the other local places to watch the games.. no drama!

I'm not a beer person, so I find it odd that I went here to have anything but beer. I went for happy hour, 4-6:30 pm, to have the specialty cocktails at $6 each. There are also some appetizers for $5. The bartender was so attentive and friendly - 5 star service - and he had the most kickass name, Chief. He made great drinks, gave me water as well, handled all the customers quickly, efficiently and professionally, while checking ID and coming around to make sure everyone was satisfied with their orders. He made me a rum runner and a classic mojito, both of which got me nice and tipsy! The bill was something like $13.50 (including tax), which I felt wasn't too bad, but then again, here I am being all high-maintenance and getting specialty cocktails at a place known for beer. I left because a GIGANTIC group of Amazon employees came in for some company event. I hightailed it out of there before the place got too busy. I had been here once before and ordered food from the kid's menu, which they thankfully had no problem with! It was much cheaper than trying to order appetizers or entrees. I ordered a Georgia Peach and had them add some peach schnapps to it as well. That cost extra; for some reason I was surprised, but looking back on it, I don't know why I expected it to be free. A solid place and I recommend the happy hour, and especially Chief as a bartender.

I've been here twice now and felt like it wasn't a very memorable experience either time. About the beer, my friend said it best: "You know, I start out feeling like the beer is okay, but after I've been drinking it for a while, I realize it's not that good." Hit the nail on the head. We were both drinking their seasonal amber lager (I think it was called Festbier), and in the end, it was just slightly bland and disappointing. I also ordered regular fries but got garlic fries. Not that I cared a ton, but if I had been a vampire, I would have been angry.

Dear Gordon Biersch, Hello friend! Long time no visit. We have shared sweet memories in the past but after visiting you today, I was a little let down. You weren't that busy today around lunchtime (which was nice), but for some reason, our server took about ten minutes to just find the table and ask us for drinks. Although he was very nice, the wait was just too long. I do remember how you serve up mean Crispy Artichoke Hearts, so I decided to give that another go. Unfortunately Gordon, after a longer wait time than usual they came out luke-warm and not as crunchy as I would have hoped. My boyfriend ordered your turkey sandwich, which he said was a little cold too. I'm wondering what took so long if you were practically empty!? Last but not least, things were a little pricier than I remember. $9.95 for an appetizer dish of mediocre artichokes? I would highly suggest rethinking the amount you are charging.... You were once dear to my heart old friend, but I feel that the times have changed. Please take good care of yourself.

I'm in love with GB for one reason, and one reason only - happy hour. They have happy hour until 6:30 on weekdays and the menu is extensive. They are deals on all of their drinks, and they offer a great selection of food. The happy hour pizza is the perfect size if you ask me. The staff is also super friendly and always provide good service. GB only gets 4 stars though because service in the bar area (which includes the "patio" can be a little slow. Not enough staff. Oh, and they don't have their own bathroom. You have to use the Pacific Place Public bathroom. At least it's not far away.

4 stars- only because they didn't have a seasonal. We ordered a flight- enjoyed the options then actually ordered another Czech Pilsner and Golden Export. Beers were tasty and fresh- we ordered the Baja taco appetizer. They were heavy-handed with the cilantro which was appreciated- great appetizer. Can't say much more as we didn't eat the entrees but the beers and our appetizer were top notch.

Complete letdown if you are getting food. I had the California Burger and was completely bland french fries were bland. Ordered a new order of garlic fries nothing special. I was so unsatisfied with the burger i did not eat even half of it. The decor is really nice it is HUGE i did not get any beer here so i cannot comment on that the only thing that i can comment on is the food, Some food overhaul needs to be done here and not worth the trip up the escalator, sorry .

Great place to grab a bite to eat and a drink better catching a movie or after a little shopping spree. They have new bree release called "Tapping Party" when they come out with a new beer they brew on site. I personally recommend sitting at the bar and having one of the knowledgeable bartenders tell you about the newest beers that have been typed in brewed locally to pair with one of many new items that they add seasoning read to their menu. I was recently in stopped in for a cocktail and a little bite to eat while doing a little shopping and had an amazing server named Anthony who recommended the fish tacos and one of the new beers to they had tapped. He was a delight super funny and definitely will come back to visit him and the rest of the great staff at this location! But kudos to that Anthony guy was really fun!

This was my first visit and doubt I would return. The restaurant was recommended by the hotel and we received a 10% discount but even so I would not bother. The best part of the meal was the in house beer which was very tasty and liked by the three of us that tired it. The other plus was the house specialty garlic fries if you like garlic that is. Our group loved the fries so your best bet is to just come for beer and fries. We had a table next to the kitchen and it became obvious that the kitchen was in chaos. Plates being returned, reheated, made in error. Not sure if the staff was new but we were told the menu was brand new this night. Oddly even the beers had no names just descriptions which worked for me but confused our waitress. She thought there should be actual names of the beers to place the order. Interesting when the wait staff is confused by their own menu. None of the food arrived at the same time and at least 2 of the 5 plates had cold food as if it were ready and served late. Which was odd given those meals were served many minutes before the other food so you might have thought the first plates were brought out to keep them from getting cold but that was not the case. The salmon I had was very mediocre which was quite sad given if any place should have excellent Salmon it should be Seattle. It was also over done but we did not bother to send meals back as we had waited far too long and just wanted to eat and go home. The staff was pleasant and generally attentive so I believe the biggest problem was in the kitchen. Maybe after they get use to their new menu the timing and quality of food will improve. With all the great restaurants in Seattle however I can't see myself returning any time soon.

I give this place four stars in part because they're right downtown and they're open late. It's 11:37pm and they handed us a full menu and bonus, theses guys make everything fresh, including their beer. The service is great too.

A good place to get a drink before a movie or after work. The drinks would take a while to come out, probably because of the popularity of this place. The food came out before the drinks sometimes.

A great place after a day of traveling. Our waitress was so nice. We are in from out of town and asked for suggestions for our anniversary. She wrote them down for us. The food was great. Boyfriend got the Black and Blu burger. The best grass feed beef I had tasted. The Tuna Salad and Pear Salad were great. Oh and don't forget the garlic fries they are amazing. Great place would definitely go again.

I think this place is a ok. I am a frequent Flyer at Nordstroms and This is my go to place for simple food on busy weekends downtown, it's really big so the wait isn't terribly long. I think it is exactly what you would expect for that kind of place, the food won't blow your mind, but it is good... Especially the garlic fries (as if it's possible to mess up garlic fries). I took a star away because at times the service seems a bit amateur, I think during the busy holiday season they get a lot of younger less experienced recruits just to make it through Christmas. All in all, good food, appropriate atmosphere, usually pretty good service. I'll keep coming back.

Brandon at the Downtown Gordon Biersch is the best! He remembers what drink my friend and I like and is quick since we are often on our lunch break. He provides service on our terms! Thank you, Brandon!

Good for late night post-movie eats. I had the Blackened Mahi sandwich with garlic fries. Completely satisfying except that it took way too long for there only being 5 other patrons in the entire restaurant/bar/patio seating. The staff were all pleasant and friendly and the restaurant was clean. This was just what I was looking for on a random Wednesday evening. The one downside to this place is that the restrooms are outside of the restaurant and next to the movie theater.

Went for lunch during Comic-Con, we had to escape the craziness. It was a great quiet option. The guy said that they had great fish and chips, the chips were their garlic fries and they were great. The fish was okay, heavy breading. The cobb salad that we split was the highlight, delish. Service was great. 3 stars for high prices and mediocre food.

Food is pretty good but service took long and messed up on our order. We did not get the drinks right away and one of our party had to wait 30 mins extra for main dish. We did not enjoy the dinner together and they only took care of 1 dish. Bad bad bad

Meh. Everything about this restaurant was barely mediocre. The food on the happy hour is expensive and small. The garlic fries were cold and soggy, and only slightly tasted like garlic. The restaurant was not busy and yet our service was slow, slow, slow. Even getting our menus took a while. Getting our food and our check all took a while. Not a place I would go back to.

Went into the restaurant side and was seated promptly. That was the last positive part of the meal. The waiter took our orders and then didn't come back to check on us until we asked for the check. The food was OK, but not good enough to bring us back. Terrible experience.

Want the experience of eating in an airport bar without actually being at the airport? You get the high prices and flustered service and reheated pre-made food but don't have to leave downtown! They have limited drink options Although they have a full bar they can't make a hot toddy. Not sure how that works. Pros are that the beer is decent and it's located conveniently in Pacific Place. Service was not very good. We had to flag our guy down multiple times. We were literally waving our arms and yelling to get him to come over to us. He would walk by our table and not look up at all. Shots of Crown were $8.50. Beer was decent. $5.25/pint I think. It's just so loud and the atmosphere is hectic. This is not my first choice by any means but it's ok for a quick stop when you're near Pacific Place. We had the crab artichoke dip which was a big portion. Quite salty but what do you expect? We didn't detect any crab whatsoever but aside from that the dip was good. We enjoyed it. $10.50. They give you plenty of crostini. I rarely tip a flat 15% but I did here. The service was pretty dismal and forced.

Food and beer were meh. Abby was awesome and really encouraging of trying the different flavors they offered, whatever the smoked beer was it was a fresh new experience! Nicholas our waiter was very educational about the rewards program.

The good, the bad, the ugly. We were immediately seated at a nice window table in the back of the restaurant and ordered cocktails while waiting for the rest of our group. It took awhile for our drink order and even longer for the water. Ordered a few starters and was told that they were out of chicken wings (really?), and the crab and artichoke dip ("but I'll be sure to take that off your bill" "of course you will, we didn't even get it"). Eventually ordered the southwest chicken egg rolls and charcuterie board. Egg roll (two, cut in half), were good and came with a dipping sauce. The charcuterie board came with soft crostini (meaning half charred toasts), a little pile of prosciutto and salami, and three measly 1" x 1/4" slices of brie, a skewer of olives, and a ramekin of grainy mustard. Our dinners were ordered - CBLTs and a grilled cheese. The sandwiches came on a nicely buttered and toasted ciabatta roll on the cut surface, but the rest of the roll was cold. The prep kitchen needed to take better care in not including the hard core end of the head lettuce in the sandwiches. The garlic fries were good like always, but could have been hotter. It could have been our waiter who left them sitting for awhile because everything was so slow. Water was slow to be refilled and drink orders were slow to be taken and brought out. One of our group spoke to the manager, who said he would comp our drinks (nice touch). When we were eyeballing the revised bill, we noticed that the waiter charged us for the crab dip which we never received. A comedy of errors, it was nice that the manager made things right again. Although there were some hits and misses on the food, I would go back if I were in the area.

Gordon Biersche = delicious beer. If you haven't had an opportunity to do their flights; do it! My favorite was the Schwarzbier; it's a dark brew but really refreshing and surprisingly crisp. Didn't have a chance to try the food was happy with my liquid diet :)

I am basing this review on just the unprofessional reception we got when we walked in and our waiter. It was after the jingle bell walk and we were hungry looking for a place to eat. The hostess was really firm about "We are not serving brunch til 11" and it was 10. But we don't care we could eat breakfast. When we sat down in the bar our waiter threw down (I'm not kidding) our coasters and just abruptly told us the brunch hours and that they don't have cream just milk for coffee. He was a grump. We just got up and left because both the hostess and waiter had unnecessary attitude. I don't care if you're in pacific place and think you're upscale because there are plenty of restaurants in the area that I am more than happy to give my business to. We went to Nordstrom Cafe and got fantastic food AND service.

They have a decent happy hour and they have decent beer brewed in house. They're known for their garlic fries, which are pretty good and their burgers are also pretty good. It's a decent place to stop for lunch or happy hour if you're downtown and don't have to spend too much. All in all, yea, it's decent.

Went for lunch and ordered chicken sandwich and garlic fries. Fries were cold and soggy. Chicken was overlooked and also cold. Would give one star but the Summer seasonal beer was pretty good.

The garlic fries. And the calamari. Both to die for! We were a group of 4 adults and 5 kids and they did great serving everybody and the waits were reasonable. Very pleased and would go again.

Went here for lunch with some colleagues today. The food was really bad and the service was slow. I got the California Chicken Sandwich. It was really dry and bland, a small overcooked piece of chicken with a lot of bread is not a sandwich. It could really use some sauce, seasoning and some spice to cut through the avocado. The only good thing on the plate was the side of garlic fries where were really great. My friends got a bunch of different burgers which they really did not like. As one of them worded it, the best thing on his burger was the tomato. The veggie burgers just completely fell apart and were a total mess. Below par flavorless food at high prices and slow service. I don't think I'm going back here anytime soon.

I had a really bad experience, not only did we wait a long time for the food, my seafood salad was off, the crab was grey and tasted vile. I felt quite ill, I will definitely not be going back. Meh is an understatement.

The food is an average place for hanging out. It is not something I will recommend if you're hungry because of the serving size and the price. The staff, they are very friendly but the food I wasn't too impressed.

A fairly okay meal, but nothing spectacular. I had the tacos with lobster and shrimp. Good flavor, and decent size portion. Their famous garlic fries were okay, but fairly limp. My husband had a burger which was pretty bland, as was the small garden salad. A small but decent wine list. Of course, the beer's the thing here, but we didn't try any. The service was good.....nice waiter, very friendly. Inside a mall, so nothing very interesting as far as location or ambiance. Prices seemed reasonable. Overall, just average....nothing bad, but nothing really great.

Meh. My husband and I wanted to check out their flight of beers and maybe catch dessert. We were immediately seated by a friendly young lady. She asked us for our seating preference and we just went with the bar. It was actually more like sitting by the kitchen. I ordered the flight while my husband used the restroom, and that flight of beers took forever. It was like catching a flight at Chicago O' Hare. She would pass by and say "'ll have that flight for you!" Twenty minutes and 2 promises of beer later, my husband finally got his flight of beers. When they arrived they weren't even on a paddle so it was just a bunch of little cups everywhere. Personally one of the small joys of beer tasting is having them neatly and orderly placed in front of me but oh well. The beers themselves were ok. I couldn't really find one that I liked. The hefeweizen had a very clovey after taste and I think it overpowered all the other flavors. The dunkel on the other hand had a. Ice malty after taste. So while I didn't like the first sip, the after taste was pretty nice. I finally gave in and tried a Kamikaze from here. Yes I know I am in a brewery but if you know me by know you'll know I like me a good Kamikaze and this one was on point! I definitely enjoyed it. The 3 stars you wonder? Well, I honestly felt we were forgotten and our waitress would make promises of things and would not come with them for a good little while. She also seemed annoyed that we didn't order appetizer or dessert. Atleast we sat up at the so called "bar" and we had expressed our intentions very early on. Still worth checking out after some shopping or before a movie.

Even though they have a lot of items on their menu, and this is my second time here. Nothing really stands out for me. I would give their food a 3 out of 5. Just mediocre on tasting, presentation & freshness. I ordered sliders today and some of the veggies they put in them were kind of.... stale. Although my husband salad's lettuce was good. Their food tastes kind of plain. When we got there and sat down outside the patio area, took awhile for the waitress to finally came by (to be fair they were pretty busy so I didn't mind) she put down the menus and pulled out a Happy Hour menu and kind of slam it down while telling us "HH items are in here". When we were ordering my husband asked if they could switch out the croutons in his salad for avocado (the reason we asked is because some places would happily comply this request for free), the waitress' response was, "No we cannot do that", which was totally fine, but she waited until my husband asked, "well can you not put croutons in and then just add avocado for extra cost?", she then replied, "yes". I don't know why she didn't give us the option of, "We can do that but it'll be an extra charge", she waited until we ask for it..... But then after the food came out her service picked up and she was nice for the rest of the time we were there. I'm not very impressed after the last 2 visits. So wouldn't be my first choice of dine in restaurant when I'm in downtown.

We came here on a Saturday night after a show at the Paramount. I had never been to Pacific Place before and didn't really know what to expect at GB. After zig-zagging up something like 4 escalators we arrived. We ordered only soft drinks since we were just coming off our buzz and had to drive and the waitress looked at us like we we had TB or something. We ordered calamari, wings (delicious!) and one other thing that wasn't really memorable. Food comes, calamari is swimming in grease, I try some and my fingers are covered with grease, no utensils, no napkins, and by now I'm wishing we would have just went back to Ruth's Chris where the food and service was outstanding. I will leave this place for the movie goers .....

I really want to give this place 3 1/2 stars. Overall, it was better than expected since most reviews aren't great on this place. My boyfriend ordered a liter of beer which amounted to a little under 4 beers for $12, so not a bad price. For food, we ordered their chicken & mushroom pasta which was good. I ordered a grilled cheese and added a tomato inside, that was also good. I wouldn't rate this place 4 stars because I did order a wine during happy hour, but wasn't charged the happy hour price. Instead of making a big deal, I just deducted that from their tip. I would recommend coming here during happy hour...and obviously making sure you're charged correctly during that. Their specials are a great price for what you get. I would come back to this place.

Had a great dinner last night. CBLT, lobster mac'n' cheese, seafood Cobb salad and ribeye steak. All of us were very happy. Good portions, good price and good service. Garlic fries were yummy! Will definately be going back. Server was friendly and patient with us girls talking away before finally ordering. When you can have a good dinner with cocktailS for under $50 you're happy.

Extensive menu - but surprised at the limited beer selection. I think they were out of the one dark beer I wanted to try. They don't have a restroom in the restaurant - you have to walk 100 yards to the mall bathroom, which is disgusting. They don't validate parking - 2 hours was $6 - LAME The restaurant is rather large, and we had a nice server. The food was good, maybe a little pricey. Sign up for their 'club' before you go to get a free entree on your birthday. gordonbiersch.com/passpo…

I got the grilled cheese with bacon and avocado mayo and to be honest it was underwhelming. I think it was the cheese they used. However the garlic fries were excellent. My boyfriend got the cajun pasta and he was raving about it. He said it was really flavorful (I didn't try it because I don't like shrimp) I'm disappointed they took the BBQ chicken pizza off the menu, it was good! Also our server was very attentive.

Ok drinks and subpar food. This two star rating is in comparison to other Gordon Biersch locations I have been to (San Diego being my favorite) and it just doesn't live up to the Gordon Biersch name. We came here because we got a Groupon gift from a friend for two pints and a growler. They only had five beers on tap which for a large brewery isn't that many. They didn't have any IPAs and the dunkel was good but definitely not the best one I've ever had. They did have an IPL on tap that was tasty so we decided to get that in the growler. The server came back and told us that they ran out of the IPL so we ended up with the dunkel (he was nice enough to bring us the leftover IPL on the house which was almost enough for a full pint). The growler is nice and that will be nice to keep refilling (at other breweries). I wouldn't even bother with the food the next time I came here. We shared the southwest egg rolls which had ok flavor, but the pulled chicken apparently was put through a blender or food processor and was more like a paste. Gross. The salami pizza had soggy dough even though they made it in a stone oven (frozen dough perhaps?) Given that there are several breweries in Seattle that are much better, I doubt I'd come to this location again.

This four star is from today's visit. We stopped by for lunch. Previous visits were closer to 3 - 3.5. GB recently changed their menu; therefore, this was a new experience. The beer was also updated to include new brews made onsite. First we orders drinks. I noticed there was a Saison on the menu (Belgium farmhouse ale). Saison is one of my favorite style of beers and I gave it a shot here. The beer was properly served in a tulip glass. The beer was fresh, crisp, and actually consistent with a Belgium Saison. I would buy the beer again. For lunch we shared a salami pizza and added bacon. The pizza was enough for my GF and I. The pizza was better than the previous ones we have tried here off the old menu. The pizza was very good. It's not too thick and not thin, just right. It's a little in the doughy side. I ordered the IPA to pair with the pizza. The IPA had was nice and hoppy and went down smooth. Overall, better experience than previous visits. No wait at the bar, food and beer were quick and good service during he Comic Con busy weekend.

Heard this place get talked up quite a bit so my wife and I decided we had to try it. If you're in town on business or something like that the environment makes sense otherwise it's just not super lively and feels kind of forced. The food we had was okay - two stars. We rated this three stars though because the beer was actually pretty dang good.

I typically stop by Gordon Biersch before catching a movie at AMC Pacific Place next door. With a large menu, you'll surely find something that fits your taste. Although I don't personally drink beer, it seems they have a pretty good selection to choose from. My recommendations: - Bratwurst sliders - Garlic Fries (addicting!) - BBQ chicken pizza Service for groups of 7 or more during HH feels chaotic and unorganized, hence the reason for the 3 star rating. Decent food though.

I enjoyed our experience here. The waiter was great!! Recommended the Bloody Mary and I was very happy with it! Wasn't just tomato juice and vodka!!! Had a big of a kick to it!! They have a pretty good size menu, with something for everyone. I know them more for beer then cocktails. But they had a good cocktail list! Loved the chicken wings and was surprised by the amount you got. They had great flavor and spice! My hubby got the rib eye and was happy that they actually know how to cook medium(guess most places don't). The potatoes that came with it were yummy. But the veggies weren't, not cooked well. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but if in pacific place I would go back.

Gordon Biersch is a great place to grab drinks or appetizers while you wait for a movie at Pacific Place AMC theatre. If you pre-buy your movie tickets, you can show them to your wait staff and you will get a free appetizer. The quality of the food is OK. The fries and burgers are pretty good, but I was not all that impressed with the sliders. I paid almost 10 dollars during the full price menu for a Crab Slider only to be served a itsby bitsy tiny slider that was barely even the size of one bite. I was expecting to be served 3 sliders but I only got one - the menu did not specify the quantity. PROS: The french fries are really good! The atmosphere is nice, and the restaurant is huge. The burgers are pretty yummy They have great happy hour pricing from 3-6pm (but only in the bar!) CONS: The wait staff is consistently rushed and not very friendly. I had a pretty poor experience with my most recent waitress. I sat in the bar waiting for 5 of my friends and ordered a red wine. The waitress asked to see my ID, but I could not quickly find my ID in my messy wallet so she told me I could not sit in the bar (totally understandable!). So she quickly picked up and moved all of the menus and silverware out of the way but didn't attempt to re-seat me anywhere - It seemed like she was just rushing to get me out of the bar because she didn't want to work with a large party of 6. I ended up having to re seat myself at a table in the main restaurant and recovered my friends menus on my own from the front. I quickly found my ID after moving to the restaurant, and so my new waiter happily helped me move back into the bar but the original waitress who shuffled me out quickly gave him a shocked look and said "but she doesn't have an ID!" I then corrected her and said "yes I do - I found it!" and she rather than checking my ID to verify that I did in fact have it, she simply said "oh okay. I will grab you that Merlot then!" and then proceeded to serve me alcohol without even checking my ID. This was a bit frustrating considering she had just put me through this big hassle of shifting seats in and out of the bar so I asked her "so did you want to at least look at my ID then?" and she quickly glanced at it. Then for the remainder of the evening she guffawed at my 5 friends after they eventually showed up, who were a group of somewhat nerdy engineers. She said "when you told me you were waiting for your friends, I assumed you were having a girls night out and a bunch of your girlfriends would be showing up, not this group of guys!" and I said "we are still waiting for one more" and she rudely said "am I going to laugh even harder when he shows up?" It was bit surprising and mean - it seemed like she was blatantly making fun of me and my friends. Other than that, the food is pretty tasty. It's not the greatest food on Earth, but it is definitely pretty yummy if you enjoy traditional American food options.

So, for the longest time, I refused to step foot in Gordon Biersch (GB). This side of a million years ago, long before the age of Yelp, I experienced a major customer service fail here. Since it was that long ago, the details are probably unimportant. Let's just say, it was bad enough that it kept me away for 13+ years. Recently, on stepping out of a movie at PP one night, my husband finally convinced me that, whoever was responsible for my negative experience there an eighth of a century ago, has to be long gone (especially since they sucked at their job), and I should give GB another chance. And, so I did. And, it was fine, if not particularly over- (or under-) whelming. A couple of their sandwiches looked ok, but I was not in the mood for fries. And, the only choices for sides seemed to be their "legendary" garlic fries, or, for an extra charge, their sweet potato fries. Not sure if any other sides were available, but, if they were, they were not advertised. I ended up going with the Bruschetta Chicken -- chicken topped with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil -- served with rice pilaf and grilled asparagus. It was fine, if not amazing. Husband polished off his Kobe burger with no problems. I ordered the 9 oz glass of wine, but was brought the 6 oz glass (but was also charged for what I was brought, so that was good.) Still, we thought the $42+ (pre-tax) price tag for what was some not much more than mediocre food was a bit above the odds. You're definitely paying for location here. Overall, not sorry I finally gave GB another try. They are convenient. Not sure I'd go back for dinner any time soon. But, might check out HH (where my not-what-I-ordered wine would be $2 less/glass) in the less-distant future.

Ok 2nd time here in months and months. Ordered top sirloin and garlic fries. Asked for medium cooking on meat. Plate came out and steak was barely warm... plus it was closer to we'll done. Told waiter, who was very good, that it's not what I ordered. . He agreed. . Told his manager... manager came over and with excellent customer service, made it all right. Whole new dinner, cooked perfectly and comp'd the entire meal. Wow. Excellent customer service, made things right and now I will be back, hands down. Great place, service. .. basically cook screwed up. Manager fixed this experience... I'm sold now on GB. THANK YOU MANAGER AND WAITER (May 16th, 2015)

Food was fine, service was horrible. This place does not know how to handle an influx of customers, and our particular server was just bad. I could not understand a word he said because he mumbled SO much and spoke so fast; even after asking "excuse me?" several times, my friends and I were dumbfounded. He failed to accommodate a very easy mixed drink, twice (even after we were told by the manager that was something that should have been easily doable). Overall, OK for food, but don't expect anything but subpar service.

We arrived in Seattle after 3 days of traveling with 3 children. We arrived a little after 8pm and were seated promptly. It took long time for our drink order to arrive (just soda and water). Our meals took a long time as well. This seemed a little odd, since the restaurant did not seem busy. Our food arrived and we lost all contact with our waiter. The kids meals were warn and decent. The meals for the adults were cold. Cold fish and a cold burger......simply inedible. When our waiter reappeared, he kids were done eating. We explained that the adult meals arrived cold. He asked if we wanted something else. While a warm meal would have been welcomed, it simply wasn't logical to,wait for a second entree with 3 kids. He did offer to ask the manager if he would remove the charge from our bill. After a lengthy wait, we finally decided to seek out e manager on our own. Ultimately the cold meals were removed from our bill and we were given a $20 gift card for for our next visit.

Overall, I like this place and I often come for happy hour before seeing a movie at the AMC theatre across the way. Located on the top floor of Pacific Place, it's definitely in a convenient location. The happy hour menu is okay, though the options are not extremely expansive. Happy Hour prices generally range from $6-$10 for a food/drink item. I always get the Baja tacos, which 4 fish tacos for $7 is a solid choice. If I had more time, I would probably go somewhere else (outside of Pacific Place for happy hour), but Gordon Biersch is a good place if you're in need of some grubbing in a pinch. I've eaten from the regular menu before. The food is decent and reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory for some reason, minus the cheesecake. It definitely has variety of different beers though (which is a must try if you come).

I was in here on my birthday last month. The food and drinks were perfectly fine, but our waitress was atrocious. If it weren't for Liz's godawful service, I'd give more stars. There was hardly anyone inside the place so being overly busy wasn't a reason for her being inattentive and unavailable to us. She did have plenty of time to stand at a table and talk for nine minutes straight with her back to us, though. I finally had to go up, tap her on the shoulder, and ask her for our check. I won't go back specifically because I don't want to risk ever having her as a server again.

I sent this to Gordon Biersch: I visited the Gordon Biersch Brewery restaurant at 600 Pine St, Ste 401, Seattle, WA 98101 on 1/23/14, at 10:52am. I know the time because the bartender told me that I couldn't get anything to eat until the kitchen opened in 20 mins. I told him that it was 11:00am in 8 mins. A chef was standing next to him and laughed and said that they needed more time to prepare the kitchen. I thought that the restaurant opened at 11:00am? I left and walked around for 10 mins then returned to the bar. I placed my order after 11:00am. The system clock on the computer is not correct or the bartender opened my order early because it says 10:58am on the receipt which is not correct. It was about 11:20am and I still had not received my food (chicken and avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries). There were only 4 other people in the restaurant and no one else had ordered yet. I watched a different chef walk out to the bar (Hispanic or Asian male, bald with a mustache). The chef had a burrito in his hand as he walked up to the condiments. I watched him squirt something onto the burrito then start eating it! I sat there waiting for my food while the chef stood there in front of me eating his lunch!!! To top it off one of your white male waiters was sick. He stood at the other end of the bar (near me) and talked with the bartender. He had the nerve to blow his nose over and over again at the end of the bar! I couldn't believe it! It was absolutely disgusting. Two more people walked in and sat down. He took 2 menus over to that table. He never washed his hands. Where are the managers? I saw regular employees with lots of free time talking to each other and very little getting taken care of. By the way, $20.00 at Home Depot for sandpaper, stain, and polyurethane will allow you to redo the finish on the wood strip for the front of the bar. It's a mess. I will be posting this to my Yelp account. I don't usually complain. As you can see from my Yelp history, the vast majority of my comments are positive for restaurants.

Checked this place out recently,I was going to a movie next door and we stopped by to have a little HH before the tearjerking movie we watched. Nice place inside and there's an outside part (dont get your hopes up, its outside but you are still sitting inside the mall). Anyways, there is a HH menu, food is pretty good from calamari, fries, flatbread pizza, to sliders(buns are a little dry though). But overall we enjoyed the bar food. A lot of tv's to watch sports on. I like the long bar top tables in the middle, get to know your neighbor style or get to know an a-hole neighbor sitting next to you. Service is ok, seems like they were a little short handed that day, only 3 servers working the entire bar and patio area....so it was a little slow getting our food and drinks and check. A lot of other items on the menu I wanted to try, guess Ill go back again to check it out. Happy Happy Hour'n!

I've been here three times and the service is always disappointing. Today we came in for lunch and it took close to an hour before our food came-out. Our order included two salads and two burgers. The food was mediocre I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch.

Hostess said we could sit in the bar.... with my teenagers. Then after waiting 10 minutes we were told we had to move to a table. Waited another 10 minutes to order...service was friendly, but painfully slow. Food runner brought the wrong food item to the table.... then the server brought correct items. Everyone enjoyed their food... my wedge salad was 1/4 of a head... that was the FULL... they had a 1/2 size that would have been literally 1/8 of a head of lettuce.... tiny.

I came here for happy hour with a few co-workers and was pretty put off by the service. Here is what happened: We sat down in the bar area and were handed food menus. We were just ordering beers, but they don't list the beers on the menu. So, after waiting a solid 6-7 minutes, this server comes over. I ask her if we could have a couple beer menus. She walks 7 feet over to the bar, grabs one menu and brings it back. There are three of us, so I ask her if she could bring us another one. She grabs another one, sets it on the table and stands there. I'm guessing she wanted us to order...(we just got the menus, give us a second). I ask her, politely, if we can have a minute or two to decide. She doesn't say anything, just walks away. Ok...sorry for my indecisiveness? We JUST got the menus. She comes back and we order our beers. At this point, i'm getting the vibe that she doesn't really like me/us for some reason i'm not aware of. Fast-forward, she brings over our beers. She brings us the wrong size for two of the beers...whatever, it's beer. We drink our beers, she comes over a little after, asks us if we want another one, I say no, then my two coworkers say yes. She walks away. I change my mind because i'm a follower. I don't wave her down, whistle at her, shout her name and tell her to come over. No...I get up, walk over to her and say "i'm sorry but I change my mind, i'd like another". She doesn't really say anything but kinda gives me this "look"...When I got back to the table, my co-workers told me she gave me the dirtiest look as soon as I turned around. The rest of our short time there was pretty much filled with the same type of treatment from her. I don't know what I did to her for her to treat me/us like that, but i've worked in restaurants before and I know I did nothing worthy of the treatment we received. The beer was pretty good, and i'd probably try the place again because i'm not going to let one rude person tarnish my opinion of the restaurant, but I just had to note how rude our server was.

I'm going to a difficult period in my life with a divorce and such. Gordon Biersch became sort of my refuge, my quiet safe place. Every weekend I come here for a Martzen beer. It's my time to think. The bartenders are always great. Today the bartender just said "Your beer is on me". His gesture meant to me that my life is going to be OK. Thank you Gordon, you're much more than just a restaurant, you're good people.

Decent food but very marginal service, even when it was not very busy. Waitress screwed up multiple entrees from a our six person group. Got corrected food after everyone had finished their meals and then had to endure 10 minutes for numerous overcharges on the bill (eg, billing for a corrected entree). Overall, decent beer, average good and average atmosphere. Given the mediocre service, we won't be back

I would definitely go to this place again. I had the most amazing warm apple bread pudding with pecans, sauce, and ice cream oh my. The beef sliders and the bratwurst were do good. We also had the artichoke and blue crab dip, ahhhh it was ok not sure I actually saw any crab but it was ok. Did not spoil the snack.

This was a pretty decent place for happy hour. Food was cheap and service was good. Portion is pretty generous also. Also was tasty. They even gave me a free dessert cause it was my birthday. I would come back for sure, maybe to try their actual entree but I'm pretty in for happy hour at this place.

Worst experience! Visiting beautiful Seattle, first evening here and my brother and I decided to grab a bite to eat while watching the basketball game.... Big mistake. Service was bad, the waitress constantly checked on everyone else and not us. After food was brought out she never checked to see if everything was ok, if she did I would've told her my salad was horrible. My brother had to ask for a refill, and if it weren't for someone sitting next to us, she wouldn't have cleared my brothers empty plate. I barely touched my hideous chicken salad, after the conclusion of the meal the waitress mentioned the salad still there. I asked if it was turkey or chicken on my Caesar, it looked like sliced turkey chopped up on my salad. Needless to say, I still got charged full price for mediocre food that I barely touched. To top it off, waited for a very long time for her to realize I was ready to pay. Such a shame because the other serving staff seemed very friendly and accommodating, we just got a bad server. I feel like I shouldn't have left gratuity but I ended up giving her 15% which was way more than she deserved. Don't know her name, girl with curly hair.

Lets just keep it simple. Ryan is a wonderful server. We came in for a decent little group for a birthday party and he was pleasant. He made sure all of our beers were filled the entire time we were here. He kept up with our orders, made sure we were happy, was patient and a joy to work with. The crab cake app is totally overpriced but the quality is great. The mashed potatoes ruled and I had a great time here.

GB is solid, has tons of seating, a nice "sunny" patio and pretty decent service. Try to sit at the bar and get Chief or Patrick. Both awesome guys who provide great service. Those guys are the reason for my 4 stars. Their pizza is pretty good, love the Kobe burger. They brew their own beer, NO, that's not a fake brewery behind the glass. Seasonal rotations, keg tapping and holiday specials if you join their little passport program.

We go here more than I realize. I tried to think of the different dishes I've had a Gordon Biersch and my list is longer than I thought. So here's a quick run-down: The Good: Garlic Fries, Beer Sampler, Cobb Salad and Marzen BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Burgers The Bad: Goat Cheese & Hummus salad. This salad was weird. It sounded good - all the fixings are things I love. Goat Cheese, Hummus, Flat Bread on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes. I opted to add chicken....too bad some of that chicken looked slightly undercooked (eek!) This really didn't seem like a salad, it was more like an appetizer - it was quite hard to eat a lot of goat cheese and hummus as your main dish. Overall, I think you'll always get a decent meal if you go with a sandwich, garlic fries and a beer. A good, quick meal before running off to watch a movie @ Pacific Place...which is usually when we eat here.

Fried artichoke hearts and the best damn dirty martini I've ever had made for a perfect mid-day break. Outside of those, I wouldn't expect too much beyond your typical chain experience.

Nothing special - it's a big chain restaurant at the top of a downtown mall. That being said, it's a fine place to get a little something if you're starving before your movie!

OK, so the garlic fries sucked!!! The banana split which is part of the new summer menu was only OK... not good, not bad either... literally just OK. would probably not recommend it. I give it 3 stars because we had an amazing service! The past few times we have gone here, service has always been great!

Overall, pretty okay. Had a large formal gathering here with some friends and the ambience/service was way better than the food. A friend recommended the Steak Frites which was pretty good. Although, I did ask for it to be made with garlic fries and when I got it... it wasn't. Eh, not gonna trip about it though. The only problem I had that evening was that a friend and I were charged for drinks we had already purchased at the bar and it was put on the whole group check. It took a while for us to figure out why our check was so high, but after we told the waiter he fixed it pretty quick.

The #1 reason Gordon Biersch is getting 4 stars is because of its garlic fries... so incredibly delicious. They are really addicting and I find myself wanting to get them often! I've never been disappointed with the service... the staff is always really great. The food is good and haven't been too dissatisfied with any of the dishes. I'd probably go with the appetizers or any of the sandwiches... oh, and my roommate always gets the chicken pesto pasta. He still raves about it all. the. time. Just go here if you've just gotten done shopping @ Pacific Place or are on your way to a movie.

I ate here last night for a friends birthday dinner. She reserved a room in the back for us during 9pm-12am. Guests were in and out, and they said that we could order off the menu at our own pace, so orders were being put in randomly. The service was interesting. We had 3 servers at first and then through most of the night it just turned into 1. To make a long story short, this particular waiter was very pushy. He got upset at a couple of my friends who had JUST arrived and sat down. He hovered over them and rushed them to order and he had the nerve to say "You know you guys gotta order fast, the kitchen closes around 11:15-11:30 and were tryna get outta here." For Christ sakes it was only 10:40! CHILL OUT! And he was so persistent to give us our checks and waiting around for us to sign the bill to see how much tip we would leave him! How annoying! I know my group of friends felt really rushed to get out of there and when we walked out we saw that there were still a bunch of other people eating and hanging out in the restaurant! Not cool man!!!! This restaurant has small portions and charges a lot for their food. I wouldnt pick to come back to this place on my own. I ordered the avocado chicken sandwich because it was recommended by another waiter and when it came out it was extremely soggy, and SUPER bland!!! I had to douse that thing in ranch! BUT i will say, the garlic fries that came with my meal and the fresh mozzarella pizza (with basil & roma tomatoes) was EXTREMELY DELICIOUS!!!!!

I was here for the first time for my sister's birthday dinner. It was an overall good experience. The food is pretty tasty but nothing more than special! I had some type of steak medallions and it was amazingly done. My sister's steak was too red so she asked if they can cook it more. They brought it back to her but it was too cooked to the point where it was dry. It also took a very long time. Either way, we all enjoyed our meals and left his place full!

My partner and I ate here this afternoon. We were seated within seconds of entering the restaurant. There were very few customers in the restaurant at the time. 2 wait staff were working in the area of where we were seated. Both of them had looked our way but neither of them bothered to come over to greet us. Both of them were busy bussing and cleaning tables. Finally after of about 15 minutes we were greeted by Alta. She was pleasant and took our orders. We both ordered the same thing, the Kobe burger, I had ordered mine medium well, she sharply responded "be prepared for it to take longer since you ordered it medium well". At that point I could really care less, I was already disgusted by the service. We should of got up and left. While waiting we could of used a refill on our iced tea. The other waiter acknowledged us and said he would be back to refill. Well he cleaned 2 other tables before he came back to refill. The burgers showed up and delivered by Alta. For the few people that were in the restaurant I would of expected her to checked back to see how everything was cooked to our perfection but, she did not check back. She brought the check shortly after, we paid and left. The burgers were ok, very few carmelized onions on the burger but the garlic fries were good. I won't be going back again, instead I will go over to Johnny Rockets for a burger and fries. Very disappointed. Alta needs to find herself a new job. Management might want to recommend that to her.

So far I haven't really enjoyed the beer here and find only some of the food good, but.... it's a pretty darn convenient spot to grab a drink & bite before a movie at the AMC and they have some happy hour options I like! So, since I want to end on a good note, I'll start with the dislikes. I don't really like the hefeweizen that tasted like bananas or the golden export that seemed to pack less of a punch than even PBR. Food-wise I only really enjoyed one of the toppings/dips that come with the tapas (the olive tapenade), so when I ordered it this time around I found myself rather disappointed. The GOOD? I have found the staff to be pleasant, I still very much like the artichoke hearts, and during my last visit I became a pretty big fan of their martini's! I can't recall which one I had, but I think it was a lychee martini. It tasted like a delicious juice! I love drinks that taste like delicious juice. It didn't taste like alcohol, but I enjoyed it enough that I really didn't care. If I find myself here for some pre-movie food again, I am definitely sitting on the patio* again and going for a fruity martini and some crispy artichoke hearts. *This location is on the upper level of Pacific Place so the "patio" is indoors, but it's good for people watching (especially if there's a movie screening line!) and GREAT if you're planning on meeting up with people (because it makes it easy to spot each other).

We had decided to get a bite to eat late in the evening after touring the city. We were greeted by a jovial, upbeat very cordial waiter. He just started the dinner off so positively. A couple of us had the Kobe Cheeseburger, Garlic Fries, Salad, Chocolate Cake, and a Tuscan Chicken Pasta dish. Well, we thoroughly enjoyed our Cheeseburgers and Garlic Fries were so tasty, if you like Garlic. There's a lot of garlic piled on it. Yum! I can't tell what type of salad my niece had, no comments from her corner. She and her mother shared a chocolate cake, something that they have been waiting to sink their teeth into. They ate the whole thing. It was a large piece. My daughter had the Tuscan Chicken Pasta dish. The dish looked huge but she ate it all and probably could have eaten more. Well, we had a great time and thought that the food was also as great. We would return again.

Dear Gordon Biersch, I really really want to like you, I dare say I've given you more than enough chances over the last 5 years, but the most I have to say about you is "Meh." The food is wildly inconsistent, but the location draws me back every time, as I'm a fan of the Pacific Place theater. Recently, my husband and I dropped by for a beer before our movie, hard to mess up right? HA. We started off on the wrong foot when the first thing the waitress said to my husband was, "Oh, I thought you were a lady from the back because of your long hair." Um, what? First of all, he's 6'1. Secondly, why on earth would you say that out loud? After a shocked silence, we tried to order a beer. They were out of half of the selections. When we received our selection there was so much head on the beer we had to wait another 10 minutes to take a sip. The beer was not worth a 10 minute wait or the $5 for a glass, it was bland. Then we had to flag our waitress down for the check and again to get her to pick it up. I will inevitably get suckered into coming here for the sake of convenience again but not for lack of trying. Meh, Danielle

Wanted to grab a quick bite and a beer after a film. Nice looking place. Beer was crisp and refreshing (German Purity Laws apply). Kobe beef sliders pretty much sucked the beef was gummy and stale. Not much flavor. I will go back given the chance.

First off... My boyfriend and I went there... I ordered a veggie burger with garlic fries (yum!) and a peach iced tea (double yum!) He ordered a turkey sandwich and regular fries. Secondly... He got his beer... All I have to say is "Would you like some beer with your foam?" then, He got his turkey sandwich and the inside of the bread was burnt completely black... So we sent the sandwich back and watched the cook freak out about it (open kitchen) Then we got it back and the guy just swapped out the bread, it still had a bite taken out of it) and it was toasted on one side and completely untoasted on the other side, thats when we got super mad... The short cuts that were taken by the kitchen staff were so unacceptable, as well as their demeanor. Our waiter was pleasant and the manager came over and apologized and completely took care of the drinks and my food. We still tipped though, but never again.

Sweet HH spot. We shared the garlic fries and tapas. Now... garlic fries with sauce? Ehh, to me it was ok trying them, but usually I enjoy standalone garlic fries (sauces can stick to the non-garlicky ones, if ya ask me). The tapas was tasty. Some herby flatbread, garlic cloves(?), hummus... yum. Great HH fare. Great spot at top of Pacific Place. Perfect for pre-movie action or post-work HH dive. Cool decor, and flatscreens around, too.

I've never been to a restaurant for a visiting NFL team fans brunch.... but Gordon Biersch does this during several Sundays for the football season. We arrived here just before 9am, and they had all their doors open, tv's on with NFL channels on, and ready to show the mornings games. It was EASY PEASY to get a spot to sit as we were almost the first people to arrive. We decided to eat at a table in the bar, looking over the open patio... and getting to watch all the SD Chargers fans arriving, and cheering with all these people. Soon, there were 500 Chargers fans.... all dressed up in their gear, ready to be united in our unwaivering love for our team. So many people we spoke with had traveled up from San Diego... and it was great to meet so many people from my home town. We ordered our brunch, and had our plates within 20 minutes. Our waitress brought us refills, and it was delicious. I went with the Bacon Scramble.... filled with bacon, onion, celery and peppers and breakfast potatoes, and topped with cheddar and pepperjack cheeses. My mouth was watering upon the deposit of the plate in front of me. The mimosa's were like all champaign and just a drop of orange juice, just for color. :) What a great gathering.... something to always remember. Thanks Gordon Biersch. You started off our day with an amazing kick (even if we did lose the game).

I don't frequent Gordon Biersch often, however I would like to share a most memorable experience. Its beginning started quite poorly, but resolved into one of the warmest, most sincere endings I have experienced from anyone in a bar/restaurant in the US or elsewhere. My wife (9 months pregnant), my cousin and I entered the bar for a drink and a quick bite before our movie as many do located next door to AMC in Pacific Place. We thought we would go out for a film as it may be one of the last times we get a chance to go out together for some time. The 1st server asked for our IDs and my wife, 36 years old, didn't have hers, so we were asked to move. It isn't easy for my wife to move as she is rather uncomfortable, but ithis is typical in the US and we did. However, it was quite ridiculous as we literally moved one table over in the outside area. We were then greeted with a smile by a young dark skinned charming woman, who I later learned her name to be Hibo. She greeted us with smile and quickly got our order for drinks going. We received our drinks and I put in my food order (Kobe sliders). We waited patiently for around 30 min or so and had not received the food, nor another query as to if we wanted a 2nd round. After another 10 min. I got up to ask for our bill as our movie was to begin in 15 min and we could not get her attention. It was clear from her face, she was embarassed and apologized multiple times stating she would comp my drink. She profusely requested us to return after our movie to make "amends" for the forgotten dinner that I ordered. Little good that did me now and although frustrated, we paid and proceeded to our show. I wasn't sure if I would ever return here after this incident. After 15 minutes into our film, with much surprise, the same server approaches us, in the theatre, movie going on, apologizing again and lets me know my food is ready. OK, let me restate this as I have never heard of this happening anywhere. The server who served me at a restaurant outside the theatre 30 minutes ago, left her work to come into theatre where we were watching the movie, Skyfall, managed to find me and told me my food was ready!! There is something like 15+ theatres there and she tracked us down? I don't recall even telling here what film we were going to. Stunned to see her promptly leave, I continued watching the film. A few minutes later, she returned with my sliders, warm and ready to eat in a carry out, again apoligizing. My wife, my cousin and I all were in awe. Unbelievable! She went so far above and beyond the service one would expect to correct this sort of mistake, I was taken back and rather amazed. She did more than just correct a mistake, she made good on her word with actions that were heartfelt, as well as "stomach-felt", and her sincere concern to right the wrong was admirable. It is rare to find an individual today with such concern and will to demonstrate it in her work. I returned after the movie to thank her personally and provide a tip that I withheld earlier. I really felt like giving her a hug as her customer service, was not only outstanding, but made me feel cared for. In any facet of life, what else can one ask for. Businesses would do well to hire individuals of this sort of caliber, if they can find them. I will return again to Gordon Biersche, perhaps sooner if possible and as long as Hibo is there, my allegiance will remain. You rock Hibo and your kind actions are noted! Thank you again, my friend. Cheers! Dr. Nicholas Feris --Founder of The Rum Collective

Three of us stopped in here for a bite an hour before our movie started. Upon walking in the door we stood there for about a minute before a manager greeted us. We told him we wanted to sit where we could just grab a drink and snack and get to our movie on time. He suggested the patio, but then walked away to let the now present hostess seat us. She just suggested we go to the patio. She didn't show us to a table or even point us in the direction of the entrance to the patio. Had never been here before, I asked her which way, and she didn't understand my question. Finally she understood and pretty much pointed in the direction. That was my first put off. They were very busy, but our server was right there when we sat down. I told her that we are going to eat and run and she acknowledged that we were probably off to the movie theatre. So I was confident that she had dealt with movie customers quite frequently and that we'd be in and out within our hour time limit. We ordered HH pork tacos, HH BBQ Chicken pizza and a slice of strawberry cheescake. And waited. Food was not fast at all and waiting took up the majority of our time. Finally the pizza came and it was hot and delicious. But that was all that came. 5 minutes later a plate of fish tacos are set on the table. My husband says he ordered pork, the food runner apologizes and takes them away. 2 minutes later the cheesecake comes out. I cannot believe they let that even leave the kitchen. The sliced strawberries were visibly unappealing as they were brown in the middle, which either means they were rotten or had been frozen forever. I immediately put them off the side and took a bite or two of the cake, which was dry and just plain gross. Then my husband picks one of the strawberries off the plate and shows me a huge black spot and mold on its side. I was disgusted. How did that ever make it on a plate and not in the garbage? And if the berries are bad, what else is allowed to go bad and then is served? While we were discovering the moldy strawberries, a second plate of FISH tacos arrives at the table via the food runner. Again they took it away. My husband was not happy. I then realized we were going to be late meeting friends for the movie and I left disgusted letting my husband deal with the situation. I have worked in food service all my life. I don't usually write reviews because I am pretty forgiving knowing how it is to work in the industry. But from the moment we walked in this place, it was mediocre at its best. For the food runner to run out the wrong food twice and serve a dessert covered in rotting strawberries, is really just unacceptable. In my experience, I would have to say that no one is checking the walk in to see if anything has spoiled. And if they are not checking the produce (frozen or fresh), then they aren't checking other stuff, like the chicken.....Not a good situation. After my husband met up with me, he said that the Manager comped the meal and was apologetic. We thank you for that. My advice, go there for a beer. Don't order food. If you are not planning on spending a couple hours here, go to Il Fornaio's grab and go cafe in the atrium.

My New York Strip sandwich was good and service was excellent and friendly, but my Pilsner tasted like piss. (Just a guess as to what piss tastes like) They charged me $10 plus tax for an EMPTY growler! Shame on you! Growler #35

Typical franchise restaurant serving mediocre food. For what you pay, you'd be better off walking down the street any of Tom Douglas' restaurants. HOWEVER, if you're looking for a convenient place to grab a drink before you see a movie at Pacific Place, this is a suitable choice. It's restaurants like this that ruin the Seattle nightlife downtown. But then again, what do you expect, the restaurant is in a mall area.

I was surprised at the quality of the food and service. It was great. I would go back. We went only because our 5th ave theater tickets gives us discount. Portion sizes are big so the prices are appropriate. You can easily split meals. The only draw back is the noise level, not an intimate dining location .

Standard Gordon Biersch, but in a shopping mall. Still, its a nice shopping mall. Recommended if you have to be downtown. But if you can walk it, take theyself to 2nd St. in Belltown or to go Capitol Hill and skip the business/tourist/conference-goer crowd that comes here.

Stopped in here before seeing a show at The Paramount. We were seated fairly quickly, and our server was cool. I hear that this restaurant is a chain, but they do brew their own beer on site. That's always nice. My bro ordered the sampler, and we all sampled from it. They had a special menu going on which revolved around "island"/Caribbean food drinks. I had a drink which was blue and had a gummy shark in it. How old am I? Am I a guy?? I had some coconut prawns and they were fairly good, and the sauce was decent. Our server was able to get us out the door before our show started, so we were happy all-around.

If I could give this a negative five star I certainly would. I walked into this restaurant to be inappropriately touched by a waiter. I certainly had the worst birthday ever thanks to there bad service. I walked out feeling like trash and my friend who was with me was also being flirted on by the waiter. I have not even had a chance to go back to this restaurant to give the new manager a chance at this restaurant.

I frequented their Palo Alto, CA, branch often and had nice memory. The beers became franchised and no longer that unique. I was delighted to discover it in Seattle. The happy hours deal was great. Beers off by $2 and foods are very reasonably priced. Beers are tasty as expected. Go for the bar area and you will leave with good memories too.

They had a specials menu when I went a couple days ago for dinner after a movie. Lobster/shrimp mac-n-cheese came with bowtie pasta which definitely isn't as nice as elbows but the whole thing was pretty tasty. One of the stars is just for location which is hard to beat before or after a movie at the Pacific Place AMC theater... I used to go to the one in San Jose CA all the time when I lived there.

It's a typical chain with chain food, service and ambiance. But the Surf & Turf Burger is definitely worth mentioning. Maybe it's because I'm pregnant. Maybe it was that I was starving. Regardless... I ate until my stomach was going to explode. Just thinking of that burger is making my mouth water.

wow... the last few reviews gave them 1 star... I think I'll be nice and give them 2 because of the beer, the location, and the ambience, but the food... no, no, no... I've been here a couple of times. I remember I have never been happy here, but I'm yelping about the most recent time I was there. It was a few weeks ago for lunch. I also can only yelp about what I ordered, which was the new york steak and tempura shrimp entree. I ordered my steak medium-rare as I usually do. It took like 20 minutes before we received our food. It also took a while for our drinks. My steak was waaay overcooked. It was not even pinkish! So it was not juicy, tender, or any of that good stuff. I can cook a better steak at home! Also, the tempura shrimp was not TEMPURA shrimp, it was the type of fried shrimp you would normally get at a 'chinese american' restaurant with the sweet and sour sauce, but they gave me 'tempura' sauce with it. Not happy. I don't like it when I'm not happy with my food. :( Waste my damn money! Should I ever come back here again, maybe I'll try a burger... I can't go wrong with a burger, right? yikes...

This was my first time to a Gordon Biersch. I had never heard of it before, but my wife and I were at Pac Place for a movie and we thought it'd be a nice choice due to its proximity to the theater. It was a Tuesday night, so not at all packed. There was no wait and we went straight to a table. It was during Happy Hour, so we had to wait a few minutes for our waitress to bring us a HH menu. I ordered the Southwest Slider Combo, which came pulled pork sliders, southwest eggrolls, and garlic fries. I debated getting a beer to drink, but the menu had no prices on it. I could've asked I suppose, but just decided to go with a root beer. The pulled pork was pretty good, as were the fries. Nothing special, but not bad at all for a HH option. I really wasn't sure what the "southwest" eggrolls would taste like, but they were also pleasantly good. Our waitress, Elizabeth, was nice and kept the refills flowing on time. Only issue I had with her was at the end of our experience. We needed to shove off and get to the movie, but we hadn't seen her in quite a while. My wife headed to the restroom and I waited around to settle the tab. As a last note, the restroom was another issue. Simply put, they don't have one. There's one out in the mall, and that's the one you have to use. Paying to sit and have a meal, you'd think that the place would offer its own clean facilities. Poor form in my book. On balance, I wouldn't say this place is a "must see". But if you need a quick bite and you're already in Pac Place, it's not a bad option. HH menu offers a good selection and prices are nice.

It's a bar that has a decent selection of beers that are brewed on-site - this is the best aspect of this place. The food is sub-par - standard fried fare. I requested a medium-cooked burger - it came out like a hockey puck, burned to a crisp on the outside - I suspect it was deep-fried to save time. My fiancé had the caesar salad - distinctly average and not worth the price. Although we left feeling somewhat bloated and nauseous, the service was great - otherwise this place would be a one star.

We like to go here when we need to have a nice sit down meal in the downtown area. The food is usual pretty good and the service is as well. We went the other night and I noticed that they had added an Artisanal Grilled Cheese to their menu. It's blurb read : "The perfect dish when childhood cravings meet adult appetites. We use a young gruyère cheese, known for its creamy flavor and nutty finish, and add smokehouse bacon and avocado mayo and grill it between two hearty pieces of sourdough bread. " The waiter said it was very good so I tried it. Once again, I have to say that these places trying to upscale the grilled cheese sandwich are missing the essential "grilled" part of the formula. It was definitely not what I was hoping for. I continue my search.

Where do I even start? This is one of the dirtiest restaurants I have ever been in. From the food being pushed to the inner most part of under the booth tables to the lights needing a dusting to the mustard bottle being all crusty and unknowns. Looking at this restaurant, it looks to be pretty clean on the outside/patio in the mall, but once you get inside you start to get a weird feeling.... So then while I am eating I start looking around and the more I do, the grosser it gets and the more I feel awful about even eating here. I had ordered the GCBLT and I admit, I customized it.... It was horrible. The bread was toasted and then buttered! Way too much grease on one sandwich. The sandwich had two slabs of bread toasted and over buttered and then had dry chicken and extremely greasy bacon. I mean I love some bacon but this was just cringe worthy greasy. My sprite glass had came with weird particles in it, I ignored it and just pushed it aside because I hated even asking the waiter for assistance. The waiter, Jake (I believe), was a little pushy and too comfortable. He was just strange. Not sure what was going on in his head, but every time I looked around I saw him just standing and leaning or I had seen him in the group of employees over by the beer bottle artwork (the one thats oddly enough missing the top left bottle). By the time of the end of the meal, half of my sandwich was completely untouched, most of my garlic fries untouched and the other half of my sandwich was picked at... Jake I want to say was the waiters name and he completely noticed and was like was it okay, can I get you anything else, he at least attempted to make it right and he did. He removed it from the bill. I wanted to make sure that the waiter wasn't made out to be the bad guy in this, I am just trying to explain everything, including what he did. I just felt the need to share my experience because of the fact that I have the worst knot in my stomach and I am unsure of what is going on in there. Could be just gas and need to poop, but it could be a bug or I could have picked something up at the restaurant. Well if you're eating here, I'd suggest being careful.

Okay, not my typical review of chain spots, BUT, a review is deserved. I went here after arriving in Westlake from openning day of the light rail for a late lunch. I ordered the seared ahi tuna with veggies "hold the rice please, but more veggies" =D I loved, LOVED, LOVED my dish. Portions were rather large, but it matched the price. My tuna was PERFECTION with wasabi aioli drizzled around the plate! Its what I needed on a hot day and kept my energy up. It was bit loud, but I also chose to sit in the bar. I will be back again for my seared tuna!

We've been multiple times. We've sat at the bar, in the lounge, and in the restaurant. If you sit at the bar you are well-taken care of by the bartender. If you eat in the restaurant, service is prompt and friendly, and the food is fine. The problem is the lounge. We started in the lounge this afternoon for HH. The waitress was horrible - inattentive and unfriendly. Disappeared for long periods of time. Spent a long time chatting with the bartender and the manager. No one wears a name tag, and she didn't bother to introduce herself. She appeared miffed when we finally went up to the bar to order our own drinks - how long were we supposed to wait for her? She bumped into chairs. She made no eye contact. She interrupted my wife. Our waiter made up for what she was lacking, genuinely friendly and professional, so the evening ended on a fine note. Unfortunately he is leaving GB in a couple weeks. Even if the lounge doesn't appear crowded - and it didn't appear crowded tonight, a Monday, and MLK Holiday - I would avoid it. It's hit or miss - usually miss. GB is convenient if you are attending the movie theater or shopping. Otherwise, I wouldn't consider it a destination. If the lounge wasn't so awful today, I'd give GB 3 stars.

Oh, just another chain restaurant that has beer and serves American fare. Nothing special in my book, but they do have one pretty good happy hour menu. Located on the top floor of the Pacific Place mall, it can be a challenge to take all of the escalators up to the top floor, so be lazy and just go take the elevators in the NE corner of the mall. The decor is nice and simple, little on the darker/semi-romantic side at night. Service is ok and the wait staff know their menus. They could use a little work when it comes to the wine list, although if you think about it, you are going there for the beer anyway.... Food is decent and definitely be sure to order the garlic fries. Although you might want to skip that if you are on a date...can't have that garlic breath can we? Burgers are your usual burgers and the pastas are your usual pastas. The menu will likely satisfy your party but won't make you say "I have to come back here." The one big plus for this place is they have fresh mint! Yes, that's right fresh mint! You know what that means right? MOJITO'S! They definitely make a good one here and the fresh mint makes it even better!

Gordon Biersch is the only place that my boyfriend and I eat in Pacific Place. I love their salmon dishes: barbequed salmon and cedar plank pecan crusted salmon. Now, my go to dish is their veggie pizza. They put fresh spinach on top with some olive oil/vinaigrette on top. YUM :9 One night, my boyfriend and I went there for dinner before the movie. We told our waiter that our movie was starting in 45 mins and they actually rushed our order for us :) Their salmon dishes are a little pricey for me, but I think they are worth the money.

We visited this place last Saturday night, they weren't busy at all. The waiter was nice and provided good service. My main complaint was the women that was sitting behind me continuously coughed, while turning her head in my direction and barely covering her mouth, I was really disgusted, but thankfully they left shortly after we arrived. We ordered their Southwest style egg rolls for an appetizer, they were tasty, but extremely greasy. I ordered the Parmesan encrusted Chicken from their seasonal menu, it came with sauteed Spinach and was actually pretty good and they give you a huge portion. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but might go again before catching a movie.

I ordered the Tuscan Chicken Pasta. I stole some fries from my boyfriends dish. The garlic fries are soo good. I'd come here just for those. My pasta was alright. It wasn't good nor bad; it just didn't wow me. The prices are a bit steep in my opinion. The location is convenient if you're in the downtown area. It is located upstairs of Pacific Place.

Gordon Bierch over-charged for my rum and soda(s). So what if it's Cruzan Coconut and 7-up. It just sounds fancier. Cruzan is cheaper than Goslings even in the freaking liquor store. It should be the same price as the traditional drink. Overall, I've been to a few Gordon Bierch Brewing Co locations. This one is not my favorite, but they have great food on the menu. And it's in the mall on top of it all.... next to the movie theater. So convenience is a good thing.

The Pacific Place location of Gordon Biersch is my favorite. I've been to locations all over the country, and the service here is just a notch better. We'll go grab dinner here after shopping with the kids, and then go see a movie right next door. Food and atmosphere is good, which is standard for all GB locations.

I've been to a few different Gordon Biersch breweries around the US and if you've been to one - you've been to them all. It's not a bad place to eat but my experience at the one here in Seattle left me a little disappointed. I'm not usually one to complain about the food DURING the meal. I know, so this is maybe my own fault. It's a combination of not wanting to wait longer for food and not wanting someone to spit in it I guess. I ordered a ravioli dish. As I ate one of the raviolis I noticed that the bottom of it (the side I didn't see when it was served to me) was BLACK, tough and totally burnt. GROSS! I hoped it was just the first bite but I flipped over the raviolis and realized that whoever cooked my food totally dropped the ball and burned everything. I am assuming they plated it anyway because my date's food was ready and instead of making more they thought they'd play me for a fool. I kind of picked at the meal and didn't complain because it made me lose my appetite. Granted - I shouldn't have paid for a meal in that condition but I was in a really ambivalent mood. Plus I figured I'd yelp about it later. ZING! I don't think I care to go back after that lackluster experience. The service was blah and the food (had it not been burned) was probably just blah too. I have heard though that if you get the beer sampler and say you've never been to a Gordon Biersch Brewery before - it's free! I've done that in CA at two different locations in CA. So maybe it's worth it for the beer but the food was a total miss.

I've been to GB 3 times to "give it another chance" and let me tell you 3rd time is not a charm! So let me start off by saying I love their homemade chips, their Kobe burger sliders, their Cobb salad, basically I really enjoy their food but the service SUCKS! This last time I went with my boyfriend and we were seated right away and we decided to time how long it took for someone to take our drink order. 11 minutes. 11minutes for our waiter to come over and tell us that WE shouldn't be seated in his section because he was just sat a large party but he would help us anyway. (not my problem your staff can't seat correctly.) We ordered 2 waters, an Iced tea and a Beer Sampler. Water was no problem, but we didn't get our other drinks until our meals came. The waiter in between getting our water and bringing our food didn't bother to come by at all. We got our food and our drinks, food was delish like always! I never saw our waiter again until i had to stop another waiter to refill our waters and my iced tea. Seriously? So we checked out and got our bill and that was that. First don't tell customers that they shouldn't have been seated in your sections and then never apologize for being 11 minutes late. It's not my problem that you are understaffed either. Needless to say we're not going back.

I have been here a couple times when downtown on a saturday night either seeing a movie, or shopping, and realizing at 7 that you are hungry. And everywhere else has like a 2 hour wait. Well, Gordon Biersch doesn't. Obviously, that means something. But, the food isn't bad, so in a pinch like that I will eat here. The food is fine, and the beer is good. I just don't think its memorable, and I have always found the service super slow in the Bar. I have never eaten in the dining room though. It's been awhile since I have been here, probably because I know to not end up downtown hungry with no dinner plans at 7 on a Saturday. I would maybe go back here for a beer or two, but that's about it.

My wife & I have been here several times over the years. Nice atmosphere, food quality is over priced and only a 3 star rating. I like the Marzen beere. 14 of had a family dinner here last nite. I had the Ceasar salad w/ salmon. The salad was marginal at best. The salmon was sliver maybe less than 1/8th of a pound. The lettuce was all chopped up intp little tiny pieces. Looked like something you would buy at Denny's at 60% of the cost. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which was flavorful and rich but had s very small dolop of coleslaw. This place is probably a better lunch spot than dinner.

The first time I went to this place was a week or so ago. My friend had just broken up with her boyfriend of 7 years and me, her and our other friend were going out to celebrate/support her new freedom. We were getting into some intense convo and our waitress politely asked what we were discussing. We told her and she offered some really awesome advice and kind words that you would normally hear from a best friend. I know some people may think of this as an invasion of privacy, but that a stranger would care enough to give you kind words, and they dont know you, that is rare to find. I wish I remembered her name, but I know i will go back just because of her. Ps, the food was flippin great too (i had a burger and my friends had the flank steak, yum)

The service was Alright. The food was the bad part. I came back time after time only to be disappointed each time. This place isn't good and it came to 90$! For 3 dishes, 3 drinks and appetizer. If your in pacific place, go to Johnny Rockets or Mexico City.

The service was fine, and the location is OK. But my tuna salad was really disgusting. Almost too salty to eat, and so overdressed that the lettuce was literally sopping with dressing. It was so bad that I wanted to send it back, but I was eating with some new colleagues that I'd just met and we were in a hurry. I wish I had, because it made me feel quite sick afterwards. Cannot recommend at all.

I live in Belltown and only come here for convenience when running errands/shopping in the mall. It is much better than average mall food (i.e. food court) but I think you kind of have to give a little considering it is in a mall and you can't expect much. I find the food to be over-priced for the quality, and I find the cocktails to be unexceptionally expensive, but it's probably because of the cost of renting the space. It would be nice if their lunch prices were cheaper than dinner prices instead of having the same menu. I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Their pizzas are HUGE and definitely enough to feed 2-3 people (depending on your appetite). I'm a huge fan of their salads as well, even the cashew chicken one is surprisingly good. This place also has a large variety of foods, from different stir fries to pizzas to many sandwiches and burgers.

We went during happy hour.. I ordered off the happy hour list (rosemary chicken flatbread)... my bf ordered the cedar plank salmon. The rosemary chicken flatbread was pretty tasty and a good portion. His salmon was... eh... they used this glazed pecan as the topping which tasted like a dessert... the two did not go well at all. There was tons of seating... it was my first time here and I liked it. I'd definitely go back for happy hour.

Was there for dinner for a quick trip to Seattle. I have always avoided this chain but was hungry and this was convenient. This is fine if you need a meal while traveling but pick someplace else if you want to really enjoy a meal. Reminds me of a cross between TGIF and Microbrew joint. ehhhhhh edible but not memorable.

We stopped in after shopping around downtown and thought we'd have dessert. Was surprised with such an 'extensive' menu that they only offered an uninteresting handful of desserts. We opted for the brownie sunday. She said it was big enough to share. Well...not exactly. The dessert was presented with the smallest scoop of vanilla icecream on top and a ziggyzag swirl of tasteless carmel and hot fudge syrups. The brownie was small and not very decadent. All in all a waste of a chocolate fix and money.

Gordon Biersch is a fun, spacious, casual spot to grab some food or some beer. They have a good menu, some decent brews, and nice staff. I have learned to just stick to their beer because their liquor based beverages are a bit pricey and not very stiff. The food is good, I've had to deal with some slow service before, but it's all good if there are drinks on the table to hold you over. I do like their garlic fries (however, they aren't garlicey enough) and humus plate..so check those out if they are something that sparks your tastes buds interest. The place is really spacious, so if you have an event you want to throw, they can accommodate it in the back since there is a private room. Overall, the restaurant is just ok.

Note: Party of 2 at Happy Hour in the Bar This was my fourth visit to Gordon Biersch and I can say hands down it was my favorite. My girlfriend and I were greeted immediately at the door and seated by the friendly waitpersons. We were asked about drinks and appetizers but not rushed. Drinks arrived quickly (1 mixed well drink and 1 of their beers). On that note...when I asked about the beer I was brought out (free) samples of 2 of the brews that she thought might fit the bill. One of their Appetizer Tapas plates was delivered first and it was substantial and delicious. It could've searched to stave off hunger for a few hours but we wanted to have dinner so we ordered 2 of the slider combo plates. Be warned...One of the Slider Combo Plates is easily enough to satisfy two hungry people (or a reasonably sized walrus). Two of these plates could choke a water buffalo. As for the Sliders themselves...I preferred the taste of the Pork to the Ground Beef (I am having a real problem with finding a good tasting burger slider). They weren't bad by any measure...just not as flavorful as I would've liked (would definitely pair with a bold sauce to dress em up). Our server was absolutely delightful, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed when we needed it. Just wish we got her name (she had a Caribbean accent).

They messed up my dads order completely, then ran out of my mashed potatoes for my meal... Then the waiter came back and said that they would be out in 5 minutes... Finished the meal and never got the mashed potatoes... Then my server insisted that my dessert was on him. I ordered the cheesecake and then he came back to tell me they were out of that too. Overall very frustrating and our server was very in attentive... There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant too... Don't even bother.

This is a pretty good restaraunt at the top of Pacific Place. It's a slightly upscale brewery/grill. The pizzas are good, the burgers are good and its location is very convenient. One time they gave us the nutritional menu with the real menu and I really wish I had never seen it. I knew it was bad for me, but I didn't need the proof.

Stepped into Gordon last night for a quick bite and a drink before a show at the paramount. Everywhere in the area was slammed but they quoted us 5-15 and we had a table in less than 5. The service was outstanding! When I kindly mentioned we were trying to make a show the manager personally put a rush on our order and we were paid and out the door in under 30. The ahi tacos and artichoke dip were both very good and with 2 beers our bill was very reasonable. I had eaten here once before and also remember a positive experience. Very pleased and will come straight here next time I need a spot near pacific place.

Went there before a movie with my brother on Christmas Eve. The bar had just emptied out so only a handful of tables were full. Our server was walking around in circles and took ten minutes just to drop menus off. He then took another ten minutes to take our order. I ordered a burger and not only was it pre-made which I hate, I took one bite and the whole patty fell apart and I had to eat it with a fork. $14 waste of a burger. Boo!

Great beer, delicious food, friendly service. We had a lovely view since we were at a table next to a window. We enjoyed their beers and food very much. My boyfriend ate their Kobe cheeseburger and I ate the fish and chips. Chips = fries, but they were garlic fries- yum!

PROTIP: If you're not ravenously hungry, want smaller portions, or are on a budget, create your meal using the "Sides" menu. I had a cup of the beer and cheddar soup, a side of sauteed mushrooms (Staggeringly generous portion), and a side of grilled asparagus for under $10. My friend had the Hefewiezen and didn't enjoy it, I tasted it and was indifferent. I've definitely had better but it wasn't the worst beer I've ever tasted. Our server Elizabeth was friendly, patient, funny, and honest when asked for her recommendation on the soup versus the lobster bisque. This was definitely a 3-star experience buoyed by finding a deal and a great server, so kudos to Gordon Biersch.

I think this place is a lot like the Cheesecake Factory in terms of huge portions and overwhelming number of choices. And, like CF, it's very standard yet consistently satisfying. I've come here for burgers and beers and for pizza and pasta. The burgers are really big, but juicy and easy to eat. The barbecue chicken pizza is pretty good, probably on the same level as CPK's. Jambalaya pasta is really tasty, very spicy with a lot of andouille sausage, shrimp, and chicken. My companion remarked that the orzo pasta is better than rice in the jambalaya because it holds its integrity well. I like their $2 dessert shooters as well, which allows you just the perfect amount of sweetness after a very large meal. Service is decent. I have never had trouble finding my waiter to refill my iced tea. Food comes out quickly. All in all, a decent place for dinner.

We came here after a movie, and only the bar was open, but they were very friendly and eager to serve us. The Happy Hour menu was the only thing available at that time, but I was beyond impressed by the diversity of food. I ordered a chicken and basil flat bread appetizer and a Firefly Tea. The flatbread was perfect - and the toppings were absolute heaven. My friend ordered the Crab and Artichoke dip -- wow, it was incredible. The service was excellent, and the waitress was very friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming, and I would definitely return...

Carrot Cake served in a shot glass?? How about a shot of peanut butter chocolate pie?? The folks at Gordon Biersch have figured out the science of dessert. Not too big, but not too small. Trust me, you'll want to order a round. Gordon Biersch is a chain, so you get the service and atmosphere that normally accompanies chain restaurants. I ordered half a turkey sandwich and a cup of a soup and thought it was A-Ok. The portions are healthy, so that order was more than enough. If you're catching a movie at Pacific Place or out doing some shopping, this is a good place to stop and grab a bite and recharge.

I am still on the hunt for my new lunch spot . So i came to get it a try , first of all the hostess was charm gave me plenty of choices on where to seat . I seat in the dining area , the place a great view of the city with large windows to look on . My waiter was nice I had three menus to order from , I order a coke and Kobe beef burger with house made herb cheese and garlic fries . I enjoyed both the burger and garlic fries , vampires beware . Sadly my waiter never returned to ask how many meal was and for their prices that they charge someone should have asked me . After I finished my meal he did ask if wanted dessert , I gave in and ordered a mini apple bread pudding that was very very yummy . I would come back .

It's sort of funny reading some of the reviews for Gordon Biersch. It seems that most of their clientele must be movie-goers looking for a pre-screening meal. I think they should have buzzers that let you know when your movie is about to start. Or better yet, have a ticket window in the restaurant itself. As you'd expect from that lead-in, a friend and I swung by before catching a flick at Pacific Place. It's horribly convenient for the movie-going audience; just a few paces down from the theater on the same mall level. You have to make the trade-off of ambience for convenience in this setting. It feels like you're sitting in an airport bar waiting for your flight (or in this case, the movie next door). But. The seats aren't bad with plenty of spacing between tables so that you're not scrunched in next to the other patrons. TVs are abundant and strategically placed throughout the room for easy viewing pleasure (the World Cup, in this case). Service was pretty quick and gave a reasonable introduction to the menu. For the appetizer, and by that I mean beer, I went with the Schwarzbier: it's a decent enough darker beer that has a pretty smooth aftertaste. A reasonable choice for fans of Porters and the like. There was a special for a honey dijon chicken sandwich and gave that a try. Nothing bad, but it was your basic grilled chicken with a half-melted slice of cheese that looked like a Kraft Single on the top. I did rather like the dijon sauce and the garlic fries are a nice touch. Overall, a decent enough place. It doesn't qualify as exotic dining to treat that special someone ("Oh honey, Gordon Biersch! You shouldn't have."), but it's certainly a dining option upgrade from the Cinnabon stands and Panda Express.

I have some of the coolest friends. Really. They are super awesome cool. Sometimes, they just don't wanna get wet. After a mandatory meeting at work (translation: severe group chastising), a couple of us decided that cocktails were in order. The one of us least likely to wander around in the rain suggested Gordon Biersch. "But, I don't even LIKE beer." "Shut up. They have a bar." And, so, off to the mall we went. The Lemon Drop and Appletini were pretty good. The calamari was really just fried rubber bands. The steak (New York Strip) was unseasoned and a little gristly. The potato type side dish was almost inedible. Our waiter was really nice. He had a perma smile. He was young and fresh faced. I would like to meet him again in ten years just to take in the result of time on unmitigated joy. But, I digress... Decent place to wait for a movie to start, I guess.

I had the Creole Chicken hubby had the mini brats. After a bite of his brats I wished I had ordered them. My chicken was dry and chewy the "spicy" jambalaya sauce did add enough moisture that I was able to swallow the chicken without choking but It was a pretty basic peppers, onion and tomato mixture. I was very hungry, so I ate about half the chicken and one bite of the plain WHITE rice, not jasmine, and maybe 3 small bites of the oily seasonal vegetables, I was done. Hubby did enjoy his beer that is why there are 2 stars. I do not see a return trip in my future. Service was OK.

I used to go to this restaurant every weekend with my friends and family. And let me say the service... not so great! We decided that we would never go there again! Until we met the best waitress we've ever had! As a family we love trying new things and always getting together on a weekly basis! Since we were in the area last week we thought.. Hey it's been a while let's go and have lunch at Gordon! Let me say whoever hired Elise did the right thing! She made sure we were happy the entire time, checked up on us constantly, made us laugh, and took care of us like we were her family! Really made us feel like we were at home having lunch! I would have given this place a 1 star but just because of Elise I want to make sure she gets the Kudos for being such an amazing waitress! Thank you ! Thank you!

Wow. The most unpleasant dining experience I have had in months. Our server forgot the bread we requested and drinks were not refilled throughout the meal. We had 4 people eating and two got their meals first, then the next 2 people waited a good 5+ minutes for their food. The burgers that were requested as medium rare were actually well done. Two of the orders were messed up and missing part of the food. The bill was asked to be split in 3 equal parts and somehow each person's bill was not equal (off by about $4 each). Our server was nice enough, but just not 100% with it to be a good server. Will I come back? Doubt it!

The lunch specials are affordable, taste great and plenty on your plate. The staff also does a great job of being quick and friendly.

I went with my boyfriend this Friday - we were greeted immediately and since we were going to eat in the bar, we found our own table. Our waitress came to our table almost immediately to take our order. We weren't ready yet, so she gave us more time while running to get us some water. She was very attentive and never left us waiting long for anything. She was friendly and liked to talk with us (without being overbearing or giddy), and she had a great accent. I wish we got her name, she was fantastic! We were there during happy hour - we ordered the tapas appetizer, a beer and I got a cocktail drink. My drink tasted really good, but wasn't very strong. I will stick with beer from now on when I'm there. I keep forgetting that happy hour cocktails are generally not as strong as their full priced counterparts. :) Gordon Biersch has an amazing tapas plate. They don't skimp on anything. Plenty of bread, hummus, tapenade and GARLIC. I'm a sucker for a good hummus and olive plate - so if a place has a good one, I'm sold. After appetizers, we both ordered our own slider plate. Six sliders with garlic fries after a hummus plate was just too much food! Our bad. Three sliders were BBQ pork and the other three were kobe beef. The pork silders were very good, but the kobe beef burgers were rather bland. The garlic fries were good - I would prefer them to be a little more garlicky, but honestly the amount on them was just fine for a date night. :) My ideal visit would be going there for happy hour, ordering the tapas (which can easily be a meal) and a beer. Next time I will do just that.

I was shopping around downtown, and ended up in Pacific Place. It seemed like everywhere there was a line waiting to be seated, but my friends opted to try this place out. (Caution...don't eat out for dinner at a restaurant downtown during xmas season!) Our wait was over 30 mins, but once we got seated, our waiter came right away, and greeted us with a smile. He was friendly, welcoming, and always came by to check up on us, so that was great, especially since it was chaotic during that time. Food wise however, not so great. It's decent, but that is about it. Overpriced, and isn't anything too special. I got the hummus chicken salad, and it was ok. I kinda got sick of eating it after 6 bites. Since it was mostly chicken, pita bread, and the hummus. It was huge (I didn't expect it to look the way it did, and thought it to be more of a salad type) and my friend out the special steak. It came with a side of mashed potatoes, and asparagus. (Check out my pics) Overall, it reminded me a lot like the BJ's Restaurant. (Similar menu). I tried some mashed potatoes, and it was delicious! Soft, moist, just the way I like it. However, Gordon Biersch does specialize in offering lots of variety of drinks, and beer. I did get a cocktail, and it was tasty and fruity. Points for that! After 3 entrees, 3 drinks, and 2 beers, our bill totaled over $120....unfortunately most likely not returning for food. It was nothing too special or exceptional, that you had to try. The entrees were pricey enough. Drinks however, would be an exception.

a good selection on their menu - however nothing really stands out. most dishes are mediocre and the prices aren't expensive but far from cheap. they used to have a great happy hour menu - but recently revamped it taking most things off the HH menu. i will give them this - the garlic fries are always on point! best place to get garlic fries outside of safeco field.

Gordon Biersch is all around OK. Not something I really look forward to, but am sometimes glad is there when I'm downtown and need to eat. It's a really, really big restaurant with little to no ambiance. Sometimes there's a wait during peak hours. The service varies, which is to be expected from a huge restaurant in a mall (Pacific Place). I've had some servers that were just fine, but years ago my boyfriend and I were waited on by a guy who was really off. The whole night was kinda bizarre. Then this summer I met a friend for lunch and her server kept ignoring her while schmoozing with the tables behind us. I've had some meals that were good, others that were just OK. Nothing is ever amazing; except my boyfriend had a pecan crusted chicken dish once back in the day that he thought was fantastic. An average entree is $10 - $15. The famous garlic fries can be really good, but sometimes are way too garlicky and soggy to the point of being just plain gross. I've never been that impressed with the beer, which seems to be the general consensus in other reviews. I feel like Gordon Biersch does the brewery thing to be cool and unique, not because they care about craft beers. Several reviews mention the weird banana flavor -- which is something that can be avoided if you know what you're doing. I had a Golden Export ($4 during happy hour) recently and it pretty much tasted like MGD. I did happy hour while killing time one evening back in Dec. I went with the Tapas plate. The flatbread was really good (though not enough so I was glad the friendly waitress asked if I wanted more), the hummus was OK, the tapenade was too bitter, the bruschetta was delicious, and the garlic cloves were far too mild. Like the restaurant itself, it was just OK. However, I keep hearing about these fried artichoke hearts and if I ever come back for HH I definitely want to try those! HH is served in the bar from 4 - 6:30 M - F, and 10 - close every day. HH food is $4.95, and the bar offers $1 off their lagers, $2 off wine, and a selection of mixed drinks for $5. Though the food isn't all that, I think Gordon Biersch would be a good place to bring kids, a large group, or your unadventurous friends and relatives. Everything on the menu is basic and safe and you can get burgers, sandwiches, pasta, salads, pizza, fish, some vaguely Asian stuff, and more. Gordon Biersch offers a convenient location with tons of seating, some novelty for brewing their own beer (five types plus a seasonal [with accompanying seasonal menu items]), and that "patio" outside in the hall kinda cracks me up. This is a place to go when you need to, not when you want to.

I really like the location being on the top floor and being seated next to the window. I ordered the Farmhouse Burger with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. I thought the burger was very tasty, juicy and the fried egg added a nice touch as well. The garlic mashed potatoes were good as well. My guest ordered the Beer Battered Fish & Chips. I tried a piece of the fish and I thought it was made pretty well due to not over frying the panko crumbs it was coated with. I will definitely be back.

Raw chicken in the potstickers, and cold globs of cream cheese in the "hot" artichoke dip. Whoever was working in the kitchen yesterday simply didn't give a damn. Kinda felt sorry for the wait staff who had to front for these guys. At least the beer was good!

It's a nice place to go when at the mall. They have a lot of their own beers which is a nice touch. Their food is like a step above tavern food -- not bad. But they tend to go a little overboard with dressing and such. The service can be a little spotty because they often seem busy.

Boy was this place impressive! Tucked away in the Pacific Place mall is this delicious and huge brewery! A whole bunch of us went here for dinner before a show at the Paramount and we were all very satisfied with the experience. Having never been to Pacific Place before, the location was ideal for our night at the Paramount which was 2 blocks away. Our large group was seated right away by very friendly staff and then promptly greeted by our server who took VERY good care of us. I was especially thrilled that the server was willing to split the check 4 ways because most places, especially busy ones, won't do that for a larger group. Some people tried the beer and some of us tried their specialty cocktails but needless to say, they were all yummy. The menu was almost as big as a novel and was filled with all sorts of different foods to choose from. I went with the lobster and lump crab tacos while others chose items like pulled pork sandwich, crab cake sandwich, pizza, etc. I don't think I've ever had tastier fish tacos anywhere....ever! The best part about them is they were double decker! Flour tortilla outside of a blue hard taco shell all situated in a convenient little metal taco stand! Delicious! The view is amazing, the location rules and the food, service and ambiance is fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!

Considering the myriad problems that could beset a late night group of 12 or more deciding to go to a restaurant at the top of a closed mall, I should consider myself lucky. We happened in for happy hour and were pleasantly surprised. The beer selection was diverse, with more Germanic offerings that are not as prevalent as the IPAs and Porters of this region. Of course, by diverse I mean the types, not the brands as these are made in house(?). Brewing beer at the top of a mall. What a world we live in. That said, the seasonal selection, a golden bock was deace (which means that it was both decent and I was at peace with my decision; decent + peace = deace; now you know; I think Eugene wore off on me). The märzen was better. And, I was quite excited to see it on the menu since it's a style I enjoy but don't get to have that often. However, after a couple sips and a gentle nudge with my pinky finger, the glass exploded (did not tip over, exploded) and sent beer and shrapnel everywhere. Yet despite this disaster, I am impressed. The server staff was there with napkins to clean up and it took only a few minutes to get things sorted (except my very beer-y slacks, that is). They also brought me over a beer to replace the one that was now mingling with my knit fibers. Free of charge. Damage control that I can get behind. To sum up: huge group, late night, happy hour menu with limited but diverse food options, exploding pints, replaced pints and everybody leaves happy. A night well done at the top of a mall.

Happy Hour at Gordon Biersch earlier this week exceeded my expectations after the Pacific Place nightly holiday "snowfall" did exactly the opposite. Shaved ice misting past the doorways of Papyrus and J. Crew is simply not as magical as one might think. After the snowstorm letdown, we ambled up the escalators and plopped down at a table in Gordon Biersch's bar where we were quickly provided with water and set of menus. The $4.95 Happy Hour treats included the likes of southwestern egg rolls and garlic fries, but we opted for the fried artichokes and the rather cryptically named "Tapas" appetizer. The 'chokes were generously served and generally good though a little low on the crunch factor, and Tapas proved to be a pleasing quartet of spreads (hummus, olive tapenade, tomato bruschetta topping, and roasted garlic) with accompanying flatbread. Whereas the food was satisfactory but slightly forgettable, our server made a lasting postive impression. Just prior to the end of happy hour he went around to every single bar table to take last-call HH orders, which were delivered suprisingly quickly. Furthermore, although we ordered a round of drinks outside the happy hour time zone, he acknowledged that he gave us the discounted price anyway. And for that, he got a healthy tip. Happy server, happy customers who will come back again...a win-win for Mr. Biersch.

Meh, it is OK. The food is standard, and that menu is quite large. The beer flight is well worth taking, as they do a nice beer... but in a city like Seattle, there is so many better places to get beer. However, I will say in the Gordon Biersch favor, it is a nice place to chat with a friend.

This one is inside the mall. Great place to have lunch and a brew. I tried the salmon and it was done just the way I like it. You can sit outside on top of the building over looking downtown .. if it is not raining!

I actually had a pleasant experience here a few days ago. My friend was in town and we wanted to explore downtown Seattle a little bit... so we parked my monster truck in the garage for 4 hrs ($11) and came here to grab a quick bite. Service was terrific. The host had a great smile and our server checked up on us often. He also made a few great suggestions from their Caribbean menu (lasting only for the month of July I believe) The lobster, crab and shrimp salad was delish! It's cold, light, and perfect on a hot summer day! And it was seriously packed with seafood goodness! Price: $17. A bit pricey but it was good. My other friend however...ordered a sandwich/salad combo that looked very plain. Half of a sandwich served on a large plate (with no garnish whatsoever) and a side of caesar salad. Yawn.

the worst place i have ever gone to. seriously. i went here with my boyfriend on valentines day. we wanted to try something we never went to before. so.....no waitlist. the restaurant is half empty. the hostess are chit chatting to each other when we walk in. to the left is the bar area. that was filled up. walked to our table, it wasnt very comfortable or inviting. very dark, pretty medium loudness, we were farfrom the kitchen luckily. we were already in a good mood because me and my boyfriend make the best out of everything. our server came about like 7 mins later to greet and order drinks. he got the long island, i got a umm something similar but a little fruitier. btw horrible drinks. we dont drink beer so idk what to say about their beer drinks didnt get to our table til like 10-15 minutes later. server never gave us water.. ordered our food then, i ordered the grilled chilean sea bass, my bf ordered the surf n turf(valentines day special) steak and lobster. we also ordered crab n artichoke dip to start off with. okay then i check my phone so i know what time he put the food in. just because it was slow service already. about 6:01PM 10 minutes later he tells us theres no more dip, and asked if we wanted to select something else. we said no. and he told us, okay well ialready put the food in so the kitchen should be making it right now. (said something like that.) 10 minutes later *crickets*....says im going to check the status of your food .he never comes back to tell us the status...........nothing, he walks by, looks at us...we dont complain though because we're just happy to be together. then 2 minutes later brings us bread.....cold bread..... asks if we want another drink, we say no, the drink is like watered down and tasteless...waste of money...then 6:35 they FINALLY bring out the food, i believe the manager does, my bf gets his looks good, he sets mine down saying "miso chilean sea bass" i said um...i ordered the grilled chilean sea bass. he said oh im sorry, it will take another 10 minutes for your order to come out. i said ill wait because i dont want that. he took it okay, but seemed considerate and apologetic. but we didnt argue, never put up a fight or raised our voices. (like i said we were just in a happy loving mood to be together and were making the best out of the situation, we didnt want a bad valentines day) but his steak was super thin, (didnt expect that,) the lobster was a bit too salty but bearable, cooked perfectly. the greens beans were DELICIOUS yum... the steak was good just wish there was more chew to it, it was just really think...grr 10mins later like they said my food comes out, 6:46. =) so i was glad they didnt lie this time. my fish was actually pretty good, not overcooked, perfectly lightly seasoned and a little charred, the way i love it, i loved it. and i also had green beans as well. we didnt order dessert. the server said we most likely could get something free. but we still didnt want to dessert, were too full. the server offered to see what he could do to help with the bill because of the long service, brings the bill back and my dish was on the house. and we paid, the total was i think around $50, we tipped the guy $18ish. because he was still a nice dude. and the food wasnt bad, the service and attentiveness was bad. but overall, we enjoyed our time together, just not the LONG A$$ wait... but we plan to order togo next time....we will come back for the food. not the service. or the drinks.... =) (btw sorry for the typos)

Gordon Biersch is consistently good, and the menu provides exactly what it described and has a good balance of salads, burgers, tapas, and various entrees. We got an app sampler to taste a bit of everything. Always the best way to go! Ohhhhh, those garlic fries. They are like crack. In the good way, of course! Not having done crack, I can only imagine the good part would be like this. Addictively scrumptious and overwhelmingly infused with garlic that takes like no other garlic fries. Heavenly. Garlickly. Take the mints on the way out. You will need several. No, this is not something unique to Seattle or particularly fantastical, but - it is solid, and super convenient if you are in the area, and especially if you need a break from being in the hotel or convention center all day!

I have been coming to this GB pretty much since Pacific Place was opened. I have a ritual with a buddy of mine, we watch a movie on a week night at Pac Place cinema and grab dinner at GB. Service is always friendly and prompt. And if you have to try anything on their menu, it has to be the meatloaf...it has a slight smoky BBQ taste, julienne cut veggies and mashed potatoes...num, num. Fried calamari is one of the better ones as well. I also love their seasonal Oktoberfest menu.

I ordered their lunch special, a grilled mahi-mahi with "seasonal vegetables." The mahi-mahi was overcooked and dry. The seasonal vegetables were not seasonal -- they were green beans (why not asparagus?), and it wasn't vegetables, it was vegetable. How hard it would have been to add some carrots? Or some diced onion? And then I tasted the green beans. The oil they were sauteed in had gone RANCID. I asked my coworker for a second opinion, and he spit it out. Completely inexcusable and inedible. So I stayed hungry, and they removed it from the bill when asked. However the service was very slow, and I probably went 10-15 minutes at a time with no water in my glass.

Oh man. There are so many things not to love about Gordan Biersch that it's easy to overlook the three things that make them awesome. Here they are: 1. The service - I've never dealt with such a cheery, honest group of young women in my life. When I wasn't sure whether to get a salad (and be "good") or a steak, my server brought me the nutritional version of the menu. You know, the one with the calorie counts. WTF - the salads are all over 1,000 calories?! And so is practically everything else on the menu?! Whew! I'll take a steak, medium rare. Thanks for helping me dodge that bullet, ladies! 2. The booths / location - how many places can I go and sit, totally isolated, after a workout with my boyfriend? It's lovely to feel alone in the middle of downtown. 3. Dessert shots - please pass the memo along to every restaurant. Although pretty much everything else on the menu will kill you, these are fantastic! They are the right size, and they're all under 300 calories. Mmmmm. I had the triple chocolate. And It Was Darn Good.

Visiting from out of town. Was just walking through the mall, a burger with a strong drink ended up being just what I needed. I have been to much better places for a burger, (and much cheaper), but the reason why I give it 3 stars instead of 2 is because of the service. As soon as I sat down at the bar, the bartender asked me what I want to drink, and gave me a menu. Ordered, and he made sure my water was full and checked to see if my shot was good every few minutes. After the food came the bartender made sure I had everything I needed. There was no delay in service, wish more places were as attentive. So i give it three stars.

If you're going to a movie at Pacific Place, and you've got 45 minutes to feed your hungry Hapa Boy, you're not going to Le Pichet. (Sniff). Oh Time, you are the God of Movies, and with your wrath in mind, we ended up at Gordon Biersch, bringing the Meh since 1990. I saw no point to Gordon Biersch when I lived in California, and was forced to go to the Palo Alto Division constantly with a friend who had a yen for their garlic fries. [Meh]. But maybe Seattle is different! Nope, it's the same old same old. To wit: Damp salad, salty dressing, tasteless chicken, and the hardest, driest lump of bread since I last ate at my cousin Bonnie's house in 1980 - the one who never could work her bread machine. Slow service with that "How are YOU today?" enthusiasm that makes me recoil, and a full list of Nutritional Guidelines at the door serving to increase your awareness that the food you're about to eat will not only be mediocre but will certainly kill you. No, thank you Gordon Biersch. But on the plus side, "Up" was fabulous!

Had the cajun pasta and it was so much better than I expected considering this was a pub/bar and we mostly went to watch the World Cup. The strawberry lemonade was made with a puree instead of a syrup and was delicious! I'd definitely go back.

The long and short of it is- there's no reason to eat here unless you're planning a shopping marathon and can't be bothered to leave Pacific Place. The food is fine- dry mashed potatoes, garlic fries dripping with grease- but way overpriced and underportioned, and outrageously priced cocktails (if I'm going to pay $9 for a mojito, I'll go someplace with atmosphere and no tv's.) No dish is worth making the trip for or paying the extra money for, especially when you can walk a few blocks and get a much better deal, but I suppose this is to be expected this from a "pub" in a mall.

My friend is visiting from out of town and he was staying at the Sheraton downtown so I suggested we meet up for dinner at GB since it's close and he can just walk over. I've been there a few times before so I assured him our dinner would be filling and yummy. Wrong...and wrong. Their portions used to be really big so I suggested we split an app and an entree. We decided on the crab and artichoke dip and the ahi salad (I've had this salad before and it was SO good). Our server told us the kitchen would split our salad, which was really nice. Our food arrives and the entree? I think I got a slice of tuna in mine and my friend got 2 slices in his. We're talkin' 3 paper thin slices and just a few leaves of baby lettuce. Yep, for $14. I know the economy is bad, but come on! And the app? Mostly just sour cream, maybe 2 lumps of artichoke, and zero crab anywhere. I also ordered a pomegranate mojito but the cup was packed with ice from top to the very bottom so 3 sips and it was gone. Long story short. I was embarrassed to have suggested GB, and my friend suggested dessert...elsewhere. I'll never go back.

I've had two really good experiences here, one was on easter about 3 years ago where we went for brunch that was just awesome and then the most recent time I was there today was really good to in a different way. I sat down at a table at the bar with only 30 minutes to each lunch before I had to get my ass back to my car and drive to Kent. I sat down and by the time I busted out my lap top to sign on to the free wifi, our server is at our table taking our order. He's on it. We tell him we have 30 minutes to eat and need to be fast, we order and I swear two minutes later he is at our table with our food. Now granted we only had soup and salads, but even considering it was still freaking fast. 3 minutes later he drops the tab which was considerate because it allowed us to pay now and leave right when we were done eating. We pay immediate and finish our respective meals. Lobster Bisque and Cobb Salad for my associate, a wedge for me. I love the wedge here, the dunkels vinegarette is super good and light. Finish eating and took the elevator to my car. Awesome place and service for a lunch on the go!. I like it when my server is faster than I am. Few people my friends are as on it as I am when I am in business mode and this guy sensed my style and played me perfectly. Good show chap!

Went here for lunch today. That's not the point though...point is that I ate a meal there at some point in my life. Was so highly recommended to eat the korean bbq beef tacos special by the host. Was even advised by my co-workers to get them...evidence that they were tasty. The description said that they had sauce and asian coleslaw something or other. ALL they came with was beef, a bit of cheese, and lettuce. No slaw, no sauce. No flavor. I read the description, and can read, and am not stupid. They were not made properly, place wasn't busy. I am not impressed.

So the first time I came here, it was a short visit, and I really enjoyed it. The beers were tasty and cold, came in half liter glasses and service was good. We went back a few days ago after a short downtown shopping spree. It was happy hour, and it sounded great so I was excited. Our server greeted and seated us and we got our drinks. The $3 off cocktails is a really good deal. I got a strawberry margarita. It was too sweet but still kinda boozy. Our server kept asking us about food. I said I'd look at it and let her know. And then she vanished. And that's where things started going downhill. She was just gone. We sat there with empty glasses for a while hoping her (or whoever took over for her) would come over. Eventually we called one of the servers over. She said she had no idea where our server was. I asked for a pomegranate margarita. What I got tasted exactly like the strawberry one and it even looked like it had strawberry pieces in it. Then we were asked about food a few more times. We said no and then we were handed our check. Okaaay. Oh, and btw there was no "Sorry you were abandoned, we'll comp or discount your drinks" or anything like that. Instead our server once again said "I really have no idea where she went", visibly annoyed with her coworker's behavior. We paid and left. Driving out of the garage my bf spotted our server talking on her phone. He pointed at her and said "there she is". It was kinda funny. She looked distressed tho. She hid her face from us. We drove away. I hope that her loved ones are ok, and the phone call was nothing serious. In which case, she might be the worst server of all times.

The food here is pretty good, if unimaginative, but the selection of beer loses them a lot of points where I'm concerned. They only serve their own German-style beers, plus Bud Light and Coors Light. Some of their house brews are just fine, but none of them are really my thing. Having a few decent guest taps would help bring them up to par with local restaurants that aren't particularly beer-centric. The Kobe burgers are above average. There is a lot of variety on the menu, which might make it a good choice for groups. All-in-all, a decent enough place to get fed before a movie, but not really a dinner destination on its own merits.

Here's the deal. Come here and order real food and you wont be disappointed. Don't order the god damned pizza. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? who goes to Gordon Biersch and expects good pizza? DO try the fried artichoke hearts they are to die for. In my opinion they have enough really good stuff on the menu so its ok if some things aren't great. Its kind of hit or miss but mostly hit. Dont get things you can get better somewhere else (calamari, Pizza, etc etc). Go to Gordon Biersch for the Steak, the fish and the Beer and you wont be disappointed. I highly suggest the beer sampler (their hefewizen has a slight hint of banana but it works), and if you have a chance to sample the Oktoberfest menu i highly suggest you do.mmm short ribs and braised cabbage.

Ive eaten at the Seattle location 4 times, two were amazing, two were not as well. Food was perfect and exactly what I ordered. The other two times the steak was overcooked and kind of a sub par cut of meat. They made up for it on the bill though so I really appreciated that.

We were told that for a group of 7 we would have a 20-30 minute wait...no problem right? Must be busy...WRONG! After someone in our party asking after 45 minutes if a table would open up soon, we were led through an almost EMPTY restaurant. We counted 8 empty and open tables just on our side of the restaurant. The service was slow and ok and the food came out cold. Cold burgers? Really? I doubt I will go to this place again.

Gordon Biersch wasn't a bad place to have the last dinner for PAX. My friends and I enjoyed the food and service. Pricing was a bit high but there was no complaints about food or drink quality so I would think that's OK. It was located at the top of a mall so the location wasn't particularly great but an escalator never hurt anyone. We were seated with no waiting as the restaurant is huge. Next time I'll be sure to have a beer.

We held a tweetup (casual meet-up of Twitterers) here at 6pm on a week night, and eventually took over 3 tables on the "patio." There were ~20 people, coming from all over King and Pierce county. Gordon Biersch was chosen for its easy and cheaper parking at Pacific Place, and decent happy hour food menu. Our waitress obviously had never witnessed a tweetup in action. She was confused and frustrated at first. Everyone in our group was fun and laid back, so she became more relaxed when she realized we were all civilized people. The beer selection is, of course, very small, compared to the Tap House, but the happy hour food made up for it. The garlic fries smelled great. Crispy fried artichoke hearts were a welcome change (from run-of-the-mill HH appetizers) and quite tasty. The attendees make the tweetup, but having good service and decent food & drinks definitely helps.

One word review of this restaurant: Meh. Two word review of this restaurant: Umm... meh. But seriously, this place is like a Cheesecake Factory, without the good desserts. It's big, has a huge corporate feel to it, and for the most part, the food is just mediocre.

My sister, niece and I decided to have dinner at GBB on 2/25/13 before going to a movie. I ordered a glass of wine and when served, it had lipstick on it. Sent it back, next glass had lip prints on it. My niece pointed out the water glass had lip prints on it as well. The manager said he told the crew to "change the water more often"!!! ewwww .. no dishwasher? I decided to file a complaint with the Health Dept. On their site I saw where GBB got an "unsatisfactory" rating in Dec. 2012 for the same infractions they were called on in March 2012. (fascinating what you can find out on the health dept. site). I will never go back there again. 3 dirty glasses in the first 15 minutes of our visit was totally unacceptable. If you do decide to go, check the health dept. website first!

Very good all around American cuisine for a restaurant with it's own brewery. The garlic fries were the highlight of the meal, not too salty and with just the right amount of spices. The burger was good, however the food temperature could have been warmer. The meal was just barely warm.

I do not like this restaurant. I have been here twice in my whole life. I was THOROUGHLY unimpressed both times. It is a chain. Gordon Biersch is German the way olive garden is Italian or Taco bell is Mexican. It's a middle-class suburban couple's escape on a saturday night when they have a two hour baby-sitter window. Nothing could redeem this meal. Note even when presented with the opportunity to threaten a small child for turning around in the booth to stare at me while I ate my dinner. There is literally NO creativity to this place. Avoid it at all costs. Or, don't... if you're inclined to eat at a mall while on a vacation to Seattle, you'll probably love it.

My friend and I went here to grab a drink last night before going to watch 'The Fighter.' And got ripped off. I orderd a beer, which was just fine. My friend ordered a scotch neat, and he was given about 1/2 of a shot. But I was charged the full 8.50. When he saw the drink after it had been delivered to our table he went immediately up to the bar and asked for a shot glass. He was given a double shot glass and so what he poured from the glass into the shot glass should have went up about half way. It BARELY went 1/4 of the way. It was one of the most chincy shots I have seen in a very long time. He then brought it to our servers attention and she stood behind her bartenders pour, but she was wrong. So, my friend went up to the bar, ordered another scotch neat, this time, in a shot glass. Low and behold - it was poured right to the 1/2 mark on the shot glass. He showed this to our server and she just kind of smiled and meandered off. It wasn't her fault, but, that first drink was RIDICULOUS and a rip. The bartender must have had to make up for some free drinks he gave to some cute chicks earlier in the night I guess.

Awesome service and great appetizers!!!! I would highly recommend the garlic fries and crab egg rolls. I also had a pasta with chicken that was 20% pasta/80%chicken. It was tasty but what the heck? Its called pasta with chicken, not the other way around!

As Dallas says: "Pretty sure everyone here hates their job". So, Dallas and I began our exercise in how people should NOT be treated at a restaurant with a perfectly surly greeting from a disgruntled hostess who subsequently gave our table away because she said "we didn't get there fast enough", even though we walked the whole 15 feet as soon as our buzzer thing started to vibrate. After a bonus round of her bitchy and foul attitude, we decided to sit in the bar area instead of riding this pleasure boat any further. Our waitress came over pretty quick when we sat down but after ordering our beers we waited 30 minutes to take our first sips (we sat about 3 feet from the bar). We then proceeded to wait another 30 minutes for our food after ordering it. Kobe beef burgers were mediocre at best (dry and overcooked), Dallas said her salad was okay. Would you like to know how her lobster bisque was? So would we. It never came. When we asked about it, they said they would "look for some" and never returned. Of course, the lobster bisque was on the check. Removing that and getting the hell out of there took another 20 minutes. Absolutely avoid this turd barn. Run of the mill bar food with insanely bad and rude service. A true shit show of a restaurant. I strongly suspect most 4 star reviews of this place are written by Gordon Biersch Brewing Co employees or by people that consider Taco Bell drive-thru "going out to dinner".

Seating within a split second when needing a meal before a movie. Placed ourselves in the bar in a fun tall bistro table. Our server was nice and took our orders quickly. My burger was huge and a preformed patty with "grill" marks. The bun was good and kaiser style. The burger came with cheddar, tomato, onion, and lettuce. The burger was really juicy and perfectly medium. Props for cooking it correctly. The fries that came with the meal were peppered with garlic and parsley. I LOVE garlic but they could not save the typical not great fries- I didn't eat half of them. Goof burger- quick service- convenient location- OK prices- and good beer. I was bummed there was no seasonal beer or beer sampler advertised, but the one our server suggested was good. She disappeared for the second half of the meal which made it hard to get our bill but we made our movie so it wasn't the end of the world.

Ate there last night. Was told the wait would be 10 to 20 minutes, Waited 40 and finally seated...(stupid me for waiting....I know)...walked into a dining room that had about 10 tables of customers and a good 30 empty. The manager said they were short of staff.........what a way to run a business. Get some management that know what the hell they are doing! Food was ok but I won't be back!!!

It is what it is. The food is meh, the beer is meh, the atmosphere, meh...but it's close to the theater and they have happy hour. I guess people who like these kinds of commercially places might think it's awesome. Just not for me. I can warm up my own Trader Joe's frozen appetizers in the comfort of my home thank you very much.

We understood with the holiday shopping it would be busy. We were excited that our table was ready exactly at our reservation time. Staff was super friendly but things went downhill from there. Appetizer showed up before we had waters, drink order, or silverware. We noticed drinks were at the bar waiting to be delivered for over 10 minutes. Steaks showed up cold and crab stuffed sole was just mediocre. We asked for second round of drinks when entrees came out. Instead they came out at end of meal. No one asked how food was. Waters were never refilled. Overall, huge disappointment! I would have rather paid a little more to go someplace like Jaks steakhouse.

Now you shouldn't jump to conclusions. Consider...if you like to argue with the wait staff when you claim something is not right (IE the wine tastes vinegary) and you like the extra protein a fly adds to your second wine to replace the first, then you might love Gordan Biersch. Add to that your salad not only doesn't deliver but tastes...uh..awful. I do like their beer but out of principal I wont be back.

My co-worker and I ran down here in a mad rush trying to grab a bite to eat during our lunch hour. I had the santa fe chicken sandwich with garlic fries and she had the half turkey. The food was totally delicious. I was expecting mediocre bar food but it was very satisfying. The waitress was awesome. She could tell we were in a rush and was right there with our check and boxes when we looked finished. Very attentive staff. Loved the experience.

We went ther late last Friday since our hotel was on the next block and our waiter was outstanding. Not only was he friendly but accomodating on a menu request. My steak sandwich came out perfectly cooked and my Marzen was good as usual. I was happy... left and went to Cheesecake Factory for dessert. I know, we're fatties.

My mom likes this place, so we went. It's ok. I had the goat cheese ravioli and it was hard on top (perhaps from sitting under a heat lamp). My mom got some cajun pasta dish which was-excuse my cajun-"merde." The service is good, though. Our waiter was very smiley. And I've never had the beer, but I would rather go to Pyramid. My mom still seems to like this place. Perhaps it was all the "bro-dudes" dining in the bar area. Who knows? It couldn't have been the food.

Mediocre food + drinks. I'd recommend the restaurant for: Large groups: The menu has a little something for everyone and the service is great. (Our waiter went the extra mile and split the bill for 15 people without complaint.) The bar: Good for a quick bite. Note that it's really awkward to sit in a"patio" area...inside of a mall. I don't even get why that's an option? No soup for you: If Campbells made lobster bisque, that is what this tastes like. It's overly salted with hardly any lobster in it. Don't order garlic fries on a date unless you want to punish him/her.

I've never not liked the place or had a bad experience so I'm a little disappointed to hear the previous reviews. It's truly sad. That said, I base my review on one menu item and the beer because it's the tradition that we 've come to always order.. and is the only thing we've ever ordered. The cobb salad-- it is really incredible and my boyfriend and I have ordered it everytime we visit Gordon Biersch (that's 3 or 4 times now). We split it and get the beer sampler and we've never been disappointed. Don't ask me why we're so hung up on this particular item at Gordon Biersch! It just works. It's sort of like that first date mentality that you have with some places. Cobb salad at Gordon Biersch has become a fond memory that we go back for! :)

Came here for a friend's birthday a few weeks back and in a very brief summary: 1. The waiter was very moody, and not attentive to any of the needs of our guests. In fact, he tried to avoid our table as much as possible... until it was time to pay, then he became a vulture... hovering. 2. My friend asked for a medium-rare steak and they screwed it up...3 times. Each time it was completely well done and tough. 3. The food was not very good, considering it's price! Overall, WORST experience ever... had we not left and enjoyed the rest of the evening, the Gordon Biersch experience would've ruined the otherwise pleasant birthday experience. BEWARE!

WARNING: I'm about to be whiny and negative, which is not my style. But life can't be all 5 stars, hilarious anecdotes, and drunken adventures, now can it? Gordon Biersch is totally not my scene. It's a convenient place to grab a drink before/after a movie (because movies = the only time I want to be hanging out at Pac-Place). I just get irritated here. Service is whatever, food is blah, atmosphere is... sports bar meets mall - great, two things I don't particularly enjoy. The beer is aiiight but nothing amazing, there are way better breweries in Seattle, so if you're looking to beer it up please brainstorm harder before settling for Gordon Biersch. This is pretty lackluster commentary for a pretty lackluster experience. My amount of enthusiasm is probably evident, I don't think I've used one exclamation point in this whole review. I will use one now after I think of something happy to say... um... oh! Being buzzed at the movies is AWESOME! Hopefully that redeemed things a little bit.

I'd give this place a 3.5 stars....and I was reluctant to hit the 4 star so I'm going for the 3....the food and service is good, but not great. I think if I like beer more I'd give it a 4 star (more of a wine/cocktail person, although I do like going to beer festivals for the souveneir glass lol). The price is a little high in my opinion cause really the food is closer to a mix of cheesecake factory....I've tried their crab cake sandwich, bbq burgers, calamari, and black cod. Like i said the food is good and I have no complaint about the service....and I've came back several times, but i just don't find the price to be that great....maybe next time I'll come for their happy hour and see if that changes my mind :)

This is a brewery restaurant right? Which would lead you to believe the beer is important? Don't feel bad, I thought so too. We ordered the Czech Pilsner and it's not impressive. When our unenthusiastic server got back I decided to change it up by ordering the Golden Export lager. No dice, they were out. I told him I'd think on it and upon his return I asked about the seasonal. They were out of that too. *sigh* I understand that the seasonal changes but when it's printed on the cover and inside your menu, you should probably just pick a season and go for it. I was so flustered and Sean (I think it was Sean) was so unhelpful that I just died a little inside and ordered another Czech. Bottom line: The beers that they do have aren't good and they're out of any that you might look forward to (but they're probably not great either). The only reason I didn't give them a 1 is because the food (all 3 of ours) was DELICIOUS.

This Chain is Not much of a brewery. I have never been all that impressed with the selection and quality found at Gordon Biersch. To me it feels like any other Chain restaurant I have ever wasted my valued time at, only they brew beer. Better beer is being served just about anywhere else including 711.

I haven't always loved GB but then I haven't always loved beer. Now that I've learned to appreciate some good beer and some decent pub fare, I'm impressed with the place. Oh sure, it's a chain and all but the place has some heart nonetheless. The thing that gets me is the service. I have always enjoyed a warm welcome, a bit of pleasant banter and great recommendations from the bar staff here. They have a great happy hour and it's perfectly located within the city. Right in the middle so you don't have to go far for some tasty chips and beer. I really loved the tapas plate (she brought extra bread) and garlic fries with BBQ sauce.

This place is your typical franchised wanna be microbrewery. The beer isn't that good, nothing wowed me. The food was decent but reminded me of Ruby Tuesdays only edible. Staff was friendly. The music was HORRIBLE!!! I asked the waiter to change it and they said it was corporate policy to play Mariah Carey's greatest hits... no joke. Also the location is inconvenient. It's on the top floor of the mall 4 stories up. The only reason I ever went up there was to go see a movie so it was a waste of my time... especially with Pike Place Brewery so close.

Went to have dinner there the other night .. The greeters were snobby and were rude about the wait times. after being told it was 25mins to sit in a restruant with no more than 20 people in should have told me to go to Thai Ginger instead. The waiter was rude and seemed annoyed to be there. My diet coke tasted like water after I told him it was flat and he told me thats how its suppose to taste WTF? Then the salads came along with a frozen lobster bisque. I told the waiter after he asked " how are soup and salads were and replied the bisque is suppose to be cold with a smile after his diet coke remark. He took the bisque away and brought a warm one out but I had pretty much lost it at that point since only after taking 18 mins to bring a warm bisque out our horrible entrées arrived. the Gorgonazolo Butter Steak was biggest waste of meat Ive ever had. two bites I was nearly sick to my stomach . My girlfreinds chicken burger was so dry you erase the menu with it. Were so annoyed we left after takling to some manager in training. He offerd us comps and free drinks . NO THANKS ! I have been to a G.B in Las Vegas and the food and servivce there were great ! Seattle GB you need major help !

I am a super big fan of their steaks therefore I rate as 5! On top of that, it is a very good deal, considering the price paid. The table service could be better and faster, anyway I go for their steaks. There is good beer as well.

I have mixed feelings about this place. First, the garlic fries are good and the sandwiches are a decent price. But the service is always lacking. We have been seated and left on two prior occasions because of lack of staffing. This time we sat in the bar and were waited on almost immediately, but after placing our order, we never saw our waitress again. Someone else brought the food and they never checked on us or asked if we needed more drinks. There are plenty of other places to eat around here, so unless they get better staff (and probably management), I will skip it.

I've been to Gordon Biersch before--mostly as a place to get some quick small plates before a movie. Today I went for lunch. I'd forgotten how big the menu is, which is nice. There is a lot to choose from: salads, sandwiches, tacos, pizza. I had the veggie pizza and it was really good. Service, unfortunately, was only adequate. Our waiter was nice enough, but failed to refill anyone's ice tea or Diet Coke. And, the drink glasses were small. Let's face it. There are a lot of OK places to eat at Pacific Place, so in order to stand out from the crowd and create preference, you really need to be tops in service. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and they appeared to have enoiugh people working, so maybe it's just a case of the lazies...

This place was alright. Great place to take a break from Christmas shopping and grab a burger, though, I wasn't Christmas shopping nor did I have a burger. Instead, I had dinner with my family and ate a Cobb salad. Not bad, but now I wish I had gotten a burger instead and come to think of it, I still have some Christmas shopping to do. What was I thinking? I suck at life.

would give 4 stars as the beer is great. Lost a star due to the food. it's typical bar food nothing too spectacular. Enjoy a few drinks and head on over to the theater next door to enjoy a flick. My rating system: Things To Die For = 5 stars Things To Die From = 1 star

My wife and I wanted to enjoy a happy hour after a couple of long days at a convention downtown. Their menu looked good; offering $6 premium cocktails of which they offered quite a few. Happy hour food selection is not that great and not much of a deal. Let me tell you their cocktails are weak. It's like they make sure to water down your $3 savings on these drinks. All that said, our server in the bar was excellent. Wish I could remember her name. You can find better downtown. If you're willing to walk, try Wild Ginger. A decent bar menu and 1/2 off all drinks, plus they make them well.

Big Vats of Beer They brew beer on premises here and have a full bar. I've always kind of shy-ed away from this place because it seems like a super yuppie hang out, but thankfully looks can be deceiving. The Yuppies don't really register after the first shot of tequila, FYI. The servers and tenders here are really great. The selection of food is wide, yet kinda spendy, and the beers are made in house. I was happy to hear that they are willing to do special substitutions on all of the food they offer. I'm Lacto-Retarded and can't eat cows milk products, they were totally willing to sub goats cheese and whatever else to make my meal perfect. I appreciate that, it's not so easy to be "special" at restaurants, but here it was easy. I recommend this place if you are going to a movie at the Pacific Place 11 theater and have some time to kill before the show.

Nothing about his place screams "amazing", but it's consistent and conveniently located for a nosh before/after movie. All the beers have a common taste, which is average. Happy hour food deals are decent. The music IS horrendous and sometimes weird. But that can happen anywhere. Though it' s nothing special, I find myself there once in a blue moon.

Went here back in August. Cousin was in town, and it was Hubby's birthday. Started off with a Tapas appetizer it was warm pita bread with a bunch of different accompainments. I believe there was tomato brushetta, olive tapenade, hummus, and roasted garlic. It was pretty good, and a nice way to start the meal. The boys all got some kind of a burger, while I got a chicken sandwich and cuzzo got the Pear Salad. We also got a free slice of chocolate cake, since it was hubby's birthday. Cuzzo and I ended up sharing that slice, since everyone else was full. Everything was pretty good. The drinks were refreshed constantly, no one was dying of thirst. The atmosphere is pretty much what you would expect from a Brewery restaurant. Though that evening the waiter informed us that some of their beers were not on the line. It was a bit disappointing for the boys, but they survived and order other brews. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Since we are in downtown Seattle, bathrooms are out of reach, but are located by the AMC theaters. :-) Overall a nice experience was had!

We didn't have enough time to head somewhere else for dinner before catching a movie at Pac Place, so Gordon Biersch it was. We made the mistake of ordering burgers... they were awful. The sangria had a strange taste as well. The service was friendly, but other than that, this was the worst Gordon Biersch we've ever been to.

The arti hearts rock, they really do. Small, tender artichoke heart quarters lightly battered in a happy, cirspy layer of love dusted with parmasen, accompanied with a very respectable garlic aioli. The drinks are pricey but can be tasty and fun if you feel up for splurging a bit. The whole pomegrante this and that trend right now is one I like. Pomegrante magargaritas are yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummy! The pizzas are of the thin, crsipy crust variety but seem to take a long time to come out. Food can really bit hit or miss here. I stick with the fish & chips and burgers. I tried the crab cake "burger" and it was just too much crab (did I really type that?). The whole thing had a good flavor but the consistency was mushy. The garlic fries, again hit or miss. I've had some be nice and pert, and other batches limper then a shoelace. So have a beer, or hell even an overpriced margarita, try the arti hearts (the calamari is good too), share a burger (they're pretty damn big), and then go outside, walk down a block, take a left and get dessert from Cold Stone Creamery. You'll be glad you did.

I used to work at J.Crew during the holidays and I would go and grab food for my break at Gordon Biersch. I really enjoy eating at this restaurant. They have a great variety on their menu and they are located in Pacific Place downtown. Last year when Seattle had that huge snow storm, most of the restaurants were closed in the downtown area, not Gordon Biersch! They were open. I highly recommend this place.

Typically, if you're here, it's because you're about to see a movie next door. The food is good (I usually order an entree, then forget that I cannot finish it.) They can accommodate very large groups, which is helpful when the entire office comes here before a movie, and while I have never had their beer, the strawberry lemonade is quite good. No real complaints -- for a chain restaurant in a mall, it's not bad.

went there Sat night with the BF at Pacific Place. we lucked out and got the last table in the bar. that was the only good thing. our server was nice but slow, although i will admit it was a busy game night in the bar. we both got the lobster bisque, which was tepid and bland. we've had better. he had the Kobe cheeseburger and i the lobster burger. both were more than well-done, almost burnt. the Hefeweizen was good but it was draft. my mojito was watered down with way too much ice. the mini dessert toppers were good, but a little overprice for how tiny they were. overall, it was just convenient for where we needed to be.

I had a really good visit here recently when I was in town. Our waitress was very friendly, assertive, and accomodating. I had southwestern egg rolls there for the first time and I loved them. I'm actually not a huge fan of their beer because none of them were very hoppy. I think they should introduce an IPA.

I have to say that we go to GB probably twice a year for the convenience and the food, However, the last two times we have been, the service has been so poor that we will most likely not be returning. Last night I was meeting friends in the bar for drinks, and then dinner in the restaurant. As my friends arrived, we had a minimum of 20 minute waits before the waiter made it over to take drink orders. After flagging him down multiple times to take the orders, we then had long waits for the drinks. Eventually, I flagged down another person, explained to them that we had been waiting 20minutes for drinks, and she made them appear within 2 minutes. explaining that the bartender was new, and that could be the reason for the delays. Once we got seated in the restaurant, which was largely empty for a Wednesday night, we ended up with the same waitress who had gotten our drinks for us. While she took our order timely, it took over 30 minutes to get our meals, with the salmon caeser coming out without the salmon. She then brought us the salmon on a separate plate once this was pointed out. Anyway, the concept is good, the food is generally good, but the lacking service makes me want to patronize a place that has their complete act together.

They have the BEST BURGERS I've had in some time. Cooked to perfection, pink in the middle, really juicy but not super oily and for only $10 beats out specialty burger restaurants. My fiance ordered the blue cheese burger and I was so jealous. I ordered the pasta jambalaya... pretty good, nice flavors, huge portions. Melon martini was also yummy. Finally, we ordered their dessert shooters, which is a great idea because it lets you try the dessert without buying the whole portion. I wish more restaurants did this. Love it!

I just drank 3 Patron margs in 1.5 hours at Gordon Biersch- $5 each. They have four different margs to choose from- standard, fruity, classy. The Patron marg was delish- served UP in a martini glass. Apparently I made the same grimace on the first sip as I would have made with a first shot. Strong. I coupled them (is that still coupling?!) with the HH chicken wings and it was great. BONUS! It is Tuesday, and we sat on the "patio" and people-watched the people lining up to see "Baby Mama" with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Apparently lotsa movies get released on Tuesdays? Who knew? Five stars for people-watching. My friend thought he was witnessing a "rehab club on a field trip". It was highly entertaining.

One star for the server, one star for the 5 dollar beer taster featuring 6 brews - all very good. I ordered the kobe beef sliders and they were foul. Dry, unflavourful, the meat was not rich - it tasted like chuck grade ground beef. The onion strings were pitiful. I might go back for a beer if I am for some reason needing drinks before a movie, but nothing else.

I went there last night, late for dinner/happy hour. Our server was super friendly even though I know how it feels to get new customers so close to closing time. We had the Parmesan crusted artichoke hearts (OMG! SO GOOD!) They were only $4.50 on HH and came with a tart/limy/aioli type dip. We also had the good old fashion Cheeseburgers off the late night menu, which come with fries ($9.50). The burger was tender and super juicy! We were able to add grilled onions for no charge. I will be going back soon to try their beers, I am beer's #1 fan!

The only decent pizza I've had in the last 6 months. Whenever I get a craving for pizza, this is where we go. Although I'm not a huge fan of microbrewed beers, (I know, I know) they have a huge selection of other beverages. My last outing, I forgot my ID, but to my taste buds' happy surprise, they had a delicious non-alcy watermelon bevvy. Yum! It even had real melon balls in it! So refreshing. Service is always outstanding here. For some reason, we always seem to go when the dining room is completely dead. Great! One thing to be aware of: There's an appetizer, "Housemade Chips fresh, Housemade Chips topped with Bleu Cheese Crumbles, Scallions, Smoked Bacon" They actually mean chips. POTATO CHIPS. Not as in "Fish &..." but more the Lay's variety, except they actually make them there. Had they been french fries, they'd get that elusive fifth star.

Terrible service and saw waitress twice once to take order and again to drop off bill. Beer wasn't that great either. Won't be coming back

My group has been here since 7:45. We're still here two hours later. They have screwed up our bill FIVE times. Fries took 25 minutes to get here, AFTER we already waited at least half an hour for our order to be taken. It's not even busy! This place had HORRIBLE service. Plus an included 18% gratuity? For the worst service I have ever experienced? You're kidding me. The food is good, but DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT. Awful.

Yuck. A friend, from New Jersey, was having his going away party here. I protested that is was in the mall and we should really go somewhere else, being from Jersey he said he likes the mall and we were going to be eating in the mall...uggh. With expectations set to low we took the four escalators up past the Victoria's Secret, the Express, the Express for Men, the Bath & Body Works, and arrived at the restaurant. It was a big group and they had set up a nice big table for us - see, I'm trying to be nice, but then the food came. Crab and artichoke dip - tasted fishy and not so yummy. C'mon you have artichokes, crab, and cheese...what went wrong? Cheeseburger - I decided I didn't want to take any chances so I ordered the cheeseburger thinking they couldn't mess that up. Well, if you cook a burger on a ridiculously hot flat grill you get a charred on the outside, pink on the inside, greasy mess of meat. Goat Cheese Ravioli - Someone else at the table was more adventurous, but was shot down. It was dry weird pasta, and I like dry crispy things, but we all decided that this was just plain yucky. Garlic Fries - Someone commented that these shouldn't be served outside of stadiums. I agree. Next time I will try to be more persuasive when dining with friends from Jersey.

Pacific Place is a fun place to see a good movie (when a good movie is actually on screen), grab a new book or books on tape (Barnes and Noble), or grab a bite to eat. Oh, wait. Did I say that? About that bite to eat part-- there's only one place I recommend at Pacific Place, and it's not Gordon Biersch. I like pubs and pub food, breweries, and brew pubs, and all things that resemble beer and food. However, I won't be adding this to my list of "fun places to go that don't suck". The only redeeming quality about the entire Biersch "experience" here was the hostess, who seemed to be the only one that groomed herself and cared about her job. She seated us in a comfortable booth, and that's when the exprience de merde began. It was a Sunday, and I was having lunch with my 2 children (9 and 14), and the server didn't even so much as acknowledge them. She must have been having a really bad day or maybe she had pedophobia. If your food and drink is 3 at best and your service is much worse, then why is my bill so bleeding expensive? I made the most of it, as my kids and I could probably still manage to have fun together during a nuclear holocaust. But, the ultimate sign that this place was the pits was that both of my children (who are NOT picky eaters by any means) hated their food, and they were very hungry. We got out of there, and decided to have our real food at the cinema, and might I add that the crappy popcorn turned out to be better tasting than the pizza, bland chicken wings, and forgettable salads we ordered. The ale I had was terrible, so I asked for a margarita. The margarita tasted virgin, and at that point I was ready to bail. This place over all is a 2.

I'm with you Michelle B. So, most of the crowd here was either waiting for a movie or just saw a movie. We fell in the later category. After perusing the menu, I decided I didn't want to really eat here but the group wanted to get beer and appetizers. And me on my no alcohol diet meant that this place wasn't getting any better. The tables were small and cramped. The music was loud and terrible. You need to leave the restaurant and head over to the elevators to use the bathroom. And the food to price ratio is grossly skewed. We ordered a few appetizers to split but there was nothing to split?! The fries were too small to split and the pot stickers were two pieces on a plate filled with greeneries. So disappointing, not filing, and overpriced. The waitstaff was attentive at least. And to top it off, another customer kept bugging us when were going to leave since she wanted the table for her post movie crowd. Which meant we were going to stay even longer just to spite her since she kept hovering around. sigh.

Meh. It's the Olive Garden of beer pub places? There are better ones in Seattle. But, if there's one across the street, and you need to find a place to host an interviewee that's close and cheap, this could do...

  • Thomas P.

Chain. 10 dollars gets you a beer so big it will be warm before you finish it. Thats all I have to say. Place to hang out before your movie starts.

  • Jessica R.

Overpriced, terrible food. Super salty soups, boring salads, heavy, greasy entrees. Blech.

  • Just Y.

Nice bar seating area and decent well lit dining room, nice place to sit if you're at the mall. Service is better in the bar than dining room. Beers are OK - nothing special at all if you're into the beer scene in Seattle. Food sucks. I'm not sure how, when you're otherwise dead, you can manage to serve fish & chips where the fish is burnt and the fries are soggy and barely warm. Probably the somewhat soggy fried calamari appetizer should have been a clue, that or the wilted iceberg lettuce salad with rubbery chicken.

  • Yay D.

not that i expected much from a chain in the mall (although i LOVE mexico, right next door) but this was one of my worst dining experiences in a long time. service was inattentive and slow, food was overcooked and overpriced. at least the waiter didn't charge me for the gross lunch that they served, so a few points for that. but i won't be going back anytime soon.

    (2)
  • Laural B.

I like a place that a) puts bacon on a spinach salad b)lets you see the Mexicans cooking your food c) has bread pudding as a dessert. I mean, bread pudding sounds like it would taste terrible, but it's actually great, and I almost always order it when it is offered, which is almost never. Our waitress was great, especially considering it was pretty crowded this December Saturday afternoon. My boyfriend's steak was likewise excellent, and I wasn't expecting that from a chain. Also, no children.

Stopped here for dinner last night before going to the movies. It's conveniently located right next to the movie theatre on the top floor of Pacific Place. It's a chain brewery with wannabe gourmet food and NO happy hour! Which I think is just WRONG! My friend and I were busy catching up we hadn't seen each other in a few months and the server kept stopping by asking if we were ready to order or if we wanted to start with something. To keep her at bay for a while we took her suggestion and ordered the crispy artichoke hearts which were topped with parmesan cheese and served with a lemon aioli. These were very tasty, just the right amount of crispiness, sprinkled with just the right about of parmesan and the aioli had just the right amount of lemon in so that it was over powering and complemented the artichoke very well. I should add our server was great and once she knew we were chatting up she let us be girls and talk with out bothering us except to bring our food and check. We finally decide on what to get, I went with the gorgonzola pear salad which was served with pecan crusted chicken and a vinaigrette dressing. My friend ordered the pecan crusted chicken dinner. My salad confused me a little, there were wild mixed greens and than chunks of iceberg. There were two pieces of chicken sliced and thrown on top along with five pear slices and the gorgonzola sprinkled on top. The vinaigrette was fresh and not too sweet. The combination of the chicken, pear and gorgonzola worked but the mixing of the greens didn't I personally thought the salad would have been better with spinach but I'm not a salad chef so what do I know. My friend said hers was OK, she didn't really touch the mashed potatoes it came with and ate just a few pieces of the seasonal veggies provided. The beer I almost forgot about the beer I went with the blonde bock and it disappointed me, a little on the flat side and not very flavorful. It wasn't hoppy enough and it claimed to have a malty flavor which I never tasted, I should have gone with my old stand by the Marzen which but I wanted to try something new. Will I be back, yes but not because of the food, drinks, service or beer but because it's convenient for hitting before or after seeing a movie.

I've been here only about 3 times, but every time I've gone, I've been very pleased with the food and beer selections. yes, garlic fries are amazing. Based on the last time I went, I strongly suggest the goat cheese ravioli with pine nuts.... hhmmmm. delicious! True, it sucks they're in a mall... but if you sit deep enough inside the restaurant, next to the highrise windows so you can look out upon the city, then hopefully you'll forget that fact... This is a great place to go though if you've just caught a movie next door and are looking for a place to get a drink with some friends and an appetizer... :)

Well, I'm not too into a lot of the beers that Gordon Biersch offers. Some of them are tasty but some you get tired of tasting right away. But the food here is good and I love their garlic fries, it's a veritable garlic assault!

Great microbrewed beers, nice food. Groovy lights decorate the brewing tanks. Very inviting. So starts the Gordon Biersch tour of the US. We've done Seattle and SF, now only about 10 to go.

Situated at the top floor of the mall, this restaurant has "patio" seating (basically open seating so you can people watch the mall rats), bar seating, and restaurant seating. I came here twice during my trip to Seattle on both a weekday and a weekend. During weekdays they offer a happy hour menu. The choices are pretty decent and the prices are good. They only offer this happy hour menu at the bar though. The bar area is open seating which is nice. It was pretty busy during the Friday night I came here. We stopped off here on Saturday afternoon as well to catch the final four. It wasnt crowded at all which was great! The wait staff during both visits was excellent! The signature garlic fries took me back to my days in SF and was soooooooo delicious! I also had the pasta with scallops and shrimp (I miss good west coast seafood!). I licked the plate dry it was so good! For dessert I ordered the single portion (half off the regular size slice) slice of the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I am lactose intolerant but this cake was so good it was worth it. I miss you Gordon Biersch.

Totally not authentic. Bad beer, overcooked burger. Garlic fries ok.

The waitress talked to the kids nicely. The food was not very good. The worst was the $14 meal which consisted of two tacos that each had two shells, some seafood in a bit of sauce, and shredded iceburg lettuce. Therefore it was dry (the double shells) and not flavorful. Wish I had been warned away from this. The wait was long for the food. We ordered one dessert. It was a brownie with ice cream. It was dry and did not have the sauces as pictured. I will never go back and will not recommend this to anyone. I am sure that it is for large groups..

Do not order the Old Fashioned Traditional Chopped Salad. It is grotesque at best. Seriously. I don't know about you, but I expect a decidedly creamy, un-saladlike dish when I order a chopped salad. It should have hunks of salami, chickpeas, and other sorts of oddities lurking within. Most importantly, it should have a savory, coleslaw-esque dressing on it that makes it less healthy than a Big Mac. Their version? Some bullshit lemon vinaigrette, NOT CREAMY AT ALL dressing that ruined it. The greens were not chopped. I think there was one, tiny, sliver of paper-thin sliced salami. And awkward slices of grilled chicken. You see the problem here? NOT chopped.

A gal pal and I were just on the lookout for some simple dinner one Friday night downtown at a place without a big ass wait. We settled on this place and let me say, we really did settle. Our server was a girl who seemed distracted as she told us the specials. The first thing I noticed was that she didn't even look us in the eyes as she spoke to us. That's a big turnoff for me. We ordered two salads and no beer. She seemed disappointed that we weren't gonna be bigger spenders.. Halfway through the meal she said a different waitress was taking our table over and then left. um. Thanks. I don't go here to expect stellar service but I just don't know if I even care for the food or beer enough to recommend this place. The only reason I would is because there was no wait to eat in the bar/terrace-y part so that's a plus. Besides that, it was an underwhelming experience all around.

It's Pacific Place Mall, your not going to find any amazing food but its convenient, close to the theatre. Great for catching dinner before a movie. Service is always great, never a long wait and the burgers and pasta are alright.

Garlic Fries are delicious! this is a great place for you to bring family, friends, dates... especially if you want to impress them. we always came here to celebrate and feast on delicious, creative, and palette-friendly foods. great beer on tap. I highly reccommend this place to everyone new and old to Seattle. try it out. then hop over to the ever-loved movie theatre.

I'm not sure how the food is. The menu looks good. But, after being seated and waiting a long time without seeing hide nor hair of waitstaff we decided to try somewhere else. This was on Saturday afternoon at 4, not a dinner rush. Chances are the service would be atrocious any other time too.

The Service is OK, and the Food is OK. Nothing here is over the top. The service took too long, ordering drinks took too long, ordering our food took too long, getting refills on drinks took too long, getting our food took too long, EVERYTHING here just took too long. I have had my fair share of dine-in restaurants and man they sure do like to take their damn time. I honestly don't even know why Im giving them two stars. I ordered their sliders($10), came with some union rings. Thought they were going to be the size of a coaster like all sliders should come, but man these things were quarter sized burgers. I swear to god, if I wanted to, I could have eaten each slider in one bite. And on top of that the union rings were WEAK! I've had enough, and this is the end of the review. :/

I frequent the original Gordon Biersch back at home, and this place puts it to shame. Then again this one is located in Pacific Place, where as the original is in a back alley surrounded by sewage pipes. Anyways, the food is always spot on, the beer is delicious, service super friendly, and prices are just right. A nice little spot to catch up with folks if you don't mind being in a mall.

Can garlic fries be life-affirming? When I first moved to this wonderful city, I came to the realization that, yet again, the hell that I came from was missing out on yet another thing. The pride, joy and passion that goes into brewing your own product and selling it...at not too steep a price to the public. It must be something like what parents feel with children. That feeling of pride when pour that first sample from the cookers and breathing in the aroma of the your labors. Then that first sip of the sweet nectar and just knowing this one, will do you proud. Yeah, I know, its crazy! Comparing brewing beer to raising children. Look at it like this, beer never goes through the terrible two's. It never get hooked on drugs. It never knocks some girl up or brings some ho' home and makes most people it comes in contact with happy. Combine all of these pluses with a great location that can be combined with a night out and then there are the garlic fries. Those magical, sinfully bad for you potatoes that must have come from elves or...some place far, far away! I used to come out of my way on Fridays, if I had a good week, just for those magical fries and a true pint. The staff is friendly, helpful and fast. They can also tell you the kind of beer you are looking for just by the description of what you are looking for. Yes. Garlic fries combined with great service, a great location and even better beer can be life-affirming.

As far as heffs go, this was not my favorite. The waitress was less than impressive. I didn't have any food, but judging by the less than spectacular beer, I don't think that I would be back to try it.

As chain restaurants go this is a pretty good one. The service has always been good, the beer, and the food. What I would really recommend on a visit, it to sit in the bar, drink some beer, and get a burger and garlic fries. My only warning is don't plan on making out with anyone afterward, the garlic will linger.

Beautiful restaurant situated in Pacific Place Mall, on the top floor. No restrooms (weird ehh?) You have to walk towards the cinema for that. Great beers! Great food. I miss their red beans and rice. The menu changes but it's still all great food. Great views.

Not bad food and drink. loud and in a mall. garlic fries didn't have much taste, but the burger did. the wings were also tasty. was chosen only for close proximity to movie theater yards away to meet up with friends for a bite to eat. Overall, if you like beer, burgers and The Ram type of experience, very much like The Ram experience, then go. Otherwise don't.

Corporate restaurants really aren't our thing, but this restaurant is just so convenient before or after a movie. Our food came out before our beer. The fries were lukewarm. The bottle of ketchup they gave us was empty. My lump crab cake sandwich tasted as if the crab was right out of a can. I gave 1 extra star only because they did apologize about the beer and took it off the tab.

    (2)
  • Aaron M.

Beer is okay. Really nothing outstanding. Food is average to below. I am often tempted to eat/drink here before or after a movie but as I approach I regain my senses and walk away. I have only ever sat on in the bar which is cramped and feels like something is not right...perhaps it is becuse it is a bar in a mall. Who goes to the mall to drink? The people at G&B

    (2)
  • Kris J.

I enjoyed the garlic fries. Otherwise there is not much noteworthy about this restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy having to walk half the length of a shopping mall to use the restroom and overpriced appetizers.

If you like hairy bread and rotting salad greens, this is the place for you! Seriously, what happened to this place? When it first opened, it was great. But now, the quality of the food and the service has tanked. After alerting our server to the hair and the bad greens, she just shrugged it off.. didn't even give us an apology, an explanation, or any compensation.

Gordon Biersch. It's one of those places you'd never want to walk to. Despite it's awesome location; right in the middle of downtown, you just can't walk to it because if you do, you'll find yourself stranded on this lonely planet, with no one you can trust enough with your home keys, to get that wheelbarrel you've always wanted to put to good use in your backyard, to come back, pick you up, and to finally roll your overstuffed butt back home. Was that a run-on sentence? It's okay. Because I'm willing to sacrifice my great english literary skills for that desciption. The restaraunt/brewery is awesome. The interior is beautiful, a perfect top level companion for the seattle downtown Pacific Place Mall. The view from some of the window booths are great for making fun of those ant-like people walking downtown like they're chickens with their heads cut off. So apparently, Gordon Biersch makes their own beer. And even better, they make it right there, on the top floor of the mall, on the other side of the restaraunt. Cool eh? Yeah, it's really nice. Considering it's very good beer, and you have a choice from those lightest, to the darkest, from least hoppy, to very full on hoppy kinds of beer. And you get taste them before you even buy them! It's like getting drunk before you even begin paying for drinks. (If only I were that cheap of a date...but for some of ya! You know you want to try it) Also their Grand (something) Margarita, and their Berry (something or other) Margarita's were fantastic. Very strong, and tastes really smooth. Considering they use 1800 and something else in it, what more can you expect? Good Stuff. A round of applause please? But wait! There's more! We ordered this crab thing for an appetizer. OMG I almost cried it was so good. Close your eyes for me, and listen to this description for a minute (well, don't close your eyes, umm, nevermind, just read on). (WARNING: If you haven't eaten yet. PLEASE do so before reading beyond this point or face certain death....yes, death!) Imagine, a nice bread bowl, much like the ones your get at your local fish market on the piers when you buy some clam chowder. Except it's not filled with clam chowder, it's filled with crab and artichoke hearts, perfectly seasoned to compliment the sourdough bread like peanut and butter. (just kidding, more like Peanutbutter and jelly) I'd go back just for this appetizer every day until my last day on this planet, or Gordon gets a restraint order on me...whichever comes first, I suppose. Anyway, moving on. The special of the day was a garlic something something burger. For all you goth Vampire loving people out there, steer clear of this one. I'm not sure if it's just a special, and they don't normally have this one (not that you know what i'm talking about with my amazing memory for names of things like I'm sure you've noticed) because it wasn't on the menu, instead it was vocalized to us by our waiter...So, back to the point, For all you goth vampire loving people, this one is extremely garlicy. By the way, so are all their fries. But MAN! They're good! Garlic Fries, oh how I love thee! (Becareful for those that are on dates...bad news, trust me) One thing I did find odd was that they don't ask how you want your hamburger done. (They also don't cook hamburgers under medium) Our waiter didn't ask how I wanted my patty done, so it came out well. No pink, which I'm sure some of you enjoy, but I normally get my hamburgers medium rare. (and my steaks blue rare *drool) The good thing about this was that despite the fact that the meat was cooked well, it was extremely juicy. Not dry, not flaky, but juicy! MmmMmmm. Not bad. My girlfriend ordered the Mahi Mahi burger, which if I may add was like heaven on a platter! Once again, a round of applause for the cooks! Mahi? Dry? Never! Not at my pal Gordon's! (We're on a first name basis now thank you) And so finally, the final chapter of this review, and probably the most important. Price. As I'm sure we're not all multi-billionares like me, price plays an important role in our (I mean your cause you know, I'm a multi-billionare) going-out lives. Being able to have fun, enjoy our day, and not feel like we just sold our souls to the devil. Anyway, Gordon Biersch is a bit pricey. $8-10 for the burgers, $12-15 for their pastas, $1,259-1,682 for their salads (no, just kidding, but that part of the menu was of absolute no imporance to me) and about $22-26 for their steaks and stuff. A pretty wide range of prices, but I'd have to say honestly, $8-10 for a burger that made me want to cry and call it a good life is perfectly fine.

We have one of these back home which rocks but I had to also comment on how awesome this place was too! They were able to accommodate us by the bar with our huge crowd of co-workers and to split our check 10 ways. Yikes! I love a place that will split checks and not have a cow over it :) I had their lemon chicken which was tender and juicy. I'm in love with their mashed potatoes! The beer on the other hand is just as good! The bathrooms are a bit hard to find. Apparently we throught they were inside the restaurant but they're outside by the elevators. If you get a spot by the window you'll have a great view. It's located right on the top over looking the mall.

The short version: Probably in the top five worst restaurant experiences I've had, ever. The long version: We went here since the movie we had gone to see was sold out, and we'd already paid for parking at the mall. First off this is supposed to be a German place, but I guess they've since changed the menu because they didn't have any German food on the menu to speak of, and they used to from what my dining companion said. We ordered a crab/artichoke dip to start, which I don't eat much but agreed to try. it arrived in a bread "bowl". I say that because only a very small portion was carved out so there really wasn't much dip to speak of. It was edible but not great, and my friend who was really likes that dish said their version was "weird" and not like any other she had tasted. Our entrees came, and I found the seared ahi steak to look pretty good, but on later inspection it to be really, really, rare. now before anyone jumps on me, I *know* it's *supposed* to be rare, but I've had ahi tons of times and this was way above and beyond the call of duty. It was a nice thick cut of ahi and the parts that were seared were good, but the majority of the interior was literally bloody, and all stringy and fibrous such that it was difficult to cut, much less chew. (note I didn't get a steak knife to cut it with either, but even with a butter knife ahi shouldn't be a challange.) obviously this wasn't anything approaching sashimi grade ahi, which is usually what one should be using when preparing this dish, and it's a little bit frightening to think about undercooked discount tuna. I had resigned myself to just eating the parts that were cooked and skipping the rest when I found a big fat hair baked into the pepper crust or whatever was on the outside. No joke, I looked at it closly, it was definitely a hair, and it was cooked into the food so it had to have been introduced while in the kitchen, and not from the waitress, us, or anyone else around the table. Our waitress came back and asked if everything was ok and I told her "well, there is a hair in my ahi" and she said something like "oh well then." and I'm kind of like, uh, well what now? and she just kind of looks at me and says "you know it's free." Nice, but kind of vague. The hair is free? The meal? In any case, no I don't know. but an apology and someone offering to not charge me for it explicitly might be in order. we didn't get either. She took the plate away and I saw her show it to the manager. She came back with the bill and my meal had been removed, but then she says "so our manager says that wasn't a hair, it was a piece of ginger". WHAT? Ok, first of all, it was not a piece of ginger, I know what ginger looks like and I know what a hair looks like, and it's not easy to mistake one for the other. Unless the manager thought you were pointing to the ginger and not the hair. Second, why would you ever say that? You've already comped the meal and normally would just be doing damage control, but now you've got to come by and insult me too? Am I going to go "oh sorry, you must be right, let me pay for that anyway." Who says that sort of thing? I can tell you: not anyone who works at a restaurant I'll ever go back to. I'm sorry if you're just passing on what the manager said, but most people would have the good sense not to, in this case. I'd rate this place lower but apparently one star is the minimum.

Happy hours have good deals, otherwise I wouldn't eat here. Happy hour is also super crowded, so expect some trouble finding seating. The service is friendly. The food was decent.

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. I went to the Downtown Seattle Gordon Biersch last night and had a terrible experience. I brought my brother and his friend who were visiting from out of town. First of all, I ordered the Blackened Chicken salad and my brother had the ceasar salad and substitued blackened chicken for regular chicken. My brother's salad came with blackend chicken, mine did not. When I tried to tell our server that it was not the right chicken he said it just looked different because my chicken was sliced and my brother's was in pieces. I told him I still did not think it was blackened chicken so he took it back to the kitchen, only to return to our table with the same salad telling me again that the chicken just looked different because it was sliced. I tried my brother's chicken and it was completely different from my PLAIN grilled chicken. When our bill came, we asked to have it split up between three of us and wrote our entrees next to the names on our cards. It took our server over 15 minutes to run our cards and when we got them back it was completely wrong (charges to the wrong cards, all the drinks on one card) and he didn't even give us slips for one of the cards. He never returned to our table and we had to flag another waiter down to help us. Five minutes later, our server comes over to ask how the bills were wrong while accusing us of not splitting them up properly. We had to explain to him that we only wrote down the entrees that went with each card and we didn't think we should have to tell him which drink goes with each entree since he served them to us. It took over 20 minutes for him to fix it and we had to write down every single thing we got so that he would get it right. So it took close to 45 minutes just for us to pay. This was the absolute worst experience. I was embarrassed in front of my family as I was the one who suggested going this restaurant to my brother and it was terrible. We will not be coming back.

Stop in before or after a movie at the Pike Place Cinemas. Higher end pub fare, decent service and really good beer. The appetizers are great...make a meal of these!

their bar area is a great place to kill time before a movie or just that, kill time. fast service in there, esp. if you tell them that you're going to catch a movie soon. they'll do whatever they can to give you your goods asap. their garlic fries are so tasty and the appetizer sampler plate is filling and yummy. and if you're a sports fanatic, this isn't such a bad place to watch the current game, they have flat screens all across the walls and every seat has a good view of 'em. very fun place/atmosphere!

The reunion between the Mexican and I after almost a year was not expected. To celebrate our reunion, he took me here as I suggested. I ordered the most expensive item on the menu, and may I say I wish he was my pillow so it would have been softer to lay on after consuming the whole meal. The steak was very tender and juicy. Très délicieux.Nice atmosphere.

I've been here several times but have never wrote a review (I know, shocking right?!) Met up with some friends for dinner last night. I decided to try the flight of beers ($6.50 for 6!) That was a pretty good deal in my opinion. All the beers were pretty good, not my faves though. Nothing really stood out to me like some other brews have. Dinner was great. I had the BBQ Marzen Chicken sandwich and their famous garlic fries (which are to die for!!) Friendly and attentive service and fair prices. I even got a growler for $5.

Went there for lunch and was disappointed. I've been to the one in San Jose many times and the Seattle location was nowhere near as good. They sat my party of four on a table that was so small we were very uncomfortable. The food took 30 minutes + to arrive and it wasn't very good. We ordered a well done burger, but it was pink, which is not what someone wants to see when they ask for well done. Maybe it was an off day, because the San Jose location is awesome.

We went to Gordon Biersch after the Westin concierge recommended the restaurant for some of the best fish and chips in the city (in her opinion). We were looking for locally sourced fish, and the concierge said the fish there would be fresh and local. Upon arriving there, we asked about the fish and were told it was Atlantic cod, so it is not locally sourced. The concierge was wrong on that account, as well as the quality of the good. The fish was possibly the worst fish and chips I have ever had at a restaurant. It rivaled the lowest quality frozen battered fish fillets you can buy in a supermarket. Small fillets, over cooked, and partially dry are the best descriptors. They would be smart to just open a box of Gorton's and serve that. The garlic fries were good, though! Recommendation: For fish lovers, go elsewhere!!

This is a bit of a half assed review if I'm honest. Two reasons why this is, firstly we arrived at the restaurant at 7:10pm and had a 8pm show of Book of Mormon to go to so we had to rush! Secondly I accidentally got a mojito and a mimosa mixed up. I do not like mojitos but drank it anyway because it was $10. Anyway, the good was awesome I had a chicken and avocado burger and my wife had seafood tacos! Mine was one of the best chicken burgers I've had in about a year and my wife's tacos were amazing Aswell. The service was pretty good and we explained we had to rush because of the show and she got us fed and watered very quickly. I'd go back so yea good job.

I had the fresh ahi as a starter and the chicken jambalaya, and both were great! The waitress was awesome (Chris), and the beer was pretty good. The place was loud because they were launching a new beer, but they band they had playing was really good. I will come back to try some more food, probably when it is less loud though :)

My wife and I stopped here after a Seahawks game. Food was mediocre but the service was horrible. Our waiter took 15 minutes to wait on us and then 20 minutes to bring our drinks. The only time we saw him is when he brought our check. The gentleman that brought our food was more polite than our waiter.

This was by far one of the worse experience I have had with service at a restaurant. I am highly disappointed, in the service here and how long it took to get our food out to us. We ordered our food at 12:15, the restaurant was half full and not busy. It wasn't till 12:50 did we get out food, and by then we had to get to go boxes to eat our lunch on the run. At one point we saw all the food on the counter for like 15 minutes and no serves around. Also, the messed up on my co worked food and they had to re make it. The serves said "oh sorry it a busy lunch hour." BS! And that is not a way to apologize to a party who have been waiting for their food for an extended time. Sorry I will be taking my business somewhere else from now on.

Some of the best beer I've ever had and the food is super great too! The food I've tried the few times I've been there was: GOAT CHEESE BRUSCHETTA Crispy flatbread with goat cheese spread, topped walnuts, arugula & goat cheese crumbles. CRISP SWEET POTATO FRIES Served with brown sugar cream cheese and housemade barbecue sauce for dipping. SOUTHWEST EGG ROLLS* Stuffed with pulled chicken, black beans, corn, roasted red peppers, carrots, zucchini and pepper jack cheese. BAJA TACOS Sauteéd mahi with avocado cream, charred tomato salsa, mexican crema and cotija cheese. & all of it was really good! It's hard to pick a favorite but IF I HAD to.. baja tacos.

My son took me here for my birthday. I had been to the one in Phoenix and absolutely loved it. Sadly, the food here was not even close to the Phoenix restaurant. It was chewy and overcooked ... for all of us. The waitress was great and super friendly. Just the food was as good as the service.

My friend and I came here two nights ago for her birthday celebration. This was her first time here but this was my second visit. I had the garlic fries during my first visit which were pretty tasty, but the most recent trip is what this review is mostly based on. My friend and I were not impressed with the food we got. I had the Cajun pasta and she got the fish and chips. It was only okay. However, we did like the restaurant's beer that is brewed in-house. My recommendation: come here for the beer and garlic fries for a pre-funk before going out and hitting up the city.

Well, going on a sunny day for lunch into a mall is not really what I like. But a friendsrecommendation brought me up to the top floor of the Pacific Center under the huge glass roofto Gordon Bierschs Brewery. I decided to take the Hefeweizen together with the "Märzen BBQ Burger". That was quite a good choice. The Hefeweizen was a really good, muddy beer with the regular flavour as sold all over Bavaria and not the somewhat specialized microbrewery style. The burger is also great with a dark, strong BBQ sauce (which could have been a little more on it), some bacon and a tasty patty, cooked perfectly medium as I ordered it. The garlic fries who come along with the burger are o.k. but lacked a little bit of garlic instead of salt - I just expected a little more. Overall a nice brewery in a pleasant location for rainy days.

There aren't too many options for casual dining in downtown Seattle as a tourist. Or perhaps there are, but I haven't found too many. Hence why I've ended up here quite a few times. That, and, I do recall $3 mimosas from my last visit. Despite a cluster**** at the front door (not the restaurant's fault), we were seated as promptly as they could. Server arrived quickly, as did drinks, as did the delicious garlic fries. We had the grilled cheese (with bacon and avocado mayo) with a side of fruit, the ahi tuna salad, and the blue cheese potato chips. Everything was delicious, service was good, and all in all it was worth the repeat visit.

I went here for "linner", after an exhausting day at the wedding expo (Convention Center, January 2014), with 3 relatives. Their Kobe black-and-blue burgers and sandwich were excellent, however this 5-star rating is for the service that I received. I ordered the Farmhouse burger, and it arrived delicious, juicy....and medium-well (I ordered very rare). I almost never send food back, as I'm happy just to have a good meal, but I do LOVE a rare burger...so I sent it back. Our waiter, Nick, was apologetic, attentive, had a positive attitude, and took care of it. Even before this issue, he was very available, without hovering, had a fantastic sense of humor and gave honest answers when queried about the beer and food. Amazingly, my replacement Farmhouse burger came to me...medium-well. Nick was aghast, and took it back, and within minutes the Manager and Head Chef(?) came to the table to personally apologize to me. They explained the limitations in cooking the Farmhouse rare, and offered to put the Kobe beef on the Farmhouse setup, and comp my meal. This pretty much floored me- it's what you would expect a good restaurant to do, but how often does that actually happen? My Kobe/Farmhouse arrived amazingly rare, amazingly delicious, fresh from the grill, and with a total of THREE garlic fries sides. At this point, everyone else was done with their meal, so I had half my burger and took the rest to go. It was worth every penny that I would have gladly paid for it (and the Swarzbier was very nice, as well). So overall, the food was great, and the service was OUTSTANDING. Kudos to Nick, and the managers on 1/12/14 (around 3pm). I will definitely be coming back here (and will now know not to order the FarmHouse "rare").

We came in tonight for our first visit and it was a great find!!! We had Brandon as our server, I highly recommend him, he was attentive, informative and inviting. Brandon helped us come to our orders, he was honest with the things we should try and things that wouldn't for our desires. The ambience was nice, even for being at a bar type place during a seahawks game. The view was nice too!!! Highly recommend it!!!!!!

I have visited Gordon for happy hour a few times and always been happy with the meal and selection they offer. Good price and the food is pretty tasty. This week I got a a birthday coupon to come in for an entree buy one get one free. So we did just that. What a disappointment. The crab cakes were $27 and they were burnt. The other meal we ordered was chicken and shrimp $17 or $19 was that price. It was maybe worth $8 and honestly we've had better food. The best part of the meal was the garlic fries. The service was good and the waitress was very nice. We wont be back for a regular meal anytime soon. But we would go back for a quick bite on happy hour.

My husband & I came to Gordon Biersch due to a movie screening at the nearby AMC within Pacific Place. I had figured of all the choices we had within Pac Place or nearby that GB would be best since it was 'in' the building and had a happy hour. We seated ourselves and waited for our waitress to come. There were no menus on the table for happy hour so we definitely needed to talk to her before we could start to make choices. Our waitress greeted us and told us that happy hour was currently going on and that it was on select apps and beers/drinks, etc. My husband had debated ordering a beer but the menus do not note the prices at all (kind of odd, yeah?) I ordered a side caesar (which wasn't listed on the menu) and a happy hour pepperoni pizza. My husband ordered the Southwest Combo which included sliders as well as some eggrolls and fries. The food took quite a while to arrive and I was getting a little antsy. I usually have no problem sitting and taking my time but not when I have a movie to catch. My caesar was nothing to write home about and even more so when I found it cost $5.95. WOW! I would've never ordered if I had known it'd be so spendy! The pizza wasn't bad although I couldn't eat the crust at all as it was bland and dry. Towards the end, we could not find our waitress to get our check. I got up to head to the restroom and was told by a different waitress that they don't have one. That I had to go outside the restaurant and down the hall to the elevators and use the 'shared' bathroom. That was an instant turn-off for so many reasons. Staff have to wash their hands each time and are traveling to the bathroom down the hall and all that way to get back to 'work?' And forcing your customers to have to leave the establishment and no signs noting this at all was just the icing on top. There are better places to eat at.

I recently went to Gordon Biersch twice in a short period of time. I had business in the area, and I wanted somewhere that I could have a nice sit down meal. I really enjoyed both times at here. The first time I went we immediately were seated. The restaurant was not very busy, and our waiter was super attentive. I ordered the turkey burger. Now, I am usually very keen when I see onions on the menu to ask for onions to be removed, but the menu did not mention that the turkey burger would have onions in it. I certainly did not expect it to have onions as it isn't a common ingredient for most places to put in a turkey burger. When I removed the top bun and saw plenty of onions sticking out I cringed immediately. I could not eat it with so many onions! I apologized to my waiter and explained that I could not eat the burger due to the onions. I even offered to pay for it, but I really needed to order something else. My waiter was pleasant, charming, and said it was no problem. He didn't even charge me for it. I ordered a black and blue burger minus the onions and it was cooked perfectly. It was certainly especially delicious and they threw in some free french fries for good measure. The second time I went there the restaurant was packed. My party waited for ten minutes to be seated, and there still was a line. Our waiter, different from the time before, was also very nice and attentive. I ordered another delicious burger and my friends ordered equally appetizing meals. The service still was great despite being packed to the gills. I am not going to say that Gordon Biersch has the best burgers in downtown Seattle, but they serve really tasty burgers and while I can't comment on their beer, I am not a beer drinker, their cocktails are very satisfying. I won't go out of my way for Gordon Biersch, but if I am in the area it will be my top pick.

Beers were above average, though no seasonal or Brewer's Best (their term for a guest brew) were available. The schwarzbier was the best of the lot, I thought. The place is pretty generic - top floor of the mall - and the servers were harried despite a small crowd.

    (3)

Meh. We are from out of town. The beers are really good but the food is shit and overpriced. Okay-ish service. And this place is in a mall. Wouldn't come back but would probably stop by to get a growler fill.

Don't order anything that isn't beer, burger, fried, or has cheese. Just don't. This is a good rule to follow, pretty much at any chain or beer and maybe food joint. I ordered the Creole Chicken, which is described as grilled chicken with a tomato based savory spicy sauce, seasonal vegetables and jasmine rice. What arrived was recently, and unevenly microwaved chicken with a dollop of what looked to be a salsa from Maine, desiccated rice and a huddled mass of five summer squash rounds (it's December.) My toddler's pizza had a similar recently nuked texture, looking a bit fresher, but with that nuked spongy quality that you find with microwave pizza. The smears of grease on my plate also showed a lack of anyone's concern over presentation. The server, who didn't appear until after my plate hosted just the pile of sad rice, asked me about my meal, and I replied that it was disappointing. He offered a cup of their minestrone, and when declined, let me know that the cup of fruit I ordered with my kid's pizza was "stolen from the kitchen" because it normally doesn't come with the pizza. Uh, thanks? Also, I can pay for food. I guess he got points for at least pretending that he cared. I will not be coming here again, unless I'm forced to.

There were days I used to love this place but with each visit (which is yearly, usually) it gets less and less desirable. The service for the most part remains attentive and friendly, but on the last visit, my friend ordered soup that never came. We had forgotten about even ordering it until we were half-way through our meal but then it was on our check. We received an apology and it our check was corrected, but I can't remember the last time I didn't get something I asked for and then got charged for it without the server noticing. I used to love the Garlic fries but they seemed bland to me this time. It could be they've gotten worse or my tastes have changed, but they weren't as good as I remember. Our sandwiches were good but they gave us both bad aftertastes like the meat wasn't very good quality. With all that's available in Seattle now, this definitely isn't near the top of my list for recommending.

I am on the 4-star fence here but the inconsistent quality of food & service is keeping me at 3. The menu is large and varied, there really is something for everyone (and a good kids' menu). They include calories in their item descriptions, which I really appreciate. And they have a very varied menu with lots of seasonal items. But as I said, they are inconsistent. One visit the turkey burger was big and juicy and very tasty, the next visit it was small and dry. Etc. Ditto for service, they can be great or so-so but in fairness, they are usually on the better side. This place is great for large groups and still my go-to place before or after a movie, but I wish they'd step up their game a bit.

The food was terrible and over priced. The menu is huge with lots of options. Hopefully, my date and I just picked the worst items on the menu. We started with Crab & Artichoke Dip served with crostinis 9.95. Which was probably the best part of the meal. Then I had the Crab Stuffed Yellow Tail Sole Fresh fillets stuffed with crab meat, baked and topped with lobster sherry sauce. Accompanied by jasmine rice and vegetables 23.50. Neither the fish nor the rice was any good. The sauce was very bland and the rice was crunchy. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is for happy hour and the service. Our waiter was nice and during happy hour you can get some great deals.

Been coming here for years, mainly for dinner before a movie. Wondering if they've changed ownership, because overall quality has gone downhill. Service was only fair, menu was uninspired and drastically cut back from what we remember. Server admitted he was unknowledgeable about wine, which seems inappropriate for a fine-dining establishment. I felt like I was putting him out when asking for things. I had to practically beg for a plate of bread to go with my pasta (apparently it doesn't come with entrees?). Salad was brought before entrée with appetizers. If you just want to hang out with a beer and appetizers to watch the sports TV in the pub section, that would probably work fine.

This place is just okay. I usually come here for happy hour before a prescreening of a movie (we can watch the line and drink at the same time). I feel like their food has gotten a lot worse. The only saving grace is their prices on mixed drinks and alcohol (and their garlic fries). The drinks are pretty cheap and tasty. We got the slider combo, both the kobe (i HIGHLY doubt its kobe and if it was why cook it well done??? just killing the flavor) and the bbq pork sliders (just average). Our server was just okay too. Forgot my friend's beer and only checked up on us once? this place is just mehhh...

Gordon Biersch is a fun atmosphere and they have a great happy hour. I generally try to stick to the bar when I can. I would not recommend trying to eat there on a weekend with several movie releases going. It's chaos. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table (or hoover over somebody's table at the bar until they leave). When we were finally called and led to the back, it was 60% empty. We were really confused why they don't have more staff working on a movie release weekend? They have a GF menu..but..it's minimal and pretty much consists of plain meat patties since they share fryers with gluten-containing products. I have a hard time calling them allergy friendly, and not just because of the small gluten-free menu. On my last visit I ordered the usual burger (without a bun) which is a meat patty and a pile of lettuce next to it and a slice of tomato. It looked cooked like I requested (no pink) but about 30 minutes after our meal (we went to the movies after) I started to get an intense stomach ache. I almost left the movie because I thought I was seriously going to throw up. Sad. The other reason I don't think they are allergy friendly is that my BF can't eat dairy or eggs, so on his sandwich he requested no mayo or cheese. Out comes our dinners, his with a small layer of cheese and mayo. We're honestly used to this, but we were on a time crunch and didn't relish waiting for a replacement. The server was great; very apologetic. He went to get it straightened out and came back almost immediately with a new, fixed one. We could tell it wasn't the same one with condiments scraped off (we've seen that before at other places), but it was really odd how fast that was made. Maybe he just picked up the wrong order, I don't know, but it was bizarre. Overall, I'll just stick to happy hour and drinks. I don't trust the food anymore.

I usually come here for lunch with clients or business partners and generally sit in the bar at a table, order a burger and that's about it. Occasionally, I will come in after work for a beer and one of their ahi dishes, sitting at the actual bar. Only the mid day bartenders know me here. Today I was working a high energy event and came in to get dinner exhausted and hungry. I ordered a meal and glass of wine. Didn't love the wine (it's a beer place I should know better but I wanted wine). I sat here zoned out for a good hour before I realized my food order had never been entered. When I brought it to the bartender's attention, he was wonderful! He comped my dinner (had it out to me with a swiftness) and my first glass of wine. I ordered a different second glass of wine and might just get desert (something I never do). I really appreciate that the bartender did what he could to fix the mistake. Thank you Matt!

Really poor service tonight. Stopped in to get a quick bit in the bar before seeing a show. I sat unacknowledged at a table for 15 minutes before walking out. Several members of the wait staff walked by the table several times without any sort of acknowledgement. It was not especially busy or crowded, so I'm a bit surprised by the poor service.

Serious management problems going on here. Our waiter was apologetic after we waited 40-45 minutes for our entree but no sign from a manager. Maybe it is a common occurrence to disregard customers who have been waiting for-ev-er. Across from us a man sent back an undercooked chicken dish. Apparently there are problems in the kitchen as well. Saving grace for me were the garlic fries. Best I've had...maybe ever. And the pilsner was pretty solid. Unfortunately that does not make up for the kobe beef burger on a soggy pretzel roll that gave me nauseating gas for two days. It is a shame because the location is great for grabbing a bite before catching a movie at Pacific Place. I might, *might* be coerced into coming here to sit at the bar and have said garlic fries and beer while watching a game, but that is all.

  • Theresa D.

I know everyone has said it, but just to reiterate, the garlic fries are pretty much the best ever. We came here for dinner before watching Wicked, and came back afterwards for more fries (though the midnight fries weren't as good as the two orders at 7:00). I should also mention I was in a group of 8 so it doesn't sound like I personally ate three baskets of fries. Because I didn't. Anyway, also ordered a Hawaiian pizza and it was your typical pizza, nothing really made it stand out. Everyone ordered something different, and while no one LOVED their food, no one hated it either. I think an A-OK score is fair for great garlic fries, great drinks, and meh food. Great bar choice for sure if not meeting for dinner!

The food and beer here have always been very good each time we've come....service can be slow and only one time it really sucked....which was actually because we came across a manager who thought his jokes were funny, they were actually rude and pretty stupid (which we let him know). Yesterday we had the California burger w/bacon and the Black and bleu burger, both were awesome! This is the best restaurant in Pacific Place without a doubt.

Godon Biersch is located on the top floor of the Pacific Place, next to the movie theater. They have a huge menu and offer lots of variety (but it's quantity over quality). The pricing is moderate for the quality you're getting. There is happy hour - decent deals but nothing to rush over for if you're not already in the area.

Went as a large group (like 11 people) during lunch. Pros: - Sandwich/burgers were good. I got the blackened mahi sandwich that game with garlic fries. The fish was cooked well and the sauce was tasty. Every sandwich/burger comes with garlic fries. - It was good that they were able to accommodate such a large party. Plus they were able to give us separate checks! Cons: - Even though the garlic fries were good when they were hot, it was way too salty. My coworker said the garlic was undercooked (it wasn't completely soft yet) but I liked it that way. It depends on your preference. - It took about half and hour before we received our food. I understood that they wanted to bring all the food out at once so it took a bit longer for everyone to get their food. When they did that, 2 of our friends didn't receive their burgers and we had to wait another 5 mins. I didn't really understand the logic of that.

Well, here is one place in the PNW NOT to get seafood! The bf met me for lunch here. I was on my lunch break and it took quite a bit for our server to come to our table so I ordered an appetizer and soup, things that wouldn't take so long to make. I ordered the lobster bisque and the calamari. The bisque was kinda runny. The calamari wasn't the most terrible I had ever had, but the batter wasn't crisp and it was a mess of rubber bands and batter falling off everywhere in the basket. I had managed to avoid this place my whole life and only came here cuz the bf had had a good meal here the week before. I don't blame him. What do you expect from a guy who can't eat cheese...

The food was cold and unappetizing. I wasn't feeling the drinks either. Been a while since I was this disappointed in eating out.

3 star price, service, and quality. Not my first choice, but not last either.

Solid place for a drink. Admittedly, I have never eaten there. Reading other reviews, it sounds like maybe that has been a smart thing :)

I have been to Gordon Biersch many times and generally find it to be an OK experience. I'm a very big fan of their hefeweizen. Most of their other beers I don't like at all, but that one is so good it doesn't matter! I don't like their healthy food options. They have a few listed on their menu, and none of them are that great. So whenever I come here, I never want to eat the healthy food options and want to eat the more delicious terrible for you options. This really prevents me from coming here at all most of the time. The food that is not good for you is usually pretty good. The crab and lobster macaroni and cheese, BBQ bacon burger, caesar salad, garlic fries, all good. But since I cannot justify eating that many calories when I go, normally I spend 20 minutes staring at the menu trying to figure out what to eat, just to end up with something I don't really want. If you do not care about nutrition I highly recommend! If you do, maybe go somewhere else.

Good consistent brew pub chain food wise. Gotta say though their Hef was a little on the sour side and glass not so clean(hence the three stars, a brewrery should be on top of their game when it comes to their own branded beer)and the mojito was pretty bad, ok amount of rum but very little mint and lime flavor.

Recall how 'cool' Gordon Biersch was when we went to one of their first California outlets years ago. Now, with excellent micro breweries found in ever-increasing numbers, GB has lost a bit of its uniqueness. It was a little sad to come to a locale embedded in a shopping mall. Still the food was decent, nothing bad but nothing out of the ordinary. The wheat beer I tried was decent, too. Not as good as what we had in Munich but better than the mass marketed mega brews. With all of the wonderful cafes and restaurants in Seattle, we were drawn to meet the needs of family we were traveling with. If our travels take us to Seattle again, we will be going somewhere else.

Go outside and seek and adventure! I always struggle to write reviews of restaurants like Gordon Biersch. There really is no theme or style. The food is Americana. On the other hand, there is nothing really wrong with GB. You are not going to have a great meal. You are not going to have a bad meal. If you are going to a movie or shopping at the mall, then this is probably your best bet. If you walk outside and turn left, or turn right, or walk straight ahead you will find better restaurants and an adventure. Don't be boring and middle-of-the-road! I expect more from you!

My partner and I had a very disappointing experience this afternoon. The restaurant was mostly empty. We were seated promptly. And then promptly forgotten. No water. No nothing. The tables around us were being cleared by a lady named Alta, who eventually became our server. It appeared that she was more interested in the non existent line of patrons waiting to come in. Eventually orders were taken and drinks served. And then we were forgotten again. Staff kept walking by the table but no one bothered to refill my iced tea. They did, however, clean the clean table next to ours three times. We got the German Kobe burger. There is no way it was 1/2 pound of beef as advertised. The flavor was ok - but it was not a $15 burger. The beef was cooked to my order. The grilled onions were skimpy. We did enjoy the garlic fries, however. Our server never came back to see how we enjoyed the food. The service improved dramatically when it was time for the check. I wish I would have eaten at Hard Rock. Or McDonalds.
