I went here for happy hour on a Friday with a couple of friends. Monarch Duo was playing and their music is wonderful! The only downside during my visit was the service. We were seated right away in the Musicquarium, but our server was slow to take our orders, then she wrote down our orders on a napkin, then she went away for a minute, then she came back and asked us again what we had ordered (she must have lost the napkin or spilled a drink on it). It took a really long time for our food and drinks to come so we went to the bar and ordered another drink to sip on while waiting for our order. The bartenders weren't friendly, but they weren't disrespectful either. I was given the wrong amount of change by $10, but it was figured out very quickly. The MANGO SUN is absolutely divine. It is the best cocktail I've had in my short history of drinking. It is flavorful with the right amount of alcohol. The other cocktails on their menu were not bad either. Our food finally came. Their happy hour food menu is sorted by $3, $4 and $5 plates. The food tasted great, but the portions were not so great. We ended up leaving the lounge and going to a nearby grocery store to get hot, greasy deli snacks to fill our appetites. I would check out their online music schedule beforehand to see which artists are playing, but I bet you won't be disappointed if you happen to just wander in any Friday. Triple Door is a great place to lounge around and enjoy spectacular drinks and fantastic music. Just don't come here expecting to fill your stomach!

I'm a very big fan of Wild Ginger and The Triple Door. The Triple Door has one of my favorite HHs. I love the cheap but fancy and tasty mixed drinks they have on special and I also like the black beer. The food is ALWAYS delicious, just like at the Ginger and excellent service too. I have also been to a show here. The seats are amazing. There isn't a bad one in the house. Great service, great food. Yum, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

I've continued to go to the Triple Door on Sunday nights for salsa dancing, and I have to say for me it's one of the better experiences in town. The music is always great, the atmosphere is hopping, and it's fun for dancing or people watching. One of the really cool things that I like about this place is that they give your card right back to you even when they keep your tab open. So, there's no danger of leaving your credit card behind. I love that touch. Where else does that happen? There was one guy who the women said was creepy on the dance floor tonight, but, that happens. It's a free country, and anyone can say no to dancing with the creepy ones. Baile! Baile! Baile!

Forget what you think you know about dinner theatre. This place is it! Plenty of options for groups, dates and just a great place to catch a good show and eat some delicious food. The stage is framed in what looks very similar to a gold filigree picture frame and is capable of hosting a plethora of performance types. I was there on Thursday for a performance by the Kinsey Sicks and arrived at 5:30pm for a show starting at 7pm. The seating is first come first served and we had a perfect view. Though I think one could be had from any seat in the house. Booths are reserved for parties of 4 or more but there are plenty of bar style seats to accommodate everyone. It was a perfect evening of food provided by the restaurant upstairs Wild Ginger. We shared the 7 Flavor Beef, Mandarin Chicken, The Fragrant Duck, Potstickers, Chicken Satay and another order of the Mandarin Chicken when our friend showed up. All of the food was incredibly flavorful and was a joy to eat. Oh, and we finished the meal with the Triple Split, a three scoop sundae with gelato from Gelatiamo across the street from the Triple Door. Amazing flavors like creme brulee and cappuccino complete with shaved almonds and fresh whipped cream. For a great dinner and show experience, this place is at the top of my list. Go to their website and pick a show, show up early, relax and enjoy.

We've been to the Triple Door a few times...but I always forget to write a review on it. It's one of the prettier venues I've been to - the ambiance is great, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The only suck factors are a) there's no parking and b) the food is friggin spendy and it shouldn't be. That's all.

This is a great venue for listening to live music while enjoying excellent food. Saw a soloist guitar player and ended up staying for quite a while -- Thai inspired dishes and good wine.

I saw Sera Cahoone and Grand Archives at The Triple Door a couple years ago...what an awesome concert experience! No standing cramped in overheated venue here. Rather, you're seated comfortably at a table with a great view of the stage with table service providing quality drinks and delectable Wild Ginger cuisine. Just this past Friday I was at The Triple Door for happy hour only, and my rave review of the place was upheld. Prompt service and very generous portions of nicely cooked and presented food from the HH line-up. Chicken satay was tender and flavorful, accompanied by peanut sauce, a cute little cube o' rice, and sassy cucumber pickles. The salt and pepper squid was also a hit...lightly battered and hardly greasy. Do try the "piquant dipping sauce" as it brightens up each bite with a little tang and heat. Live music started playing while we were enjoying our happy hour, and really the only con I can give is that it's awfully dark down in there even on a sunny day. For that quintessential loungey feel with some sensational snacks, though, Triple Door is a great HH choice.

I have been coming to the Triple Door for a couple years. I love this place, and have recommended it on a number of occasions. The staff is friendly and personable, atmosphere chill, yet welcoming. Live music is both common and exceptional. This place is a must visit for anyone who is heading out and wants to have an exceptional time. On a personal note, I have become such a "regular" there that the staff knows me by name. I miss those guys (I moved to Texas earlier this year), and I wish that two of the most amazing bartenders (Byron and Tommy) were still there.

I have attending concerts, shows, corporate events at this venue and have been consistently impressed. The acoustics are wonderful; the service was always fast and unobtrusive; the food has always been stellar and flavorful. The venue treat speakers/artists wonderfully and the Green Room is comfortable and functional. Note: service in Musicquarium Lounge was not as good as the stage area. The bartenders were not as responsive and alert. This could be a staffing issue based on number of patrons in the venue. Bonus = Happy Hour at Musicquarium! Great prices for yummy food and drinks!

Well, the Front Desk Hostess was very nice, asking if we had ever been and telling us a little about what to expect. I was hoping for an awesome seat as I had reserved a private booth..... but it wasn't that comfortable, strangely enough. The seats are kind of shallow, (no I'm not fat:)). We couldn't see that well over the tall guy at the "bar top" in front of us....... Food: will we had high expectations from Wild Ginger.......but it's obvious that it's all pre-prepared, bummer. Nothing was that hot temperature wise, as I expected......OK, the Panko Prawns are the best thing on the Menu, they were made to order, for sure. The Green Curry Chicken and the Duck "Sliders" were just average, and the Green Beans.....also pre-cooked, not hot and crispy like I was expecting. I guess they can't manage it any other way, but the prices certainly don't reflect the lower staffing costs due to all the pre-cooking. The service was spotty. Our first waiter disappeared, and the busser said that they sometimes send staff home if it's not that busy......always a mistake in my book, as an $8.00 an hour waiter can make a huge difference in Service, and the savings just ain't that much for the house. Our next server just wasn't around enough for our liking, oh the food came almost immediately after ordering but there wasn't the personal touch on service. Everyone brings food and you never really connect with your one server. Overall, I though the food would be better, the show was great!

I really will see anything at the Triple Door, from a drag queen who sings Joni Mitchell covers to Iron and Wine's Sam Beam. If you're a fan of the band playing, the atmosphere is one of the most intimate venues you'll ever get to see them at. All the girls in my party cried at the Sam Beam show! And if you're not necessarily a fan (yet) of the band playing, you'll enjoy cocktails and delicious food, and probably become a fan of the band during the show. 4 stars cause the Musiquarium isn't as great, although it's so close to my work - I've been known to get a happy hour or two there!

All I can say is, I've been fifteen minutes late for my reservation both times, called ahead to let them know, and both times I have gotten excellent, close tables regardless. With this type of service, I really cannot recommend another sit-down music venue: Triple Door is top-notch. My first time here I saw Taken by Trees w/ Perro del Mar, and most recently, Grand Hallway w/ Seattle Rock Orchestra. The sound at the Triple Door is amazing and intimate, even way up close and to the left or right, so I can recommend you buying into some tickets here. Now, I must admit, my name is Aaron, and I have a problem. Whenever I have a menu in front of me, I really cannot abstain from ordering a drink or food item. I know, I know, I paid for the ticket in, so I shouldn't need to buy food or drinks. I KNOW! I know I ate dinner and dessert thirty minutes ago! But it is a "Sparkling Mango Mojito!" Do you know what that is? I sure don't, but it sounds like something delicious. With rum. And mango. And mint. How can it go wrong? It cannot. It was delicious. And paired with good desserts, their menu leaves my wallet devastated. So come to the Triple Door, see a great show, but don't expect to not feel like you got mugged the next day. At least it was worth it, unlike so many other Belltown/downtown encounters...

Juana Molina came to Seattle and delighted a joyous crowd. Her music sounded beautiful at the Triple Door. She was funny and witty. Her music is so original it's very hard to define. Deep inside one knows what it is but words aren't enough to label it. I was able to enjoy her Seattle performance in the company of my adorable boyfriend, three spectacular Yelpers and a very nice +1. It was a spontaneous night of great new friendships, lots of Spanish speaking, and laughter and amazement compliments of life parallelisms and wonderful music. Our first time at The Triple Door was quite lovely, an evening of reconciliation with music venues in Seattle. The atmosphere is swanky but classic. The seating is perfect: everyone will always have a great seat (we had one of the best in the house, front row booth). The sound is excellent, warming and not too loud. Don't get me wrong, though. This city has fairly good show venues, but there is always some stress involved in going to see a band you love. Call it dealing with hordes or splashes of beer, whisky or some other libations. Or having to be content with glimpses of this and that, being surrounded by 6ft tall people when you are barely halfway the 5ft tall land. Sometimes, it can become a physically dangerous experience as well (last Wolf Parade at Neumos, for example). Overall, I'm always a bit apprehensive when doing one of the things I love the most in life: being able to listen to live performances of my favorite musicians. That is why The Triple Door comes across as a five star experience provider. I have to say it almost hurts to knock down a star, but I can't get over the fact that it is a VERY expensive place. $16 for a single glass of 6oz of wine is outrageous. The food is borderline exorbitant. I was expecting it to be mind blowing as I heard many good things about it, but it was only plain good. Service was pristine, personal and fun at times. From the valet parking guys to our server at the table, everyone was wonderful and always eager to provide us with the best experience possible. This was an unforgettable night of dazzling music and wonderful company, filled with little perfect moments, like when Juana Molina jammed by herself on stage, and we all looked at each other smiling.

As a music venue The Triple Door rates 5 stars. It's a wonderful place to attend a show. Stage, seating, acoustics are superb. As far as food service at shows, it needs improvement. In the dozen plus times I've been here, the service is pretty spotty. You'd think they would have this fine tuned by now but it isn't. You are greeted everytime by "welcome to the Triple Door, have you been here before?" Service starts out fine, in fact they are too attentive, not giving you anytime to ponder the menu. You order, your appetizer comes, but the food order appears to be lost and doesn't show for over 30 minutes. Our server is nowhere to be seen. I understand the kitchen is slammed with all the orders but you are paying top dollar for a night out. Wild Ginger food quality is great, wine is very overpriced. Lounge is popular and loud.

The Triple Door was a triple treat: wonderful surroundings, sensual music and the company of four awesome yelpers and a BFF. This was my first evening there and it left quite an impression on me. The host and wait staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive. The theater itself is a beautiful, intimate setting where every seat has a good view of the stage. This left us able to focus on a thrilling ride on the musical journey with Juana Molina. The 3D has a pretty amazing wine list, but also amazingly expensive. The food, while decent, is nothing spectacular. Both of these combined are what resulted in bringing a five-star experience down to four. Set your expectations to focus on a great musical evening, and be prepared to spend triple $$$ at the Triple Door. This is a classy, upscale venue and I think it's worth the occasional splurge.

Sitting on comfortable seats, with bar/wait service makes a REALLY big difference in comfort over a two to three hour period. Maybe I'm just getting old. The acoustics were impeccable, as was the view to the stage. Just awesome. The ticket price was sixteen dollars. Oh, make that eighteen dollars, forgot the 'convenience' charge. (Thanks for introducing that little scam, Ticketbastard. At least you didn't get the loot this time, since I paid the venue directly.) Anyway...a good value for a Friday night performance of Chicago blues legend Magic Slim. The food at Wild Ginger is good, but nothing I would go out of my way for. I ordered the panang beef for 18.50. You could get just as good Thai cuisine for less elsewhere. I enjoyed their ginsing margerita, and for $8.50, the price was fair. It's nice to be comfortable, but I think this comes at a price. The atmosphere was SO laid-back, that Magic just couldn't get the audience worked up, even with blistering solos on his les paul that sounded like a cross between BB King and Jimmy Page. He just kept asking, "you're all so quiet....is everybody feelin' good?'. Perhaps it was just the age of the crowd, maybe that the house was only half full. Dunno. Needless to say, there was no encore. A couple more things...get there early, since the seating is first come, first serve. I would recommend eating your meal during the wait, otherwise, prepare for serious boredom, as there is no pre-concert entertainment. Why anyone would opt for the deluxe suites is beyond me, since they are behind glass and farther from the stage. Privacy, I suppose. I enjoyed this venue and will be back.

Love the Musicquarium as well as the stage shows. But the Musicquariam bar is nice because it has smaller musical talents that perform, yet still serves good Wild Ginger food along with their drinks. I really like the seafood noodles (though they could be spiced up more), duck and the siam lettuce cups. We found the stuffed shiitake mushrooms to be lacking. Overall, they need to up the spice, but then maybe I need to order it that way since nobody asks how spicy do you like it.

I LOVE the Triple Door! The happy hour in the bar/lounge is cheap and tasty. My favorite part is the mainstage. I think it's the best, most intimate music venue in town and I jump at any chance I get to go see a show there! Why not grab dinner and drinks at Wild Ginger upstairs, go down to be seated at the Triple Door mainstage, order a delicious Mango Daquiri and dessert from your server and enjoy the show? We've done this many times before and it's always one of my favorite nights!

Every time I go the Triple Door I vow to come see more shows here...and then I forget until the next time. How awesome is it to be able to sit down and have drinks & food brought to you during a show? Pretty f'ing awesome. Also, the drinks are delish and the food is always fantastic since it comes from WG upstairs. The sound is perfect, the atmosphere is great, and last time we were seated right next to the stage so I was near my most beloved Fountains of Wayne member, Adam. :) Sure, I couldn't see the drummer, but that's okay! I saw everyone else... This place is going to cost you a little more than other venues - but I'd rather shell out $25-$30 for a show here than a standing room only space at The Showbox. Just be prepared to cough up around $60 total if you want food + drink! It's definitely worth the splurge every once in awhile.

There are too many things good to say about the theater at the Triple Door - but the fact that you can get Wild Ginger's food while watching a super good show. I especially liked watching Dita Von Tesse there last spring. Wow, made me wish i had my own larger than life martini glass to dance in. Looked fun! I would highly recommend this venue for a date - the fact that you can have dinner and watch a great show at once is exceptional. The location is convenient to other restaurants, parking, hotels, etc. Wish the venue did a little better advertising so I heard about the shows before they sold out, but I suppose that is mostly the producer's issue, or mine for not reading the newspaper more often.

Definitely try the scallops. The music is chill. Just make sure you take a flashlight or something because it's difficult to read the menu with just a tiny candle at the table.

I figured that my first review as a new Yelper should be somewhere good. I love this venue, its lighting, artwork, and atmosphere... I even love the bathrooms. Potentially my favorite potties in Seattle. The food is excellent, love the Asian fusion. Love drinking at live shows. Beer and live music is like celery and peanut butter - it just makes the celery taste a whole hell of a lot better. Yet I've struggled with the whole concept of eating 7 flavor beef while trying to give the artists my attention. I love going to shows, and part of what I love is the standing for extended periods of time in anticipation of the band you love taking stage. And after they do, I love the fact that my knees ache afterward. Here, I find it difficult to concentrate on what was happening on stage, while I scoop double dunk spring rolls, hoping my date doesn't notice. Maybe my multi-tasking needs work. Maybe coming to the Triple Door more often is good practice. All in all, the Triple Door is a unique place to have dinner or drink beers, see comedy or watch a live show, or maybe do all at the same time - but only if you are coordinated enough. I'm still working on that one.

I'm a fan. Kind of begrudgingly so, but I am. Disclaimer: I spent a lot of money. The Triple Door is a nice place. So night that it left me wanting to have my girlfriend there, with me. It's... romantic, I guess. You're well taken care of, the food is good, the sound is fantastic, and it really is a great looking place. I look forward to going back, but it'll really have to be for a favorite musician or show because I really couldn't afford to go otherwise. Thanks, Triple Door, for being the setting for a fantastic Juana Molina show.

What a great venue! I've been here a couple of times, most recently was to see the amazing Dita Von Teese and I have to say there isn't a bad seat in the house. The food (from Wild Ginger above) is tasty and drinks are good. The wait staff knows how to balance available without distracting from the shows. One tip is the seating is sort of a first come first serve based on check in time so you may want to make sure you get there early if you want the spots up front.

I still haven't managed to see a show here, but it's an alright place for a post-work beverage. The food comes down from on high from Wild Ginger, so I've read and been told, which clears up a little of the mystery. I haven't been back to Wild Ginger since my first night in Seattle, but I remember it as being a lot more interesting than the rather bland chow they threw down when I came to Triple Door for happy hour. Maybe I was just in the incorrect mood this time. I'm sure I'll be back for a preflight before a show sometime, so they'll have another shot to win me over. Nice cocktails here though. That's a big plus. I'll need to come early to make happy hour though to make it worthwhile. It's also a nice trick to close the nearby parking ramps at strangely early hours and charge you $20 for the privilege of locking your car in the ramp, so keep it in mind when finding your parking solution down here.

We have been at the Triple Door on a few occassions. And even had an "off" night there however instead of yelping it in detail, I decided to contact the Manager and explain what happened. Some Business say they stand behind their services, others really do. We were asked to give it another shot, and we did. And we were convinced that we truly did have an off night because seriously nothing could have been added (other then meeting Jon Anderson in person) that could have made this experience more wonderful. And that is what an evening at the Triple Door is, an experience. So here is the breakdown: Venue: Not a bad seat in the house unless you have obnoxious neighbors...but the music, drinks etc make up for those Drinks: Impressive wine and even beer selection, but the mixed drinks are fantastic. I was very pleasantly surprised Accoustic: Always on the money! Food: 95% spot on. Out of 5+ visits, one not so great experience. I will chuck it off to chef having an off night, we all have those Service: the servers realize that this is usually an evening out and that they are there to make your night even better..as with any establishment you have good servers and great servers...most of them are fantastic Management: ABOVE AND BEYOND! just the way it should be. Out of all of Seattle's venues this is by far my favorite. Sorry Jazz Alley.. now get some more of my favorite artists in so I have a reason to go :-) My only major complaint is not with the TD or their staff but with the patronage who at times think they are at an outdoor hoedown..this is a gorgeous venue...try to blend in, dress up a little. a ripped t shirt and holy shorts are not the way to go. Just saying

After the night spent listening to a favorite local band concert and that many Kiwi-Smashes consumed, I forgive you the last experience! On a more serious note, this is my favorite music venue in Seattle for the type of music you don't want to jump out of your seat and dance. I love the way the seating is planned here - there is no bad angle for the stage. The booths are half moon shaped and rather large, so you might be sharing it with some strangers, but people who come to Triple Door don't smell bad. There are non-booth seating options available as well. If there are two shows in a row, the seating is pre-assigned for the later show, and the earlier you get your tickets the closer you sit to the stage. Also, if you are running late and give Triple Door a call, they will keep your seats. It is possible to dine during the show, (which actually is a pet-peeve of mine - I don't like to smell curry when I am listening to a live performance), but amazingly you barely notice the presence of the waiters, when they come bearing dinners.

I'm not a negative Nancy when it comes to yelp, and I had a good time here -- food was good, drinks were good and the place was fun to be in (good music, etc). Three things that bothered me: 1. TURN ON THE AC - seriously, it's 85 degrees outside, it was practically cooler outside than in 2. Provide COLD beer. 3. Have the kitchen workers wash their hands or cook the food more thoroughly (I had "issues" later that night, and I'm talking about the bathroom sort) Otherwise, it was pretty good and our server was friendly, even with my asshole coworkers bitching about the beer and food. Cheers!

Love the intimate atmosphere! I just saw Keli'i Kaneali'i there last night and he's a phenomenal Hawaiian singer. We arrived early and got a booth that was dead center and just a few rows back. The acoustics were amazing! Plus, he stuck around after signing CDs and posters and talked story with us. I hope he comes back soon! The only downsize to the evening was that our waitress must have assumed she wouldn't get a big tip since we didn't order food right away. It was near impossible to flag her down and she seemed more preoccupied with clearing our plates than letting us order food and drinks. Thankfully the sommelier was fantastic and did a great job! I had the Buddha rolls, which were okay. 3 for $8 isn't a great deal, but expected at such a great venue. I also had the seafood thai noodles which were okay. Not a lot of flavor and not a lot of seafood. I liked that they had small and large plates to choose from.

There's really only one thing I need to say to you about the Triple Door: If a performer you are interested in seeing (even remotely!) is going to be at the Triple Door, GO. See for yourself. I cannot see how you could be disappointed. There is not a single bad seat in the house. Even the furthest back is probably better then some of the best seats in most other places. By "good seat" I mean: The acoustics are good and the view is good. Additionally, the seats are at tables, upon which drinks will be delivered to you with regularity, and also, food, if you wish. The first time I saw a show here, I was sitting all the way in the back, and I didn't mind one bit. I still felt close enough, and was very comfortable. The last time I saw a show here, I had an amazing table quite near the front. I could have easily spit and hit the stage (not that I would, DUH). It is just FABULOUS to go to a show and for the same price as you would pay to (not) see a band at the Showbox (whilst being jostled and waiting in an endless line for a drink) you can sit in a comfy seat at a nice table and be served drinks and food. I like going to shows in clubs and bars and jumping around and dancing, but my feet love resting under the table while my eyes gaze adoringly at the musicians on stage. And mostly, my feet love not being stepped on by big galoots, and my eyes love that they can even see the stage. Also! The Triple Door is currently running a special called "The New Deal" in which, Monday thru Friday from 9pm on, all the drinks are 33% off! I thought that this applied only in the lounge, but when we received the bill at our table just prior to the end of the show, it was MUCH too low to have been full price - $33 for three people? Two of those people had at least 3 beers each and the third had at least three cocktails? So, it is really amazing that they have that great a deal during the shows, too! My only regret is that I have not yet tried the food. I wanted to this last time, but alas, we were invited to dinner and ate beforehand.

So these two Catholics from Nashville walk into a karaoke bar in Seattle..... Should have been a bad joke - but we actually had a blast. We went to dinner at Wild Ginger and then casually walked into Triple Door for a drink. Make that 5. We had a great time watching you Seattlites try your hand at singing "Redneck Woman" and "Black Velvet". We then laughed at the drunk girl in the short red dress flash everyone in the bar her nude thong. Ahhh, felt just like home.

I visited The Triple Door on the evening of the 16th. It was a saturday night and there was a live band. If it were not for that awful band, I would have given The Triple Door a rating of 5 stars. Everything about Triple Door is awesome. The interior is cool, the food is prepared in the shared kitchen with Wild Ginger (upstairs), and the wait staff are well-selected. I don't know many bars which offer such excellent atmosphere and courteous staff in Seattle. Keep up the great work, Triple Door!

I breezed through several reviews and see there is some confusion on what is being reviewed so I'd like to start this out by clarifying that I'm reviewing just the venue, acoustics, and service we experienced. The Triple Door has (at least) three aspects to it 1) Musicquarium, downstairs 2) Main stage, upstairs 3) Restaurant In this review I'm only relaying my experience at the Musicquarium and bar service because that is all we tried when we went to see Dave Soto & the Heartbreakers / Squirrel Nut Zippers Dec 28, 2009. I am not reviewing any bands or their performance as it is my interpretation that when readers arrive here they want to know what the facility has to offer. Upon approaching the ticket taker, I really liked the layout of the place as I peered in from the entranceway. After taking our tickets, we were assigned a greeter to seat us. She then informed us where the bathrooms were and when things would happen. I found this very helpful and felt like I was almost in someone's home. Upon being seated we immediately had water and a food server approach us. Since we had booked the 10PM show, we had already eaten. Within moments the Sommelier then arrived and asked if we wanted anything to drink. He offered a nice selection and we chose a lower priced bubbly. Periodically following, the waiters would come around and I found it polite tghat they were not pushy, but still available. Soon after , the show started and I really enjoyed the acoustics of both the warm up band and the main feature. As the event concluded,we looked at each other and agreed that between the staff, the price point and the sonic ability of the venue, that this was an exceptionally nice experience where the staff did all they could to make it a great time and that we would really enjoy returning to for future events. I look forward to eating and seeing something on teh main stage, hope it lives up to our first visit

We had a great time seeing Hurt last night! Neither of us had been to the triple door before, but we were blown away! Great vibe! Reminds me of the vintage entertainment lounges where you are in an intimate setting, sitting comfortably at tables/booths, with amazing food and drinks! We will definetly be going back!! My only complaint is that there was a photographer all over the stage, getting up in their business and being super distracting. I also just felt that that was really disrespectful to the band as well as to those who paid to see them.

This was my first time going to the Triple Door and i was very excited because my FAVORITE artist was playing (Federico Aubele). I had purchased a front row ticket for only $20 which i also found to be quite pleasing. When i arrived on the night of the show i pleasantly greeted and taken to my seat. When we walked into the room there i saw many intimate booths with candles beaming and people chattering. I could smell delicious food circulating in the air .. it was a nice surprise because i didn't know they served food. When i sat down at my seat in the first row i became overjoyed with excitement with how close i was to the stage. The first row is literally a row of seats with place settings. There are glass bottles of water, place settings and candles spread out evenly for everyone. I ordered a Mango Dauqiri and sat back into my chair with excitement. The waitress who served me was helpful and friendly. There were a couple times where she wasn't as prompt as she could have been, but it really didn't bother me because i was distracted and she made up for it with her accomodating nature. I left the show feeling really good and excited to come back. special notes: This is a GREAT place for a date, low lighting, romantic seat settings, food and etc. The front row is really great for if you want to go alone like i did, however if you are planning to see an artist/band that you know plays really loud music and you are sensitive to that i would suggest not sitting here. I left with a slight headache, but it was still well worth it. Also, in the front row the stage isn't too high up from where your sitting so if your worried about having to arch your head upwards the whole time don't be

Went there last night to see Crooked Still, the concert, stage and seats were all awesome, no complains there. The staff was very nice, I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. I would love to go back to see another show but next time we will try to get te cheaper seats that don't come with the $40 paid in advance credit for food and drinks. The bad reviews about the food are all true, I was highly disappointed, it tasted like any food you can get for half the price at a neighborhood chinese restaurant. I had the Angkor (sp?) Wat chicken and even though it had a nice flavor it had more onions and peppers than chicken, my husband had the 7 spice steak, I tried it an was unimpressed. The peasant chicken satays were good but then again 2 for $6.50 is a little expensive and the peanut sauce was cold as well as the rice squares. We finised our meal with the cheese platter...what a joke! $15 will buy you 2 tiny squares of some white cheeses, a smear of stinky cheese, 3 slices of hard tiny bread, some slices of waffer like crackers, a handful of tasty cinnamon pecans and a tiny cup of dates and raisins. Now we know, skip the booth seats, eat somewhere else and just get a beer or two at the Triple Door. All the seats are good in this place, I gave it 3 stars only because I felt ripped off by the food especially in today's economy businesses shouldn't get away with things like this.

We came here tonight for a comedy show, met some friends who got their early and got us, literally, one of the two best tables in the house, right in the front center, great seats. I didn't eat anything (from upstairs) but my bestfriend did and she claimed it was good. We had some issues with ordering the beers we ordered, they brought us three for the one we ordered, at one point, a bit weird and confusing and showed a lack of communication on the staff's part, but not awful. Overall it was a nice place. Facilities were nice and clean. Staff was generally friendly and helpful. We'd go again for another show, definitely.

C L A S S Y. I went here for the Christmas Holiday Round concert last night. Me and my date got there an hour early, so we had excellent seats near the front of the stage (although, really, there's no bad seat in the house). We had drinks and dessert at the show - the Japanese pumpkin custard was unimpressive, but the gelatto split was delicious. I would definitely catch another show there again.

This is a brilliant venue. The dining and music experience is great, the food's excellent (not too pricey) and the waiter we had really knew his wine too which lead to a couple of really nice bottles being bought :D As a music venue the acoustics were really good, the ambience was intimate and relaxed, the view was perfect and the show (Joan As Policewoman) was personable and fun! I was visiting from Britain, I just wish we had more venues like this, it's a gem.

After searching for something to do, we ended up catching a Nut Cracker Burlesque show at the infamous Triple Door. Now we had a little history lesson while we acquired a free box suite, ha! The place dates back to the 1920's and since then it has been a few things, most notably a live peep show in the 70's. That didn't make us feel to creepy sitting in the sound proof boxes overlooking almost naked ladies, but the show must go on!!! The place apparently looks very similar to what it looked like when it was built and that is to say it looks very classy, a tribute to it's roots. We didn't have much food aside from appetizers, so I'm not sure what it's like although the appetizers were great and very affordable. The show was great, not much else to say. I do want to recommend staying after a show and hanging out with the cast. It was a blast to mingle with the actors, most still in their classic 30's era threads. I'm very glad to have hung around, unlike most the audience, and get a feel for burlesque actors, dancers, whatever they are....

Please try the ***ZENTINI***. Seriously, it's the most amazing drink EVER. I've been tryin' to find it anywhere in Chicago...and no one knows about the green tea liquor. Great music, laid-back atmosphere. Next time I'm in Seattle, I'm def heading over there. ;)

This is by far my favorite place in Seattle to see a show. The sound is perfect, the food is awesome, the seating is set up in a way that you don't ever have some giant head in your way and even sitting all the way in the back, you still get a good view! I only wish all of my favorite bands played here!

Steamy Hot and it wasn't the food or the service. I'll try to make this a short and to the point instead of boring you with the details. Food - fair nothing to write home about but over done shrimp and a burnt taste to the coating is not my idea of good. The meat was salty I thought they were trying preserve it not serve it. 2 stars Service - while overall seemed nice but no effort was really made when my appetizer was at least 20 to 30 minutes later than everyone else in my group. 2 stars for the below than average effort to make a customer happy Venue - Cool really good seating at least in the booth we were in. hard to say about the other seats but in general good. 4 stars Show: OK I did not know that this was going to be on the steamy side. Overall the interpretation of the Nutcracker was really cool and different. OK so the girls in g strings and pasties helped but that aside it was a good performance . 4 Stars Bottom Line: I would go back again but I would eat dinner some where else and just order drinks

I guess I'm a fan because I feel the venue is worthy of more than three stars but I have to say that I just don't *feel* the Triple Door as much as I *feel* Jazz Alley. I feel more distant and removed from the performer here, more like a voyeur, whereas at Jazz Alley I feel a more intimate connection with the performer. As for the food, I've taken to dining at home or elsewhere before the show. I always order wine so can't comment on the cocktails.

This was my second time at The Triple Door and I loooooove this place. It defintely has to be one of the best places to see a concert. The arrangement of the seats and booths make every seat a good one. The acoustics are great and Shawn Colvin sounded amazing. The menu is courtesy of Wild Ginger and our selections this time went over alot better than the first time. Angkor Wat Chicken, Panang Beef Curry, Chicken Fried Rice, Poet's Leap Riesling and Molten Chocolate Lava Cake were ALL very good. We will definitely order them again. I absolutely adore this place! If you want to watch a performance and enjoy a nice meal at the same time, this is the venue for you! The food comes from Wild Ginger so anything on the menu pretty much rocks! For a music venue, the acoustics are great. Most seats in the house have a decent view of the stage. Although, I do highly recommend avoiding any seats in the front side areas because you won't get a clear view of the whole stage. I made the mistake of reserving a seat here at the last show I went to and it kinda sucked.

if i was a cat this place would make me purr every time i walked in that door. they get it and mastered it: - great venue - great music - great drinks - great food - great service you have 2 options at the triple door, the Mainstage or the lounge, Musicquarium. the mainstage room has the seating area all facing the stage in a booth row style which i just love. it brings back that classic style of going out to a show and sitting down comfortably - and i feel like i'm rolling like marilyn monroe. the Musicquarium usually has free live music in their lounge! i walked in one night and couples were dancing near the singers. what better way to wine down from a hard day by listening to some live music in dark lighting. they have a large list of drinks, their signatures cocktails, large wine menu, beer, and even pots of tea. definitely would recommend for a date, someone visiting, or just to chill one day and wind down.

Wow. This lounge has the class and sophistication of both an old playhouse and a speakeasy. There are waves of crescent-shaped booths that face the front. The atmosphere is intimate and majestic, but not necessarily posh at all. The service is friendly, although, in my experience, not entirely swift. The prices on drinks and food is moderately steep and I can only imagine how much tickets would cost to see a show if you actually wanted to sit. I didn't order any food but shared some dessert that was less than satisfying. There is not a whole lot of standing room for those who just came for a show, but it is difficult not to enjoy being there anyway. It is not the greatest place to rock out to your favorite bands but at the same time it is a neat place to see them play if you can afford it.

Food from (or at least inspired by) Wild Ginger restaurant upstairs. It's good, but not great and certainly not worth the prices. Eat somewhere else (how about home?) and go here for shows. The Triple Door has outstanding acoustics and very comfortable seating. They book shows you want to see in a sit-down venue, so you don't feel like an idiot for sitting through something rocking. The bartenders know what they're doing. Order a drink and tip extra--you saved on dinner because of this review.

Love the Triple Door. Not a bad seat in the house, and there will be an usher to take you and your friends to that not-bad seat. Classy, yo. Lack of a mosh-pit environment means they have to make money somehow; the food/drinks are good enough that I don't mind doing the whole evening there. Apparently there is a garage just West on 2nd that has discounted parking with validation; it is really bus-convenient, though.

Overall this seems to get good reviews, but i'm basing my review on my experience. The food that I had was pretty much thai food. My papaya salad wasn't really fresh. The Chicken skewer was not all that great. Being that this place is supposed to be a fusion, I understand that it's not a thai restaurant. Raised as a Thai American, i feel that the food that be improved. My order: Chicken Skewer Papaya Salad tocatoca? (i know i'm killing the spelling on this) My selection was pretty limited and if i had more i may raise the star rating.

I love, love, love this venue. I went to see Dunan Sheik and Rufus Wainwright here and I love that I can go here and not have people elbow me and the music is lush and beautiful in such an intimate space. I would take off one star since I did not like the Crab cakes there but then again, I am here to see cool people playing music as opposed to a hangout, which you can head to the lounge upstairs.

This is my favorite Jazz place in Seattle. I love the venue, love the atmosphere, love the service--but especially love the acts they bring here--as we've seen everything from jazz to acoustic guitar to artists like Tina Dico (from Zero 7). Food is pricey--we usually just have drinks there. This is also a first come, first serve place, so get there early (even if you're not eating dinner there, go as if you were)--and beware, if there are just two of you, they will likely seat you at two chairs right between two other couples--that you'll be touching elbows with. I typically can't stand places like that--but this place is definitely worth it. For the best experience, definitely go with a group of at least 6 and reserve a booth. If you want a musical experience without all the prices, check out their lounge --Musicquarium--as there's never a cover and they always have the best bands (free Salsa dancing on Sunday nights). Definitely a place not to miss in Seattle.

Rolled on over here after dinner to try and meet up with other friends for drinks. The laid back vibe and R&B, soul, funk, jazz music was a large draw. There is mostly a large area for drinking and listening to music as well as small tables/booths for those who want to eat, enjoy the music, and have a private conversation (i.e date place!!!). The bar is ovular in shape and the bartenders move around it to make sure that everyone is attended to. The drinks are fairly cheap around $6.00 plus for one well drink. This is much lower than the likes of The War Room. The lighting and ambiance is very cool and chill. Although the music is slightly loud, you can still hear the person that you are conversing with. Also, they don't scrimp on alcohol here. After 2 drinks we were all pretty buzzed. You have to absolutely love that. The only peeve that I had was that the waitress/cleaning person cleaned and cleared the table while we were still there, even though the lounge wasn't closing any time soon. Yes, the music was done for the night, but there was still an hour until closing time and more than half of the patrons had left. Despite this, I am definitely returning to this place as a cool hang out.

BEWARE of the "new" policy regarding reserving a booth at the Triple Door. For the Vicki Martinez concert on Friday, we had to pay $40 per person for a non-refundable food and wine credit in order to reserve a booth. That did NOT include the price of the ticket for the actual event. Since the booths are tiny, don't bother reserving, just sit at the counter-like tables. The food portions are extremely small - what they called a cheese" platter" had 3 pieces of cheese, some sliced apple a few crackers and puny breadsticks ran $13. The sound system is good and it's nice to be so close to the artists, but I won't be hurrying back.

Yeah, the only time we ever go to the Triple Door is when we're going to see something at Benaroya. It's pricey and dark. I mean there are worse bars for sure, hell, my boyfriend and I went on our first date there...but don't make it a destination, just a drink or two will do ya

Started going there when they opened...really gorgeous theater and nice bar. One particular bartender NEVER wanted to serve me, why? I have no idea (he'd serve my husband and ignore me on more than one visit) BUT he is gone now so it's all good (smile). The food is fine too.

  • Dylan A.

Classy. That's probably the best word for this place. It's a converted 1920's theater, and the interior design preserves some of the detailing from that past, but updates the layout of the main floor with a very modern, well though out design. Tiers of curved counters are the main form of seating, giving each row an unobstructed view of the stage, and also helping to separate each pair of chairs from it's neighbor. The sound is excellent, the service is quick, and the food isn't bad (though certainly not great). A great stop when you want that upscale experience. And don't worry, it's still pretty reasonably priced.

we stumbled upon this place on our first night in seattle. a bit of a random crowd, but what do you expect on a wednesday night. drinks were reasonable. they had a live band playing that night with a rasta vibe...felt like we should have been smoking some herbal refreshments. definitely a chill spot.

This is a great venue! I went to an office party here and my only gripe is that the bloody mary's were not good. They did exchange it for a different drink though so bonus points there.

Yes, they really have a musicquarium and it's so cool! Ok, ok, it's just a massive aquarium (there are no singing fish) at the entrance of the Musicquarium Lounge, but the wraparound bar and mountain of alcohol center stage make for a very inviting place to kick back with a drink and chill with a friend. The DJ on the Monday night we were there was spinning such great tunes that it was a bummer when things wrapped up before 2AM.

My first time to the Triple Door last night for the Children of the Revolution concert and I was very impressed both with the venue and the concert!! I really liked their seating arrangements- our table was a few rows back from the stage, but we still had an unobstructed view of the stage except for the idiot couple sitting at next table who insisted dancing in front of our table. My mango mojito was yummy. Food was pretty good, too.

The Triple Door has a kind of weird vibe. I can't tell if I like it or if it creeps me out. The clientel seems a little bit older and I haven't decided if they're creepy or not. I think that depending on the night the music can be quite good- even classy. Try dinner at Wild Ginger beforehand.

I have been to the Triple Door 5 or 6 times. The most recent for the new years early show. Every seat we have had has been wonderful as I am not sure there is a bad seat in the venue. I perfer to eat somewhere else as the food choices aren't always to my tastes. There is always an affordable choice for a bottle of wine which is a plus. Great acoustics and it is great place to experience music.

Hum ho. Triple Door promises chic, and you get it. Overpriced and uppity service. If a great musician shows up on the play list I'd go back again, but I would eat and drink beforehand. Be sure to get there early and reserve a group table if you with more than a party of six.

nice, very nice. But way too expensive. We went for just appetizers and drinks, two people, two drinks two apps. and the bill was nearly 70.00 yikes! The salt and pepper squid and lettuce cups were delicious and the limelight cocktail perfect. Just too pricey for me.

The Triple Door is a fantastic venue for live music that brings in great acts and delivers an evening of entertainment as well as an experience you won't soon forget. Things are still personal at this small venue, and you will be treated like a VIP at every possible opportunity. The service is exceptional, with everyone you meet being gracious and aware that you are at the Triple Door to have a good time. It is worth the extra effort and time to arrive early so as to get the best seats...as the bar is inviting and great place to relax and adjust to the atmosphere. Once seated, you can't believe the sight lines to the stage, the comfortable seating, the understated but sophisticated decor. Full dining and bar service is available, and is exceptional, as your every need will be met with the least amount of intrusion or interruption to your musical experience. Finally, when you do focus on the music, it won't get much better. You can dance in the aisles and not block the view of those who are seated behind you....and you will be blown away by the quality of sound, the exceptional lighting, and the overall ambiance that is unique to the Triple Door.

Erik T and I were here last night to see the lovely Dita Von Teese. Having never been to the Triple Door, I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say, we were both impressed. We got there early, around 8:30pm and they said we could hang out in the lounge before they began seating for the show. That's all we did. The lounge was pretty busy, an eclectic crowd to say the least. There was a jazz band that seemed pretty generic, but whatever, I didn't come to see the generic jazz band. We patiently stood by (there were no available seats, and we weren't interested in partaking in drinks quite yet) and waited till about 9:15 to be seated in the Mainstage area. I'm not sure how they seat people, other than party size, but Erik and I had FABULOUS seats. We were towards the very front, a little to the left. I was really excited! Erik and I were both thirsty and when we first arrived we decided we both really wanted a glass of water. Whaddya know, there was a glass carafe of water waiting for us at our table. We were taken to our seats and immediately a server came to help us with any questions we had. She gave each of us a dinner menu and provided an extensive wine list. We perused the menus, discussing if we wanted an appetizer and dessert or just dessert and what type of drinks we wanted to drink. We decided to skip appetizers and go straight to dessert, ordering the Chocolate Molten Lava cake and to drink Erik ordered the Ginsing margarita and I ordered the Espresso martini. We asked to hold off on the cake until a bit later and indulged in our drinks first. The menu declares the Ginsing margarita as "the worlds best margarita" and I'm going to have to disagree. First, it's blended, I prefer my margaritas on the rocks and second, ehh, it was just all right. It wasn't my drink, so I can't complain. My drink however was damn good! Vanilla vodka and Starbucks coffee liqueur shaken with a double shot of fresh brewed espresso served chilled. Ohhh, it was yummy! Our cake came to us about 45 minutes after we ordered it (remember we had asked for it to arrive later), arriving just as the show started. I felt deliciously dirty indulging in chocolate cake while watching pretty girls dance around in pretty underthings. You don't get that experience when you're at one of the many nightclubs watching a burlesque show. I'm normally standing around, trying to inch my way to a spot where I can see then awkwardly standing there with my arms crossed trying to enjoy the show with tons of people around me also trying to inch their way closer to the stage. Not at the Triple Door, I had a great seat, great cake, and yummy cocktails. I have to admit, when we first walked in I immediately thought "Oh, everything is going to be expensive here", and if we had a full dinner here, it would have been pretty expensive, but for what we did order, I thought the prices were decent. The cake is probably a bit overpriced at $7, but I thought the drink prices were spot-on, if not less than what you'd pay at a comparable lounge or nice restaurant. Erik's margarita was $7.50, he also ordered a specialty cocktail, the Once in a Blue Moon and that was $7.75, and my Espresso martini was $8. Our bill was just under $40 (for four cocktails and cake!) with tax and before tip. All in all, we had a very enjoyable evening and look forward to attending another show at the Triple Door.

As far as jazz clubs go, this one is quite mediocre. You don't get what you pay for as far as food goes, and the drinks are more than a little pricey. Be expecting to cut off your arm to pay for dinner and two drinks each, as well as hear nobody-knows-me jazz acts that don't deserve the high end cover charge. If you want to hear some good jazz, without all of the crap piled on top go to the Seamonster Lounge.

I've been to about six dinner concerts at The Triple Door. I'm an audiophile and tend to be critical about music venues because I'm spoiled by my home stereo. But TTD has the best live sound system I've ever heard. It's truly state-of-the-art. Every seat is good. The way it's designed, it feels like you have an intimate connection with the performers and they're playing just to your table. And what's nice is that the staff asks the audience to be quiet during the performance. There's nothing more irritating than trying to enjoy a great performance and having the next table blabbing and laughing and ruining it for everyone else. I consider their prices quite fair, especially for the calibre of talent they showcase. I've seen some incredible jazz, classical, and world music concerts there. Food and drinks are a little expensive but still very reasonable considering the venue. Anyone who thinks it's overpriced has never looked at the cost of running a business. I wouldn't call the food outstanding but it's all very good. I've read some reviews about poor service but every time we've had excellent, friendly service by the wait staff. I've been to the Musiquarium Sunday night for salsa. It's understaffed so it's a little hard getting service and not enough room to dance after 11:00 but hey...live music, dancing, great deals on happy hour food, a fun, friendly atmosphere, and no cover! So I can't complain. Apologies for sounding like a Triple Door advertisement and not being able to come up with any cons but I really don't have any.

I really like this place. Great venue, great food, great entertainment. The service was kinda lacking, but understandable since we had a waitress-in-training for our server. The seating in the mainstage area reminds me of going to a show in Vegas. The musicquarium has an amazingly huge aquarium in it and is just as much fun in my opinion. I used to come here all the time when my coworker's husband worked here as a bartender. It's not as often nowadays, but I still love it here!

  • Kat C.

I like this place and have seen some amazing concerts- the space is great and has an intimate feeling, but sometimes I just want to see the show and don't feel like spending $75 on top of the ticket price for something to eat and a few drinks. The food sounds good and isn't bad, but at the same time, I would rather go somewhere else for the price. The service has been very attentive but sometimes too much so- I just wanted to see the concert. Go to the happy hour at the Musicquarum upstairs though- I love the Green Papaya Salad for a few bucks and cheap drinks!

I've been here twice. Once for a concert and once for a networking event. THe concert was nice. It was seated, there was dinner, and there were drinks also. It was a nice atmopshere. The service was really good. During the networking event, I had the Monk's Curry which was not very good. I mean, it was ok, but wouldn't order it again. The waitress wasn't friendly at all, but the bartender was great, helpful, and super friendly. So I guess it balanced out.

I've been to the upstairs and downstairs a number of times. Downstairs: is great with their booths facing the stage. Not a bad seat in the house. Great music artists that perform here also. Upstairs: more casual, lounge-like atmosphere. They have some live music here also. I like their drink selection.

After years of wanting to check out the much heralded Triple Door, I finally went to see for myself. People have told me how great it is, but these same people also tell me how great Beth's is or how great cream cheese is on a hot dog. Now, no offense to Beth's or to those who love cream cheese on hot dogs, but these things aren't even in the same ball park. To be honest, I don't think I had imagined just how amazing this place really is. As we were being lead to our table, I couldn't help but feel at aw with my surroundings. The theater is beautiful, and the way the tables are set up is so cool, it reminded me of being in Vegas at one of those swanky dinner theater type shows. Everything about this place, the food, the drinks, the service, was absolutely terrific. I couldn't recommend it more. Plus on top of all that, the best part, the live music. It's such an intimate way to enjoy a band/performer. Minus the screaming high schoolers who were there to see opener Jason Reeves, I enjoyed seeing Nicole Atkins, who, in all her Jersey glory, wowed the Seattle crowd with her beautiful voice. Now that I am fully aware of this gem of a venue, I can't wait to come back for some more great shows.

Granted, we went there to pick up some friends on Salsa Night, so not really the scene we were hoping for, but our friends work there so we got the back-stage tour. This place looks amazing for live music. Great drinks, great bar, nice and cool too (only place with a perfectly functioning A/C) so perfect for dancing.

The triple door has the two things i love, music and food. The food is just great, the seating is is quite amazing, it kind of feels like i am those award shows you see onTV with the actors all seated together in seperate tables. the atmosphere is very wide yet intimate, with an alluring feel. The menu can be described as modern asian cuisine. the service is great, the servers are always there for you. If you are willing to spend a bit of money, the triple door is a great place. Great for dates, an anniversay dinner or even with a group of friends. make sure you check out the concert calander at thetripledoor.com !

Our first time there, going to see Nicole Atkins and the Sea. Very confused: buy tickets here, go stand in line there, sure have a drink at the bar, here - hold onto your ticket with the table number. Wow. Slow down Paco. Either way, we get there a bit early for a 10 o'clock show, chill to some jazz upstairs and enjoy what's in store. Get escorted down to the dining room - a beautiful, cozy area with tables half circle facing the stage. Small stage, great sound (even sitting on the side) equally great show. Mellow, aside from Nicole Atkins' #1 fan (knew all the songs, standing, clapping, you know the type) we had a great experience. Add a $10 cab ride home and you have two folks definitely heading back to this joint.

One of my favorite restaurants and venues in Seattle! Incredible food and awesome ambiance. The main stage always has great shows and is a perfect setting to bring guests visiting in town or a hot date. The free Musicquarium has free music performers every night of the week plus happy hour drink and food specials at various times during the night. Wild Ginger is the adjoining restaurant and kitchen with the same amazing menu... I definitely recommend.

So, sitting down for a show is a new thing for me. I'm much more accustomed to the packed-into-a-club-what's-a-table style of show. Waiting in line for bathrooms, drinks and food is out of the question. I must say, it was quite bizarre to sit down for a meal in the same place I would be seated through the show. As a really short person, I generally don't get to see much of a band. I get to hear them, I get to have the second-hand-account of the visual joke shouted into my ear. I had no such trouble at the Triple Door. Even with a man well over six feet tall seated at the table in front of me, I could see all of the stage. I got all of the visual jokes. The sound was amazing. As for the food - it was fantastic. The drinks were great - I had a mango-and-lime daiquiri and I'm normally a rum-and-coke or whiskey neat kind of girl. Service was wonderful - the waiter was nearly invisible but accessible at the same time which is a very, very fine line to walk even if you aren't trying to to duck being in the way of a performance. Early arrival does seem to be the best plan - I would not want to try and order complicated drinks or ask questions about desserts during the show. The least awesome thing about this place? The bathrooms. The ladies was clean-looking but by no means tidy (as in, it looked like a group of women came in and trashed it at some point early in the night). Definitely recommended as a venue... though I'm still not sure about the lack of an ability to dance.

I've been here a few times for shows.. Now, I hit up a lot of shows.. 2-4 times a month.. and when I come here, I feel so adult. No sweaty teenagers making out or headbutting their brains out to whatever.. No stanky BO to really throw your night into a frenzy.. and most importantly.. NO SWAMP ASS! Gotta love that Triple Door. Great sound, great food, excellent atmosphere. I was gifted the +1 honor at the KEXP VIP Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings performance this last week.. and lemme tell ya, they brought it home. Seriously though.. it's my favorite all time Seattle Music venue. Props!

In my opinion, The Triple Door is Seattle's best kept secret. Tucked away below Wild Ginger and next to more notable Benaroya Hall, TD is my favorite place to see live entertainment. The acoustics are unmatched, the food is delicious (many items from the Wild Ginger menu) and the ambiance is so chill it can make the most mediocre of performers seem much better than they really are. Only downer is no reserved seating so first come first seated. Make friends with the staff, date and marry them... then you are ensured great seats anytime!

I'm at the TD a lot cause I work across the street. Great for happy hour. Love the nightly live music. The theater though - one of the best places in town to see live music. Makes for a wonderful date night. Sound is perfect. Every seat is great. Food - just okay. My only complaint would be that the wait staff is always noisy and walking around during the show. Doing their jobs, yes. But they stand in front of you like giant doors. Minor. Great place to take guests. Love it.

I love this place. Please, please if you're reading this and you know me and want to get me a nice birthday present, take me to a show here - I don't care who's playing! I love the whole dinner/show formality of the Triple Door that seems to harken back to a snazzier, classier club night era. The booths ... the attentive service ... the intimate stage and great sound. I'm not saying that it's purely a white-jacket-and-tie affair at the Triple Door - you can make the experience whatever you want it to be and just wear jeans and fit in fine with the rest of the crowd (this is Seattle, after all). But this is a venue *worth* dressing up a little for. The only downside is that I'm not totally in thrall with the food menu ... it's good, but not fantastic. I do like the Siam Cups: bibb lettuce wraps and a thai fish/slaw filling (not quite sure what's in it exactly since I only ever eat it in romantic, dim stage light) - so refreshing and yummy. And the green beans are also tasty. But there's a lot of stuff on the menu that seems ho-hum and overpriced. Maybe I need to give it another try, or maybe the menu as a whole just can't compete with the awesomeness of the venue itself. Overall, the Triple Door has always been a magical and memorable experience. Heck, maybe I won't even wait to my birthday to go back. Thank you, Barry, for your great service at the Chicha Libre show on Sunday!

Man, this place rules! But only if you are going to see some sort of avant/noisee band or something where the atmosphere and music contrast each other. I saw matmos there, and it was such a good experience. Sit down festival style seating, dress code, candle/mood lighting, hot waitresses, good sound, and sweet experimental noise blasts blowing your hair back etc. This is not your typical venue. If you are sick of chop suey and Neumos, like me, then this will be a welcome change. Gang gang dance plays in two weeks. I can't wait! Minus one star because they generally get pretty boring loungey type acts that bring "the sleep" if you know what I mean. but occasionally they will get rad bands.

Wow!!! I was surprised Seattle had such a nitch like this. Making me really attracked to this city) I came with a friend to see Viena teng and Alex wong perform. At first I was like... what is all this hoot about??? but went anyways b/c I could, i had time, and I have to say I'm glad i did. I was actually blown away by my triple door experience. It's a pretty classy venue where you can see live music being performed with food and drinks. When you walk in, you get "assigned" seated seats and the usher walks you to where every it is. Sounds like they usually have 2 showing of each show and it's small enough where the performer can talk to the audience where it feels personable but big and spread out enough that you can sit around w/o really knowing who's next to you. The servers a pretty prompt. As for the food, it's good that they serve it but... if your expecting good asian fusion... i'd say go some where else. It's a good place to start with appetitizers but this is definately not the selling point of triple door. Although... they present it quite awesomely. After the "show" they have a short time when you get to chill and talk to the artist. Awesomeness!!!

I really wanted to give the Triple Door more love, but now that I am going to more shows on my own, I can't give them any more stars. Sure it's swanky and comfortable and no one is going to spill beer on you and you can still wear jeans, BUT if you are a party of one, prepare to be ignored. *Repeatedly* I've gone with the intention of getting at least dessert and probably some of their yummy salad rolls, but my waiter(ess) full on disappeared between dropping my drink on front of me on a drive-by, and dropping the check at the end of the show. Now I know to always eat first, as my order apparently isn't worth taking.

Beautiful inside, great seats, decent acoustics. Were seated right up front near the stage, but asked to move back a bit -- not a problem to make the accommodation. Thank god. Sometimes you just don't want a trumpet blasting in your face, no matter how good the trumpet. Another definite plus -- strongest martinis I've found in the Pacific Northwest. Winning combination.

In my opinion, this place is all about the atmosphere. Great lighting and classy looking tables / chairs. There is a huge fish tank as you enter and on some nights they have jazz music playing that is not too loud. The drinks... not bad. (8-10 bucks for a martini and they are alright) The food... seems like they try to do too much and everything tastes very bland. One of my group asked the waitress if she could specify how spicy to make her dish (since my dish was very bland) and the waitress said there wasn't any choice for how spicy to make the dish but she could have them add spices and it would be either really spicy or not at all. ...uhhh.... why not take all the spice when it is "Too" spicy and cut it in half so it is half as spicy? Anyways, I would recommend this place on a date when you are looking on having a few drinks with an intimate atmosphere.

I FINALLY saw my first show at the Triple Door this week and I was pretty impressed. I'm really tired of standing at shows and having stupid drunk chicks or douche bags spill drinks on my expensive clothes. Thankfully the Triple Door is a seated venue with a decent menu, however the menu is REALLY overpriced you're better off eating before the show and having one or two drinks during to save on costs in this trouble economy. Correction I hear its called the "New Economy" this month. We started with drinks in the lounge area I think its called Aquarium, nice lounge the staff is a B-. After half a drink in there we went into the main venue and were seated to see Martha Wainwright (the talented Wainwright sibling). The acoustics, lighting, show were all great the only reason this place isn't getting a five star is because of the prices.

Great fun at this place! There to see a show, my second at the venue, and we hung-out in the bar for a while before hand. Great selection and service. Preassigned (fab) seating for show and great food and drinks, as well as service, during the show. If you haven't been here, you must check it out - it's like no where else in town.

Last night we had yet another wonderful experience at the Triple Door's Musicquarium: food was delicious (green papaya salad is my all times favorite!), portions - generous and service - excellent. Christopher, our server, was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without overbearing, well mannered and rather amusing. I praise Triple Door for their choice of performers that caters to a wide range of audience with different tastes. I was immensely impressed by the incredibly talented jazz musicians of Theoretic; this group is definitely one of a kind with a distinctive musical style and refreshing thought provoking lyrics. Hope to see more of them @the Triple Door, which to my opinion is the best place in Seattle to hear high quality music.

Last night we went to see (hear) the Mark Taylor quartet at the Triple Door. After looking forever for free parking, we found a good spot and hiked to the restaurant. The show was downstairs in the theatre, a very well laid out place. The staff was all amazing and the food was good as well. My only knock is on the satays, which keep me from giving a 5 star rating. They definitely tasted like street food. The entrees were amazing--I got the panang beef curry which I gobbled down and my wife had the most flavorful pad thai she's had in a long time. The side of garlic bok choy is something that I could eat all day! Overall, a wonderful experience!

I was at the triple door last night. They had a cool jazz band playing by the bar. The place was semi packed. Downstairs they had Ryan Gosling's band "Dead Man's Bones" playing. You know the guy from the "Note Book". Well, I was there just for drinks and trying to find cool place to hang. It seemed pretty decent. Food, drinks & entertainment. Not bad, will visit again. I had 2 Dirty Martini's & chocolate cake. A meal and dessert. Next time I will try the food for sure!

Been to the bar several times for pre-symphony drinks, but I really loved the one show I did see there - the Charlie Hunter Trio. Perfect venue for this group or any group that you want to focus all of your attention on. Professional staff brings you your drinks right to your comfy booth so you don't have to miss a note of the performance. It's a little odd to have to line up and be escorted to your table, but that way they can maximize the seating. I leave it up to the staff because they definitely know what they are doing.

This is the best small venue i've ever been to. It's not even close. This is the way music should be enjoyed. Relaxed, sitting down, eating a nice meal in between sets and sipping a fine cocktail, wine or beer during the show. The service was quick and quiet, which is good during a live show. I'd go there just to watch paint dry.

The Triple Door is like LA... I really want to like it, but every time I go something screwy happens and makes me not want to go there. It is a nice place. They have table service, so no pushing your way to a crowded bar for drinks. They have good food and fun deserts, but... Let's all agree that whoever came up with the "you get seated based on when you check in" should be harmed. I mean it. Physically hurt. See, if I don't want to eat there, all of the people who do are going to get the best seats. If I arrive close to show time, I'm are probably going to get to stand in the back. If I get there too early, they are going to seat me in the seats to the side of the stage, which suck. For shows (cabaret, burlesque), the idea of dinner and a show plays. For music, not so much. Every time I've been to a show there the band has commented on performing while people are eating. I'm surprised they can still book bands. Oh, and I'm a proficient drinker. So really, I'm glad you have table service, but I would really like to have more than two drinks in the two+ hours I'm there.

Dinner served till midnight ! That was enough to make me happy. And the food was amazing. It was a Sunday night before a Monday holiday. There was dj but no one dancing even though the place was packed. Its pricey ofc. 90$ for 2 ppl with 1 app, 2 entres and 2 drinks. But the food so worth it. We got the red curry fish and thai green curry chicken. Both were delicious. Esp when we got the hot sauce !! Wud go again for sure.

I really did not enjoy this place at all. The food was beyond overpriced for what you get. The drinks are just as bad. And it took them on average 10 minutes to bring drinks each time to my group(of 8). The place wasn't even that crowded to warrant such slow service either. The final straw was when i ordered a cranberry juice, and 20min later it still had not arrived, so i just got up and walked out. As for the atmosphere, if your into the trendy pretentious type of thing, this is a great place. For those wanting something a little more down to earth and relaxed i wouldn't recommend it. The Saturday night i was there it was filled with blondes with fake tits, and men 2x their age trying to outspend each other. The shows are great though, and if you go just for that, you should have a good time no matter your taste.

Awesome stage... lovely performance... great seating! I came here for the first time for my friend's birthday and watched my first burlesque show. With every performance that came out to visit the crowd, they always stopped by our table to say hi. Maybe it's because there's only one male sitting in the middle of our table of +six girls. Lily Verlaine is very classy and pretty up close. Jasper kept us entertained in between the shows of American Strong Woman, jazz, opera and extra. I love this place and hope to come back soon.

We love the shows at Triple Door. This rating is about their service. We've gone to the happy hour- and post happy hour- three times in the last three months before shows at Benaroya. The food did arrive- so two stars is for that. But the servers were rude, to a one. Initially I thought it was the woman/woman thing, but even with my exceptionally polite and mellow husband, the women were still unfriendly at best, unhelpful and disdainful. And it doesn't stop there. After heading there last night we stopped to get a gift certificate for my sister in law's birthday for a show. The woman at the box office- short, (and not in physical stature), rude, and ended up writing the certificate out from only one of us. At one point she literally looked at us with a look of disgust (yet somehow without eye contact) and gestured- but didn't bother putting her headphone on to speak- for us to put the pen back through the window. Unbelievable. Why did we keep going back? Well, we love Wild Ginger.... and thought surely it was just that once. Maybe we got unlucky the second time. But no worries. Plenty of other places to explore. We wont be back again. In this economy I would think customer service would be at a premium- if not for the sake of revenue, at least for the sake of common decency.

I saw The Blow here last weekend. She is the only reason I ever went to this venue and I was a little afraid of it before going, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really like being able to sit down at a show (grandma) and from the looks of it, there isn't a bad seat in the house. My boyfriend and I met up with two other people there and since we had never been, we were afraid that us all showing up at different times would cause problems since we paid for all four people in the same order on his credit card in order to ensure our being able to sit together. Turns out, that wasn't a big deal at all. We got there first and were seated at our table. Our friends just had to tell them the name on the reservation and they were brought to our table with no problems. Made things really simple. We got some appetizers (buddha rolls that were really good and stuffed calamari for my boyfriend which he said was kinda gross, especially in retrospect) some drinks (beer for him and a mango daiquiri for me which was really good, but not very strong at all, especially for the price) and some dessert (triple split - reaaaaally good). The service was good and our waiter was really friendly. He talked up the gross calamari, but he wasn't pushy. He stayed out of the way, but always showed up when we needed something. Overall, I was worried, but we ended up having a really great experience. I took off a star because the food and drinks are a bit too expensive and one of the bussers checked out my friend's rack a few too many times. I think she liked it though.

I had a great experience and a terrible experience with this business. Thus I will not go again. My husband and I took my daughter Jill and her boyfriend to dinner and a show. We paid extra for a booth up front had a wonderful waitress, food, and a great show. Loved it and my daughter loved it too. She has very little money to spend on entertainment so I decided to buy her a gift certificate so she could come back. My daughter used her gift on Valentines day 2009 and had a horrible experience. Terrible table, terrible waiter, no drink or food after waiting an hour, no help from the floor manager. I called and wrote this business on more that one occasion and never received a single response. I thought I had found such a great place to spend special evenings, but nope just can't bring myself to spend money there again.

This fabulous lounge and show is just amazing the food is awesome and the cast is wonderful and it is so much fun... My office had their Christmas party here and we saw the Nutcracker show it was superb. I advise getting there early so you can participate with the cast. The cast is all so beautiful, funny and extremely talented. My favorite thing about the show is that certain members of the cast come out in the audience and say hello... I love that! When the show is over go out into the lounge and watch the gorgeous fish tank and have a cocktail or two, listen to music and watch for members of the cast to come out and take a moment to say hello. Looking for a wonderful evening this is it!!!!

An incredible venue, without a bad seat in the house! Ive gone twice, once to see fountains of wayne, and another to see Barcelona, and had a great meal and an amazing time. the Pad Thai is very good, service was good, the acoustics were good. I would highly reccomend going there for a show!

I had my first experience at this great venue a couple years ago. Normally, I'm used to standing room only, sweaty packed clubs to see my favorite artists. It definitely reminds me of the venues in Las Vegas, though. The booths and high tables on the sides are ideal. I love the little candles. I guess it could be semi-romantic...Once you get seated, you can order some dinner, which was not what we expected because we were always there for the music. The food is incredibly expensive and the portions are tiny, as we saw other people ordering. My friend and I each got the appetizer of vegetarian fried rice, which was fairly cheap and the largest thing on the menu. Twas delicious though! We then proceeded to share the Triple Split, three scoops of gelato with pistachios, nuts, and a banana on top. Recommend that highly, as well as the pots of tea. Though I will only go there for the music, the food is an added bonus!

What a great find! Cozy, great live entertainment (jazz night) and great food. The ambience is nice for a late night get together with friends, the food is Asian, Thai influence, done really well, we had a bunch of appies... try the chicken satay, lamb skewers, scallops and shrimp and a huge selection of drinks!

I like the place but the service we had last night was a definite downer. I recommend the calimari and the tropical cruiseliner from their happy hour menu. The bar waitresss was a little rude when she indicated that she wanted take food and drink orders separately. The atmosphere is good and maybe the service was an isolated incident. I don't know.

Awesome live performances and good beer. Wow, what else could I ask for? Well, I guess I can complain that, down inside the mainstage room, some of the seats closer to the back don't exactly have a great view. The upstairs lounge area is usually pretty crowded, but I've never had trouble finding seating, either at a table or booth.

Have been here several times, both alone and with my wife and have not had a bad experience yet. Great service, delicious Wild Ginger food, decent beer selection for those who like the good stuff. Have sat near the front, on the side, in the middle and once closer to the back, all were good seats. Sound is fantastic. Love seeing the Decibel Festival final night's show here, hope they continue it for years to come.

Triple AWESOME, more like! I (heart) live music. I don't (heart) standing in the midst of a pack of sweaty bodies while listening to live music. I also happen to (heart) eating. So the triple door is the Trifecta of music venues: 1. there's not a bad seat in the house. 2. even if everyone there is sweaty, they're not all up in your grill so you don't notice. 3. they have good food (and drinks--I highly recommend the mango mojito!) A tad expensive, but overall a must-do in Seattle!

Wow. What a venue. Quite possibly the best venue on the west coast. The Triple Door has a great vibe from the moment you arrive. Directly across from Benaroya Hall in downtown, you know you are in the Emerald City. The wait staff makes small chat as they walk you into a magical room of stars and candlelight and seat you at a table with an intimate view of the stage. The food choices are mostly asian inspired and are fairly thoughtful about sustainability. Free range chicken, local WA pork and plenty of veggie options. We recommend the Free range chicken pot stickers and a Bok Choy side.

I could put 5 stars,,,,because I went to see Tom Brosseau and he was great. i mean,,,HE WAS AWESOME! but let me chill a sec and here's my real review. This place is very unique. I have never been to a place like this to see someone play. We got seated on the right hand side(facing the stage) our back against the wall and I liked our seat. It's close enough and when i was sitting my eye level was Tom's eye level X] and it was very comfortable to see him play. The food is alright. Not fantastic for the price. Also I recommend getting there early if you want to eat. Just because I, personally think it's kinda rude to eat while the artist is playing. I mean i rather watch him/she play than eat. We got there15 min. before the show starts and they started the show right on time (i guess it's a good thing). I wanted to be done eating and just have a drink on my hand and watch him play. What else,,, oh yeah, so, sitting and watching someone play is nice. But when I get excited, I want to jump and scream and stuff but I couldn't really do that there. So, it's different. Good sound, clear view. I'd go there again if someone I like will play.

I love the Triple Door. I have been coming here for a few years now, and it remains one of my favorite places. It has a dark, chic, Jazzy-martini bar vibe, which I totally dig. They have live music on the top part of the "aquarium bar" often, and I don't think I've ever heard anything I couldn't get into. The lower level of this old Vaudeville theater was transformed into a dinner-theater type dealy, which I've caught a couple of burlesque and acoustic shows in. The acoustics are great, and the shape and design of the theater make it nearly impossibly to be seated in a poor area. The food/drinks are good, I can't venture to say amazing, though I have been pleasantly surprised now and then with something over the top.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! We went last night to see Sean Nelson Sings Nilsson (which was fabulous) and, yes, it turned into quite a pricey night but so worth it! We were seated on the right side facing across the theater, and, at first, I thought that was going to be a problem, but it really wasn't. I'm pretty sure there's not a bad seat in the house. We had the salt and pepper squid (well, Chris did), crab cakes (enh), panko prawns (awesome), stuffed shitakes (not my fave), two beef satays and one lamb. Oh my God - the lamb! The lamb was the best thing I've eaten in a long time. It's Ellensburg Lamb, and it was DELICIOUS!!!! We each had two drinks (Chris had the ginger martini which he didn't love and a Cab, I had two Reislings), and the bill was something like $91. With parking ($7) and the two show tickets that's a pretty expensive evening for something not-so-fancy, but we don't do it that often and we enjoyed it immensely. My only disappointment is that the Triple Door doesn't really cater to our kind of music very often, but I will keep my eyes open for the next time it does!

Swanky. I love coming to shows here. Nothing better then having someone bring you food and cocktails while you watch a show. The seats are comfortable and the decor is dark and inviting. The food has a Asian theme to it and is very tasty. Service could be a little bit faster and more attentive, but for a dinner club its still very nice. The Musiquarium is also nice. They have a great salsa band on Sundays with no cover. Bar service is fast and friendly and not over expensive.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. What I am writing about took place a few years ago and I'm still pissed about it. I drove down from Bellingham to hoping to enjoy a nice concert with a buddy of mine. Just before the show started the waitress for my isle spilled a glass of red wine down my back. Many minutes later, with no word spoken, a glass of soda water and a napkin was placed in front of me. As she walked away I asked how am I supposed to reach my back to dab out the wine...again no response. Never saw a waitress again. I went the rest of the night wet and thirsty. When the show ended I expected a manager to approach me and offer to replace or dry clean my shirt but all I got was a bill for the drinks we did have with no discount. We waited around to complain but since service is so ungodly slow there I gave up waiting and left. The cost of our drinks didn't match the cost of the shirt since I had thought it was a classy joint and had dressed appropriately. So I warn you all that the management is either non-existent (I notice that no one replies to complaints on this site) or they're cowards. If the front of the house is this poorly managed I'd hate to see their kitchen. Stay away! Don't let a good performer playing there sucker you into going to such a lousy venue!

I will have a hard time going back to a previously favorite spot, the triple door. The concert was great but the service and staff made the whole evening terrible. I can't actually remember when I got service this bad. It took 20 min for our waiter to even acknowledge our presence there after trying to track down another waiter. An hour later we got our first drinks which were completely watered down as if they had been sitting there for an hour! This was after we went to talk to the manager. Who did not fix the situation at all. He sent in the asst manager 20 mins later and he saw we still didn't have drinks. Horrible staff. Horrible management. Customer service?? They don't know the meaning. Completely acted like a jerk when we had to go back to the manager when they didn't comp our drinks like we were told when we had to wait an hour. Acted like they were doing us a huge favor. I will be urging all my friends to find another music venue if they want polite service.

I really enjoy this place. I think it's a perfect place for dinner and a show especially with close friends. I actually enjoy the limited menu because I'm one of those indecisive people who can never decide what I want to eat. I do have to say that the only reason I give this place 4 stars and not 5 is because the food seems to be more art inspired than taste inspired, still its enjoyable to have dishes that combine flavors I wouldn't on my own. I love the laid back time frame and the fish tank in the lobby... yeah I know its just ridiculous to like a fish tank but.... they found the fish that really school and I sat and watched those fish for almost a half hour. Sure I was a little buzzed already... Anyhow.. the last time we went we watched ukulele player and a guitarist and I loved it I'll be going back, when we have the time, since we have a restaurant of our own, It's hard to get out in the evenings

Venue had a nice atmosphere, and the drink prices were reasonable. Don't know if live music plays all the time, but the jazz band was a nice touch given the setting. However, the service was less than satisfactory. Bartender poured out our drinks without asking us if we were done (we weren't), didn't give new napkins after each drink, and service was slow given the amount of people who were there (about 6 people at the bar, 8 people out on the floor. There were two bartender's on duty and a waitress). By slow, I mean it took 8 minutes for us to be given a drink menu and an additional 5 minutes before we were actually served. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't stand out. Would still give it a second chance since the place itself was quite nice despite the poor service.

The lounge itself is great - the crowd has a good energy, you can listen to good music and still hear your friends, and the general ambiance is nice. We ordered cocktails: a mango mojito which was so good and the green dragon (vodka, triple sec, citrus juices, and basil) as well. The service, however, was lacking. We were told by a bartender that when they are slammed, you shouldn't expect being served a drink right away. I think there are better ways of relaying this message... Nonetheless, the overall experience was pretty good. They also serve food from Wild Ginger, so if you don't make it there before it closes, Triple Door is a good option. There are great happy hour specials and evening specials too.

This is my favorite venue in the city --- up to date! I first heard about the Triple Door from a friend - we decided to check it out and see Sonya Kitchell perform live there. I was told that you were able to dine while listening to live music --- this really intrigued me! When we first got there --- we stood in a dimly lit hallway waiting to be seated... The hostess was great she asked for our names and walked us to our seats --- she told us a little bit about the space and how it came to be. My first time walking into this place I knew even if the music was terrible and the food wasn't that good that I would definitely be back --- it's beautiful! As our hostess walked us to our seat I was a little shocked that we would be sharing a table with two other couples, but they ended up being pretty friendly. (if you have issues sitting with strangers definitely don't recommend you coming here! It was a little awkward at first but once you know what to expect it's kinda fun --- never know who you are going to sit next to when you come back!) Our waiter was great - we ordered dinner and cocktails (all of what we ate came from the Wild Ginger which apparently is also owned by the same person as The Triple Door). The music was excellent and the food and service was just as wonderful... My latest visit was a Frank Sinatra impersonator on Valentine's Day!!! The John Butler Trio will be there in March!

I have always loved seeing bands at the Triple Door, but over time, the service has gotten worse and worse. We've tried to adjust our expectations and bend to the club. First we stopped ordering food there, because it's not very good, slow, and quite expensive. After our next visit, we stopped ordering beer, which was consistently served in warm glasses. We switched to mixed drinks. On our next visit, our game plan going in was to lunge for the waiter any time he was in the area, because we sure as hell wouldn't see him again any time soon. Once we nabbed him, we'd order our mixed drinks, which might show up about 30 minutes later. Finally, last night, we realized we really can't continue seeing shows at the Triple Door. No one acknowledged us for 20 minutes after sitting down. I had to walk up to a bus-person and ask if anyone was assigned to our area. She volunteered to take our coffee order, which took another 10 minutes to get. Only then did our waiter finally show up, and he seemed surprised to see we had drinks. We really tried to bend to the Triple Door, because of the stage, sound, location, bands, etc. But it's not worth it. By the time the show started last night, we were frustrated, angry and not in a very good mood to listen to music. The lousy service put a damper on the entire experience.

My friends and I went there for happy hour and it was yummy food. I had their calamari stuffed with pork dipped in chili sauce, chicken satay in spicy peanut sauce, and papaya salad. I didn't stay for the entertainment, but I like the atmosphere and food.

After our bad experience at Von's, we moved on to find "The Troubadour" - I was struggling to find it on Google Maps on my phone, but someone had directions. Seeing the sign "Triple Door", we cuffed our guide over the head and wandered in (again, with no ID issues - see review of Von's). The bar was very busy by the time we arrived, I believe this was called the Musicquarium stage, and we had arrived on Salsa Night - the band, Mango Son, were in full swing, and the dance floor was buzzing. We managed to order drinks at the bar and find our way to a few chairs, then we sat back and let the night take us over. We left the bar a few hours later, on the next level or two of inebriation, and our sides and ribs quite painful from laughter. I'm not saying that this feeling was caused by the Triple Door, but there are some places, despite how loud they are, that can put you at ease, allow conversation to flow, and then the chemistry takes over, and we had what was probably our best night in Seattle. They had an average selection of spirits and beers, the bar-staff were hit and miss - one super friendly, one who was super-angry, but none of this could take away from the special something that the bar produced that night.

As a venue it is amazing, but food is a little lack luster and drinks are expensive. I'd suggest you go early, get a table, then head out to a nearby resturant or Pike Place for dinner, go back and have drink a some sugar for the show. Your table will be there when you get back, don't worry!

I find myself buying tickets to shows here, just to go here, the show is just a nice bonus. We usually head over after work, so an Espresso-tini is a must. The food is good, and the portions are big, so my date and I usually get an app, and an entree to split. I've always wanted to try desert, but I have never gotten that far.

The seats on the side are a better deal, get those and not the booth seats with per-people minimums. Food is good but not necessarily worth the prices in the booths.

The Triple Door offers quality staging for great entertainment and excellent food. I went to the Triple Door recently to see the performer Joey Arias and has the first food in Seattle I was impressed by. The venue is high class, but you don't have to be dressed up. Service can be a bit slow, especially when the bills come. They ALL come at one time. I would recommend cash for a quicker exit. Make sure to order your drinks before you are done with your last one since the bar can get a little behind during rushes.

I have been to the Triple Door a few times and I am always impressed with this venue. The servers are like ninjas. Their table service is smooth and quick, so it is easy to miss their sneaky Ninja moves when they are delivering your food. They have this place running like clockwork, so you can enjoy the show as they keep the drinks and food coming. Great cocktail menu, food has Asian flair, and desserts are oh so good. I am going to enjoy becoming a regular at Triple Door.

This is a 3.5 star for me. TD has a great happy hour and there are plenty of seating in the bar if you get there early enough. This is a good place to go if you want to have a few drinks before heading to a show or a concert down the street. I love its menu and everything I've had is yummy. Music is awesome too but service is spotty. Servers aren't very attentive and drinks can take a while before they get to your table.

Do you ever go to a concert and hope to never ever see the band? Do you hope to only view the shoulder blades of the people in front of you while listening to muffled music? Welcome to most of my concert going experiences. Luckily I have found a spot that caters to people like me, people who have to get all of their pants hemmed, people who keep a step stool in every room in the house. The Triple Door provides a place for those of us who have never known growing pains to watch a live show. At this unique music venue the stage is surrounded by semi-circle booths which provide a welcome respite from the flat floor venues that abound in Seattle. Sure, the ambiance does have an element of classy cheese, the food could use some work, and the drinks are mediocre, I don't care - I can see!!!! Whoa, I didn't know that you usually saw the drummer during a live show! Who knew that the band sometimes moved around the stage and put on a "show" during the set? Not me! Whenever a good show is playing at The Triple Door, I am totally ready to "see" the band!

The triple door is so fancy and the service is so great. I love coming to see a show here. I just saw This is Halloween and could not believe what a great production it was. But its the room that shows are in that is really extraordinary, no other places like it in seattle that come to mind. Reminds me of a Vegas showroom. I love that waiters come around to the tables multiple times during a show. One time I came with a large group and they upgraded us to a private room in advance, what a nice thing to do. The bar upstairs is also great, I love the giant fish tank. Unfortunately though I dont love the food as much as I could. I do enjoy the satay and I appreciate that they have some vegetarian options. I hear the potstickers are great. And I think my boyfriend enjoyed his meat like dishes in times past. He also liked his recent japanese IPA. I would love some more varieties in shows though, often there is nothing that catches my interest, but every once in a while. Plus the triple door was super nice to everyone at the yelp adrenaline adventures, but honestly I loved them before that.

The venue itself is sexy but at the same time comfortable. The booths make for a very intimate seating for you and your guests. I really enjoyed my evening watching the main stage. The Musiquarium has a very nice happy hour, inexpensive drinks and good eats. The crowd is always mixed which is what I enjoy about it you'll never see the same thing twice and this makes for a entertaining happy hour all the way around. The Triple Door started serving lunch which is just a few select items from Wild Ginger nothing on it has impressed me though my co-workers love their Pad Thai. The ladies rooms have always been clean and I love the lighting in them, though I will admit they can be a bit tricky to find.

In a nutshell, The Triple Door is where I go when I want to feel classy. While I generally feel most at home in a dive bar with a beer, every girl wants to put on a pretty dress and drink a fancy cocktail once in a while. The Triple Door is aesthetically appealing (the fish tank helps) and features live music nightly...music that is generally pretty good in my experience. I like to go here when I want to feel like the grown-up I am supposed to have become, and the varying age profile of the crowd helps with that. The drinks are good and the service is fine. I hear the food is also pretty tasty and that Happy Hour is a great deal. Overall, you can expect good times of the classy variety from the Triple Door.

I came to The Triple Door in July 2008 to see Jay Brannan, and it was simply a magical evening. I arrived rather early, by myself, not knowing what to expect, but the hostess seated me quickly and made me feel like a warmly welcomed regular. I started with a pomatini and the buddha rolls (fresh vegetable spring rolls in a rice wrapper, with pineapple dipping sauce), which were both absolutely delightful. For my entree, I had the hawker tofu (tamarind tofu, wok-fried with peanut sauce), which was even better than I expected, and the bite-sized tofu was easy to eat even after the house lights went down. For dessert, I had the molten chocolate cake and a cup of coffee. I wanted a cappuccino, but the waitress told me (with apologies) that the espresso machine was out of order that evening. My entire meal was extremely good, and the waitstaff provided superb service without being obtrusive. The waitress came to take dessert orders between the opening act and the main act, which worked out perfectly. Honestly, it would be hard to overstate how good the food and the service are at the Triple Door. The concert itself was excellent as well. It's hard for me to judge the acoustics because the opening act, Annie Stela, sounded loud and muddled, but when Jay Brannan began his first song, all doubts vanished. For one man and a guitar, everything sounded clear -- just right. I was sitting slightly forward and left of center, and I was able to see really well. The interior of the Triple Door is very well planned, both for groups and for individual attendees.

Only reviewing the bar area (where Nemo lives): Excellent decor. Decent food (need larger portions though). Great place for a live band. I go there Sundays for live salsa music -- no cover even. They have some great tasting drinks. Check the menu.

Caveat - I have only been here once, but it was to see the inimitable Andy Bey, and we had a absolutely wonderful time. Much more charming than Jazz Alley from the bathrooms to the tabletops up to center stage. Bravo. Now get some heavyweights to come play.

I've been to two concerts there, and I think it's the best music venue in town. The first time, I attended alone and was seated at the stage. It was an acoustic concert, and the view was unbeatable. It was dark, however, and it was a little difficult to see what I was eating. The second time, I was seated with a group at a table up front--another great view, and with the candle on the table, I could actually see what I was eating. Love the fragrant duck from the Wild Ginger!

I feel bad giving this place 3 stars because it is apparent that people love this place. So here's my deal. I went here with on a Friday night after eating at Wild Ginger. There was supposed to be a a band playing "Das Something-or-another" so my girlfriend and I thought it would be a good crowd for drinks and entertainment. I'm not sure if I was supposed to walk through the double doors on the inside, but we stopped at the bar near the large fish tank. If you like fish tanks, this one is big, but doesn't have any real interesting fish. We sat at the bar and my friend ordered the coconut martini and I ordered the ginger martini. After having GREAT coconut martinis at Wild Ginger, my friend was very disappointed at the ones at Triple Door. I could barely take my martini down as it was basically three straight shots of vodka with bits of ginger in it. It's not like the menu lied, but I was expecting something else. The crowd was very much not happening and the band was incapable of capturing any attention. The bar itself is not bad, though there is that faint scent of alcohol, vomit, and Clorox. It just wasn't for me.

By far the best place in Seattle to see a serious event. Jazz, downtempo, ambient, what a great place. It's just a awesome place to hear good music on a sound system that is perfectly keyed in to the acoustics of the room while having a bottle of wine. There really is something to be said for a good sound system. This place just brings out the best in the bands that play there. Good service that was respectful of the show going on. The wine service was great as well. We had one of the best bottles of Merlot I've ever had here. I'll be back again. It's only downside is the price. Too expensive for regular shows for this guy. Man I would love to have more money.

To say The Triple Door is a bad place for lunch is a little like bemoaning the uninspiring selection of children's literature at Seatac--true enough, but pretty much beside the point. I did once go to The Triple Door for dessert and a drink after a concert at Benaroya Hall, though, and it was almost as depressing on Saturday evening as at Friday noon. I know the decorator wasn't aiming for cozy, but even the most austere aesthetic scheme should still find room for your feet and your elbows, so says I! What almost saves it is, you can get a pot of Keemun tea. Tea in a pot, good. Keemun, better yet. With the right chemical stimulus, you can overlook a lot in the way of alienating furniture.

I went to a Gypsy guitar show there last night...first time in that place. Not bad...a little too much of that forced fake swanky-ness and forced fake people to go along with it, but I do have to say, the stage was great and I do like all the semi-circle tables so everyone gets a good view. I wouldn't make this a regular hang-out by any means, but if there is a show you want to see, why not. side note: To all those out there that judge the quality of things by how much they cost...money doesn't buy class.

The mainstage venue is chic and comfortable at the same time. The tiered seating gives privacy, and the booths are slightly curved to both enclose your group and let everyone sit facing the stage. Quite a design feat. The ceiling is high, the stage ample and the sound system and lighting are great. For a special night out, I recommend Triple Door. It is pricey. The food, from Wild Ginger, is always good, sometimes great. Service is efficient even when the place is mega-crowded. I would prefer reserved seating, but without reserved seating some people get there way early and maybe it makes serving easier than if folks arrived all at once. Also, the valet parking is great. Note: I have not yet been to the Musiquarium, so my review could change after I go there. Soon, I hope.

Mixed feelings. I mean there is a lot of good and a lot of bad going on here. On the positive note, great happy hour with $3 drinks and not just beer. You can get a few of the fancy cocktails too and some cheap appetizers. The decor is sexy, sleek, dark and divine. You feel like you should have dressed up to go here. I'm talking heels and ironed shirts! The aquarium is a beautiful centerpiece and gives you something to amuse you if the crowd isn't. The music is soft enough to ignore but makes an impact on the place. And the bartenders can be really cool if they want to be. The bad part... pricey drinks. After happy hour, the facade comes off and it's money grubbing time. Way overpriced drinks. Also a few times during happy hour some of them will try to hustle you into paying a full $6 instead. So be wary. The aquarium while beautiful doesn't house anything interesting. I mean, with a tank that large you could have something exotic. Tetras don't cut it. The bartenders can easily be jerks if you rub them the wrong way and will force you to pay per drink, no tabs. The crowd seems to be the same way. While people watching is great, you will see a variety of it here. An older crowd in general. Forty-year old European women flirting with some guys that looks like Lombard from "Office Space". Some blond bimbo pretending to be bi with some poor girl that wants to be left alone with her boyfriend. A sexual predator in a trucker cap trying desperately to get a woman to go home with him. A writer taking notes on people in the corner. A few groups of friends enjoying the night. And a few couples just chatting and laughing. In general, a disappointing crowd and well as someone else put it, downright creepy. Stick to the other bars and only hit this place for happy hour or a specific show, like the Bombshells. As for shows, this place is a solid 4 stars. Easy to grab tickets online, friendly staff to seat you, and one hell of a theater area. Some of the seats looked cramped, so in groups of two you could get a hit or miss table. But for four or more, you get some prime seating. The service is good but somewhat annoying to have waitstaff darting in and out during the performance. Overall, I'd go for a show again.

I was at Triple Door for the NAPCA benefit concert and saw Jake Shimabukuro perform on his ukulele. This is the perfect place to watch a concert. To be seated, having dinner and drinks and not strain my neck to see the performer is the best. Jake was fabulous, who knew one could totally rock out on a ukulele and be so young and hot.

The best spot in town to see a show, that's for sure. Drinks are pricey but good. Never hung out in the bar area much, but it looks cool. The negatives? Staff can be a little stuck-up. On the night I went, the hostess was on a power trip that I've never seen.

Tonight was my first Triple Door experience. I love this place! My band, 80s Invasion, played here tonight and it was one my favorite gigs so far! The staff here is friendly and willing to work with you, total professionals in my opinion. The stage is beautiful. I plan on coming back to experience a show as an audience member. I made my way to the bar to unwind post show and had two of the most tasty cocktails ever. The bartender was friendly and attentive, but not overly so. The place was comfortable and had a good vibe. That's all I ask for in a bar. I would definitely come back here.

The Triple Door is probably my favorite venue in Seattle. It's dark, sexy, and small enough that no matter where you sit, you'll have a good view. It feels intimate even in a packed house. The Triple Door consistently books acts that are amazing--creative, fun, interesting, world-class, talented, out-of-the-ordinary, the kind of show that makes you really want to leave your home on a rainy Tuesday night and have a special night out on the town, just because. Their drinks are pretty tasty, which is a nice surprise. Some venues don't have great drinks because they know people will already come for the show, but the Triple Door has great wines by the glass, a solid scotch list, and tasty cocktails as well. If you're hungry, food comes from Wild Ginger. The service is outstanding. My servers have been friendly, fun, and knowledgable. This is the perfect spot for a date, or even a night out on the town with friends. I'll be keeping my eye on their event calendar!

We had dinner here in the lounge and it was horrific. Not only was the service just bad, there was a water leak in the ceiling and people climbing all over the water... The service was so incredibly slow, it took forever to get our food ordered and delievered. My husband got food posioning as well here, he had the phad thai. Its safe to say we will never return.

I had such a great, memorable time when my friends took me here. All the food we had was good and that night they had live Latin jazz on stage! A lot of people were dancing and the vibe was awesome. Our server was so friendly, it felt as if we were her regulars, even though this was our first time being served by her. Hearing that we were having dinner because I was moving overseas for awhile, she brought out a cute, warm molten chocolate cake with a candle! Awesome!!! Needless to say, we all had a great time that night.

Hands down, my favorite venue in Seattle. I have been here so many times and there is not a bad seat in the house. The candlelight, the starry backdrop, the food and drinks during the show... it makes for an all-around pleasant experience. There's only one catch - if you're looking for great food, you might want to get dinner elsewhere and come here for drinks and dessert. The food here is mediocre at best. Definitely a venue I would recommend though!

This review is for the downstairs part of the Triple Door stage. Let me explain. The Triple Door overall is a nice place, decent food, music sound is ok. But for what they're trying to do, they're severely lacking. They are trying to come across as a very nice place to enjoy food, alcohol and live music - you can tell that by the prices of everything. But the food I've had there (two vegetarian dishes, one of which was the pad thai) was really not that great, the wine we ordered last time we went was severely off, and there are so many waiters/waitresses rushing back and forth that it's hard to ever get a really good uninterrupted glimpse of the show. A friend of mine ordered the pad thai for me, and the waitress didn't ask how I wanted it (and rushed off too quickly for me to tell her I wanted it vegetarian), and when I received it, it had shrimp on it. At the time it was no big deal because I occasionally eat seafood, but when we received the bill, I found that by default they gave me the most expensive version of the pad thai, without even asking me if I wanted to spend a couple extra dollars. Then when our wine was off, we asked for a different bottle and they eventually had to give us a different brand, and then put both bottles on the bill (we made them take the first one off). And then finally, when it was time to get our bills the waiter was ringing up literally 15 bills at once and took way too long to come back to us. We were left waiting for 15 minutes or more for our bill. Unacceptable. If you want to see a band you like, go somewhere else.

For dinner and Nanci Griffith July 20. Nice table, but our waiter, James, MIA a good portion of the evening. Very slow food service. Ordered noodles not spicy, but came with considerable chilies. He said to just remove them. Unadvertised warm-up act started 7:30, then a break; Nanci didn't come on until 8:20. She played for one hour, seemed depressed and angry about political situation, left stage without thanking audience or returning for bow or any encore, despite 10 minutes of cheering. Mediocre food and poor service by Triple Door; unprofessional conduct by Nanci Griffith. We won't be returning anytime soon.

A decent cocktail to be had in the lounge, but the concerts can be terrible, due to poor wait staff, varying acoustic quality by seats, and sometimes obnoxious neighboring patrons. Last time I went, the performer sat so far back on the stage I couldn't see them from my side seat, the waitress ignored the request to re-seat us, the people next to us took continuous photography with an audible shutter, and the manager didn't care at all when we complained. Not worth the over-priced tickets if you can't change your seat when things go poorly. Needs to work on customer service.

i'm out on the west coast for the next few weeks following around a musician, joseph arthur. the second stop on the tour was two nights at the triple door in seattle. fancy fancy venue with prices to match, but it was pretty worth it. just about everything was delicious, from the sound quality to the view to the local wines to the food (the salt and pepper squid was amazing). i'm only taking off one star because the sound was way quieter than i liked, and the wine was mad pricey, and there was a small issue with our reservation which the friendly staff quickly cleared up. i'd definitely come back here. just wish it were a wee bit louder!

I love the Triple Door! Every time I've been here (6 times now), the staff has gone out of their way to be courteous and to ensure that I and my group had a great time. They genuinely make you feel welcome. The venue itself is beautiful, with great acoustics and seating all around, and the food is great! Try the potstickers and the salt-and-pepper squid. With so many places around that serve just so-so food and treat customers like they're an inconvenience, the Triple Door really stands out. Highly recommended!

I was staying at a nearby hotel and asked the doorman where I should go for some jazz, food, and cocktails- he suggested the Triple Door and I'm glad he did. I ended up seeing the Waifs downstairs, never heard of them before but man, that was a good move on my part. Good folksy rock from Australia, really liked them. There were no seats left so the stragglers (including me) had to stand in the back where the waitresses ignore you. Maybe you only get service if you're sitting at a table? That was lame considering I paid as much as everyone else to get in and see the band. I took my little ass upstairs and ordered a drink at the bar, the bartender was fast and she got a big fat monetary thank you from me for that! (unlike the server downstairs who ignored solo patron me). Went back down to enjoy the rest of the show, then headed back up to the bar for another cocktail I asked the bartender to make my signature drink, a BGL (big girl lemonade) and she kindly obliged. I saw her muddling fresh lemon and limes, pouring the vodka, mixing it up---YEAH! Now that's service!! I worked in restaurants for a LLLLOOONNNNG time and I get it, I know the hell the service industry can be and the shortcuts some bartenders make but not this one...I was one very happy camper!

Needs a standing room and dancing area right by the stage. If you don't order dinner early you don't get the best seats. Very little interaction between other concert goers. Decent bathrooms, like they are here, shouldn't be the exception when going to hear live music, but unfortunately it generally is. Better to have twice as many people at a gig paying half the price they sometimes end up paying here. Jazz Alley is the same but much worse. Decent live music experiences shouldn't just be for the well off.

the last time i was at triple door, it was to see dita von teese sponge off in a huge martini glass (worth every penny). this time, an acquaintance's birthday brought us back to the musiquarium lounge out front - a fusion of bar, wild ginger apps, and live music. upon entering, a horridly loud muzak band was playing, like nails on a chalkboard. near the entryway, a hooker straddled a businessman on the front couch. the rest of the bar crowd seemed old and uninteresting. to dull the pain, i ordered a fernet and coke, but the strong pour just seemed to make everything more intense. as though things couldn't get worse, one of the party patrons was a creepy older man who felt entitled to taste everyone's drink, gloat about his army background, and grope at a poor girl's shirt while attempting to uncover her tattoo. it was an evening of epic fail proportions.

Well the music is always 5 star in the Musaquariam...but the service is in the negative for star ratings. I've been there three different times with different people, male and female and have had terrible service at the bar. First off this has always been a sunday night for salsa and I think there's a lack of staff for behind the bar. Everytime I've been I have ordered fod and drinks so it's not like I'm not spending any money there but...why the heck is it so hard to get some dang water??? I swear I was there on Nov 23rd and my friend had to ask for water 3 times..really ?and when she finally got it they talked smack about her! I heard them and I read lips well so eventhough it's loud I know what they where up to. RUDE and no reason for it. We came in with smiles on our faces eventhough it took us 20 minutes to find parking and we ordered Martini's and food and still the chicks where not nice. If people in the restaurant business work for $8.07-9 an hour and rely on tips then they have to work for them, it means: To Insure Prompt Service! and BE NICE, so enjoy your $2 tip ladies, you didn't even diserve that.

Great venue with great sight lines all around. A little bit weird hearing forks clink during a concert, but all-in-all a good experience. Lemolo played a great set here for the City Arts Festival. Sound was great at the venue, and service was solid all across the board.

The show I saw here last night was AMAZING!! On a scale of 1-5 it was a 10 star experience! The energy in the show, the vocal qualities, and the... Yeah.... my bad.... this is about the venue.... not the performer. Oops. For starters, the venue is so gorgeous and clean! Like many other people have pointed out this is a very upscale environment (for Seattle) and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Accoustics were good and even at the back (thankfully I wasn't there but wouldn't mind if I was) there was a great view of the stage. While not everyone enjoys Wild Ginger food I DO!!! And being able to inhale the AMAZING duck made my experience that much better. While Triple Door isn't necessarily cheap (especially when you factor in drinks and food) the tickets themselves are way reasonably priced.... $25 or so per ticket for the show I saw. Food/drink bill was around $100 for two people and when you add in ticket prices you're looking at $150ish.... definitely not something to do on a weekly basis, but when you look at events at Key Arena or any large U.S. tour you're looking at $50 something per ticket.... so really with Ticketmaster charges you're looking at like $80 a ticket.... so this was a steal since it was an intimate, high quality venue with delicious food and drink. So why 4 stars and not 5? Service was subpar at best and waaaayyyyy intrusive. The constant clatter of dishes and silverware and servers interrupting you to inquire if you need anything. BTW I've hit up the loungey section of Triple Door on numerous occasions and always have had good drinks and service!

The Triple Door is awesome. The food from the Wild Ginger upstairs is amazing if you take a chance and order nonstandard dishes! Order normal dishes, get normal food. Drinks were great, the show we saw was INCREDIBLE, service was good, atmosphere was perfect for a burlesque show. The best time in a long time!

Wow. This place is terrific. Wonderful atmosphere, amazing food, and terrific service. If you're trying to decide whether or not to attend an event here, do yourself a favor and buy the tickets. You will not regret it. I've been here 3 times, and every time has been as excellent as the last. There is not a bad seat in the house. I bought last-minute tickets to a show and had to sit at the back of the room. I still had a great view of the stage, and I had no complaints about my spot. I was surprised at how good the "worst" seats really were. The staff is top-notch. Each server gave great suggestions on both food and drinks. Thanks to them I discovered some great new dishes. The food itself is Asian-fusion from the restaurant next door (the name of which escapes me now). Great and surprising combinations of flavors. The sound system is perfect. Not too loud, not too quiet. The people manning the boards really know what they're doing, and the sound is perfect. Bravo to them. Overall, this place is a class act. It's a little on the expensive side, but I find that by the end of the night the experience has more than justified the premium price. I look forward to my next visit.

After a long absence from the Triple Door, I was just there for a private concert and not only was the venue itself incredible like I remember but the service was really amazing too. Professional service at the door, getting everyone seated, they print out a piece of paper to remind you where you sit and on it, it had when I was last there. With all of the people moving around, with various drinks and food orders they kept our checks straight which is very cool. The prices of the food has seem to gotten pricier from my last visit but the prices of the drinks didn't seem to change. Still a great space to go and enjoy a concert. The only down side is the check-in process for the show is a little slow since they have to check each individual party via their computer system and when you are all dressed up and it is nasty outside it can be a little annoying.

Ok food, great stage, great sound, great lights. Like the oval seating. Agree with all seats being great. Menu over priced and not exciting and doesn't pull off the "over-swanky"ness comment that "Assman" also mentioned. But if you wanna see a show - def see it here. Spendy but good drinks.

Been to this venue twice recently and both times were excellent. I strongly recommend paying the extra $40 in the form of a food/beverage credit, getting there a little early and enjoying the food from The Wild Ginger. Then, plan to stay a little after the event and hit the Musiquarium for a local band! So, the first event was a concert -The Church. Nice intimate venue, good acoustics, great place for a concert. The second was Through the Looking Glass - a burlesque take on Alice In Wonderland! What a fun show!! Highly recommend you take a peak at what appears to be a thriving Burlesque niche in Seattle if you get the chance and enjoy laughing. Can't wait for my next Triple Door/Wild ginger experience!!

I came here last year for the burlesque Nutcracker which was amazing! I don't think there's a bad seat anywhere! I'm putting together my list of friends to attend again this year and we're making it an annual tradition. I recommend coming here for ANY show. They have such a great venue and their food is pretty good too!

I went here 4th of July weekend to see the Atomic Bombshells for my friend's birthday-what a fun show! I kept thinking it would be a smaller, dirtier venue but I was super shocked to see how big and clean and formal it was. Every group had their own circle booth (4 fit comfortably, 5 is a tight squeeze) so you can sit back, sip your cocktails and enjoy the show. They serve food from the Wild Ginger right next door. Right before the show started, I put in an order for the duck. Unfortunately I had to eat in the dark and I couldn't really see what the meal looked like but it certainly was tasty! The waiter was pretty attentive and kept our drinks coming the whole show. Definitely a very cool venue and if I actually lived in Seattle, I would surely be back again!

I am torn about my rating of The Triple Door because the venue is so amazing, but the service is so terrible. I settled on two stars because of the awful service being as bad as it was. I called to confirm my tickets and after significant run around, including them telling me that I didn't have any, got my tickets confirmed. When we got to the show, the same thing happened. Now, I understand system gliches, but these employees were very, very rude. Once we got seated in what was a very quiet show, the waiter very loudly asked us what we wanted while standing in front of the performer; this happened several times. For such a beautiful venue, the service completely takes away from that. See any artist that comes here somewhere else or be prepared to deal with the rudest people imaginable.

My boyfriend once won tickets to a benefit performance here, and we had a pretty good time and enjoyed the venue and staff. It was a little pricier than we had expected at the time (about $50 for 1 appetizer, 2 dinners, 1 beer), but the atmosphere is worth it. (Personal note: I've had plenty of amazing Thai food at places where it's about $7-8 a plate and the only difference I've so far seen in the "higher end" Thai restaurants is that they generally give you smaller portions and have fancier decorations.) The food: I remember having a delicious mushroom appetizer, but that we ended up leaving almost the entire plate of phad thai uneaten. It didn't taste like what we expect from phad thai, and it got much worse as it got colder. That was 2-3 years ago, though, so perhaps it's gotten better?

The Musicquarium lounge/bar serves food from Wild Ginger (so it's kind of hit or miss, but overall pretty good for bar food) and good drinks, though kind of pricey. There's a nice (and often completely packed) happy hour. The service is decent, but sometimes kind of slow. So why the five stars? The music. Outside of the actual music venue which attracts big named acts, the lounge features smaller unknowns with copious amounts of talent and energy. There are often two acts a night, playing while you drink and eat and make merry, for FREE. And these are not some so-so bands brought in to make background noise, but real, bona fide, talent worth a long listen. There is a nice vibe going on here with a relatively youthful but urbane crowd. I don't know if there's another venue like this in Seattle. A+.

Not much to add since I'm the 90th reviewer, but hopefully here's a few helpful tidbits: 1. Food is from Wild Ginger. I've always found it to be decent but if you check out the Health Dept's website you may be scared: decadeonline.com/insp.ph… 2. Service is never that great. On my last trip in July the waitress was a bit odd and mostly acted like we were annoying her. On Monday we were left unattended for seriously almost an hour. 3. Try the "Ruby, My Dear"!! OMG DELICIOUSNESS!! (Ruby Red Absolut, Triple Sec, Campari, OJ) 4. I've never seen a show at Triple Door but heard only good things so perhaps I should. A friend saw a burlesque show here over the summer and said it was amazing.

When you see a show here go with a group of 4-5 and reserve a booth, front and center. Dress in your Seattle casual swank. If you park in the garage down the block do not forget to bring your ticket stub with you to reenter (it acts like a key card to open the door after hours). Check your coat with the hostess. Order cocktails (watch the price of wine if you are ordering by the glass). Order food (avoid the boar satay but don't miss the Mongolian Triple chops). Enjoy the polite, attentive and professional wait staff. Great place to see a show !!!!!!

I went to The Triple Door last night as a 'girls night out.' We were so excited to see a burlesque show, but the excitement wore off about an hour after we were seated. The venue was amazing, our waiter was GORGEOUS, but that didn't not make up for the lack of service. It took us an hour and a half to get appetizers, and then they served us all our drinks, but forgot my friends. The show itself was kind of uncomfortable, and not because of the nipple pasties. The story they were going off of is about a French man who hit a 15 year old girl with his car, and then they fell in love. And it's about this girls sexual journey into womanhood. Needless to say, they had her chained to a bed at one point, with five guys rubbing their hands all over her. It felt like a portrayal of gang rape. Bottom line, the first half of the show was fun, second half weird. I will definitely go see another show there, but now I know not to expect good service.

I went to see Cutis Salgado last month and had an excellent time! Great seats, great acoustics, great venue, lighting, ambiance, etc. And the tickets where only $18! Our server was new but we only knew that because she told us. We had lots of drinks and some appetizers. I'm not sure why everyone acts like the food from the Wild Ginger is all that because it isn't. We had the shorts ribs, good, the pot stickers, good, the Budha rolls, boring, and the shrimp skewers, horrible. The next time I go, I will skip the appetizers and just go for the show and the drinks. Hopefully Curtis returns soon! If you haven't seen him, you're soooo missing out!

The venue itself is pretty badass. Dining on yummy Thai things while watching Otmar Liebert was truly an experience. We reserved a 2nd row booth which was the perfect spot; great view of the stage. I was very impressed with how friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable the staff and servers were. Take a look at that amazing wine list; they have their own wine cellar! Great selection. The food was delicious and portions were large. I'm really surprised to read some of the negative food reviews. Tasted like Thailand! Except for that cheese plate we ordered as a starter. As expected, it tasted very French :-) Also (and this really shows the extent to which their staff will go to please)...our waiter overheard me say that we were there to celebrate my father's birthday and after our meal brought us delicious ice cream with brownies, topped with meringue cookie crumbles and chocolate covered espresso beans! Very unexpected and very sweet. Capped off the night with a bang! And a phone number in his back pocket.

I saw an awesomely fun burlesque show here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed myself. The theater they have for stage performances is really beautiful inside and it's intimate but also large enough so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of everyone. I was a little disappointed by the cocktail menu and the drink I had was just okay. If there's a show you want to see at the theater, I'd definitely recommend going but I'd recommend eating somewhere else prior to and only having a drink or two because they really aren't worth the high price.

Love this place! You can check out my reviews and can be sure that i can be very critical if i don't like something. I like this place. You will too, i think. Food is delicious, service is friendly if sometimes busy, drinks are strong, hot tea is strong. Has live jazz music - not the saxophone jazz, but cool fast young kind of jazz. Has room for dancing, but only the free spirited ones dance - a good thing.

A-freaking-MAZING. I declare this THE most stunning venue in Seattle. Remember in Titanic when Jack walked through the doors on the ship to find a whole different world? It was like that for me. It simply took my breath away. I've been to The Triple Door a few times prior, but I have never been through those secret doors. I knew that live bands play there, but it was beyond anything and everything I had ever expected. Unlike the Paramount where you HAVE to purchase floor seats to truly experience the show, you experience the show when you walk in. It's such an intimate space that it felt as if Tyrone Wells was singing to me (and only me). The service was superb, the lighting was perfect--and if there was any fung shui, it was on point. I could feel the energy. We didn't have dinner (which is pretty...okay quite pricey) but I know it's good because I could smell it! And if it's the same food served in the lounge, then I'm sure it's delicious. I had their signature cocktail (forgot the name but it's the first one on the list). I was told to try a specific type of gin...Hendrix gin? Something like that. If you get that drink, let it sit for a few minutes so that the pickles are infused into the drink. Next time--because there WILL BE a next time--I'm going to try one of their ginger cocktails. Sounds yummy. Good for Dates? A good (now even better) friend invited me to the Tyrone Wells show (because I have such great taste in music) and it was such a wonderful experience--all thanks to great company, good music and the energy of the space. But you know, I'd probably go again with anyone that would to take me. I love this place! Seriously--if you're going to take a lady to The Triple Door MAKE SURE you take her to a show. Let me repeat myself: TAKE HER TO A SHOW...not a show in the lounge...but a real LIVE show. She'll appreciate it--and if she doesn't she has horrible taste in life. Good for Girls' Night? I'm going to find out!

I have to disagree with the reviewers who have said "there is not a bad seat in the house". There are, and we sat in them. If you're going to see a musician who sits or stands at the front of the stage the entire time, you're probably fine wherever you sit. But if you're going to see cabaret / variety, do NOT sit in the seats way to the side at the front. You will see at most 30 per cent of the action. The performers use the whole stage (as they should), and you see nothing of what goes on beyond the level of the curtain. I'd like to see reductions on the ticket price for these seats. The numbers to avoid are: 106, 108, 109, 306, 308, 309. (305 and 105 might be iffy, too.) We have had great service on the other 2 times we've been here (hence the 4 stars), but our experience on this cabaret night was disappointing. Our drinks took half an hour to arrive, we never got our vegetables, and we got white rice when we'd ordered brown. Overall the staff seemed harried and overworked that night. But in general this is a great, elegant place for a fancy date.

3 stars for food that was inconsistent and unremarkable. 4 stars for concert environment and service. 2 of four dishes I had were good. I saw Jon Anderson here and the acoustics and atmosphere were great. Prices are too high for food.

Why does this always happen to me? I walk into a bar with my friends, looking for a good time, and suddenly I notice I'm in a room with 40+ year-old white people. Don't you just hate it when that happens? Some say it's because we're snotty richies in our early thirties, so we like things only people twice our age can afford and appreciate. I think it's because we just know where the quality alcohol is served. The problem with these types of places is that the people who work/go here need to play the parts... the upscale cocktail waitress who acts all swanky and gets hit on by the 60 year-old business man, just so she can get a really nice tip... the group of six 40-something co-workers celebrating someone's birthday with a round of Dewar's on the rocks... the jazz band whose members pretend they're playing in a back alley in Harlem... they're all here. If that's your scene, then by all means, this is your place. But if you want the laid back grown up kind of atmosphere without the pretense, look elsewhere.

I really want to give the Triple Door 5 stars, I really do but I am going to have to go with 4.5. And here is why. 1) The food is a bit overpriced. Don't get me wrong, it is good food, but portions are a bit small and not life-altering like the rest of the experience. 2) The lineup. Unless you really like the type of music they have here regularly (which isn't bad, just not the kind I go to see), you won't have a reason to come here often. 3) They don't list/advertise all their shows in their e-mails. This is unlike the Showbox and Neumos which list the new shows at the top and all shows by date below. This means you have to check their website to be able to easily find all the shows that are happening. That is how I found the Aqualung show today. But other than that, this place is magical. The ambiance is great, the sound is incredible, you get drinks and food brought to you during the show, the lighting is nice and low but still allows you to eat, and every seat has a great view of the stage. This has to be one of the most magical venues in Seattle. Which makes me wonder, why haven't I ever made out with anyone here?

I'm not a big fan of Wild Ginger, so it's not surprising that I wouldn't be too impressed by Triple Door. I went here for happy hour, and it's just another wannabe hip, trendy, downtown place with overpriced asian-fusion food. You can get better food down the street in the International District for half the price. We had the duck sliders...go get some duck at Kau Kau instead. A rice bowl for $8...get better ones for less than $5 at Uwajimaya. The pot stickers were mediocre. The various meat skewers were good, but overpriced. Service was alright, but I wonder why they were so eager to take away our plates when we are barely done with each item. I suppose maybe the attraction to this place is the entertainment? There was a band that started playing...but it was nothing extraordinary...

I have been a fan of the Triple Door since it opened in 2004, but it seems like the further and further they get from their opening the service seems to decline. My husband and I went for happy hour because I love the fragrant duck from Wild Ginger and they are more than half the price for happy hour, but we had to wait outside well after 4pm when they were to be open. We told the girls in the ticket booth outside it was after 4pm but they were not much help. When a sound person opened the door for a smoke we asked are you open? He responded at 4pm, we said it is after 4pm. We got inside they were still setting up the bar. Needless to say we did get our duck buns which were yummy, but I guess when you go for happy hour you also get the happy hour service too.

Ok, I'll pile on the love for the Triple Door like everybody else. I've never seen a show in the theatre, so my review is only applicable to the bar. First the food is great (for a bar). I think they share a kitchen with Wild Ginger so there's access to all the great satays from Wild Ginger. The kitchen is also open until midnight so there's some fine dining late at night. The biggest downside of sharing the kitchen with Wild Ginger is that the food at Wild Ginger has gotten really stale. I don't think they've had any changes to the menu in about 5 years. So while the food is great for Triple Door, not so great for Wild Ginger. Anyhoo... In general I've always had good service here. Sometimes if you're in a booth, you may not see a waitress. So the best thing to do after you get a booth is to let a waitress know where you are at. Otherwise, plan for some self service. The drinks here are pretty good. Lots of fun drinks, but can be a bit weak. Maybe it depends on the bartender? Cuz my compadres said their drinks were strong. Or maybe I'm slowly becoming an alcoholic (again)... I kid. I don't think I've had a bad time at the Triple Door yet. I've been here with a small crowd of 3-4 to a big crowd of 15-20. It's been fun every time. The live music is often fun and perfect for the atmosphere. But when the band's done playing I would like them to turn the house music up a little bit. But that's a minor nit pic in what's usually an awesome time.

Some friends and I went to the Triple Door to eat dinner and take in a show. I was impressed with how well the theater was arranged; we had a table at the very back of the theater and yet none of us had any trouble viewing the stage, despite the fact that some of us are just barely over 5 feet. I was amused by the names of the cocktail drinks, and greatly enjoyed the one I tried, called "the Rickshaw." Our group started the meal by sharing some satay plates. While we were unimpressed with the boar (we agreed it tasted like any generic, grilled meat), we loved the marinated beef and accompanying peanut sauce. I was very excited to order the Wild Ginger Fragrant Duck since I love the rich flavour of duck meat and the dish read like a spiced variant on Peking Duck. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the dish was completely overwhelmed by the saltiness of the meat. I could not detect even hints of the anise and cinnamon promised in the dish description. Texture-wise, the duck was cooked well, but I found I had to heap cilantro onto each bun in order to simply tone down the saltiness. My sister ordered the other dish I had been seriously considering, the Seafood Thai Noodles. I did not taste her food while we were at the Triple Door, but I did have some of the leftovers the next day. I was surprised and disappointed to note that her dish was also dominated by a salty flavour. I expect soy sauce and salt-saturated meals from fast food asian restaurants, but not from a restaurant as well-reviewed as Wild Ginger. Our group was not particularly impressed by the show we saw, but we did appreciate the ambiance of the theater. We'll probably be back to see shows in the future, but will stick to drinks and appetizers/dessert.

The Triple Door is swanky, and you pay for it. The drinks are expensive, but good, with a lovely selection of top shelf alcohols to choose from. (And why not, when you're paying a premium anyways). The food is very good, but that's really not the reason to go there in my opinion. The music tends to be good and the bar area is usually free. I find it a nice escape from some of the more divier bars that I'm more frequently at, where you pay extra for your drinks for the sake of a more mellow atmosphere.

I'm becoming more of a fan of the 3x Door. They've always had a beautiful venue, but got started a bit rough as far as process went. I'm happy to say that my last few times visiting the Triple Door have gotten much better! The staff is friendly, seems much more efficient. Food is still super yummy (Wild Ginger!). If you're like me and (almost) gave up on the Triple Door years back, I say go back again! Great food, great staff, great entertainment and a beautiful venue.

I won tickets to a concert at The Triple Door through KBCS 91.3, and I the minute I walked into the auditorium I was struck by just how unique this venue is. Tiered seating in curved booths allow you to order food and drinks to enjoy while you listen to the concert. It was a bit odd as the place was a little empty the night I went, and it felt strange to eat at a classy, candle lit booth facing a stage, but I got over it and enjoyed the music--which was a wonderful group called Mozaik with a Celtic guitar player whose name escapes me. Their Irish and Eastern European music was lively and engaging--I bought two CDs. The Triple Door features folk and world-music performers that don't get a lot of face time within the local music scene, but they're great musicians, and it's wonderful that they get to play in such a nice venue.

We went here for Happy Hour, since the Fiance went here with his co-workers for a going away party, he way dying to take me here. So we went here one summer evening. It was hot and muggy outside. Cocktails were in order. I don't remember what the heck I ordered at the first get go. I think it had mangos...LOL I had another one of those, along with some appetizers. We had the salt and pepper squid. They were so good we had another round of them. The calamari was tender and not at all chewy. We then had some Chinese BBQ pork. It was also flavorful, tender and hit the spot. We ended our Happy Hour with a Grey Goose, and 7-up. LOL! I don't know why, but it was pretty good...almost like a vodka tonic. Our waiter looked like Triple H from the WWE, but he was German. The fiance and I were getting a kick out of the group of older business woman who were way buzzed and feeling up on him, and trying to get free drinks. That was a site in itself. LOL! I love the Musiquarium. Very laid back and nice. I will have to look for shows being hosted here soon. I forgot to mention that drinks were pretty nice and strong. We felt that heat headache once we started walking around downtown!

OMG! Saw Adelle last night, first time at the Triple Door and I was in awe. Beautiful, great seats and the service awesome. Adelle's voice was strong and she sang with a guitarist and pianist only. It was a beautiful night and event. Can't wait to go back for other venues.

I thought I liked the Triple Door a lot more at one time but, when I was there for the Houses of the Unholy show last Saturday, I was totally disappointed. It seems like they have had enough venues there that they could have made the flow of people in and out much easier. We waited in a long line just to get our voucher for seating. Then we entered the bar area to wait for the show to start. It was nearly impossible to get at drink. As I understand the bartenders were busy, they could acknowledge someone that is standing and facing the bar waiting for a drink. One of the bartenders went back to people sitting at the bar 2 times before I was served. We ordered food during the show that was surprisingly pretty bland. Then there was the show to top it off....not so good. I was expecting much more burlesque dancing! The band and singers and our seats, I must say, were great. Just hope Triple Door works on these things.

Came here on a Thursday, they usually have live bands on Thursdays. The place is chill and very welcoming. Foods a bit pricey, but everything we ate was worth it. Service was a little slow.

I went here for a friend's birthday party. I had never been and was pretty excited. The venue is pretty cool although a lot of the decor when you ar heading down looks like it is held together with bubble gum and scotch tape. The music for the night was fantastic. Unfortunately, the food was horrible and the drinks were extremely watered down. If I were to do it again, I would go just for the show and drink beers during. A total let down. Thank goodness the acts were as good as they were. Won't be giving this one another shot for a very long time. The potential to be good exists, but just wasn't realized in my visit.

Went here for a fundraising event and triple door made special cocktails for the band. The staff was very friendly and the bathrooms were clean. I will definitely come back.

I came for the Entertainment and Dining experience. The food was great. Drinks were good, service was mediocre. The band was outstanding there is extremely tight dance floor. The venue ended too soon i feel like a high school kid with a cerfew

The thing about the Triple Door is, they are awesome if you remove the food from the equation. I learned that my last visit (which was a shamefully long while ago). There food is done by Wild Ginger (see my review on them for my full opinions), and leaves me frustrated at best. The venue itself, however, rocks. Upscale, spendy, but definitely a place to impress. The seating is comfortable. The temperature is kept pretty constant. The music is always awesome. It's intimate without being crowded and pretentious without being off-putting. All and all, if you ignore the food, its a great jazz club.

**This review is for the musicquarium happy hour** It was an OK experience. The food was very overpriced for the amount they give you. $5 for 6 chicken wings that were hardly bigger then peanuts. I laughed so hard at the look on my bf's face when they set them on the table lol! Saw other people with the $4 satays. Yes thats 4 bucks for one piece of meat on a stick. Our order of sicuhan green beans was a good size but then again $5 for a plate of beans? All the food was full of flavor though. Their beers were a good price at $3 but they only had four to choose from and only one that I preferred to drink. I would like to come back to catch a show but I would get my eats and drinks elsewhere.

Under the Milkyway tonite! We saw the Church put on an Amazing show in this Amazing venue. Wow, the Triple Door was so much better than I realized! I had been in the top level bar before I just never made it downstairs for a actual show. We had a great night and I just wanted to log in and give it 5 stars. :) Fantastic views from all the seats, great sound quality, expert staff, awesome wine list, tasty drinks, ok food.. just a lil pricey to me but the lamb skewers really stood out as the best item I had here. Everyone in Seattle should attend a show here at least once, it is worth the splurge for a special occasion live music act for sure. I can't wait to return some evening. Tip: Good Happy Hour with discount drinks and snacks!

Yuppy scum. For reasons unknown to me this place was actually crowded. We were there this past Friday on the recommendation of the doorman at our hotel. I've never seen a more concentrated collection of Men's Warhouse suits outside of the actual store. It wasn't a total sausage party but the women there seemed to be an average collection of collagen and silicone that you would expect to find in a place full of middle aged wannabes. Full disclosure here, I'll take a dive bar over a yuppy lounge every time, however, I don't normally have the immediate and visceral negative reaction like I did with this place. The food I think is prepared offsite which explains the temperature when it arrives at your table, is Wild Ginger in Ballard? The sound of the live music was good but band was a little too hootie and the blowfish for my tastes. This place has what could be described an economy of personality. I like bars, food and people with personality. Don't bother

I love this historical venue, having been a Vaudeville house, a movie theater, a porn palace and today's upscale bulwark of fine entertainment. AMBIANCE: None better my Yelpians. Superior blend of modern touches morphing cleverly with the ancient stage. SOUND AND SIGHT: Great sight lines, not a bad view in the house and the acoustics are wonderful. COMFORT: Very tight seating and cramped in some areas, so get there early for the better seats. Also, the chairs need more cushy, as tushy can get very uncomfortable over time. FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE: Both excellent if not outstanding. My Spanish coffee was perfect, the Thai influenced food fresh and tasty. the seven flavor beef and pot stickers are must tries. Down side, the menu hasn't changed in years and if you're a regular like me, a little variety or some specials would be nice. TIPS: Arrive early and pace yourself over dinner. Order an appetizer, followed by another, then an entree. Also, the half bottles of wine are a nice bargain if you are so inclined. If Rachel is working, ask for her, she's terrific and she works the front rows! After the main show, stay to watch the free live music as the Musicaquarium lounge. Talent is usually excellent. Also, use valet parking and have them put it on your bill. Its $11, while near by garage parking is $8.00, so its a deal. Its fast and efficient! A full dinner with drinks and appetizers will set you back $150 with tip,not including show tickets.

This is a review only for the upper bar portion of the Triple Door. So many people have already reviewed the place, so I'll just add a haiku: Tasty mojitos Expensive and salty food Look, aquarium! (Also, it's classy and convenient to Benaroya Hall. I would go back!)

Disclaimer: This review is strictly for the food at the Triple Door. Go see a show here--you won't be disappointed. I've eaten at The Triple Door for a show and for a quick dinner before seeing a speaker at Benaroya. I've also been to Wild Ginger (where the food is prepared) and the food is pretty much identical so this review applies to both. The food is generally okay, though some dishes reach "really tasty" (Seven Flavor Beef comes to mind). But my GOD what they charge for this stuff makes my eyes water. It is so expensive for the quality of the food, and I've yet to have a dish that was particularly innovative. I'd compare the food to upper-level takeout, which means they're charging two or three times as much as they should--and if you're eating in the Musiquarium the atmosphere isn't THAT great. If you're seeing a show you already bought a ticket, so what they hell am I paying so much for? It sure ain't the food. Anyhow, the drinks are just okay. The service is all right, and by that I mean I've had adequate service as well as brusque, distracted, "I really don't give a damn" service. Not impressive, but not horrible by any stretch. The atmosphere of the Triple Door lounge ("Musiquarium") is cool and comfortable, if a bit too dark at the booths (perhaps good for a date, though). The stage room is awesome, so they've got that going for them. It's definitely worth going to a show here, and if you're prepared to get ripped off the food is adequate and sometimes pretty tasty. Unfortunately I haven't tried some of the most appetizing-sounding things on the menu because of their prices--I'm just not confidant at all that I'd feel like I would get the quality of food I paid for.

I'm going to write this review tentatively, because I've heard from reliable sources that this is a great venue, but if I based my conclusion on my first and only experience at the Triple Door, I'd give it the dreaded 1 star. To start out, man, I hate it when I have to begin with such a phrase... The kid who took my call about tickets to the show was kinda rude. When we arrived at the venue, he was just as rude in person, like "what-the-heck-do-you-want-get-out-of-my-face" sort of deal. We then arrive at the host's desk. She examines our tickets and tells us that the guy sold us tickets to the wrong show, but, to be gracious, she'll refund us the full amount charged. Sweet, no convenience fee for cancelling the charge for selling us the wrong tickets?!? How nice of them! So she sends us back to the guy to buy tickets again, but doesn't offer us a receipt for the refund, which I thought was strange. Less surprising, we found out later that the refund wasn't credited to the account. Grrr. Our host sat us in the very back corner, uncomfortably close to another couple, facing the side back wall no less. I understand that we showed up right before the showtime, but there were still plenty of comfy booths left facing the stage. Grr again. We ended up asking a random waiter if we could move to a booth, which he had to ask his manager about. We aren't the type to just move tables, but seriously, they were terrible seats.... he returned about 15 minutes later and gave us the "ok". Ok... Our waiter was pretty nonchalant about our existence. I made the mistake of asking for a drink suggestion, explain that I was inexperienced in the category of mixed drinks. His suggestion was the "spicy thai margarita"... This was by far the worst part of the night. Firstly, it took about 30 minutes to get our two drinks. I don't know what could have made him think that this drink would be tasty to anyone, much less to someone without much of a taste for such concoctions. This drink was terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Seriously, barely drinkable it was so spicy. Blah. I would have told him this, but we didn't see him for at least an hour after he dropped the drinks off. By the end of the night, we had pretty much had it... I swear it was actually comical how bad the whole experience was. Alas, it the concert ended and our server returned to ask us if we wanted any dessert. Yes! Dessert! Something redeeming perhaps? We ordered a strawberry cheesecake sundae. Our waiter returned with our bill, no sundae. I asked if we were still going to be served dessert. He replied that I actually said "no we don't want any" instead of "strawberry cheesecake sundae". Now, I know that we didn't order much, but seriously, we paid $40 cover (oh wait, $84) and expected at least to be treated congenially. He agreed to add the sundae order even though the show was over. It arrived shortly, but again, no refund receipt from the original bill he charged to the card. You can guess what happened to this original charge, can't you? Overall, it was a sad, if not a tad comical experience. When another artist comes in to town that I'd like to see, I'll probably head over to the Triple Door and give them one. more. shot. That's it though. If we get overcharged again, no more patronage. Like they care... Thanks for listening.

This place. Expensive, watery drinks that are so sugary they leave you with a sickly headache and no buzz by the end of the night. When I pay 50 dollars for four basic cocktails and never taste any alcohol, I get a little pissy. Hey, maybe I should've stopped ordering at some point. Shows are hit or miss, and the waitresses sometimes appear obviously overwhelmed by how busy it can be; orders get mixed up and drinks are slow coming. Maybe it'd be better to hit this place around the dinner hour, but as a late night venue to be with friends and have a few drinks, I'd really rather not.

Food was fine. Nothing to complain about but it was really pricey for being just okay. Good drinks but again overpriced. Just not worth it. We were excited because we heard it was the same food as wild ginger upstairs but that this meal comes with music. You are much better off going to pink door for way better food and drinks that are actually worth the price and better music for that matter!

Even though I've been here many times, I've never come here to listen to music? Strange, I know, since it is one of the popular music venues in Seattle. This time around, it was for after dinner drinks and to meet up with a third friend. I have always liked coming to this place. It's one of the classier places in Seattle to grab a drink. With a relaxed, but swanky atmosphere, how could you go wrong? The food they offer of the Southeast Asian persuasion is good, yet a little pricey. Cocktails have always been good and they do offer a good wine selection. Service has always been good. No parking, but street parking and a valet. Yet, it's never discouraged me from going. Will be going back many times to come, I'm sure!!!

This place Rocks out with its cock out there really isn't much I can say that has not been said already about this place, but we went here last night and so saw THE NIGHT BEFORE SHOWGIRLS! THE MOVIE HOSTED BY THE STRANGER'S DAVID SCHMADER This place it perfect for a show or movie like we saw, there is not a bad seat in the house, and the sounds system is tops the food here is worth every dime you pay for it, very tasty and well presented, and the staff was great they were right on top of things, he told us how our food would be coming out and he kept on our drinks, we never ran out of booze or anything else

I would def go back to this place! The drinks were great and although I didn't have dinner the appetizers were delicious! I had the fried shrimp and calamari. Yummy! If I wasn't in public I would have drank the sauce and licked my fingers! Aside from the food the crowd was great and the live music was a great way to relax on a Friday evening.

Put a lid on it; what's that, you say? Saw a late-night Squirrel Nut Zippers show at the Triple Door recently. I don't like handing out five-star reviews, but we really had a good time. Caveats: *I typically like Wild Ginger food *Stephen J. purchased tickets early, so our seats were toward the front *Our attendance on a Monday night probably meant less competition for bar attention *We only ordered apps, so can't comment on the full dining experience *I expect to have to shell out more dinero at a place like Triple Door *I did order a pretty strong glass of booze, so my review could very well be under the influence We ordered cocktails and a couple satay appetizers in the bar while waiting for concert seating. The beverages were as requested, and mixed well. The Thai Chicken Satay ($3.25 ea) and Saigon Scallop Satay (2/$10.75) were excellent. I love scallops, but am always a little wary before consuming one, fearful of biting into a lump of cold rubber. Fear melted away as my teeth and taste buds were given a well-grilled treat. Service was quick and attentive; we were given a heads-up by staff as the concert start time approached. After thinking we would be having to share a booth with a couple other people, I was happy, instead, to sit in a chair, along a bar-like counter. There was a partition set up at the counter/table, but at a statuesque 5'2" I was able to see the show without issue. I'm sure we'll visit the Triple Door again when another concert we really want to see comes through, but, until then, I'll put a lid on it and save it for another night.

We were here for the Nightmare Before Halloween show on Oct. 29 - what I can tell you was the food was the highlight of the night! I started with a local hard cider which was delish! We had the green papaya salad - so fresh and yummy! Then we had the duck sliders - OMG! These were amazing and highlighted the awesomeness of the fatty duck. The salt and pepper squid was also amazing! We started eating in the restaurant and then continued while we watched the show. An awesome venue.

I would have to really, really, really want to see a specific performer to come back here. Here's why: 1) We came for a specific headliner, which was billed as 7:30pm start. Nowhere during our ticket purchasing or elsewhere on the site did they mention the opening act ends at 8:30pm, and you have to wait out an hour long intermission (an HOUR?!) to see the main act. That would have been nice to know earlier. 2) The food is terrible, and overpriced. I love Thai food, eat it often, and have traveled there. This is the McDonalds of Thai food. If you go to a show here, eat before you go. Seriously. 3) The service and atmosphere isn't anything special. I wasn't impressed by it. I'm sure that some shows here are better than others, but after my experience, I have to think that is due to the caliber of the performer, not the venue-some groups/artists are good enough to make any space feel special.

Can I just say that the bartenders are amazing! They definitely make it worth the trip in to go drink and eat at this place! It did take them some time to realize me as a regular so now the wait time is a bit faster for me! 1554 beer is great! Ordered the Budha rolls and this kom pot ribs double order... it was HH! Oh yeah the kung pao chicken was great! had a bite of my friends! The dj's always mix it up well w/music selection.

If i had the ability to write one review for the venue and one review for the show I'd do so... the show (Burlesque Nutcracker) was AMAZING and would have recieved 5 stars! Fun with a ton pasties, feathers, sequins and glitter just like a true burlesque show should be! The venue SUCKED! I've sat in some uncomfortable seats in my life but I will say these took the the cake for being the most uncomfortable seats ever, both our chairs were trying to throw us out of them in some fashion or another. The actual location of our seats was even worse, now regardless we called in our reservations late and apparently seating is based on a first call first served basis but this was awful! We were way in the back which I don't usually mind but when there's a WALL in front of your bar/table literally high enough that I at 5'4" tall had to sit very vertical with my leg under my bum to actually see the show I am not happy. The drinks were barely ok, the champagne cocktail was actually quite decent but the champagne was a touch flat! The Thai Spice Margarita was UNBEARABLY hot (and I love hot stuff!), so much so I abandoned it. The women next too us went in and out two or three times to "smoke" durring the show each time comign back reaking of "smoke" and talking loudly... they were actually planning what they were going to do tomorow complete with blackberries and paper planners... The waiters that passed by were pissed at them but didn't do anything to resolve the matter. Overall I was less then thrilled, only happy that I got to see a great show even though my back felt like i'd been on some sort of medieval torcher device for hours.

Saw Jennifer Coolidge here a few weeks ago and it was a treat. It's pretty much dinner theatre, as it's attached to the Wild Ginger and shares some of their menu. While the prices on the menu are a bit steep it's worth if for the quality of the food and cocktails. I would arrive 30-60 minutes before showtime if you want to have a leisurely dinner and cocktails before the show. There's not a bad seat in the house. You don't have to do dinner and drinks if you don't want to, but you would be missing out! The show itself was great. The sound and lighting were good, no complaints there. The venue is set up so that there's tables of varying sizes facing the stage. The seats we were in had a clear view of the stage and were very comfortable. It's easy to navigate around the tables if you have to go to the bathroom or get up during the show. As for food, I had the short rib satay and a side of Sichuan green beans. Divine! Heaven! The meat was cooked perfectly and the food was flavorful. I also indulged in some cocktails. They were delicious and boozy and not things you see at every bar - one of my cocktails even had pepper in it! The service was amazing and very attentive, without being intrusive. It did not detract from the experience at all. I hope that more of my favorite performers come to this venue. I want any reason to come back!

Been here a few times to see a couple of shows for a ladies night out. The whole ambiance was relaxing and really enjoyable. This would be a place I would go to for a night out with friends or with my husband instead of hanging out in a dance club that tends to be overly crowded with rude people once their alcohol kicks in. The food and drinks were good, too...a little pricey, though. There's a parking garage next door to the venue which is a plus since it sucks to find parking around downtown Seattle, especially on the weekends & at night.

Triple is right! Space, music and menu make the Triple Door a triple threat of a venue. For a recent amazing night of music with We Are Golden, we took in this spectacular venue and enjoyed every bit of it. The main concert area is a huge and gorgeous hall, with tiered booths inset into the walls leading down to the stage. Pre-show, we dined on cucumber and prawn salad, pot stickers and more - and of course had our fair share of gin, basil and lemon martinis. Service was spot on and friendly. The concert sounded fantastic - well mixed and when you have performers like that, you're bound to be blown away. I have grand dreams of returning again and again - and hosting an event here too!

been here a couple times for dinner and a show, and i have to admit that it's pretty awesome. with other options for dinner theater around the city, i have to say that this is my favorite. we have been here for "Land of the Sweets" for the past couple years and we always have an awesome time. we sit at the same table, and eat delicious asian-fusion food while we are entertained by talented performers. it is an awesome date night and a fabulous experience. it's comfortable. there isn't a bad seat in the house. the food is delicious and served in a timely manner--and you can eat while watching theater! what could be better?

Triple Door hosted a pre-symphony event here and they did an awesome job! Despite the food being a little late to the buffet table, it was worth the wait once it arrived. They laid out a spread of satays, potstickers, egg rolls and spare ribs that were delish. I didn't realize until after the event that all their food comes from Wild Ginger, upstairs. No wonder I loved it so much! My friends tried the coconut martini and the ginsing margarita and proclaimed them both strong and refreshing. I'd say that's a recommend. It was my first time here, but now that I've tested the waters, I'm excited to come back, try the rest of the menu, and see a show!

I've been here several times for happy hour over the last year or so. Generally, I have been pretty happy with it. The food is good, the prices fair and the service is generally decent. The last time I went though, April 6th, I sat at the bar and wasn't as impressed as normal. First of all, they have two red wines on happy hour and one was sold out. I know it happens but it was the cheaper of the two and I was feeling cheap :) It would've been nice if they'd had a replacement wine for it so you had more than one choice of reds and more than one price point. Secondly, they stopped serving one of the dishes that I love and one of the things that I go there for (chicken laab). So, again, my problem but bummed me out. Third, the peasant chicken kebab was listed on the happy hour menu but it's price on the happy hour menu is no different than it's price on the regular menu - another annoyance. Lastly, the bartender that we had near the end of our visit was fairly void of personality and it just made for an all-around so-so experience. I'm giving them three stars but hopefully after my next visit can bump it up to 4 as I think prior to this visit I would've given them 4. If anyone at Triple Door is listening, it would be awesome if you brought back the chicken laab!!! :)

FULL DISCLOSURE: this review is for the food only. The shows at the Triple Door never disappoint as the sound and the stage are outstanding. The food here is so unbearable and tepid I had to write after having yet another bad experience here. First, the menu is extensive and alluring yet the Triple Door manages to put out the least flavorful, undesireable, expensive asian food in Seattle. A group of five of us decided to share some plates, the buddah rolls (fresh goi guon type rolls), a beef dish, a vege curry with roti, phad thai and pan fried green beans. With the exception of the simple green beans, most dishes lacked flavors, were greasy (phad thai) or tasted of being rushed without much to them (curry). Again, these are very expensive dishes when compared to any other Thai or Vietnamese or for that matter, any other place so be warned - DO NOT EAT HERE! Also, it is a bit frustrating when you are there for a show and the server staff are scurrying around tables or worse, when I was there to see a silent movie in the past couple years.

Updated... This is still one of my favorite places to frequent for happy hour. They share the same kitchen with Wild Ginger, which has a more formal ambiance. Live music on Friday's is a bonus. I love this place. It's a bit dark, but the live music, great food, and drinks more than make up for it. Nice place to go on a Friday night after work.

I want to like the Triple Door, but I don't know what it is about it. I don't think the food is that great...I'm not a fan of Wild Ginger at all. Asian Fusion? Come on, make up your mind and pick an Asian culture, don't lump us all together! The smell of the food was actually making the boyfriend feel a bit queasy, so that's pretty bad. Overall the food just didn't seem appetizing to me at all, which was a bit of a problem since it was a work party and I was drinking and could have used some food in my system (no worries, I didn't get drunk and take my top off...at least, not that I can remember). I've been here a few times and have been in the back theater twice. Tonight I was there for a work holiday party/burlesque show (I know...it feels weird writing work and burlesque show in the same sentence. See above about taking my top off...). Anyhow, I'm not a huge fan of the theater either. I feel like there's always too much background noise that it just makes everything so loud and hard to hear and plain ol distracting. Plus, I hate that people are always walking in front of me. I appreciate the seating and having servers, but it gets annoying after a while to not be able to see. I'm 5 feet people, I know I'm going to have problems seeing at shows, but it doesn't help when I'm sitting at my seat and you're standing there in front of me and not moving. Down in front. Everyone was nice though, from the coat check, hostess, servers, and bartenders...so I really want to like this place...I just can't stand the food and the distractions of the theater.

My sister and I tried to take our mom to Wild Ginger, as it was listed on the web as having a gluten-free menu, and mom has celiac disease. We missed our reservation due to traffic, but the hostess sent us to the Triple Door, claiming that the menu was the same (though it seemed abbreviated). What's interesting about the GF menu is that it tells you to specify whether you have a true intolerance or not--maybe to weed out people who are dabbling in the gluten-free "trend" from those who will actually get severely ill from a trace amount of gluten (like my mom). For the latter, they apparently make more of an effort to avoid cross-contamination. This gave us a little pause, since it makes you wonder whether the cooks might be less than careful if they don't believe it really matters. Shouldn't they use the same standards for any dishes ordered GF? Anyway, there were a handful of GF options, including a curry or two, and my mom was happy with her seared tuna and veggies, which were actually seasoned, rare in the GF world. It's nice to see GF options other than naked salads. We shook our heads at the inclusion of bruschetta on the GF menu (bread is the most gluten-full food there is!), with its note that it would only be GF if you ordered it without the bread. Still, beggars can't be choosers, and they seem to be aware that celiac disease is a genuine medical condition, not just a hippie trend. The service was extremely slow and inattentive, but it was a busy Thursday night just before a symphony concert. Next time we'll make a reservation at Wild Ginger and allow for more travel time!

Simply the Finest Venue In The City. Once upon a time in a far away place, I was a professional Aquarium Technician. I had seen some pretty amazing tanks, billionaires tanks... but the first time I walked into the Triple Door, my heart fluttered. The Aquarium to your right when you enter... well it's only, just... well... EPIC! You move through the room, enter the theater and are greeted with simple, graceful, perfection. Your own table! On an incline! No heads in front of you! Great sound! Starry backgrounds and velvet. You'd be hard pressed to find a more comfortable place to see a show. There are things that I don't like about the place, but they have nothing to do with what a great venue this is to see and hear music in. They are so belittled by the fact that I love this place that I have made a pact never to mention them in polite society. You should have been ruder.

Hot damn! Why have I never been here before? I felt like I was in the beginning of that Indiana Jones movie. Was it Temple of Doom? It was the one with Kate Capshaw...anyhooo I recently went to see Atomic Bombshells. What can I say? It was divine, lovely, hot, glamorous and overall a wonderful time. We also had a private box room so it was ultra lush. Next time, I would love to sit on the main floor, but when you're this wonderful...what can you do? The food was great, the server was attentive ( just push a button)and just an enjoyable night out on the town with friends. Now here is a dream within a dream...wouldn't it be cool if Sade played here? Oooops I just had an orgasm.

Baile! Baile! Baile!
